This is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch that has tons of flavor without being heavy. The carnitas is perfect in just about everything they make, and you've gotta try the sweet corn tamales.

Don't hesitate to grab this food court Mexican fast food fiesta in the downtown St Paul skywalk. I'm giving it 3.0 because I don't give "great for what it is reviews." That's said, this place IS great for what it is. Think of lunch here as an indoor kickass food truck built into a mall. I had the enchilada platter with marinated chicken, black beans and rice. The chicken was food court sumptuous and quite flavorful. Slight taste of cilantro in the optional pico de Gayo set the sour cream off just right. The corn tortilla was a bit dry but edible in light of all the other sauces. If the corn tortillas had been fresh I would have considered scoring this as a 4.0. So, if you're looking for a $9 lunch and don't fancy yourself yourself too cool and elite for the food court, grab lunch here.

I ordered the Wednesday special, doblada with pork. Basically it was yesterday's left over pork cooked in a tortilla. It was so dry and taste like, yes yesterday's left over dry pork. Also it came with old lettuce they call salad. I will never eat here again.

I had a $1 off coupon from their TCF Bank Stadium location during a Gophers tackle football contest so I figured I should try out a "real" location in the Saint Paul Skyway. I ordered the Tamales. These are some fricken ridiculous reviews below me and here's why: La Loma is exactly what you need when you're feeling a hankering for something delicious and can't bear to eat skyway sushi or another submarine sandwich. The tamales are seriously authentic Mexican food and the plethora of Jahritos flavors reinforces the idea that these folks mean business. I found them filling, the pork one being the all-star, and quite inexpensive for a business lunch in the skyway. I'll be going there again. The daily specials are worth trying, but if you're new and just reaching out for the first time, get the pork tamales and you won't be disappointed.

Have eaten here only once, but based on the delicious tamales I know I will be back. I had the chicken tamale platter, and while it cost a bit more than I would like to spend on lunch (almost $10 for the platter plus an orange Fanta) it is comparable to what I would pay almost anywhere else around here for lunch. The quality is higher than Chipotle, imho, and the dining experience seems a bit more relaxed in this food court area than at any Chipotle I have ever been to at lunch. Hurray for finding a new lunch spot!

Great flavor from the pork and corn tamales, just wish there was a little more meat. Guac okay, not exceptional. Glad there is finally a decent choice in the St.Small skyway.

I wanted the tamales but for some unknown reason I ordered the burrito. There was more flavor here than a Chipotle offering for an equally stuffed (maybe a bit larger) burrito. I had the roasted pork and it was awesome. The spicy sauce was perfect but I should have asked for more. At a little less than $7, it was a very filling and flavorful lunch. I would suggest skipping Zantigos and heading here if you don't mind the long lines otherwise show up at 11, you'll be on your way within 5 minutes.

Have been waiting for this outlet of the popular Twin Cities' La Loma to open since they put up the "coming soon" sign months ago and it finally opened today. Luckily I got there before the line wrapped past the food court seating they share with other eateries. If you love authentic tamales you will be fully satisfied. Both of my grandmothers were indifferent cooks at best, but I imagine this is what they'd have served up had they been great cooks, and Mexican. Tried the tamale platter with one chicken and one pork, rice, and black beans-easily enough food for two people or to take home for a second meal as I did. Pork tamales are my personal favorite and this one was pure wonderful on a fork. The chicken was far better than I've had before. Next time I'll ask for double rice as the beans were nothing special. As for sides, I'd spend my last $ on a side of the guacamole and eat it with a spoon. Like most places on the St. Paul skyway they are only open for lunch M-F so that keeps me from giving them 5 stars. Hey, people live down here! (will have to give the frozen tamales a try for the weekends)
