    My wife and I had dinner there this evening with a friend. We all live in Dearborn and had dinner there last year not long after they opened. My wife had the Chicken Piccata with green beans and a salad and I had Bleu Burger with steak fries. The bun on the burger was wonderful, and the burger was was quite good. The Piccata was excellent and so was the salad and the nice thin green beans. The load of hot Sicilian bread was wonderful too, has nice crust and tender inside. The burger was excellent and cooked to order, the steak fries were ok too. The waitress was good and the food was delivered in a timely manner. She checked on us regularly and was always pleasant. Overall this dinner was great and so was the one before several months back. We had lunch there a few times first and thought the food was good and the lunch prices seemed like a real bargain. This is why we came for dinner. The prices are higher then the lunch menus but that would be expected. We had soups there at lunch and they too were always good and they had a variety of soups. We will go back again for lunch and for dinner.

    Food, venue, and service were all terrible. It's unusual to fail in all 3 categories! Starting off with the food; the appetizer selection looks like something a stoner with an empty fridge finagled together. We chose to forgo an appetizer. I ordered the Chicken piccata which was soaked in a bed 2 inches deep of oil and lacked flavor. My date got the chicken Parmesan which tasted weird - like a stale can of Ragu. The venue itself was empty (for obvious reasons other posters have stated.) The TV was cranked up to max volume despite the fact no one was watching it. When we got our food, one of the kitchen staff began mopping the floor and left the defecating bucket of pine-sol right next to our table. You would think with 25 other empty tables in the room he could've chosen another spot... or perhaps not mopped when there were people eating... The service is where it took a turn for the worse. The waitress forgot what I ordered and asked me to repeat it. Then she brought my date's salad and forgot mine. I had to request it. When dinner was served, she forgot the sicilian bread that comes with each of our dishes. Again, I had to request something that the menu stated was included. She brought 1 for our table, instead of 1 for each of us. When she asked how our food was, she stood behind the bar and yelled, "HOW'S EVERYTHING!?" ... really? Really?! Couldn't walk the 10 feet to our table? Worst $47 we ever spent. Will not be back.

    This restaurant at the corner of Pelham and Outer Drive is outstanding. Great fresh prepared food and full bar. I have tried a different item everytime I have eaten there from the 1/2 burger to veal pacata and it's great. The restaurant is named after his pet dog. Our dog has the same name which is what attracted our attention to Echo's Place initially. It is well worth the time. First time, a restaurant right around the corner from our house that is so good. The staff is wonderful as well as the chef! Doug Richards

    I've been wanting to try Echo's Place as it's just a few blocks from my house. Finally got around to going this week. As some other reviewers mentioned, this location seems to have very poor luck. There is very, very little parking available... I estimate eight parking spots, so if the place is busy at all you have to drive around and find parking elsewhere. There have been four different restaurants in this location since I moved into the area in 2005. There was one other table when we arrived, around 7pm, and once they left we were the only customers in the place. Ambiance was dark and a bit drab, but definitely clean and well maintained. We ordered the Crab Puppies, a take on hush puppies with copious amounts of crab and a very tasty dipping sauce. I thought this was probably the highlight of the meal, and would definitely order if I return. My entree was deep fried lake perch. The perch were good, with a slightly sweet breading. I had tater tots as one side dish - these looked like they probably came from a frozen bag bought at GFS, but I didn't ask to verify. They were fine. My other side dish was the "seasoned pasta," which was (in opinion) the big miss of the meal. It came out super oily (the small crock was at least half full of yellow buttery oil). It had very little flavor other than cheese and a hint of garlic. If I had eaten it, I can guarantee I would have had a stomach ache. My companion ordered prime rib with onions and mushrooms. The kitchen could only do medium (not medium rare), which I've heard of before but it makes me scratch my head regarding the quality of the food. The flavor was fine, if perhaps a bit underseasoned, and the mushroom/onion on top was great. She had the tater tots and the beef barley soup. The soup was good. One odd note: the only "vegetable" available as a side dish is cole slaw. I'm shocked that an upscale place that advertises as a steak restaurant doesn't have steamed veggies like asparagus or broccoli on the menu. Since myself and my partner aren't huge cole slaw fans, we ended up eating a very starch-and-meat centric meal, which feels unhealthy and not like something I could do often. Service was pleasant, visited the table the perfect number of times, and made sure we were never lacking in refills. Overall, I don't know that I'll return to Echo's Place for dinner, but might go back to try their burgers and lunch menu, which looked more promising.

    Had the deep fried shrimp, $15.00. You would think for that price that you would receive as described on their menu. Not only were they out of coleslaw this fact was revealed to me as they were serving my meal, not acceptable. No alternate offered, not acceptable. On top of all of this, meal came 4 to 5 minutes after my Wife's, strike 3. Over priced, roll of the dice. Bill did not reflect the shortcomings.

    Like many other long-time residences of Dearborn, I've seen the building that is now "Echo's Place" go through two iterations of the "The Dearborn Tavern", and one other restaurant that escapes my mind. It just seems that every restaurant that is on this corner never seems to last all that long. Unfortunately, based on my dining experience I think Echo's place will endure the same fate as it's predecessors. When I entered the restaurant the place was practically empty for a Wednesday evening, my date and I were promptly seated. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and even knew every beer on the list off the top-of-her-head. Much to my surprise they carried a fair amount of craft beer here so that was a plus. Unfortunately the beer was probably the highlight of my meal. My date and I both ordered the baked cod, cole slaw, and sweet potato fries. When the food arrived it looked quite appetizing, as everything looked "just so" on the plate. The sweet potato fries were even accompanied by a maple sauce, so I was kind of excited to dig in. My first bite of cod was the pre-cursor to a plethora of disappointment that was to follow. The cod was meaty and flaky, but it was BLAND-BLAND-BLAND!! The cole slaw which also looked appetizing at first was so finely minced and runny I could've drank it with a straw - gross. So I moved on to the only item that I knew was be my silver lining - sweet potato fries. I have to admit the fries weren't bad; however, the maple sauce that was served with it was not appropriate to be served with the fries as it was WAY too sweet. Think of it as drinking chocolate milk while eating chocolate cake - just too-too much sweetness. Had my fries been served with some kind of spicy sauce that would've paired much better, but alas it wasn't. I think the owners & chefs are trying to make a valiant effort to try and spruce up the menu items here, but they're missing the mark. This place has potential, but I think they need to focus on going back to some fundamental cooking basics before trying to go over the top.

    We have been here for lunch. They have great lunch specials and are good about getting your food to you so you can get back to work in time. The food has been good every time we have tried it and each of us has gotten different items. I've had salad, hamburger, sandwiches. All were good. Honestly, my fav was the burger. I think its easy to ruin a burger and I also think its rare when you order a burger Med and it comes out that way. This place has gotten it right in flavor and level of done. Great job! Very friendly as well.

    Went on Friday night for dinner and the place was busy. We sat at the bar and ordered a angus captain burger and my wife had their angus house burger. Both were very good, juicy and cooked med. the way we ordered them. Their clam chowder was also very good. The service was good and the barmaid was friendly. We were told to try there BBQ ribs. Next time we will.

    Our server was very friendly and personable, but they didn't have a beer list and she had no idea what beers they had. I understand she had only been there for two weeks, but every restaurant I've ever worked in requires you to know certain things before you can be on the floor. The food itself was pretty decent. My burger and fries were pretty good, but nothing I'm going to crave. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich that said it had roasted red peppers on it. It didn't. At best the red bell peppers were very lightly grilled. When he asked the server what kind of sauce the sandwich had on it, she didn't know. I also heard another server answer "you know, I have no idea" when asked about an item on the menu. While speaking to our server, we learned that the owners are new to the restaurant business...which explains them allowing servers to be on the floor that don't know the menu, and why they allowed an off-shift bartender to sit at the bar, drinking and talking (too much) to the bartender that was working. Speaking of the bartender that was working...I watched her drop the lid to the cocktail shaker, pick it up, finish pouring alcohol into the shaker, then put the lid to the cocktail shaker on and mix the drink...without rinsing off the lid that had fallen on the floor. I think we'll give this place one more try...our server sort of saved the experience...but I'm not overly optimistic.

    Had a patty melt and seasoned noodles(penne tossed in olive oil with parm). Burger was nicely seasoned and cooked. Price point for the menu is about normal and the service was good. Will return to try a staek or different entree in the future.

    So sad I think the corner is cursed. WAY over prices for such marginal food. They have a signature soup with was the shrimp bisque which was horrid. The coconut shrimp tasted like it had been sitting in a bucket for 2 weeks. The beef tips had no flavor. The decor has not change except for the nasty paint on the walls. The waitress was way too aggressive.
