I used to love this place for breakfast, so after a long absence, husband and I went there for lunch a few weeks ago at an off-hour on Saturday. We both ordered the "8-ounce burgers", as we were craving a big, juicy burger like the ones we usually enjoy at Joe's American or Burton's Grill, served with fries. What a disappointment. First of all, our burgers were nowhere near 8 ounces - they were actually 6. Served on a serviceable bun, with a side of non-descript potato chips - a brand we'd never heard of, tasteless, flavorless, totally pathetic. I asked for Dijon mustard. Not available. A puddle of yellow mustard appeared after I'd eaten half my burger, at which time I called our servers' attention to the fact that our burgers were no where near 8 ounces. She seemed to shrug off the comment and walked away. When she came with our check I once again called her attention to the puniness of the alleged 8-ounce hamburger. whereupon she checked with chef, who verified that "the patties that came in were only 6 ounces instead of 8." Not only were we being served FROZEN pre-fab hamburger patties, but also 25% less than described on the menu, and no adjustment made. Sorry, this place just fell off my list for good. Bad food, indifferent service. I can do much better at home

The food here is awesome. I have had: -The Monster Pancake: I failed in my first attempt, but have since been able to conquer. -Omelettes: Really good, made with fresh vegetables -Soup: Again, really good. I recommend the Clam Chowder. -Veggie Wrap: Excellent save for the fact they forgot the hummus (the most important part) -Thanksgiving Sandwich: really fresh and tasty -Cornbread and muffins are great too The best thing they have is the Carrot Cake. I received a piece for my birthday and enjoyed it over two days at my apartment. My concern is that I always feel like I could turn around and break everything in the restaurant. I'm a bull in a china shop at the best of times and there is enough knick knacks and craftwork hanging on the wall to stop any grandmother in her tracks. I guess grannys like that stuff you know.

I love having breakfast here with my boyfriend late Saturday or Sunday morning. The food is delicious and well worth the wait. My favorite breakfast is the brown eyed Susan.

I love, love, strawberry fair. I remember going here as a little kid with my parents and eating the brown rolls and strawberry butter and delicious food. I hadn't been in probably more than 10 years and coming back as an adult, it was even better. My boyfriend ordered the guinness beef stew in a bread bowl and I had the sundried tomato ravioli ( a special, i think). we were both licking our plates at the end of the meal and didnt want to leave. The servers are always friendly and the service, while not incredibly speedy was plenty worth the wait and I actually like to have time to talk and enjoy the food and appetizers without feeling rushed. The atmosphere is much like a little country cottage with memorabilia all over the walls- its quaint and kitschy. All in all, this is a wonderful little restaurant with a great menu and I look forward to going back again soon.

Comfort food central... I grew up miles from this place and it has always delivered tasty fun comfort food. Sure it looks a bit funky with all their decor but the food is terrific. ++++

Super duper cute place to get breakfast or lunch.. and apparently they are open for dinner also. Close to the Derby Street Shops in Hingham this old farm house turned amazing (and a little kitchy weird) serves up fresh yummy food. The only downside is that this place is mad popular over the weekend and sometimes there is as much as a 30 min wait - but it is well worth it! Cornbread is usually pretty darn good and the strawberry-butter is good enough that I want to put it on EVERYTHING. Check this place out!

I really like Strawberry Fair. I don't go as often as I'd like, but the food is always well-cooked and the waitresses are personable. The restaurant is usually filled with an older crowd, but I'm in my 20s and still love going. It's like a trip to Grandma's, if she was obsessed with strawberries. They have strawberry decorations everywhere, and they even give a strawberry spread to go with the bread (which is delicious, by the way). I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch. Haven't had brunch there yet.

First and foremost the food is very good! I highly suggest going there simply for how good the food is; natural, local, fresh. The atmosphere is quaint and has a country esque setting. The only problem our party had was the service. The waitress was extremely rude. While waiting no more than 20 minutes for our 2 additional party members we were asked how much longer till they arrived as though we were wasting their time and causing problems. Mind you there were other tables that had 4 seats open right next to us. Upon their arrival the waitress had the audacity to say "oh you're the late couple" Unnecessary peanut gallery commentary. We are paying patrons there is no need to make such comments. She said a number of other things along those lines and I regret not asking her to cease talking. The hostess stared at our table the entire time we were there in annoyance. We were not loud or obnoxious, no need to stare. We were rushed to place our orders as soon as our additional party members arrived. When asking for my order which included a side of bread, I chose the cornbread. When receiving my order there was no bread. I kindly asked for my side and she remarked, "you don't get bread with that meal." I didn't even get a chance to respond before she was gone. She came back 10 minutes later with the cornbread and said, "luckily they had extra cornbread in the kitchen." As though I should be ecstatic for my complementary bread when it was supposed to be included with the meal regardless. We spent $175.00 on breakfast and tipped her the necessary %20 pushing it to over $200 (even though she was no where near deserving of it. I've worked in the retail, food, and other customer service industries since I began working at the age of 14. It doesn't take much to be a pleasant and courteous waitress. One of the neighboring tables were also complaining towards her lack of customer service. All in all great food but watch out for the hostess, and some of the waitresses. Perhaps it may take getting a poor tip for someone to realize their faults at work. If you can't handle it then don't work there, I'm sure there's a number of people that would be more than happy to take your position.

I love it here. I love the quirky, antique store decor, the strawberry butter and the delicious homecooked-style food. For brunch I had the most amazing steak and eggs, ever. For some reason, I find that women like it here much more than men do - my husband and dad won't go here with me. It is a great place to lunch with your friends! It is pretty family friendly too but the acoustics might make for echos if your kids are loud (like mine). I do wish they were open more hours.

I've been to Strawberry Fair a few times, and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is rich in flavor and tastes so home-made that you'd imagine an apron-clad grandmother is in the kitchen making everything herself. This restaurant serves well thought-out unpretentious dishes at fair prices, and it epitomizes what so many mom-and-pop restaurants out there ought to be. The only thing that's disappointing about Strawberry Fair is that it closes so early (8:30pm) for dinner on weekends.

So much junk with the decor!!!! Food good. Service good. Value not so good. Menu limited. Parking not so good.

I go here often and really enjoy the quality of the food. The only real downside of the breakfast menu is that it's somewhat limited. Everything that comes out is very quality however sometimes the waitresses forget about you and leave you waiting for a check for a while. I still really like it there and continue to frequently eat breakfast here.

this place use to be fabulous. But they started cutting corners and hiking up the prices, every now and then I go back in hopes it will return to it's former glory...but sadly it is crappy food, and way overpriced. As I read through all the rave reviews...... I can to the conclusion, these people work there, or have family working there! I'll pass, until the cheapskate owner gets her head out of her butt and realizes she is not fooling anyone!

I've been coming to this place since I was a kid. Any time I'm back home I make it a point to come here. The food is great. Classic New England home style favorites like meat loaf and shepherds pie. The restaurant itself is adorable. Lots of antiques and cool stuff on the walls. You should go here. You won't be disappointed.

First time here in a long time. Used to be a go-to place, but is 20 min away for me and tough to justify as a last minute breakfast jaunt with two kids. Despite that, had a good memory of the place and the family took the time to drive down for some homemade fixins. We were not greeted. In and of itself that's ok, but then we waited 10-minutes. It's a small place but it was about 1/3 full. The hostess/owner (I think) materialized and insisted on providing my 4-year old a booster. We explained she doesn't use them, but there we were. And then she hit the ground. Ok, upset kid is not insurmountable. Let's get to the food! No kids menu anymore. Ok, improvise. Let's do just a small order or pancakes and side of sausage links. $17 somehow? She's 4. You know the one on the ground? Wasn't like there was confusion and someone other than the 28-pounder was going to be doing the consuming. I had the hash, and wish I didn't. Wife had a waffle and it was pretty over cooked. Bill $50. Lackluster service. Had a good memory going in...

What a nice find! Incredible fresh breakfast. We had to come back a second time before we left from our weekend stay in the area. Friendly staff, fantastic service. We told all of our friends and family in the area about this place.

Oh, Strawberry Fair how I love you so. There is not one other breakfast joint I've frequented more than this quaint little place in the middle of Queen Ann's Corner. After navigating the puzzle that is their parking lot, you duck inside this little house full of all things strawberry (and doily). It's something straight out of your grandmother's house. I've gone here many, many times for breakfast and lunch. Hands down, my favorite meal on the menu is probably the New England Breakfast. You get everything: eggs any way you like 'em, red potato home fries, choice of meat, the sweetest, yet most savory baked beans served in a mason jar, and a thick slice of their homemade cornbread (which comes with most breakfasts). It is worth coming to this place for the cornbread alone. No one makes it like they do. It must be fried in butter or something on the griddle. They also serve it with their homemade strawberry jam. Everything about that jam, the texture, the sweetness, the consistency...Let's just stop there. Runner up: The Breakfast Casserole (sub the fresh fruit for cornbread) The service is also great. They make you feel like you're a regular there no matter how many times you've been (or maybe I've just been too many times). You really gotta just check it out for yourself. Trust me, you will not be disapointed.

Wonderful breakfast!!! Great corn beef hash, cornbread with homemade strawberry jam to die for. Husband had sirloin tips and eggs. Loved them!! Big portions. Great service. Awesome strawberry jam -- homemade!! We bought 3 jars to take home.

This place has good food and a cute atmosphere. My issues are I have that are negative first- are the owners and employees. My husband and I thought about having our wedding party here when it normally would be closed and spike to owner. We agreed that IF they could do it , for a hefty sum mind you- she would call us. She also made a comment " jokingly" how she should have said more $$$. Rude. And, never called us. My Mother had her credit card run " by accident" 3 extra times- charges being 800$ right before a vacation. Took months to sort out. Honestly, spend your money elsewhere.

Updating my review to five stars. Had a a awesome experience today and would say it all depends on what time of day you dine here. Went at 9am and at such a pleasant experience, great service and awesome breakfast!

Cute brunch/lunch place in an old house. Took a bit to get seated but not too long. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich - it was pretty good and reminded me of a typical deli sandwich. I had the French toast. It was pretty good too but I thought it was dipped in way too much egg. Not a bad place for brunch but I didn't think it was the best thing ever.

"Make sure you have breakfast at Strawberry Fair. They have great pancakes" proclaimed some acquaintances as I told them of my desire to visit Cape Cod. It's pretty difficult to stray from suggestions of those who've lived in the area all their lives. Perhaps in the future, I'll have to just nod and say 'thanks for the recommendation', with no actual intent on visiting these spots. My finely tuned palate tends to be more discriminant than my peers. Arriving at Strawberry Fair was a bit of an obstacle as parking was a major dilemma due to the popularity of this restaurant among locals. The only available parking was found across the street where TJ Maxx is located. We were greeted hospitably and were seated immediately at one of the few vacant tables. Our waitress patiently took our order as so many items looked appealing on Strawberry Fair's breakfast menu. My confusion led me to ask for a recommendation. I mentioned to our waitress that I was a big eater and she recommended I try Maeve's Monster Pancake. I didn't think that was going to satisfy my hunger but she asserted that pancake was going to do me in. So...I ordered it with extra crispy bacon and a cup of coffee. Maeve's Monster Pancake ($9.00 with bacon or sausage): 2/5 For the record, Maeve's Monster Pancake isn't so intimidating. It's only a skillet sized, single pancake that is roughly a half inch in thickness. I've been to The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood, CA many times and have consumed half of an order of their pancakes that come with a triple stack. (see photo of my friend and The Griddle Cafe's pancakes here: yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… ) This pancake was dry and whoever mixed the batter did not mix it enough. Most bites were powdery. And we haven't even begun discussing those tart strawberries. Finally, asking for crispy bacon only to have slightly rubbery strips served on your plate can leave you a little less elated. Coffee ($2.50): 1.5/5 If you want to see how good coffee is at any given restaurant, may I suggest you try it black first? It's best to practice this so you don't have to rely on additives. This coffee was severely bitter and very harsh. It was so bad that no amount of cream and sugar could not rectify! When it was all said and done, I did not finish my pancake and left hungry. So much for friend recommendations.

I came here for breakfast with my mother and fiance, my mom really wanted to check this place out. The parking lot is so tiny and jammed! If you drive anything other than a smart car, good luck finding a spot, and if you pull in the parking lot is full, also good luck turning around! There's a sign that tells you not to park anywhere else (aka across the street) because you will get towed!!! We walked in and the hostess said the wait would be about 20-30 minutes........45 minutes later we were seated. The food was OK. Nothing to write home about. Home-fries were good, eggs were good, fruit salad was good. Nothing above average for a 45 minute wait. I'd had better breakfast that I've cooked myself at home. The decor is cute, but a bit over the top. You can even buy some of the hand painted jars and such, but they're expensive!! The building isn't wide open, it has all these nooks and crannies so when waiting for a table you are moving every 5 minutes because you're in someone's way! My fiance is a big guy (6'3") and he had NO room to move in this place when it was so crowded! I know he will never want to go back there. Don't blame him!

I kind of love me some Strawberry Fair! I went here for dinner and loved the atmosphere so much that I worked here as a waitress for a hot second in the early 00s! It's quaint. If you're the kind of person who likes going to Nana's for lunch, go here. Order the clam chowder, strawberry salad and ANY dessert. They're all handmade on site. Most people are reviewing this place for breakfast, but I always preferred it for lunch and dinner. It's not exactly cheap and the food isn't really five star, but the ambiance is part of the price in my opinion. I don't think I ever ate anything I didn't like and working there, I tried most things! Thanksgiving Sammie is awesome, too! I think brunch here on the weekends us overrated and crowded as all get out. I'd avoid and do lunch on a weekday!

Delightful experience! The ambiance is warm and cozy, with a beautiful wisteria vine in the outdoor dining area. The strawberry salad is luscious and the pot roast dinner is great! I felt like I went back in time with the doilies and lace curtains! A nice escape from chain restaurants. Don't miss this gem.

Decor was overwhelming. I totally get committing to a theme but while I am a fan of quaint, I'm not a fan of clutter. Food was pretty good but expensive... breakfast for 2 for $50? Maybe it's priced so because of the area or maybe it shouldn't matter since you will be able to say you had breakfast at "Strawberry Fair". At any rate, I can have a breakfast for less that is equally good or a breakfast that is superior for the same amount.I prefer a little more logical and a little less Emperor in his new clothes. The one standout? Their delicious strawberry jam.

Just when I thought Cracker Barrel cornered the "kitsch overload" market, this little juicy berry burst into my breakfast universe. There are jobs in the Keebler universe. Specific areas of focus and teams dedicated to those tasks purposed to do one thing, and one thing well. There's the EL Fudge team (they been slippin), the Pecan Sandies (own the elderly) and the Fudge Stripers (proned to take over s'more construction as we know it). It's what they do; it's all they do. That's the deal with Strawberry Fair. If strawberry paraphernalia were Pez dispensers, this place would be my house. There are strawberry pens, strawberry magnets, strawberry syrups and jams and, oh damn, there are actual strawberries growing in pots. Please don't pick the awesome. Menu is suprisingly ho-hum, but with a few twists. Pancakes aren't just pancakes - they're Maeve's Monster Pancakes! French toast comes courtesy of Queen Anne, and my house-made Cornbeef (sic) Hash was... sold out. Ain't that just seeds in my teeth! The daily frittata with chicken sausage, spinach and tomatoes fit the bill. Free refills on soda, sipped from handled Mason jars. Quaint! Plates run $7-11, and most get the lovely treatment of a cakey, kinda sweet and thickly sliced cornbread with strawberry jam on the side. Look for the wall featuring artwork by the owner's mother, and consider taking home an entire cake from the display case near the merch table. But don't pick the strawberries.

My wife and i were driving around Norwell to find somwhere to have breakfast. We found Strawberry Fair Restaurant. It was really difficult to get parking. They were quite busy but we were be able to get a table after 10 minutes wait. Actually, this turned out well because they have very interesting interior design with many vintage items, all of them strawberry-themed. After 10 minutes we got our table. I ordered Eggs and Tips, my wife ordered Patty McMelt. We waited for food to arrive for 20 min. My steak was delicious and very well marinated, only problem it was a little bit over cooked. My wife liked the meatloaf sandwich but she said it was not any better than an average meatloaf. I think it was over priced for what we received. Overall, it is a good place to visit.

So yummy!!! Best breakfast spot in the area... everything is home made. The bread... TO DIE FOR! I crave the white bread only down side is they don't sell the loaves :( although they do sell the corn bread, which is good to!

Had a great time. It feels like an English tea house. With a menu that is eclectic you can have a veggie garden plate to a pancakes fit for a giant

Unfortunately, what stood out more than the food was how cramped and crowded this place gets. I guess crowds are good, but I think it's more an atmosphere thing that people return. We found the food exceedingly average. Everything was just okay. The corned beef hash was canned. The waitress disappeared for coffee refills. The parking lot is one lane in or out. It's a decent spot for breakfast, don't get me wrong, but it's not going to wow you, or surprise you.

Cozy and nice New England atmosphere. Bob Seger Album playing. Eggs Benedict were below average and the corned beef may have been canned. I recommend carb based products: pancakes, French toast, etc.. Coffee was good and unlimited

I've visited Strawberry Fair a few times over the last year. The food is delicious and the menu includes many interesting items (i.e. creme brulee french toast) as well as unique specials. I had the Cornbread French Toast during one visit which was rich and yummy. All of the food I have had is so fresh and well prepared The atmosphere is just charming! The only reason I did not give this restaurant five stars is because the service I have received was a little inconsistent. Nothing to complain about, but the layout of the restaurant in a slower day can leave you feeling like you may be alone in your little 'nook' and can wait a bit for the check. It is still one of my favorite, most unique breakfast spots in the area.

Our Strawberry Fair experience was a mixed bag. The kitschy ambiance is a winner, edging this historic barn-turned-cafe into a 4th star. If you have guests in town looking for quaint, quintessential New England homestyle dining, you really have a forerunner in Strawberry Fair. Little nooks and crannies have been turned into booths and table areas with antique furniture and creative vintage decor. Cute, lovely, charming. As to the food - which is why we're here today - we can confirm other reviews that the Creme Brulee French Toast was excellent. It is NOT a typical French Toast, however, it is more of a five-inch-square bread pudding on a plate. Do not expect four slices of texas toast or you may be disappointed. It was a small portion, but the creamy accompaniment made it a worthy cost splurge. Both the strawberry and the chocolate chip "skillet" pancakes were $10 EACH. Pancake insanity! They were sadly dry for all flapjack fanatics at the table. It is a thicker and larger (about 9" around) cake, per the skillet - but so dry and untasty it was a major disappointment at a breakfast cafe. The breakfast casserole was also a much smaller portion for the price. This egg, potato, sausage, onion combo was tasty enough but was more of a quiche. My manly man dad was not fooled, and traded this for mom's scrambled eggs. This was a very pricey brekkie overall, with extremely slow and rather inattentive service. Most of the food was disappointing on this crowded Saturday morning, yet the creme brulee french toast specialty and the star-spangled folksy Americana atmosphere will earn our consideration for future guests visiting the south shore.

I've been here several times over the past 20 years and always had a good experience. Recently enjoyed a lovely lunch here with a friend. Thanks to the waitress for giving me a sample of the Guinness Beef Stew before I committed to it. It was delicious so I ordered it. Came with a cornbread side and homemade strawberry jam...yum! I was pleased it didn't seem salted so I could salt to my taste. My friend loved her Reuben sandwich. We will be back!

This place is great, the strawberry decor inside is cute. The service has always been friendly, I've never had to wait longer than 5mins for a table. Love the breakfast pizza and the cornbread is delicious!!! My one complaint is that they do not open for dinner(hence the four stars)

Driven by this place everyday to work but finally stopped today. I can't believe I've never stopped before! This is the cutest and homiest breakfast place ever. The inside reminds me of my grandmas house. The food is almost as good. I had the broccoli omelette which was fluffy and had a great filling to egg ratio. It came with homemade cornbread that was moist and melted in your mouth and with that was a homemade strawberry jam. Now I hate strawberries and I loved this jam, that's how good it was. When we ordered tea I was wondering why it was so expensive but when they brought us an actual teapot I understood! Absolutely adorable. Staff is all more than friendly and will get you anything you need. The only reason I did not give five stars is because of the high prices, nothing cheaper than $9 and the parking lot is tiny.

Strawberry Fair is probably one of the cutest little places you can have breakfast. It's like walking in to an old lady's home (literally) and having her cook for you. I had been here once before a few years ago but on my most recent trip with a friend I was reminded of how great the food and service are. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive with coffee refills etc. I had a pumpkin bread French Toast which was extremely tasty but not too filling. My friend got their giant pancake, which definitely lived up to the name was giant. If you're looking for a place that has a legitimate hometown feel for breakfast, Strawberry Fair is probably your best bet on the South Shore.

I like to consider myself a bit of a breakfast connoisseur. It is my favorite to go out for and today, The Strawberry Fair stole my heart as my favorite place to go to breakfast. It is very cute and homey when you walk in, the waitresses are all very friendly. They have nice lavender growing outside, run your hand through it and smell it as a bonus to your relaxing meal. I got the New England breakfast this morning, eggs over medium. It was done perfectly. The baked beans were delicious! Just right sweetness. Their cornbread is homemade, and you can definitely tell the difference! So fresh and moist. The homemade strawberry jam is the best I've ever had. We took home what was leftover :) Couldn't pass up trying the corn bread French toast, me and my boyfriend split a piece. He got the corned beef hash, and they executed it quite well. Wish I could eat it all over again. Can't wait to go back! Go try this place. You will not be disappointed

We first came here more than 2 years ago for breakfast. It was good then. Made our way to the restaurant today for lunch. I had the ravioli with goat cheese in a white wine cream sauce with sauteed spinach, cherry tomatoes and parmesan cheese. Now, I am not a big eater but really for $11 and all I got was 4 (2-by-2 inch) raviolis??? Very steep for the price if you ask me. My hubby got the turkey dinner with all the fixings and it was a huge plate for $16. But then again, do I really want to spend $16 for a weekday lunch? I don't care too much for the raviolis, had better. The sauce that came with it was just bland and watery. They were not even busy since we got there really early for lunch. The turkey dinner was your usual new england style dinner fare, it was okay but not memorable. Will stick with their breakfast offerings if I am ever going back. The saving grace is that our server, Carol, was really nice and friendly. I left her a good tip even though the food was sub-par.

We really enjoyed this place. Super cute country feel and very good wait staff. Portions are large and inexpensive. Wife loved the French toast (huge amount) but I thought the breakfast casserole was good not great. Fruit cup is fresh and delicious. Little wait at 9 am on Saturday.

If the service was better, my review would be 5 stars. Seriously - every time I've gone here, the service has gotten progressively worse. Some are just flat out not interested in giving a smile or anything. The food is great though.

This is easily one of the best breakfast places in the South Shore area. Everything is extremely fresh, especially their homemade strawberry jam. This isn't the type of place that throws garbage like Wonder bread and powdered eggs at you, either. So if that's what you're looking for, don't even bother. Every aspect of the breakfast is on point. This is probably the closest place in the general area that could even rival Amber Road Café in Canton, but the vibe is completely different. Couldn't be further apart. Amber Road has more of a modernized hipster feel to it, where Strawberry Fair is a wood-panelled establishment with decor that resembles every yard sale you've ever been to. I got dropped eggs over salmon cakes, which came with bakery quality wheat toast, fresh jam, baked beans and a side of home fries. I ate at about 8:30am and I'm still feelin' decent. If I had McDonald's breakfast, I'd be hungry again as soon as I ripped a fart. And the fart would be disgusting! I would definitely go back here. You pay a little bit more here than you would anywhere else, but honestly, it's for a good reason. I have no qualms with paying good money for a good product. This place is great! Oh, and I guess they serve alcohol at this place, too. How awesome is THAT? I'm kicking myself in the ass for not getting drunk!

I absolutely love the charm of Strawberry Fair. The decor is reminiscent of your grandmother's attic...if she's a hoarder. There are newspaper articles from the 1900's adorning the walls. For some bizarre reason, I find it quaint and adorable-which most likely begins my journey into cat-lady status. Devastating. I've only been here for lunch. I've had a few different sandwiches, and while none of them were incredibly special, I still returned to Strawberry Fair. The French onion soup, however, is amazing. I have literally never had better. It arrives to the table in a tiny brown crock covered in cheese. Just like your crazy hoarder grandmother would serve. So. Good. I think I love this place so much because it is so different from many local restaurants. It is so cozy. The breakfast reviews look solid, so I'll definitely need to stop by earlier than usual.

This is a tough one. I have read all the Yelp reviews about SFR and while it is truly cutesy wootsy inside the food is still ok with above higher than normal breakfast pricing. The pricing on their web page is wrong. I hate when places don't update their webpage and find it disingenuous when they have lower pricing online and not on their menu. I had the Monte Cristo which was just ok. NOT what most places do for a monte (turkey, ham and swiss) this was with none of that but bacon and american cheese. 2 stars, I've experienced better. Staff was great, didn't wait long for a Sunday and it was a cute place but I'll keep looking for breakfast somewhere else next time.

My dad loves this place for breakfast. They have some sort of egg/strata type of dish that is like a breakfast lasagna layered with potatoes and things. I forget what it's called but he adores it. I usually have some sort of veggie omelette with home fries and toast (because I'm predictable and boring before I've had my coffee) and my mom gets waffles. The breakfast potatoes are really good and the service is pretty great here. It's sickeningly adorable inside here too. Think of every piece of country kitchen kitsch you've ever seen in your entire life. They have it here. In fact, they have it all in the one little nook where your breakfast table is - and it's replicated throughout the entire place. For breakfast, I'd give it 4 stars, but lunch is solidly mediocre.

The food here is unreal. I tried the special "Banana corn bread french toast" and it was amazing! The omelettes are also great. The atmosphere is really cute- my only complaint is that the service is kindof slow, but that's probably because its so popular they're serving a lot of people at once. All around great place though, and I would say easily the best breakfast on the south shore.

Strawberry Fair is like home away from home. There are always families eating here and YES the majority of the time, it's packed. The wait can be a drag when it is out the door and you are waiting in narrow areas, but it is always worth it. I have personally found the service to be great. The waitresses are constantly moving... maybe too fast sometimes. The food comes out within a reasonable amount of time. I usually get the Creme Brulee French Toast which I HIGHLY recommend. Overall, I give Strawberry Fair an 8 out of 10. It is above adequate food that is served quick and is very reasonably priced. The price is reasonable for the area its located in; should the Strawberry Fair sit elsewhere, the prices would be just a bit high.

I love coming here! Its got that quirky girlie country feel to it... perfect place to go for a unique breakfast and not feel like you're in a chain restaurant or greasy spoon diner. I agree with some of the Yelpers, its a little more pricey but who cares its worth it. I have only come for breakfast because I think that's what they're known for. Anyway, they do have some oddities on the menu but you might like that. For example, you can get a side of baked beans with your breakfast and corn bread instead of wheat. I stick with the basics and I've always had a great meal here leaving stuffed with only minor heart palpitations. Did I mention they make their own home made jam here and it goes great with their huge slabs of toast!

Went here for the first time a few months ago (this review never stuck before, sorry!) with one other person. We both enjoyed our food, I got the eggs and hash and he got the tips and eggs. Food was warm when it came out and didn't take too long after we ordered and given it was a busy time (around noon on Sunday) overall we were happy. A bit of a drive for us but we will certainly visit again! Having a bar with mimosas is always a plus, and the homemade strawberry jam is a must!

I'm not from the area, but every time I visit my best friend in Hanover we make it a point to come here for breakfast. There is always a wait, which is a pain, but essentially a good sign, and it's ALWAYS worth it. The food here is both delicious AND delightful all wrapped up in a strawberry pancake. Their pancakes are literally the size of the skillet and can serve probably four people a rational portion. I sampled some eggs florentine with garlic and herbs on a bed of shredded potatoes and it was delicious...I can hardly wait for my next trip so I can have it all to myself. I've had omelets, eggs, waffles, pancakes, almost everything on the menu (without meat) and it has ALL been great. Service is good, coffee is excellent. After seeing the menu, we decided to do dinner here next time. They look like they offer some really great entrees and cocktails! Ambiance is charming and reminds me of something you would find in a beach resort town.

Great food,,great venue. I took my sister here for brunch who was visiting from California. The homemade bread and strawberry butter won her over. The food was fantastic..,great flavor, great presentation. Have yet to go for lunch or dinner, but this place is definitely my place for brunch.

All the other reviews are right. This place is charming and the food is really good. But, it is pricy. There is an interesting menu of items I do not typically see. I got the guinness stew which was very good. We had omelet, sandwich and the stew and all was very good. I will probably go back there when I am in the neighborhood in spite of the price because it is a unique kind of place.

STRAWBERRY OVERLOAD! This place is beyond cute! and the food & service was excellent. It is very home-y, cozy and everything strawberry. From the exterior & interior decors, to all the nit-naks lying around. No two tables are the same and the chairs do not match the tables. However, the chairs do match all others at the table. We got here late and was bummed that we just missed the breakfast menu. But their lunch items are delicious! The waitress was really nice and friendly. She brought over a warm loaf of bread with, you guessed it...Strawberry Butter! The Strawberry butter was really good and it looked just like strawberry ice cream. It had the perfect hint of strawberry sweetness mixed into the butter. We started with the stuffed portabella mushroom and it was so good! It was stuffed with fresh veggies (peppers, onions & tomatoes) topped with swiss, cheddar & goat cheese and panko. I ordered the veggie melt for an entree and my friend had the shepherd's pie. Both entrees were delicious. My veggie melt had a lot of fresh veggie served on top of pita bread and topped with cheese. It was like a veggie pizza. I loved all the fresh veggies but wished it had a little bit more sauce. My friend absolutely loved the shepherd's pie. It was served in a giant coffee mug. It is very hearty; the perfect winter meal. We finished the meal with a strawberry shortcake with ice cream and it was yummy. I cannot wait to try their breakfast menu!

A group of 10 of us had breakfast/brunch here at their Hanover location on Sunday. The restaurant itself is very quaint with adorable farmhouse-style knick-knacks adorning the walls. The menu is moderately priced, but well worth every penny. It's a family owned restaurant, and most/all ingredients are fresh and local. The only thing that wasn't so great was the parking situation... it's a small parking lot and a very tight squeeze - which makes it difficult for most vehicles to maneuver (I witnessed at least one 20 point turn). After we miraculously got a parking spot, we sat down for brunch. All ten of us could not stop raving about how delicious the food was. The fruit was fresh, and their baked goods are home-made. They also had great breakfast drinks! I ordered the creamy Irish coffee, and my sister in law had the Russian coffee - and there were still another 8-10 drinks on the menu! I mean really, who doesn't love options? I had the eggs benedict, and my husband had the cornbread french toast...nom nom nom. Although it's a bit of a drive, we will definitely be back!

3.5 stars I have been eying this cute and cozy restaurant for awhile now. My mom and I came here for Saturday brunch, and we commented on the homey atmosphere and the cutesy decor. The service was fine, and the food was fresh. My mom had the New England Breakfast ($10) with two sunny eggs, bacon, homefries, beans, and cornbread with house-made strawberry jam. I had the Raisin Bread French Toast with bacon. I loved the chewy bacon, but my mom likes it crispier. She loved her cornbread, and I loved the texture and flavor of my French toast-- I hate it when it is too dense and too egg-y. I thought her homefries lacked some seasoning, but overall brunch was great. I'd like to return to try their Guinness stew or pumpkin soup.

Well nice atmosphere but they need to work on the food. i ordered the meatloaf sandwich and i could have sworn they gave me a slab of stuffing. WHERES THE BEEF? Too pricey for the workingmans lunch. will avoid unless my boss buys lunch.

I want to live there! Haha I got the homemade corned beef hash my co workers got the corn bread French toast and an omelette. Absolutely adorable breakfast/lunch spot in Norwell... and every time I've been prior to our most recent visit in July, it's been good, but never anything really special. I've always heard such rave reviews about Strawberry Fair, but I think I must be missing something. The place itself is charming and quaint. And a little claustrophobia-inducing if, like me, you enjoy being able to push your chair out from the table without hitting someone. They really do cram as many tables as they possibly can in these tiny rooms! But really, that's not a biggie, and it is an adorable spot. We stopped here for lunch on a Saturday, mid-summer. I was STARVING. The menu always looks impressively tasty, and I finally decided on the lobster salad on a croissant, with a cup of clam chowder. From the freezer burned-tasting croissant (which wasn't even toasted!), to the stale, rubbery lobster salad, I was so disappointed. And kinda mad. At $22, I expect a damned good lobster roll. (The chowder was good, though.). It's the first time in recent years I actually sent a meal back. To top it off, when I looked at the bill, they charged us an astronomical $7 for a "kid's meal", which consisted of four tasteless chicken fingers, and a bag of chips. Are ya kiddin' me? With all of the positive reviews by previous Yelpers, I KNOW I must be going on "off" days, but with so many good restaurants in the area, I can't say we'll be back here anytime soon. So sad, Strawberry Fair. :o(

This is a long time family run restaurant. The food is really good. The Strawberry butter is awesome to put on the fresh bread they give you. The price is very reasonable. Every meal here has always been excellent.

Atmosphere nice and cozy. However...It took about 45 minutes to get our food. The place was not busy. The food was okay - not bad, not great - I would rate it below average for breakfast. 2 pieces of under-cooked bacon with the "Hearty Breakfast"?? I had to wait 15 minutes after finishing for the waitress to bring the bill.,...she never came. I had to have the bus boy track her down. When the bill came I had a Groupon that expired, but it clearly stated that although expired you could still use the face value of the amount spent ($12 - It was originally for $25). The waitress said they could not take it. I talked to the owner and showed her the fine print which states clearly that the the coupon is still good for face value. she said she too bad and told me to take it up with groupon - not her problem. I said fine and just wanted to get out of there - I heard her mumble under her breathe as I turned around that she didn't have time to deal with my coupon to another customer. It was embarrassing and I will never, never go back there. Not just because of the groupon, but the attitude, disrespect, and bad service.

Can't really add much to the other positive reviews except to say they have a few outdoor tables (out back near the parking lot though) now. The food is awesome - I had the Breakfast Casserole this past weekend - shredded pototo with ham, egg, to die for! My wife had the Black Eyed Susie - brown bread with poached eggs - she loved it but I could tell she wanted mine! If you are heading down the Cape this summer on either Saturday or Sunday morning check it out - right off exit 14 on RT3 across from Queen Anne's Plaza - it comes up quick so keep an eye out for it.

I remember driving past this place and thinking - MY GOD THIS PLACE LOOKS ADORABLE. Then I am told that it's one of those kitschy restaurants that have all kinds of crap inside only because they are covered in strawberries. .... OMFG .... So I go. Kitschy isn't even a good enough word for the clusterfuck of strawberry paraphernalia in this place. They're everywhere, you turn to the right, it's a tea set of strawberries, you turn to the left, it's a strawberry cookie jar. In front of you, it's strawberry tablecloths. Jeez, they really weren't kidding about Strawberry Far. I get the Eggs Benedict. Boo-Boo gets the Tips & Eggs. My Benedict was good, but not the best. Boo-Boo enjoyed his Tips & Eggs, but was quick to say that he had had better. The coffee, like at most breakfast places, was mediocre. Love that the glass for juice was one of those crazy, Texas country jugs. I must say that the cute, white shack does look out of place in the gray, dreary streets of Norwell, across the street from TJ Maxx and behind a Chilis or some tire place. WTF? All in all, it was a great experience. The food was good, but not worth writing home to. I feel like this place is more about the kitsch factor.

I have been going to Strawberry Fair since I was a kid. Everything about this place - from the food to the decor to the waitstaff to the mason jar mugs (see picture!) - comforts me. The food is all fresh, made with care, and has a homestyle comfort food feel. I can't even single out any dish because literally everything I've had here is terrific - breakfast, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, etc. Just do yourself a favor, leave the city for a night and drive to Norwell to experience this quaint South Shore wonderland.

It was the first visit for my son and I and my husband hadn't been in 12+ years. It's cozy and comfortable - I'd never want all those decorations in my house but it works really well here. My husband and I both ordered specials - the breakfast casserole (eggs/ham/hash brown/cheddar cheese) and the breakfast sandwich on grilled naan w/eggs, tomatoes and pepperjack cheese. My son ordered strawberry pancakes. The food was great, although my sandwich didn't have the tomato on it but it was still yummy. I can't wait to go back soon!

I'd been wanting to go here for a long time, because of the great reiews on all the sites I check. Wow-what a disappointment. The service was bad. The food was about a 3 out of 10. Unfortunately, I waited until I had an out-of-town guest and drove 20 minutes to get here. Will NOT be going back.

seems like a big time breakfast spot, is open for dinner a couple of nights a week, we had lunch there.....looks like an old home with a lot of little rooms added on over the years, lot s of little knick nacks ( some looked like christmas tree shop) scattered around, food was pretty good, bar limited, sort of a (hate to say this) girly place, at one point there were probably 11 women in the room, and me......nice, wife liked it sooooooo.

The cutest little breakfast nook on the South Shore! Everything from the cozy atmosphere to their extensive menu is above par. Whether you are in the mood for eggs or a fluffy french toast, believe me, you will not be disappointed. The last time I went was with my college roomate. We took a look at the brunch specials and couldn't pick what we wanted, so we decided to split two: the blueberry monster pancake and the creme brulee french toast. Both were delicious! My all-time favorite item on the menu has to be their eggs florentine - it will never fail you if you are looking to satisfy your savory tooth. If this rating was based on the food alone, I would give it 5 stars. But the tiny, almost nonexistent parking lot and some bad experiences with service cause me to only give it 3. Definitely not the place to bring your SUV or go with a large group of people. All in all though, I typically leave here happy!

You make my life so sweet, literally. AWESOME BREAKFAST!!! 2 Thumbs up! I'd give it more thumbs if I had some more... There were 6 of us, 3 couples heading down to the Cape to stay overnight. We left early on a Saturday morning and were just SO hungry, so my boyfriend used his GPS to search for restaurants and we came around Strawberry Fair at the next exit. So we pull up to a small yellowish house, then you walk into a place FILLED with knick knacks, antiques, and all things STRAWBERRY! Any little thing you could find with a strawberry on it was in this restaurant. None of the tables look the same, its like they pulled dinner tables out of a bunch of homes from the 1950's. They even made old sewing tables into dinner tables. And did I mentioned this is a house, so you sit in what may have been the living room a bedroom or possibly even a closet, they got creative with the seating arrangements. We were seated and were each given a glass of water with our menus (great service). They sat us by the big windows which was alongside the drive-way entrance... what was interesting was, on the opposite side of the driveway was a SMALL grassy area, with a little dog house and a black mutt lying beside it. He was the highlight of our meal, that little guy kept us entertained running back and forth on his small chain, chasing and barking anything that walked by, other than that he laid there in sadness and we just awed. The 6 of us each got something different to eat, ALL were VERY VERY great meals. For drinks, most people got the coffee on the side of their breakfast I got their famous Strawberry drink, I forget if it was tea or lemonade but it was SO good, absolutely was homemade (Just needed sugar). The cheapest plate was about $9 but I'm telling you its worth every nickel and dime. This cute little place sells jars of jelly, syrup, candles even christmas tree ornaments. Too cute. This place was SO good that we returned for breakfast on our ride home the next morning. PS - forgot to mention they make their own strawberry jam, it is SO good!

Are you familiar with the theories of breakfast? Well you should be. Breakfast as the start of your day...... Breakfast as "that stupid thing I have to do that always makes me late......." And most importantly, Breakfast as candy. If you subscribe to the latter, then Strawberry Fair awaits as your mecca. Corn bread french toast! Eggs benedict served on Brown Bread French Toast! It's just plain naughty. Yeah, they have your eggs, sausage (which are enormous), monster pancakes (watch out, they bite), and other standards. But go for Corn Bread French toast and ride that sugar high train into Strawberry-ville. It's an alternate universe akin to Willie Wonka..... only its with strawberries....... and its in Norwell. Alas, I didn't see any Umpa Lumpas, just grannies getting their sugar fix.

I love the Strawberry Fair! If you're looking for a place that has that quaint country feel with great fresh food, this is definitely the place. I love to come here for breakfast with a friend and I instantly feel like I'm somewhere else. It can get quite busy/loud on Sunday, that's my only complaint. Be prepared for a wait, but it's well worth it.

Buyer beware, if you're a groupon customer!! Arrived on Sunday, Nov 27th, last day of the Groupon to find a sign outside the door saying that the Groupon would not be able to be used since there is an additional Sunday restriction which I hadn't noticed in the fine print. The sign said it would be honored on that following Wednesday, Nov 30th, due to the confusion with the printed expiration date on the Groupon. Well, my family stayed for breakfast anyway on Sunday, $60, yikes! I returned Wednesday for lunch with my sister only to be told at the presentation of the bill that the Groupon could not be honored, no ifs, ands or buts. No sign out front with the warning like on the Sunday, nothing! Just told, sorry nothing we can do and the owner isn't here. Paid my $35 and vowed never to give them my business again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!

My gf lives in Hull and this place is an absolute must for us to visit for at least one weekly breakfast/brunch trip. The staff is always extremely friendly and the food is freaking amazing. Yea the decor is intense but so what? That's what this place plays up to. It's an old house converted to a little restaurant. If that doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy then do even go. The portions are amazing, especially for the price. I had a giant piece of french toast w/ sausage for like $9 or $10. My favorite thing is the always changing cornbread french toast. It was pumpkin a couple months ago and I completely devoured it. Pumpkin french toast made from cornbread!!!!!! I mean, how can you not like that? They have healthy options, which is cool in this day and age. It's not a good idea to bring your screaming kids but ppl do it anyway. Maybe make sure they're pretty disciplined before you take them out into public places that are small so it doesn't interfere w/ others' dining experiences. Anyway, this place is awesome. The food is great and so is the coffee. They have amazing looking desserts but I'm always too stuffed when I'm done.

Covered with the most nick-nacks I've ever seen, I felt like I wanted to just explore every inch of this place! I loved the mismatched tables: some were old sewing machine tables, others were plucked from the 50's, and some were red and tan leather from the 70's. The service was wonderful and the food was great. I had the Milano Grilled Sandwich (for just $9!!) - grilled chicken served on delicious focaccia bread, with fresh basil, lettuce, tomato, onions, harvard dill cheese and a dried tomato pesto sauce (which made the sandwich for me!). Yum! I also loved how the drinks are served: in mason jars. Nothing says home style cooking with a dedication to taste more than Strawberry Fair! I will update once I try their breakfast :) I can't wait to try their Strawberry Iced Tea (which is not quite in season yet).

This is my favorite breakfast spot to hit on the South Shore. It's a cozy cute place and the food is always great. It has a quaint country feel filled with antiques and charm. Every dish I've ever ordered is delicious and hearty (menu includes corn bread and baked beans, fresh strawberry jam, etc). They have a bar too so you can have a bloody mary or mimosa to jump start your morning. If ever I have a visitor to take out for breakfast I love showing this place off. This is a definite place to make your way to. You can even get a friendly greeting from the dog who resides there sometime.

Summary: Great local breakfast restaurant with a slightly different take on things. More: The menu includes both Breakfast and Lunch (and Dinner) items, though we've stuck squarely to the breakfast items in the three times we've been there. Everything is made fresh in the restaurant, and while it takes a bit longer than your standard short order Breakfast place, you can tell that care is taken in preparing each dish when you see and eat the meals. One of our friends loves homemade corn beef hash. It is (apparently) hard to get it not from a can anywhere locally. Strawberry Fair has it. He swooned. The New England Breakfast comes with baked beans. Weird, but kinda cool. Like some secret differentiator. The Queen Anne's french toast is a very good choice. Strawberry Fair is located in a old house. This leads to more than a few different dining areas. Prepare yourself for lots of kitch. Strawberry anything and everything. Once you move past this you'll find a enjoyable eating experience, lots of little almost private spaces, and an kind staff. Parking is a problem. They have a very small parking lot. Prepare for hard turns and second guessing if you will fit your car into the spaces available. They have annexed a bit of the Saab dealer's parking lot which has helped a bit, but also complicated things due to a 1 car wide access to this area.

Was going to my Ob appointment which is down the street in Hanover and saw it a perfect opportunity to try the restaurant. I went for lunch and ordered the grilled chicken sandwich special. It was very good and cooked perfectly. Grilled chicken breast with Havarti cheese, roasted red peppers, lettuce, tomato and balsamic vinegar on foccacia bread with crispy melted cheese. Bread was perfect soft and crunchy. Plenty big for $9. Love that the water and lemon r served In a mason jar with handle. Want to come back for breakfast with Ry.

I'll admit that this is our go-to breakfast joint, so I'm a bit embarassed to only give it four stars. My disclaimer is that it would get five if it they didn't cram so many tables in that you're almost surprised that you're not eating your pancakes in the bathroom. There's a quaint cheekiness to this establishment that really does win a person over though, so it's pretty easy to overlook the fact that the people in the neighboring table might as well be sitting in your lap and feeding you spoonfuls of your eggs. I understand why they've put tables everywhere (and I do mean *everywhere*) and why they want to cram so many human beings into the space they have, but hell- I'm a bit surprised that the fire marshal hasn't shut them down for exceeding capacity. They're packed to the gills with people (and random stuff right out of the Cracker Barrel Country Store that they're selling). Come here for rockin' corn bread and an unusual take on Eggs Benedict that is served with absolutely delicious fried brown bread (it's called a Brown Eyed Susan and it makes my brown eyes far from blue!); it is THE place to go for greasy yumminess to satify that hangover hunger. But, just be forewarned... you'll be reminded of the fact that you need to lose those extra pounds when you can barely fit in the microscopic seats at the cramped and miniscule tables, and you may or may not be able to get out of there without buying some stupid tschocke with a strawberry on it. It all looks so appealing in the store and absolutely ridiculous in your house, so resist.

Banana Cornbread French Toast ..... are you intrigued? I was, phenomonal is all I can say. Quick service, & Hot food. Stay away from the homefries too mushy. But the baked beans are to die for. So cute inside, very cottage like with lots of knick knacks and bric a brac for sale. Totally made my Sunday morning!
