Disgustingly filthy, crappy service. These are the type of people who would spit in your food. My mother complained about a sticky table and they wiped it with a rag and it did not help, she asked them to do it again and they did get it clean the second time but when my mother got her food there was a piece of chewed up gum on her plate next to her food. I'm sure it was put there out of spite. Obvious from the rude attitude from the staff. Will never eat at a village inn again.

My wife and I have been eating here for a long time but service is getting really bad We made our order she had chicken tenders and I had a burger our server asked if we needed anything else so I told him I needed mustard please (I even said please) I waited and waited and waited my burger was getting cold so I started eating it and he came walking by didn't say a word just walked by in a hurry so he could get his cigarette in and he never came back not even to find out if we wanted refills on our sodas Good thing they give us our ticket we probably wouldn't have gotten that either so when we went to pay the manager asked how everything was I told him what we thought about the service and apologized and gave us free 32oz drinks and free slices of pie When we were leaving he called in the server and started chewing him out telling him he may have lost long time regulars And they have for awhile until we hear it has gotten better

Went here a while back with my boyfriend to enjoy an early lunch and we where NOT impressed! The service was terrible, took forever to get our order then took even longer to get our food out to us. Sadly by the time we got our food it was only mildly warm like it had been sitting on the counter for a while before we got it. The ONLY good thing about this trip was that they gave us free pie after words because of the not so good service. However, it took a long time to get us our pie as well. Sad part is... there was only like 3 other people in the place so being busy wasn't an excuse.

I moved to Lincoln a year ago and have eaten here many times in that year. I have always had good service and good food. Plus, the pie is excellent. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to eat, this is a good pick.

The previous reviews are two years old, and some things have definitely changed. I ate here with a large group of people, as we didn't know the area, and was pleasantly surprised. The food offerings are on part with other major "breakfast" chain restaurants. My omelette was decent, better than I would gotten at some other chains, but not as good as I have had at diners back on the east coast. The place has been recently remodeled and I found it to be pretty clean. The service here was good as well, very friendly. I wouldn't let the other reviews scare you away, things have definitely changed. Just don't expect anything gourmet.

It's Village Inn folks, not french cuisine. For what it is it's awesome. Fast friendly service and good food at a fair price. They draw a crowd and they handle it with poise and professionalism. Eat here, be satisfied.

Went there to talk with a friend and decided to have dinner, too. The service was slow and the food dry and cool ... the presentation was scary. The waitress was nice but the service was slow. Glad my friend payed for the meal. They've redesigned the interior ... now they need to improve the food. Their reputation is sinking like the Titanic. Abandon ship.

All I'm going to say is, get the chicken strip/tenders meal. I think it's around 10 or 11 dollars, but it comes with a large amount of chicken, fries, two sides, AND a biscuit! What a deal. It's VI so it's nothing glamorous but if I'm going there and don't necessarily want breakfast then the chicken is my go-to. I would give them 4 stars but I'm going to dock them one because the price of soda at VI is ridiculous.
