Yummy food. Curry noodles were spicy but perfrct and huge. The elk burger should be eaten medium to get best flavor and is amazing with bacon n avacodo. The beer choices are vast and you can try a sample before deciding what you want. Love Livingston's hospitality too.. wonderful food n service.

We come up to Livingston every other year or so. My wife grew up here and had family here. One of our favorite places to come was The Sport. It just kind of felt like Livingston to us. I guess it's been a while since we have been back, 2 or 3 years and they made some changes. It's like the owners went on vacation to San Francisco and came back and thought "You know what we need to upscale the place". They took out a bunch of nice small tables and put in a high bench all along one wall. They the took out that great bookshelf/armoire furniture piece and put in fire pit seating arrangement. And the food got very gourmet or at least tried to be and they raised the prices to match. Now the whole place feels like something that was designed to cater to crowds of yuppie in Aspen or some such place. If I want that sort of thing I would go there. It's like they want to compete with the Chop House down the street. Don't get me wrong, I can do snooty foody type places. Hell I lived in SF for over 10 years. But I feel that they had a good thing and then ditched it to try and be something else. Hey it's their place and it's their choice. My choice is that if I want that sort of thing I don't go to Montana for it. And if I'm in Livingston I can go to the Chop House or over to Bozeman, I don't think they needed another over priced restaurant in town. Guess I'm just getting to be an old fart who doesn't like change.

This is the yuppie bar of the locations in livingston. great food, although I'm not sure if there is anything truly healthy. They server a variety of burgers made from elk, buffalo and other animals. The fries are to die for, to use an east coast vernacular. Wait staff was very friendly. There a lot of taxidermy on the walls so if you're offended by that type of thing.. go somewhere else please.. The stuffed Wolverine on the bar says it all about the place. it's great. If you need free wifi, you're not social or drunk enough to be here.

The Sport has a great "local watering hole" feel with a twist. Their food is awesome! You may know I'm a vegan and they were super accommodating. Weird... Where the hell would i eat right? Again the staff was great and they carry a variety of local and MT brews. Check em out

This place was recommended by a coworker of my wife from her hotel in town. Although the restaurant was understaffed when we first arrived, the server/bar tender did his best to check in as often as possible. We all ordered burgers and they were cooked to order and very juicy. In house made fries were also good. I ordered a side caesar salad which was also very good even if overpriced at $5. And yes they do take American Express which was good since this was part of a business trip.

We've been fortunate to be in the area over the last two years. This time for an extended stay. Livingston and it's people are wonderful, but the choices to eat are limited if you want good value for a good meal. We found it here. The menu is varied, and the food is quite good. We happened to arrive during happy hour which was a bonus. It is also a restaurant I'd feel comfortable bringing children. We will definitely return multiple times. Very nice experience.

The food is all made from scratch, and our bar keeper (Brad) was about the best ever. Highly recommended.

Well, I've eaten a lot of burgers in my time and The Sport served us two of the best. Mind you, we tried the Elk & Bison burgers which are a bit more expensive, but worth the extra cost. I've tried both Bison & Venison (deer) before but this was a first for Elk. The meat was cooked just right. I'm not sure what ingredients were added to the meat but this was one tasty burger. The bun was fresh & just the right size for the meat patty (hate when the bun dwarfs the meat). Add some great fries & a couple of local beers served by friendly staff and it was a terrific meal. I'm always pleased when I see a restaurant that is popular with locals as well. It usually means good food at reasonable prices, and The Sport more then fits that description.

My wife and I were looking for a new place to try for lunch, so we decided to drive to Livingston and try this place. We went on a Saturday at about 1:30, only a few tables with people so it wasn't real busy. A very limited local beer selection. My wife had the quesadilla and I ordered a hamburger with cheese and bacon. Her quesadilla was actually very good. The hamburger showed up and was missing the bacon, and when it was mentioned the waitress replied, I put it on the ticket they just missed it, I'll take it off the bill. The hamburger was cooked until dead, very dry, no seasoning, not a good hamburger at all. The bad thing was while our food was cooking, our waitress and the chef got into a very loud and heated discussion about how much to charge for an extra serving of a sauce. I'm guessing because he was upset, our food was neglected. We tried this place with an open mind, we won't be back. If you are looking for food in Livingston, please at all costs, avoid this place.

One of the better places to eat in Livingston. We ate there at lunch and the fried pickles were delicious. There were three of us and we all felt the same. I had the fish and chips which were ample and as good as I've had anywhere. We plan to visit again before we leave in a couple of days and sample the evening menu. There are several choices in Livingston but this is one of the best! The staff is friendly we felt very comfortable.

I have been coming to this bar for many years. The menu is delicious and offers a full range of meal choices. I highly recommend the hamburger and the fries that come with it are superb. Enjoy a cold beer on a hot day in the bar or restaurant area. A definite must-stop when in Livingston.

The sport has been around for some 115 years - the name they say comes from the sporting houses that were nearby. The Bar is the 2nd longest in Montana and has some of the best of Montana's craft beers.. The menu is simple and well prepared, portions awesome.. French fries crunchy and the perfect side. If you get weekend breakfast, prepare to walk it off. Stop in and say hi to Ivan, Sarah and Chris-- they will make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door.. Never know who you will run into here John Mayer, Seth Myers are semi regulars.. Great town but don't miss THE SPORT ...

The worst! I ordered grilled cheese as their vegetarian options are nill. It was supposed to come on Wheat Montana bread and what was served to me was 2 pieces of laminated, processed garbage "cheese" on wonder bread (I ordered wheat). A companion ordered the prime rib special and was served pork, it looked like under cooked bacon. After the waitress informed him it was indeed prime rib he asked that she take it back to the kitchen. Per waitress the cook said "the container was labeled prime rib" and the manager apologized saying it was obviously pork. A joke. Livingston has plenty of really amazing restaurants and neither me or my friends/family will ever be going back

What a great spot! They were open on the later side as we were tired and going from Yellowstone to Billings. Tremendous beer selection, excellent food (pickle brined buffalo wings!!! And bison brauts). Awesome atmosphere and friendly service. Don't miss this place.

Always a darn fine burger. Lots of options to customize your burger experience. If you're not in a burger mood, the various in-house cured meats artfully piled into delicious sandwiches will surely slake your hunger. The scotch eggs are excellent, as are the steaks. I enjoy eating here and will continue to do so.

On a hiking trip to this part of the country during the World Cup and I was thrilled to find this local sports bar. It gets my top marks cuz of the following aspects: Tvs-Local beer-15ppl seated in recod time and gr8 service-Sports burger that tasted better then any beef burger I've had.

This turned out to be "the find" of our 5,300+ mile road trip. We came into town needing lunch and found this place. First, we fell in love with Livingston and started to have dreams about moving here. Second, the bar itself is so cool - really feels like you're in the old west. Third, the food was great. Fourth, we found some old LIFE magazines from the 1930s (I won't tell you where they are - ha ha!) and had a blast thumbing through them, looking at the ads especially. This was a great place and serves local beer. If I were near town, I would be coming here a lot more often.

We had multiple meals at this bar/restaurant and they know their potatoes! Their fries are the best Ive ever had and the potatoes that come with their crab cakes benedict were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Not a likely place to go for a great meal but you will not be disappointed.

Great place, and a cool old building and bar. Fish tacos rock. Three stars because the owner definitely understaffs the place, even during the busy summer months, so service can be slooooowwww. Otherwise, one of the better lunch places in town.
