Hubby & I grabbed an early dinner here on Saturday. We sat at a booth in the bar which was alright since it was not very busy. We were greeted and seated within a minute of arrival! (It was around 4PM). Our waiter was snappy...loved his attentiveness yet he was not invasive! I ordered a salad with the grilled salmon & mashed potatoes. Hubby got the half slab of ribs with fries. The food was excellent and of course the hot rolls are yummy! I have been here during peak hours and it can be noisy, so keep that in mind. It is a large restaurant, very kid friendly and it has consistently good food.

My mom loves the place & we decided to eat here after work one day.... When they seat you, you can throw peanuts on the ground which is fun ! Our waitress was super nice. They have nutrition information online !!!!! I got a filet. Was ok.. I didn't really care for it & my margarita was lacking.... I was really disappointed in the food area. I reported them to their corporate office when both the service and my meal was comparable to Mickey D's. I was willing to try them again, but then they sent me a "free appetizer" coupon to compensate me for a messed up entree and app. I can deal with momentary rudeness, but cheap is forever. Kthxbye!

Not impressed. It's been a year since I have been to this location and the food was garbage that time but I figured I would give them another shot. Bad decision. I ordered the filet medallions med well and what showed up on my plate looked to have been raw meat colored with a light brown crayon. First bite gristle, second was a bloody mess. Don't come here. Look another flying insect.

My husband wanted to go here for date night. Usually if I want steak, we go to Longhorn. They were really busy but we hardly even noticed with the service we received. We walked in, gave our name and in less than 5 minutes we were headed to our table. Before I could put my purse down, we had dinner rolls and our waitress asking for drinks. Now that's service!! She took our order and in less than 20 minutes we had our food. While waiting for our food, the manager Casey came over and asked if we were ok. I took the opportunity to tell him how impressed i was with the service and waitress. The food was hot and very good! This is our new go to steak place. Loved it!!

Everytime I go there they have us wait almost two hours to get a table that is hardly accessible for a wheelchair. Once they had us paraded around just to find out the wheelchair didn't fit. Another long wait later we called outback and set up reservations there. Texas was brash, rude and unprofessional .... I already reported them to the Disabilities group here in Baton Rouge.

I'm not sure why the other yelper complained about peanut shells all over the floor but i find it unique. Where else can you find something like this except for the cirques. You can eat peanuts while you wait. Nice. That yelper must of have OCD. They have this awesome delicous bread that they bake in house and it comes out fresh. The service was awesome because my steak wasn't cooked as i wanted it. The manager came around checking to see if i was ok. I told him about my steak and he went back to the kitchen and had the chef cook me another one. The food was great and everything else that came with it.

"Steak-a-licious-ness". It is not often I get to make my way to Texas Roadhouse. When it first opened, I was super excited about it, but with so many phenomenal locally-owned/operated restaurants, it has gone into my back-burner. I visited this past weekend for a meal with family and I have to say I was pretty happy with my experience. The wait time for a Saturday evening (around 8:30pm) was not entirely too terrible; 15 to 20 minutes tops. This restaurant is known for their steaks and the peanut shell droppings on the ground - if you have a nut allergy, BEWARE! Our server was energetic and attentive to our drink and food orders, which we also did not have to wait long for! If you like steak - try the Porterhouse, which is a shareable entree for sure because it is gi-normous! My 5-year old also got a small sirloin with a side of mashed potatoes, which she absolutely loved. Steaks were cooked to our liking and the server was pleasant and very eager to be our waiter.

Only complaint was how close the hand dryer in the men's restroom was to the sink. One guy was drying his hands and water was hitting the back of my neck.

Anyway, I really wanted a steak recently, but I didn't want to spend a great deal of money going to one of the area's high-end places. So, I settled on Texas Roadhouse, because I remembered enjoying my one other visit. So, my friend and I stopped in. I chose the 16oz. Fort Worth Ribeye with a salad and a loaded sweet potato. My waitress was very nice, and while we had to wait to get the rolls, they were so obviously fresh, I did not mind the wait. My salad was pretty good, though it was pretty much just a caesar salad. My sweet potato came loaded with marshmallows and caramel sauce, though I couldn't really taste the caramel. I am not too upset by that, as it was a side, and not a dessert. It was decent and was a nice change of pace from typical side foods. I ordered my steak medium rare, even though I usually order them medium. It seemed a bit too rare to be medium rare, but I chalked that up to my inexperience with medium rare steaks. It had a nice flavor, but I was a little shocked when the waitress asked me if I wanted Heinz 57 or A1 steaksauce. I was shocked because a good steak is meant to be enjoyed for its own flavor and texture. Oh well. Anyway, my steak was pretty juicy and tender, though it was a little too fatty. It was an ok steak, though I doubt I would have seen the same thing at a nicer steakhouse. I am glad that I went, and I am sure I will return in the future.

There is a large waiting area with plenty of seating and a peanut station, where you can fill a small paper sack with peanuts to snack on while you wait... shells just go on the floor. The atmosphere was super casual and laid back. The staff was wearing jeans and polos and sweatshirts sporting the restaurant logo. I don't know if it was just because today was exceptionally cold, but I did get very cold and had to steal hubby's jacket. It took an extra beat before our server, Kristian, arrived to take our drink orders. It's not like he was sitting in the corner checking his Facebook, they were clearly busy, so it was really no big deal. We were given some fresh hot bread, it was pretty great. The butter served was a sweet cinnamon butter. It was tasty, but we also asked for some plain butter. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer and shared the Sirloin Combo with ribs. We chose mashed potatoes and a side salad for sides. The side salad came out before the pickles, and Kristian politely apologized for it. The salad was nothing special, although I did like the ranch dressing quite a bit. The pickles came out soon after and were super hot and tasty. We weren't quite done with our salad when the entree came out. The ribs fell off the bone, as promised. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The steak we ordered was perfectly medium rare with a lovely crust, you could tell they seared it before they grilled it (which is taught in most culinary schools). The flavor and tenderness was great definitely a solid contender in the casual dining welterweight class of steaks. I was less than overwhelmed by the potatoes, which we had with cheese and bacon. The texture was good, I just feel they could have used a dash of more salt/pepper/garlic. I feel like all the food could have been a little warmer, which would have escalated the flavor profile of everything. Kristian offered dessert and drinks to go, both of which we declined and he brought the check. He did a very good job keeping us happy tonight. With the app, entree, and iced tea, our bill came out to less than $30 and we were both STUFFED. Filling two stomachs full of steak and ribs for that price is a pretty solid deal. I am not a huge fan of chains, but this one has easily made it to the short list of ones I wouldn't mind frequenting.

While visiting Baton Rouge, I was able to try this Texas Roadhouse twice and I was very happy each time. Once was for lunch and the other was for dinner. Below I've listed some highlights. When I came for dinner...there were 10 people in my party and we all ordered something different. With that being said...I was able to try a bunch of menu items and they were all fantastic! I also want to note their AWESOME servers, bartenders, hosts and managers at this location. Everyone was friendly and the servers knew their menu very well. I really appreciate this. Highlights - *Rolls and butter (there's cinnamon in the butter - LOVE IT!) *Appetizers - Baby Blossom, Rattlesnake Bites, Tater Skins *Sides - Steak fries, Caesar salad, Baked Potato, Mushrooms *Entrees - Bone-in Ribeye, Dallas Filet, Country Fried Sirloin, Ribs and Grilled Chicken. *All meats were cooked perfectly. Bonus - they have a great bar (fully stocked), which has several tables. They also have TVs, in case you want to catch a game. Overall...I can't say enough fabulous things about this Texas Roadhouse. I HIGHLY suggest you and all of your friends and family give them a try soon!

Arriving late the other night due to multiple flight delays, this was the only place still open within walking distance of the hotel. I had never tried this particular chain, but I was born to have adventure so I wandered up the steps. First some libations to calm the nerves. Full bar here! Waitress said I could eat at the bar, which worked out fine. Family place, it was teeming with loud little ones, even at 10:30pm. The bar was a quiet zone of sorts. Peanuts on the floor, funky decorations. Like the poor armadillo that some redneck jammed a cigarette up his dead butt. I walked over and pulled it out. Some people, I swear. I'm saving a special place in Hell for this joker. Steak was the obvious choice, I got a T-bone (average), veggies and a side of mac 'n cheese. Comfort food. This poor devil needed some. Good service, not too pricey

I was disappointed here. I ordered the prime rib which was so overly chemically-tenderized that you could barely tell it was beef any more PLUS it had a fake smoke flavor. I couldn't eat it. They charge extra for a "loaded" baked potato which is a small amount of sour cream, some cheese, and bacon. Why charge extra when this is standard fare in every competing steakhouse? The service was OK. Mostly young women who hadn't been trained very well (lifting my glass by the rim instead of the base so her fingers were all over where I drink -- I used a straw to compensate). Overall the atmosphere is OK and the free peanuts were nice but, for a few dollars more, I can get a much better meal at Outback.

In 2009, I would have been more than happy to go have a nice, low-priced lunch at texas road house. In 2011, Id much rather eat at Mickey ds and save 20 bucks. Since my first visit, I've eaten here several times now. Take-out AND Dine-in. This restaurant never fails to get it right. The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that the food isn't free and their seasoned rice is really gross. There's something about that rice that I can't put my finger on but it tastes like it's been in dirty dish water. I can't even stand to smell it. They really need to find another recipe for that. It's a base that they put underneath a lot of their entrees. Other than the nasty rice, I have to commend them on one of the top 2 salads I've ever had. They serve it in an ice cold bowl. The House Salad has just about everything in it. It's more of a country-foods style salad with the boiled egg, chopped tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, very cold crisp lettuce (although I wish they'd mix in some Green Leaf lettuce with the Iceberg), home-made croutons and (if you choose this dressing) home-made Bleu Cheese dressing that is really tasty! It will not disappoint! Not many restaurants at all serve their salads ice cold where the bowl is ice cold as well. It really makes the world of difference. I'm not too fond of getting your Steak Fries "loaded". That means they melt real cheddar cheese and sprinkle bacon bits on top. If it gets cold while you eat it, it turns into a big cheese/potato pattie. Not very handy to eat but still very tasty. I've chosen a favorite at this restaurant. The 6 ounce Dallas Filet. Ooooooh man, whoever is back in that kitchen can cook a MEAN steak!!! And they cook it perfect as-ordered every single time I've eaten there. I like mine med. rare and it's always perfectly cooked and soooo juicy with no gristle or fat!...just pure lean meat. My family and friends that have eaten here with me tell me the other kinds of steaks they have are also cooked perfectly with no gristle or fat and the Road Kill is awesome. The wait staff has really changed since my first visit and they have completely changed their demeanor. They really make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Almost every single time I've Dined-in, I've seen the manager walking around asking how everyone's meal has been. I love seeing that!!!! That is awesome! Anything I ask for, they're right there to accommodate me. Only one last thing to mention. The last time I ordered take-out, they told me it would be about 15-20 mins. and I got to the restaurant 5 mins. later than that and we STILL had to wait on them to get our order made. That shouldn't have happened but if it happens again, I will be talking to the manager, no doubt! Doesn't that defeat the purpose of them giving you a time frame of when it will be ready? Anyways...my overall opinion about this restaurant is that they are fantastic! They impressed my out-of-town boyfriend and they always impress me and my family. 'Nuff said. 5 STARS!

I've eaten at Roadhouse many times. One of the main reasons I go there is because of the excellent quality of food and service you get at a very reasonable price. I'm not sure where "Jim G." ate because it couldn't have been Texas Roadhouse. I happen to know that the Prime Rib, along with all the other meat, is cut in house. The Prime is then marinated for a whole day and slow cooked over-night. No chemicals come into play in the tenderizing of the meat. And for you to comment on the service of waitresses (plural) in one sitting is confusing to me. I also know that waitresses are tested on the menu and service protocol before they are even allowed to wait on tables. So, I can understand if you commented about a less than desirable experience with ONE server, but not several. As for complaining about paying $.99 extra for a loaded baked potato and then saying that the competing Outback doesn't charge extra is comical. At Texas Roadhouse your meal includes two side items (including salads). At Outback you are required to pay and extra $2.25 for each side and $3.95 for a salad. But, you complain about $.99 for a loaded baked potato that is included in the price of your meal. In closing, Roadhouse always makes for a great experience and my beer is always ice-cold!

I have mixed feelings about the million peanut shells covering every square inch of this restaurant. Its what makes this place unique, yet it also distracted me from enjoying my food. I'm just happy I didn't find peanut shells in my margarita. I normally despise chain restaurants because the food is all the same. I have to admit its only my second time in Baton Rouge, so I haven't had the experience to compare a whole lot of restaurants. But I found the service here outstanding (sometimes a little over-the-top, because I like to enjoy my meals in peace). The guy was at our table every five minutes asking us if everything was OK. New Yorkers aren't used to that shit. We're lucky we don't have to go into the kitchen and get our own damn food. The restaurant was packed, so it took at least 20 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. By that time, the margarita was already making me hallucinate. I had the Country Fried Chicken, which is basically one huge chicken finger and it was very tender and delicious. This place is really known for its steaks, so I'll be back to try that one day.

I've eaten at Roadhouse many times. One of the main reasons I go there is because of the excellent quality of food and service you get at a very reasonable price. I'm not sure where "Jim G." ate because it couldn't have been Texas Roadhouse. I happen to know that the Prime Rib, along with all the other meat, is cut in house. The Prime is then marinated for a whole day and slow cooked over-night. No chemicals come into play in the tenderizing of the meat. And for you to comment on the service of waitresses (plural) in one sitting is confusing to me. I also know that waitresses are tested on the menu and service protocol before they are even allowed to wait on tables. So, I can understand if you commented about a less than desirable experience with ONE server, but not several. As for complaining about paying $.99 extra for a loaded baked potato and then saying that the competing Outback doesn't charge extra is comical. At Texas Roadhouse your meal includes two side items (including salads). At Outback you are required to pay and extra $2.25 for each side and $3.95 for a salad. But, you complain about $.99 for a loaded baked potato that is included in the price of your meal. In closing, Roadhouse always makes for a great experience and my beer is always ice-cold!

I have mixed feelings about the million peanut shells covering every square inch of this restaurant. Its what makes this place unique, yet it also distracted me from enjoying my food. I'm just happy I didn't find peanut shells in my margarita. I normally despise chain restaurants because the food is all the same. I have to admit its only my second time in Baton Rouge, so I haven't had the experience to compare a whole lot of restaurants. But I found the service here outstanding (sometimes a little over-the-top, because I like to enjoy my meals in peace). The guy was at our table every five minutes asking us if everything was OK. New Yorkers aren't used to that shit. We're lucky we don't have to go into the kitchen and get our own damn food. The restaurant was packed, so it took at least 20 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. By that time, the margarita was already making me hallucinate. I had the Country Fried Chicken, which is basically one huge chicken finger and it was very tender and delicious. This place is really known for its steaks, so I'll be back to try that one day.

Arriving late the other night due to multiple flight delays, this was the only place still open within walking distance of the hotel. I had never tried this particular chain, but I was born to have adventure so I wandered up the steps. First some libations to calm the nerves. Full bar here! Waitress said I could eat at the bar, which worked out fine. Family place, it was teeming with loud little ones, even at 10:30pm. The bar was a quiet zone of sorts. Peanuts on the floor, funky decorations. Like the poor armadillo that some redneck jammed a cigarette up his dead butt. I walked over and pulled it out. Some people, I swear. I'm saving a special place in Hell for this joker. Steak was the obvious choice, I got a T-bone (average), veggies and a side of mac 'n cheese. Comfort food. This poor devil needed some. Good service, not too pricey

I was disappointed here. I ordered the prime rib which was so overly chemically-tenderized that you could barely tell it was beef any more PLUS it had a fake smoke flavor. I couldn't eat it. They charge extra for a "loaded" baked potato which is a small amount of sour cream, some cheese, and bacon. Why charge extra when this is standard fare in every competing steakhouse? The service was OK. Mostly young women who hadn't been trained very well (lifting my glass by the rim instead of the base so her fingers were all over where I drink -- I used a straw to compensate). Overall the atmosphere is OK and the free peanuts were nice but, for a few dollars more, I can get a much better meal at Outback.

In 2009, I would have been more than happy to go have a nice, low-priced lunch at texas road house. In 2011, Id much rather eat at Mickey ds and save 20 bucks. Since my first visit, I've eaten here several times now. Take-out AND Dine-in. This restaurant never fails to get it right. The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that the food isn't free and their seasoned rice is really gross. There's something about that rice that I can't put my finger on but it tastes like it's been in dirty dish water. I can't even stand to smell it. They really need to find another recipe for that. It's a base that they put underneath a lot of their entrees. Other than the nasty rice, I have to commend them on one of the top 2 salads I've ever had. They serve it in an ice cold bowl. The House Salad has just about everything in it. It's more of a country-foods style salad with the boiled egg, chopped tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, very cold crisp lettuce (although I wish they'd mix in some Green Leaf lettuce with the Iceberg), home-made croutons and (if you choose this dressing) home-made Bleu Cheese dressing that is really tasty! It will not disappoint! Not many restaurants at all serve their salads ice cold where the bowl is ice cold as well. It really makes the world of difference. I'm not too fond of getting your Steak Fries "loaded". That means they melt real cheddar cheese and sprinkle bacon bits on top. If it gets cold while you eat it, it turns into a big cheese/potato pattie. Not very handy to eat but still very tasty. I've chosen a favorite at this restaurant. The 6 ounce Dallas Filet. Ooooooh man, whoever is back in that kitchen can cook a MEAN steak!!! And they cook it perfect as-ordered every single time I've eaten there. I like mine med. rare and it's always perfectly cooked and soooo juicy with no gristle or fat!...just pure lean meat. My family and friends that have eaten here with me tell me the other kinds of steaks they have are also cooked perfectly with no gristle or fat and the Road Kill is awesome. The wait staff has really changed since my first visit and they have completely changed their demeanor. They really make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Almost every single time I've Dined-in, I've seen the manager walking around asking how everyone's meal has been. I love seeing that!!!! That is awesome! Anything I ask for, they're right there to accommodate me. Only one last thing to mention. The last time I ordered take-out, they told me it would be about 15-20 mins. and I got to the restaurant 5 mins. later than that and we STILL had to wait on them to get our order made. That shouldn't have happened but if it happens again, I will be talking to the manager, no doubt! Doesn't that defeat the purpose of them giving you a time frame of when it will be ready? Anyways...my overall opinion about this restaurant is that they are fantastic! They impressed my out-of-town boyfriend and they always impress me and my family. 'Nuff said. 5 STARS!

Hubby & I grabbed an early dinner here on Saturday. We sat at a booth in the bar which was alright since it was not very busy. We were greeted and seated within a minute of arrival! (It was around 4PM). Our waiter was snappy...loved his attentiveness yet he was not invasive! I ordered a salad with the grilled salmon & mashed potatoes. Hubby got the half slab of ribs with fries. The food was excellent and of course the hot rolls are yummy! I have been here during peak hours and it can be noisy, so keep that in mind. It is a large restaurant, very kid friendly and it has consistently good food.

My mom loves the place & we decided to eat here after work one day.... When they seat you, you can throw peanuts on the ground which is fun ! Our waitress was super nice. They have nutrition information online !!!!! I got a filet. Was ok.. I didn't really care for it & my margarita was lacking.... I was really disappointed in the food area. Not impressed. It's been a year since I have been to this location and the food was garbage that time but I figured I would give them another shot. Bad decision. I ordered the filet medallions med well and what showed up on my plate looked to have been raw meat colored with a light brown crayon. First bite gristle, second was a bloody mess. Don't come here. My husband wanted to go here for date night. Usually if I want steak, we go to Longhorn. They were really busy but we hardly even noticed with the service we received. We walked in, gave our name and in less than 5 minutes we were headed to our table. Before I could put my purse down, we had dinner rolls and our waitress asking for drinks. Now that's service!! She took our order and in less than 20 minutes we had our food. While waiting for our food, the manager Casey came over and asked if we were ok. I took the opportunity to tell him how impressed i was with the service and waitress. The food was hot and very good! This is our new go to steak place. Loved it!!

Everytime I go there they have us wait almost two hours to get a table that is hardly accessible for a wheelchair. Once they had us paraded around just to find out the wheelchair didn't fit. Another long wait later we called outback and set up reservations there. Texas was brash, rude and unprofessional .... I already reported them to the Disabilities group here in Baton Rouge.

I got here a bit late, and (since I was a party of 1) I started scouting for a seat at the bar to grab dinner at. Luckily it was a Tuesday, so it wasn't too busy. The open side of the bar was in need of a good wipe down and attention from a busser, but I figured they were probably just still recovering from a very good Happy Hour or something. I settled in with a drink and a menu and started to ponder my options. I decided to go with a salad, the New York steak (with sauteed 'shrooms) and a loaded baked potato. When my steak arrived, she offered me steak sauce (which I didn't need), but I did ask for silverware (which I did need). The steak was good, but a bit on the salty side. This is coming from the guy whose wife always chides him about adding salt to my food at the table. She's on the other side of the spectrum (i.e. very sensitive to saltiness), and she probably wouldn't have been able to eat this as it was served, but I didn't mind it too much. The baked potato was good, but those are pretty hard not to get right. I had skipped their hot rolls to save all my gratuitous carbs for the loaded baker. Well, that and my jd-on-the-rocks. Does whiskey count as a carb? I hope so, it will help me confuse my doctor: Doc: You seem to be gaining weight lately. Me: Hm. Maybe I should cut back on the carbs? Back to the review. Now if you didn't catch it, I haven't mentioned what I thought of the salad. That's because my salad didn't show up until 15 minutes after my steak was brought out. Well, technically it was 14 minutes by the time stamps on my food photos, but either way. The server's only comment when she noticed it was "You didn't get your salad already?" in a very nonchalant manner, and when I told her "No" and she didn't really respond to that, nor did she seem to I didn't touch the salad (decided to chow down on the spud instead). She didn't even ask if I wanted to take it for later. I had noticed they goofed up the salad order for the guy who had been next to me too, but at least they managed to get it out to him before his entrée. Come to think of it, he had to ask for a silverware set too. At any rate, this place seems to suffer from (at best) severe apathy towards what they're doing and how well they do it. The bartender spent most of her time chatting with a couple of twenty-something guys at the other end of the bar and paid little to no attention to the other three of us spread out around the other 80% of the bar stools. I couldn't help but wonder if management is having them wear "I (heart) my job" t-shirts as some sort of subliminal staff training message? I guess the fact that there wasn't a crowd munching peanuts and waiting for tables when I got in should have been a hint for me, but at any rate, I think I'll give them a miss at this location. I like the local TRH back home, but if this is typical of the food and service on a slow night I can only imagine how it would be when they're actually busy.

I'm not sure why the other yelper complained about peanut shells all over the floor but i find it unique. Where else can you find something like this except for the cirques. You can eat peanuts while you wait. Nice. That yelper must of have OCD. They have this awesome delicous bread that they bake in house and it comes out fresh. The service was awesome because my steak wasn't cooked as i wanted it. The manager came around checking to see if i was ok. I told him about my steak and he went back to the kitchen and had the chef cook me another one. The food was great and everything else that came with it.

"Steak-a-licious-ness". It is not often I get to make my way to Texas Roadhouse. When it first opened, I was super excited about it, but with so many phenomenal locally-owned/operated restaurants, it has gone into my back-burner. I visited this past weekend for a meal with family and I have to say I was pretty happy with my experience. The wait time for a Saturday evening (around 8:30pm) was not entirely too terrible; 15 to 20 minutes tops. This restaurant is known for their steaks and the peanut shell droppings on the ground - if you have a nut allergy, BEWARE! Our server was energetic and attentive to our drink and food orders, which we also did not have to wait long for! If you like steak - try the Porterhouse, which is a shareable entree for sure because it is gi-normous! My 5-year old also got a small sirloin with a side of mashed potatoes, which she absolutely loved. Steaks were cooked to our liking and the server was pleasant and very eager to be our waiter.

Only complaint was how close the hand dryer in the men's restroom was to the sink. One guy was drying his hands and water was hitting the back of my neck.

Overall, if I could give half stars, I would give them 3.5 stars, but I always round up in my reviews. Anyway, I really wanted a steak recently, but I didn't want to spend a great deal of money going to one of the area's high-end places. So, I settled on Texas Roadhouse, because I remembered enjoying my one other visit. So, my friend and I stopped in. I chose the 16oz. Fort Worth Ribeye with a salad and a loaded sweet potato. My waitress was very nice, and while we had to wait to get the rolls, they were so obviously fresh, I did not mind the wait. My salad was pretty good, though it was pretty much just a caesar salad. My sweet potato came loaded with marshmallows and caramel sauce, though I couldn't really taste the caramel. I am not too upset by that, as it was a side, and not a dessert. It was decent and was a nice change of pace from typical side foods. I ordered my steak medium rare, even though I usually order them medium. It seemed a bit too rare to be medium rare, but I chalked that up to my inexperience with medium rare steaks. It had a nice flavor, but I was a little shocked when the waitress asked me if I wanted Heinz 57 or A1 steaksauce. I was shocked because a good steak is meant to be enjoyed for its own flavor and texture. Oh well. Anyway, my steak was pretty juicy and tender, though it was a little too fatty. It was an ok steak, though I doubt I would have seen the same thing at a nicer steakhouse. I am glad that I went, and I am sure I will return in the future.

Tonight was my first night here and I must admit, I was pretty impressed with this chain. My stars are given keeping in mind my expectations of a chain restaurant, and not as an "overall score" of every restaurant I've ever visited. They're not toting to be some upscale foodie place, and I won't judge them for not being one. The first thing I noticed was the faint sound of country music playing as we approached the building, this was fun and got me in the mood. I was surprised that it was busy enough on a Thursday night to be given a wait-pager, but I see this as a good sign, and it was only about five minutes of a wait. Despite the brisk weather tonight, I wouldn't have minded a longer wait. There is a large waiting area with plenty of seating and a peanut station, where you can fill a small paper sack with peanuts to snack on while you wait... shells just go on the floor. The atmosphere was super casual and laid back. The staff was wearing jeans and polos and sweatshirts sporting the restaurant logo. I don't know if it was just because today was exceptionally cold, but I did get very cold and had to steal hubby's jacket. It took an extra beat before our server, Kristian, arrived to take our drink orders. It's not like he was sitting in the corner checking his Facebook, they were clearly busy, so it was really no big deal. We were given some fresh hot bread, it was pretty great. The butter served was a sweet cinnamon butter. It was tasty, but we also asked for some plain butter. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer and shared the Sirloin Combo with ribs. We chose mashed potatoes and a side salad for sides. The side salad came out before the pickles, and Kristian politely apologized for it. The salad was nothing special, although I did like the ranch dressing quite a bit. The pickles came out soon after and were super hot and tasty. We weren't quite done with our salad when the entree came out. The ribs fell off the bone, as promised. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The steak we ordered was perfectly medium rare with a lovely crust, you could tell they seared it before they grilled it (which is taught in most culinary schools). The flavor and tenderness was great definitely a solid contender in the casual dining welterweight class of steaks. I was less than overwhelmed by the potatoes, which we had with cheese and bacon. The texture was good, I just feel they could have used a dash of more salt/pepper/garlic. I feel like all the food could have been a little warmer, which would have escalated the flavor profile of everything. Kristian offered dessert and drinks to go, both of which we declined and he brought the check. He did a very good job keeping us happy tonight. With the app, entree, and iced tea, our bill came out to less than $30 and we were both STUFFED. Filling two stomachs full of steak and ribs for that price is a pretty solid deal. I am not a huge fan of chains, but this one has easily made it to the short list of ones I wouldn't mind frequenting.

While visiting Baton Rouge, I was able to try this Texas Roadhouse twice and I was very happy each time. Once was for lunch and the other was for dinner. Below I've listed some highlights. When I came for dinner...there were 10 people in my party and we all ordered something different. With that being said...I was able to try a bunch of menu items and they were all fantastic! I also want to note their AWESOME servers, bartenders, hosts and managers at this location. Everyone was friendly and the servers knew their menu very well. I really appreciate this. Highlights - *Rolls and butter (there's cinnamon in the butter - LOVE IT!) *Appetizers - Baby Blossom, Rattlesnake Bites, Tater Skins *Sides - Steak fries, Caesar salad, Baked Potato, Mushrooms *Entrees - Bone-in Ribeye, Dallas Filet, Country Fried Sirloin, Ribs and Grilled Chicken. *All meats were cooked perfectly. Bonus - they have a great bar (fully stocked), which has several tables. They also have TVs, in case you want to catch a game. Overall...I can't say enough fabulous things about this Texas Roadhouse. I HIGHLY suggest you and all of your friends and family give them a try soon!

The restaurant was packed, so it took at least 20 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. By that time, the margarita was already making me hallucinate. I had the Country Fried Chicken, which is basically one huge chicken finger and it was very tender and delicious. This place is really known for its steaks, so I'll be back to try that one day.

Overall, if I could give half stars, I would give them 3.5 stars, but I always round up in my reviews. Anyway, I really wanted a steak recently, but I didn't want to spend a great deal of money going to one of the area's high-end places. So, I settled on Texas Roadhouse, because I remembered enjoying my one other visit. So, my friend and I stopped in. I chose the 16oz. Fort Worth Ribeye with a salad and a loaded sweet potato. My waitress was very nice, and while we had to wait to get the rolls, they were so obviously fresh, I did not mind the wait. My salad was pretty good, though it was pretty much just a caesar salad. My sweet potato came loaded with marshmallows and caramel sauce, though I couldn't really taste the caramel. I am not too upset by that, as it was a side, and not a dessert. It was decent and was a nice change of pace from typical side foods. I ordered my steak medium rare, even though I usually order them medium. It seemed a bit too rare to be medium rare, but I chalked that up to my inexperience with medium rare steaks. It had a nice flavor, but I was a little shocked when the waitress asked me if I wanted Heinz 57 or A1 steaksauce. I was shocked because a good steak is meant to be enjoyed for its own flavor and texture. Oh well. Anyway, my steak was pretty juicy and tender, though it was a little too fatty. It was an ok steak, though I doubt I would have seen the same thing at a nicer steakhouse. I am glad that I went, and I am sure I will return in the future.

I'm not sure why the other yelper complained about peanut shells all over the floor but i find it unique. Where else can you find something like this except for the cirques. You can eat peanuts while you wait. Nice. That yelper must of have OCD. They have this awesome delicous bread that they bake in house and it comes out fresh. The service was awesome because my steak wasn't cooked as i wanted it. The manager came around checking to see if i was ok. I told him about my steak and he went back to the kitchen and had the chef cook me another one. The food was great and everything else that came with it.

While visiting Baton Rouge, I was able to try this Texas Roadhouse twice and I was very happy each time. Once was for lunch and the other was for dinner. Below I've listed some highlights. When I came for dinner...there were 10 people in my party and we all ordered something different. With that being said...I was able to try a bunch of menu items and they were all fantastic! I also want to note their AWESOME servers, bartenders, hosts and managers at this location. Everyone was friendly and the servers knew their menu very well. I really appreciate this. Highlights - *Rolls and butter (there's cinnamon in the butter - LOVE IT!) *Appetizers - Baby Blossom, Rattlesnake Bites, Tater Skins *Sides - Steak fries, Caesar salad, Baked Potato, Mushrooms *Entrees - Bone-in Ribeye, Dallas Filet, Country Fried Sirloin, Ribs and Grilled Chicken. *All meats were cooked perfectly. Bonus - they have a great bar (fully stocked), which has several tables. They also have TVs, in case you want to catch a game. Overall...I can't say enough fabulous things about this Texas Roadhouse. I HIGHLY suggest you and all of your friends and family give them a try soon!

Hubby & I grabbed an early dinner here on Saturday. We sat at a booth in the bar which was alright since it was not very busy. We were greeted and seated within a minute of arrival! (It was around 4PM). Our waiter was snappy...loved his attentiveness yet he was not invasive! I ordered a salad with the grilled salmon & mashed potatoes. Hubby got the half slab of ribs with fries. The food was excellent and of course the hot rolls are yummy! I have been here during peak hours and it can be noisy, so keep that in mind. It is a large restaurant, very kid friendly and it has consistently good food.

My mom loves the place & we decided to eat here after work one day.... When they seat you, you can throw peanuts on the ground which is fun ! Our waitress was super nice. They have nutrition information online !!!!! I got a filet. Was ok.. I didn't really care for it & my margarita was lacking.... I was really disappointed in the food area. I got here a bit late, and (since I was a party of 1) I started scouting for a seat at the bar to grab dinner at. Luckily it was a Tuesday, so it wasn't too busy. The open side of the bar was in need of a good wipe down and attention from a busser, but I figured they were probably just still recovering from a very good Happy Hour or something. I settled in with a drink and a menu and started to ponder my options. I decided to go with a salad, the New York steak (with sauteed 'shrooms) and a loaded baked potato. When my steak arrived, she offered me steak sauce (which I didn't need), but I did ask for silverware (which I did need). The steak was good, but a bit on the salty side. This is coming from the guy whose wife always chides him about adding salt to my food at the table. She's on the other side of the spectrum (i.e. very sensitive to saltiness), and she probably wouldn't have been able to eat this as it was served, but I didn't mind it too much. The baked potato was good, but those are pretty hard not to get right. I had skipped their hot rolls to save all my gratuitous carbs for the loaded baker. Well, that and my jd-on-the-rocks. Does whiskey count as a carb? I hope so, it will help me confuse my doctor: Doc: You seem to be gaining weight lately. Me: Hm. Maybe I should cut back on the carbs? Back to the review. Now if you didn't catch it, I haven't mentioned what I thought of the salad. That's because my salad didn't show up until 15 minutes after my steak was brought out. Well, technically it was 14 minutes by the time stamps on my food photos, but either way. The server's only comment when she noticed it was "You didn't get your salad already?" in a very nonchalant manner, and when I told her "No" and she didn't really respond to that, nor did she seem to I didn't touch the salad (decided to chow down on the spud instead). She didn't even ask if I wanted to take it for later. I had noticed they goofed up the salad order for the guy who had been next to me too, but at least they managed to get it out to him before his entrée. Come to think of it, he had to ask for a silverware set too. At any rate, this place seems to suffer from (at best) severe apathy towards what they're doing and how well they do it. The bartender spent most of her time chatting with a couple of twenty-something guys at the other end of the bar and paid little to no attention to the other three of us spread out around the other 80% of the bar stools. I couldn't help but wonder if management is having them wear "I (heart) my job" t-shirts as some sort of subliminal staff training message? I guess the fact that there wasn't a crowd munching peanuts and waiting for tables when I got in should have been a hint for me, but at any rate, I think I'll give them a miss at this location. I like the local TRH back home, but if this is typical of the food and service on a slow night I can only imagine how it would be when they're actually busy.

"Steak-a-licious-ness". It is not often I get to make my way to Texas Roadhouse. When it first opened, I was super excited about it, but with so many phenomenal locally-owned/operated restaurants, it has gone into my back-burner. I visited this past weekend for a meal with family and I have to say I was pretty happy with my experience. The wait time for a Saturday evening (around 8:30pm) was not entirely too terrible; 15 to 20 minutes tops. This restaurant is known for their steaks and the peanut shell droppings on the ground - if you have a nut allergy, BEWARE! Our server was energetic and attentive to our drink and food orders, which we also did not have to wait long for! If you like steak - try the Porterhouse, which is a shareable entree for sure because it is gi-normous! My 5-year old also got a small sirloin with a side of mashed potatoes, which she absolutely loved. Steaks were cooked to our liking and the server was pleasant and very eager to be our waiter.

Steaks were prepared perfectly. Great flavor. Rolls were piping hot. Sweet potato had a terrific flavor. House salad was good size. Waitress was always checking up on us. Only complaint was how close the hand dryer in the men's restroom was to the sink. One guy was drying his hands and water was hitting the back of my neck.

Yum! Honestly, I came here for the side salad and loaded sweet potato. To go. They have the best salads, served cold and crisp in an ice cold plate. I even got rolls with my Togo order! Yum! But what's up with Texas road house not having to go parking!? Shame shame!

My husband wanted to go here for date night. Usually if I want steak, we go to Longhorn. They were really busy but we hardly even noticed with the service we received. We walked in, gave our name and in less than 5 minutes we were headed to our table. Before I could put my purse down, we had dinner rolls and our waitress asking for drinks. Now that's service!! She took our order and in less than 20 minutes we had our food. While waiting for our food, the manager Casey came over and asked if we were ok. I took the opportunity to tell him how impressed i was with the service and waitress. The food was hot and very good! This is our new go to steak place. Loved it!!

Everytime I go there they have us wait almost two hours to get a table that is hardly accessible for a wheelchair. Once they had us paraded around just to find out the wheelchair didn't fit. Another long wait later we called outback and set up reservations there. Texas was brash, rude and unprofessional .... I already reported them to the Disabilities group here in Baton Rouge.

Not impressed. It's been a year since I have been to this location and the food was garbage that time but I figured I would give them another shot. Bad decision. I ordered the filet medallions med well and what showed up on my plate looked to have been raw meat colored with a light brown crayon. First bite gristle, second was a bloody mess. Don't come here. Tonight was my first night here and I must admit, I was pretty impressed with this chain. My stars are given keeping in mind my expectations of a chain restaurant, and not as an "overall score" of every restaurant I've ever visited. They're not toting to be some upscale foodie place, and I won't judge them for not being one. The first thing I noticed was the faint sound of country music playing as we approached the building, this was fun and got me in the mood. I was surprised that it was busy enough on a Thursday night to be given a wait-pager, but I see this as a good sign, and it was only about five minutes of a wait. Despite the brisk weather tonight, I wouldn't have minded a longer wait. There is a large waiting area with plenty of seating and a peanut station, where you can fill a small paper sack with peanuts to snack on while you wait... shells just go on the floor. The atmosphere was super casual and laid back. The staff was wearing jeans and polos and sweatshirts sporting the restaurant logo. I don't know if it was just because today was exceptionally cold, but I did get very cold and had to steal hubby's jacket. It took an extra beat before our server, Kristian, arrived to take our drink orders. It's not like he was sitting in the corner checking his Facebook, they were clearly busy, so it was really no big deal. We were given some fresh hot bread, it was pretty great. The butter served was a sweet cinnamon butter. It was tasty, but we also asked for some plain butter. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer and shared the Sirloin Combo with ribs. We chose mashed potatoes and a side salad for sides. The side salad came out before the pickles, and Kristian politely apologized for it. The salad was nothing special, although I did like the ranch dressing quite a bit. The pickles came out soon after and were super hot and tasty. We weren't quite done with our salad when the entree came out. The ribs fell off the bone, as promised. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The steak we ordered was perfectly medium rare with a lovely crust, you could tell they seared it before they grilled it (which is taught in most culinary schools). The flavor and tenderness was great definitely a solid contender in the casual dining welterweight class of steaks. I was less than overwhelmed by the potatoes, which we had with cheese and bacon. The texture was good, I just feel they could have used a dash of more salt/pepper/garlic. I feel like all the food could have been a little warmer, which would have escalated the flavor profile of everything. Kristian offered dessert and drinks to go, both of which we declined and he brought the check. He did a very good job keeping us happy tonight. With the app, entree, and iced tea, our bill came out to less than $30 and we were both STUFFED. Filling two stomachs full of steak and ribs for that price is a pretty solid deal. I am not a huge fan of chains, but this one has easily made it to the short list of ones I wouldn't mind frequenting.

I've eaten at Roadhouse many times. One of the main reasons I go there is because of the excellent quality of food and service you get at a very reasonable price. I'm not sure where "Jim G." ate because it couldn't have been Texas Roadhouse. I happen to know that the Prime Rib, along with all the other meat, is cut in house. The Prime is then marinated for a whole day and slow cooked over-night. No chemicals come into play in the tenderizing of the meat. And for you to comment on the service of waitresses (plural) in one sitting is confusing to me. I also know that waitresses are tested on the menu and service protocol before they are even allowed to wait on tables. So, I can understand if you commented about a less than desirable experience with ONE server, but not several. As for complaining about paying $.99 extra for a loaded baked potato and then saying that the competing Outback doesn't charge extra is comical. At Texas Roadhouse your meal includes two side items (including salads). At Outback you are required to pay and extra $2.25 for each side and $3.95 for a salad. But, you complain about $.99 for a loaded baked potato that is included in the price of your meal. In closing, Roadhouse always makes for a great experience and my beer is always ice-cold!

I have mixed feelings about the million peanut shells covering every square inch of this restaurant. Its what makes this place unique, yet it also distracted me from enjoying my food. I'm just happy I didn't find peanut shells in my margarita. I normally despise chain restaurants because the food is all the same. I have to admit its only my second time in Baton Rouge, so I haven't had the experience to compare a whole lot of restaurants. But I found the service here outstanding (sometimes a little over-the-top, because I like to enjoy my meals in peace). The guy was at our table every five minutes asking us if everything was OK. New Yorkers aren't used to that shit. We're lucky we don't have to go into the kitchen and get our own damn food. Arriving late the other night due to multiple flight delays, this was the only place still open within walking distance of the hotel. I had never tried this particular chain, but I was born to have adventure so I wandered up the steps. First some libations to calm the nerves. Full bar here! Waitress said I could eat at the bar, which worked out fine. Family place, it was teeming with loud little ones, even at 10:30pm. The bar was a quiet zone of sorts. Peanuts on the floor, funky decorations. Like the poor armadillo that some redneck jammed a cigarette up his dead butt. I walked over and pulled it out. Some people, I swear. I'm saving a special place in Hell for this joker. Steak was the obvious choice, I got a T-bone (average), veggies and a side of mac 'n cheese. Comfort food. This poor devil needed some. Good service, not too pricey

I was disappointed here. I ordered the prime rib which was so overly chemically-tenderized that you could barely tell it was beef any more PLUS it had a fake smoke flavor. I couldn't eat it. They charge extra for a "loaded" baked potato which is a small amount of sour cream, some cheese, and bacon. Why charge extra when this is standard fare in every competing steakhouse? The service was OK. Mostly young women who hadn't been trained very well (lifting my glass by the rim instead of the base so her fingers were all over where I drink -- I used a straw to compensate). Overall the atmosphere is OK and the free peanuts were nice but, for a few dollars more, I can get a much better meal at Outback.

In 2009, I would have been more than happy to go have a nice, low-priced lunch at texas road house. In 2011, Id much rather eat at Mickey ds and save 20 bucks. Since my first visit, I've eaten here several times now. Take-out AND Dine-in. This restaurant never fails to get it right. The only complaint I have about this restaurant is that the food isn't free and their seasoned rice is really gross. There's something about that rice that I can't put my finger on but it tastes like it's been in dirty dish water. I can't even stand to smell it. They really need to find another recipe for that. It's a base that they put underneath a lot of their entrees. Other than the nasty rice, I have to commend them on one of the top 2 salads I've ever had. They serve it in an ice cold bowl. The House Salad has just about everything in it. It's more of a country-foods style salad with the boiled egg, chopped tomato, shredded cheddar cheese, very cold crisp lettuce (although I wish they'd mix in some Green Leaf lettuce with the Iceberg), home-made croutons and (if you choose this dressing) home-made Bleu Cheese dressing that is really tasty! It will not disappoint! Not many restaurants at all serve their salads ice cold where the bowl is ice cold as well. It really makes the world of difference. I'm not too fond of getting your Steak Fries "loaded". That means they melt real cheddar cheese and sprinkle bacon bits on top. If it gets cold while you eat it, it turns into a big cheese/potato pattie. Not very handy to eat but still very tasty. I've chosen a favorite at this restaurant. The 6 ounce Dallas Filet. Ooooooh man, whoever is back in that kitchen can cook a MEAN steak!!! And they cook it perfect as-ordered every single time I've eaten there. I like mine med. rare and it's always perfectly cooked and soooo juicy with no gristle or fat!...just pure lean meat. My family and friends that have eaten here with me tell me the other kinds of steaks they have are also cooked perfectly with no gristle or fat and the Road Kill is awesome. The wait staff has really changed since my first visit and they have completely changed their demeanor. They really make sure you are satisfied with your meal. Almost every single time I've Dined-in, I've seen the manager walking around asking how everyone's meal has been. I love seeing that!!!! That is awesome! Anything I ask for, they're right there to accommodate me. Only one last thing to mention. The last time I ordered take-out, they told me it would be about 15-20 mins. and I got to the restaurant 5 mins. later than that and we STILL had to wait on them to get our order made. That shouldn't have happened but if it happens again, I will be talking to the manager, no doubt! Doesn't that defeat the purpose of them giving you a time frame of when it will be ready? Anyways...my overall opinion about this restaurant is that they are fantastic! They impressed my out-of-town boyfriend and they always impress me and my family. 'Nuff said. 5 STARS!
