First, I have been going to this restaurant ever since I was a kid. This place is wonderful. Their staff is very friendly, and the service is quick wether you dine in or order carry out, even delivery is spot on with the time frame they give you. The food is the best around and it is well priced. Their pork fried rice is really good! If you want the best Chinese in Damascus, great prices and service, come here!

I still think this is the best Chinese food in the area (and the delivery guy is always so nice) but I have to take a star away for their lateness. We ordered at 6:30pm and were quoted 45 minutes. Called at 7:30 and were told the driver was out and we were the 4th stop. 8:00pm and we are starved, husband is grumpy, baby's bedtime is approaching and still nothing. I call back and am told that it will be another 15-20 minutes because the food is cooked right when the driver is ready? Not even sure what that meant. We weren't offered any kind of discount or anything. Husband said to cancel but it was too late to come up with another dinner idea. Food (with the friendly delivery guy) shows up at 8:30. The guy said the restaurant made him wait until there were enough orders to make his trip worth it. Annoying. Food was delicious of course so they are lucky I'm only taking off 1 star and will still order from there.

We come here regularly, order the diner special, and they are flexible in changing the soup for another spring roll (we are not soup people). The food always comes out fast, and the service is always good. They are very friendly there. We always get general tso. It's very good! Definitely recommend

Went here last night for carry out and it was great! 8 min from clarksburg village. And pretty good food. The BBQ spare ribs were great! Quick service and friendly staff! I have tried other places near my home and this is by far one of the best.

The best Chinese food around! From Mt. Airy to germantown, this place has the best Chinese! Only problem is when you ask them for their prepared hot mustard. They pretend they don't know what your talking about and hand you the packets of spicy mustard but they have the good stuff in a fridge behind the counter. Other than that, this place is flawless! They also have the best crab meat and cheese wontons I've ever had!

Great food for great price! One of the best Chinese restaurants I've eaten at. Food is good every time I've been and prices remain low. Nice size portions too!

First time there today, and it was Friday for lunch. I was shocked to see that General Tso's Chicken wasn't available as a lunch special, as that's my 'standard' for trying out at Chinese restaurants. So, I got the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special, which came with a spring roll and fried rice. Upsides: Not busy at all, staff was super friendly, food seemed to come out pretty fast, somewhere around 5 minutes. Kung Pao Chicken was pretty tasty with a lot of chicken and a lot of peanuts. Seemed maybe a little over-salty, but not bad. Two big scoops of fried rice, and enough chicken, this was a waist buster for $5.88 after tax. Downsides: Spring roll must have been prepared on the surface of the sun, because even after 5+ minutes driving away, it was a fate worse than a Hot Pocket. However, it didn't have much inside of it besides cabbage, no meat/veggies. Fried rice was bland and not like the fried rice I'm used to at other places. Barely any traces of fried egg in it, and no other veggies or meat within it. Not much flavor in it, but worked well when mixed with entree. All that said, I'd try them again.

I tried this restaurant when I first moved to town eight years ago, and was appalled by odd taste in everything. I coudn't put my finger on it, and maybe it was all the oil, like the other reviewer said, but it actually made me toss my cookies. The prices were also ridiculously high. I discovered Damascus Buffet (now Sky Kitchen) and never looked back. When a new service tried to start up in town (and has since shut down) where you'd call them up and order food of any type available in town, they would pick it up from the restaurant and deliver it to you. My family ordered Chinese food and were thoroughly disappointed with the results. They had gotten it from Little Far East II rather than Damascus Buffett. When I called the company to complain about the food, the manager said that I was the fourth person to complain that night and that he was seriously regretting getting a contract with LFE2 rather than Damascus Buffett. Suffice to say, we didn't use them again. As I said, the company has now gone out of business. If you want to experiment, try this restaurant. There's no telling what you'll get. But if you want good, solid Chinese food at very reasonable prices, go to Sky Kitchen.

Just picked up my order from this place. I have not even tried the food yet and I can tell you I have very low expectations of the taste. The lady was extremely rude. The guy in front of me was making a buffet out of their condiments and cookies. Get angry at him ok but not me. FIRST LART OF REVIEW WAS IN PARKING LOT. Food was ok. Nothing special.

I must say I am very impressed with this restaurant. When I called to place a delivery order the lady on the phone was very nice and took my order without any issues. I asked her if she accepted credit card and was very pleased to find out that the restaurant accepts ALL credit cards!!! Yes, all!! It gets rather frustrating at times when I want to use a particular type of card (financial discipline :-D) but find out that it is not accepted. So I was told that my order would take 45 minutes to deliver. I have no problem with that considering the poor weather we were having but was very pleasantly amazed that they actually delivered much sooner than that!!! And I would have to say that the food was really goood (orange chicken, beef with broccoli, hot & sour soup, ma po tofu, and singapore noodle), flavorful and fresh, and the price was right! Very affordable! Would definitley order from them again.

Pleasantly surprised! We've been driving by this place for 16 years on our way to Jimmie Cone and tonight decided to give it a try based on other Yelp reviews. So glad we did! Excellent service, great dinner specials, and tasty food! We will definitely be back! Most of the reviewers talked about carry out, but we are in. They have a few tables, the decor is a bit run down, but the service was fast, friendly and attentive and all four of us enjoyed our food! The dinner special includes a soup, spring roll and rice.

Only have had two things from this place- General Tsos chicken was GREAT. Crispy, used good pieces of the chicken. Prob some of the best I've ever had actually. Also have had the sesame chicken and it was average. I'm sure I would like other options on the menu, but could eat that Gen Tsos chicken ALL DAY EVERYDAY haha. Spring rolls were good as well. I think my girlfriend enjoyed her egg drop soup.

It's my second delivery; wonderful food for after a long day at work! It's an hour before they close and you can still see that they take pride in creating their food AND everything is fresh and hot!

Little Far East is the only spot in the area that can truly satiate my tastebuds when I'm craving Chinese food. Their orange chicken, crispy beef, sweet and sour chicken, Mongolian lamb, cashew chicken (I could easily continue) are always on point. I do not take the 5 star rating lightly, so let me explain. Growing up in Damascus, little Far East has always had a place in my heart, from going there with the family, to skipping school to go hang out with friends and have mid-afternoon philosophical discussions. The staff is always friendly, yet businesslike and never too overbearing, and the turnover is consistent enough to the point that I know I am always getting something fresh. I am ecstatic that there is at least one restaurant in Damascus that hasn't slacked on their standards of quality yet!

Everything is good here, you can't go wrong. Very good Chinese food! The owners are super nice, the guy who works there with the glasses behind the counter is super nice and always pleasant! I recommend it to anyone and everyone

When I lived there, it was the only Chinese takeout. Placed nicely in a shopping center in Damascus close to a grocery store, bank, and at one point Blockbuster. It's not a bad Chinese place. But it's pretty typical. Some foods to greasy or plain, but try shrimp in lobster sauce, fried noodles with seafood combination, it's good Chinese when you don't feel like cooking.

"A-OK" is about right for this place. Been there since the Weiss shopping center opened, had about a dozen different owners, occasionally employs a high schooler to deliver. Pros: some very unusual and strong dishes, especially their takes on Double Cooked Pork (great sauce, really exceptional) and Spicy Fried Eggplant (also has an interesting and tasty sauce). Have some unusual and interesting appetizer options including Spicy Wonton (a giant wonton marinated in soy sauce and chili oil and perhaps some other things) and tender Steamed Dumplings. Soups are a weak point, but edible. Cons: This may be a personal thing, but they cook everything in a really outrageous amount of oil. I mean, every bite is shining with oil and dripping with it. My family got stomach aches from the amount of oil in each dish. Eventually we would strain every carry-out dish we ordered when we got home, and it was STILL too oily. We even asked them to cut down on the oil, and they would either A) ignore us, but claim they had or B) steam everything and serve it without sauce or anything. Just steamed meat and vegetables. Insert ironic "yum" here. So it's a real mixed bag. With the recent improvement at the Sky Kitchen, the Little Far East II has some serious competition. I simply stopped ordering there because I was so bothered by the amount of oil in each dish. Dining in is moderately better, but still too much for me. I switched allegiances. That said, it's still very popular and most families in Damascus seem to favor it. Try it and see what you think; but if you tried the Sky Kitchen instead, I'd understand.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
