This Starbucks is pretty big. It has a small seating area in the front than a huge seating area in the back. I was shocked I haven't seen one this big in downtown DC. The service was good and it wasn't crowded. Most important my coffee was amazing !

The baristas here are always very friendly and I have never recieved an incorrect order. all of the food and drinks I have ever had here have been delicious. Starbucks can be pricey, but the app makes it much more reasonable.

I love how this Starbucks keeps the old historic Frederick Charm. The floor looks like it's the original wood. The doors definitely seem to be original. It really does fit in almost seamlessly to the bustling shops on North Market Street. If you are looking for tables, go to the back right of the store. All of the tables are located in the way back of this narrow store.

Two and a half stars. Cute interior in line with the feel of Frederick. The only drag is minimal seating, and inconsistent customer service. Pickup is all the way in the back, and my grande chai latte was a little thin compared to the standard I get at the Starbucks near my work. I'm pretty sure they only beat out the mom & pop coffee shops in town because of their strategic weekend hours.

This place was busy! But the staff did great, there were 2 people working and the guy in the front was new but he did a great job! The lady in the back was making drinks and helping and I was really impressed with the teamwork. We got 2 fraps and I really appreciate how they made me a drink out of season even though they were so busy. They also found time to make small conversation with most customers which is awesome because most people don't care. I will definitely be back :)

Beautiful venue, iffy customer service. Place was not that busy on a Saturday night, only two employees there. The one that took my order was borderline rude and (consistently with every new customer) developed the habit of taking orders while preparing the one before it making it very frustrating to communicate since she was all the way over there and I had to repeatedly yell what I wanted over the blenders and loud machines. Straws and little pieces of paper products strewn over floor and employees consistently making their own loud conversation. Not a customer-oriented branch from my experience and not at all the warm and welcoming atmosphere that you would expect.

This Starbucks has a nice back area, and the front section looks onto Market Street which is always good for people watching. The drinks are the typical ones you get at Starbucks, no better or worse. The real reason to come here is because the baristas are awesome!

I've visited all of the SB locations in town and this one has the closest thing to feeling like a mom and pop coffee shop of all of them. I think it's because of the location as most people have mentioned in the reviews so far. Parking outside is limited to whatever you can find on the street which is metered Mon-Sat, there is however a parking deck directly behind the location that charges $1.00 for the first hour, and the first 15 minutes are free, so that always an option. Personally if you've not experienced downtown Frederick previously do yourself a favor and park in the deck and spend some time walking around on Saturday afternoon. A few people have also mentioned their aversion to big corporate business in downtown Frederick, but I'd like to direct them to this article as a counterpoint to their arguments that it hurt business. blogs.reuters.com/small-… All of that aside it's still SB so you know what you're getting into once you enter. A triple venti 7 pump 140 degree hazelnut latte should taste the same way across the entire country. And no that's not my order.

I have to say, this store is amazing. It is so unique looking and quite impress with the customer service. I am so glad I stopped here randomly!

I never saw a starbucks like the one in historic Frederick. First they had a back yard outdoor cafe and the back part of the cafe was really unique. I felt like sitting down and having ten shots of expresso.

Too cramped. Not enough seating, Felt shorted on a vente drink, more whipped cream than actual drink. It's funny how I absolutely love the brand, but IMHO, there seems to be a major disconnect from store to store, and no consistency. Sorry, downtown Starbucks, I'll have to pass on ya.

I agree that they did a fantastic job with the architecture. The outside which is now inside really captures the history. I love downtown and think Starbucks is a great addition. I've heard from several merchants that having SB downtown has actually brought in a whole new clientelle that have not shopped downtown before, so there goes the whole 'evil corporate chain store' argument. Whatever helps local mom & pop stores is great with me, and its sometimes in ways that don't make the purists happy.

I like what they did with this historic space. It does not look like a typical Starbucks, it looks like a coffee house that belongs in downtown Frederick. There is plenty of seating (inside and out) and service is very quick. Sometimes the service is a bit unfriendly and too rushed, however, which makes places like Nola much more appealing, if you are looking for that casual small town service. This Starbucks is is good for a quick cup of coffee or a quiet meeting with a friend.

So it's Starbucks. Nothing more, nothing less. This one is no better, or no worse than the rest of them. I happen to like Starbucks ... so this place is just fine with me. My coffee today was well within the median Starbucks experience. My son loved his mocha frappucino as well. Now some of the anti-establishment, big-corporate-coffee-is-evil types will disagree with me, of course. Though it's rather ironic that they'll then show their contempt by heading down the street to Nola to enjoy a cup of oh-so-local Illy espresso :-) Anyways, coffee politics aside - have you gone inside this place? The back room is so cool, the way they took what must have been an alley and blocked it in, so that the 2nd floor porch of the neighboring building hangs over the dining area, inside. Very cool. I'm giving 4 stars for architecture ...

Ok, it's a chain - get over it Frederick. IF there has to be a chain restaurant in the historic district, we could do far worse (re: new subway). I like the coffee alot, that's all i get is just the coffee. The atmosphere is typical, but i like how the back-room melds with the architecture. Not much else to say, but - hey, i'm guilty - i like starbucks.

I love Starbucks. The staff is always pleasant. The coffee is always good. Starbucks is a welcome addition to Market Street. To all you Starbucks haters: Consider this--without Starbucks, your Cafe Nolas, etc. wouldn't be able to charge big bucks for coffee drinks. Maybe the owner of Acacia, Brewers Alley and Isabellas should be forced to give up two of his establishments. Should we have a rule that a company can have only one store?

Having this place where it is makes me wish Tyler Durden and his crew would show up for a weekend. I guess they have a right to be there, but a little piece of downtown's soul died the day they opened. On top of that, it opens the door for other corporate chains who think they fit well in unique neighborhoods to swoop in. Oh ya, the coffee sucks too.

This is an update from my previous review. I've recently made a few more trips into this SB location and the staffing issue seems to have been sorted out. Employees have been very friendly, the line has been moving MUCH faster. Definitely an improvement! Just wanted to adjust my previous rating to reflect this. Great work Market St. SB!

I have been ordering latte and every year, i reach my gold member. However, I was taken when I saw an extra charge called BREV +0.60 cents in my total bill. I questioned it and the barista told me that my request of half n' half is extra charge even though, I was not asking for extra diary. I just want a substitute; its not like I asked for more diary or soymilk or coconut milk. So all this time, my request of half n half in a latte which can be avail at the customer's counter is charge to me unknowingly (my fault for trusting Starbucks that they don't take advantage of my wallet). So lesson learned at this junction. Next, I will ask for a latte without half n' half and I will pour it myself.
