Outstanding ambiance. Fresh farm to table meal. A little expensive, but worth every single cent. (Don't tell anyone, but I'd pay more)!!! Calamari and capers is a great appetizer. Blue fish special is awesome.

Henry and Marty's is a mainstay of the "old" Brunswick. I know it's hard for all the young whipper-snappers to believe, but there was a time in the early oughts when a classy night out involved a sandwich at Big Top and a beer at Joshua's. That was it. Under that pretext, Henry and Marty's offered a breath of fresh air and originality. They still have it but - unfortunately for them and fantastic for us - Brunswick has changed. The downtown is now bustling with high quality, open 7 days, dining options with a variety of cuisine options. There are at least five different Asian-inspired restaurants alone! All of which to say: Henry and Marty's is a cute, nice place - but there are other finer restaurants in Brunswick. Ones that might deserve your attention first. One note to the way positive side: the wait staff is marvelous. Friendly and jovial, they all seemed to enjoy working there. I wish I had similar sentiments for the steak.

Very nice restaurant right in the heart of Brunswick. We had an awesome waitress who mad our dining experience very pleasant. Adequate wine list, also a full bar. I had prosecco the guys had Geary's beer. The special was a pork tenderloin with fresh apples and fennel with mashed potatoes and beets and carrots. It was very good and I especially liked the fresh chopped fruit on the pork. I also like it when the mashed potatoes are fresh and not full of garlic! These were good old fashioned potatoes. We split the pear Gorgonzola salad as an appetizer. It was more than enough for two to share. An overall nice evening in Brunswick.

Nice restaurant, good fresh food, small cozy space on the main drag on Brunswick with an interesting menu with good variety. The food was good, but hard to hold it to the standard we're accustomed to in LA and SF No complaints, can't imagine there's any place better in the area. We had a very enjoyable dinner.

Took a small group here on a Friday night, and the food was so good we took a larger group back on Saturday night. Eclectic menu, vibrant crowd, great service, friendly management--couldn't ask for anything more! You will enjoy Henry and Marty.

Based on the unassuming name and the small town location, I was expecting so much less than what we got. High quality food, featuring Maine favorites plus a delightful smattering of surprises. If the Korean dish ending in "bim bop" is on the menu, it's a must have. Solid place, very pleasant staff.

We visited Henry and Marty twice in the past month. Both times the food was ok but not superb. We had the same server both times and she was excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming -- soft lighting, a rotating selection of local artwork on the walls. It would be a good place to bring family, friends or a date. However, when the restaurant is full the noise level can make it hard to hear conversations at your table. 1st visit: -Salads were good, though the grilled romaine salad was rather skimpy in size. -Sole Francaise and Chicken Picatta were both just served on top of a pile of spaghetti. Sauce, garnish and side vegetables were also just plopped on the plate unattractively. -The side vegetables (steamed broccoli and shredded carrots) are the same for every dish. It would be preferable if all the tastes and textures on the plate went together. -Korean Tacos promised "house-made kimchee, sour cream, scallions, fresh cilantro and Ko Chu Chung sauce". All I tasted was a strong, spicy sauce -- I didn't notice any kimchee, sour cream or scallions. Quality of the ingredients was just ok. 2nd visit: -Salads were good. -Pizza was good but not worth $17. You can get about a 50% larger pizza that's as good or better for the same price at Flipside. -"Chocolate Nemesis" (chocolate torte) had an excellent rich texture, but the cacao content was not high enough to warrant the name. It was rather weak compared with the same dessert at other restaurants. -Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting was good. Overall: On both occasions our server was excellent -- very friendly and attentive. The food was ok, but disappointing given the other good reviews and especially the menu prices. Henry and Marty should either improve the quality, cohesiveness and balance of their dishes or reduce their prices by about 30%.

The ambiance was fantastic. Tea lights on the table, crisp, white table cloths, and an artistic decor added to the cozy feel of the space. I thought there was a good amount of range in the menu choices, although our appetizers were found wanting. The potato and leek soup lacked seasoning and my Caesar salad was just plain horrible. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the Korean Tacos, and my friend loved his brisket with mashed potatoes and green beans. Plus our shared dessert was amazing (the Chocolate Nemesis). And the coffee was yummy too. Overall I definitely recommend!

What a great place to dine. The food is excellent and the staff is wonderful. They are a great community member. Just last month on a Monday night they donated all the proceeds to MidCoast Hunger Prevention (local food pantry)--raised $7,000. All the tips from the staff were also donated. Let's support our local businesses..especially those who support our communities. Thanks Paul and Aaron for all you and your staff do.

I wanted to like this place a little more than I did. I was excited about the food after reading their Yelp reviews, but it was a little underwhelming for me. I dined her alone on a work trip, and somehow felt like they felt more awkward about that than I did. I was seated at a two-top in the corner and felt like they didn't quite know what to make of me. I don't adore eating alone, but it's not usually a big deal for me. I felt somewhat uncomfortable here the whole time. The decor is nice, but to be honest, I had my back to the dining room and was looking out the window. My glass of Malbec was nice and reasonably priced. The food? Meh. The seafood chowder with lobster, salmon and scallops sounded SO good. But I ended up underwhelmed. There was an impressive amount of seafood in it, but the chowder itself wasn't very flavorful and was pretty thin. Just not what I was expecting. The tenderloin tips were good but not anything special. It wasn't a dish that I disliked, but I don't think I would order it again. My waitress was very nice, and the meal was perfectly good. It was probably more my discomfort about dining there on my own that ended up giving me a less-than-great impression, but I don't think I'd make a concerted effort to return there on a future trip.

Capped off a super hot summer day visiting Bath Heritage Days by doubling back to Brunswick for dinner. First visit to this establishment, and surely won't be the last. Appreciated that the menu selection including some appropriately cool summer fare. I opted for the oven fried Maine shrimp, paired with a cold potato salad and a tart, vinegary cole slaw as a nice counterpoint to the sweet shrimp. I also appreciated that they had Rising Tide Hefeweizen, which is just the perfect beer to take the edge off on a hot summer evening. My wife loved the scallops. Chocolate layer cake for dessert was perfect too. Nice experience. We'll be back!

If you buy thir gift card of $50, you get $10 gift card, and you get to use it immediately. Good scallops, but salman was kind of dry and the Carry source did not go with Salmon. My Salmon muniel with cranchy galic I cook at home is much more moist and better...But I coincidentally sat right behind my friend, Jamie, whom I had not met since May...Small world and!! I am soo in tune with Universe!! Tardus who served our meal was super nice!! and friendly!!

We took an out of town guest here for dinner last night. Food and service were GREAT, as always. Our guest said the Swordfish special was the best he'd ever eaten. My Salmon with Pea Shoots was super fresh, and perfectly cooked. Hubby's Pork Tenderloin w/ Apples was the perfect comfort food dish -- homey, rustic, tasty. Desserts were yummy, especially the featured Dulce De Leche Gelato (made by Gelato Fiasco right across the street)! Happy to be back :)

I wanted to love Henry & Marty's because the atmosphere is great. Light yellow paint on the walls which are liberally decorated with original artwork set off by twinkling lights. Fabric drapes on the ceiling muted the noise and created a cozy haven. A very friendly host greeted us when we arrived. The place was buzzing with many full tables. I was psyched to start with a glass of Malbec and saw that there was a nice cocktail selection. The food was mediocre. The menu is appealing with a lot of variety to satisfy many different tastes. I started with the bluefish pate, which was beautifully presented, complete with homemade crackers. But the presentation couldn't disguise the bland taste and pasty texture - kind of like Will It Blend Bluefish. And I looove bluefish pate. I ordered the monk fish fettuccine, a special, and it was awful. A big hunk o' tough monkfish in a sauce dominated by sun dried tomatoes. Every entree was accompanied by the same vegetable duo of plain old steamed carrots and broccoli in a little side dish that screamed "cafeteria!" I like it when side dishes are selected to complement the entree but there appeared to be no connection between these vegies and anything else on the menu. The restaurant was out of the toffee bread pudding that piqued my interest so I had a slice of fudgey chocolate cake that was pretty decent. While the atmosphere and wine list were impressive, good food is what gets me in the door. I'd try Henry & Marty's once more, but the food needs fixin'.

Ate here on a trip to Brunswick in May. The food was superb and the service was great. My fiance and I both know food (multiple years of restaurant industry experience between us) and it's clear these folks "get it." I'm perplexed by some of the vehement negative reviews. They certainly don't seem to be describing the same restaurant we went to.

Good food, excellent service and a really creative menu. Such a great little location and full of surprises. If you are going to eat several courses and have a glass of wine, plan on shelling out a little dough, certainly worth the price. You can't beat downtown Brunswick's atmosphere either!!

I recently took my girlfriend to Henry & Marty's and am already looking forward to a return visit. The atmosphere is perfect for a nice dinner with that special lady. The staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable and the food was amazing. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the four cheese manicotti melts in your mouth. There are several very good restaurants locally but few worthy of a special date night. This place is great for that.

It's been a Brunswick stalwart for many years and it deserves to be. Henry and Marty is consistently good - fine service, good atmosphere and well-prepared food. If you want a very good meal with professional service in Brunswick, this is were you go. No question.

We ate at Henry and Marty this past Sunday evening, after finding that our restaurant of choice was closed. We were surpised to see how crowded they were at 8:30 on a Sunday. We had no reservations...for a party of four...yet they were able to seat us quickly and efficiently. The menu was eclectically wonderful, with many choices for everyone in our party...1 vegan, 1 vegetarian, and 2 omnivores. Wine list was broad and very reasonably priced. Service was delightful. Appetizers were fabulous...especially the night's specials: local mushrooms sauteed in butter and a crabmeat and fresh corn pancake. Entrees were excellent. It was only one visit, but I'd go back in a heartbeat!

One of my favorite restaurants in Brunswick. My normal order is the chicken picatta but everything I've tried has been incredibly fresh and delicious. The plain salad (I think it's called the field greens salad?) is simple and refreshing. Wonderful atmosphere and consistently friendly and nice staff. Oh- and the deserts are incredible.

Outstanding! Yum-a-licious - every single morsel. Had the crab cake special the night I was there and am still dreaming about it. Lovely environment, attentive staff, small intimate white table with candles environment. Call for a reservation! Cheesecake with blueberries was amazing.

We were in Brunswick last Sunday evening and decided to visit Henry and Marty's for dinner. The place was crowded and had to wait at the door for about fifteen minutes before Paul could get to us, to tell us to visit the bar before our table would be ready. We decided to share our dinner and ordered the following Korean Pork Mondu, a Stuffed Squid appetizer and Korean Tacos. The appetizers arrived which were the Korean Pork Mondu and the Stuffed Squid. We decided to start our meal with the Stuffed Squid which was very tough so tough I had to cut it with my Buck pocket Knife to split in half. The Squid was so tough and the filling was non descript. The Korean Pork Mondu was dumplings with a dipping sauce were greasy and flavorless. As for the Korean Tacos were the biggest disappointment since the menu described them as two grilled corn tortillas with slowed braised pulled beef short ribs,housemade kimchee, sour cream, scallions, fresh cilantro and Ko Chu Chung sauce. When they arrived at our table they tasted bland with no taste of kimchee or sour cream. We tried the beef alone, it was a dried pot roast. When I was asked by the waiter about our meal I described to her our whole experience, for the care of other diners, but I think fell short of explaining our concerns to the Chef. Overall I would not write them off ,as to give them a chance to redeem themselves.

Let me state from the outset that I haven't been to Henry and Marty's for a while (why that is so hopefully this review will make clear) - the first time was February of 2009 and the last time was summer of 2010. We had heard great things about this place, but both times we've been really underwhelmed by the food. The decor is really welcoming, the drinks are good (they have a full bar and nice wine/bar list), and the service is impeccable. But the food!!?? The first time we came I ordered a salad and a lobster ravioli for my entree. The salad was overwhelmed by beets so there was no balance in the dish. The ravioli itself was OK, but it was served lukewarm and the sauce was thin and honestly had a slight taste of soap (you read that correctly - SOAP). The last time (because everyone deserves a second chance) was last summer, and we came in just for drinks and apps. The drinks were very good, but the crab cakes I ordered were served with a sauce that was so salty it was simply inedible. I've heard since then that there was a change in ownership several years ago - this could explain things. IMHO there are better eateries in Brunswick (for example, Clementine's right across the street).

If you have need for a nice dinner in Brunswick and you can't make it all the way out to Robinhood in Georgetown or one of the fine eateries further south in Portland, Henry & Marty's is your place! Beware: their hours are sporadic and they close seasonally to tour (one of the couple is a musician), so you have to do a little research. However, it's worth the minor logistical struggle. Having left Maine a carnivore and returned a herbivore, H&M was one of the few places to find an actual vegetarian MEAL (as opposed to a few sides cobbled together at one of the local seafood joints). They also serve organic meat dishes, too, so don't fret. There are a few Indian restaurants in town now, so there are other veg choices, but H&M provides a slightly upscale, but homey atmosphere to dig in.

Varied and interesting menu, full bar. Many local organic meats and vegetables and obvious genuine concern for the environment. Service was excellent. In addition to delicious food, nearly all items on the menu are GLUTEN FREE or can be made gluten free! We will go there again. Open 7 days from 5 PM to 9 PM.
