Don't let the outside of this place fool you, it is very nice inside. The beer selection was surprisingly good for such a small town. The food is the real jewel here. I had the pork medallions with the jalapeno cream sauce and it was delicious. The potatoes that came with the dish would almost be worth the trip back here. This is a small town, but it has character. The Mint reflects this and is not just a good restaurant because it is here, it would be good anywhere.

Great service, great vibe and most importantly great simple tasty food. The wife and I were fly fishing for the day in Lewistown and were pleasantly surprised by the awesome meal we got here. Best restaurant I've been to so far in all of Montana.

Easily the best place in town. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious, especially the bread, seafood, veggies, and desserts. Despite the cost (probably the most costly in town), I go several times a month just because I have such a wonderful time. There are only a few negatives about The Mint. It's small and can be quite loud. Also, it's hard for a large group to fit. But the service, food, and atmosphere more than make up for it. Don't judge this restaurant by its exterior - I think it has to look crappy or there would never be enough room for everyone to fit. Check it out and you'll never want to go anywhere else.

We have tried on three different trips through Lewistown to eat at Mint, but it has been booked up every time. This time through, we got a reservation! After reading the reviews and having such a tough time getting in, we were so excited! It is a nice restaurant with very professional service. We had the artichoke and spinach dip, mahi mahi, and caramel flan for dessert. The dip was really tasty - puréed artichokes, spinach, and cream cheese, with a layer of salsa over the top - delicious; not "new American," but yummy. The mahi was good, and veggies....ok. Pretty average food for the price and expectation build-up. The dessert was amazing! If we only had the entree, this would be a 3-star review, but the dessert and service kicked it up a notch. I'm glad we tried it, but I won't be disappointed on future trips through Lewistown if we don't get reservations at Mint. But, if we have to eat in Lewistown in the future, this will be the place.

This is hands down the absolute best restaurant in Lewistown, Montana. Being from the Bay Area, I consider myself a semi-foodie and pretty picky when it comes to my food. I've visited The Mint every time I've been in Lewistown visiting family and I have to say that it never disappoints. First is the food. It's always very high quality and prepared perfectly. This may be the only place in the town that doesn't use iceberg lettuce. Being from out of state, I do always appreciate the amazing steaks. Second, the service is so friendly and professional. I've been here in small groups and in large and they always do a stellar job. If you are in Lewistown, don't miss this hidden gem.

Don't be fooled by the location or curb appeal. Once you lay eyes on the menu you will think your in the city. Quality and service. Would definitly suggest this as the best fare in town.

My family and I have loved eating at The Mint every Summer when we visit our grandpa's Ranch in Lewistown. The food and service has always been great and this year we thought it would be special to celebrate Grandpa's 92nd birthday with a special dinner at The Mint. I called to make a reservation for 10 of us three weeks in advance and the owner said that they don't allow parties of that size - even broken up into 2 or 3 separate tables - not even under 3 separate reservations. He said, "I'm not going to put my staff through that". I'm not sure what he meant but he said it in such a rude and disgusted way, it broke my heart! Very poor hospitality. So disappointing.

We almost didn't go as we wanted a special dinner, not your typical bar food. This is a very nice restaurant. The average entree is about $18. And worth every penny. Our martinis were perfect, the homemade mushroom soup was to die for. Honey had the rib eye which was cooked to perfection, a very nice piece of meat. I had the wall eye, one of many specials. It was ok. Our server was a very attentive and pleasant man who knew the menu by heart. We would definitely return another time..

Been going to this place for years when we visit friends or come to the area for hunting trips. We always look forward to eating here. Great food, great atmosphere, super good service. The menu is not huge and stays pretty much the same, but that is good because they nail the recipes and prep. That said, take a look at the spectacular specials. Always enticing, delicious specials. If you come to the area, be sure to plan at least one meal at the Mint!

Excellent place, nice atmosphere and great staff. Food was awesome. Had the chicken with artichoke and mushroom cream sauce was great. It came with a salad and ranch dressing that was dynamite and the dessert was creme caramel and it's was over the top fab!!! You can't go wrong here There isn't much to choose from but this is by far the best dinner joint in town.

This is clearly the creme de la creme of Lewistown; and very impressive, to say the least. Our group was well taken care of, and the food was well prepared; the menu simple but well thought out. Drinks well crafted, and I was surprised by the quality of food for a town that reminds me so much of where I grew up - and we certainly didn't have this there!

Wonderful! Great meal options not offered in many Montana restaurants, great staff and service as well! Recommend to anyone!

Great food, be sure to make a reservation!

By far the best place to eat in Lewistown. The list of specials outnumbers the number of items on the menu. It was also nice to see some real vegetables for sides. Numerous steak an fish options on the menu. Nice selection of beers in tap including some nearby micros. Also don't forget to leave some room for dessert. The atmosphere is very nice, but the place is not really that big so you may have to wait on a table.

We had an overnight stop in Lewistown during our two week motorcycle tour. I was ready to be underwhelmed as we considered dinner options, but we went to The Mint Bar and Grill based upon Yelp recommendations and had a great evening. The restaurant is relatively small so we had a 30 minute wait before we could be seated, but that was fine and gave us a chance for a cocktail before dinner. Once seated, my wife ordered the salmon and I had the BBQ pork ribs. Both were excellent. There were also multiple meat and fish specials which we didn't have, but sounded great. We shared a home made rhubarb crumble for desert which was a great end to the meal. Our waiter was attentive and knew the menu inside and out. Service and value were both impressive. I would certainly recommend the Mint to anyone looking for a dinner recommendation in Lewistown.

Having lived in Lewistown for eight years I feel I can competently judge many of Lewistown's dining options. Hands down the Mint Bar & Grill is the best restaurant in Lewistown. The service is excellent, the food though not about to find itself on a Michelin five star, is great. You food will come the way you request it, your servers will keep the drinks full and you will never feel rushed to leave. Beware though, during important times of the year....hunting season particularly it may be hard to get a reservation in the dinning room. But don't fret, the bar is truly the best thing about the Mint. Drop in and be prepared to start a good conversation with the lawyer on your left, the teacher on your right and the rancher standing behind your. If your willing to wait a bit the bar can usually serve you food. When it doubt, go to the Mint. Trust me, it is as good as it gets in the Last Best Town in the Last Best Place.

Aren't your favorite places just off the main drag? This breath of fresh air in Lewistown is well worth going a block further! Excellent service, cool air, neat and clean, marble tables. And to think I almost didn't venture in thru the front door because I thought it would be a smoky, noisy Montana bar. Hah! And the food--tres magnifique!

Oh, deliciousness. The Mint is quite a gem in this town. Although the menu is not extensive, the food is absolutely delicious - and the number of specials probably nearly doubles the menu! Although I haven't yet been anywhere else to eat in town, I would imagine that the prices are a little higher than some of the surrounding restaurants. However, you're definitely getting your money's worth! I was in a bit of a trance after coming here due to a long day of field work in the brutal sun and heat, and this certainly hit the spot. I ordered the chicken and artichokes - the cream sauce with mushrooms was absolutely amazing and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The side of vegetables included zucchini and green beans (also perfectly cooked) covered in a little bit of shredded parmesan. The roasted whole potatoes on the side were quite possibly the best part of the meal - how on earth can they make them SO yummy? If I happen to be in the area again, I definitely know where I'm going!

Recommended by the hotel. We went there at 6:30 PM. We were told by the hostess that there was at least an hour and a half wait. We could see empty tables. Snob attitude in rural Montana.....really?
