Used to be much better for lunch when they had a buffet. They have very good strombolis & I love the Italian sub, but now if you want to get in and out in less than an hour your only ordering option is soup & salad if you're not doing take out.

Great place , the place was open late on a Sunday in a town with not much, and it was top notch, a menu with a bunch of great choices and they got all the bases covered. The food came out and it all looked and tasty, we were all happy. So glad we found this place with the help from yelp, definitely a good choice.

Everyone was friendly. Had the BBQ chicken pizza. It was so good. I was eye balling their burritos that apparently a lot of people were ordering. Might have to get that tomorrow being my last day in Ionia.

Now that's an Italian Hamburger What I like to do sometimes is try a menu item outside the norm for the type of restaurant. It doesn't always work out but this time I had great results. I ordered a cheese burger with their "Homemade chips." Not all restaurants can pull this off either. I've had some homemade chips are too hard, or don't taste right. However, The Chefs at Olivera's got their potato treats just right. They didn't taste salty at all either but did have a unique taste. I'm thinking some kind of parmesan sprinkling? I also ordered their tomato basil soup which is very much like my favorite tomato bisque. It came with a reasonable portion of garlic bread and a very generous amount of saltines. The delivery didn't take as long as I expected either and he more than earned his tip.

Best pizza I ever had! My daughter and I along with some friends went to Olivera's last Tuesday evening. Three of us ordered pizza. I ordered the Meat Roma Pizza. It was absolutely amazing. I have eaten great pizza in New York, Chicago and Detroit. In my opinion, this was the best. The complimentary cheesy bread and red sauce was delicious. Two of our group ordered sandwiches and loved them. Our service was excellent and prices were quite reasonable. I will definitely go back. I had stopped by earlier, sat at the bar and ordered some spicy wings to go. My waitress, Olivia, let me try several Michigan craft beers until I found two I really liked. She was extremely welcoming and attentive. I left her a ten dollar tip for a ten dollar tab. I love this restaurant and will always go back when I am up this way from Alabama, where I am from.

The pizza isn't horrible, but it's a far cry from great. The toppings are fresh and plentiful enough. It's the dough that falls short. We tried twice based on the reviews and lack of anything else in Ionia, and couldn't do it anymore. When we want good pizza it's worth the drive to GR to go to JTs. That's the most awesome pizza outside Chicago. We went again last night. I has lasagne. Wife had a burger. The lasagne was very good despite a poor red sauce. The burger was weird tasting and couldn't be finished. Something with the meat was strange. The selection of beer is what keeps the place at four stars . Great selection of Michigan beers on draught. Good staff, for the most part. Decent prices. If I had to choose a place in Ionia to eat, I would hit the Alibi first, but Oliveras is a close second. Hopefully yelp doesn't catch on here so most folks will keep going to the well known place and I can still get a table at the better place.

I had the meat pizza. I thought it was excellent with a flavorful, chewy crust. I liked the 100% Michigan craft beers for the on-tap selections. They also have a good atmosphere and attentive waitstaff. Unless there is somewhere I don't know about in the immediate area, this might be the best place to eat or have beer in Ionia.

I went to Olivera's on 4/5/2014. My wife ordered a $12.00 salad. I ordered Tuscany Chicken, and a side salad. The waitress was walking off when I told her what I wanted for my salad dressing. When our meals came, mine was served with mashed potatoes, and it was supposted to to be on a bed of rice. I asked if it was supposted to come with rice, and the reply I recived was, "We are out of rice. This is what we are substituting with." My wife did not get any salad dressing with her meal. I was ready to shake the shit off the cage, but my wife did not want me to embarrass her. instead, the $2.50 tip may have given the tattoo chick a hint. For the trainers at Olivera's,let the customers know when you are out of something, so the can make the choice to order it or not! I will never go back, due to shitty service!!!!!!!!!!

Olivera's is in a new location on Dexter street. I preferred the old location and the building because I felt it had the small town charm. The new bar is decent for a bar in Ionia but it could not compete with a big city bar like those in Grand Rapids. The service was absolutely awful. There were two bartenders working and a full rail, and on at least more than one occasion there were no bartenders behind the bar. When there are two bartenders, aren't one of them always supposed to stay and watch the bar? My first beer bottle remained empty before I finally had to verbally flag down the bartender and hold up my empty bottle to show her that I was interested in consuming another alcoholic beverage. I hope these two girls are not the main bartenders because they're boring and awful at their jobs. Beside the bad service, I was surprised by the decent beer selection and the quality of the food. Good food. Semi-ok location. Horrible service. Clueless bartenders. Lost it's small town charm.

This is literally the only place to eat at in downtown Ionia that I trust not to give me some sort of food born illness. The rating is inflated to four stars only because everything else around it is so horrible. Don't get me wrong though the food is good and comes quick at lunch time. Had the blackened chicken salad and tomato basil soup. Both were good. Free breadsticks were decent too. If I for some reason found myself in downtown Ionia at night I would probably be here. Lots of TVs and a full bar.

This place has only gotten better. The menu has expanded so much from when they first opened and all the food is delicious whether it's the jambalaya, the pizza, you name it it's good. And now in their new location it's a beer lovers paradise taps taps taps taps taps taps taps of all sorts and varieties if you want it...they PROBABLY have it on tap. That being said the replace is well divided into two distinct halves. The sports pub on one end with about a thousand and one televisions playing your favorite sports and the bar, and on the other half is the quieter family dining area and having been on both sides of the fence you almost forget the other half of the restaurant exists it's almost like two locations in one. Top notch

Great job olivera's! It was my first time there. Wonderful wait staff and high quality food, especially for the price. Nice atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for a big step above Apple Bees for similar prices. Id say there biggest need for improvement is the parking situation. Just not enough room. I'll be back.

Olivera's has wonderful food! My favorite is the veggie stromboli, but they have several flavors on the menu. Lunchtimes are great if you want the buffet. They've been adding more and more items to the menu since they opened, and I'm really looking forward to what they do once they open in their new location later this year!

This restaurant in its old location had become quite good the last couple years with a good selection of food. My recent visit to the new location turned out rather disappointing. They prices have been raised significantly, and some of my favorite items like the sirloin insalata have been taken off the menu. I found the salad I ordered to be small and overpriced and really not that good. The same with the other meals my party ordered and we all left unimpressed. Ionia doesn't have too many nicer restaurants besides fast food and Im hoping this restaurant will improve like it had in the past. For now I guess its the Lamplight or a trip out of town. I will say that it still remains a good place to get a drink and catch a game.

We used Olivera's to cater a memorial service, and they exceeded my expectations. We didn't have to worry about any issues on the day. Davin took care of all of the details sensitively and efficiently, on budget with wonderful food. I highly recommend them for catering as well as a wonderful local restaurant, which is how I was first introduced to them. Thank you so much Davin, and Olivera's!

When Olivera's was at their old location we have never had a bad meal, everything we got was fantastic! We have been to the new location several times, amazing inside but the food just is not the same.. The pizza we just got on Saturday had a few pieces of toppings, hardly any cheese or sauce. At first we thought maybe they just need to get used to the new place/equipment etc. not so sure now. It's a shame, I hope they get it together at the new location, there are not any good restaurants in Ionia. I can say we will not be back for a while, very disappointed

My experience with Olivera's so far is pretty much limited to their pizza. But that experience is incredible. The sauce is delicious, the crust is delicious, and the toppings are abundant, tasty, and satisfying. Definitely the best pizza in Ionia, (maybe even the best I've ever had, period)! The price is reasonable for what you get, but just don't expect pizza-pizza prices for pizzeria quality.

Best place for lunch in Ionia...hands down! Everyone loves the pizza buffet but I have other things on the menu that I like much better! However, try a breadstick....yum. My favorite thing here is the buffalo chicken salad (I get it grilled). Although it is large, it is over priced as well. If it were maybe a dollar or two cheaper it would be perfect! The turkey and cheese sub is great! I would recommend mayo on the side...they add a lot. The Sicilian chicken is the greatest value and delicious! It's around 4oz of grilled chicken with a side and a trip to the salad bar. Service is great too! All the servers are very nice and attentive.

I live in Phoenix these days and haven't been "home" in about six years. Olivera's is where it's at in Ionia! Good food, great service and a really great place to have a small class reunion for me and my friends (IHS Class of '96). I don't remember our servers name but she deserves an award for putting up with all of us that night. She was very friendly and really took a lot of jokes in stride!! I understand there's a new location opening up across from the fair grounds... CONGRATS!! If it's half as good as this location it's already a WINNER!!

When you're out in Mid Michigan and need something good to eat then I think I found a good spot. Nestled between Lansing and Grand Rapids is the spot of Ionia. Ionia proper is about 8 miles North of 96 and that's where person will find Olivera's Sports Pub & Grill. I went because the pizza is good and my other half was all about getting a slice T my amazement, not only did Olivera's have Fat Tire on draft but also had a killer bacon cheeseburger. This mean burger came as 1/2 lb of Angus cooked Med rare and loaded with bacon, cheddar, sauteed shrooms and onions, lettuce, and tomato. his thing sells for $8.99 and make it a double for another $2.50, so I did. Coupled with $5.99 for a tall mug of Fat Tire, this joint is touch costly but the band plays on. The service here is good, Brooke took care of our needs, and is has a perfect layout of a sorts bar and restaurant. This is a place that would be a fun time to come in for evening drinks, there was a diverse crowd and the place just seems like it will rock. Burger- 4.5 Price- 3.5 Service- 4 Overall- 4 That burger was amazing. I wish I could have one about everyday! The toppings alone were so tasty they could be sold as a stand alone appetizer! Check them out!

Yum! Had lunch here - party of four. Two shared a pizza, I had an Italian hot sandwich and another the wet burrito. This was easily the best meal we had while visiting Grand Rapids. Lunch was perfect. Me lady and I got oursevles stromboli's. They were excellent. With our lunch came free breadsticks and salad. The breadsticks were better than olive gardens (AND THAT'S SAY SOMETHING FOR ME). The salad? Wasn't bad. The best part of the meal was DEFINITELY the stromboli. Can't recommend these enough. Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Used to be much better for lunch when they had a buffet. They have very good strombolis & I love the Italian sub, but now if you want to get in and out in less than an hour your only ordering option is soup & salad if you're not doing take out.

Love this restaurant the food is great and the people are always so friendly . I'm so glad that they are coming to Portland

(4)Orson B.

Awesome!! Modern quality culinary inspired pizzeria, great pasta! Wonderful Stromboli, not a bad item on the menu, great drinks and atmosphere, perfect for those tired of boring food :) yum!!!
(5)Chad M.
(2)David Lori S.
Great Chicken Alfredo pizza! Our waitress was helpful and pleasant. The service was very good, and the place was busy, but not crowded.
(5)Kevin S.
I just went for takeout, but had excellent food and well packaged. Looked nice inside restaurant and will be back next time in town. Large portion of lasagna and great side salad...house made lemon vinaigrette.
(5)Kyle M.
(4)Joshua G.
Top notch
(5)Benjamin B.
(4)Amy L.
Olivera's has wonderful food! My favorite is the veggie stromboli, but they have several flavors on the menu. Lunchtimes are great if you want the buffet. They've been adding more and more items to the menu since they opened, and I'm really looking forward to what they do once they open in their new location later this year!
(4)Michael N.
(2)Norbert W.
(5)Tiffany G.
(2)Jesse F.
(4)Foodie L.
(4)Marty N.
(5)Amber R.
Stopped in 3 days while in town on business. Food, atmosphere, and staff are top notch. Had the Stromboli one day and pizza another. The pizza is superb.. If not the best I've had very close 2 it. Love the new location. Keep up the great work!
(5)Patrick M.
I've only eaten here once but I plan on doing it again when I'm in the area! The food and atmosphere was great!

(4)Elizabeth S.
Yum! Had lunch here - party of four. Two shared a pizza, I had an Italian hot sandwich and another the wet burrito. This was easily the best meal we had while visiting Grand Rapids. Everything (I had a chance to taste all) was delicious. Service was very friendly and prompt. Wish I had this restaurant in my hometown! Kudos!
(5)Mandi D.
Definitely not what I expected at a sports bar. Try the pizza & pasta buffet for lunch. Great food at a great price. They just updated their menu. Waitstaff is usually friendly & attentive, even when the place is very busy. I've never had to wait for a table. Parking spots can be a little hard to come by when they're busy.
(5)Nic L.
While the main red sauce was okay, the garlic butter sauce on the stromboli was enough to make the meal amazing. Highly recommend for lunch, 20 bucks including tip, well worth it. Will go again!
(4)Sammi J.
Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Every time I've been here the food and service was great. I've the mac & cheese, and a couple of the other pasta dishes and they were always good. The salads were always fresh and the soups are also good. They also have Keno if you like to play. They also have a decent beer selection.
(5)Woody Z.
When you're in the mood for pizza, you can't go wrong with Olivera's. Nice, clean, restaurant with fresh food. But for me the experience is hampered by the atmosphere. Although I like the looks of their new place, made of stone and steel, it feels cold and hard with many echos from the patrons and sound system.

While the main red sauce was okay, the garlic butter sauce on the stromboli was enough to make the meal amazing. Highly recommend for lunch, 20 bucks including tip, well worth it. Will go again!
