Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Finding Back Alley is like a light at the end of a long, local eating odyssey. Okay, two months really but long enough to sample the competition and realize that what Back Alley does is best described as delicious. The crust is a little crunchy, the sauce a little saucy in the best kinda way... sorry about the food porn nature of the description but these ladies really hit it outta the ball park. Thank you for making my eating adventures here in Southwest Michigan a tasty adventure. The salads are huge- big enough for a couple to share. Calzones to order make even the pickiest of eater a fan. The outdoor seating area is picnic table ala self-serve. They deliver, and open late!

Interesting pizzas with fresh ingredients. The Mediterranean pizza is like a Greek salad on dough. Meat lovers is super meaty. My favorite was the chicken ranch pizza.

Grinders are insanely awesome and huge! Highly rated!! First review on yelp too. Definitely get your money's worth here!

Great food for an awesome price. Grinders are massive! And a great variety day to day with the ready made pizza.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Highly recommend based on value, quality and customer service. I've only ordered the grinders but my co-workers have highly recommended the pizza. Grinders are sold in 7" and 15" lengths and are delicious. The 7" is enough for a grown man plus some leftover. The back alley supreme is my fav. Bread is delicious. Workers are super friendly. I'd go here for lunch if you are in the area. Take the sub with you and sit on the beach, you won't be disappointed.

Meh. Average pizza, even for Michigan. The toppings were fresh, but the pizza was lukewarm even though picked up exactly at the time promised. The garlic bread is large in size but pedestrian in taste. Look elsewhere unless you are truly in need of delivery. Even then, they quoted me 1.5 hours...

Frickin. Amazing. Pizza! Can't wait to try sandwiches and other items. Worth the higher than average pizza price. One of our new favorite spots.

Had great food that was so good and the people are so nice. You ask it if they have it they do it. My mom and my cousins went with me and me mom has a allergy and they worked around it. No questions asked. Always go there. It is the best!!

if you like horse radish and beef combo, then you would love their Just Horsin' Around Pizza. very flavorful with a kick to it. their vegetarian pizza is also a good one if you are into veggies like me.

The ambience is right in line with our tastes. Small, quaint and clearly well loved by it's owners and staff. There are only two tables indoors that seat two each for dine-in next to the roadside window so if you show up with a van full of kids then you may want to carry your pies across the street to the park or down the street to the lakeside where they can terrorize and/or get terrorized by the geese. If you're gregarious you'll likely find friendly moments of conversation with the staff while they perform their craft. They offer a copious variety for pizza toppings. Vegetarians won't feel constricted to limited options, a failing my boyfriend finds with many menus. He ravaged his goat cheese, spinach and fungus pie and he was happy to quell the raging hunger within after moving day. This won't be the last meal from this pizza joint that meets its fate in our bellies.

Great pizza. We stop here most every time we are in Douglas at least once. Great idea for a weekend evening when you want to avoid a crowd. They use fresh toppings and in just the right amount. Sauce has lots of flavor and the crusty is always crisp.

A very unique and delicious combination of cheese, tomato sauce and sausage that was unlike other pizzas. Probably much closer to New York style (the crust was not crispy therefore foldable) than Chicago but eminently a worthwhile stop. Very limited seating (two tables with six chairs inside, two small picnic tables outside).

We drive long time. We need food. We want 'za. We Yelp Back Alley Pizza Joint. Upon arriving at our cabin in Saugatuck, we called in an order to Back Alley Pizza Joint for some grub. We ordered a large with sausage and green peppers, and it got to us piping hot, cheesy and ready to eat. A large is about 8 good size slices, so we each got 2. It's pretty decent pizza. Bubbling hot cheese, huge pieces of sausage, a crusty, crunchy crust - not bad at all. When we come back and we're in need of a quick meal, we'll definitely come back to the Back Alley Pizza Joint.

This is my new favorite pizza! Tops it all! Tim and Michelle visiting from St. Louis

I can't believe no one has mentioned the grinders. They are fantastic! Tasty, fresh and huge! The whole is definitely enough to split with another person. The grinders never disappoint!

Raining in Saugatuck/Douglas tonight and ordered a small, complicated pizza for carry out. Joint only has one type crust (traditional) in Summer. No specials. Pie was fantastic! Nice chunks of sausage, generous portions of veggies, paper plates and napkins came with. If you're in town and tired of the hoity-toity wannabe restaurants hereabouts, gotta try this place. Not Gino's (but what is, outside Chi-town), but it's still a good pie. I'll be back!

Simply one of the best pies I've eaten. Served piping hot (delivered, no less) with fresh, zesty sauce and tasty cheese, generous fresh toppings and a chewy, flavorful crust. There is no flourish or showboating here--no gimmicks...just great pie. I'm not opposed to artisan pizza combination that change up the traditions of dough, sauce or cheese, but if you can't build a traditional pie this good, I usually suspect a place that offers up "gourmet" options with chicken and pesto sauce are either long jumping for a niche--or (more often) glossing over the fact that everyone can make pizza, but making one *this good* is tough. I couldn't even be sure what else they have on the menu--but if I'm within 35 miles of this place I will be swerving in to grab a pie, even if it's just to take it home across state to munch on later.

I was surprised to read the other reviews after we ate here. maybe it's just the delivery . . . We were really happy with the pizza and were pleasantly surprised by the hummus appetizer. Everyone was very nice, the food came fast and it tasted great. What else can I ask for?

So, with a week to sample the local eats in Douglas and saugatuck, we figured we'd try a pie from the pizza joint. It looks like the kind of place where locals might eat, and with a man and his son behind the counter I was sold. So glad we did - the pizza was awesome! Perfect thin crust, right amount if cheese and nicely seasoned sauce. They have all the toppings you'd want, and some specialty pizzas too, in case you can't decide. Their menu includes sandwiches and other things, but we just tried the pizza. It was so good, we came back again during our week-long stay in Douglas.

Nice staff and decent service. We ordered sandwiches that we thought were forgettable. If this is an indication of the pizza, I would pass.

Good pizza when you need something quick at a good price.
