Seriously this place is incredible. The coneys are amazing and the root beer is.... Literally hands down the greatest i've ever had. It's homeade root beer that taste's like a float without the ice cream. You can even get a root beer float! They also sell their root beers not only in medium and large, but you can buy a half gallon or a gallon of that liquid gold. My girlfriend and I are addicted to this place. Get there ASAP if you haven't tried it yet so you can taste all that glorious food! The prices are incredibly reasonable, and the servers are friendly!

I can't believe this place has been here since 1932 and i only just discovered it last year. My review will simply be echoing what others have already said... -THE HOMEMADE ROOTBEER! -THE MICHIGAN SAUCE -THE TRADITION ENJOY!
(4)Tiana O.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. The chili is slightly sweet and it's very good. They also have great root beer. You park your car and they come out to you!
(4)Carmen O.
This place is amazing and a must every time I visit. The chili dogs are unique and incredible. I crave them frequently. They have a slightly sweet taste to them. Bill's also makes their own root beer and man is it good. Best damn root beer I've ever had, even had a friend bring me a jug when he drove here! It's always guys working there, rumor has it they won't hire girls so it doesn't turn into some horny teenage hangout. Yum!
(5)Brittany S.
I absolutely hate hot dogs, but I have a soft spot for bills. The hot dogs don't have that thick skin that disgusts me so much. I love everything about the dog itself, from the taste of the plain dog to chilli, onion and mustard. The buns are perfect too, I love a chewy soft bun. And the root beer, 30 out of 10. If you're in the area you must try them at least once.
(5)Crystal P.
I tried this for the first time a couple days ago as I am always driving by. I was in the mood for a good dog. But if your looking for some fancy hotdog stand with a lot side dishes Bill's is not for you. They are known for their hot dogs and root beer. I had two hot dogs (a chili cheese and chili and onion) they were good not awesome but satisfied my appetite for a hot dog not too mention cheap prices which made it better. I'm usually not a root beer gal but there root beer I could tolerate and drink. It was a little too sweet but better than a&w in my opinion. I would say I would go back here if I was in the mood for some hot dogs and root beer.

Bill's coney dogs are the best in the county! The dogs are real with excellent snap! The Michigan sauce is delicious! It's a completely original, home made, top secret recipe.... You cant get it anywhere else! But THE BEST item on the menu is the home made root beer! They sell it by the gallon and I highly recommend that you take one home with you if you visit.
(5)Laura G.
They only do two things here: coney dogs and root beer, and they've perfected them both! The coneys are fresh, though at times I could use a little more coney sauce, and the root beer is unlike any other I've had. It works great by itself or as a float. Service is fast and efficient, but keep in mind they only take cash. Fear not, the prices are so cheap, you won't need much coin to get a feast at Bill's. The last time we had friends over, the 4 of us ate for less than $20. The location is slightly out of the way, but completely worth it.
(5)Liz W.
Some of the finest root beer I have ever had. Period. It is creamy and sweet as others have said with a distinct snap to it. Take it home and make the best floats and black cows ever. My nieces and nephew get so excited when we get this. The dogs work well enough too as they are good coney type but the root beer is OMG type deliciousness. Definitely a must try in the Ypsi area.
(4)Mark M.
best hot dogs in the world. root beer is pretty darn amazing as well.probably the only thing i miss about ypsilanti!
(5)Rodrick M.
I remember my father taking me here for the first time when I was 5 years old 30 years back. I also remember my father telling me how his father took him as a kid. So naturally when I have a child we will make the visit then as well.I can not eat any other chili dog besides Bills. In fact my father shipped a dozen chili dogs to Arizona for me in a cooler with dry ice. I went to the store and bought some Ruffles plain chips, and some IBC root beer. (the root beer just was not the same) Although after trying to carefully microwave them wrapped in a damp paper towel it just was not the full experience. I will be visiting my home town of Ypsi, and when I do the first stop will be Bill's Drive-In. Thank you for all the years
(5)Wally S.
Bill's Drive-In is one of my favorite Ypsi restaurants. Who can complain about great chili dogs and fantastic homemade root beer. Nothing extravagant here. You park, you're attended to very quickly, you order and your food is at your car in only a few minutes. The hotdogs are great. Just a small amount of unique flavorful chili and some very small chopped onions. Just a perfect tasting dog. Bills has homemade root beer that I would put up against any other root beer. Once again, just the right sweet syrupy taste that makes a root beer good. You need to check out Bill's. You'll be really happy that you did.
(4)Clayton P.
Makes there own root beer, make that with 2 coneys and man what a visit. Love this little slice of heaven.
(5)Kelly V.
My husband and i went here for the first time over the weekend. We had heard about it from others and was glad we finally gave it a try. We both had coneys, chips and rootbeers. The coneys were good but I have to say that the Rootbeer was some of the best I have ever had. I could have easilly taken some home! Super Cheap but great for an afternoon lunch!
(4)Sweet B.
Great dogs, Great Prices, Great Place to eat!
(5)Marcy D.
oh bill's. great classic coney on a super steamy, squishy bun. super creamy home made to die for rootbeer with lots of flavor. and your whole dinner is like $4. best enjoyed in your back yard on a summer evening, though if they open during a warm spot in late winter (as occasionally happens) the unexpected surprise tastes even better. marvelously quick and efficient service.
(5)Dan M.
I like Bill's. It's simple, inexpensive, good, and doesn't pretend to be more than it is. My boy thinks its cool because it is carside service (like Sonic or many places years ago). They offer hot dogs, chips, and some of the best homemade root beer you will ever taste. The hot dogs are basic but decent. The chips are, well, a bag of chips. The root beer is fresh, sweet, creamy goodness. Oh, my. It is served in cold, heavy, glass mugs (as root beer should be, don't you agree?), but you can also buy half gallon and gallons to take home. One note--only take what you will drink that day, because it goes flat very quickly. As an added bonus, a family of 3 can eat here for under $20 with no problem.
(3)David S.
I love this place. No frills...just drive, park, and someone runs out to take your order. All they do is hot dogs and root beer...and they do them great. Nothing fancy with the dogs...your only choices for toppings are chili, mustard, relish, and onions. I work in Detroit and whenever I have a coney fix, I can walk to Lafayette or American Coney. But honestly I rather have Bill's coney any day. And like others have said, they have the best root beer.
(5)Martha V.
I can't believe it is July 24th and we just made our first visit to Bill's of the year. Bill's is a gem. A seasonal establishment, Bill's is drive in or take out only. Order a hot dog with chili and onions. Or order two. And don't miss the root beer - it is homemade and tremendously good. I could drink a whole quart of it. If your order is to eat in your car, you can get the root beer in a glass mug. The service is friendly and efficient, the prices low (four chili dogs and two mugs of root beer are 7 dollars), and while the menu is limited (hot dogs, chili dogs, chips, soda), I would ask why mess with perfection? We have some catching up to do here before Bill's closes for the winter.
(5)Anya P.
Love this place. They have kept it truly simple. The only thing you can order is a hot dog, root beer and chips. And let me tell you, it's the best root beer I've ever had. They make it on site and maintain the secret recipe. (classy) Also as a tip, the big root beer is something like 40oz of drink. I recommend finding a cute partner and splitting the drink romantically with two straws.
(5)Chaely C.
The menu is slim. Hot dogs, chili dogs, root beer. I don't remember but I don't think they even have fries or anything like that. Maybe chips. The good news, though, is that that's the charm of this place. First thing you do is pull up, park & roll down your window. They handle everything else right at your car. They only serve root beer but it's seriously the most amazing root beer I've ever tried. It's got a very smooth vanilla flavor as if it were steeped in ice cream. The chili is a little sweet, a little tangy & while it's nothing ground breaking you can tell that it is homemade. My only real reasons for not giving another star is that I could eat like 10 chili dogs at a time (which is ok because they're cheap) & they're only open seasonally.
(4)Stephanie B.
Solid root beer, that is for sure. Root beer gets a 5 star rating. The chili dogs are so-so. Nothing amazing about them, but they do the job. Another perk of this place is that it is very affordable. I paid just under $5 for 2 chili dogs (if I had 2, they obviously aren't that bad), a bag of chips, and a root beer. The fact that this is a local establishment that keeps it simple bumps it from a 3 star rating to a 4.
(4)Brenda M.
I feel like such a dummy for not reviewing Bill's before! We are there at least once a week during the summer. I love the Root beer, and even though I can't have the sugar, it's worth the risk to drink some of the frosty goodness. Nothing served but dogs with chili, mustard, onion, chips, and root beer. Not that Bill's needs to do anything else. The chili is unique...not quite coney chili, but kind of.......it's hard to explain. I guess you'll have to venture down Michigan Ave. and find out for yourself. And if you see a blue mini van in the parking lot, it's probably my husband and boys, so say hello! The service is quick and efficient...please don't forget to tip the guys that work there!
(4)Casey S.
I've been going to Bill's ever since I was a little girl. I loved it then and I still love it now! Delicious hotdogs, out of this world root beer, car side service, and super cheap prices--what more could you ask for?!
(5)Silvia C.
Absolute best root beer, ever. Ive never had any I enjoy out of a bottle, but this stuff is fantastic. The coney sauce is also delicious and really makes the dogs. Yum!
(5)Peggy F.
IT's so-so! I am not a great fan! But... that is only my taste! I think the chili is too sweet, and don't like root beer. So, not a great judge of this type of food. BUT, it is always busy, and not expensive. Love the drive in part, and it is very cool, that the carhops, remember your order, without writing it down.
(3)Cantonite P.
After reading about this place in the Freep and realizing that even though I usually take a different route to and from work, I go past this place about once a month. I decided to stop in and try a couple coneys and the root beer and they were very good. I wouldn't say great and I just HAVE to come back and try other things because... well, there's nothing else to try! I guess I could try less cheese and onions but the coney itself has a good bite, and they are absolutely a great value (two coney's, chips and a small rootbeer for about $5 including tip. Would I make a concerted effort to come here every week in the summer? No, because you don't want to over-do a good meal. But now that I know where it is and if I'm getting a coney craving and don't want to shell out $2 a dog at the sit-down places, this is where I'm going.
(4)Deborah N.
This place is only open seasonally...spring, summer, fall. I for one cannot wait until they open. I live very close and have frequented this place often. We call it the little yellow hot dog place. They have the best coneys and as everyone has said the root beer is excellent. If you have a few extra minutes it is best when served in the mug. Great place to stop if you have very little time. You pull up and in minutes a guy runs over to your car, takes your order by memory, runs over to the building and in minutes is back with your order. I have never had it be wrong! Very little to choose from. Coney, chips and root beer. They don't serve hamburgers as category states. This is truly a local favorite and is very unique. Be sure to go here when visiting Ypsilanti. On next visit, run across the street to Roy Squeeze Inn for a homemade greasy burger!
(5)Christopher W.
Bill's is an Ypsi-institution. They serve coneys and root beer and that's it (apparently there are chips as well). Bill's exists on the entire philosophy of doing one thing really well, and that is why you can always count on good experience. The coneys are better than my beloved Lafayette (which is high praise) and the root beer a must as it is home brewed. I suggest ordering three, you'll regret ordering just two coneys. Customer service is friendly and quick. Just sit in your car and someone will be with you in a minute. Cash only.
(5)Jacob O.
Great dogs and chili. Root beer is awesome and made on site. Just drink it all in 24 hours after opening it. It is way better the first day.
(5)Charlotte R.
I just moved to Ypsilanti this year and I am so upset I didn't know about this place sooner. They are super fast, friendly and their food is delicious. I would totally recommend this place to everyone I know. Their root beer is to die for!!! I don't even like root beer guys!
(5)Jeanette H.
Rootbeer - Unbelievable!! Experience - Fantastic!! (they still have the trays that clip to your car windows) Price - Excellent!! Hot Dogs & Sauce - Good Super fast service, but be warned I'm pretty sure they don't take credit . ..I'm not one who usually carries cash, so luckily my passenger still does.
(3)Jessica B.
They serve three things...chili dogs, root beer and chips. They don't need to make anything else! My husband and I are connoisseurs of the chili dog. As far as your standard chili dog goes (minus all the fru-fru junk that can and does get loaded on), this is the best by far. They have accomplished the perfect ratio of sauce to meat. Not so much sauce they are drowning, but enough that it isn't just ground beef on a hot dog like some places. From the moment the place opens in early spring until they shutter thier windows in the fall, we swing by at least every few weeks! The guys are always polite and fast. Can't say enough great stuff about them!
(5)Barbi P.
You drive up, park in a spot and a guy comes and takes your order. A little strange but I will go with it. Then for $.75 he brings you a frosted mug full of the most delicious root beer ever. It is the kind you have to sip not gulp and it only has the carbonation it needs to be considered pop. It is heaven.
(4)Gary V.
Awesome root beer, great coneys (get 'em without mustard so the chili flavor shines through), fast service, inexpensive....what the hell are you waiting for? Put 'em in yer belly!
(5)Michelle G.
A must have in the summer time! Just pull up into the parking lot, turn off the car, and wait for one of the guys to come up to your window. Quick, Cheap, and Great! Hot dogs are for less than $2 with your choice of topping, and the Root Beer is homemade, sweet, and creamy. You can purchase a single cup size of root beer to a gallon's worth. A great summer time treat!
(5)Dan V.
Great chilli dogs and homemade root beer for the price! CASH ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(5)Mikey K.
This has been a favorite family stop for years and years. I've moved all over from time to time, and luckily had the pleasure of making this my go-to spot for a minute when I was living in Ypsi. I've since moved again, this time to NYC, but I swear nothing can top Bill's Hot Dogs. No joke! My dad did right raising me on this joint. From early on I can remember going here. It's not something to pass by as subpar. The prices are great, service is fast, and everything including the root beer is awesome! This would even be a cool spot to bring a date. They're so good, you could probably end up getting a goodbye kiss....or whatever. You will NOT be disappointed!
(5)doug t.
ahh yes Bill's THE BEST Rootbeer, and my personal favorite coney's and chili cheese loose burgers. i like to starve myself all day and mid afternoon get 3 looseburgers and 3 coney's (no onion for me) and a quart of rootbeer no ice. then i have to hurry home as a food coma is soon to set in
(5)Andy W.
Some of the best root beer I've ever had. They opened for a week or two in February one year and I almost shed a tear, it was awesome.
(5)Kait G.
Always take the road less traveled...Michigan Avenue! There are several great old timey places to eat at Bill's Drive In is one of them!!! The root beer is mind-blowing-creamy-delicious-amazing-ness! Yes, it's better than A&W or anything else you've had. Before you start arguing with me, try it and you'll tell me "Yep, you're right, sorry I doubted you oh great Foodie Goddess, I am not worthy of your yelps." But I'm a benevolent Foodie Goddess so I'll keep sharing. Now for the vittles, lots of choices but whatever you order, it should include a hot dog, chili, onions and mustard. If you must have ketchup, do so but eat over in the corner because I don't want to be embarrassed by you! My "heart stopping I don't care if this is my last meal on earth" is the loose meat hotdog with onion and mustard, messy as everything and worth every sloppy, drippy bite. I order two along with an icy mug of root beer and tip the waiter guys because they are on point. Get in your car/truck/suv/tractor and get over to Bill's before it closes for the season!
(5)Tony C.
I've had the root beer and coney dogs here. Both delicious! I have no idea what they do to their root beer but it has a bit of a vanilla taste. Almost as if they mixed root beer and creme soda. Delicious! One thing for a rookie to know stay in your car one of the friendly car hop dudes will be over to get your order.
(5)Pete D.
Ok - whatever stars you see here, double. Maybe triple. She Who Must Be Obeyed and I stopped after Thunder Over Michigan, so I was punch drunk on Jet A. We were neophytes, having never stopped before. Upon leaving, I wanted to testify on the highest moutaintop. Since the highest peaks are trash dumps, I had to suffice with screaming at the top of my lungs the praises. OMG - not the absolutely V-E-R-Y bestest rootsbeer, IMHO needs ever-so-slightly move phyzzz to scald the back of the throat, but Sweet Lord it was grand. And the coney goo, Oh YEAH BABY!! WE HAVE A WINNER!! Nothing over done - perfection in a wrapper. The cherry on top - the car hop dude who took time to esplane to me Lucy, the myth, the legend, the glory that is Bill's. He has no idea what fans he made that fateful afternoon. BDogs 4ever. Simple. And simply perfect. From the bottom of my heart and craving tummy, most sincerely, THANK YOU. TIP GENEROUSLY, FOR THEY DESERVE IT.
(5)Jason C.
I have driven by Bill's Drive-in for last 20+ years on my way to Hana and other places and always told myself I needed to stop by and try their dogs... well, the 20 year wait is over! Service - 5 stars - pulled in, guy walked up, placed our order and had our food in less then five minutes... 2 regular dogs, 3 chili dogs and root beer float. Super friendly service with quick speed! Dogs - based upon my taste and other hot dogs I had, they were decent (3 stars)... I had better hotdogs, but those joints are far away from me... Everyone uses different kinds of dogs, so yeah, the tastes will different from place to place, but did enjoy them. I didn't have the root beer float, but my nephew says it was awesome and the best he had.
(3)Jessica P.
Love Bill's Hot Dogs!!!! The root beer here is delicious and the hot dogs are simple but amazing!!! I get my hot dog with mustard and onions...so yummy!!! They are very attentive and fast!! Don't forget to tip these hard working guys!!
(5)Jen B.
Great, simple, cheap eats at Bill's... The coneys are super fresh and hot, paired with root beer you won't be disappointed in the awesome curbside service of Bill's Drive In.
(5)Chelsea T.
Best dogs in the world, been coming here since I was a kid. Love em. Even got my husband addicted to them.
(5)Valorie A.
Best Hot Dogs and Root Beer. Love coming here when we come up from Alabama. Good value. And the best homemade root beer ever. Stop by and grab a couple of chili dogs and a root beer.
(5)Marsha B.
Best Coney dogs on earth. Been coming for my entire life!! Look forward to opening every thaw
(4)Kate T.
Fantastic dive. Great dogs, great sauce, fantastic root beer. Our family has been going here for many years, and we are so excited when it opens for the year (in February) and closes for the year in October
(5)Frank Z.
Reminds me of a tail...two immigrants land in NYC fresh off the boat. They're hungry so they each buy a dog from a street cart. As they start eating their hot dogs, Stash says to Skee, "Aye Skee, what part of the dog did you get?" Bill's is pretty darn good. VERY casual eating, great root beer & coney dogs. A real treat. Cheap too! I don't know what's in these things but it's very tasty. They should employ girls in bikini's as car hops IMO.
(5)Twy D.
Bill's is the best chili dogs in the state if Michigan. Summertime favorite, and unless you do not like root beer Bill's root beer is absolutely terrific. This has been a family favorite for over 15 years for us. When we hear the word Ypsilanti we think of Bill's chili dogs and root beer. Get them with or without onions, and get some for later. Mouthwatering just writing about it! I'm gone to Bill's bye.
(5)Natalie J.
Hands down the BEST root beer I've ever had!! Bill's is always a summer staple in my house.
(5)RJ Q.
Hello. I have not written a Yelp review in approximately three years. Bill's Drive-In has instilled some Brett Favre-ian magic into my weary writing chops and has made me believe that I can still lace'em up one last time and sling it from the hip like I used to. My father is a coney dog connoisseur. What is a "coney dog," you ask? For the uninformed, a coney dog is an all-beef hot dog topped with chili and white onions and mustard, a specific combination that individualizes it from the generic "chili dog." When I say my father is a connoisseur, I mean to say that he grew up devouring coney dogs since his childhood. I mean to say that during my own childhood, he would often come home after work with a sack of these little delicacies, set said sack on the kitchen table, and call it "dinner." I mean to say that because of this diet, I had my own struggles with high cholesterol and being overweight while growing up, but have developed my own critical and discriminating palate when it comes to a coney dog. When I encounter a new place that claims to peddle coneys to a largely unsuspecting public, I say "BRING IT." Bill's has brung it. Broughtten it. Did bring it. I struggle with these conjugations because I am still reeling from this experience. Bill's Drive-In exemplifies why I joined Yelp in the first place: to wax philosophical on incredible eating experiences at little-known venues. I didn't even know it existed until one of my friends told me about it. He had to describe it to me by using general details before moving to specific ones, much like how a police sketch artist asks a victim to describe a mugger: "It's on Michigan Avenue. It's on the left side. It's sort of by the Korean place (stay tuned). It's yellow and about the size of a tool shed." This place is crazy. I pull in, not really knowing what to expect. I was planning on getting out of my car, but some dude walks up to my window and asks me what I want. He had a stack of bills in one hand. I ask him what they have. He lists all THREE things they have on the menu. I order some things. Five minutes later he comes back and hands me a paper bag. I pay him. I drive away. Also, I pretty much just described a drug deal. However, there is one major distinction: a drug deal doesn't usually cost $4.39. Actually, I apologize. I don't remember really what I paid, but $4.39 sounds a little high. My point is, it was ridiculously cheap. Here is where logic defies me: this was by far the best coney dog I have ever had in my entire life. My friends rag on me for my generous use of superlatives, but this is no exaggeration. This is the greatest coney dog I have ever introduced into my digestive tract. The funny thing is, this place also has the audacity to call it a "chili dog." They didn't even use the lingo. I wish they would have. I would have been more prepared. Look at this. It's a mess. I'm a mess. I've written like five hundred words already and I didn't even mention the root beer. Yes, they have root beer. THE GREATEST ROOT BEER I HAVE EVER INTRODUCED INTO MY DIGESTIVE TRACT. And again with the superlatives. I don't care. I think I'm going to go back. Right now. You should too. See you there.
(5)Mary B.
I've been eating here since before I was born! Yes, my Mom is a big fan and she started me out while I was in the womb in 1962. Bill's is great! The chili dogs are fabulous and the root beer is fantastic. Nothing fancy here, just great food on the cheap!
(5)Erik B.
Very friendly service. No menu. We had a coney dog and large homemade root beer all for $3 + $1 tip.
(5)Robyn M.
BEST chili dogs ever. I was gone in Texas for 11 days and the moment I came back I went to get Bill's. Perfect amount of chili, not overloaded or under loaded like most places. Can even pull off eating while driving cause no mess lol. And if you have not tried their homemade root beer than you have to! You will never drink another soda again besides this.
(5)Scott H.
Great great great. Root beer is crazy good. Too bad the location. I wish those who aren't hotdog and root beer fans would not drag down their rating. I gave it 4 of 5 because their parking lot is small and watching hookers walk Michigan Ave isn't my favorite either.
(4)Jordan J.
Best hot dogs around! Cannot be beat! I've been going there since a small kid.. their home made root beer is a must try!
(5)Matt B.
I can't believe that I've lived here for nearly 7 years now and my first time trying Bill's was a few weeks ago. There are a lot of places in SE Michigan (and more especially as you get into Detroit) that are of the "we're going to do one thing and do it amazingly well" mindset. Bill's Drive-In is DEFINITELY one of those places. There are precisely three things on the menu: Coneys, Root Beer, and chips. That's it. The coneys are cheap, the root beer is ice-cold and UNBELIEVABLY delicious, and the chips are Lay's. What? I couldn't just stop at two out of three. If you're looking for a standard Michigan coney, this place does it like you think, but it's not going to be identical. The coney sauce here is different - and not in a bad way, either. Most coney sauce is heavy on the cumin, and more slanted toward the beef end of the spectrum than the tomato end. Bill's is the other way around. It's not as earthy as most coney sauce, it's slightly sweeter, a little less thick, and there's more tomato involved. It's quite tasty, and for someone who's looking for a slightly different take on the average coney, this is a perfect diversion from the usual. The coneys are very good, but the root beer...well, let me put it into perspective for you. A&W out of the tap at an actual A&W restaurant is excellent. Sprecher's is outstanding. Bill's is a class unto itself. I don't know what he does to make the root beer so good, but whatever it is, he's got a lock on it. It's extraordinarily smooth, has a perfect vanilla hit to it that's amazingly pleasing, and...well, it's INCREDIBLE root beer. Just have yourself some and you'll taste why. That's all that needs to be said. The whole shebang (2 coneys, chips, large root beer) runs about $5.50 - so it's a real good deal. If you're a coney nut and a root beer nut and you haven't stopped here, FIX THAT NOW. Just remember to bring cash.

If your in the mood for a good root beer float this is the place. Took my family there the other day and we all enjoyed it
(4)Kayla P.
BILLS HOT DOGS IS THE BOMB.COM when people ask me what food id choose if I could only eat ome thing for the rest of my n life, id tell them bills. Everytime. Literally. I love bills, I wish they were year round and had more locations.
(5)Frank B.
Best chili dogs and loose burger dogs anywhere ever in the history of mankind (Dinosaurs may have had better before humans polluted the world). The root beer is some of the best I have ever had. Rumor has it the family is very religious. My theory is they are and God granted them one wish. They wished to have the power to make the best chili dogs in the world and wash them down with great root beer. I believe that wish was answered.
(5)Chris K.
The root beer was very tasty, kind of reminded me of southern sweet tea. My wife loved her dog, with ketchup and mustard, my son loves his dog with ketchup. I got 2 coney dogs, the bread was amazing, the toppings were top notch, as a native NY'er the dog was very bland, but over all it tasted very good
(4)LaDena W.
Always a summer favorite ever since I was a kid! I love the chili dogs! The only complaint that I have is for Bills to open all year round.
(5)Geo T.
I have certain summer rituals. My 2 most favorite occur on the same day. 1 is to bring the rag top outta storage & the second is to drive down to Bill's Drive In over in Ypsilanti for 2 dawgs & a large root beer (chilled glass stein only please). The top is down , it's 84* and the XM is blazing. Bill's never fails me - a pair of dogs that are sized to perfectly steamed buns, slathered in chili, light onions, & tangy yellow mustard. God Holy Trousers life is good today (I did hedge my bet with tums)! Bill's is a great Ypsi & EMU tradition - get there!
(4)Matthew P.
What can I say about Bill's, other than 'give it a shot'. It's simple as simple gets. You roll up in your ride, park it, leave it running or not your choice. Give the runner your request, he does some hand single like he's stealing third base, and bam your dogs are out. I'm diabetic, so I haven't tested the root beer, just the dogs. I've had loose coneys with all variations of toppings, as well as the dog, and the B-Dog. That's a dog hidden under loose coney meat. BDOG yo! For those that don't know, there's liquid gold in that hut. By that I mean he has melted cheese back there. The price is amazing. This is probably one of the few places were if you don't like it, you seriously only wasted about 8 minutes of your life, and under $2 for a dog.
(4)Erika J.
I have been going here for years, but very infrequently. It is amazing. There chili is hands down the best around. It is perfection. Sometimes I will even get a funny bun, which is a coney minus the hot dog. Root beer is killer too!
(5)Will C.
I love this place. I've been going here for 25+ years. Couple chili dogs with some root beer and chips on a nice summer day, nothing beats it. Only reason not given 5 stars, on busy days seems like they're understaffed for the rush. But for those that have never been here it's a must place to try. You will be back.
(4)Paula L.
We're from Tucson Arizona coming from the detroit airport and yelped some place close by... such a fun little adventure ....guys come to your car and bring your dog delicious and the root beer oh my god cash only but dinner for 2 was 5 dollars and 19 cents.
(5)Michael M.
Been coming to this stand for over 40 years. Their coneys are the same now as they were then. The menu is very simple Coney style Hot dogs or loose burger meat, either in the same type bun, Chips , and a drink. But I come here for the Root Beer. It's just better here. Be it childhood memories or Old fart status, I like things that don't change. Good food, inexpensive, and quick, I'll keep coming as long as they're here
(5)Ashley G.
I finally made it to Bill's and I was pleased with my experience. As soon as I pulled into the driveway a car hop was at my car ready to take my order. The homemade root beer was outstanding and so was the chili dog - mustard and onion only!
(3)william b.
(5)Erika J.

(5)Tyler B.

(5)Owl D.
I can't believe this place has been here since 1932 and i only just discovered it last year. My review will simply be echoing what others have already said... -THE HOMEMADE ROOTBEER! -THE MICHIGAN SAUCE -THE TRADITION ENJOY!
(4)Matt B.
(5)Bada B.

I finally made it to Bill's and I was pleased with my experience. As soon as I pulled into the driveway a car hop was at my car ready to take my order. The homemade root beer was outstanding and so was the chili dog - mustard and onion only!

(4)LaDena W.
Always a summer favorite ever since I was a kid! I love the chili dogs! The only complaint that I have is for Bills to open all year round.
I got 2 coney dogs, the bread was amazing, the toppings were top notch, as a native NY'er the dog was very bland, but over all it tasted very good
(4)Frank Z.

(5)Erika J.
(5)Matthew P.
(4)Scott H.
(5)Bada B.

(5)Owl D.
(3)william b.

I've been going to Bill's ever since I was a little girl. I loved it then and I still love it now! Delicious hotdogs, out of this world root beer, car side service, and super cheap prices--what more could you ask for?!

Absolute best root beer, ever. Ive never had any I enjoy out of a bottle, but this stuff is fantastic. The coney sauce is also delicious and really makes the dogs. Yum!

IT's so-so! I am not a great fan! But... that is only my taste! I think the chili is too sweet, and don't like root beer. So, not a great judge of this type of food. BUT, it is always busy, and not expensive. Love the drive in part, and it is very cool, that the carhops, remember your order, without writing it down.

Awesome root beer, great coneys (get 'em without mustard so the chili flavor shines through), fast service, inexpensive....what the hell are you waiting for? Put 'em in yer belly!

You will NOT be disappointed!

ahh yes Bill's THE BEST Rootbeer, and my personal favorite coney's and chili cheese loose burgers. i like to starve myself all day and mid afternoon get 3 looseburgers and 3 coney's (no onion for me) and a quart of rootbeer no ice. then i have to hurry home as a food coma is soon to set in

Some of the best root beer I've ever had. They opened for a week or two in February one year and I almost shed a tear, it was awesome.
