Went to a wedding where the rehearsal pig roast (oh Montana!) and the main event were catered by Zac's, and I have to say it was some of the best wedding food I have ever had. Get: -pulled pork - they have an attendant at events actually PULLING the pork meat out of a roasted pig... talk about stellar! More than once, I heard people exclaiming, "Oh my god, I knew it was called pulled pork, but I had no idea!" What a fabulous way to get guests in the real MT mood and atmosphere! -hors d'oeuvre: smoked trout on cucumber - this was one of my favorite things all night. The fish was not fishy, and it was perfectly smoked. the porportions were just so that the freshness of the cucumber and the wonderful smokiness of the fish were balanced and equally shined -hors d'oeuvre: elk sausage. yes, elk sausage! It was cut into manageable pieces, very tasty, and a great conversation starter. -hors d'oeuvre: jalapeno corn fritter. it was perfectly fried, and not too heavy. -tri tip: juicy and full of flavor -au gratin potatoes - not sure what style, but these were cheese and butter packed, and really the perfect accompaniment to the meats. it was to die for! -chicken: im not kidding! wedding chicken done right! it was juicy, and had a great seasoning. -dessert: smores bar - homemade marshmellows and chocolates (white, dark, strewn with M&Ms, you name it) over an actual flame where you can roast them yourselves. this was priceless! Seriously, if you want to cater an event in MT near livingston, Zac's has got to be at the top of your list!

We went in opening weekend. Unfortunately, many of the menu items ran out by the time we ordered. That was disappointing. However, the items we did order were pretty darn good and the price was also hard to beat. (If it had been a regular weekend - not 'opening weekend' - the prices would have been 2x as much though.) We ordered the pork ribs and pulled pork. Both were delicious. Later that evening I did have some stomach pain, but it was most likely my sensitive stomach not the food. I will most definitely be back and hope next time the menu stays the same from the time I enter the line to the time I order. I will re-asses the cost too.

First, the food was delicious, but the promises were not kept. They catered my sister's wedding, and they delivered 20-30 minutes late. It was fine because they delivered to Gardiner, Montana. During booking, and on the wedding day, we were promised all the leftovers would be left. We had 15 people staying with us in 2 cabins for a day and a half after. Near, the end of the wedding night guest were asking for the leftovers the bride had promised them, and only the sides were left. A text was sent asking about where the mains were as there was a lot left, and the next day a reply was received that we could pick it up in Livingston. There was plenty of room and containers to store them in the cabin kitchen they operated out of. It put some damper on the wedding at the end of the night. I just wish Zac's would have fulfilled their agreements. If they had been respectable and did what they promised I would recommend them.

In the process of planning our wedding, and Zac has been without a doubt the best vendor we have dealt with. Have not tasted his food yet, but really loved the imagination and enthusiasm he put into designing our Menu. He has also been responsive to all our emails and always returns calls (this seems obvious, but we've been amazed by how many other vendors simply fail to do this). Was very helpful and worked with our budget, without making us feel stingy like so many other wedding vendors do when you start talking to them about controlling costs. Overall Zac is a man who you can tell loves his job, and his excitement really is infectious. Go and talk to him if you need a caterer in the Bozeman/Livingston area - Sure you will be as impressed as we were.

We spent 4 all inclusive days @ wild side, wildlife tours and treks at the yellowstone institute. The quality & variety of all my meals that was catered by Zac's Catering, Livingston Montana, would impress even the most discriminating palette.
