Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant. From the wait staff to the food. If you want Tex Mex with a high school kid serving you go to a chain restaurant lol. Part of the enjoyment of this place is the very little English speaking staff. I saw a review saying the rice was bland. That is true Mexican rice. "Authentic". We are a recent move and was lucky to come across this place. First try! The chips and salsa are excellent, salsa has onions and spices. The guacamole is to die for! The margaritas are perfect! My fav is the Carnitas! YUMMY! (gonna post pics!) One day we are going to come in just for the desert. Would love to try their fried ice-cream ;). The prices are good too!

This place was a nice place with very pleasant service and some tasty food. I ordered a combo plate that had a chili relleno, chicken enchilada and a beef taco with beens and rice. All was very tasty but the rice was a little bland. The food arrived in a timely manner as well. A buddy of mine ordered a mega-rita and it was pretty huge. He then asked for a mega-long island and let me tell you, this this was a beast. He said they were both very tasty and he was happy. The long island had to be at least 32oz and it was only $12. All in all, nice atmosphere, pleasant service with good food and good drinks. If you like Mexican stop in and give it a try.

Only ONE star? Yes, and here's why. We ordered carryout from here on a Sunday night. The gentleman that took the order had a very thick accent. So much that I couldn't tell if he was speaking Spanish or English. There was about 10 minutes of dialog that I'm almost certain was unintelligible from both parties. This was in addition to 3 minutes worth of silent pauses from his end. That said, I went to pickup the order and it was correct. The hostess was very friendly and clearly not the person I spoke to on the phone. We ordered three beef burritos and one chicken nacho. The burritos were a bit small for the price. Also, they were covered, literally, COVERED in spicy Cheez Whiz sauce. The taste was average at best. I suppose I could be wrong because the only thing I could taste was the Cheez Whiz. The chicken nachos on the other hand were actually pretty decent. However, the aftermath of it all came very close to ruining our vacations. Me and my two buddies were running to the bathroom like junkies running to a corner. The only person who did not blow through rolls of t.p. was my girlfriend. But how you ask? You guessed it. She didn't eat any food from that restaurant. Maybe we were just unlucky but that will be the first and last time I order food from there. La Hacienda = no bueno.

Gave it a second chance last night - NEVER again. The food is bad, the waitresses are terrible and the portions are stingy. I always give everything two tries - this last experience was WORSE than the first one! Go to El Patron on Stateline Road and ask for Julio... you won't be disappointed! :)

I have never had a bad meal here. The mole is some of the best I've had! I'm particularly find of the mole verde. Yummmm. My husband had been hooked on the shredded beef quesadilla lately. (I have to admit I'm always hoping for his leftovers). It's very flavorful. Their table salsa is the chunky kind that I also happen to like.

This was a traditional mexican restaurant, it was fine but I was not impressed. I ordered the mole which is a mexican chocolate dish, it was decent. The chips and salsa are standard. The food is by no means bad, but just average, so this could be a good place if you're not looking to get some solid food but rather just wanna grab some mexican for the night.

The food was pretty average for the traditional Mexican restaurant. The salsa was just okay and the customer service was just okay. There wasn't anything really good about this place, but nothing bad either.

This place is not my "local" eatery being that It's about 15 or more minutes away but I would definitely come back to eat here. My husband and I ate for about $20 but we did take out. He's also not a big fan of Mexican food but he got the steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. I on the other hand LOVE almost any ethnic food and I'm pretty picky about it. The portions were very generous and I would definitely return and possibly sit in if the margaritas are good!

Friday night, didn't want to wait for a table. Visiting Olive Branch and made a last minute decision to give it a try. Solid texmex. The queso and salsa were both very good - salsa was fresh with a good amount of cilantro. Tacos al carbon were very tasty but a little greasy. The taquitos were good. The margaritas were $2.25. I'm picky about my margaritas and was fairly certain I wouldn't like it but I was happily surprised. Pretty ok for $2.25.

It's a good place for an inexpensive lunch but other than that it's ok. I only eat the del mar fajitas which consist of shrimp, steak, and chicken. I have tried their tamales and they are ok. I've had their original margarita before and it was okay, kind of strong but nothing to brag about.

In my opinion La Hacienda is Tex-Mex and not authentic, the seasoning of the food is true essence of Tex-Mex cuisine. All in all, the food was solid and the waitress I had was nice and courteous. But I live in Jackson, MS and we have 50+ restaurants that serve the same fair as La Hacienda didn't do anything to differentiate themselves from the rest of the restaurants in Jackson
