Just by standing across the street smelling the ever so fragrant rotisserie chicken, fried pork...you know this place is the real deal when it comes to Spanish Caribbean food. True enough we ordered half chicken, sausages, fried yucca, ox tail stew, mofongos and washed it down with Presidente...it was delicious. This place is fun and authentic. If u happen to make it to Lawrence on ur way to NH. Stop by for lunch u won't be disappointed

Out for a Sunday drive with the family and found this great place. Free on street parking on Sunday was a bonus. The food is assembled fresh in front of you. The surprise had to be the tenderness and fluffy texture of the rice. Just perfectly executed and very memorable. Overall a great experience and one that will be repeated in the future.

Get pass the laud music and yelling and you'll be in for real treat! The food is exquisite and abundant. Servers are polite and responsive despite the seemingly chaotic ambiance. This is probably a better place for take out than to sit in.

I'm not from the area, and idk if this is the best latin food one could get around here, but this place is insanely overrated. I came here because I saw pics, latin food, and 5 stars on yelp. I inadvertently came in through the bar side which was like walking into a foreign country, and I'M HISPANIC! Loud as all hell Dominican music, presidente's, and dude's decked out in black leather trying to look tough and maybe there to pick up chicks of which there were barely any, so I don't get it. I didn't know the layout of this place was bar/hallway/restaurant so I had to ask a bartender twice, in spanish, just to have her point to the hallway. So, I finally get around to the food area, if you don't speak Spanish you're going to have a close to impossible time ordering here. I had to wait a good 15 mins just to order, and I was 2nd in line. I didn't see any menu's, and ordering was a bit of a barrier with a server that had no patience. It inevitably turned into me pointing at food and trying to decipher how to tell this woman I wanted enough food for two people. I think they do it by weight here, so be prepared to try and figure out how many ounces of pork rinds you want. So far, I'm hating this experience, but I was so hungry, and parking was such a pain, that I just said screw it and did my best to order food and get the hell out. On to the food; pork rinds were probably the best, but it's hard to mess that up. Rice was well done, but again, not hard. The plantains "maduros" were so dry I didn't eat them, even though I ended up with like half a pound of them. The fried chicken tasted like KFC, also greasy. The pork was ok, kind of dry too. Idk, I was expecting so much more. If this is as good as it gets in Lawrence I urge you to travel more, this is not a 5 stars joint, trust me.

OK, so they have a menu now :) When I first ate there, there was no menu, and I obviously didn't get the protocol of not ordering at the counter and sitting in a booth. You sit in a booth... you are being served! The more I stop in, the more comfortable I feel ordering for take out. I always feel like I get the odd stare ... like I don't fit in, but everyone is very nice and welcoming. It was just me being cautious and trying to blend in lol. Decided to dine in ... got the menu and of course! I messed up the order. I thought it was beans a rice... it's yellow rice with peas! ARGH! Arroz con Grandules Server was nice enough to take my rice and beans back and replace with what I thought was rice and beans haha ... so yummy! Of course got the rotisserie chicken and salad side. ... Nothing was left behind! Wish this place was closer to 93! for ease of finding ... I always use my GPS getting here.

The food itself is stellar. I've never had Dominican before, or at least I don't know that I've had it, but this was awesome. The ordering was a little strange for two white folks like ourselves. We came in on a Sunday night around 8pm. Apparently there is a dance/club/party that happens in the evenings. It was loud, we could barely hear ourselves speak, and the servers seem to speak very little English. So we ended up pointing at things. My wife got the rotisserie chicken, rice, beans, and some fried plantains. The chicken was juicy, wonderfully spiced, and we got a ton of it. Beans were also great and flavorful. Plantains we loved, although I wish I had gotten more. I know to ask for the larger size next time! They also gave us what i think were fried sweet potatoes (correction, yuca root), and they too were delicious. We were also given a ton of white rice. It would have been enough for five people easy. Crazy portions there. I decided to get what I think were chicharonnes. It was fried pork belly and some rib section. You guessed it, delicious. There are so many things in the menu, in definitely going to try them all. Don't feel bashful if you're a white boy like me. The food is good enough to overcome that. Grab a menu to the right (they have it in English too) and/or just point to things. You'll be glad you did.

I visit this place twice sense ive been here (7 months). I traveled here after working over night in Westborough so, its a good trip. During Both visits, I purchased great quality food for a low price. That of course is subjective to what you are ordering. I just love to order La empanadas and Fritos basically for breakfast because, they are my most favorite Caribbean Dominican foods my Grandmother use to make for lunch. In fact its as perfect as my grandmothers'. Based on my last visit; the Cashier had a great sense of humor, the place was neat and, everyone was friendly. The place can be crowded but, its worth a wait. Much better than TKOs in Leominster. Always worth the travel. I do plan to return very soon.

The food is pretty great. It's as good as it gets. However, ordering can be a pain the ass because they always have loud music on

The food is fantastic. The people are great, prices are just, and the drinks are fresh and ready to serve without having the need to wait for anything. Proud to be Dominican.

Good stuff!! It was my first time eating mofongo, and I wasn't disappointed. I had a local order for me, and was happy with the half rotisserie chicken, mofongo, moro, and gravy. Great food for a great price :)

You can get some awesome good food at this place, if you are not Latino best bet to go with a Latino friend, or if you speak real choppy Spanglish like I do you can order. $21 can buy you a huge plate rice and pigeon peas, (arryo con gondules) a bowl of steak with peppers and onions ( bistec con enceballado); big plate of fried pork (carne fritas) and a nice filet of fried fish. Enough to feed four people. YOU CANT BEAT IT. There is also the rotisserie chicken which is really good, Guisau like this tomatoe stew with meat and onions over white rice is great. The pastelitos have either beef, chicken, or ham and cheese, the potatoe balls with hamburger inside them light crunchy shell. Tostones, or the fried plaintaines, they are so good they get all carnelized. However, I must say their fried fish is my latest favorite, it is white flaky on the inside and this light breading, but just enough to hold the flavor of the oil, it is legitimately finger licking good. one filet runs you like $5-$6 but is sooo worth it, the fried pork tell them you want $6 a big portion for one $11 can feed like three-five people, they chop it with the butcher knife and give you some fresh cut limes, squeeze that lime all over it and you will absolutely not be disappointed. Parking sucks really bad, and no one can ever seem to park in a spot somewhat normally your best bet is to park on Lawrence Street

When visiting Lawrence this is the First place I want to go an eat traditional Dominican food. The beans are cook right, their best cooked items are the fried meat, chicken, pork chops and fried Batatas. This restaurant is always full of people in the night time especially in the weekends, it has been expanded with nice seats in one area and the Bar in another area. So great is the food, that it is opening a new Location soon in another town.

I have been going to this place for years its as good as it gets when it comes to rotisserie chicken. Hands down the best rotisserie chicken I have ever had anywhere. My go to order is rotisserie chicken with white rice and habichuela you really can't go wrong with these things. I would highly recommend trying this place out. The restaurant is on a busy street and is perfectly safe to visit.

Basically the best Latino food in the Merrimack Valley area. I love the chicken (pollo guisado), with the rice and beans (habichuelas y arroz). Like everyone else said, the only minor problem is that it's a little difficult to communicate with them due to the language barrier. Fortunately, I speak Spanish. The Dominican/Puerto Rican food is delicious!! Best in the area.

Service was confusing to me, wasn't sure if I should be waited on or order and take it to a table (during dinner, there is in fact a waitress), but it's just something to get used to. I had the oxtail and beans with rice and they were fantastic. The price was on target with what an american restaurant would charge, sometimes less. Huge portions. My friend had me try her chicken and it was amazing. It's the kind of place that makes you want to pick out the oddest thing on the menu, but I went bonkers for the rotisserie chicken.

I am a Puerto Rican recently moved to the area from Boston and when I found Pollo Tipico, it was like winning the lottery. If you aren't familiar with Caribbean Food or don't speak Spanish, this place is intimidating. I could only find a Spanish menu, and the menu isn't all that clear as to what you are going to get with your order (does it come with Maduros? or rice and beans? I'm still not sure...) but I loved the food that I got. We got Steak with Onions (bistec encebollado) with white rice and pink beans, and Oxtail stew (Rabo) with rice and pigeon peas (arroz con gandules). It came to $23. The portions of steak, Rabo, and rice with gandules were huge, but I got a tiny amount of pink beans and would have wanted more given how amazing they were. We also got a huge portion of maduros (sweet plantains). I will be back for more!

We just ate there today. Did the prices go up? Of course they never give u a receipt.. Anywho. I ordered small rice, small stew meat, and a few pork skins(chicharon). Total came up for $22. doesn't seem right. But arguing with them will be pointless. Especially if pork taste like yesterday's leftover. won't see me there again!

The food is really, really good. I've only sat on the side with the bar where the food is made to order, rather than cafeteria style. The staff isn't the friendliest, perhaps because I only speak a little Spanish. The coconut shrimp is bangin' and the yucca is so deliciouso.

This is not a well-known place and the atmosphere is, well, there is no atmosphere, but oooohhh, those Cuban sandwiches.......the pork they use is a little like brisket in some ways, and it is incredibly flavorful. The rest of the menu is pretty decent as well, with Cuban and Puerto Rican specialties such as yucca, plantain, and oxtail.

So what kind of place is this? I was cruising around Lawrence while my gf was working in the area, and in my starving induced delirium I stumbled across this place. I tried to get them to make a combo plate for me, but my inability to speak their language resulted in only a roast pork plate (chicaron?) and the rice with beans. regardless, the food I did get was very good. I did wish I could have tried the chicken as the aroma alone could have satisfied my hunger. I think beef and some other items are available for order. Price matched the hole in the wall atmosphere. I also think if you go through the front side you'll walk through a bar, but I may be mistaken.
