Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

The pizza is very good! The breadsticks were okay, not something I would probably order again. The cannolis were fantastic! I would certainly order pizza from here again. Keep in mind: it is slightly pricey, but you can tell you are getting fresher ingredients.

This was our first time after driving by all of the time. Not disappointed! Got the pan pizza, cheese, and breadsticks. Amazing! Generous with the cheese on the pizza. Crust and sauce were very good. Breadsticks were SO good. Highly recommend this place.

I came to Pietro's with high hopes. I thought it might be one of Indianapolis' hidden gems. When I arrived, the girl was fairly nice and friendly. The pizza looked and smelled pretty good! I was excited to eat this pizza! After my first bite, I knew I was in trouble. The crust tasted like burnt toast, and the cheese was like rubber. I couldn't differentiate between the pepperoni and the cheese. Maybe it's because there was so much cheese on it, but I'm not sure. The nacho cheese dip didn't even help. Honestly, I think this might be the worst pizza I've tasted in my entire life.. school pizza even tasted better than this. Lunchable pizza tastes better than this, and it costs $1.59! I feel like I could've made a better pizza with my own slice of burnt toast, some pizza sauce, a handful of cheese, and a couple pieces of pepperoni. I won't be returning any time soon.

The stars are for the customer service! After my previous review they have been very kind and gave me a $10 credit! Thank you for that you guys are great people. And your crust is amazing!

Easily ranks up there with the best pizza in town. I grew up in Elkhart and Colombo's Pizza was/is legendary. It's the kind of food that you make it a point to get whenever you happen to return to town. I was very excited to learn that a member of that family had made his way to Indy and was serving similar pizza. I'm glad to say that Pietro's pizza does indeed taste nearly identical to that wonderful Colombo's pizza. It is outstanding. I ordered carryout and my pizza was ready right when they said it would be and Pietro himself checked me out and was very friendly. Our family plans on many return trips in the future. Can't wait to try the sandwiches with the homemade bread and the stuffed pizza as well.

About the only thing I miss from Elkhart since moving to Indy was good Italian food. DaVinci's Calzone being #1. So happy to discover Pietro opened up down here now.

What a Nightmare Service: 0/5 * I called and was hung up on. Arrived and what a drama fest. They were short staffed and backed up on orders. The employee was rude, can't handle pressure/stress. Kitchen: * WARNING: if you order your food. Sit inside and watch how the employees prepare the food. The lady sitting next to me and I witnessed unsanitary work practices. Disgusting Food: 2.5/5 * After waiting an hour the Pizza was ok. Nothing special or worth getting food poisoning. Overall: 0/5 Definitely not worth it. Too bad because supporting local is very important to me. After an hour wait I did get a free drink but it did not make up for the crapy experience & so so food.

LOVE THIS PIZZA! Sorry some of you had bad experiences but thankfully, as many times as I have been, I have never been disappointed. The fact that Im from Elkhart and this place is an extension of Colombos at home is a bonus because I KNOW what a good pizza should taste like and Pietro got it right! Never have to ask for extra cheese and I've never had bad service. I recommend the Pietros special salad...it may be 10 bucks but you definitely get your moneys worth with a container filled to the brim with salad and a fresh loaf of bread. Did I say I loved this pizza?? lol

This is the BEST pizza ever and we are used to the best being from Elkhart, IN! That's right you probably didn't know that's where the best pizza resides. Pietro's comes from a long line of amazing Elkhart pizza makers and has graced Indianapolis with his presence and PIZZA!

Fresh pizzas made to order. No pizzas sitting under a heat lamp. The pizzas here are the way they should be, delicious. Stopped in from Chicago and am extremely pleased with the service, food and can't beat the price! Got a personal pizza with a 20 oz soda pop for $8. Can't go wrong!

The girl at the counter was very sweet but had no product knowledge. It took well over 30 minutes to make our pizzas. When we went we had no idea 5his was CARRY OUT ONLY!! So we sat in the non-existent lobby watching an entire episode of Jeopardy and Fox News before that. Overall experience was marginal at best

We had a birthday party for our daughter at the Jordan YMCA and needed to find a pizza delivery for the party. I was just over 'chain pizza'. Thank you to the person's review who said Pietro's was from Elkhart, that sealed the deal since I'm originally from the area too. We ordered 3 pizzas and they were a huge hit! All of the parents at the party asked the name of the pizza. The manager, 'Pietro' (not sure that's his real name?) took the order for us the day before and the pizza was great, like almost like a garlic bread consistency crust, and the cheese and tomato sauce was so hearty. Nearly everyone went back for seconds! I have nothing but complements about this place; I recommend asking to have the pizza cut in squares, it was a pretty hefty piece of pizza, squares were perfect.

Pietro's is a new locally-owned pizza place tucked away in a strip mall across the street from the Target in Nora. It is easy to drive by the restaurant and not even notice it. They only offer delivery or carry out so you won't be able to sit down and eat there. I ordered a 10" pepperoni pizza and a side of breadsticks with nacho cheese. Both the pizza and the breadsticks were $2 or $3 more than what you would pay at a national chain like Domino's. The pizza is outstanding! It had a generous amount of cheese, the sauce was good and the parmesan on the crust was a nice touch. I wasn't impressed with the breadsticks though; they were pretty dry and bland. Pietro and Nila were working behind the counter and the customer service could not have been better. They were friendly and courteous and they worked quickly, but not at the expense of the food. There are plenty of restaurants that could learn from how the Pietro's staff treats its customers. Their service is as good as it gets!

We wanted to support a new local business. Placed our order on line. Got email confirmation for estimated delivery time. Store is ~ 1 mile from our home. Left delivery instructions. 15 minutes after placing order we called to review the delivery instructions -spoke with owner. Delivery time came and went. Waited 15 min then called again. Driver out. Driver calls for instructions because he missed the drive. Pizza arrives 1 hr 15 min. after order. Not well done as ordered. Center of pizza crust is soggy. Called Pietro. Offered to refire the order or credit future order. Unfortunately we do not wish to reorder ever again. Back to Marcos.

If you are looking for a classic pizza this is the place. My husband and I have tried both the traditional and stuffed pizza and they are the best. Being a native Chicago boy I can say that their stuffed is as good or better than any I have had ! It is apparent they use nothing but the finest of ingredients.

Just had an eight inch mushroom hand tossed. It was almost $10. Mushrooms sauce and cheese were very tasty. Unfortunately, in spite of having a traditional pizzeria style pizza oven the crust was disappointing. It was flat and crispy and flavorless instead of chewy with a yeasty taste. Perhaps this was because it was not hand tossed as advertised-it was run through a machine. By the way, my kids say I am a pizza snob.

We've affectionately named the large, extra cheese and pepperoni pizza the Cowabunga Special because it tastes like what Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pizza looks like.

Just tried my first pizza from Pietro's it was awesome! I moved from Elkhart to Indy in 1989 and have been traveling back to Colombo's in Elkhart to get my favorite pizza. Now Joe's son and Dom's nephew Pietro's has opened in Nora and makes the exact same pizza's. You must try this place for carry out or delivery, you will not be sorry!!
