If you go by the quality of pizza joints around, then you won't be disappointed by this neat little joint on Nicholson drive. It's cozy, and decent diner. Serves other options namely calzones, sandwiches etc. However I recommend the pepperoni pizza which could come under custom pizzas as well as in one of their pepperoni delights. Compared to dominos or Pizza Hut, it's slightly expensive but worth it. A jumbo pizza which easily serves 4 comes for 24. So that's about 7$ per person. Which is awesome. They have some beer options and some wine too. But I won't recommend the wine because of the prices. Beers are cool and reasonable. So have a beer and a pizza. You're great. Vegetarian options are limited. However the garden Alfredo pizza is fine. Or else just go for a custom pizza if you're a vegan.

I gotta say I liked the pizza and the staff member that took the order was remarkable. She was handling the entire front of the house alone. I saw the mad dashing around between the patio and 3 tables in the main dining area and decided to opt for a to-go order. Despite the short staff my order came out pretty quick, was correct and the server never missed a beat. The pizza had that "red ring of death" that the Rotolos on Government told me it was never supposed to have. It tasted fine despite the RROD but the olives seemed to be different (not as tasty) than the ones on Government. But defiantly A OK and I will go back when I'm in the area and craving pizza.

I've only been here twice and I think it's just like a regular pizza place in a campus town..nothing outstanding. The menu is mostly burgers, sandwiches and pizzas. I ordered the 8 inch Angry Pig pizza with jalapenos and a bunch of other toppings. It was possibly the spiciest pizza I have ever eaten...and I liked that! My friends ordered the chicken wings, but they weren't too impressed because the wings looked kinda burnt. The salads were good though, and the half salad is pretty good for one person. I wish the service was friendlier though! The patio is really nice to hang out with friends--if you can ignore the random bugs! But then again bugs are a part of life in the bayou!

Good food. Need to update this page's information however. They no longer deliver! :(

Got the Garden Alfredo plus chicken. Not that good, wish I had spent my money elsewhere. $17 for a medium pizza, definitely too pricey.

Love the gluten free pizza, but just FYI it says they deliver on here but they don't.

I was really looking forward to a $5 calzone, but I guess they raised the price when I wasn't looking. I chose this location because it was close to my apartment, and I had already tried the other one close to home. I get that they are close to LSU and want to appeal to the young, party crowd, but this came across as a dive that also sells pizza. I was going to order an appetizer, but I guess my waiter didn't want me to. My roommate ended up ordering one from the bar, which is not really how I like to do business with a restaurant. We both got the Chicken Florentine Calzone and a thing of the Spinach and Artichoke Dip to share. The dip was ok, nothing truly special, but not bad in any way. The calzones were pretty good. It turns out that the Chicken Florentine Calzone is the spinach and artichoke dip with chicken in a calzone. The only reason that they get is 2 stars instead of 3 because the service was actually bad and he overcharged me by $6.00. Overall, I think my roommate put it best when he said, "I am astounded by how incredibly average of an experience that was."

I am a huge fan of Rotolo's and this is by far my favorite location. Lots of TV's for sports and great service. This company does a great job of offering a consistent product at all locations but the service here sets it apart. If you are in the mood for a great pizza with what I think is one of the best pizza sauces in town, Rotolo's is the place for you. They also have a great lunch special daily.

A-OK pretty adequately describes this location of Rotolo's. All of the menu items I've tried and the service I've experienced have been good but nothing remarkable. It is definintely a place I don't mind coming to, but it's also not a place I am ever "Jonesing" to go.

This is a great pizza joint. I was in the mood but intended on settling for Dominos. Dominos was closed (thankfully) so I tried Rotolo's since it was one of few late night options in town. The pizza was cold by the time I got there to pick it up and back to my hotel. Didn't matter. It was still great. The sauce was excellent, the Canadian bacon was flavorful and the cheese and veggies were fresh. Definitely glad I had to go out of my way. It was worth it. I'll be back.

I popped in for a large carryout pie the other day on my way home from class. I ordered a half pepperoni and half pepperoni, mushrooms, & green peppers; all of this for $20! Yikes!! Regarding the taste. . . it was just an average pie. I was under the assumption that with this place being near campus there would be some value to be had. For my money Hungry Howie's or Mellow Mushroom will get my bid!

I had the worst pasta of my life here. I was supposed to be pesto and shrimp pasta but it tasted like they added all of the mint in the kitchen. Completely inedible. Stick with pizza or calzone.

Hi Yelpers. I'm back! :) So anyone who knows me even remotely well knows that if I'm not answering my cell or my door, I'm probably just at Rotolo's. Yes, it is that good. This isn't your New York style grab a slice and go pizzeria, but more of an Italian bar and grill filled with calzones, pasta dishes, pizza, and of course it wouldn't be Baton Rouge without beer. The food is delicious and the staff is great. My only complaint is that there are no locations in Pennsylvania or Florida and one day I will have to say goodbye to Tim, the hottest bartender in Baton Rouge, and my 5$ calzones on Wednesdays.

I just love Rotolo's. This location I think is better than some of the other franchises. My sister and I got a medium Speciality pizza to go (Artichoke, Spinach, Feta, and we added chicken) and it was good even when we got home to eat it. Their calzones are awesome too!

I would never go to this place if they didn't have 5 dollar calzones. The salads are no good (the Greek was terrible), the pizza is O.K, appetizers are meh (sweet the floor bread sticks a good fatty treat), sides are over priced too. Good specials and good beer deals. One star for each. On any other day but Wednesday go to Mellow Mushroom, it's sub par Italian

Rotolo's is fantastic. The pizzas and calzones are super tasty and reasonably priced. It's my favorite go-to spot in Baton Rouge. The Wednesday calzone deal is great - don't miss out! The lunch specials are good too. Coming from an Italian family, meatballs and spaghetti at restaurants are usually a miss, but Rotolo's is pretty tasty. Make sure to sign up for their email deals & coupons.

Oh Rotolo's, thank you for letting my roommates and I use your boxes for decorations in our apartment... By the end of almost every weekend, we would have a stack of Rotolo's boxes in our kitchen from the several times we ordered from there. Lunch, dinner or late night, Rotolo's was ready to take our order for delivery or pick-up. If we were feeling extra crazy, sometimes we would actually eat in the restaurant! I'm really glad that Rotolo's moved from its Tigerland location to the East Boyd location. If it didn't I don't think I would have given Rotolo's a second look!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
