If you like fried catfish you have to try the catfish dinner. Just enough seasoning you wont need hot sause.

I thought for sure I would like this place based on the reviews, but sadly I had a very different experience than most. When our party of five arrived there were about 4 or 5 unoccupied tables, but none next to each other to push together to make a larger table so we were seated at a 4 top and given a chair to put at the end of it. The chair directly blocked the fire exit. I guess who cares when you already stack the high chairs in front of the fire exit as well. So, my husband had a nice view of high chairs and would be the prime tramplee in the event of an emergency. A young man came by and dropped off four settings of silverware and we asked for the fifth. He never brought it. About five minutes in, another young lady came and took our drink order. I assumed she was our server, but I was wrong, as another young lady who turned out to be our server eventually came to drop off the drinks -- SANS straws. Coffee was delivered in a to-go cup because she said they ran out of coffee mugs. Um weird. It wasn't even a full house. We asked for straws. The server came back and took our order having forgotten to bring the straws...sigh. She left and when it was clear that she was not returning to bring straws still, I got up to get them myself. After a while, I got up again to get more coffee. Our breakfast took 25-30 minutes to come out and not ONCE did our server come even near our table. Yet, another server managing the tables near us is going back and forth a zillion times, each time bumping into my chair because we are 5 people jammed into a 4 top. Meanwhile, occupancy has dwindled and the place is about half full now. Finally our order arrived. My omelette was overcooked and dry. My daughter said her eggs tasted "funny". I tried them and she was right. I can't be for certain that they were, but they were reminiscent of powdered eggs. My son said his steak was tough and chewy. My husband had ordered a side of corned beef hash, but he didn't get it because I guess the server thought he said hash browns. Typically, this would not annoy me so much, but we'd been waiting FOREVER - and for what - eggs and pancakes. She leaves and we are still short a silverware setting so I have to get up yet again to get one. This is the third time now that I had to get my own items. The corned beef hash comes out another 15 minutes later. Other than dumping off our food and then later the corned beef hash, we never saw our server. Not once did she come by. How is this possible when the restaurant is 1/2 empty? It's as if she wasn't even trying. We only got drink refills because we got up to get them. None of the plates on our table were removed. Oh, that's another thing -- they put every single item on a separate plate. We had plates up the wazoo! It was ridiculous. When we got the bill there was a miscellaneous charge of $2.00 listed at the bottom. When we questioned it we were told it was the difference between the hash brown side dish (which was already listed on the bill) and the corned beef hash side dish. OMG -- it took 45 minutes to even get the flipping corned beef and it was a server screw up. You couldn't even comp the $2.00?! I kid you not, the server then came over when we were completely done with our meal and were already up to go and asked if we needed anything else. I told her that there was a lot we needed when we were actually having our meal, but given we were finished, that it would be of no use now. Her response was "I know. Sorry about that." Wow. That was awesome. Never. Again.

Inexpensive meals to be found here that are tasty and home-style, which was probably just what I needed the morning I had breakfast here. Simple foods consisting of eggs (over medium of course) and hashbrowns and rye toast (pass the jam please). Tasty overall, but it would delight me if they added Texas Pete to their hot sauce collection! That's the southerner in me. I've not yet tried anything other than breakfast but hope to - family diners like this one are so quaint and needed in a world of chain restaurants and hectic fast food so called "breakfast" offerings. I've heard that the soup/sandwich menu is decent so I will look at ordering one of those selections next time I visit, which I expect to soon. Recommended. Staff: 6/10 as my server looked stressed. Interior: 7/10 just what you'd expect of a small town diner. Food: 8/10 quite tasty breakfast. Price:10/10 very kind to the wallet.

Had breakfast here one frigid, snowy morning. Ordered the Spinach and Swiss omelette - added mushrooms and onions to the omelette, plus a side of corned beef hash and coffee. Everything was pretty tasty. Hash had a nice crisp layer on top - just the way I like it. Coffee was pretty good. Service was friendly. I'd eat here again. Please note they do not accept American Express here.

Great no-frills diner. Breakfast is the way to go - I especially like their pancakes. Good coffee, filled regularly by attentive waitresses. Any time I get princess parking (aka Ken picks me up from the airport - love it!!), we stop by.

We'll let's just say our first visit sucked! The cook was the manager and he threw my husbands plate at him! Which was really disrespectful. The waitress wasn't pleasant she seem to care more about her boss attitude verses our complaint. Hands down far most bad experience I ever had to deal with in a public place... Ok decided to give them a second try during the night staff and I must admit I was totally surprised of how good and how we'll things went. Food was great and prices were affordable. Will I go back yes and yes but only durning nite staff

We stopped at this restaurant on a whim after church one Sunday. I ordered the potato pancakes with a side of bacon. My husband had the country breakfast. I did not care for the pancakes: they were rather bland and dry. The bacon was perfect. My husband enjoyed his breakfast, although the sausage patties were overcooked. Our waitress was delightful and very attentive. The manager stopped to check on us. The entire place was very clean and everyone was friendly. It was very busy the entire time we were there. The menu has a lot of variety: there's something for everyone and the prices and portions are great. We would definitely go back.

Love this place. taste of good ol home cooking! So far everything I have ordered from here has been great!!! Not one complaint! Well I wish there as one closer to me! lol And they have by far the best fried mushrooms! No other place can even come close to them! I seriously would drive an hour just for the mushrooms here!

Stopped in on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Small Coney Island style restaurant. Very clean. Standard diner food prepared well. I would recommend that anyone looking for a good soup and sandwich try it out.

Got to admit, this is your typical "Greek" style restaurant (although not Greek owned). The portions were huge, cooked to order, the price low, the service quick and the staff friendly! What more can you ask for?!?! It was a 45 minute walk from my hotel, but hell I needed to walk off all those delicious calories. As long as the weathers nice, I'll make the trek.

Awesome find!! I had poached eggs ham hash browns and toast. DH had veggie omelet. All for under $10 bucks!! Best poached eggs I've had in a long time. Very clean and fast service. Only took about 10 minutes to get to Qwikpark from there. Definitely will be back.

This place has ruined my taste for coleslaw for me and my trust in this restaurant. absolutely hate doing this because food is ordered from here so often and it's a go-to, but not after today. 5 lunches were ordered around noon, and one coleslaw was left out of a Gyro meal-fine. The coleslaw that wasn't forgotten had a little something extra... AN ENTIRE RUBBER GLOVE. Seriously. At first, it seemed like a large piece of cabbage, but upon digging an entire used glove popped itself out. Disgusting. Even more disgusting was how the situation was handled. No apology, no offer, no solution. This place is extremely lucky the health department has not received the photos of this gag worthy situation.

The food was good coney island food, my only complaint was the quality and quantity of gyro meat on my salad. It was paper thin, very dry and tasteless. There was not much on my salad ( for $9) which after tasting, I did not miss. The rest of the salad was fresh and good. Chicken strips were very good, pancakes were perfect. Oddly enough both times I got coffee refills it was cold..

A very unassuming place near the Detroit airport. Our group ate there for breakfast/lunch before heading our separate ways. The food was great and just what you'd hope for from a good neighborhood diner. Some of us enjoyed tasty burgers, while others had omelets. Everyone was happy with the food and the wait staff was quite friendly. Best of all, the check for our party of ten was only $75 before tip. Definitely worth checking out.

What a great little place. Tons of homemade foods. My husband had biscuits and gravy. He said they were freshly made. Breakfast comes with the choice of hash browns or pancakes. The restaurant is spotless. The service was friendly, prompt, and helpful. She noticed that I was eating healthy and asked if I would like sugar free syrup. I wish I could hang around for the homemade pierogis.

Great little place. Reminded me of going out to eat when I was a kid a long time ago. Food was good and ludicrously low priced. Thanks!

I had dinner here tonight and I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews on Yelp led us to this restaurant as we needed to go someplace close to the airport. The food was really good and portion size was very good! The ribs fell off the bone and the sauce was just right. The only issue, not a huge problem, was the waitress. She seemed rather depressed or tired. The sign on the door said wait staff needed, so maybe she is over worked these days. All in all this was a really good experience. Reasonably priced and good sized portions. Happy Dining!

The food selection is good. We ordered burgers and they were delicious. Our daughter wanted the Mickey Mouse pancakes and she got a kick out of them. We tasted the pancakes and they were also very good. The service was very good and quick.

Good food, coffee stays filled, they don't mind if you drop in an little earlier than their opening time, and great service.

Coming back from the airport, the Bo and I were super hungry. I did a quick search on Yelp to see what breakfast restaurants are near the airport, and Romulus House Restaurant came up! I was hesitant to try it at first since there are only 9 reviews on Yelp, but all patrons who wrote a Yelp review seem to LOVE this place, and you know what? So do I! Right when you walk through the doors, you are greeted by a waitress and they tell you to sit wherever you want. There were only about 4 filled tables, so we had a lot of options. We glanced over their regular menu, but we really wanted the items on their "Breakfast Specials" menu (displayed on each table). Since everything is dirt cheap, we decided to order two items each to try a bit of everything. I was also a bit concerned that at these prices, there is no way they can produce yummy homemade food, but I was blown away by the quality and freshness of the breakfast items. What we got: Blueberry pancakes (comes with ham, bacon, or sausage links): My first bite and the subsequent bites after that one were amazing. Fresh and plump blueberries filled the soft pancakes. The Bo liked these pancakes a lot too. They definitely can give Northside Grill a run for their money. I choose the sausage links and they were wonderfully spiced and browned, soo yummy! Candied Pecan Waffle: This waffle was not overly sweet, and had candied pecans throughout the crispy outside and soft inside of the waffle, (this is how a waffle should be). The Bo liked the flavors, but he said he would prefer it to be a softer waffle, but I disagree with him. This was just f'ing delicious. Corned beef hash with 2 sunny side eggs: BEST CORNED BEEF HASH EVER! Generally, I am not a huge fan of corned beef hash from restaurants because most of them make it too damn salty. RHR makes this breakfast staple with finesse. The corned beef is perfectly seasoned and it's crisped so well on top that you get great textures,-yummy crunchy bits of corned beef, and velvety soft potatoes. 2 eggs over easy with ham, hash potatoes, & buttered wheat bread: Eggs were done perfectly that when I cut into the yolk it broke into the wheat bread, ham, and potatoes. It just needed a bit of salt and pepper. My only complaint about this meal was the potatoes weren't really a hash. Only the top portion was crispy and I wish more of the potatoes were crisped up a bit. I just wish RHR was closer to aa. I'm so used to paying $10+ for mediocre breakfast and brunch items in aa, and I'm jealous of Romulus residents being able to get this great food on the daily. Can't wait to go back! Their breakfast is worth the 20 minutes drive to Romulus from aa!

Yesterday 4/19/15 I stopped at Romulus House after arriving in Romulus from Chicago. The restaurant advertise on the building (The Best Broasted Chicken) . This was the worst chicken I have had at a a restaurant; it looked burned and the white meat tasted like rubber. I otdered the 4 piece meal. I threw the chicken out. I was very disappointed. It was my first time at this diner. Most people including myself just accept bad experiences. I decided to write about it.

The RIBS are out of this world. I have been there two times and the other food is respectable or more. The service is very good and the owner and staff very friendly. It is also a very clean place, which belies its neighborhood. Very affordable. As I eat there more often, I will update my review because I have only been there two times.

Cheap tasty breakfast! Came here and was amazed at the prices. Wonderful variety for breakfast too. I love a place that will let you pick between pancakes and hash browns as a side, it puts my husband in a fabu mood. If you are starving get the combo breakfast; two eggs (perfectly cooked to order, yay for real over easies), two bacon strips, two sausages, a slab of ham with grilled pineapple, toast and jelly and hash browns or pancakes. Yum but wow, yeah that's a lot. For dinner is probably a better bet than trying to tackle that at breakfast time. It's nothing fancy but its solid and made to order. My husband got his floppy as hell bacon without a blink but they did not overcook mine nor did they assume I wanted floppy. This seems simple but you have no idea how often my husband's special order bacon has f-ed mine up. I will be back. Tonight I think :).
