Good food I always order beef and broccoli. The prices are high for what you get and the other downside is sometimes they aren't open during the posted business hours. And if you call and order they sometimes mess the order up. But overall it's good good.

I ordered the Sweet and sour pork with rice for take out. It's basically sweet and sour soup. The pork is not breaded and all the veggies are swimming in sauce. The Thai tea has too much tea and not enough milk. They don't know Thai food. I also ordered the chicken pad Thai but I won't set my expectations too high. I'd pass on this restaurant. It's not suited well for more than call in and pick up place. I wouldn't go there again.

Eggs rolls were tasty but greasy. Huge take out, seating for 3 at a table, 7 at the rail along the window. Shrimp Fried Rice tasty but greasy as well??? Pad Thai Noodles are the real deal. Love it, will come back.

There will be no stars awarded for this terrible Thai Restaurant! Was told food would be ready in 15 minutes and was there in 17, 1 of the 3 dinners we ordered was cold... And I don't mean like warm, I mean cold. All three dishes were awful, you basically get soup with meat in it, and the flavoring is borderline disgusting! I don't normally write bad reviews but when a 32 year old who gets done working a 12 hour day and only eats breakfast can't put down but 2 bites of dinner, you know there is a problem!!!i

Worst Pad Thai I have ever had. My wife and I were driving through and looking for some simple Asian food. Basically, stir fried rice noodles with no sort of seasoning or flavor. Sprinkled with sriracha sauce on top as their form of spice. About as authentic as a instant dried package at your local grocer. Wait, maybe worse.

The restaurant is a small hole in the wall place which usually means the food is hit or miss and this one is sorely a miss. The owner Upin is a nice lady and seems to have her own flare of cooking style but when it comes to the taste of the food it seems like she has lost her touch. I can understand as the food quality here in Dickinson ND isn't very high. If you do eat out anywhere, don't expect the food to be anywhere close to amazing. You'll get the bland normal to be expected flavors and if you have no taste buds then you'll do fine eating here and everywhere else in this town. The food was prepared fast and fresh just lacked that real Thai flavoring we were expecting.

So delicious, we ordered the pork egg rolls, proper streak pad Thai and the sweet and sour pork. Best egg rolls I've ever had and the rest was snagging as well. Definitely try this place it's a little sketchy looking and small on the inside but you won't be disappointed.

This is a hole in the wall. I always go to every Thai restaurant I can, and this one was very good. Loved the food. I gave only four stars because there is just a countertop to eat at so it is pretty much a to go kind of place, and that was not advertised. They charge restaurant prices for to go food.

Chicken pad Thai noodles were awesome! Also enjoyed the pork & shrimp egg rolls. I called from the freeway and the food was hot and ready exactly when I said I'd be there for take out. The place is really small and probably best for take- out.

Hubby had the Shrimp Pad Thai and it was wonderful. It was perfectly spicy and not too heavy. I, being a huge fan of ginger, ordered the Ginger Chicken and couldn't stop eating. It is that good. They are by no means stingy with the servings either. Mine came with more than enough chicken. I enjoyed the wait as well. It's a small place with a giant personality. They are non-stop busy and watching Upin cook is great! I was amazed at how busy they were and how she was never overwhelmed. It will be our definate go to place while here in Dickinson, ND

Authentic Thai food. It is one of those 'secrets' that the locals know! It is great to see others think the same ..... Upin has worked hard to keep the restaurant open. Hopefully more will support her business.

I don't get it, all these raving good reviews on their food but then again this is Dickinson ND. There were flies in the restaurant and the server was picking his nose while taking an order on the phone!!! I had the beef stir fry and there was nothing special about it. I will give a 4 star for friendliness ... The owner is super nice and chatted with me while I waited, the wait time was approx 14mins and I was the only one in the restaurant at the time. If you do decide to go here and you are the 3rd-4th or beyond grab something to read .

the pepper steak and pad-thai noodles are amazing! love this place! The owner Upin is a sweet little gal with a great sense of humor. This is a call-in order and pick up joint, which I love. Wonderful place!

One of the few Thai restaurants in central/western North Dakota, and it's surprisingly good. Portions are large enough to split into two meals and reasonably priced. Pad Thai was delicious. The sauce was lighter than most I've usually had, which was a nice surprise. Order ahead of time though - there are some barstools inside, but it's mainly a take-out place and it takes a little while for them to make the food. Worth it!

The yum yum chicken is good. I have tried several other items on the menu, and I'm not a fan of anything else. The fried rice is nothing special. (It taste like it has cinnamon in it.) If you want good fried rice, try Sakura. It's the best.

I had the pad Thai and it was great. A small is a huge portion. Also it is takeout so order ahead of time. Will definitely eat here again.

Last year I would of had given the place 5 stars but lately the place has been slacking. The food has slowly gotten worse and they rarely have any spring rolls. The hours that they are open has become even more sporadic than normal. I have noticed that the lady that owns the place is out more and that her son and his friends are in there more often than not. I don't know if the most recent problems are from her lack of presence or not but something is not the same.

Thank you Yelpers! All of the reviews are right on. The place is a hole in the wall, but the food is great. I called in my order, and based on reviews, got pork pad thai, yum yum chicken (both spicy) and shrimp spring rolls. When I arrived, the place was crowded with several groups waiting. My food wasn't ready and I found out they were out of spring rolls. Bummer. The 2 small orders fed my co-worker and I for dinner with enough for lunch the next day. The pad thai was a little dry and definitely needed more of the sauce that came with it. But the flavor was fantastic with just the right kick. The yum yum chicken had a peppery, curry sauciness that made it hard to put my fork down. If you are in the area, check this place out!

I had heard some good things about this place. But the food just did not measure up. But if you are in Dickinson ND you do not have any other choice. Give it a try, maybe I hit it on a bad night.

Amazing! Looks an be deceiving by the building itself... But oh my Upin makes great food. Very nice/funny lady too!
(5)Sarah C.
Don't let the humble storefront scare you off. The food is authentic and the portions are big. I'm used to a lot more peanut sauce on my pad thai, but the green curry was amazing. Expect to wait a little, but the food is worth it. I'd like to see the place updated with seating and table service, but for the takeout, I give 4 stars!

I absolutely love Upin Thai! My wife picked up some beef pad thai for me one night on her way home from work and I fell in LOVE with it. After that I went to pick some up myself and was incredibly satisfied with the chick pad thai as well. I asked for both of them to be Spicy and i definitely got what I was looking for! It was amazing! The location is less desirable but the food is SO damn good it doesn't matter. Best thing to do is get a to-go order and eat that Thai bliss @ home.
(5)Troy N.
Yes it is small, yes there is really no place to eat inside. But it is authentic, incredibly tasty and the staff and owner are very personable, humble and very good at their art. I wouldn't change anything about Upin Thai- please support the local non-chain businesses like this in Dickinson. We need more of these! Fantastic food and service. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it is all great. Personally, the pad thai and spicy beef are my favorites. The waleye was very tasty - for those who are a little more adventurous. easily 5 stars.
(5)Jasmine P.
Not the worst pad Thai I've ever had but very far from the best. Clearly a take out joint, which was fine because I planned to take back to hotel anyway. Have never seen carrots and cabbage in pad Thai so I ordered without. Asked for likes and they had none, weird, asked for light green onion and got extra. Asked for extra spicy and got med at best. They had a good taste so I gave a 2star but it was not pad Thai flavor. Sweet soy noodles maybe with the sauce they give you it had a better flavor. Coconut juice was good.

Was passing through Dickinson and had heard about Upin Thai from a friend. Stopped in around noon on a Saturday. Since I was the lone customer, I got to chat with the owner, a nice Thai lady, while she cooked my meal. The food was fabulous. Just fabulous. I used to date a Thai girl a million years ago, and I can tell you that Upin Thai's food is legit. Upin has very limited seating, so I had to eat in the corner while standing. It was still worth it. I'd order to go from here four-five times a week if I lived in Dickinson. Take a chance, you won't regret it.

Everything here is amazing. Easily the best take out in town, which is tragic because Upin Thai is barely recognizable as a business from the outside. If you can get past the deteriorating decor, this place is for you. Most dishes can be ordered "spicy or no-spicy" on a scale of 1-10. I usually go for an 8. Seriously, go here and get the Pad Thai, Red Curry, Yum Yum Chicken, or ANYTHING. You will not be disappointed. She also sells her own sweet and sour sauce for $5 which is legendary.

Delicious Thai food. Some of the best I have had. The place is a hole in the wall. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is their lack of seating. They have 5 barstools up against a rail you could eat at if you wanted. I would consider it carry out only. I really liked the fact that you could see the cook and she was adding spices right out of a jar. No premade sauces here. Not much flexiblity in their menu. One person in my party wanted a certain dish with pork instead of chicken or beef, apparently that was not possible. Give it a try you will be surprised after looking at the place. They even have fresh brewed Thai Tea.

Thanks Yelp! This was a great place to pick up a take-back-home (or take-back-to-the-motel, as the case may be) supper. The portions are HUGE, and delicious. We got the Pad Thai with chicken -small size- and it fed us both with leftovers! We also got a small beef stir fry, which was good - but not as good as the pad thai. Needless to say, with the two dishes, we would have had enough for dinner tonight as well- if only we weren't on the road... Next time we're in Dickinson, we know where we'll be eating!

Don't be deceived by the restaurant's humble appearance, the food is tasty and there is plenty of it. The location is very small; there is a counter type area where you could eat but I'd suggest taking your dinner home. I had the sweet and sour chicken dish. The small order was a good size; could easily fed two people. I got two meals out of it. The dish wasn't too spicy which I like but you could ask for the spicy version when you order. The menu isn't too extensive but covers all the basics. Pad Thai, spring rolls, hot and sour, sweet and sour etc. The service is quick and friendly and my order was up in 15 minutes when I was a walk in order on a Friday night.

Excellent food---just wish they had a good place to sit since we are from out of town & can't really carry out... Did NOT like the Thai Tea...yuck!
(3)Lisa V.
I've never had a bad meal here . . . usually order shrimp pad thai "a little spicy". The portions are big. Usually order a large and my husband and I can share and have some left over. Great food!
(5)Gage H.
Cute little place that serves Thai food. I've only had two entree's there. The Fried Rice and the Pad Thai ( Fried noodles).

Outstanding! As others have mentioned, this is not a place you might stop in if you were just driving past. My fiancee and I were traveling and found the listing on Yelp. Very friendly people and excellent Thai food. I had the pad thai, and she had the red curry. Both were excellent. We've both traveled in Thailand, and this was the closest we've come to matching what we had there.
