It had been probably 12-14 years since we tried O'Hares - we had sandwiches there one night and have just never thought again about going there. But tonight Hubby wanted to go to a "new" place to add to our repertoire of dinner spots, so... We had dinner here tonight - busy, but we managed to snag a table right away. Server was Johnny-on-the-spot with drink orders and food orders--little bit of a wait for our dinner, but it was worth it. Hubby had the Parmesan pasta, which is chicken Parmesan over spaghetti with a piece of toasted baguette. He cleaned up his plate, said it was very good. I had the special seafood linguine - shrimp, mussels, and scallops with fresh basil in a lemon-cream sauce (that had lots of Parmesan in it). It was delicious, but to me a little shy on the seafood---three each of shrimp, mussels, and scallops, and if those scallops had been seared, then the cook removed the sear marks from the little beasts. Again with a piece of toasted baguette, and I couldn't finish all the pasta. Servers were quick with drink refills, but we weren't offered desserts. Guess they wanted to clear the table for the packed waiting area. As a whole, we'll patronize this place again...and again...and again.

Today my lunch was good but I felt like it was slow and the portion wasn't quite big enough for an $11 salad. There was a lot of chicken but not much lettuce.

The sunday prime rib is phenomenal for the price, always have a good time, the food is always good, nice atmosphere, friendly staff! also a great place for lunch

The food here a few years ago was better. It's still good, but it used to be great. The service is a little bland. They are very attentive, but they are also boring- or they just seemed bored. It used to have more of a fun, upbeat atmosphere. The drinks are yummy! The appetizers are good. The portabello salad is also tasty. Fish and chips are also done very well here.

I love this place! The food is delicious. The service is always great. They have good specials. The establishment is clean and well decorated (tasteful). OMG the beer selections are extensive and fairly priced. 2 words : PRIME RIB , if you can make it there on a Sunday its to die for! Check em out - hopefully you'll be as impressed as I always am.

We have been here many times over a dozen years and it has always been consistently good. Friday we went for the prime rib for the first time and it was great. My old fall back is the Grilled Yellow Fin Tuna Salad which is so good, even on a bad day when the tuna is a little over cooked I still enjoy it with the chili romalaud (sp?)dressing.

Always forget about this place in Rio Rancho! Reminds me of O'neils Pub on Central (as far as food goes). Everything I've ever gotten here has been good and service is always consistently pleasant. The Ruben is a great choice, as is the chicken fried chicken! Both full of flavor and delicious. One of the better places in Rio Rancho :)

Been here a couple of times and each time the beer and food is great. Great Irish themed menu. Going here on St Patrick's day is a treat hearing bagpipes play. Very family friendly place too.

Had to wait 20 minutes to get a table on a Friday night. So it was busy but not to busy. The special was Prime Rib and I got the 16oz portion, It was cooked spot on and the Au Jus was great. My cut was over 16oz probably closer to18oz and nicely marbled. Staff was great and the place had a festive atmosphere. I am not a local but if I was I definitely would eat here again.

A new favorite! We discovered this place via another friend who couldn't say enough good things about the food - in particular the Sunday Prime Rib special. We went on a Sunday, had the prime rib special and it definitely lived up to the hype. The prime rib was very tasty, a good sized serving and the price tag was very affordable.

We love this place have never had a bad meal or visit staff makes you feel like family

I would give it 10 starts if I could. I live down the street so I eat here a lot. The food is Awesome! Great Prices! Great kids menu and kid friendly! My favorite is the chili dusted steak cesar salad"the bomb"! Everyone is super friendly!

Went last night, disappointed! I had the chicken Parmesan my husband the Chicken Fried Chicken. They were both made with the same pre-breaded chicken breast fillet. Wasn't the marinara I use to get, but tasted like jar sauce with a can of diced tomatoes thrown in. Pot of gold was good. Portions were smaller than normal as we usually take half of our servings home, had more chicken left than pasta, huh, quality has dropped. Wait staff was on top of things. But entree came out before we were half done with appetizer.

Excellent service, delicious comfort food!

Don't know what the excitement is about. Maybe if you are just into beer, idk. Really disappointing food. I had the pot roast that was dry and stringy. Lacked any of the richness a pot roast should have... The ambiance is uninspired and the wait staff was utilitarian. Polite and efficient but just going through the motions. Both of us didn't bother to finish our meals. I didn't have the opportunity to try the Prime Rib which is served on Friday's and Sunday's but I was too unimpressed to risk coming back.

Prime rib!!! Go early.....better yet don't go early so i can have a place to sit. I won't even tell you what day they serve it so there's more for me!
(4)Mike Z.
I'm not impressed. It seems like an established place and they have their usuals and the locals that seem to frequent. Their food is mediocre in the bar food standard. They have a couple items that are starred but not sure exactly what all the fuss is about. Decor is dated but doesn't seem to matter. It's a pub. Stick to pub food if you're going to order. Grab an order of Fish & Chips and you're fine. Don't get the soup of the day. Ha.
(2)Kevin M.
Great pub food! I had the double decker Rubin and it was good. Their large beers are really large. Try a Black and Tan.

Worst restaurant/bar ever. Was dragged here by family friends and my 18 year old waitress refused me drink service because my non-New Mexico (but GOVERNMENT ISSUED) I.D. is vertical. "In New Mexico, vertical means you're under 21." Um, not a New Mexico I.D. is it? What's the age say?? You know it scans, right??? Still denied! What a moron! I'm 28 with a full beard that makes me look 35.! And then, O'Hares scumbag 'manager' comes out and claims that "No vertical IDs is policy." I informed them both that I used to be a bouncer and that all US military IDs along with countless state-issued ID cards are all vertical. They both stood there looking stupid before restating it's policy. Given the company I was with, I responded with nothing but a great big thumbs up and ordered dinner. So, while I choked down their Sizzler-quality prime rib, my teenage moron waitress kept coming up behind me and rubbing my shoulders, "I'm sorry bout that buddy!" Don't touch customers, especially angry ones, ya ginger freak. Anyway, food sucks and I want to call the staff incompetent degenerates... but, scumbag morons seems much more appropriate. Hope the place burns down. xoxo

The food here used to be good, but it seems like they have gone to more frozen, pre-processed stuff. I had the meatloaf sandwich and it was dry and almost tasteless. Not sure what happened in the past few months, but stick to the appetizers and fish/chips if you come. Server was fantastic, and was very polite.
(2)Susan C.
My steak was cooked perfectly! My husband had the pastrami sandwich. Very tasty with a generous helping of meat. The staff is friendly and efficient. We have eaten here a few times and the food and service has always been good.
(5)Marie M.
Great daily specials. I especially like the Monday Mexican food special. It's always something different and delicious. Try the pot roast beef on Thursday if you're a meat eater! I've been eating here for years and I've never been disappointed.
(5)Mark S.
Good for the area, and probably gets a 4th star because there's not too many other sports bars like this in the area. Prices are fairly standard, and it's a good place to watch a game as they have a lot of drink specials on the weekend. But the better news is that the food is better than your average bar food, as our entire party really enjoyed their meals. The reuben sandwich I had was fantastic, with the pastrami being better than just deli meat.

Very unique take on some old favorites! Food: The Server, Danni, suggested the Chicken Fried Chicken ($9.50), so I ordered it. The meal was a large chicken breast, coated in a crispy beer batter covered with white gravy and chunks of green chili. AWESOME! The meal also included vegetables and mashed potatoes, so the meal was very filling. Ambiance: Very colorful, clean, and comfortable. Service: Excellent! Danni served me a cold Guinness ($4.00) within 5 minutes of sitting down, and the meal was served within 10 minutes! Final thoughts: The Yelp/Google map shows the wrong location. O'Hare's is located at the southwest corner of Southern and Rio Rancho Drive. Give O'hare's a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Good food, good prices! Chicken parm pasta is delicious!

Every time we've had lunch here the food and the service have always been excellent!

This might just be the best restaurant in the Albuquerque area. We've been here quite a few times and I usually default to getting a sandwich or a burger which are always top-notch. My favorite is the Cajun-style Charbroiled Chicken Sandwich. We went today and I got the Serrano Pasta with Chicken and it was phenomenal! It had the perfect amount of vegetables, spiciness, creaminess...I'm full right now, but I could still go back and eat some more. We always get a side of their spicy waffle fries and dip them in their remoulade dressing which is the only way to enjoy an O'Hare's meal as far as I'm concerned. It's a little bit of a drive for us to go to Rio Rancho, but it is always worth the detour. It's a small restaurant, but the service is always great.

Good food and great atmosphere. Just make sure you get a booth. They have the worst chairs. You'll need a chiropractor or massage after sitting in em for a meal.

So...first off, let me just say what a nice refreshing find this was. I can't tell you how many times I've passed by this place and never gave it a thought let alone a second look...however, after having had dinner here tonight with some friends after they'd suggested we try it, I was pleasantly surprised/impressed. I must also add, I'm not a big fan of pub food, although I have been completely amazed/surprised/proven wrong in the past...and tonight was no exception! Everything here tonight was really good. The wings were done just right, not too salty, lightly battered and fried perfectly, deliciously balanced, with a mild nose and subtle finish...not too oaky or buttery, just right. :). Ok - they wee just some pretty solid wings. My Caesar salad for dinner was also very good. The shrimp were grilled perfectly. Most places over grill them so they're nice and chewy. O'hares grilled them just right. I also had a side of mash potatoes with their green chili gravy. Snap! That's a must try - trust me. The service - wow! It was excellent. We had a young dude who couldn't have been more polite and attentive...seriously, this guy was top shelf the whole way. I also need to add that the manager (we believe) came by and asked us, not just how everything was but more specifically "how was everything tonight...did everything taste good and was the the service good"? Seriously? This is 2015...who the hell asks that anymore? Lol. Again, I was very impressed. Nothing makes for a better dinner when you go from zero expectations to being blow out of the water by good, solid tasting food and great service...very cool indeed! I hear/have read that the prime rib is also something not to miss. I'll be back - most definitely. There's a Ruben with my name all over it - and slow pork roast that i saw hit another table that look sick-good. Well done O'hares...See you soon.

Why haven't I done this sooner? We love to come here, the only issue I have it the fact that they have been out of certain specials after we have ordered them. The service is always spectacular, the food is fresh and on par, the ambiance is bar/pub. Late night weekdays makes for a nice date night if you are looking for casual.

Great food, great atmosphere, super service, lots of tv's to watch. Luv the art work on the walls (all for sale).

Well.... The difference between sunday breakfast and tuesday dinner is uh, night and day. We were seated in the bar. And a child no older than 4 was at the next table. In the bar. Empty tables in the dining area. Always seems wrong to me. Anyway... Breakfast was yummy. Dinner... Needed seasoning and was greasy. A highlight is the green chili cream gravy. I am a HUGE fan of hot tamales, the sister restaurant of o 'hares. So, i will give them another shot. (I ordered veggie appetizer, and serrano cream pasta. My bf had the chicken fried chicken.)

Great Serrano pasta
(5)Jeanne H.
Excellent variety on the menu. Fantastic specials. Service is quick and competent. This is an always satisfying standard in Rio Rancho. Saw they are now open on Sundays which fits with all the big screen TVs. Good selection of beer on tap.
(4)Ash S.
This place rocks! Best kept secret in new mexico; serve a huge portion of snow crab legs for $10 every sunday!!! Amazing!!!
(5)Diane P.
Great food. Love their nightly specials. Comfortable friendly atmosphere. Best deal on prime rib on Friday nights.
(5)Kimmy V.
This is the place to go on a friday night when every other restaurant is full. Their prime rib fridays are a steal and pretty good for its price. Pot of gold appetizer is crisp and batter is delicious. The salads taste as if they have been soaked in water for too long so i won't order that again. Pretty decent drink prices as well.
