This place is pretty good - my favorite is the snowball cupcake. The reason I didn't give it five stars is that they don't always have the snowball cupcake, which is disappointing, and the staff is not helpful in selecting cupcakes from my experience - I've been there three times.

The husband and I fell in love with gourmet cupcake shops in Nashville during our visit, so when we perused the 2010 Entertainment Book, we saw "Just Baked" listed amongst its pages. We were excited to check it out. They have a Novi location as well, but Livonia was closer, so we visited there with our coupon. The shop itself isn't in a very desirable or easy-access place (7 & Farmington, not exactly upscale), and the parking lot was wet dirt and gravel. It is sandwiched next to a barber shop. My hopes weren't high, but the delicious cupcake on the sign made me keep hope alive. We were pretty impressed that for such an understated place, they had such good cupcakes. We went on a Saturday afternoon and most of their flavors were available. We had our Entertainment Book coupon for 50% off any order, maximum $5 off. Each cupcake is $2.50 each or a half-dozen for $11. We opted for six, and with the coupon they averaged out to $1 each. What we found with Just Baked is that their cupcakes are delectable-looking, but approachable. The "gourmet cupcake" places tend to have several inches of butter cream frosting on the top, making each bite a diabetic coma waiting to happen. These were delicious, but more manageable as a dessert. I didn't feel like I needed to diet all day just to have one! We got the Grasshopper (mint), the "Fat Elvis" (chocolate, peanut butter, banana), the Rocky Road, the Bumpy Cake, the Apple Pie, and the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup with Reese's Pieces on top and a cup nestled into the bottom. It was nice to split each on with my husband and sample them all. I would definitely buy some for peoples' birthdays or special treats. I don't think I would drop $2.50 every time I wanted a cupcake, but for special occasions I would. They also do ice cream and wedding cakes, but we had no reason to partake in those. Overall two thumbs up. Definitely worth a try!

Fell into the hype, one of my coworkers just bragged about this place. I realized I had been driving by it for about two years on my way to school so I decided to stop in. Went in 10/11/10 around 10 am. I don't know if it was because they were moving from the old location across the street or because they had just opened for the day but the girls working there were just barely friendly. I think I got a dry hi from one of the girls. Then I stated I want two lemon curd and two ... I get a "HOW MANY IN TOTAL?!" that made me roll my eyes. Anyway they were out of the lemon curd, out of the red velvet cheesecake and out of the Samoa cupcake (my mom would have loved this). I chose from the sparse pickings available. They did have carrot cake (for mom) and pumpkin pie for myself. So the service I wasn't impressed with. I got the Baskin Robbins "we are a million dollar company treatment" instead of the we are a "Michigan based company" treatment I get from other bakeries and home grown establishments. I get home and eat my Pumpkin Pie Cupcake. It is to die for! Moist with a real pumpkin flavor and great icing. I will try to go back one day afternoon, to see if the girls attitudes working there are warmer and if they have more cupcakes in stock.

Unfortunately I was truly disappointed about my first (and last) Just Baked experience. After viewing their wide selection of cupcake flavors online, I was completely let down when I arrived to slim pickings at the store. When I asked if they had anymore Red Velvet, I got a serving of attitude from the employee, "I guess not," as she looked at the empty Red Velvet slot. Perhaps they had a fresh batch in the back? Nope. Bad customer service in the first 60 seconds put a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended). We purchased a variety of flavors, about six, and were only satisfied with two flavors: grumpy cake and confetti. The stawberry cheesecake was underwhelming. Bad customer service + just-okay taste = I'm making my own.

If you find yourself peering into the cases at Just Baked conflicted over what to get let me help you. While they have plenty of flavors to choose from some are a miss. Elvis (peanut butter, banana, chocolate) weird? Maybe but if that combo was good enough for the King its good enough for me. By far one of the best I tried from there. I would strongly suggest any of their Cobbler flavors, the cake was moist and the fruit on top was delicious. I was so excited to see they had a S'more cupcake but was sad once I took a bite, there was no frosting!!!! Just marshmallows gooed on top! If I hadn't looked at the cupcake itself I would not have even noticed there was any chocolate in there. The cake for the S'more and Samoa was on the drier end. Strawberry cupcake was O.K., cake was moist with hints of Strawberry flavors, not bad but not mind-blowing. Just Baked beats other cupcake shops but I can't say I would make the 30 minute drive again. The staff was there, not friendly but not mean...anytime I walk into a cupcake shop I guess I'm always assuming I will be greeted by warm, happy, sugar-coated people. I would strongly suggest other cupcake lovers to give it a try, this place has the Cupcake Station in Birmingham beat. Also, prices were great $18 for 12 cupcakes and their regular sized cupcakes are big! Easy to split.

OMG - I haven't reviewed this place yet; what the heck is wrong with me?! I've been here so many times and customer service is very nice. You can't go wrong with any selection of cupcakes - sugar coma afterwards (YES!). I won't knock this place down for being a little pricy but I have had inexpensive cupcake and I came running back here - hoping the cupcake gods would forgive me. Lol! I'm also ran in other business not having a wide variety to choose from but here you get to pick from up to 15 different cupcakes. If you're looking for that fake whipped icing then stick to ur local cheap grocery store - but you want a tasty explosion of sweetest in ur mouth (that sounds a little nasty) then come here. Happy Eating!!!

Phenomenal cupcakes. Friendly staff and clean environment. I have to save the red velvet is my favorite but I'll be back soon to try more since there's so many choices.
(5)A B.
Great variety, somewhat reasonably priced. We did our wedding cupcakes with them and overall had a great experience. We went to their main office to discuss prices, flavored, set up, and whether or not we would want them delivered or to pick them up ourselves. We decided to pick them up ourselves to save on costs. After leaving we were instructed to go pick up some trials from the store to help in our selection. The girls at the store were very friendly, we did have a short wait but there were customers before us and they weren't rushing them.

Stop what you are doing... this is important: CUPCAKES HAVE COME TO DETROIT! Other places have tried. Other places have failed in one area or another. My biggest eatery pet peeve: poor service. Just Baked employees told us about the most popular flavors, their favorites, how often they change flavors, and dealt with our silly, excitedness over finding their bakery. My biggest cupcake pet peeve: DRY CAKE. You will not find this here. As Kelly B. commented upon eating the strawberry cupcake... it was so dense, it was heavy! YES! Great service, great prices (comparably to other cupcakeries), very tasty cupcakes.... yes, yes, yes! We deided that if we go back approximately twice a week, we will get to try all of the flavors as they rotate them and come up with new ones. The flavors are inventive but well thought out. Do yourself a favor and try these cupcakes. You will thank me. I will be here when you are ready.

I went to the Twelve Oaks store and got 6 cupcakes (pumpkin, apple pie, grumpy cake, chocolate-chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and black forest) and was very disappointed $13.00 later. The cupcakes were extremely dry! They tasted like they had been baked and put in the freezer and had been in there a while. Will not go again. One would think that for the cost, they could be baked fresh daily. However, due to the fact that all 6 were extremely dry, it was evident that they had been baked a while ago. Do not recommend. Cupcake Station in Birmingham and Ann Arbor have very moist cupcakes and wonderful buttercream frosting. UPDATE: I have to compliment the owner of Just Baked for taking immediate action on my review. It was never my intention to receive free cupcakes for my review, however it was greatly appreciated. Just Baked delivered 6 cupcakes to my place of employment immediately after reading my review. This is a company that cares about their customers and very professional. My husband and I both agree the cupcakes were much better this time. We definitely give Just Baked a thumbs up for being so dedicated to their customers. Thank you.

I LOVE these cupcakes! My favorites are the Chocolate Peanut Butter, and the Red Velvet. I recently joined Weight Watchers and told my husband that all I wanted him to get me for my birthday was a Red Velvet cupcake from Just Baked! So delicious! I used them for both of my kids' birthday parties. I don't get to eat these that often, so I REALLY look forward to the chances I get!
(4)Kyle B.
This place is great! Huge, delicious cupcakes. We have yet to find one we don't like.
(5)Abigail W.
Best red velvet ever. Really good cupcakes, nice service, cute shop, a bit pricey but worht it!
(4)Amanda O.
I love this place. The owners are fantastic and the employees are cheerful, polite and very helpful. Just Baked did a beautiful tower of delicious cupcakes (lemon, strawberry, and vanilla) for my wedding. Everyone loved them. I have also used them for my wedding shower and several birthday parties. The cakes are really great too.

I don't live in Livonia... in all actuality I live about 20 minutes away on a good-traffic day. Yes, you got me: I drove 20 minutes to try a cupcake!! The place has only been open about a couple months and they took over the previous bakery, so I actually missed the storefront, but saw the cupcake emblem in their window, so made an immediate turn and was still able to park on the side of the building =) This bakery is a diamond in the rough when it comes to flavor, creativity, and friendliness of the staff. I told the guy it would take us a few minutes before we would be ready and he didn't seem the bit annoyed...didn't go about his business, just patiently waited until we were ready. He seemed surprised but pleased that we had driven so far to taste-test his cupcakes! I couldn't decide which one(s) to try....after all, I just drove 20 minutes and I can't leave with one measly cupcake. I seriously had to soak it all in and pace back and forth the cases and narrow it down to the yummiest! Here are a few highlights: Oreo Cookie Cupcake-- oreo cookie crumb bottom below a moist devils food cake topped with melted marshmallows, milk and semisweet chocolate and oreo cookie crumbles. A chocolate lovers dream. Banana Split Cupcake-- vanilla wafer bottom below a fresh banana cake topped with milk chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, graham cracker crumbles and a maraschino cherry. Just like the real thing. S'more Cupcake-- A graham cracker bottom topped with our moist vanilla chocolate chip cake. Topped with hershey milk chocolate, melted marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs. Rocky Road Cupcake-- A brownie bottom below a moist devils food cake. Topped with melted marshmallows, chocolate chips, brownie crumbles and walnuts. Drizzled with their own rich ganache. White Chocolate Raspberry Cupcake-- Shortbread bottom below a moist yellow cake sprinkled with white chocolate. Drizzled with raspberry topping, white chocolate chips and a shortbread crumble. They also had a Samoa Cupcake [the girls scout cookie one!], Cinnamon Toast, Trail Mix, Pumpkin Pie, Blueberry/Peach/& Cherry cobbler, Apple Pie, Grasshopper[mint chocolate cookie], Stuffed cupcake, and BUMPY cake cupcake!!!! If your mouth isn't watering by now, I'll go ahead and assume your salivary glands are challenged!!! I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't have the strawberry cupcake that Kelly and Christine talked about, but it gives me more reason to return!! I mentioned to the gentleman that they should make a Strawberry Shortcake cupcake and he seemed intrigued- he said that they should and he would add it to the list of experiments! [I sure hope so, b/c I'll order by the dozen!!!] $2.00 per single cupcake, $10 for 6 cupcakes and $18 for a dozen cupcakes! Not expensive at all...and the kicker to this amazing place: They are going to be adding ICE CREAM in their business!!! They have a cake artist, which by the way, end up being pieces of art! Beautiful!! Seriously, I had to carefully set my cupcake on a plate, peel down the wrapper, and eat it with a fork! Just Baked, my stomach thanks you a hundred times over, but you have some explaining to do to my hips and thighs!!
(5)Peggy F.
Friendly service, extremely helpful.. The woman I spoke with at 10:00 had dozens of beautiful cupcakes for my daughter to pick up at 3:00,, was a big hit with all my caregivers at providence in novi!! Thank you, just baked!!
(4)Chris L.
Not even gonna bother being funny or descriptive about the different varieties I have eaten. Every single one I have tried the cupcake itself was pretty dry. Over and above the flavor or style at that point It's a non-starter really so end of review.

I was looking for a place to order a Graduation cake for my son and found Chocolate, strawberry and Fat Elvis Oh My What an absolutely delightful place. The staff was very helpful and the samples were...lets just say I wanted to take the tray. Wide variety to choose from which is just what I was looking for. Thank you Alice for all your help. Can't wait to get my son's cake.
(5)Kelly C.
I ordered a custom cake for my son's 6th birthday party. It was AWESOME!! Literally, it was edible art. My son's birthday was Power Rangers Super Samurai. When I called to order, I told them the theme and asked that they get creative with it (I am NOT a visionary). I was thrilled to see what they did with it! So detailed and creative. The cake was marble inside and tasted so good. It served 20 (generous portions) and cost $80. Well worth it! I'll be a lifetime customer.
(5)Kristen L.
First time trying this place. She's very Nice, used my check in with no problems and she had me fill out for my birthday to get a discount for my birthday too :). Lots of frosting looked like too much to me, but it isn't. It's all butter cream too, I hate butter cream, but they actually make me like it which surprised me. I was expecting not to like it for that one reason. The cupcakes aren't the most most, but the frosting makes up for that. Except the Samoa one, that was most and very good. They have free samples they set out. Today is Samoa and upside down pineapple cake. Definitely have to get that on my birthday this month!

So we went to the store to order my son's 1st birthday party cake. My friend recommended the place but she ordered their cake few years back from another location. My initial thought was to try their cupcakes first before ordering. Due to time, fussy baby, etc my husband said to just order it. I did and I still bought 3 cupcakes for later. Well few hours after leaving, we finally had time to eat them...my older son and I hated ours! He got Grumpy cupcake and I got the Red Velvet. They both were VERY dry and crumbly. My husband liked his but I think he was being biased so he didn't have to admit he was wrong in rushing me. I am calling them tomorrow and asking if that is how the cake will be...truly debating canceling the order. Two cents to small businesses who have blips of volume...take the hit and THROW away any food that maybe partially stale/old. You risk losing new potential customers by saving a penny. Then it becomes a downward spiral when they don't comeback and further impact your business through social media and/or tell folks verbally to stay away.

My friends are fans of this place. Actually of this chain. On my last trip to Detroit, we came to Just Baked twice, out of their love for it. I believe my friends' enchantment with this place is genuine. I just don't share it. My first cupcake from this place was the Samoa - a supposed homage to the Girl Scouts' Samoa cookie. It was awful. The vanilla cake was very dry, it went way too heavy on the coconut on top, too light on the chocolate ganache (instead of a layer, it was more of a squiggle), and is there supposed to be caramel somewhere? Because there is on the cookie. Okay, so the first try was a strikeout. Apparently, I was just so excited about it at the time, my friends didn't want to mention that it was not a good flavor. I was convinced that I had simply made a poor cupcake selection. The next day, we tried it again. This time, I went for a Black Forest Cheesecake. All agreed it was a better choice. Let's stick with the baseball metaphors and just say they made solid contact but the fly ball stayed in the park for an out. It was certainly more moist and all around a tastier cupcake, but the "dollop" of cheesecake in the devils food cake didn't come through as "cheesecake". Also, again they went too light on the ganache. More moist - still dry. The best part were the parts where I could pair the cake with the cherries, because the glaze acted as a moistener. Prices were about right for a boutique cupcakery. Staff wasn't exactly friendly though. Also, I would advise avoiding the Henrik Zetterberg Swedish snowballs. Vanilla fluff covered in chocolate and coconut. They sound interesting until you try them. Then not so much.

I really liked this place. We were just wandering around the mall and bumped into this place, it was kind of cute so we went in. The selection of cupcakes were really interesting. We have two cupcakes, one each and we each tried each others cupcakes. The food was pretty good, and the service was not terrible for a place that you go up and order and then eat. The ambiance was ok, and I really enjoyed eating here. I would definitely like to go back here and try more of their different types of cupcakes

$12/ 6 pack. Since my pants are too big, I figure cupcakes are cheaper than a belt. I ventured here at least 2x a week while working near here for the month. For starters, when you turn down 7 mile, you will see the old establishment that tells you to do a quick left to get to the new place across the street. They REALLY need to take down the other sign. I had everything -- almost. The one thing I didn't have were the Faygo cupcakes -- they come in 6 packs / 3 flavors only because of some weird agreement with Faygo. They were a little too bright for me to even think they would be appealing... Most people seem to complain about the lack of frosting -- but I don't really get it. I think it's perfect -- you just need a knife. Slab off half the frosting on top, eat the top, spread the other half on the left over stump. But then again, I'm not a huge frosting person either. They make some really light fantastical frostings. Their cakes are moist and delicious. Service is fine. I just wish they had a cappuccino maker and some place to sit down to scarf your tasty treats. My favorites: 1. Red velvet cheesecake - cream cheese frosting on top of a red velvet cake with a dollop of cheesecake on top. 2. Drumstick - tastes like the ice cream version! Really fantastic cupcake. 3. Fat Elvis - I thought the idea of banana cake was going to be gross -- but damn, I can see why this is a popular cupcake. Surprisingly delightful. 4. Chocolate malt - cherry buttercream is OUTSTANDING, great malt flavor. This one is for the adventurer. 5. Black forest - very similar to the Chocolate malt but more chocolatey 6. Regular red velvet - they seriously make one of the best red velvet cakes I've ever had. Perfect. Not so much: 1. Chocolate hazelnut - I figure Nutella = win, but this cupcake wasn't memorable. 2. Cobbler cupcakes - meh. Boring. 3. Carrot cupcake - also meh, boring. 4. Grasshoppper - I LOVE mint chocolate as a food combination. But the idea of eating mint buttercream made me think I was eating buttercreamed toothpaste. It's the green. It's toothpaste green. 5. Tiramisu - nice attempt, but the frosting didn't have the airyness I like in tiramisu, and the coffee soaked part was overpowering. 6. Grumpy cake - Bumpy cake is a Michigan thing, this was just meh to me. I gotta feeling some of you bumpy cake addicts out there would really love it though.
(4)Sarah T.
Kind of expensive... I went in here on Fat Tuesday and the girl didn't really know what she was doing.. almost charged me 16 bucks for 6 paczkis. The cupcakes look expensive but they looked good. I might be back, who knows.
(3)Krystal R.
I love this place. My biggest issue with it is either the cupcake is overwhelming with cremes coming out of it (Grumpy cake) or is lacking some frosting e.g. SnoCap, Red Velvet, Oreo. I adore the... ~Red Velvet cupcake ~The Fat Elvis
(4)Kelly S.
I LOVE Just Baked! I've been here a few times & yet to have the same cupcake twice & so far my favorite is the Black Forest. Having the cherries in the cupcake batter keeps it so moist it's ridiculous...I ate it 3 days after buying it & it was still moist! I will say that normally their chocolate cakes tend to be a little bit dry, perhaps it's because I never make it in before 5 PM but still, they could stand to be a little more moist, especially those without filling inside because otherwise you have to have milk with it. The yellow/red/other cakes don't seem to have an issue in the moist department though. Don't get me wrong, I almost always get a chocolate cake of sorts so they aren't dry enough to deter me but I know I have to eat those same day. The only other thing I don't like is the marshmallow topped cupcakes because they are too hard to eat...you bite in & the whole top comes off because the marshmallow is like a sticky rock so unless it's fresh out of the oven I'd avoid the marshmallow topped ones. They have such a huge selection you can certainly find whatever you want/need/could imagine in the store but at 5 they definitely are picked over & running out though I can't say I've ever left her cupcakeless & disappointed :) Oh, I should also note that the driveway is off the side street, there isn't a driveway facing 7 Mile so I always pass the place & have to come back around.

Ahhh....I really had SUCH high hopes. Sadly my dreams about fabulous cupcakes in Michigan did not come true today. If you have read my reviews in the past you have to know that I am somewhat of a cupcake whore (yes...thats right I am calling myself a whore...but its in relation to cupcakes so its ok). I traveled the US with my husband for work and in every city we sampled the local cupcakary's. It always made me so sad that Michigan did not have a place to call its own. Today I thought was the day that every thing turned around... The husband and I ordered up 4 cupcakes. A stuffed cupcake, a peach cobbler cupcake, a bumpy cake cupcake and a raspberry white chocolate cupcake. Even before the woman behind the counter closed the top of the box I stole a bite of frosting...I could not control myself...sadly...I was not that impressed. You see...frosting is so important on a cupcake! If the frosting is bad it ruins everything. Its hard to explain what I thought this frosting tasted like...it was almost as if the frosting had been in the refrigerator and had taken on the taste of the smells in the fridge (does that make sense??). Anyways...I was not that happy with it. The cake...well...the cake was great! It was very moist and flavorful. No complaints there. So...if this was just a review about the cake part I would probably give them 4 stars. BUT since the toppings on a cupcake (i.e. frosting) make up half of this tasty treat my review really needs to be knocked down a few points. I will say the prices were great. I am so use to paying $3+ per cupcake...paying 14 bucks for 8 cupcakes was a welcome surprise. Final Judgment: If you are in the area stop by and judge for yourself...but I would not go out of my way to go here.

I totally loved this little place! So cute!! So we were wandering about and just happened to come across Just Baked and first had a little giggle at the name.... but because we felt like exercising the sweet tooth we popped in for a couple cup cakes. MMMMmmmmMMMM! They were good! I had the Red Velvet cupcake cause it's always my favorite. It was moist and delicious, the cream cheese frosting on top was excellent too- rich but not too sweet. Just right. My boyfriend got something called a grumpy cake- chocolate with stuffs in it and chocolate ganache on top. RICH! I tried it and wow. It was also delicious, moist and super super rich. I couldn't have finished it! Plus they had milk! Perfection. I am defiantly going back next time I am in the Mitten. So worth it and SOOOO many other cupcakes I want to try.
(4)Nancy K.
These are actually pretty decent cupcakes. Two flaws: No punch card to reward repeat customers like the Cupcake Station in Plymouth and parking is sometimes an annoyance in that lot.
(2)Y R.
My favorite cupcake is the FAT ELVIS! It is incredibly delicious - banana cupcake with peanut butter filling dipped with chocolate ganache.
(4)Tom F.
Now I know why I have a bump around my midsection. I love the bumpy cupcake. I first tried this at the Yelp's Art Attack at the CAID! Then my daughter brings another one home for me. SHAME on her(but thanks again). Since I am not a sweets person I must admit, that these cupcakes are awesome. Definitely worth a third or a fourth one some time soon. Maybe with some frozen yogurt or ice cream next time.....
(4)Lily P.
VERY GOOD CUPCAKES!!! They have so many varieties but you really just want to know what makes them diff then any other place? normal sized puffy cupcake that is not heavy and you actually want to finish it opposed to just eating the top of the cupcake. ALSO...the frosting is just not on the top but they frost it so the middle of the cupcake still has frosting. YUM They have tons of different flavors: peach cobblers, chocolate bumper road (super sweet top with chocolate cupcake). i had a snickers bar looking cupcake, coconut almond one, smores, etc. My other friend had a mint chocolate chip and one had red velvet. This doesn't even begin to list the other kinds they had. It was awesome!!!! I def recommend getting a cupcake tree for a wedding or event from here since it really is impressive and the taste is the same.
(3)Kristina K.
A surprise amongst a street of strip malls. We walked into Just Baked hoping for baskets of flaky, bakery items, but stumbled across shelves of cupcakes. Of the twenty or more sweet combinations, we selected their Fat Elvis. The Fat Elvis can best be described as a taste bud's wet dream. It was moist and not cloyingly sweet. The Fat Elvis is really a banana cake, with peanut butter butter cream, topped with chocolate ganache a couple of crush peanuts. It wasn't the best of all cupcakes we've ever tasted, but we left wanting more.
(3)Liz W.
I'd actually give it a 3 1/2. I agree about the some of the cupcakes and the lack of frosting. I need frosting or a really moist filling or forget it. They also do not always stock all the varieties featured on their website. It is a pain when you have a list of options from someone to bring back and none of choices on their list is there. My mom could not get her request for white chocolate raspberry, grasshopper or chocolate malt, even her backup choices of carrot cake and creamsicle were gone. This was not end of day or anything either. I did like the banana split, the fat Elvis, chocolate stuffed, vanilla stuffed, tiramisu, lemon and the bumpy cake cupcakes. Not a fan of s'mores, Samoa, rocky road, cinnamon doughnut, oreo or pineapple upside down. As you can tell we got a dozen and had a tasting party with my parents. Basically stick with anything frosted, the rest taste like dry muffins.
(3)Kristin D.
This business is an oxymoron. *And not in a cute, 'Sandy's by the Beach' kind of way, in a "Really?!?!" Kind of way.* They don't bake the cupcakes fresh in the store. They bake them downtown, then are shipped to various locations around Metro Detroit. Let me explain. My cousin and I picked up cupcakes from here for my Uncles Birthday. We wanted to order a cake, but they didnt have any so we settled for cupcakes. Some but the girls at the counter were clueless and stammered and mumbled about how they need to place an order to headquarters so then they can be shipped, then it will be about a week... blah blah blah. Wait. What? You don't bake them here? This place is called JUST BAKED right? Don't get me wrong, they look delicious. That's it. We forked into the few varieties that she got, I believe they were red velvet, toasted almond, and another one that was forgetful. They were dry, and had an awful artificial taste to them (especially the almond). Blech. If you want a decent cupcake, I'd make the drive to Cupcake Station in Plymouth or drive 30yds further down 7 mile and take a look in the bakery display case at Joes Produce to satisfy your sweet tooth. THOSE are just baked.
(2)Joan G.
I was looking for an excellent cupcake for my daughter's birthday, and I chose Just Baked because (1) my husband had eaten them at work and thought they were great, and (2) I live pretty close to both Livonia and 12 Oaks Mall so they were convenient. I chose to go to the original Livonia store because so many Yelp reviews thought the 12 Oaks/Novi location had dry cupcakes. There were a LOT of flavor choices but not many without cream frosting, which my lactose-intolerant daughter cannot eat. The vegan cupcake was not available because I was told they were special order only. The Faygo cupcakes looked interesting, but you must buy the whole 6-pack and I only wanted to try the Red Pop. So I ended up choosing these 6 flavors: 1. Pineapple Upside Down - I didn't eat, but my family thought it was good. One of the non-cream frosted. 2. Apple - another non-cream. My daughter said the apple crumb topping was delicious, but the cake was just a yellow cake flavor with no apple. 3. Toasted Almond - Nice and moist but absolutely no almond flavor in the cake or the frosting. There were slivered almonds on top of the frosting, which constituted the entire almond flavor. 4. Pumpkin - everyone's favorite. Great pumpkin flavor in the cake and frosting. 5. Red Velvet - meh. Cream cheese frosting was ultra-sweet and not cheese-flavored enough. Cake was dense but also too sweet. 6. Lemon - still waiting to be eaten. Our overall assessment was that they were GOOD cupcakes, but not GREAT cupcakes. Again, most of the special flavor was in the toppings and not the cake, but the cupcakes were moist and good if you like yellow cake. I'm glad I didn't drive too far to get them, though. As another reviewer mentioned, this company should REMOVE THE SIGN from the old (south side of 7 Mile) location. It's confusing. The parking lot was really small and I was only able to park because I have a handicap placard, and even then there was only one handicap space.
(3)Lucy K.
Great cupcakes! We found Just Baked while looking into cupcakes for our wedding, and I'm glad we found them! I've tried many flavors in my search for the best wedding cupcakes, but we settled on three. 1. Vanilla stuffed buttercream - light and yummy, and they dyed the frosting to match our wedding colors, which was fun 2. Grasshopper - one of our absolute favorites. The chocolate cake is moist and the frosting is so minty delicious. These went first at the wedding and even though we had 20 cupcakes leftoever after, not a single one was a grasshopper 3. Fat Elvis - banana cake with peanut butter buttercream, dipped in chocolate ganache and sprinkled with peanuts - THIS is delicious. My personal favorite. I LOVE the buttercream, oh man it's just such a good combination of flavors! If you're looking into this for wedding possibilities, I'll tell you that the cupcakes were there and set up on time, and that the tower cost $25 on top of the cupcakes (which are not cheap, although the whole thing was cheaper than a cake would've been). They also give you a free cake on top of the tower that they will design for you (we had little gears and pawprints all over ours to symbolize our careers). They're expanding like crazy, so you can find them here or at 12 Oaks mall, and I believe there's a location in Ann Arbor now and Royal Oak. I hope they continue doing well - probably everyone won't love EVERY cupcake, but I guarantee you'll find a few you'll love.

Overpriced. I would not recommend making a special order here. Their quote to me was outrageous. I asked them before cupcake station because of their location near my home. (The cupcake station has wonderful cupcakes!). They wanted almost three times the price of their normal gourmet cupcakes to make mine. Cupcake station made them for almost half. Per dozen Just Baked normally is $24. They wanted to charge me $60 a dozen. Cupcake station charged us $36. And they say Birmingham is overpriced! Its a drive to Bham from me but based on principal I will continue to always go to them for my treat needs : ) In response to Todds response-It was neither expressed to me that they did not make special orders using alcohol in the ingredients, nor that I should give another place a try. Also, when you gave our quote you knew we would be providing the special expensive alcohol ingredients at our cost. A lot of cooking and baking uses alcohol, so its strange to act like my request was some perversion of good and decent baking. Your response was merely a politely stated outrageous un-neighborly price which I quoted here exactly, and a statement to let you know if I am interested. This is how you decided to conduct your business with us precisely and it is posted here for informative purposes. In my opinon it may be a fine place to grab a quick snack but I recommend trying another business that handles special requests more gracefully.

Over hyped, under delivered. We got a six pack variety. All of them tasted like dry muffins (cupcake FAIL! - should be moist and flavorful). The tiramisu one didn't taste anything like it's name sake (or ingredient list - lacked coffee taste - it was basically a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting with a fancy name. Lame.). The Samoa one was good but needed more caramel (tasted more of Coconut than the Caramel that Samoas are known for). The Hostess cupcake was in the display but not on the menu (nothing wrong with that), and it was basically a decent cupcake but it was overly dry and bland. I don't remember the names of the other three that we had but they had similar experiences. They had a good selection to choose from, had ample staff to cater to the busy time, and service was friendly. The six pack was $11. The concept is good, but the product execution needs serious attention. Three stars is more than fair, if a little generous. The same poor quality was experienced at the Novi Twelve Oaks Mall location, but I don't see that location listed in Yelp to rate it also.

This place was a great surprise! I was in town for a conference and Yelped cupcake places nearby (what can I say, I was alone and needed to fuel my obsession). Just Baked was right around the corner! SCORE! I dropped in and the nice lady behind the counter apologized for not having more to choose from. It was 2:30 and I was impressed by the selection. I picked up a chocolate chip cookie dough, Chubby Hubby, and salted caramel. The chocolate chip cookie dough was divine (I am actually sharing, yes, sharing, the other 2 flavors tomorrow so I do not know how they taste yet). Great flavor! Amazingly delicious cake and icing perfection. Thanks to the check in deal, I got 3 cupcakes for under $6! Also, friend them on facebook for a free secret flavor of the day. I got a snickerdoodle cookie too. We WILL be stopping by the next time we're in town. I may not be able to wait. Thank goodness they ship!

As Christine R. said, the cupcake craze has hit the city, and we've found the spot to get 'em! The bakery doesn't look like much, from the inside or out, but let me tell you about the smells! I am already a Pavlovian addict to this place! Arguably, most bakeries smell great, but there is something in the air when you find somewhere that is special. It's got that Grandma's-kitchen-rich-vanilla-deep-baked-in-smell that makes you salivate instantly and relaxes you instantly. I was sold on first sniff. Then we "taste tested" the owner's favorite cupcake: Rocky Road. Amazing. I am at a loss for words. Again, I will have to reference Christine's review. The cake was tender and perfect. Each cupcake, it turns out, has different qualities about it that are wonderful and unique. The cake on the RR, was soft and light to balance out the rich, delicious toppings. The strawberry was dense and actually heavy, but so incredible. The frosting was, as best as I can guess, homemade whipped cream impregnated with fresh strawberries and vanilla. It was hardly sweetened and the clean, fresh flavor of each ingredient was so easily identified. I think that it goes without saying that I love this place :) We are definitely going to be frequent fliers here. The best part, was upon talking about other cupcakeries (yes, I just coined that term:)), the owner never once said anything bad about other places until Christine offered her critique. He was very diplomatic and professional, and I really appreciated that. I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone. It is AWESOME. I warned them we'd be back, maybe we can get them to start a "repeat offender" club....yum!

I've had Just Baked in the past and I've always liked their cupcakes (try the peanut butter chocolate...my fav!) I used their cupcakes for my wedding and they were a huge hit! Everyone raved about them! We had 6 different flavors and both chocolate varietys (peanut butter chocolate & bumpy cake) were gone by the end of the night! I will continue to get cupcakes from there, because they are pretty darn good!

I just tried the White Chocolate Raspberry cupcake and it was fabulous! It has white chocolate chips mixed into both the cake batter and the icing. Amazing! I also tried the Red Velvet Cupcake and it was not good...it's better at Astoria. Oh and they just opened a location at Twelve Oaks Mall, so it's open later than the Livonia location. So not good for my waistline :(

I'm a little surprised with all of the poor reviews because I went to Just Baked this weekend and fell in love! I travel the country looking for cupcake joints and I happened to learn about Just Baked while I was home visiting my parents. I wasn't expecting much, to be honest with you, because aside from Cupcake Station in Birmingham, Michigan hasn't really hopped on the cupcake band wagon. But when I first walked into Just Baked I'm sure my eyes got huge. On a Sunday afternoon they had approximately 20 different cupcakes, full-stocked, for us to choose from! I went in with the intention of buying 2 and walked out with 6. So far we've eaten 4 of them - Red Velvet (perfect frosting and VERY moist cake!), Samoa (just like the cookie!), Grasshopper (very minty and VERY chocolate-y), and Sweet Potato Pie (that's right - pie in cupcake form). Each of these cakes has been freaking amazing and I can't wait to try the final two we have - Lemon and Peach Cobbler. Just Baked is going to be a "Can't Miss" location every time I'm in Michigan!

Like most of the other reviewers, I'm not from Livonia. In fact, I'm not from anywhere near Livonia. I took an hour (round-trip) out of my Sunday to get myself a cupcake and it was more than worth it. It would be enough if just the cupcakes were incredible. (Don't worry, they are.) However, the people who run the place are also delightful. The guy helping me recommended a bumpy cake cupcake (good recommendation!) and then was even nice enough to ask me which decoration I wanted on my MSU cupcake, basketball or Spartan. (There was an MSU game that afternoon.) And the prices were great; three cupcakes for an even $6? Awesome! Now, about those cupcakes ... I hate dry cupcakes, and too many bakery-style ones are. Either that, or to counteract the tendency to dry out, the baker will just make the cake too dense. Thankfully, neither of those issues present themselves in a Just Baked cupcake. They're light and fluffy and flavorful and just moist enough. And the frosting is incredible. I personally sampled two different cupcakes: the bumpy cake and a plain chocolate cupcake with white frosting. I couldn't even tell you which one I liked more. The bumpy cake one was so rich and delicious, with devil's food cupcake and delicious little creamy "bumps" and a yummy chocolate ganache frosting. But the plain chocolate was so simple and yummy, exactly what you think of when you hear "cupcake." So, in regards to Just Baked, I'm fairly certain you just can't go wrong. They have a selection of gourmet cupcakes that's so delicious that you'll feel like you'll never be able to choose, and then if you can't choose and just want a simple cupcake, they're equally delicious. This is the best cupcake I've ever purchased in Metro Detroit.

I purchased 1/2 dozen cupcakes in a variety of flavors. I was really disappointed as I was expecting the quality to be as good, if not better than the cupcake station. The cupcakes are VERY appealing to the eye, probably the most I have ever seen. However, all 6 were very dry and lacking flavor.

Just Baked is my heaven. This place in fantastic! I have tried many of the flavors and they were all perfect. Bumpy Cake is my personal favorite. I ordered my son's birthday cupcakes from here and everyone raved. Not only were they cute, but they tasted great! Now a close friend of mine is ordering wedding cupcakes from them. I highly suggest visiting them in Livonia or in 12 Oaks Mall.

I was incredibly excited about this place when it first opened. FINALLY! A cupcake bakery in the metro area! After spending a lot of time on the west coast and sampling Sprinkles Cupcakes out there, I was ready to fill the cupcake void in my life with Just Baked. I first visited the bakery back in 2009 when it first opened. The cupcakes were gigantic and came in a huge variety of flavors. It was also kind of charming, with the whole family (mom, dad, kids) serving the customers. I received very friendly service and very delicious cupcakes (lemon, white chocolate raspberry, and grumpy cake) Fast forward to today, September 2010, and Just Baked now has four locations with another on the way (across from Ikea Canton). I definitely have to give the family a lot of credit for the empire they've created! However, as far as I know, baking is all done at the Livonia location and then the cupcakes are shipped out to the other locations. I've been to the Novi location, and in my opinion, the cupcakes reflect the fact that they're really not "Just Baked". Overall the cupcakes at the Novi one have been dry (and the cupcakes seem to be getting smaller as well). Overall, my love for Just Baked has died down. I still go for the occasional cupcake, though. Basically I subtracted two stars for these reasons: 1. Quality diminished at Novi location. 2. Smaller cupcakes at a high price.

Just had a Samoa cupcake and it was better than the girl scout cookie. Drizzles of caramel, a dusting of coconut, it was really great. I bought 6 altogether for a friends birthday at work and the whole variety looks delicious. You can't beat the price of $2 per cupcake, when they are large and made with obvious care. Just Baked rocks!

We ordered a sheet cake for our holiday party- it was delicious and almost too beautiful to eat! The design was cute and much more detailed than we had expected.

Looking for a great cupcake/sweets bakery in Farmington Hills, and this one takes the cake. The vanilla cupcake and chocolate cupcake were beautifully simple and delicious. The frosting-to-cake ratio is spot on, in my opinion (nice, tall cupcake, not overly frosted). Definitely a go-to for your cupcake needs. Haven't tried anything else other than 6 different flavored cupcakes: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Lemon, Peanut butter + chocolate, and I can't remember the sixth right now... but they were all very, very good.
