Holy hot fire! Eagle drive in is great! I stopped in here on my way through town and was impressed. I had the mushroom and swiss but substituted lamb in the burger patty and added a quail egg. One of the best burgers AND best uses of lamb I've ever encountered! Huge kudos for that. I'd say the quail egg was cooked just a little more than I'd like, but I probably should have given my preference of runny when I ordered. All burgers are served on an oat topped wheat bun. While normally I don't prefer those since the texture is a little to firm and grainy - these were tasty as could be and perfectly moist while not falling apart. I also had the goulash fries as a side ($2 up charge) and they were tasty, filling, and fantastic. All kinds of tasty flavor and texture. A couple of notes / negatives: We came in with 5 people and there was 1 table set that could accommodate 8 if you were lucky enough to get it. Of the other ~7 or so tables most are for 4 people and can't be brought together - so you may have to split up your group. Also - 2 of the 3 beers on tap were out. Their selection wasn't crap, but wasn't super rare and more than the base 3 would be nice... along with keeping a spare around when you are getting close to the bottom of the barrel. The food was well above and beyond overcoming those couple of negatives to bring this place all the way to the 5 star moon!

What an awesome atmosphere and food. Travel channel must stop here. Bourdain or Zimmern would love it!
(5)M D.
Awesome lamb burger with start of goulash fries. Great beer selection and service was impeccable. This is the only spot to enjoy dinner out in Joplin, period. Fly on Eagle!

Don't let the outside looks, or even the location fool you. This place is awesome. I went with a bunch of co-workers expecting some burgers and beers, but when I looked at the menu, I couldn't believe it. The Eagle Drive-In's menu wouldn't be out of place on NY or LA. The roasted bone marrow with chimmichuri was great and the Eagle Burger was pretty much perfect. I also had a side of mac and cheese with panchetta that was pretty on point. My co-workers sampled the jalapeno margarita, the lamb burger, the tuna melt, the mussels and much more. No a single person left unhappy. I'm not one for venturing out on business trips but I won't say no if we're headed to the Eagle Drive-In.
(5)Connor B.
Great food and service. Eagle sauce was amazing and you can't go wrong with a classic eagle burger.

Trying to find a place for a vegetarian lunch (other than a salad) while driving through Missouri seemed a daunting task. Thanks to Yelp, we found this gem right off I-44. They have a black bean burger (or sub) as well as a falafel burger. Our waiter recommended falafel and it was quite delicious. Large and filling. My husband had the blue cheese burger which he proclaimed the best Burger he's had in a long time. We were only stopping for a quick lunch on the road so no fancy side orders for us - we stuck with fries (too much to finish). However, if we are in the area again, I'd like to try some of their other side dishes. The mac and cheese was particularly appealing. This place is a dinky little hole in the wall that I would have never given a 2nd look had it not been for Yelp. So glad we found this place.
(5)Richard B.
Fantastic...the drive in diner theme does not do it justice. this is a foodie stop, great modern noshy foods, burgers - bone marrow great craft beers on tap A must try if your in the area or a tourist driving by...easy access on/off 44

Yall need to come into the Eagle and enjoy the food here. Friendly staff delicious food. I am coming back.

Don't let the burger shack exterior fool you, once you get inside, this is a delightful little hipstery gourmet burger joint. The menu has a delightfully diverse selection of burgers (cow, elk, bison, and lamb are your meat options), and a whole bunch of other tasty things. The bar also features a draft beer selection seldom seen in a joint this small, and even many larger places. Was hopping for lunch on a tuesday when we stopped in on our way through town, at the recommendation of a local friend who is a regular, and it did NOT disappoint. I had the Bo Peep burger, a delicious combination of lamb, tzatziki, red onions, feta cheese, and a tomato that was way more ripe and delicious than anyone has a right to expect in the middle of March. The burger patty itself was cooked to perfection, and every bit as tender as the bun.
(5)Jes C.
One time I went there still in scrubs after a rough day at work so I could meet a friend and vent a little. The server overheard and gave me a 10% bad day discount underscoring that this is just one of those businesses that isn't just invested in quality food but in hiring and supporting good people. It made my day way better.
(5)Jeffrey S.
This hurts. The food is good. However, this place isn't ready for anything more than a smattering of business. On the occasion I was there, I waited over an hour for a burger and fries. Yes, they were busy, but isn't that to be expected when the rain finally stops and the sun shines? The staff was unapologetic and disinterested.

This restaurant is a great addition to the local scene in Joplin. The food is fantastic no doubt about it. The restaurant is very small and the food takes forever to come out if the place is packed. Waiting 40+ minutes on some burgers and fries for a party of four is quite long.I went through 3 cups of coke before I got my food. Despite the long wait time, I'd still come back....preferably on a slow day.
(4)Kay K.
I have to say, the food was pretty amazing. Visiting from out of town and this was nearby with high reviews. So of course, we were curious. From the outside it looks like a little shack.. Inside, it's cozy and cute. I ordered the Eagle burger with fries that came with my choice of garlic aioli sauce. Fries were fresh and hot. The burger was tasty with the quail egg and their eagle sauce.. The patty was a little over cooked for me but it was still delcious and very filling. Only small problem was they seem to be under staffed. Don't know if it was just this time or day (Thursday evening), but it took almost an hour to get our food. Felt kind of bad for the one waiter working. I'd come back if ever in this town again.
(4)Roger B.
Got lucky finding this place on the way through town! I had Joplin's Spiciest burger. It was fantastic! My wife said the black bean burger was the best she's EVER had...and the kids devoured the Goulash Fries super fast! Our server was courteous and quick. She even brought our dog a water bowl :) We will definitely be back!
(5)Deborah A.
Very friendly staff. The jalapeño margaritas are tasty and the menu although small is diverse. Overall, I will visit again when I am craving a buffalo birger. Yum

This is a WEAK 3 I had high hopes for this place, but they fell short on a number of reasons. Some of it has to do with my personal expectations, but others were simply unacceptable. This place is tiny, and it already had all the tables filled (they didnt have that many). We sat at the bar, and I ordered an eagle Burger with goulash fries as my side. I also ordered a jalapeno infused margarita, since it sounded cool. The margarita tasted like an alcoholic gatorade, with no real jalapeno flavoring. And then I waited. And waited. And waited until I received my meal 70 minutes later. I dont expect fast food speeds, but c'mon! The burger and fries came out, and I was a bit dissapointed. The burger tasted just like a homemade burger I would have at a cookout. this is not necessarily a bad thing, but the non grilled bun, cold vegetables, and not piping hot meat was not what I expected. The goulash fries were basically chili mac and garlic sauce drizzles on top of fries. They were good, but also not what I expected texture wise. I was expecting more a cheese fries texture. I wanted this place to be awesome, but it wasnt. If I was back in Joplin, I probably would not eat here. I almost gave this place 2 stars, but the food was still decent.
(3)Courtney M.
We had the all you can eat korean tacos and jalapeno margaritas. We waiting about 15 minutes to get service, The drinks were good but to spicy for my Husband. The tacos were ok, good flavor BUT 2 small pieces of beef on the taco was slaw. We most likely will not be back
(3)Gulshan U.
We just moved from Dallas, and I believe that I have tasted of fair share of good restaurants. Frankly I was not impressed when I saw the restaurant from outside. The seating inside is very crowded with a poor ambiance. But the food is mind blowing. This is the best bean burger I ever ate served with excellent crispy fries. My friend had a mushroom burger and loved it. the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. We will be back here to try more things on the menu. For food this place deserves five-star, but I limited it to 4* because of the location.
(4)Garen M.
Recommended by family so we made a stop while travelling through Joplin. From the looks of the exterior, I thought we were in for an old fashioned burger shop, but when you open the door, the place is a hipster, trendy eating place with an interesting selection of foods. We had the Eagle burger and a chicken sandwich. Both were well prepared and delicious. Their fries and salads were excellent. We were driving so we didn't have any of their craft beers, but they had an excellent choice. The service was excellent, it was clean, and the owner was very interested to know about our experience. This was a highlight meal on our long weekend trip. I will stop again.
(4)Chuck H.
I am glad to find this jewel of a local restaurant before Food Network! I loved the Vegas steak sandwich- best I've had in recent memory. I'd definitely get it again. The Goulash Fries were very good and HUGE - we couldn't eat two entrees and sides after that big appetizer! Very small dining room but we arrived at a slow time. Meals are cooked to order so this is NOT fast food or like anything else on the highway! Wish we had something like this at home!
(5)Rachelle P.
2 very different experiences: 1st time - Absolutely amazed by the food. The place appeared to be a total dive, but the food was awesome! Best fries I've ever had. Lots of good vegetarian options. Good beer selection. Indoor/outdoor seating. Large portions. Good service. 2nd time- soooo hot inside! Music was so loud the server didn't hear my order (tree hugger sub) and served me fries only (the side to the sub). Wine is overpriced. Service was subpar. Still, all in all, I'd go back.
(4)Scott W.
You will not be disappointed. Food is eclectic and delicious. Easy on and off from I-44 and worth the trip from Grand Lake if you need a break from water skiing/fishing. Chipotle Hummus was a great start - smoky and spiced just right. Italian Burger with pesto aioli received a definite thumbs up from the better half. Jo Mo Po Bo with calamari was incredible. Four dipping sauces for the frys! The Blueberry BBQ was incredible. Oh yeah, Jalapeno Margarita rocks! Craft beer selection is not extensive but very good.
(5)Cristi M.
Worth a drive and a wait! Excellent! Donut burger, blue cheese bacon burger, fries, Eagle burger, mac and cheese, grilled cheese and candy bar pie. Dipping sauce perfection. Just go! Not fast but it takes time for good food. Go, have a drink and get ready for burger heaven.
(5)Jarrod W.
Prime rib on Saturdays! Had mine with an Eagle salad and escalloped potatoes. Get this.
(5)C B.
If you like a healthy dollop of fat, start with the bone marrow. It's excellent. Huge portions for $10 that would be triple this price in a larger city. I got the "Spiciest" burger and a side salad. The salad was great. The "Eagle sauce" that comes with it is OK. Chunks of pork belly and feta on top make it a damn good salad. The burger was loaded with jalapeños and spicy corn and bean salsa. Delicious. Spicy and flavorful. The service was VERY slow, owing in part to the fact that we only saw one waiter the whole time we were there. We waited almost an hour for our entrees to arrive. It's the only reason this place doesn't get five stars. The food is excellent and well worth the price.
(4)Kim M.
Stopped by on our way through Joplin. Delicious fresh food. My kids all commented on how the kids meals were made with good quality food and were delicious. Burgers are delicious as well as that yummy Mac and Cheese side.
(5)Karena B.
Great Food...if they ever bring it to you. There is a serious problem with efficiency. Do not go here if you have to be anywhere else that day...
(2)Jason D.
I never would have imagined that this place would end up being one of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten at! Menu is loaded with off the wall options, from the Land and Sea BLT to the Lamb meat burger! Food is off the chart good, and the staff is great. Cannot record highly enough.
(5)Courtney R.
Took a long time to get our food as there was only one waitress but once the food came...OMG totally worth the wait! So good! And the price is right!
(5)J M.
Great burgers! Great craft beer selection! Same people own Instant Karma hot dogs in downtown Joplin. We love both! Bison burgers delicious & bison can be hard to get right. Our wait was only about 12 mins for our food. Can be longer on really busy times or if several tables come in at once. Jo Mo Po Bo outstanding also! We'll be back.
(5)Kenton F.
Some of the best food in Joplin, and the best server. They are upgrading from a burger house to a burger and steak house. Have the best fries around served with fabulous dipping sauces.
(5)Michelle A.
Delicious! Can't believe this hidden gem is in Joplin, MO. We had the hummus with freshly made tortilla chips, along with the Salmon Rushdie, Flat Iron Steak Salad, Bison Burger and Ahi Tuna Melt. We enjoyed every bite! Our daughter suggested we stop again on our way home from our trip.
(5)Ashton E.
Best place in Joplin. Great service. Great food. Good price. Try their blueberry BBQ sauce! It's totally worth the $0.50. Prices $8-$13.
(5)Kaitlyn A.
Looks pretty shady from the side of the road, but it's worth the trip. Unique beer. Little seating, but just don't go at a rush and you will be fine.
(4)Tim B.
This is my third time here. Ive had a burger, prime rib and now the all you can eat tacos. The burger and prime rib were top notch, as well as the tacos on Tuesday. My only complaint is the service is very slow. Tonight there were two servers and 5 tables. It took 20 min to get menus. The servers were not knowledgable of the menu and didnt know if sides came with the tacos.
(3)Melissa B.
The food here is delicious! The burgers are tastey and they have an array of different burgers for you to try, right down to what you want in your burger patty! Their fries are hand cut and delicious, and their chili cheese fries are rad as hell! They even go as far as to make their own chili, and it all comes together to make a great meal. If we lived locally, we would be coming here regularly. Sadly, we are only passing through on our way back to California, but I will definitely be making a stop here the next time I come through Missouri!
(5)Karen L.
Great little place. Just in town for a week and stopped in here. Wouldn't have given it a second look if not for Yelp, but it's well worth going. Husband had the burger -- juicy, perfectly cooked, with delicious fries. The steak was cooked the way I ordered it and the salad was a mix of interesting greens. They serve "eagle sauce" with everything and it's a great complement to all their foods. The service is friendly and professional.
(4)Justin M.
Best burger I have had from a restaurant in a very long time. I always take my friends to this place that are new in town as well as guests I have in for work lunch. The service is slow but the food is worth the wait. Never had a bad meal from the seafood to the hummus it is great. Hand cut fries are amazing...and always get the Eagle Sauce and ask for extra.
(5)Dale H.
I've never cared much about burgers, and almost never order one when we go out to eat, but when I found myself at this very small roadside restaurant I felt compelled to order the Eagle Burger ... and I'm so happy I did. I can honestly say that this was the best darn burger I've ever had! It's a thick beef patty covered with American, Cheddar, and Swiss cheese, mixed greens, a thick slice of tomato, red onion, pickles, a fried quail egg, and Eagle Sauce, all held together by a light sesame seed bun. It came with a big pile of delicious fries and two dipping sauces. I chose the Eagle sauce, and the tzatziki. It was enormous ... and tasty. It was so big that I had to use a fork and knife to eat it without making a mess. The burger was cooked to perfection, and all the toppings worked together so well. Don't let the unremarkable exterior fool you. It's a tiny place and would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it. Also, be prepared to have a hard time choosing something on the menu. There are quite a few meals there I was tempted to order. I have family that moved to Joplin, so I'll be visiting from time to time, and the Eagle Drive-In will be on my list of "must visit" restaurants when I'm in town!
(5)Libby B.
The food here is outstanding. Very crowded and busy, but worth the wait. Would definitely return.
(4)Greg A.
Glad I checked Yelp and found this hidden gem. Juicy burgers with original, creative spins. Guy in charge is nice as well. Don't be fooled by the simple outside, the atmosphere inside is comfortable, upbeat, and inviting.
(4)Mary J.
What an amazing find! Easy access from Hwy. 44 & well worth the effort. Fabulous burger and sides! We're used to good food from home (No. Ca. Bay Area), so we usually don't expect much from a road trip through the mid-west - this place could hold it's own anywhere!
(5)Ali M.
Eagle Drive In is my favorite place in Joplin. They are reasonably priced, and the food is always excellent. The quality and freshness of their food is unbeatable. They always have an awesome special going as well. The only downfall is that it is very small, but once you are seated they are quick to get your food and drinks out to you.
(5)Bruce U.
Great food & value and friendly service, a real gem of a little local joint! I very much enjoyed the "spicy bacon bison burger" and side salad. Really glad I checked Yelp before settling for Olive Garden in the commercial area a mile away, I love this kind of local spot.
(5)Kathie S.
Delicious food! Don't pass by just because the outside looks like a dive. You will be greeted by friendly staff, rolled napkins and silverware at the table. My husband and I each had a burger, mine with fries his with prime rib chilli. Food was incredible. We will be back on our drive from the Midwest to the South.
(5)Craig F.
What a great find right off the interstate. Excellent food with unique flavors and tremendous selection of burgers, sandwiches and salads. Our waiter Brian was very friendly, timely and made great recommendations. I had the Bo Peep Burger with Mac and Cheese and the wife had Eagle Salad with a side of fries. All food was perfect. Highly recommend this place!!
(5)Melena K.
Excellent food and great service. It was an easy location right off I-44. This will be a regular stop any time we pass that way. Don't be fooled by the outside the burgers and sandwiches are gourmet quality and they had very good vegetarian options.
(5)David G.
What can I say; they got me from Led Zeppelin on Pandora! Endless classics hand picked by Hazel and sung by Sara. Quite well I may say Sat at the bar and had great local draft craft(s) and took it all in. Wonderfully cozy. Now the food, off the hook.! Seared Ahi tuna appetizer perfect with 2 homemade dipping sauces. Lamb burger and hand cut fries OMG. Casual fine dining!
(5)Melanie O.
Absolutely fantastic! Large menu selection. Mushroom swiss burger cooked perfectly and tremendously juicy loaded with mushrooms and topped with generous helping of garlic aoli sauce. Fries crispy and well seasoned. Scrumptious dipping sauces; horseradish mayo my favorite. Side salad full of luscious spring greens. Yelp showed restaurant closed on a Sunday which was not accurate. Wait staff was very accommodating and quick. Full bar and two televisions too. Small establishment with a dozen tables and bar top. Family friendly. Would definitely recommend!
(5)John B.
Always want to try something else. But still always go with the #6 Burger. Very good! Every time!!!
(5)Jordan T.
Awesome, great food, a little pricey but well worth it for the quality, variety of food offered. The burgers are fresh and many different selections of proteins, like buffalo, elk, lamb and beef. The selection of add ons can make your meal very interesting, with qual eggs, and a good selection of sauces to choose from you can stack your burger high with flavors that pop! The calamari is great, highly recommended. And every side is worth trying. They open at 11 so get yourself a great lunch with a good selection of beers.
(5)Cody P.
Eagle Drive In is my favorite place to go sit down for a good burger. I usually get a regular cheeseburger with eagle sauce and it's always fantastic. A burger itself is filling but if you have a big appetite give the steak fries a try. Fries served with slices of sirloin and blue cheese = heaven on earth. The ONLY downside is going during a lunch or dinner rush as the building isn't very big so it could get cramped.
(5)Greg S.
Great food, we stopped in on a road trip and they allowed us to do take out. It only took 10 minutes to get the food and the staff were all very nice
(5)Pamela R.
went for lunch and it was amazing. the chili cheese fries are to die for with the prime rib chili .. went back for dinner and totally different experience. black and blue ribeye was paper thin and way over cooked. I asked for mid rare and got at least mid well. It was freezing in the restaurant and they did not care. Got my wine server in a Collins glass. She did say all the wine glasses had been broken. Great for lunch . Avoid dinner at all cost.
(3)Craig F.
Stopped here after seeing great reviews on yelp. I can say it was even better than the glowing reviews indicated. I had a black and bleu bacon burger and paid for the 2 dollars to upgrade to goulash fries. The burger was perfect as far as taste, but I did wish I had gotten an extra patty. The goulash fries however, were unbelievable. I will be here every time I am in town, without question.
(5)Laura C.
hands down amazing food. best high quality meat. they really care about their food and how it is made. gourmet. my favorites are the regular hamburger and corn and black bean salsa. to die for!!! the only downside is very very slow service, so don't be too hungry or thirsty because the server probably won't be with you for 15 minutes at a time. but I keep going back because the food is worth the wait.
(4)Mac C.
When driving through through most of the country, it can be difficult to find vegetarian options, let alone good vegetarian options. We had the black bean salad and the black bean burger, they have other choices, we were just in a black bean kind of mood. The sauces were unique and flavorful and the mixed greens were fresh. (Everything seemed very fresh which is really important to us.) The grilled cheese got the stamp of approval from our daughter also. Thank you Eagle Drive-In! We'll be back to try the falafel.
(5)Whitney D.
Thanks yelp for the killer recommendation. We enjoyed our meal here and were blown away by the unexpectedness of this little place. Definitely would stop by again when we travel through.
(5)Cassandra D.
5 stars for me is when I am completely happy with a meal. I found this place on yelp and it was a perfect stop in our road trip. Close to the highway, they had nice outdoor seating, which was perfect for us since we had dogs. They had nice decor and loved the small atmosphere. If we lived in Joplin We this would be a regular spot. Okay the food, killer hamburger juicy not your plain burger, soft bun perfectly cooked. We also had the Mac and Cheese which had a bit of spice and nice and cheesy. My favorite thing was the dipping sauce we liked the eagle sauce but the garlic aioli was amazing. I cleaned the bowl!! Great place hope we can make it on the way back.
(5)Chris J.
Great food! Amazing service! We stopped in on our way home from Branson and was very impressed. The reviews are spot on... Small, cozy, tasty.... Perfect. You can't pass up the chance to try it out.
(5)Chi W.
My family traveled a little over an hour to the Joplin area and decided to try out this well rated establishment. I wanted to like this place because of the slightly eclectic items on the menu. The "Salmon Rushdie" gave me a laugh and if I didn't hate salmon, I probably would have ordered it. Service was nice and friendly but the food took a while to come out. In our family of 5, the 2 vegetarians liked what they ordered but I found the calamari appetizer somewhat doughy (though surprisingly perfectly cooked). The falafel balls were also doughy, firm and not crispy enough. The mac and cheese sides were cheesy but somehow flavorless and unpleasant to 3 of us meat eaters. My blue cheese and bacon burger was tasty but I felt it was too saucy. The hand cut fries were very good. The hummus was oddly lumpy but tasted ok. I think I like the traditional hummus better. Was the place good enough to come back to? yes, but I won't go out of my way to visit them again. I think they have pretty good potential so if you're considering this place, give them a go. They have a nice mix of selections.
(3)Brian C.
Great gourmet burgers! They need more seating though - we have been a few times but would go more if we knew we wouldn't show up disappointed because we couldn't get a table.
(4)Brett M.
Great selection of food and good taste. Laid back atmosphere and great service. Try a variety of their fry dipping sauce.
(4)Marty R.
Hot spicy burger was fine. Mac & cheese was very tasty but I prefer a more saucy style. This was melted cheese and pancetta fat (Italian bacon). My brother loved his steak and it was cooked to perfection. My sister in law loved her cheese burger. The chili was great too.
(4)Elana L.
This is a very unique Burger joint that has a variety of burgers to choose from. You can try the traditional beef burger, or you can go with Elk, Lamb, Bison or a number of other burgers. Now, on to the fries....typically I dislike homemade fries because they are usually super greasy, soggy and taste burned. The fries here are homemade and very good! They do have an amount of grease on them, but they are cooked perfectly and have just the right amount of salt on them. YUM!
(4)Chyna M.
The only reason this didn't get 5 stars was it took a long time (an hour) to get our food. But it was really tasty and our Waiter was excellent. I had a plain burger with a quail egg on top. Tasty. My husband had a Buffalo burger and loved it. Excellent !
(4)Dianna S.
I've eaten here a few times, most recently last night. It truly is a unique place - not your average burger joint. The outside of the restaurant is very unassuming. Looks like an old rundown diner with a few umbrella tables out front. But do not let the outside fool you. What you get when you walk in the door is the complete opposite of what you'd expect. The burgers on the menu are gourmet and definitely something special. The restaurant is very small, maybe 10 tables, so it gets full pretty quickly. I'm not really sure what they do if there is a line of people waiting, as there are only two chairs in the "waiting area." As for the food, this is what we had: Appetizer - Roasted Bone Marrow with Chimichurri Sauce and Toast Points I have never had bone marrow before, but I have heard that it is quite a delicacy/special treat. I'm not sure how many people order this, but it's been on the menu for over a year so I'm assuming there is a clientele for it. It's definitely on the weirder side of the things I've eaten. Kind of scared me a little when it came out, two big bones artfully displayed on the plate. But you know what? It was pretty tasty. An extremely rich, deep flavor and the Chimichurri went so well with it. I'm very glad I tried it. My husband has had bone marrow before, and he said this one was very good. Entree - Falafel Burger with mac 'n cheese (me) and Oyster Po Boy with Eagle Salad (husband) First of all, let me say I am not a vegetarian. But I tend to order a lot of vegetarian things. So when I ordered the vegetarian Falafel Burger, then asked for the mac 'n cheese (which had pancetta in it), my server asked if I was vegetarian. I do appreciate that, because I have a vegetarian friend who gets served meat on accident all the time. The burger itself was pretty substantial. Had a delicious drizzle of tzatziki sauce on top which really set it off. The mac 'n cheese was pure comfort food and really delicious. Just an FYI - this is not a creamy mac 'n cheese, but of the stringy, baked cheese variety. That may make a difference to some. I did not taste my husbands fried oyster po boy but he said it was very good. And he ate his Eagle Salad (with special Eagle dressing) like it was a bowl of chocolate ice cream. There are other things on the menu besides burgers, but it is primarily a burger joint. There are a couple of hot dog items, flat iron steak, and ahi tuna. So definitely come try everything. So far we've never had anything we didn't like.
(4)Jamie R.
This place is great, it's one of the places I always suggest to friends visiting from out of town. Very small dine-in area, but there is outside seating as well. Service can be very slow, but it's worth the wait. I've had a bunch of different burgers, and nothing has disappointed. If you're vegetarian I suggest the falafel burger, the house-made tzatziki is excellent. No matter what you order, be sure to get some fries with Eagle sauce for dipping. Delicious! This is a great place if you're adventurous, they have a lot of exotic meats and unusual dishes (unusual for a burger place). Locally owned, and everyone there is really nice. Highly recommended.

Thanks to the great reviews on Yelp, we took a detour on our way home to St Paul. The outside is a classic old time drive in dinner. The inside is a throw back retro to a new 60's era. The patrons were anyone from granola cruncher to up scale couples. Now the food, just as reviewed, it was wonderful. The menu was anything from burgers to prime rib and a huge vegetarian selection. I ordered the chili cheeseburger with scalloped potatoes. The chili was meaty with a nice flavor, that was not too spicy. The burger was cooked perfectly, moist and juicy. The potatoes were cheesy and flavorful, they had a nice russet flavor and didn't disappoint. My wife had the Eagle burger and again the burger was wonderful and flavorful. The toppings were fresh and plentiful and the bun was firm to hold it all together. She had the house fries, which were a huge serving, crisp and hot. Our daughter had the No Cheese Cheeseburger. The patty was meaty, moist and flavorful. She had the house fries and they hit the spot with her. The waitstaff was right on with service, they were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return for another trip. Thank you Yelp for turning us on to this little gem.

Drove by this place numerous times, thought it was a bar. Some friends talked me into eating here. Loved the fries and i had a bbq burger that contained blueberry in the bbq sauce. It was good. Did remive the yard shavings from the burger (some type of lettuce). There was just too much. Will come back to try other dishes.

Driving through and looking for good place for lunch. This is about the last 'big' city before Tulsa. Sandwiches and sides were very good, service was quick and friendly.
(4)Matt R.
The place is small and the worst part of the trip was waiting on a table to clear so we could sit down. After that the service was pretty good, during the busy time the waitress seemed to be a little over extended, but she handled it well. I had the eagle burger it was fantastic cooked perfect and the favors were excellent. The bun was so light and tasty. The quail egg was was a nice richness to the burger. I can't wait to go back and try something else. And if you want to try something a bit different I would suggest the beef bone marrow very rich but very good.
(4)Bob V.
Wow! Very surprised! First time in with wife and kids tonight and just thought we were going to get greasy burgers. Not at all. Bison, Lamb and other items. Steak was cooked perfectly and the Blue Cheese and Bacon Burger hit the spot. Will definitely go back often.
(4)Thomas P.
This is a cool little burger joint and if your not looking for it, you will definitely miss it. They serve burgers, dogs, and salads. I tried the #6 Burger which was ground elk with Swiss and caramelized onions. I also added a quail egg and bacon. The only problem I had was they didn't offer a temperature range. I never eat steaks or burgers "well done" unless I absolutely have to (which is usually never)and if they consider their burgers "gourmet" which they do have labeled on the menu, then they should offer to cook burgers to customer's liking. They forgot my quail egg and when it came out, it might as well been part of an omelet they cut a piece off instead of a sunny-side up egg, which is what all gourmet burgers typically have. They have lamb, bison, beef, and veggie burgers too. The fries the burgers came with were awesome! Perfectly crunchy and seasoned! I also tried their prime rib chili. The meat seemed tougher than I was expecting and it had some unusual cuts of onions and meat but had a good flavor. The place is tiny, with less then 10 tables inside and a few outside and really only needs one person serving, however, at times the service had really long wait times. Aside from the minor bumps, I would be willing to go back and try the other item.

I'm overdue rating this one as first time there was months ago. Loved it! There is literally something for everyone's unique tastes here. Party of three. Everyone leaves happy, satisfied, full and eager to return!

Don't let the exterior turn you away. We pulled in for lunch after checking YELP and had a fabulous lunch! Hubby had burger and fries and I went paleo with the steak salad. Hand formed burger patty and hearty multi grain bun. Several burgers available.....elk and bison. The place was packed on a Tuesday at noon.....only 8 tables and a short counter........easy access from the 44 freeway........
(5)Brandon M.
Easily the best burgers in the Joplin area! The jalapeno margarita is awesome if you like spicy things......locally owned and home made food!
(5)Jeff H.
Great burgers and sides... the outside masks the surprisingly high-quality food. I would like to see a few more draft taps. I'll definitely be back!
(4)Scott L.
We found this place via Yelp on our way home from the Lake of Ozarks to Texas. What a great find!!! This is our first review on Yelp and ironically comes from my wife pestering me to do it (ironic, b/c she shuns social media). Back to the food.... Burgers were FANTASTIC! Our family ordered: Bacon Blue Cheese Burger, which had the biggest chunks of blue ever and really thick bacon, the lamb burger with tzatziki sauce which was delicious and the Iron Cheddar Jalapeño Burger. The cheddar cheese was crisped on the griddle with jalapeños grilled into the cheese. Our kids loved the hotdogs with the best mac n' cheese on top. They had a great side salad with yummy house Eagle dressing. We would definitely stop there again should we be driving through. Restaurant is small, but has tons of character.
(5)Corbin C.
Wow! The Eagle burg is fantastic and it's even better with a side of jalapeños! And when Susan is waiting is, she makes everything better. Come and try the goulash fries!
(5)Adam B.
Really impressed with Eagle Drive In. Everything was super fresh and made from scratch. I had the eagle burger, which was delicious. Couldn't quite see or taste the quail egg though (my only semi-complaint). The fries were stellar and the homemade Eagle sauce and aioli were fantastic. If I am near Joplin again, I will for sure be stopping in for a delicious burger. Way to go EDI and props to Joplin for the great cuisine!
(4)Craig S.
Okay, you never know when traveling how a place will be but I've got to admit the Bacon Blue Burger is great, especially with the grilled onions on top and the fries are excellent as well. I have to drive past Joplin again in a couple of days and I'm already considering hitting this little gem again.
(5)dennis d.
WOW, found this place on the way home from Table Rock looking for a nonchain old school burger and found burger heaven. They grind their own and have incredible menu, great fries, lively mac n cheese...the blue cheese bacon burger was 5 star...someone call diners, drive ins and dives. This place ROCKS... weather was good so we ate on the picnic tables outside...service was awesome....this is a true find
(5)Carrie L.
Gourmet food at this hidden oasis! Great food, great service! Well worth giving it a try! You will be back!!
(5)John B.
Food is definitely excellent. Very humble setting but don't be fooled, the food is first rate. My one critique is with the fries, though natural cut and great, they are just too salty. Not in a terrible way but noteworthy. The Eagle burger is great. Look forward to trying a more adventurous burger next time The wife had the special, a tilapia wrap. It was incredible! EAT HERE!
(4)Allen R.
The good- Great selection of burgers from bison to elk topped with much more than just ketchup and mustard. The bad- Some like the fries here, I didn't. I don't like greasy, soggy fries and that is what I got twice. The third time I came I got the mac n' cheese and it was equally unimpressive. It was drenched in really bad cheese and then obviously nuked in a microwave that didn't help any. It just wasn't fresh at all. That is my only knock on the place though. It's still definitely worth a stop for something much more than just an average burger. It's a little on the pricey side as well for just burgers and fries.
(4)Dean L.
Lived in Joplin only four years, and has been our favorite place to eat out. Small, unassuming exterior, great friendly service, and wonderful burgers. Not your usual fare. Have a quail egg on your burger, or try the spicy Eagle sauce. Lamb and Buffalo also on the menu. Two types of veggie burgers also available. My favorite is the #6, but only if you have a big appetite.
(5)Robie M.
Make this your next Joplin food destination. Unique and delicious. If you're simply driving by and decide to pull in, you'd never guess what lies beyond the simple exterior. Burger heaven. I promise you'll make a return trip.
(5)D M.
Wowser-Dowser - This is one outstanding burger place. Sure glad my wife said lets eat here. We were heading down I-44 from St. Louis to Tulsa when she looked in Yelp for places to eat in the Joplin area. After reviewing 5 or so places she said lets eat at Eagle and I agreed based on the reviews and ratings. The menu contains various gourmet hamburger selections, all looking yummy, with a selection of toppings and sides to choose from. Also salads and no less than 7 or more dipping sauces to use with the fries or on the hamburger. The burger is 1/2 pound on a very large bun. The helping of fries is a nice large helping as well as one of the side choices. Yes, the noise level was pretty high but the place is very small with music cranked up and patrons trying to talk over the music. Being hard of hearing my wife and read each others lips but the food is the main focus here. This will be a must stop anytime we are traveling along this route.
(5)Todd G.
Sucks that it took me so long to find this place. But what a menu! From the blueberry BBQ sauce and the Eagle sauce, to the falafel burger and french fries. Even their side salad is good. The service is personal and swift. If you're in, or even out of the area passing by, you must visit this place. There is not a huge selection of quality restaurants in Joplin, but a few are worth going out of your way for: this is one of them. PS) It's the same owners as the Karma Gourmet Hot Dogs downtown--another place worth trying!
(5)Austin C.
Went here entirely because of all the great Yelp reviews.. I guess Joplin his hurting for burger joints because this place was nothing special. Mac and Cheese was just OK as was the burger. One server for the entire place so don't expect speedy refills or service. I won't go out of my way to return, lot's of other places to try next time I'm in Joplin
(3)Ron F.
A little pricey, BUT very good fare, for sure ... If you're a "foodie", this is a great place for you.
(4)Liz E.
Exceptional food and service.Very clean,a weekly treat my husband and I enjoy.
(5)Eric P.
Everything I've ordered at this place has been delicious. I you're a burger fan and they have "the Missourian" on special, give it a try. The only down side is that they can get pretty busy and they take a while to get you the food. As long as your not on a tight schedule it's worth it.
(5)Brityn B.
Excellent! Very non-assuming from the curb, but once you walk in you know it's going to be good. Hand cut fries, salad with eagle sauce is delicious! Great selection of brews and unique burgers. This will be a regular stop whenever we're in town.
(5)Jonathon B.
Our family was travelling and arrived in Joplin late, tired, and hungry. Thanks to Yelp, we found the Eagle Drive In. The burgers were amazing, and only eclipsed by the different sauces offered. The blueberry barbecue sauce was a real hit, and our burgers were better than many we've eaten for twice the price. Great service and a casual atmosphere. We left with smiles on our faces, and full tummies. The Eagle will be the yardstick by which our family measures burgers for a long time.
(5)Eric P.
I had the Buffalo Bill, an elk burger with mixed greens and a killer blueberry barbeque sauce. This is the place to go if you are a fan of Triple D with Guy Fieri. I will be making this a regular stop when I am in Joplin.
(5)MO Mike L.
Old School Hamburger Joint. Really good food.
(4)Nate M.
Good food, great prices, friendly servers. Worth your time to check this place out.
(4)Jerry G.
I highly recommend going to this restaurant. don't let the outside fool you. It's really a unique, classy menu. Awesome salads and burgers in addition to hand cut fresh french fries with tasty "dipping" sauces...the wasabi was my favorite. I like grilled onions on my burger. What did I get? Caramelized malbec marinated onions on my special of the day bison burger. I'm getting sooo ferklempt! I'm glad the plates were rectangular because it made it easier to lick them ;-) We found the place on Yelp as we were about to pass through Joplin. It's easy access from I 44 so we decided to check it out. Glad we did!
(4)Staci H.
We're new to Joplin and found Eagle Drive-In via Yelp. The food was delicious and there are two great vegetarian/vegan options. Service was great! The food is a little pricey, but totally worth it!
(4)Fred W.
We eat here frequently and the food and is always excellent. Great value for the price.
(5)Danny B.
Very good food at a reasonable price.. A pleasant change for Joplin!
(5)Wess B.
Fantastic little cafe - with interesting food of all types. Jalapeno margaritas were wonderful. The steak was great, and a variety of interesting burgers (elk, bison, lamb) all made for a very unique menu. Service was good. Very out of the ordinary. Decent prices
(5)John H.
Really, really great food. Small place and you may have to wait for a table.
(5)Michelle D.
I am a fan! I love this place and Karma too!
(4)Shelia Y.
Everything is great here! Small but quaint. Servers are awesome considering there is usually one 1 or 2 working and the place is packed. There is outside seating which is a plus for Joplin.
(5)Fred W.
We eat here frequently and the food and is always excellent. Great value for the price.
(5)Danny B.
Very good food at a reasonable price.. A pleasant change for Joplin!
(5)Roger B.
Yum
(4)Gulshan U.
(4)Gill S.
We most likely will not be back
(3)Misty B.
Luck was on our side the day we took a chance on this lil dinner. From the staff to the cool funky inside everything was fantastic. The food out of this world delicious! The menu was exciting and I wanted to try more than I did. If we get back to Joplin we will definitely 100% be back. 2 thumbs up 5 stars scrumptious
(5)Garen M.
(4)Jon F.
(5)Carlos S.
What an awesome atmosphere and food. Travel channel must stop here. Bourdain or Zimmern would love it!
(5)Kevin B.
(5)M D.
Awesome lamb burger with start of goulash fries. Great beer selection and service was impeccable. This is the only spot to enjoy dinner out in Joplin, period. Fly on Eagle!
(4)Connor B.
Great food and service. Eagle sauce was amazing and you can't go wrong with a classic eagle burger.
(5)Kim R.
(5)Patrick D.
Yall need to come into the Eagle and enjoy the food here. Friendly staff delicious food. I am coming back.
(5)Richard B.
Fantastic...the drive in diner theme does not do it justice. this is a foodie stop, great modern noshy foods, burgers - bone marrow great craft beers on tap A must try if your in the area or a tourist driving by...easy access on/off 44
(5)Ian B.
(1)Carly N.
(4)Michelle A.
(5)Kenton F.
Some of the best food in Joplin, and the best server. They are upgrading from a burger house to a burger and steak house. Have the best fries around served with fabulous dipping sauces.
(5)Ashton E.
Best place in Joplin. Great service. Great food. Good price. Try their blueberry BBQ sauce! It's totally worth the $0.50. Prices $8-$13.
(5)Courtney R.
Took a long time to get our food as there was only one waitress but once the food came...OMG totally worth the wait! So good! And the price is right!
(5)Kaitlyn A.
Looks pretty shady from the side of the road, but it's worth the trip. Unique beer. Little seating, but just don't go at a rush and you will be fine.
(4)Melissa B.
(5)Tim B.
(3)Dale H.
(5)Justin M.
(5)Michelle D.
I am a fan! I love this place and Karma too!
(4)Shelia Y.
Everything is great here! Small but quaint. Servers are awesome considering there is usually one 1 or 2 working and the place is packed. There is outside seating which is a plus for Joplin.
(5)Craig F.
(3)Laura C.
hands down amazing food. best high quality meat. they really care about their food and how it is made. gourmet. my favorites are the regular hamburger and corn and black bean salsa. to die for!!! the only downside is very very slow service, so don't be too hungry or thirsty because the server probably won't be with you for 15 minutes at a time. but I keep going back because the food is worth the wait.
Excellent !
(4)Cindy A.
(5)Dianna S.
(3)Corey D.
(4)M Z.
Driving through and looking for good place for lunch. This is about the last 'big' city before Tulsa. Sandwiches and sides were very good, service was quick and friendly.
(4)Tim L.
(4)Kevin O.
I'm overdue rating this one as first time there was months ago. Loved it! There is literally something for everyone's unique tastes here. Party of three. Everyone leaves happy, satisfied, full and eager to return!
(5)Matt R.
(4)Corbin C.
(5)MO Mike L.
Old School Hamburger Joint. Really good food.
(4)Eric P.
I had the Buffalo Bill, an elk burger with mixed greens and a killer blueberry barbeque sauce. This is the place to go if you are a fan of Triple D with Guy Fieri. I will be making this a regular stop when I am in Joplin.
(5)Nate M.
(4)Wess B.
