I love pho and Vietnamese food in general so when I heard we were getting a pho restaurant minutes from my work I was overjoyed!!! So far I have been twice and I must say...,each time was disappointing to say the least... My husband and I went with another couple on opening night....overall we ended up sitting for two hours....service was sooo incredibly slow...the server later stated hes lost our order :(. So we re ordered but they had run out of the dish my husband wanted. We ended up taking the first dishes that came to our table...very very delicious...but very chaotic. A week ago a friend and I went for a nice lunchtime pho. I figured that opening night was chaotic...and the food was good so why not try again. Sadly our experience was awful....our server lost our order....never checked on us until I flagged him down and asked when our food might be coming out....he then stated (very apologetically) that the order was never put in. We ended up getting th order to go...which was a mistake. The food was not good...maybe because it was so quickly thrown together? I left a message for a manager but sadly never heard back. The people working here are super nice And th food seems decent...I just am super disappointed in the service :(. I hope it can work out for this restaurant. I'll give em one more go within the next few weeks to see if anything improves.

I started feeling a bit under the weather and really needed a good dose of some vietnamese soup. This was the only place I found in the area on Yelp, so options were scarce and decided to try it out. My two star rating is based on the following: Egg roll i tried was $3.99 for two small pieces....wayyyyy too overpriced for the portion and quality was mediocre. Bonbohue soup was okay but there was barely any meat in there and noodle was over cooked so it tasted like jello, when you bite into it. It was $10.99 for the soup. Again, wayyy to over priced. I guess they can set whatever prices they want since it is pretty much a monopoly around this area for vietnamese food. I do not plan to go back anytime soon, but if desperate enough I would order less expensive items so that I do not set my expectations too high.

Both me and my wife love this place. The food is great, the service needs a little help but over all we enjoy eating here.

It's too crazy. I don't want ice in my Thai tea. The waiter just gave me a half cup of tea!

Started off with raw beef platter as an appetizer. It was simply served with thinly sliced onions and cilantro.... delicious! For the entree, I had the mi xao don bo (stir fried beef with egg noodles)... once again, delicious! Portion was large and the price reasonable. The young lady that waited on me was friendly. I liked have a bottle on Sriracha sauce on the table. Definitely someplace different to go in St. Mary's County.

Extent food! Sodas come from a can (no fountain) but the food is good enough to make up for that!

If you know Pho it's pretty awesome, if you don't your missing out St. Mary's County get over here and try something new!! Don't be scared because of the location with all the failed businesses that once resided here, rent is probably really cheap. Come give them a try and expand your pallet SOMD.

We had been wanting to try Pho Saigon for quite sometime now but thought we would let them work out any kinks first. I have to say we were very impressed. The Pho was delicious. The broth was intoxicating, I couldnt stop eating it! We got the Pho Saigon, Chicken Pho w/ egg noodles, as well as the fried spring rolls & fresh spring rolls. Normally I love fresh spring rolls however I didnt really care for the ones here. They had an off taste about them. The cripy rolls however were divine! We ended up ordering another plate they were that good. Portion sizes for the Pho were HUGE. We ended up having lots of leftovers to take home. Service wasnt impressive at all. It could be that we were sat in the back off to the side so we were forgotten. It was a little deceiving pulling up and seeing the glow of a bud light sign but when we asked what beers were available we were told they do not currently have a liquor license. Not a deal breaker but just a heads up for anyone planning on going and enjoying a drink after work like we were...that wont be the case until they can obtain the license.

Finally, a pho place close to me! :) Compared to the other pho places I have been to, this isn't exactly the best but definetely not the worst (like the one by the buffet in Waldforf). Their pho is pretty good, but I got the large pho bowl and it had a lot of meat in it (fat brisket and rare meat), which isn't what I like in my preference. But for a Vietnamese restaurant not an hour away, it's good. I'd recommend it for those who haven't tried pho and live close to the location of the restaurant. (I also like their stuffed grape leaves too)

Sad.. food is good. Service is terrible. I wish they find servers who can speak english well. I've noticed some of the yelpers on here posted watermelon smoothies. I thought I give that a try. I drove 15-20 minutes down to Leonardtown to find our that... this doesn't exist. I showed them the pictures through yelp and they laughed and said it's not something they carry. Ok.. must have been a limited time offer or something but they did not tell me that. Then I asked them what kind of fruit smoothie they had. He said they only had strawberry and mango. I asked if they were fresh fruits or just powdered. My server said... "I think it's powdered" I asked if he can go find out because I like to feed my son fresh smoothie. He didn't bother finding out.. he kept on just saying I think it's powdered and then told me I wouldn't want to feed my son that because he may get sick from it. What?! Fine... I asked for spring roll and pho which tasted good. Then I see something on the menu that says eggs. No other description next to it. I asked my server how the eggs are cooked because I want to feed my son the eggs. He said "I am not sure how to describe it.." I asked.. is it scrambled? No. Is it steamed? He said yes. He basically gave me a bowl of raw egg. I can't believe that wasn't easy to describe?! Below is a picture of the egg I received.

We were looking for a place for dinner and decided to try this place out. We left with a full stomach which is always good. Food was very good, I had a wide noodle dish which was very similar to a Thai dinner, drunken noodle. Service was okay not super good but good enough. Just wished they had more of a drink selection and fountain refills

Finally, a non-chain ethnic restaurant in the area! We were in town for the holidays from Atlanta where we have plentiful Asian food, especially Vietnamese and this place has really great pho. Broth was very tasty. We got a large order for takeout, so did not get the in restaurant experience. We just reheated the broth at home and added all the noodles and beef when we were ready to eat so it was hot. And of course we added Sriracha to make it spicy and added the mint leaves they also give you, torn up into the bowls. The spring rolls were also some of the best we have had with plenty of ground pork in them. The vermicelli bowls were also pretty good, but the pho was the star. The stir fry noodle dishes with rice noodles were probably the least tasty. Flavor was bland on those. Would definitely go back again next time we are in town. We have been to Vietnam before and this food is legit.

Pho is delicious. I recommend P.6 with the steak brought out raw with the soup on the side so that it is not overcooked. Staff needs to work on customer service and communicating with each other. Overall, everyone was very friendly and the food made up for the waiting to be seated as well as on someone to take our order. I am excited that this restaurant has opened near me and will visit often.

I like this place. The food is really tasty and fresh. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the service. Food usually comes out really slow and the staff didn't seem especially well trained although they do have a good attitude. I think that if you give them a few months it will be awesome.

The restaurant has only been open for about two weeks and they're still OBVIOUSLY working out the kinks. Walked in on Friday, 11.14.14 for dinner and the restaurant was packed. We were seated at the only open table in the place and were given menus. About 10 minutes later someone brought us glasses of water and asked if we were ready to place our order. We ordered spring rolls and two bowls of pho. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Spring rolls were ok, nothing impressive but our pho was decent. Kinks: Saw folks waiting at the door for a while before they were greeted. Seems as if the servers are not given sections, it's a free for all. Long wait for the check and we ended up going up to the counter to pay since the man who brought us our check disappeared. Disorganization across the board. We'll go again since it's the only local pho place. Hopefully they've worked out the kinks by the time we get back.

I won't be back; my third time here and now the last. Stopped in for dinner and service is very slow. Took 15 to 20 mins to get a server to our table. The three of us ordered Pho. Food came out fairly quickly. Someone besides our server dropped it off and disappeared. Nobody brought out the fresh basil, bean sprout, jalapeño, and lime. When I finally got the attention of someone and asked for it, he said that they don't have any. Could not understand why he said, something to the affect that the truck does not deliver anymore. Meal was awful without it. They should not let people order and then say half the ingredients are missing. Server never came to refill my drink. I can't envision this place lasting long.

Was super excited for a Vietnamese restaurant, but was sad to see Sakura go. Pho ga wasn't bad. The pho was just okay for me. Will come back to try their vermicelli.

The 411: this is the only place to get a bowl of pho for more than 20 miles, so if you're in the area and need pho, this is the place to go. I got a large P1 (rare thin slices of top round, fatty brisket, fatty tendon and tripe) Pho places are judged by their broth. This place has an okay broth. It was a little cloudy and a little on the bland side. I asked for some nuoc mam (fish sauce) to add a little umami to it, but they didn't give me any. I also had the summer rolls, and they were actually pretty good. Better than I expected. All of that came to about $20. A little pricey if you ask me. Bottom line: this is an okay place for a bowl of pho if you are absolutely dying for a taste of Vietnamese food. I'd opt for a better place in dc or the falls church area if you have the ability to go farther away.

Authentic Vietnamese food! Closer to home :) I don't need to drive up to Nova Eden Center for a good bowl of soup. This place is great..would be better if they sale bahmi (?) Vietnamese sandwiches :3

Food is great, price is great. We're a family of 4 (4 yo and 1yo) and we can usually fill our bellies for around $20. Most times my wife and I split the P11 and order my 4yo some white rice and mix in some broth. We frequent this restaurant...at least once a week. And never have I felt the service took a long time. Even take out is quick and easy. We love it. Would recommend.

This place just opened, and my husband and I decided to try it out over the weekend....WOW the Pho was amazing!!! They still don't have their liquor license since they're fairly new, but they have a nice setup inside for a bar and dining area...the service was pretty good for a brand new place...the portions are HUGE and everything is hmemade and delicious!! We will definitely be going back!!

Who go to vietnamese restaurant for the service? maybe one of the best Vietnamese restaurant in southern Maryland. They charge 20% of automatic gratitude for more than 4-5 people. So if you have more than three kids (+ spouse), double check your receipt. Yes they do count kids as well even if they are less than four years old.

Pho Saigon has been open ten days now. They have been working out problems with expediting orders and getting meals out to guests. The restaurant was packed. My chicken pho soup was typical Americanized fare. Genuine south Vietnamese fare would have been spicier with many more vegetables. The spices that came with my soup included Thai mint and Vietnamese basil but it also came with good 'ol American jalapeño and pickled Thai peppers. What really makes pho is a flavorful broth and this broth tasted like its been watered down for American taste which would be a mistake. We can make watered down noodle soup for .20 and a package of Ramen noodles at home. I also had summer rolls with peanut sauce. They were excellent, exactly what I look for in Vietnamese cuisine. However, these rolls were SMALL. I would expect rolls twice the size, more vegetables and less meat. I think this place will get better with age if they don't lose their customers first. They must get in touch with their roots!

The pho is delicious. Definitely the best broth in southern maryland. Perfect for cold weather. The Chao Tom, shrimp wrap with sugar cane, was savory and sweet. The sugar cane itself is a sweet treat and meant to be chewed on after eating the shrimp wrap. Honestly, if you don't chew on the stick, you are missing out. The last thing I tried was a bit more adventurous. I had never heard of it and there was no description on the menu. The three colour drink. It comes in a pre packaged cup containing shaved ice, coconut milk, plantains, green jelly strips, and red beans. Red beans. Never would have thought to put red beans in a sweet drink. But it works. Just shake up the cup and dive in. The textures are part of the experience. Truthfully, they were very busy. And service was chaotic which is normal for the opening weekend. But the food made up for all that. They will find their footing and be one of the best restaurants in the area.

Great beef pho and grilled pork summer rolls! The service was a little rough-they were short staffed and very busy. But the food was great and we are super excited that there's finally a Vietnamese/ pho restaurant in the area!

I only had the Pho (P2) and the Thai Tea. The Thai Tea was different from any I have ever had- almost tasted like it had a hint of chocolate to it.. it was kind of strange. The Pho was very good. I am picky with my Pho :) The music was awful. It was older hip hop/ RB so every single song was about "I wanna smack that- all over the floor" or " I wanna make love" - totally NOT what I want to hear while I am trying to enjoy lunch.

I did not enjoy the experience at all, I remember previous restaurants that have been in that location having a pretty nice decent atmosphere. This place was dirty and not put together. The service stunk almost as bad as the restaurant did. The food was also not impressive and the servers could hardly speak English enough to take your order.

Moved from California and was very happy to find a restaurant that served such delicious Pho -- just as good as one can find at authentic places in San Diego :D

I was really looking forward to trying this place and that just made my experience all the more disappointing. A friend and I went for lunch on a week day. We ordered some drinks, an app, a Pho, and a Bun. The app made it to the table but after 40 minutes nothing else- nobody stopped by to check if we needed anything or beverage refills. We noticed tables that were seated after us had received their entrees. After speaking to our server, I don't know if our food went to another table or our order never made it to the kitchen but close to an hour had passed and we needed to return to work so we took the Pho and Bun to go. I know Pho is a "some assemble required" dish and doesn't readily lend itself to the to go menu but I was still surprised to find a zip lock baggy of raw beef on top of warm cooked noodles in a box with cooked meat and veg. I have a pretty high ick threshold but this didn't seem good. At this point you could say, at best, I'm was bummed about lunch, at worst, annoyed. So I call to let them know I'm not keen on the take away, when I asked to speak with a manager I'm told they're not there call back later and may be they will be there...I called twice more and got a recording. So for lack of service with a smile try Pho Saigon if you have a lot of time to kill.

I'm really disappointed in this place. The service is horrible and I'm fairly easy to please. The food is not so great and I love pho. The one thing I did like was no longer available. On a positive note the three colors drink is good but I think it's pre-made.

In all, an average meal. We took our 2 kids and each ordered different stuff to sample things. The order of everyone's favorite was the Chicken soup (P10), then Grilled beef and steamed egg patty (C8), Shrimp & bbq pork (H3), and finally special pho (p8). Be advised that their meatballs are not like what you might expect. Not bad...but very different texture. The egg patty was a little odd. No one liked it. It took them 10 minutes to get the food out and it was crowded; pretty fast really. Tea was free and the staff was nice but I think we misunderstood a few things in the translation of menu and waiter

Vietnamese restaurants live and die by their Pho, and good Pho needs great broth. The broth in the eponymous Pho Saigon was mediocre, at best, tonight. There was some odd flavor in it, but it's hard to put my finger on what it was. The beef and other ingredients were fine, though. Otherwise, the spring rolls were good, but the service was pretty bad. Waiters kept brining food to the wrong tables, and our glasses remained empty most of the night.

I went here last night with my fiance and my parents. I am usually not a fan of going to some place right when they open, because the service is naturally not very good yet, as others have been pointing out. With that in mind, the wait was excessive for the staff to take orders, bring out the food, and get someone's attention for our check. Anyway...we started with the stuffed grape leaves as an appetizer, which came out very quickly. For those that are fans of Greek dolmades/dolmadakia, this dish only has a passing resemblance...the taste was very similar to that of lumpia (so very delicious). I had pho earlier this week while out of town, so I wanted to go with a banh mi, but they were out of baguettes. I ended up with a crispy roast chicken dish that came with fried rice and a side salad. The chicken was a quartered chicken with a nice crispy skin, well seasoned, and very juicy on the inside much to my enjoyment. The fried rice was also delicious. My father got a crepe filled with shrimp, onions, and pork, which he attests to as also being very good. His dish came out very quickly while the rest of our dishes took about 45 minutes. Overall I'd say it is very good. I'd wait until they get into their groove, unless you have some time to kill. I noticed everyone who came in after us got their food before us because they ordered pho, so that comes out fairly quickly. Despite the wait, it was all very very good. Better than anything else available in Leonardtown.

Food is decent but it shows open 'til 9:30PM today (Sunday) and it's CLOSED. Kind of a bummer to drive all this way. Either Yelp is not dependable or this restaurant needs to provide better updates and care a little more for its customers.

Service wasn't great. We didn't know who our waiter was. Best pho in Southern Maryland. Why? Cause it's the only pho. I've had better pho at prettying every other pho place I've been too. But hopefully this place gets better and stays longer than the previous restaurants

Newly opened. I would give them 3.5. Service was good. Fresh squeezed lemonade awesome. I had the shrimp bowl pictured (on menu) and it was great. Big portions, enough leftovers for lunch the next day and the flavor was outstanding. Also enjoyed the meat wrapped in grape leaves appetizer. The ONLY reason I'm giving a three is because there was only 3 shrimp in the big bowl. I would recommend and will return.

Went for the first time last weekend and had heard about poor service. However, a Vietnamese restaurant was needed in Saint Mary's County and we wanted to support it. They obviously have gotten the word! The service was excellent. One of our waiters just started the day that we came in and was an experienced waiter from a large Vietnamese restaurant in Philadelphia. The Pho Nam was served in very large portions and as good as any in the greater Washington area, which I have been enjoying since Pho 75 started the pho craze in Arlington, VA.

For the fact this is the only restaurant that serves pho in SOMD without having to drive 40 minutes gives this place a 5 star but the service definitely lacks a bit. When there its definitely a "closed mouth doesn't get fed" rule so speak up. But other than that the food was good.

Finally, pho in SoMD! And it's good, too!! Went in early, before 11 on a Saturday, because some days you need that kind of a brunch, and it was terrific. Pho is very flavorful broth, and the meat they use is top notch and stands up with its own flavor, not the bland overcooked stuff you find in a lot of places. The rare beef actually is! Service was good, veggie plate with basil, sprouts, pepper and limes was plentiful, but again, the broth is the key and theirs is really good. I will try the bahn mi next time, heard good things about theirs. Staff was friendly, helpful, attentive, and excited to be here. Turn the doorbell down, though. Last best thing - the prices are right, not overpriced at all, big bowl of pho for less than $9. Support this good restaurant, we need this food here!
