Ambience...none. service was ok. Food was not so great. A lot of the food had the same taste and texture. Sushi was disgusting. Some were too salty or too bland. I usually eat a lot at buffers but this place I had one plate and I didn't even finish it. I will not go there again

Yo locals, read this: near death experience at this place on a Sunday evening. My mom, a growing young boy, and I stopped in before heading back to Boston to head our separate ways. This rarely happens to me at a restaurant, but when I walked in, I had a powerful urge to walk right back out, but we didn't have time. I am not sure why I felt this way; it seemed clean enough. But it was humungous and empty, save for a three-generation family with a table full of screaming kids. I know that dinner here is $6.99 if you have the leisure to come to this deserted strip mall kinda behind the decrepit Showcase Cinemas in La-town on a Monday or Wednesday, but I think it was roughly $15 a head when we went. Given this, the lack of variety was even more of an affront to our senses. The General Tsao's chicken was overly sweet (who knew that this was possible), and there wasn't even peanut chicken. The second star is for what few pleasant surprises existed: lo-mein, egg custard, and "Italian chicken." Everything else was just a butter bath, though for some odd reason, my mom actually liked the greasy whole shrimp. About that g.d. shrimp...I ate a few without incident. I always eat the shells because they are actually tasty and full of calcium. Then, halfway through a bunch of fried rice, I felt a sharp pain in my throat, and I KNEW it was the shrimp skeleton's revenge. It felt as if I had a whole section of the creature's back pincing the tender skin of my throat and palate. Like a mangy cat, I coughed and rasped until there was no alternative but to run to the bathroom. Nevermind how I ended up extracting what turned out to be a tiny, coraline piece of shrimp shell...as my whole life flashed before me and my eyes rolled back in my head, I worried that the last sight I ever saw would be the writing on the walls; the nastiest I have seen anywhere, done by girls and women of all ages calling each other bitches, ghetto, and so on in the most hateful and vulgar way (and trust me, I have a pretty thick skin when it comes to obscenities). With tears in my eyes, I returned to the table, still determined to get the most out of the meal. Dessert consisted of a bunch of all right honeydew, since everything else was shriveled and canned, and the phallic severed bananas rolled in a fake-blood colored syrup were completely ghastly. My stomach threatened to cramp up, but I pressed on, and was luckily spared what I thought would be an almost certain attack of diarrhea. Instead, I was overcome by an intense stupor which almost caused me to drive off the I-93 later on the way downtown. The worst part of it was the turgid fortune cookie that grudgingly told me: "Never doubt what is logical." No shit, you a-hole fortune cookie! Now, I've been known to eat cold, clumpy leftover Jasmine rice with borderline stale cheez-its, but this place was just too little and too much for me. Next time, I will definitely make the extra hike out to the Methuen's China Buffet, which is already superior to this place in that it has a proper name that isn't akin to that of a Bingo slot.

I know it's hard to run a restaurant, so I usually give the benefit of the doubt, but this was by far the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. The vast majority of the dishes on the buffet were lukewarm at best. They had french fries and onion rings -- which tasted as though they were at least an hour old. The grease pooled on my plate around the traditional chinese entries like broccoli and beef and the egg foo young with gravy. The chicken balls (breaded fried balls of chicken) were grey-brown on the inside, and every chicken item we tried was 100% dark meat. The boneless spare ribs were mostly gristle and hard to chew. There were two things that were good - the spring rolls, and the little donuts mentioned by another reviewer. The entire meal was so salty that my kids and I have drunk (no exaggeration here) at least a quart of water each in the 3 hours since leaving the restaurant, and my youngest is only 70#. My mouth and toungue are still burning from the salt. The place looks clean when you go in, but when you get close enough to see the walls, carpet and sneeze guard (plastic over the buffet) you realize that there are layers of scum that have been wiped over. At $10.99 each ($6.99 on Monday and Wednesday) it is no bargain. For the $40 (incl. tip) I spent on 3 of us, we could have gone to the movies across the street and had dinner at KFC (also in the strip mall) and been much better - and healthfully - fed. The only good thing I have to say is that they cleared the plates quickly. Although I generally encourage my kids to eat what they take, there was much here that once tasted, we simply could not finish. We all agreed that we much prefer the China Buffet in Methuen on 28 or better yet the Sunday brunch at Linn Garden in Dracut.

C1 Buffet is located in South Lawrence in the middle of a small shopping center. The restaurant is quite large and has very little ambiance. We were greeted at the door and brought to our booth. There are both booths and tables. We were promptly asked what we wanted for our beverage and brought our tea. The tea while very hot was nothing more than colored water.The buffet table had quite a large selection for a luncheon , but a lot of the food was just warm or cold. I could understand this if the place was not busy but it was and there was a quick turn over of food. The labels above the food was all mixed up leaving you with having to guess what you were going to eat if you did not recognize it. The restaurant looked clean enough but look as though no upkeep had been done for quite awhile. Upon leaving a trip to the rest room was an experience. The room had two stalls with locks that did not work. A paint brush had not seen the room in decades, the graffiti had graffiti. I would go back again but I would make sure I used the rest room before going in. One thing they have going in their favor is the luncheon is only $6.99.

We've been here several times. The food's always hot, tasty, plentiful with lots of variety. I'd just avoid the sushi. With people complaing about the ambiance and service at a Chinese buffet, I can't help but wonder what they were expecting.

Visited here a few days ago and was sad to find that the food had suffered tremendously with the times... All of the food was very cold almost inedible!! And don't even get me started on the staff, I mean for starters the guy making the sushi didn't even know what type he was making. It's very upsetting I used to love this place . Your dead to me now .

Good place always plenty of food n seating and they even have those funny fried bananas that you can get at the corner markets there my favorite it the beef teriyaki mmmmm beefy!

Horrible! The waitress was pushy and demands tip! Like seriously! Very disappointed! Waste of money! The food is either too oily or wicked dry and flavorless. Never again will I go there! People dont know what good is around lawrence because they settle for anything.

Went here on a Saturday, about a half an hour just after they opened. The parking lot was full so I thought that was a good thing and the food must be good. Went in and we were the only people there besides a couple that was getting ready to leave. Where were all the people? My husband is a big seafood fan and there was nothing there. Whatever he did get, he didn't even finish a plate. The food was cold and and that is very questionable since they just opened! Went to get some ice cream for my kids and their ice cream scoops were dirty. Was curious about this place but never going there again.

I've been going to this buffet for years, I can honestly say it has really gone down hill. The last time that I dined at C1 Buffet, which was this past Columbus Day (2011), there was practically no food left, and everything was cold. My boyfriend and I waited, expecting some freshly cooked food to arrive from the kitchen but nothing ever did. This is extremely dissapointing & unless they make some major changes to the resturant, wait staff, and food, I will not be returning.
