We had a great breakfast! Friendly people! Authentic Hatch chiles on many dishes...word to the heat sensitive: order chile sauce on the side unless you are properly prepared. We'll be back! Also the map is wrong, they are located on the North side (as in not on the South side) of I40 they are in the Chaco Canyon Travel Plaza.

Service could use some help! Like the guy working the register! Looked at us 3 times and picked up menu 3 times but the young kids at counter were more interesting than us customers...... Tea is not fresh brewed it came out of soda fountain.... Just waiting on my food... Hope it's better than the workers... Nice Indian lady working but our waitress has a memory problem lol sad for as young as she is.....

Stopped in for lunch today while on the road. Very tasty enchiladas! I tried both the green and red chili sauce. They're both excellent and homemade on site. The presentation of the food was very pretty. Ordered blueberry empanadas for dessert on the road. They offered to warm them up. They were super yummy. Salsa for the chips was authentic and quite spicy which was pleasing to my palate but may be too hot for some. Quick service, great waiters. This place is something really special for a roadside cafe. The menus, table settings and attitude all showed attention to detail and care. If Kiva Cafe was in my hometown, I'd go there often!

French Toast (half order) was plenty and tasted great! Eggs were cooked nicely and tasted good, not overcooked. Nice little cafe with a comfortable bar set up to grab a really nice breakfast. You can check out some jewelery while you are there. Good place to stop in and relax from a long drive. No internet is the only downside.

The food here is good. About what you might expect for a roadside cafe. If I were passing through again, I would eat here. The chili rellenos plate was really good and spicy with green chili sauce. The rice and beans were great. The Indian taco was huge, but the fry bread was a bit tough and the meat could use more seasoning. The best part was the complimentary sopapillas. Eaten with honey, really good!

They really do need to hire a couple more folks for the lunch rush - my impatient obese partner with irritable bowel and diabetes who lives his life in a rush almost caused a scene. However, while he went to smoke his precious cigarette - they brought out the food. Mine was great. I opted for the green Blue Corn Enchiladas. I'll be doing that again the next time I'm in Cibola county! My partner, who ignorantly likes to blame everything except himself, had a salad. He didn't fare to well - but then he wouldn't.... shocking your IBS with fresh foods after a month of solid grease will leave a person doubled over. All in all - I'll go back just to avoid having to eat another meal with that guy. lol Seriously - if you want great New Mexican Cuisine go for it. The Indian Taco (even tho they use sopapilla for the fry bread) is awesome too. You'll leave stuffed!

I went there this morning for breakfast. The food was excellent. I had Huevos rancheros with beans. Very tasty. Also the service was outstanding. Located across the street from the truck stop that I go to regularly. . Im going back to have lunch/dinner soon. I'm sure I will get the same type of service. Very clean restaurant. .

Kiva Cafe offers a large variety of food: Today I decided to have the beef and bean burrito with half red chili and half green chili. The portion is large, the chili hot and the food was delicious! The staff is friendly and the food is fast, but gives a home cooked feeling ... and they have great sweet iced tea! Lunch is highly recommended!

Just passing through town on a road trip, stopped and grabbed lunch to go. The Sopapilla burger was huge! Two frybreads as bun, the patty was nearly (mm, 80-85%) the same size as the fry breads. Fries were hand cut w/ no salt. Good for this hypertensive guy. Looked like a lot of locals here for lunch. Definitely a goto place if you are in the area.

Convenient and exactly what I wanted to order: Philly cheese steak smothered in good New Mexico green chile. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. If I ever pass through again I would stop in and try more.

I had the Blue Corn Chicken Enchiladas with Green Chili and they were DELICIOUS! We heard breakfast is yummy as well. Definitely going back!

Kiva is a nice clean place. The service is great, the food is excellent and the prices are more than fair.

Kiva surprised me. I wasn't expecting much out of this place, but it wasn't all that bad. I had the kiva breakfast burrito and it was pretty good the service was pretty good all around a nice surprise. Once again I wouldn't bother eating in Grants but if you must Kiva is one of only three places I would recommend.

We took a chance and had dinner at what looks like a truck stop cafe. This is a very clean restaurant with a large menu of American and Mexican food. We both had the roast beef special for less than $10 each. My wife had the mashed potatoes while I had a baked potato. Both potatoes where very good as was the roast beef. The carrot and corn vegetables were also cooked well, not over cooked and tasty. I would definitely return and recommend this cafe.

I am from Grants, NM but no longer live there. I went with my family to eat at Kiva. The torilla burger was good but the service was not!! The entire staff is rude and act like you are bothering them when you ask for anything. I paid using my debit card and apparently the power went out and my card did not go through. They called me and asked me to go back and re-pay. I was unable to go back that day because we had already left town for the day. I received a very rude phone call from Millie Elkins on the 4th of July stating I needed to come in and pay and basically accusing me of stealing. I went in and re-paid and now my card has been charged twice. I called to ask them to reverse one of the charges. Millie told me I wasn't charged twice when I have the bank statement to prove it. If the Elkins are that hard up for $40 they can have it. Do not eat here!! You are better off going to Allsups and eating a burrito from there. I have never been treated so rudely!!!
