A great location across the highway from the Traverse City Beach Bums ball park. We decided to enjoy dinner here before heading to the ball game. We started with the Tzatiki appetizer (greek yogurt with cucumber and garlic), served with warm pita bread. It was excellent and served 5 hungry people happily. You cannot go wrong with the Greek salads, they are served with a nice homemade dressing. I ordered the baby Greek salad with chicken. The chicken was nicely marinated and the serving was generous. I also love the addition of Kalamata olives and chick peas. I would guess that Midwestern folks from Detroit may be a bit disappointed with their Coney dogs. But you've got to remember that you are not in a big city, where the competition is stiff and the rivalry warrants the need to make a good dog. My Detroit dog was OK, nothing spectacular to write home about. You just need to remember that you're getting a good bite for a good price. They serve Moomer's ice cream, which is a local ice cream; they have won numerous awards for their scoops. I highly recommend the cherry ice cream with chunks of brownies in it! My suggestion for the future: More Greek food on the menu please!! Another Yelper complained about the lack of air conditioning in this restaurant. We didn't have any concerns about this, and it was a very hot and humid July evening, 85 degrees.

Had breakfast here and have to say that it was average. Tried the gyro hash and eggs and it was ok. The hash browns were made from frozen and the corned beef was from a can. The restaurant was empty and I can see why. Nothing unique on the menu and a little overpriced. Pop and coffee were 2.49! Maybe the gyros or burgers are better, but probably won't come back.

A solid place for breakfast all-day, a coney dog, burger or a gyro! They have draft & bottled beer. There is something delightfully "naughty" about drinking a tall draft beer with your omelette. Highly recommended! The service can be a bit of a "Hit or Miss", depending on the staffing. Never can tell if it will be crowded or a ghost town, so I can appreciate the difficulty to plan staffing. However, regardless of how busy traffic is, some of the wait-staff show no sign of urgency...ever. We still go, because the food is good. Hands down, Deb is the best waitress there!

Okay so it wasn't the worst service I've ever had, but the waitress definitely had attitude when I asked her if she could get my pancakes out of the window after watching them sit there for 10 minutes getting cold. I don't think sitting in the window is what made the pancakes chewy and tough. My hashbrowns were drenched in oil and covered in black residue from the grill. My husbands omelette was rubbery and flat. That makes two days of bad breakfast. Maybe I should start cooking at home. On the plus side, the restaurant was clean as where the bathrooms.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch yesterday for the second time and were happily surprised. The first time they had just opened and were working out the kinks. The place is bright and inviting with tables and booths. The menu is extensive with everything from breakfast served all day to Coneys to Greek items to American. My wife ordered the veggie pita which was appetizing and tasty. I had the potato skins which were super! They were loaded with crispy bacon and cheese and had a generous tub of tzatziki sauce on the side. Yum. Only one waitress was in evidence but she worked quickly and efficiently and took care of everyone well. Pricing was moderate, and we'll be back. Thanks, Metro.

The food is very good, the gyro is just delicious. Our server however was less then attentive.

Service was terrible. Took waitress 5 stops and starts to take our order (omelettes and pancakes), food took 30 minutes. Omelettes were cold and pancakes were not cooked in the middle. Waitress never even came back to check on us. Had to find someone else to give us our check. Will never return.

Ok...This is our story. We tried the place for the 1st time a week ago and we ordered the lamb/beef gyro combination plae(served with a greek salad. We Thought we "dyed and went to "heaven" Seriously. So, we "could not wait to stop there again today, on our way to shopping in Traverse City. Totally different. We ordered "same thing as last week", but this time around, "the salad dressing "did NOT taste as it did the week before. Instead of tasting "fresh and I swear HOMEMADE as the first trip, it was typical "greek out of the bottle"you could taste that "preservative taste. UGH! Then we "no sooner took our "first bite of SALAd, and our PITA arrived! The waitress "apologized, and said "he is to fast today" So, we stopped "eating the salad", as We wanted to eat our pita "warm"...BUt, yet "another change from the week before visit" Instead of being served the delicous Gyro meat sliced and piled high(as any good gyro is", the "meat was chopped in 1/2 inch tiny pieces, and scattered all over the open pita...WT heck???Last week it had 4 nice gyro meat slices stacked high!!??? The meat tasted so good, we said "it must be a better than average quality gyro meat!...Wasn't greasy, as some are...Nice slices! Though it was "half off Gyro MONDAYS, we "did NOT order that, and discounted price, "does not apply for Gyro /greek salad combination plate".(I though 1/2 priced, probably "half the meat" I know, as we discussed this with our "very nice waitress".She explained to buy the combination plate would be the way to go, istead of buying a gyro at 1/2 off and "adding the salad which the salad separatly would be $6.99. Our main concern was "sinking our teeth into a good Gyro as we did the "week before" When she came around to "ask how everything was"..I asked her "why" the meat was chopped into very small pieces, and "it certainly was a "lesser amount"...I "thought "maybe", the cook, messed up, and "possibly gave us a "monday 1/2 off price(which is why meat was HALF THERE") She explained, "could just be that every cook does meat on Gyro DIFFERENTLY...But assured us "it was the same amount as always. Now, today the place was a gost town around 1:30...But people came in after us...Well GUESS WHAT? I checked out "THEIR GYRO and you "guessed it"It was Stacked high and cut in the "preformed slices that Gyro Meat is and has been served that way for YEARS! Its not "her fault, so I didn't run back and report this to her, but "SERIOUSLY? Now, my feelings after today?? We came back to this place BECAUSE after our 1st visit a week ago, we WANTED MORE! We talked about it for days, still tasting the delicious gyro and greek salad dressing. But after "today", well, I'm just not sure...The worst part, is "Please don't tell me, "the reason the gyro meat on both our pitas were "due to a different cook"...Things are "standard" at these kinds of places. The boss sets the standard and the employees are suppose to make the gyro the SAME each time to EVERY patron. I , personaly think, it was empty , it was "the END of the gyro meat roll, and they "decided to STRECH the meat, between 2 open pitas, INSTEAD of "starting with a FRESH meat roll.By chopping up the little bit of meat and filling the rest with EXTRA feta cheese and tomatoes, plus an overdose of that delious yogart sauce...Well, you could not FIND the gyro meat, let alone TASTE it. Sorta like, if I have one chicken breat "left over, but need it for two people...I dice it, mix it with greens/shreeded cheese and dressing, and put in in a "wrap", and "now I have ENOUGH to fill two wraps for two people.I "stretched the little leftover meat to accomidate 2 people. We left disapointed this time, and "we "did talk about it all the way home, "but not in a GOOD way.BUMMER, cause we were so excited to find a place "other than in the Detriot area that served really good greek salad and beef/lamb Gyros. Maybe the owners are being "over streched" having 3 restrurants now, and aren't "checking up" as often as they should.

We're fans of Opa! so we tried this restaurant knowing it's the same menu. We went tonight, a Friday at 6ish. At first it was fine, we were one of 6 tables. Within 1/2 an hour the place filled up, but there were only 2 servers and there were now 12 tables and 3 counter customers. My kid's $4.59 Mac and Cheese was 1 cup of Kraft and a side of undercooked fries. There's 2 types of fries, by the way...battered and regular. I ordered the Greek Salad w/Gyro meat, it came w/o the meet and I basically finished 3/4 of my salad before the meat came. I love Opa, so I know we'll be back b/c it's the same menu and food...I felt bad for the staff but not bad enough to justify a 20% tip, she dropped the bill on the table without asking how it was or if we needed anything else... I hope it was just an off night. I'm going to go for carry-out next time just to be on the safe side.

Been here twice now. Great milkshakes, they use moomers ice cream. My daughter had the onion rings and they were very good, the gyros are good. The coney dogs are what you'd expect of a coney dog. I read another review of this place where they were :disappointed" by the coney dog. I've never been "disappointed" by a coney dog. Maybe if it didn't show up or if it had broken glass in it (I'd probably eat that too who are we kidding) but disappointed....no. This is a spot to go and get a great shake and burger and dog. I'm certain there are coney places in the world that would alter my view of life, but for now this is fine with me. Oh and I thought the price was cheap for the amount of food we received. If you need more food for $3.00 (excuse me I just reread the review and it's ALMOST $3.00 not quite $3.00), Sams club is just down the road and they have a good hotdog and drink combo for $1.75. Enjoy!

The greek food here is AMAZING! I split the chicken gyros dinner platter with my mom (which was PLENTY of food for two people). The greek salad is awesome! The chicken gyros is so good is doesn't make you miss the lamb version. The tzatziki is to die for...I could drink it! Plus to top it all off...they have moomers ice cream! Can't wait to go back...again...and again...and again.

They deleted my post on facebook (very unprofessional) so I guess I'll just say something here. I'll get right down to it... the food is cheap. Everything was bland and had a weird taste. I'm from Detroit and often miss Coney/Greek family diners, so when I saw this place I was thrilled. I felt like being boring when I went though and got chicken strips. It was obviously fake chicken and really tough. I tried to pull it apart and it just wouldn't let me... solid pieces of gooey fat. I wouldn't even take it home to my dog. I will not go back.
