I have eaten breakfast lunch and dinner at the Alibi. Gala and the wait staff are extremely attentive to their guests needs. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The menu is a original, and the taste is delicous. Highly recommended for a quiet evening meal, or the end of the trail from a long day of motorcycling.

A delightful place to eat & drink. Whenever I'm in the Ionia area I make plans to stop by the Alibi. Good food, good drinks, good service & a great value. Ask for Gala tell her Augie sent you!

I used to go here when it was called Gregory's Tavern. Now it has a new owner and a new name, but I can't tell much difference, which for me isn't a problem because I liked it before and I like it now. They have a slightly better on tap selection than Gregory's, but with the craft beer revolution, most places have upgraded their beer offerings in the past few years unless they want to appeal only to people who wear Depends undergarments. The waitress was trying to tell me Gregory's had more of a bar atmosphere and that the Alibi is more of a restaurant, but I tell you, to me it's 95% the same. This is a good small town bar and grill without the superficial trappings of a chain place. Sometimes, even though most chains serve good food, I just can't handle the fake enthusiasm of the staff of such places when I just want a beer and a burger without enduring the formulaic fanfare

Wow, love the specials! There always seems to be something new to try. Stopped for lunch, and for same price as a sub shop, got a nice hot meal brought to me with a smile! Nice clean bar & grill with great home cooked style food.

Really great burger. Excellent service. The beer was outstanding. Absolutely unexpected and excellent find here outside Ionia. The worst thing I can say about the place is that any hope we had of not going out to eat as much not that we moved out in the country might not be shot since the little place right down on the corner is going to be a whole lot more appealing than eating in.

Use to go to this building when it was a dive bar (although never dared eat there). It is now totally remodeled and gorgeous inside. My brothers and I were blown away way this this place. New owners and staff are great. And the menu is something you would expect to find in a major city with an incredible variety of selections. Everything we ate was outstanding. A "must" visit place on my next visit to town.

Really enjoyed this place for our first visit. Family friendly, not too big, kind wait staff & a great assortment of food and drinks. Locally owned!

We have given this establishment multiple chances to improve their service, but if anything it's getting worse. Maybe worst of all, they are not familiar with smoking laws! We had to share the patio with 2 smokers who totally ruined our experience.

Excellent service, friendly staff, great tasting food and a solid beer selection. I had their tsunami burger and it was cooked perfectly. Their beer batter fries are delicious too! Couldn't ask for more from a local eatery. I highly recommend this place and will be a frequent visitor.

Being from Los Angeles, and being intolerant to Gluten... It's actually quite difficult to find an establishment with gluten free burger buns :( it saddens me to not have that option (surprisingly) in a big city like L.A. But guess what.... I was visiting Michigan with a friend and I found a spot with GF BURGER BUNS!!! This changed my lyyyyyyyyyfe!!! And actually, the place is located in a cute corner down a scenic road (lol... sorry I amused to city streets) and the ambiance was super cool. Very modern yet kept its respectful age of the building in tact. Large parking lot and awesome selection on the menu. Lots of beer to order from but I was unfortunately there for an early lunch... too early to party. I will definitely go back for a tasty burger next time I am in town. Only downside was the onion rings.. they were some kind of specialty rings that were not fried all the way through and the batter was super thin...actually my boyfriend ordered these since I cannot consume fried (wheat battered) foods... and he was not a huge fan. They did look very thin and measly.

We stopped in while driving back from up north. I like to find local places to eat while traveling and I came across this place. I had my two young children with me (4,7) and my mom. Atmosphere was great, had a great looking menu and they had coloring books for the kids! The food was excellent! My mom got the steak sandwich and she loved it. My daughter did not care for the kids chicken tenders but my other one loved her hamburger. Our waitress was very nice and let us know right away she was new. Overall dinner was great and I will go back next time I'm headed to or from our lake home!

Unassuming and out of the way in Ionia, Michigan. This two year old place takes over for the failing Corner restaurant which had major failings in its end. Coming late after 9 pm on a Thursday to a place that shuts up at 1 am, I was not sure what to expect. Walk in the door and it's loud with locals at the bar. Salad blue cheese Schnitzel potatoes gravy dill sauce. Water. Noise corner area TV. Not a good cut of meat. Cube steak(hamburger). Burnt. Thought I wouldn't notice. Haha. Just a note: my tab was billed twice and the waitstaff refunded the difference in cash. Hmm and no pen to sign a tip to cc. Pondering that one. She said she couldn't cancel once it was rung up. Server: China

LOVE that they offer a gluten free menue. It's about time a place in Ionia has some good food. The atmosphere was good. The outside patio has a nice seating area. It would be nice to see some sort of bug "catcher" or something. It can get buggy out there. The burgers are awesome, with a name like Juicy Loose (cheese stuffed, baccon burger) & a macaroni and cheese burger you can't go wrong! The French fries, OMG the french fries are like a little bit of crispy heaven in your mouth. The onion rings need some work. The breading just falls off. The staff are very much on top of things. I swear I would set my empty glass down and the waitress was there to hand me another coke, or to get my plate or whatever I needed. It was like he was watching me....lol. FYI it is way different they when it was Greggorys Tavern. The inside decor is cute with a bit of a retro theme and the menue has some really interesting items on the menue. It is a place to drive over to and try. Thank the heaven their is finally a place that is good to eat at in Ionia.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Very attentive and helpful. Lots of activity behind the bar as most of the waitstaff were filling their own drink orders. Everyone seemed happy, and they were all working as a team. Beer selection seemed about average for a bar this size. I had the special, Arcadia Anglers Ale $3 pint. To eat, I had the fried catfish basket and it was tasty. My wife had the mushroom burger, she said it was a little dry, but she ordered it done medium well, so that's to be expected. Nothing a little mayo couldn't resolve. We will definitely return.
