We randomly found an advertisement for the Seaglass in North Shore Magazine and decided to check it out. My mom & I had been searching for a place to give my dad a nice retirement dinner, so we went over to the Seaglass to try out the lunch menu and service. First of all, the view when you walk in is stunning. There's no other word - you are literally ON the beach. Their website does not do this justice! There is a cute giftshop as well as a music hall attached, where you can have weddings as well. Also, if you're just going to eat, there's a huge parking lot they don't make you pay for. Any seat in this place has a view and the lunch was great. It's a tad expensive, but we weren't upset about it since the food, service and view were great. We decided to have my father's retirement dinner there a few weeks later, and everything was just terrific. They set all 30 of us on the side of the restaurant, where we were able to stay private from most of the restaurant and the manager (I cannot remember her name, but she deals with functions) actually made us a special menu for the event, complete with my dad's name on it and a "Teen" menu. We have teens that are too big for "kids" choices, but too picky for the regular menu. The ONLY thing that was weird and out of character, was our starter salads did not come with dressing. I know they come with dressing because I got this same salad when I previously came for lunch. The bad part was the waitress I told kind of did not believe me and was a little rude about it. I said all 25 salads do not have dressing, and we all showed her, so then she went to get 25 sides of dressing. We had 2 waitresses for our party, and the younger woman was great, while the older woman (the salad dressing one) was not so pleasant. We didn't let this silly thing ruin our party though. The food here is awesome. I've had the lobster mac & cheese (huge pieces of lobster), soups, salads, other seafood, and I've seen many other things come out of the kitchen that just look so good. I'm traveling for work now, but I'm actually looking forward to hitting this place up in the fall/winter because they have a cozy fireplace and seasonal menu changes.

My mom and sister took me here for my birthday dinner last weekend, and I ordered the seafood cioppino. I felt very strange as we were about to leave our table. My sister said that I looked very pale. Once I got into the car, I knew something was wrong with my stomach. I was very queasy and then when we got home I threw up in the driveway. I felt immediately better after vomiting. Something was definitely wrong with my food. In my cioppino I had mussels, clams, a lobster claw, and some salmon. This was served over pasta in a tomato and lobster broth. It tasted pretty good. Aside from the clams. They were very leathery. I did think it was a little strange that nearly every single mussel that was on my plate was only a shell. I didn't have to pick a mussel out from a shell, they were just in the bowl. I eat mussels all the time. I thought it was a little strange that nearly every single mussel was out of the shell. My mom called the restaurant the following day, Monday. The person she spoke to said they would have the manager call her back. He did not. On Friday, the first person she had spoken to called her and asked if she had heard from the manager. No, she hadn't. He then said he would see that he would. It's Sunday, we haven't heard from him. Tomorrow will make a week. The person that called her back on Friday said that they checked all the dates on the seafood and they were fine. It's hard to say it was the seafood. It's certainly very likely however. My sister and mom both felt absolutely fine. My mom had a haddock dish and my sister had a beef dish. I think a few factors are at play here. This restaurant is on the beach, literally, the views are spectacular, even at night. They have spotlights right on the water and we could see the waves tumbling in throughout our meal. It was a very nice ambiance. It's now mid-winter in new england. No one is at the beach. Even locals don't come out very often to the beach restaurants. As we drove into Salisbury most of the area around this restaurant is boarded up. Very desolate and slightly eerie. My mom had been to the Seaglass twice before, in the summer, and loved it. She was excited to take me here for my birthday. The Seaglass is not getting a whole heck of a lot of customers right now. Therefore, the food is not "turning over" as quickly as a busy restaurant does. Food is sitting longer. Who is to know for sure what happened. I do think the food at this restaurant made me very sick though, and I will not be returning. Our bill was over $300.00. Happy Birthday.

I am not one to be negative about any place I go to but im writing this because of my experience and a couple of my other friends. I will first say dont plan on getting treated like a human being unless you appear like you have money (casual attire if you dont care how youre treated when you walk In the door...)most peoples first thoughts when they enter a restaraunt is they are greeted kindly and welcoming this was not the case when 4 of my friends and I arrived for brunch on a sunday. it took a while for the server to come over and greet us and when she did it wasnt hey how is everyone it was more of a rude look like oh you guys are going to be terrible tippers look. we all got beverages and a wine but not before she grilled my friend about her i.d said she wouldnt get the drink and had a manager approvr that it was not fake. my guess is because my friend didnt own a designer purse so the server thought she couldnt be of age....brunch is easy because the guests go get yheir own food so the only thing the server needs to do is make sure there are beverages and clear plates....since I am a server I saved this server from getting a terrible tip....are bill was over 120 so 25$was a sufficient tip. I told my friends she was probably just having a bad day and next time we go in now that we tip she would treat us better along with the hostess. the brunch itself was good for the price of course, but the service was not what id hoped for after hearing such good reviews from my other friends. I would suggest capri.I think they are sister restaurants but the service at capri goes above and beyond seaglass maybe seaglass could learn something not to judge people by their appearance...my friends tried going there again recently and had another terrible experience nothing to do with the food everything on how they were treated. I use my terrible experience as a reminder to myself that I will never treat any guest differently on what age they are or how they look I care about giving them great service and experience as a whole ..to make sure they want to come back....

Sunday Brunch until 2pm.... Went today for the first time. Heard great things from my customers and the ad they run in our Church Bulletin makes a Church-Brunch combination look great. Had 1:30pm reservation and arrived at 1:46pm. They still had our table by the window and denied the same table to the walk in couple that had arrived just a couple minutes ahead of us. There were tables available but the other couple wanted the ocean view, and who could blame them. So I totally expected that the brunch would be awful with just a few minutes to go. Although it wasn't perfect (I'll explain in a moment), I felt the quality of the food was above average. The eggs benedict came out fresh at 1:55pm and were delicious. Nothing fancy (no crab meat or asparagus) but still great. The carved pork was fabulous and the beef, although well done, had great flavor. The breakfast potatoes were delicious and fresh. Service was attentive and the view great. So the negatives (not their fault, but ours for showing up so late and at the end of the brunch): a - the raw bar was gone b - the desserts were spartan c - the scrambled eggs: I wouldn't feed them to your cat, let alone mine (if I had one) d - not a lot of dishes available. e - the fish had been out for a bit but it still tasted great. Right after I ate mine a new tray came out. I think it was worth the $25 if we had gone between 10 and 12. My wife said, that for $25 she'd like a table cloth. A bit pretentious of her, but I understand her point. Seaglass is trying to be mod and exclusive in their own way. She found several very dirty "clean" plates and the overall presentation of the buffet was lacking. She also didn't think much of the desserts and coffee, and I agree the desserts were nothing special (even if we had been there between 10 and 12). Even with all that I still give this place 4 stars, although my significant other ranges it between 2 and 3 stars.

Gorgeous restaurant. Soft colors and incredible views. Went there today for Mother's day brunch. The food was great. It was hot and presented well. The price was even better for the brunch today ($19.95). It was the worth the long drive today. We had 10AM reservations and the time was perfect. I would take the drive again from the Boston area.

I just read about this restaurant in Northshore magazine in an article titled "Best of the Northshore". It was top pick by the Magazine for "Best Seafood restaurant." I made a reservation for that night, early 5:30, so that we could get in on such short notice. I called the restaurant and asked for a seat along the window and was told that those tables are booked weeks in advance, but they will do their best. We arrived and were seated at a window seat along the side with a fairly nice view. Seaglass is literally on the beach so the view pretty much anywhere in the restaurant is good. The decor was ok, but uninspired, basically a big boxy room. Maybe it looks better in the dark. So far so good. The waitress was friendly and recommended a dish when asked whats good? She recommended the Lobster and Scallops Farfalle. My wife chose that and I had the Captains platter. The food though was mediocre and bland. My wife's platter should have been called scallops with lobster, were the lobster was two of the most insignificant pieces of lobster I have ever seen. I joked it looked more like crayfish claw meat due to it's small size. My platter was uninspired and just plain bland. The dessert was good, a NY cheesecake. In summary, the view was nice, but I'm not in any rush to go back. This restaurant certainly IS NOT the best seafood restaurant on the Northshore as picked by Northshore Magazine.

The Seaglass Restaurant and Lounge is a superb eatery. The Seaglass offers a perfect balance of first-class food, memorable ambiance, and notable service. From the fresh warm dinner rolls, to the wedge salad, on to the filet mignon, finished with a gelato bannanna split, the Seaglass doesn't miss a beat. The Seaglass is located directly on the Atlantic Ocean, and decorated in a simplistic fashion. The ocean views and serene ambiance is what sets dinning at the Seaglass apart from other fine dining establishments. The service is exceptional, because the servers are intelligible, and know the menu they are presenting. Overall, I highly recommend the Seaglass Restraunt and Lounge. It's not just a restaurant, it's an experience.

Had a very nice dinner at Seaglass on a Thursday evening. We were able to get reservations for 4 @7pm. The view is beautiful and definitely what you pay for (right on the beach). Parking is easy (right out front and free). The service was great, although food was just average. I got the filet, and it was fine (nothing special). I don't know if I would make a special trip, but again, the view was wonderful!

This place could do better. Beautiful view, but food and service didn't stack up. We called Sunday morning around 10 and asked if there were any reservations available, the hostess informed us that they didn't have anything available but if we came in "now" we should be able to get a table because there weren't reservations at certain tables reserved until noon. We got there around 11 and when we got to the host stand she said she couldn't seat us at a table - of which we came to see there were 7 open. She told us we could sit at the bar, fine. We sat up at the bar and the bartender (female, 30's ish with light brown/dark blonde hair) was absolutely rude. She came over and asked if we wanted something to drink and when we said just coffee and water she looked annoyed. Hello, it's 11AM - not everyone is going to drink. She barked back at us "you can go to the buffet whenever you want" and walked away. We made our way through the buffet line which had baked haddock, chicken broccoli & ziti, pancakes, bacon & sausage, scrambled eggs, breads, salad and an omelet station. We stuck to breakfast first and shared, and then went up for lunch dishes to share. By the way, when we got back to the bar, the bartender was half in the back of the bar where we couldn't see her and she never brought our coffee and water. We got her attention and she came over and gave us the head nod - like - what do you want - and we had to ask for it again. The pancakes were awful, overcooked and rubbery, the bacon was almost burned and the omelet took 10 minutes to cook. Lunch items, we tried a piece of fish and a scoop of the pasta and the pasta was really good - but the fish was SO dry. This worst part was that we left there at 12:20 and ALL 7 tables that were "reserved" were still open. This place is $20 each for brunch and could do much better.

It was not what we were expecting. Was expecting something more like what you may find in Nantucket, rustic elegant. The place was like walking into a convention center and it felt like we were part of a large conference. That being said the views of the water are wonderful, but the outside seating looks over the parking lot so if you want to sit outside like we did on a summer night you are looking at a building and cars, not very romantic. The food however is very good. Very very fresh fish. Veggies were cooked perfect, and the kids menu was full of healthy options, not just chicken fingers. Service was great, not too in your face but very friendly. food and service is great, If it were not for the style of the restaurant and the impersonal feel of the place this could be a really nice option for fine dining in the Seacoast.

The best part of my SEAFOOD casserole was my side of mashed potatoes! Our server, Peggy, was attentive and personable. The view was nice, if you could see through the dirty windows. The hostesses were not warm or inviting. They left the impression of being stuck up. The food: not for my pallet! I ordered the "cast iron seafood casserole" which arrived in a white ceramic bowl/plate. When I ordered, I guess I should have read the description. I was sorely disappointed. Instead of a butter and cracker crumb kind of casserole it was breadcrumb and tomato bisque like. The seafood consisted of a few scallops, shrimp and pieces of lobster and one piece of haddock. All of which had the "previously frozen" taste. The asparagus was laid in a squishy pile of something that resembled summer squash. My mashed potatoes were half REAL potatoes and half instant. Which wasn't bad, I happen to like both. I did enjoy my side salad with the orange and honey dressing. For a $28.00 plate, my favorite part was when I was done. Forcing myself to eat this disappointment is one of the two stars. Peggy's good service was the other star. Needless to say I won't be back.

Never again! We were there the last week of April, the restaurant was less than 1/2 full and sat my wife and I as well as our 4 year grand daughter up front in the corner windows over looking the beach and water. It might have a nice view if the windows were clean, as far as the service that was horrible and extremely time consuming. Our waitress showed up at the table almost a half an hour after we were seated, we ordered a soft drink, my wife decafe tea and it was all flavored, my grand daughter milk had a fly in it and that took us 20 minutes to get. The clam chowder that showed up another 20 minutes later was so bad and slightly warm that 2 spoonful's was it for us. When the lobster rolls showed up, the waitress didn't seem to have time to let her know the chowder was cold or that there was a fly in the milk, then my wife's lobster roll had 3-4 pieces of shell in it and that turned her right off, our grand daughters chicken tenders were anything but that, she couldn't even pull them apart. We had to ask the waitress 3 times for glass's of water which we never got and when she dropped he bill in front of us I gasped, $84! I tried to ask for the manager but he was too busy talking to some other customers for 1/2 hour 2 tables over I finally walked up to him and politely asked for a minute he replied just a moment and then disappeared.

we came to seaglass for a nice lunch with a view. well, we got the view but the lunch was not as good as it should have been. the waiter was helpful, even bringing me a nice trio of chardonnays to help me choose my lunch beverage (even though it was only 8:45 AM in san francisco, it was 11:45 AM in salisbury). i tried the clam chowder, which has bacon in it (heads up for pescetarian) and the mussel appetizer...both were really good. for my entree i had the scallops stuffed with crab (how do you stuff a scallop? you don't) with asparagus and sweet potato waffle cut fries. the sweet potatoes were not waffle cut or fries. they were soggy slices of sweet potato's that were not very good. they gave me a lot of asparagus but it was cold and unevenly cooked. and unfortunately, although the scallops were tasty and cooked well, they were really cold. i would have sent it back except that we were a large group and i didn't want to hold everyone back. so i brought it home and i'm sure it will be better nuked in the microwave later tonight. the view is amazing and the food was ok. but they need to work on execution and service. if it wasn't for the fact that all their fish is sustainable and/or line caught, they might get 2 stars. i applaud there commitment to sustainability and look forward to them getting their act together in the kitchen. if i drop 34 bucks for my lunch entree, it better be awesome. and it wasn't.

We had dinner here a couple of months ago, just getting around to finishing up my review... We started out with the tuna appetizer and mussels. Both were very tasty, fresh, and had generous portions. We also had a tomato salad which was not all that good - I believe the menu had said it was heirloom tomatoes, but the tomatoes we had were of the crispy-mealy-grocery store variety. I say, don't put a tomato salad on your menu if you're a restaurant in New England and its March. You're just not going to get good tomatoes. For our entrees, we had the haddock two ways, broiled and blackened. Allowing the diner to choose how they like their fish cooked is a nice touch, but sometimes a little guidance might be nice - blackened haddock sounded much better than it tasted. We also had the vegetarian special, which was some fried tofu, fried arancini balls, and I believe some greens. I should have read the menu more closely, I didn't realize it was all going to be fried. In my opinon, that kind of defeats the purpose of getting a (typically) healthier vegetarian option. We also had the scallops blackened, which were very good. For beverages, we had a couple of scotches, along with one of their Very Berry Martinis. This was a nice martini with a definite kick. We ended the evening with a slice of Chocolate cake, which was very rich and hit the spot. The view is really nice, we were there at night and they shine the lights out on the ocean so you can watch the waves if you are near enough to the windows. So, in summary, the food was good but not great. I was hoping to be blown away by this place, but on my first visit I wasn't. I'd give them a second chance, though, maybe check it out at lunch next time.

We had an evening at the Seaglass restaurant in Salisbury, located right on the beach. It is a fairly new place, with the telephone not all installed yet, but the food was quite excellent. A not too overwhelming menu with many daily specials, covering interesting seafood compositions, healthy steak choices, and also vegetarian entrees. The wine list is - again - not miles long, but offers everything you need for a reasonable fine dining experience. The certainly best part of the deal is the view: with a window seat, you are practically right above the ocean. Helps a lot in forgetting the stress of the day. Combine this with a friendly, effective service, interesting modern interior, and reasonable prices, and you end up with probably the best choice in this part of the North Shore.

Very surprised this got a platnium plate most of all. Billy C is dead to me now. Outside of the amazing view, if you have a window seat, not much to go crazy about here. Room some how feels function hall like, i have never seen so many large groups and they have this awful rug. Most import the food did not impress. The waitress did not even know what the specials tasted like and explained the sword fish as grilled then pressure cooked..yikes didn't try that one. For fish dishes you are to pick how you want it cooked, sauced and sides. This is a big turn off. Everything was fairly forgettable except the crab cake which made my stomach feel like i ate seaglass. The chocolate cake was good. Its an old story great view eh food.

Very mediocre food. Soggy, overdressed salads. Our table of six had 5 disgruntled diners due to the various missteps in the preparation and/or quality of the food. Overcooked scallops; dried out halibut; extremely fatty prime rib; completely incompetently prepared sauces; scorched, dried out redskin potatoes, odd little mound of chopped up vegetable bits which were unevenly cooked and really unpleasant to see on the plate. So so wine list, watered down cocktails. Bleh. Waitress worked hard to get meals out together, but one of us waited for quite some time after the other 5 were served. Coffee arrived significantly ahead of cream and sugar. Pretty place, nice view, music a little loud and intrusive. Kind of the ultimate in suburban pseudo fine dining. Pricy, too. Wouldn't even consider going back.

If I was rating the restaurant on the food alone, I would give it at least 4 stars. I've never had a bad meal there. My gripe with Seaglass is that they seem to have a higher view of themselves in relation to where they are. Particularly the hostesses. The last time I tried to get a table was back in March. I went in at 5:00 on a Saturday night and was told because I didn't have a reservation, one wouldn't be available until after 8:00 PM. The restaurant was more than half empty. I wasn't even trying to get a window table. For that reason I haven't been back and don't know that I ever will go back.

The view and the service were great on Easter Sunday but the food was sub-par. I could not cut through the Eggs Benedict nor the roast beef. The French Toast was just average and the omelettes were just OK. The price was reasonable so I wasn't so disappointed as a day at the beach makes up for not so great food for me.

Really great restaurant, panorama view of the ocean right on the beach! Went there in August and they had a great list of yummy summer mixed drinks! I had the clam chowder to start, it was creamy, but not my favorite clam chowder. Then I had the beet arugula salad, which was so delicious, I highly recommend if you like beets!

Went to the Seaglass for brunch. The food did not blow me away but the view did. Service was good. The brunch was your standard fare. The sauce on the eggs benedict was congealed and not too appetizing. The omelets were excellent but the carving station only had a selection of ham or beef. Didn't see any seafood or turkey which I was hoping for. Fresh fruit and yummy cannoli's for dessert. We paid $70 including tip for brunch and two drinks. A little pricey. We went toward the end of brunch, maybe if we went earlier the food might have been more to our liking. Forgot to mention that the only seafood I saw was peel and eat shrimp. Kind of messy but good.

I must admit that from having read previous reviews, I was not necessarily looking forward to brunch at Seaglass. A family member was visiting Newburyport, and invited us down from Portsmouth, otherwise we might never have tried it. However, despite the complaints of some reviewers, the restaurant was great - and I really mean excellent. The food, the service, the view, the general condition and cleanliness of the place were all top notch. I didn't necessarily even want to give it five stars, because we just had brunch (albeit leisurely), but my wife and I couldn't think of a single thing to quibble about. And, we are not exactly knaves when it comes to eating and travelling. Maybe we caught Seaglass on a good day, or maybe others have caught it on a bad day, but we were completely surprised and impressed and would return in a second. I don't have anything to do with the restaurant, and I know this review sounds kind of fawning, but you really should try this place.

I had dinner here last Monday night. I was gravely disappointed. I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese which came highly recommended by our waitress. While the dish was delicious there was virtually NO LOBSTER. So if you are looking to spend over $15 for a casserole of mac and cheese then this is your place. The atmosphere is gorgeous. The bar setting is also very upscale. ENJOY!!! Generally my last memory of the food was also.............. MEH!!

Great food and atmosphere. The restaurant is set up on the beach but elevated so it sits up over the sand. Inside, the wall facing the ocean is made of 9-10 ft high windows with the water right below you. Our first experience was in January 2010, we sat right up against one of the windows at night and it was snowing to make for a great experience. The food is great and a little fancier than people might think because it is Salisbury beach. The rumors of the casino strip buying out all of Salisbury beach have finally finished and it's nice to see that the Seaglass owners have taken the first steps in rebuilding the once popular beach. They also have a great breakfast buffet on the weekends.

I feel bad, because I read some of the good reviews, but I simply can't give this place one. I walked in there with 3 friends looking for a bar table. One was open and the hostess told me that there was a 2 hr wait and I should go across the street to some Italian spot. I asked her if we could sit at the open bar table, her response was "I guess". Took over 20 min to get a waitress, and over 1 hr to get our food which was definitely not worth the wait. It was cold, and not cooked right. I actually had to ask for a new Filet, because it was so well done I couldn't even try to shovel it down. Plus I like my steak bloody but was willing to try because I was so hungry. Very disorganized, and haphazard staffing and management. I should've known a spot in Salisbury that was supposed to be nice was too good to be true. Stick to dive bars....That is what you are good at Salisbury!!!

We had our son's UNH graduation lunch here and reserved the private room that looks up the beach. I was worried about the food after some reviews but after 10 of us ate from the lunch menu, I'll have to say it was quite good and I am very picky about restaurants, usually feeling ripped off for the cost. My wife has had crab cakes in nearly every restaurant in a 20 mile radius of Portsmouth and this was by far the best ever. Huge lumps of crab, as they all should be. Portions were excellent, even on the wine pours. I won't go into detail about everyone's items, but all were quite please, maybe because I was paying. :) Anyway, we will go back, especially to sit in the main room with a view by the water.

We ate at this restaurant for the first time this evening and we were very pleased with the atmosphere, food and the service was excellent. The menu is fresh and reasonable and the restaurant is very nice with a great view of the ocean. We took our 2 year old son and 3 1/2 month old daughter and it worked out perfectly.

I was able to make it to this establishment last night 9/2/2010 and have to say I was very impressed. We had to bump up our rservations due to Hurrican Earl and they were able to change our reservations for the same day, great start! Walking into Seaglass had me in awe, looking around the neighborhood you would have no idea such a classy place could exist. The gift shop was adorable, great prices, great items, can't wait to shop there again. We had to wait a few extra minutes for our table with reservations but they were able to get us an ocean front vs ocean side so it was WELL worth it. Our server Meg was friendly and attentive which was great as well. I don't think there was more we could of asked of her. The drinks were great, bread and our meals were superb-filling as well! I think the only complaint was a note we asked to have made on our reservation for our server, it was not correlated to her as one of our party members wanted the check to pay in full as a surprise which didn't end up happening. It is surely a wonderful place with a great vibe for any occasion, even a romantic one. I can't wait to go back!!

Making a reservation for the restaurant was no easy task, if a table facing the ocean was requested. After dining here I am wondering what the fuss is, because at dinner time all you can see is a black facade. During the lunch hour I could appreciate the premium nature of a table with an ocean view. Again, not for dinner. We got to the restaurant for an 8:00pm reservation and were seated a few minutes later at a table that was one row away for the windows (ocean view). At the time we sat down you could see the ocean but as the night progressed the skies turned that view into a wall of blackness. The restaurant is nicely designed, classy and the dress code is "whatever makes you feel comfortable" from what I saw. I don't know if the place has an actual dress policy other than shoes and shirt. I saw people wearing their Levi's and others wearing a suit and a lady in a sequined party dress. The wine menu is very extensive and yielded a bunch of choices that were for "by the glass" selection. Several tables seemed to be getting interesting martinis and combination shots. I figured being on the ocean what better place to get a seafood based dish? I got the Classic French Onion which reads the following way on the menu: Caramelized Vidalia Onions + Veal Bouillon + Cave Aged Swiss + Toasted Crouton. It was good and light colored. The Veal vs. Beef made a difference. A shrimp cocktail was also ordered which consisted of 5 shrimp over a martini glass with the cocktail sauce in the cup with the horseradish ready to be mixed in. The shrimp were pretty good and cleaned out "ok" but not great. For my main course I had the Lobster Bolognese which the menu states has the following: Knuckle + Claw & Tail Meat + Rich Tomato Ragu + Touch of Cream + Gemelli + Braised Spinach for $27.00. The sauce was like a soup and a bit too much. Not a great dish but when I microwaved it for lunch 2 days later it was fantastic. I think that if it had less sauce from the onset it would have left a better impression. The server, Daryl was a bit cold at first but he came around as the meal progressed. He recommended one of the specials on the menu which was a sushi grade tuna but we decided to get another special which had scallops. The dish was "ok" but not memorable. All in all, it was a decent meal but I have had better and would seek another restaurant of this style to try before I returned here for a second chance.

My daughter had her reception here this weekend, and it was SO AMAZING! The new grand ballroom is just breathtaking, and the staff was awesome. Food...fabulous. We were incredibly impressed with the polite and smiling servers, spot on bartenders, and the ambience of the entire upstairs area. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue to future brides and grooms. You won't be disappointed!!!

what can I say, if I were rating on view alone I'd give it 5 stars... however, the food is meh... hit or miss and WAY over priced... the service: there is nothing good that can be said about it! never had good service - servers are lax, not on the ball, not interested in serving you and just plain meh! too bad - the view really is spectacular and unfortunately there are so few good places to eat in Salisbury! :-(((

This place is outstanding! food is great and creative, and the bartenders really know their job. I have eaten here 5-6 times and I've NEVER been disappointed. They have this grilled roman lettuce salad that is just incredible. I hardly ever give 5 stars but this place is Ace's in my book!!! Great job people!

I would only eat here for the sirloin steak. The fish dish was overcooked/dry. The clam chowder was on the heavy side and had very little clam meat.

We were there on Friday, March 13, 2015. It's been a long time since my wife and I have been this impressed with a restaurant. We had reservations on a Friday evening at 6. We got stuck in traffic and called to have it changed to 6:30. No problem, our window seat would be waiting for us, and it was. We were promptly seated and greeted by our waitress Peggy. She suggested some wines and we went with the house special $30 bottle of Cabernet. It was delicious. We ordered the mini beef Wellington for an appetizer. Awesome. Got the onion soup and Caesar salad. Incredibly good. Peggy brought over a couple of free shots of whiskey they were giving out at the bar for a promotion. I ordered a special that night which was a peppercorn steak, cooked perfectly to medium. My wife ordered the salmon that was on the menu. I forgot the name of it, but it was wonderful. Then we got the peanut butter chocolate ice cream something or another. Delicious. Everything was just so perfect. Our waitress Peggy was very helpful in helping us decide what to order. Service was great. View was spectacular. Every single food item was cooked perfectly and was absolutely delicious. The piano player was classy. One of our best experiences in 18 years of marriage.

Seaglass is a really nice restaurant. The dramatic views of the ocean are unparalleled, and the food is delicious. This is a great spot for special occasions. Helpful hint: Be sure to ask for a table adjacent to the windows when making your reservation. Bon appetit!

The chef this place attracts are some of the best from the Boston are. They can make just about anything taste good. My daughter had steak and cheese soup for an app. Even though this sounds like something you get at a truck stop they really created something great. I had the scallops seared. Not under cooked or over cooked. Great place with a view of the ocean.

The Seaglass brunch is delicious and bountiful. They have an egg station, a carving station, fish, salad bar and more. There is something there for everyone. However, unless you plan to bottle the gorgeous view for later or eat five plates, its not always worth it. Go with a big stomach and someone you're trying to impress.

My college friend got married recently and hosted a small lunch reception here after her beach wedding in NH. She couldn't have picked a better place in line with the beach theme. Although located in an unattractive pavilion building, the actual restaurant was upscale for a special occasion and had a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful view of the blue ocean. The best part was the delicious seafood. The shrimp cocktails were springy, plump, succulent, and beautifully presented with a delicious house-made cocktail sauce... well, they better be good, at $3.50 each. The crab cake was meaty and flavorful, and served with a refreshing corn salsa. My lobster croissant sandwich was well-prepared, fresh, and tasty - I liked the croissant vs. typical brioche roll. It also came with your choice of side salad or roasted potato batons... I guess 'batons' sound better than wedges (what they really were). For drinks, sangria and watermelon mojito tasted fine, but I've had better (and bigger glasses) elsewhere. Someone at the party ordered the Seaglass martini, a pretty blue-colored cocktail served with blue rock candy - a fun drink to consider next time. Overall, a 5-star lunch experience - and no, not because it was on the newlyweds' tab, but for the quality food, service, and wonderful atmosphere.

We went as a party of 4, with an 8 O'Clock reservation for a Saturday night. We weren't seated until 8:30, which was fine, as we were in no rush. I had some sort of Cranberry Margarita which was excellent. For dinner, we had lamb chops, filet and I had blackened scallops. Scallops were excellent as was the portion. My company thought the lamb chops were a little under done. The filet was very tender. The waitress brought out a personal sized unleavened chocolate cake -no cost, for my friend's birthday. That was very good. Overall, I would go back here. The view was wonderful. We thought that the crowd was definiltey older, (like Viagra-commercial older) but I would go back just for the view. Our bill was just under 200 for four people with four drinks and dinner.

The view holds a 5 star. As does the ambiance; modest and elegant all rolled together. The mighty Atlantic is front and center from the window view. You can watch the waves wash right up unto the beach. You have to ask for a window table. Service was lousy. Except from the manager on duty. The hostess who greeted us could barely give a you know what... almost as she is going through the motions so she can punch out and go home. Same for the waiter. I ordered the prime rib medium rare. It came to me medium well towards well done. It was disgusting... if you eat medium rare meats. The waiters response was "Look I didn't cook it!" anyways the manger on duty came by explained it was the end of the night and there are no medium rare cuts left he offered a steak but my girlfriend was finishing hers dinner so he took it off the bill which was fine but I only ate 1/3 of it. The waiter brought out some ajus which helped a little bit but still... The waiters overall attitude even before the delivery of the overcooked prime rib was one of a "professional order taker" or a waiter who treats his customers as an ATM machine.

Pricy, too. Wouldn't even consider going back.

after two years of not going here, i tired again. service was excellent (wish i could remember her name) she went out of her way to get us the show list for the music hall. professionally answered our questions about the menu. gave us just the right amount of attention. had the spa salad ( would eat it again) oysters were fresh scallop apptz was delightful! lil pricey but we expected that.

Thought we'd go for the buffet again this past Sunday so we belly-ed up to the bar and waited for the bartender to come over. And waited. There she is! Hubby asked if he could get his Bloody Mary with ALL Clamato juice (seeing it stated they used Clamato juice) and she got very defensive. She told him that they just add clam juice to the tomato juice so he couldn't get Clamato. Then he asked if he could try it, she brought him some, he ordered his drink and she took away the rest of the almost full taster. Strange. Anyhow, checked out the buffet and it was more of a salad bar than anything else (hot items looked pretty dried out) so we had our cocktail, paid and got beach pizza. Gone was the awesome buffet of two years ago. No peel and eat shrimp, no eggs benedict, no piano player..... Why oh why do we keep going back?

This place was totally average. We had the caprese salad which was kinda boring and we split an order of baked haddock. It came with some very generic mashed potato and various odd vegetables. The portion was big but the flavor was weak. Nice spot for drinks and an app maybe, but not an amazing meal by any stretch.

What a relaxing place with a phenomenal view. The food is excellent and if there is ever an issue the chef will remake the ENTIRE entree! What a great service philosophy. Andrew the bartender is perfection and Laina is the cutest and hardest working barmaid on the Northshore. This is a hidden gem and I almost hate spreading the word because I don't want the place to get too crowded that we can't get a seat! But that would be selfish wouldn't it?! LOL

I had dinner at Seaglass on a Saturday in the height of tourist season recently. After scanning these reviews, I had my doubts, but local friends recommended it, so we gave it a shot and were rewarded for it. Yes, the view is outstanding, but so was the service - we had an experienced, knowledgable and professional waitress named Peggy - and the food. I had the Sesame Scallops appetizer, the Haddock Oscar, a fresh and savory beet salad and creme brulee for dessert. It was easily the best dinner I've had in the Hampton/Salisbury area in years. The prices are high, but I felt it was worth it. Do call for reservations first and ask for a window seat, or you won't get one.

Went here on the last day of our vacation and wished we went earlier so we could've gone back for more!!! Seared local scallops with a parmesan risotto... Melted in my mouth.. Husband got the filet with bernaise and didn't even need a knife! We spilt a side of the Mac and cheese as well... It was really creamy and all around delightful.. My husband didn't agree... Apparently it was too creamy and cheesy for him (is that possible?!?). The room, view, and ambience was fantastic - our waitress Jessica wad great and very knowledgeable and helpful. The only bad thing I have is that the bread we got seemed quite stale..but we didn't need the bread with the meal as good as it was. Will definitely be going back!!

I had very low expectations for this restaurant, given that my husband and I decided to walk the beach before our reservation and I won't even mention what I had to step over while on the beach. Salisbury beach is in serious need of a renovation, it has so much potential but I digress! So we walk into Seaglass and I felt like I was transformed to a different beach! Where were the dive bars? The arcades circa 1960? We made reservations and asked for a window seat. We arrived 20 minutes early and I expected to need to have a drink at the bar, but surprisingly, our table (by the window) was waiting for us. I was impressed! There was a storm offshore and the waves that night were amazing. We started out with the tuna app, very yummy with wasabi peas on the side. My husband opted for the blackened haddock, he was very happy with his choice. I got the special which came with tuna, stuffed shrimp, and salmon...omg, super yummy! The one thing I liked was that our plates were filled with fish and veggies, no huge sides of rice/potatoes/starches. The wine list was decent too! Our server was attentive, offering advice when we asked and even talking to us about the planned "rejuvenation" of the area and the history of the building/area. I would def. be back, I loved the ambiance, food and service. It truly is a diamond in the (Salisbury Beach) rough! One side note, we were on vacation in the area and I wore flip flops and my husband wore a t-shirt and shorts and we almost felt like we were underdressed...

This was our second visit to Seaglass. The 1st was for the dollar raw bar night which we totally enjoyed. This was the first time for dinner. We love the location and the feeling of being surrounded by water. All four of us had something different for dinner and each of us was happy with our dinners. The lobster was one of the best, and I particularly like the choice of quite a few fresh fish that can be cooked anyway and with the diner's choice of sauce. I will have to remember to come here more often, the food was delicious, the service excellent and the view the best.

Talk about a view! If you get a good seat, you will feel like you are sitting on top of the ocean. We got lucky with walk in seating, so I would suggest a call ahead if your particular. Food was great, I would suggest the seafood platter app. Steaks and seafood are served with your choice of a variety of sauces, everything is very fresh. Yummy onion soup, fabulous chocolate cake (the gelato's not to bad either). The Mac and Cheese side, while not one to rival the Capital Grill's, was very good, as were the asparagus. I must also mention the enormous (and I mean enormous) baked potato. We did not order one, but one passed by and let me just say it looked like a football! For what you get, the prices seemed increadibly reasonable (the four of us got out of there for just over $50 a person, including coffee, dessert and drinks). Sorry folks, no fried food here! Apparently, they are a "green" restaurant, and as our waitress, who was great, explained, not serving fried food is one of the steps they took to assist in such an endeavor (not that I'm really sure what one has to do with the other). She was, however, incredibly knowledgable, especially considering the restaurant is so new. Very efficient, and patient (we can be pains to serve:) Definately worth the trip!

I don't know if I would make a special trip, but again, the view was wonderful!

we came to seaglass for a nice lunch with a view. well, we got the view but the lunch was not as good as it should have been. the waiter was helpful, even bringing me a nice trio of chardonnays to help me choose my lunch beverage (even though it was only 8:45 AM in san francisco, it was 11:45 AM in salisbury). i tried the clam chowder, which has bacon in it (heads up for pescetarian) and the mussel appetizer...both were really good. for my entree i had the scallops stuffed with crab (how do you stuff a scallop? you don't) with asparagus and sweet potato waffle cut fries. the sweet potatoes were not waffle cut or fries. they were soggy slices of sweet potato's that were not very good. they gave me a lot of asparagus but it was cold and unevenly cooked. and unfortunately, although the scallops were tasty and cooked well, they were really cold. i would have sent it back except that we were a large group and i didn't want to hold everyone back. so i brought it home and i'm sure it will be better nuked in the microwave later tonight. the view is amazing and the food was ok. but they need to work on execution and service. if it wasn't for the fact that all their fish is sustainable and/or line caught, they might get 2 stars. i applaud there commitment to sustainability and look forward to them getting their act together in the kitchen. if i drop 34 bucks for my lunch entree, it better be awesome. and it wasn't.

LOL

Great food staff is super nice ! We had Al as our bartender ! The best bartender I have ever met! He has a million dollar smile! Interacts great with customers! If your gonna go for a drink go see Al! (Ask for Al)

First time we went to Seaglass was four years ago. Six of us sat in a booth and I remember thinking "what a gorgeous place", with high ceilings, understated, tasteful decor, and second-floor windows overlooking the ocean. I remember the food was excellent but the service a tad slow, albeit good. Last week we went back, just hubby and I, and opted to sit at the bar since it'd gotten a bit late. We were handed drink menus, requested a food menu, and began looking around. Nothing's really changed, I did notice the TVs behind the bar this time. Our yummy drinks came and we ordered the ahi poke appetizer. Very fresh, very tasty, and plenty for sharing. I could easily have made this my meal! Hubby wanted some real food though, and ordered the ribeye, mid-rare. Other than seeming to take a long time, what was presented was beautiful: outside charred to perfection, inside exactly the proper pink, and ridiculously tender. So then why the three stars? I guess it's just one of those places from which I don't get the warm fuzzies. Next time we end up there I may change this...we'll see. Check it out, lemme know what you think!

Our server, Jana was more than amazing. We had a huge party and she kept us serviced and happy. She was pleasant and accommodating. The ambience: the view was gorgeous. Beautiful beach views, piano bar. Lovely interior. The website photos over exaggerate the true atmosphere. It is much less formal than the website portrays. The food: Meh. Our salmon was overlooked. Steak was so over cooked that we sent it back. The manager came over to tell us what the restaurants standards are for a medium steak. He told us we were wrong about our steaks but as a courtesy they would recook them. Then told us we were wrong and don't know a medium steak when we see one. He said "I just want you to know for the next time you come." Sorry honey, no next time for me. At these prices I can go to a legit steakhouse and get my steak cooked medium-the way the rest of the world defines medium.

The two stars are for the view. It is a great view, but it ended there for me. We had reservations on a Tuesday night, no window seat and the waitress took forever just to come get out drink order. I was very thirsty! Then she asked if we wanted bread and we said yes, another 15 minutes where she had walked by out table more than a few times. People around us had drinks and bread, we had nothing. The food was alright, nothing I would be going back for at those prices. I'm willing to pay for a great meal and good service but here they lack both so there is no point to go back and pay for that. Sorry, on to the next!

We stopped in for lunch on a road trip. We were seated quickly, but waited at least ten minutes for a server to take our drink order. The service was slow the entire time and it took a long time for our food to get there. While it is a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful view, we were not excited by the food and thought everything was just OK. This seems like a good place to take groups but it wasn't for us.

I used to love it here. We hosted my moms 50th party back in 2012 and it was marvelous. Went last night, the service was horrible. ( I have been a server at a busy upscale restaurant for several years so I know the business). The appetizer was great. Tuna lollipops. However the experience continued to spiral when the meals came. The special was a steak au poivre... I asked to have the cook to lightly rub the pepper on steak. The waitress Kathryn said it was no rubbed in it but came with a sauce. I asked for that on the side. I like peppercorn rubbed steak but sometimes it can have a little too much pepper. She said ok. We get our meals and the steak was covered in FINELY ground pepper. She said they did it lightly. My first bite I was choking. When she came back 15 minutes later to check she was going to have them just grill me a plain steak. Ok things happen. Sadly, her reaction was so flat it was odd. The second steak comes out 20 mins later and it's cooked well. I asked for medium rare. Kathryn again did not care and just comp'd it. I don't mind paying $$ for a good meal. I love tipping servers well too after working in the industry. Never did a manager come over or anything. I won't be back. The view is pretty.

So the view is lovely and some of the food was very good. Service was poor, the stations were too spread out. At one point had to wait 20 minutes between round of drink. There were 3 of us, one ordered lobster which had to be sent to the kitchen to be cracked. It came back only partially cracked and was just to hard for even these New England veterans

Hostess amazing as we had to wait over half hour beyond reservation time to catch a concert. She made sure all went well! Beet and arugula salad delicious! Scallops with lobster and mushroom risotto would have been great , but ruined by too much salt! Beautiful space !

We came here for a trivia night and it was pretty dead, though it was in the fall. The service was attentive and friendly, though the food took a while to come out once it was ordered. It seems like a lot of regulars come here. They offered a salad bar with soups on its own or to add on to the meal. The chowder was only OK, but the fish and chips were tasty and cooked perfectly and my dining companions enjoyed the haddock and fries. We were here at night, but outside seating with a view of the Merrimack might have made the experience a bit more enjoyable. The prices were high, average for the area, but not worth it for the quality. All in all, it was an average, though completely forgettable restaurant with nothing to set it apart from a hundred others I've been to. With so many great places to eat in Newburyport just over the bridge, it's unlikely I'd come here again.

The restaurant is located in the heart of Salisbury Beach, right on the Oceanside. You can't beat the spectacular view of the ocean while you an enjoy a meal with your significant other, family, and friends. You can either call ahead for a reservation or just walk in the front door. However, if you just walk in, depending on the night/day, you may not be able to get a seat. Most people make reservations ahead before coming to the restaurant, at least to ensure they can get a window seat. If you don't get a window seat, don't worry, you'll still get a very good view of the ocean because it's all around in an almost 180-degree panoramic view. A classy place to visit. Got a special day with your significant other? This is the place to take in the local area. Prices are reasonable for the atmosphere, food, and service. Food is delicious. Ocean views and relaxing piano playing. Come here to take your time eating and enjoy the view and company of your friends. The breakfast buffet on Sunday has taken a downward spiral over the last couple years. Been here three times in the last year and the last visit was the worst for the brunch. The selection of food was limited and the quality of food was eh...have had better at McDonald's. There is only one selection for lunch food and it's always the same choice. Seaglass owners need to change the menu or they'll lose the business for Sunday buffet. The rating remains high because the food at other times (other than Sunday buffet) is top notch and worth the visit.

Beautiful view and atmosphere...had clam chowder and Caesar salad for lunch...server is very attentive and hostess gracious. They have a full schedule of events during the week. Clam chowder was very meaty and filling. Caesar salad was good...glad they offered cup of soup and small salad for $10. Will come back

We took my mom here for her 90th birthday for a lunch celebration. I can't think of a single negative about our experience. Our reservation went smoothly and all were very polite and helpful. Our view of the ocean was great. The atmosphere was nice. It was a little more casual than i expected, but nice. Classy, but not too fancy. I thought my hubby would stick out like a sore thumb in his t-shirt attire (stubborn!), but that was not the case at all. Our food was all very good. I had the haddock sandwich with roasted potatoes. It was delicious. Others had lobster roll, hamburger, sandwhiches, all were very pleased with their meal. Prices are not bad for lunch really. Some of the entrees were up there but you could get sandwiches reasonably priced, and they have kid's meals as well. Martinis are great! Born on the Beach martini, yum, went down WAY too easy;) I LOVE when they give you the mini shaker and you sort of get that little extra and can pour at your pace. We brought our own cake for my mom, which they graciously took from us, cut it and plated it, and served it with a smile. Waiter was personable and responsive. We all had a great time. My mom loved everything. It was a great experience and i would definitely go again.

Attended brunch yesterday. Our "special request" was honored quite nicely. The table setting was different--all the necessities PLUS crumbs from the night before and what seemed to be DUST on top of the table. Except for the French Toast Bread Pudding (which was excellent), the brunch offerings were nothing out of the ordinary. There were very limited options from which to choose. Croissants were stale, meaning dry and "cakey" on the inside. The waitress was very kind and attentive. Overall, we weren't impressed with brunch. We have had dinner here several times as well, and those were just mediocre; one of the waiters (whose name I won't mention here) was down right nasty and wearing a soiled shirt. It seemed that we were "bothering" him during the entire evening's dining. This establishment should decide what they want to portray to the public. Are you an upscale, high-end restaurant who caters to your clients, or are you a comfortable, casual-dining restaurant/bar at the beach? You can't be both, and right now, you're quasi-upscale at best. The big-screen TV in the bar area (actually, it's in the back part of the dining room) definitely needs to go if you're leaning towards "upscale." If you want beautiful ocean views without much more, this is your place to dine. Yelp photos are nicer than the actual place. Ceiling in the main area of the dining room shows exposed pipes in a renovated building that's many years old...not sure whey they enclosed only portions of the ceiling?? Feeling underwhelmed by Seaglass.

We held a surprise birthday party for my mom in the Wave function room and everything worked out perfectly. From the initial communication with Patty to working with the staff the day of the party (Jodi and team), everything went very smoothly. The view was awesome for an afternoon function. Every need was attended to quickly and efficiently to make the party a success. We had a brunch buffet and every selection was delish! We had some breakfast items (scrambled eggs, spinach/tomato frittata, bacon, sausage, french toast) and lunch items (salad, mixed veggies, creamy chicken alfredo *SO GOOD* and baked haddock). Everyone commented on how good the food was. Oh and before the full buffet was served, guests were welcomed with coffee/tea, croissants and a beautiful fruit platter. The croissants were SO good, especially with whatever jam they served on the side. The space was HUGE which was great because we had some little ones present (ages 5 and younger) so they were able to run around without running into guests. My only disappointment was not having a sound system or a projector screen available. It all worked out fine in the end - we used a portable Bose speaker which filled the room nicely with background music and used a small wall to project a slide show. However, in the morning when we tested the slide show, the glare / light pouring into the room made it very difficult to see the photos and there were no curtains to dim the room. By the time we actually showed the slideshow in the afternoon, the sun had shifted so we could see the slide show a little better. Overall, a wonderful experience working with Seaglass to create a very special event. Will definitely consider for future day time functions - you really can't beat that beach view!!!

I made a reservation for a table by the window 2 weeks prior to our dinner. I was told "Yes, we have you down for a table by the window!" When we got there, it took 10 minutes before they took us to be seated, and they sat us at a regular table in the dining room. I immediately asked the person seating us if she had us down for a table seat, and she told me she would check. She never returned so I asked the other hostess, and she said there wasn't a table available, and that the "new girl" was not sure of herself. Then she said " I will come check on you later, OK? ( as she taped on my shoulder) and she never came by to where we were. I just didn't think it was a professional way to handle the situation, especially since we saw 4 tables by the windows, with no one was seated! It's really too bad, because the food was very good, and our waitress was very good.

I can honestly say based on previous reviews I almost skipped this place, but it was dollar raw bar night, so we decided why not. I am so glad we decided to take the jump. The restaurant it's self is wonderfully decorated in sea side contemporary. I'd actually like the fireplace decor for my own home. The service was good, they could have been a bit quicker if I wanted to pick, but we were in no hurry so it was fine. We always think going to dollar anything night is going to be cheaper, but it never is the grand total was 96 for two people who pigged out on the freshest properly shucked oysters, huge 2 dollar shrimp and prob some of the best clams I've had that I didn't dig myself, and ample alcohol. I was very happy with the oyster Rockefeller, although for four oysters 18 is a bit expensive, but they were excellent as were the clams Casio. Well def be returning. All the hot dinner entrees we saw looked well played and ample as well. They have a different special each night check out the website.

We went off season on a stormy Tuesday afternoon-getting a wonderful table was no problem, but I can imagine during the season they are hard to come by. The staff was wonderful, very pleasant and friendly. But it's all about the food! My hubby had the French Onion soup as an appetizer and I had the house signature salad. They were both very good. The salad was a little small, but none the less tasty. I had the lobster mac & cheese, my hubby had the Herb Dusted Statler Chicken Breast-both were VERY good. This chicken tasted well marinated and very flavorful (I got a taste) and the lobster mac & cheese was made from fresh ingredients. Desert was the Pièce de résistance! They had creme brulee, which is my hubby's favorite! It was delicious, could have used more vanilla bean, and would have been better warmed, but it was very smooth and creamy-a wonderful end to a good meal! I will definitely go back again. I often find that restaurants that have a special something like a great view (as this one definitely does) skimp or fall short on the food-not the case here-a great place for sure!

  • Kay W.

My husband and I would have had a perfect pre-show dinner here, had it not been that my filet mignon (which I requested be cooked "a definite medium") was served rare. While my steak was immediately returned to the kitchen, I had to sit and watch my husband eat his dinner. Then, he got to watch me eat my dinner. Not all that romantic! But, in a busy place, this does happen from time to time. At the least, I should have been served a comp'd glass of wine while I waited. We may try the Seaglass again, but, more likely, for lunch.

I went here over the summer for a fantastic dinner after a relaxing day on the beach. I must say, it was a great way to end the evening. We were seated quickly with a window seat and an amazing view of the ocean. Great service, food, drink, atmosphere. Good for a big family dinner or romantic date for two. Overall a wonderful experience and I hope to be back sometime!

We have gone here many time since they opened. Love the food and the atmosphere. Tonight we went for our first time in a few months. They always had a piano playing light jazz. A few months ago they decided to add a singer. One of the things I liked the most was the quiet ambiance. Typical of these situations, the singers now think they are the stars and are much too loud. Turn it down and let us carry on a conversation over dinner.

I loved the Sea Glass Restaurant. The atmosphere was relaxing, clean, dimly lit and comfortable. The view is spectacular with the crashing waves outside making me feel like I was on a boat. I had the arugula quinoa salad and sweet potato mash which were both delicious. My friend had the Angus burger which he enjoyed as well. Service was quick and the variety of warm breads and butter before our meal was nice.

Went here for a friends bday dinner. The view is AMAZING. The restaurant was nice and clean, our server was very attentive and the food was pretty good. I had a red velvet martini - pretty good but could have used a little spice and when it started to curdle I just couldn't finish it. The Greek Snapper was great - i just wish it wasn't sitting on a pile of greasy sauce. I like my food nice and clean and this sauce was just too heavy for me. Overall - very nice place to try out for an occasion dinner because the view is top notch.

Food is good, but you don't get a lot for the money, but the view is fantastic, so that's what you're paying for at Seaglass. Go on a sunny day after a storm so you can watch the waves, just to justify the cost. :) Also the Sunday buffet I found a lot to be cold, bread dry, although we went later in the morning, so that might have something to do with it. I'd go back though and will return...I love sitting next to the ocean! Monday's are fish and chips...for $9.99 and I haven't been to their burger deal on Tuesdays for $5.00; so both of those nights are worth the cost. You won't get a big piece of fish though, so if you're hungry, buy an appetizer too.

What a wonderful treat to be invited out to lunch with a girlfriend - and what an amazing lunch to have seaside. Seaglass Restaurant, located at the Pavilion on Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts, not only offers an amazingly well crafted menu but also scenic views of the Atlantic ocean - any closer and you'd feel the sea spray!

My mother and my sisters-in-law and I regularly attend Cooking At Seaglass with Chef Harley and Jim the bar manager. This is a really fun evening hosted by two excellent men. The food is always fabulous and I learn so much. It is a true pleasure to come to this beautiful restaurant, and even moreso when we come out for the Cooking At Seaglass. Excellent food, terrific service, lovely atmosphere.

My husband and I went here yesterday afternoon, around 2 pm. It took 20 min for the appetizers to come out and another 20 min for the entrees to come out. The wait was very long. The lobster mac and cheese was not good. It was not cheesy, the sauce was rather thin & milky. One of the pieces of lobster tasted extremely fishy and off-putting, my meal was inedible after that. However, our waitress was friendly and accommodating, the views of the ocean are beautiful. But the food did not taste fresh and was not prepared properly.

My family and I were very disappointed with the food and service at Seaglass. Most of our food was cold and the mashed potatoes were rock hard. Drinks took 20 minutes to come from when we ordered them and the kids Mac and cheese was gritty. When brought to the attention of the manager, he did not seem to be concerned with our being dissatisfied. The waitress tired hard to be accommodating but did not have the support of the manager or anyone else. It will be a long time, if ever, we return here.

What a pleasant surprise. With all the mixed reviews, wife and I really weren't sure what to expect. When we walked in, we were quickly seated at a beautiful table situated next to floor to ceiling windows. A beautiful view of the beach and surf were afforded to us at this perfect table. Our waitress introduced herself and took our cocktail order. Drinks were delivered in short order. Now me and my wife love to take it slow. We instructed Peggy, our waitress that she would, more than likely, have us with her for quite some time. Totally unfazed, she simply stated that when we were ready to order, to simply flag her down. When ordered, appetizers consisted of oysters for me and a beet salad for my wife. Both were wonderful. Actually, my wife couldn't finish her salad as the portion was quite large. Entrees were lobster and scallop carbonara for me and pan roasted scallops for my wife. Absolutely delicious. I had plenty of lobster and the scallops were cooked to perfection. My wife couldn't believe the portion size and couldn't finish her so delicious meal. Mango, Raspberry Champagne and Pistachio Gelato topped off the meal and was light and delicious. Upon leaving, we made another reservation. A bit of a drive for us, but for summer Oceanside dining. so worth the trip.

Been here several times. The food is OK but the view is what I come here for. Ordered a steak with truffle oil potatoes but they were out. I really wish the waitress told me before I had my heart set on it! The other negative is that this restaurant is huge but of course everyone wants to sit by the windows so everyone is on top of each other- the entire restaurant is dead until you get the the glass! It would be nice to have more space. I will always come here for the view!

I have been back to seaglass many times since my first review. Its safe to say they have changed my opinion of them. The thai chicken peanut lettuce wraps are awesome. The drinks are awesome and the porterhouse pork chop was awesome. It's not perfect, but it's very good, much better than the below average review I previously gave.

The food was pretty good, actually better than expected. We started with the oysters which were great. For dinner I ordered the swordfish with cauliflower and wild rice and my partner ordered the shrimp scampi. The reason why I only gave this restaurant 1 star was because the service was by far the worst service we have ever had. The server practically ignored us throughout the entire meal. We even had to ask another server to help us check out because we couldn't wait to leave. We would have ordered dessert but we were so disappointed that we couldn't bear to stay there any longer. Sorry, but I would never go back regardless of how great the meal was.

The most notable thing about this restaurant is the fantastic location, the building literally overlooks the beach and ocean. There are huge windows on two sides that capitalize on the view. The rest of the decor is classy and understated, the room has an elegant feel. Service was very pleasant and helpful. I found the food overall to be very good, ranging from excellent to good within the meal. I had the seafood casserole which had full sized pieces of fresh, perfectly cooked seafood but I didn't care for the other components of the dish as much. The accompanying asparagus was fresh and cooked well but the mashed potatoes were disappointing, they were reminiscent of instant potatoes even though I'm sure they're not. Overall I found the experience to be enjoyable and memorable and would dine there again. The prices are a tad too high for the food but that's balanced some by the location.

Amazing view. We went for bunch a couple of weekends ago and the food was your basic buffet style- with a mild upgrade with the carving station and raw shrimp. I am allergic to shrimp, but the presentation seemed nice and if I was to eat it- I could have had a ton. I wasn't too impressed with the selection, but my boyfriend loved the omlet order feature. Staff was friendly and decor was clean and what you would expect from a restaurant on the beach. Drinks were massively overpriced. I'd go back, but know going in that for 2 people for brunch with 1 bloody mary each will cost you upwards of $70. Just kinda seems high for New Hampshire! Seabrook, no less!

I've been here a half dozen times and each time wonder why I don't come more often. The view is absolutely amazing an the decor is upper scale beach themed. Service has always been great, quick and attentive. they seem to really know the menu, whixh you dont see in many resturannts. On Friday nights they have a piano man, he is excellent! MEH!!

MEH!!

Upscale place at Salisbury Beach that is nice for a night out. $1.00 raw bar on Wednesday's. It's right on the Ocean with a great view.

Once again a delicious and wonderful meal! Glad we chose this time and time again for our special occasions. For seafood, courtesy and a beautiful view-they do it right!

Love the Seaglass! You just can't beat the view - be sure to reserve well in advance and ask for a window seat - they are hard to come by, but well worth planning ahead. Food is excellent (if a little pricey) and the drinks are great too.

They also have a great breakfast buffet on the weekends.

we came to seaglass for a nice lunch with a view. well, we got the view but the lunch was not as good as it should have been. the waiter was helpful, even bringing me a nice trio of chardonnays to help me choose my lunch beverage (even though it was only 8:45 AM in san francisco, it was 11:45 AM in salisbury). i tried the clam chowder, which has bacon in it (heads up for pescetarian) and the mussel appetizer...both were really good. for my entree i had the scallops stuffed with crab (how do you stuff a scallop? you don't) with asparagus and sweet potato waffle cut fries. the sweet potatoes were not waffle cut or fries. they were soggy slices of sweet potato's that were not very good. they gave me a lot of asparagus but it was cold and unevenly cooked. and unfortunately, although the scallops were tasty and cooked well, they were really cold. i would have sent it back except that we were a large group and i didn't want to hold everyone back. so i brought it home and i'm sure it will be better nuked in the microwave later tonight. the view is amazing and the food was ok. but they need to work on execution and service. if it wasn't for the fact that all their fish is sustainable and/or line caught, they might get 2 stars. i applaud there commitment to sustainability and look forward to them getting their act together in the kitchen. if i drop 34 bucks for my lunch entree, it better be awesome. and it wasn't.
