Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Went around 5 pm, so beat the big dinner crowd, but we had super fast service and great food! Mushroom and swiss sandwich was decent with delicious waffle fries. Perfect portion that left me full but not stuffed! Kids had cheeseburger with regular fries and Mac n cheese with regular fries... They pretty much cleaned their plates which doesn't happen often!!! Hubs had a hamburger horseshoe with white cheese sauce, he said it was pretty good!!! Will go back again!

This place is really good. The atmosphere is great and the service is good at the bar. They have amazing food. Lots of different drinks to choose and beers on tap. Came here for MSU game and they put it on the big tv for us. Very kind and friendly here.

Our burgers were good, plenty of waffle fries and sweet potato fries, but for not being very busy, the service sucked!

First off, let me say that the server we had (Olivia) was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC!!! She was on top of ours rink refills, despite it being St. Patrick's weekend, dinner rush, and a Saturday night to boot. She was friendly and welcoming, and made us feel like the only table in the restaurant. In addition, the food was amazing! My wife and I had been a few times before, but my parents had never been. They were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and the portions were perfect size as always. So you may be asking yourself, why am I lauding the server and the food and only rating our trip 4 stars? Let me start with the hostess station. We called ahead and told them we had a group of 4, but one was in a wheelchair (due to my wife's broken foot) and would need a regular height table as opposed to the bar height, and that it would need to be located near the door for ease of access. We were told that they don't really do reservations, but they would make a note of it. When we arrived about fifteen minutes earlier than we had told them, the hostess said they would get us in as soon as possible. About 30-45 minutes later, I watched a group be sat at a table that would have been accessible and perfect for us. The hostess then came and pointed out a table that I could barely get to on foot and asked if that would work for us. Why didn't they seat the group ahead of us there and we could take the table that would work for us? We had to decline that table and wait another 15-20 minutes for one that would work to open up. I could even justify a five star review despite that. There was a second problem with our visit: the kitchen. We ordered our appetizers and dinner at the same time, then proceeded to wait about 30 minutes for the appetizers to come out, one at a time. Again, all three were delicious! After the apps, we started the wait for dinner. The wait didn't seem too bad; the calzone I ordered came out fairly shortly. The woman who brought the calzone out said the rest would be out in a minute, she just didn't want the calzone to sit and get cold. Well, it did sit and get cold, because the rest of the food trickled out of the kitchen (again, one plate at a time) about fifteen minutes after the calzone got to the table. Apparently, there was a major disconnect between the kitchen and the pizza oven, if that much time passed between even the calzone and a Reuben. Very disappointed that the kitchen has that disconnect, combined with the fact that they send out one plate at a time. Will we go back? Absolutely. We will either just order everything from the kitchen, or everything from the pizza oven.

We have visited this restaurant several times. Love the service, menu and ambiance. Do yourself a favor and go try the place at least once. The pizzas are handmade in a brick oven right by the dining area and they are fantastic. Just a great menu to select from. Large beer selelction to chose from. Nice seating outside and they even have local bands playing on occasion. Nothing negative to say about this place!!

I have been here before and always run into the same problem: slow service. It took an hour for my group of 6 to be served. While I can appreciate that a full house may cause the kitchen to be backed up, I can't appreciate the server not checking in on their table while they wait for their meals. That happened tonight. The good here is good, I usually get a horseshoe and it's good and I'm happy. This time I got the Apple Gorgonzola salad and it was good, except there wasn't really enough Gorgonzola to satisfy me. I believe there should have been more. Overall, not the best experience, but luckily I was with friends and they are the best company to be with in this situation. If you don't mind having to wait for your meal, you'll like this place, the food is good and different, there's an extensive beer/wine/drink menu and their appetizers are unique and great to share around the table.

These guys are simply doing it right! Made it in again while passing through the area and decided to upgrade them to 5-stars after the experience. There with the wife and a kid so I got a close-up look at another 3 menu items. The Thai Chicken pizza is spectacular and unlike anything you can find in the area...it simply blows away the thing they serve at CPK. Wife's margherita pie was delicious as well and the bacon on the kid's burger was damn good & smoky too. Also, we had their salted caramel cake for dessert and damn near staggered out to the car as a result - soooo good. One note for those who've had marginal service...Kayla must not have been your waitress. They seriously need to clone that woman! Three months since I had been there last and she not only recognized me but also remembered exactly what I had ordered. Flawless service from her yet again!

Went again and waited over an hour for our food (including appetizers, came out w/ meals). The restaurant wasn't even half full. They were out of silverware and napkins (waitress said they were being washed) and take out boxes. Pizza seemed slightly better.

This place has really tasty food. My favorite is the wood fired pizzas and strawberry beer! We always suggest this place when entertaining guests from out of town.
(5)Adam L.
This place has the best pizza in town. Made it in there for the first time last weekend. Had the strawberry bruschetta pizza it was to die for. Will be making a trip back out there again. If you haven't been in there it's worth the trip!!
(5)Raymond L.
Pub grub and wood-fired pizzas done right. The tap list is short, but doesn't include wasted space for macro-brews or choices that lots of other places have. Everything on the list is something special, something crafty, and something you won't get many other places. The menu items take classic pub grub choices like burgers, sandwiches and fried indulgences and turn them up a notch with quality ingredients and imagination. The wood fired pizzas offer unique choices with excellent flavor combinations you may not find anywhere else. The service is attentive, helpful, and professional. The five star rating is more because of a complete absence of detractors than from any single stellar item.

Walked into the place and found no one at the hostess station. Had to wait a couple minutes before a waitress going around the tables saw us and brought us to a table. Got some nice music playing and high tech phone that takes your order and also swipes credit cards. Portions are generous and place is clean.

My husband had very low expectations for this place and was pleasantly pleased with his meal. He had the mushroom and swiss burger, coleslaw, and regular fries. He said the coleslaw tasted exactly like KFC, but the fries were well done, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. He was pretty sure the burger was a pre-formed patty, but that it was of a good quality. My daughter had chicken tenders and mandarin oranges. Nothing real remarkable there. The chicken was whole breast nuggets and the breading was pretty good. I had the Apple salad and the cheese ale soup. The soup was sadly unremarkable. Not enough cheddar or beer flavor however the pretzel stick it was served with was quite tasty. I wish they served them as an appetizer. The salad was generous and more than enough for a meal even without the chicken. I can't be sure, but I think the walnuts may have actually been candied on site as they were a little sticky rather than having a crunchy sweet coating like other candied nuts I've had at restaurants. My husband really liked the ordering system. The wait staff have handheld devices they input your order on and swipe your credit card right at the table. The only thing that would make it more convenient is if the handheld device also printed the receipt. Overall, we recommend it and plan to return ourselves.

Walked in at about 6:30 on a sunday. Just wanted a beer or two and to watch some football. Place was totally empty. I bellied up tot he bar, and was totally ignored by the bartender. He acted completely occupied with ANYTHING but getting me a suds. The workers there outnumbered the customers two times, and everyone just acted like I didn't exist. Honestly, the bartender acted really tweaky like he was on something. I got up and left when a plate was bussed back and he intercepted it and he began to eat off it. Just a bizarre experience.

My wife and I decided to catch a late lunch last Saturday around 3pm. Our fist time visit to Fire and Ale. When we walked in there was no one there to greet us. looking at the hostess booth there was nothing to say sit your self or wait to be seated. Looking around we see one table with 4 customer having their meal, some people in the bar area. There was also two employees setting behind a short wall located in the oven area. They took a few seconds and look over the wall to look at us then the heads when back down. We could tell that they was eating and appeared to be more interested in feeding them selfs instead of us. We stood there for several minutes until a server came from the drink area along a back wall and we asked. She said to sit ourself anywhere. We took a high top one table across from the table of 4 customers. We seat there for a another couple of minutes then another server/hostess came walking our way carrying menus. Our thought was great we are getting menus. She walked right pass us and put them at the hostess booth. We set there for another few then out the door we went.

We came in to celebrate some birthdays. I'm from Chicago and there are some great pizza places there. This is my first time at Fire & Ales. We had to wait because there were lots of large groups and it was Friday Night All U Can Eat Fish. We were seated at a great table by the windows. Our group ordered the cod and several different pizzas. It was my first time eating a BBQ Chicken pizza topped with onion rings - strangely enough, it was mighty tasty! The other pizza had an assortment of mushrooms and it was good too. The cod was piping hot and crunchy. The best part of our meal was the LAVA CAKES. Since we were celebrating 2 birthdays we got 2 cakes. One small piece is so rich and delicious. It was worth the wait. Thanks for great service, delicious cake and a fun birthday. It's not quite Chicago pizza but it was really good.

Basically it comes down to this: the food is good, the service pretty much sucks. So if you are wanting to try some good food and are willing to put up with the service, then visit. Reading other reviews here I see the pattern for the last 2-3 years (well, since opening) and I'm really surprised it hasn't been improved. We visited on a Thursday evening - fairly early - 5 pm, so there were a few tables occupied but it certainly wasn't full by any means. We walked in the door and stood waiting for a couple of minutes - noticing the sign that said "please wait to be seated." After waiting more than an acceptable time, we finally decided just to pick a table and sit. Once we did that we discovered an abundance of servers in the back by the bar chatting, seemingly oblivious to the patrons. It took another several minutes for someone to come over and acknowledge that we were even there and asking what we wanted to drink. She also felt the need to ask if we needed menus - duh??? They use smartphones to place the order - it must be a little more efficient in the kitchen because it took the swerved twice as long to scroll thru the menu and find what we were ordering rather than just writing it down. My mother ordered a bowl of mussels (appetizer) as an entree, I had soup and pork tenderloin sandwich and my father had soup and brisket sandwich. Considering soup is something that is already prepared and ready to go short of ladeling it in a bowl, it still took a rather long time for it to make it to the table. Our entrees came shortly thereafter, and I'm always impressed with servers who remember who has what - I mean it IS rather easy - you take orders the same way at every table and then set up your serve that way as well. This waitress had no clue and had to ask with each entree who had what and wait for us to answer. Not good for a server, in my opinion. She came back to check on us maybe twice. We've tried to eat there on a weekend night and it is usually packed with wait times of an hour - I was thinking it was because the food is really good - but I now know that it's most likely because the service is so bad. It's one of the few restaurants in Sherman so it does a good business, I would imagine, but it's not one I would choose repeatedly unless the overall service improves.

Stopped here to try the pizza. Arrived about 5:30 on a Saturday evening. We were offered a seat inside or on the outside area. We selected the inside. A waitress was at our table in just a couple f minutes and took our drink order. Pizza only come in one size, medium. We ordered a half & half. Sausage and mushroom and cheese and veggies. The crust was excellent and cooked perfect. We also ordered the bruschetta for an appetizer but it was made with cream cheese, strawberries, and chopped mint. It was very good. We will definitely go back to this place.

Arrived at 6pm on a Sunday evening. It is fairly busy for early Sunday evening. We have sat here for forty minutes since ordering and the food is starting to trickle to our table of seven. Fries are cold and tasteless, no condiments on the table, waitress stopped by for the first time to check on drinks moments before food started coming. Hmmm, kids are happy with their pizza and Mac and cheese. Involtini is good. Pizza, ok. It would be a bonus if the pizza goodies, ie sauce, cheese, meats etc came even close to the edges of the pizza. The best part if the pizza are the two pieces in the middle. We have has good luck here at lunch, maybe not so much in the evening.

The white, New York style pizza is amazing. No sauce, just white cheese. The beer list leaves something to be desired. They don't put the ABV or any other info about them on their list, so you'd have to recognize the name of one to know what you are getting. Leaves no room for experimentation. I give them credit for having Left Hand Nitro Stout on tap which is a beer from Colorado. The young blonde waitress was nice and the cheesecake was superb. Get more info on your beer list like other breweries. Just a sentence about each one with the ABV.

Waited an easy 15-20 MIN before anyone asked if we needed drink. Drinks delivered with no sugar for tea, or straws or anything to stir it. Were waited on by 4 or5 different people, niether of which were much help. Salad was delivered after my pizza only after i flagged down the hostess and asked her to please grab it. Was told our waitress "handed off" our table to someone else. Wtf? Who does that. The little pda that they ring in ur order on just makes them look like they are texting their freinds the whole time. The pizza was good ( bbq pork), but prob wont return because of the service.

They have great food and the service is fairly well. One of my favorite restaurants for dinner. Reasonably priced.

Came here with my whole family for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and our server was very polite. I had the buffalo chicken mac and cheese and it was delicious. They had a big menu of ales, but I didn't order any. I definitely will next time. This restaurant is close to my house, which is good if I want to go out but not drive all the way into town. Definitely a must go!

A mediocre attempt at Peel Wood Fired Pizza. Save yourself a trip, and treat yourself to a delicious meal made by the masters!

We have been to this restaurant/bar several times. The food has been pretty good until last night. If I could give a -Star I would. I ordered a fire and ale shoe. It was dry, tasteless, inedible. Took it home for dogs. My mom ordered chicken wings... got chicken boneless nuggets. They were dry, tasteless, inedible, and taken home for dogs. The other item was some buffalo mac and cheese. Inedible... pasty and tasteless. Did not bother to take it home to dogs. Staff is uninformed about beer etc. Service was not good. If you go here.... stick with the pizza and salads. The biggest problem with Fire and Ale is the lack of training of the serving staff. Pretty sure that one of the reasons our food was dry and tasteless is that it was sitting under a warming light for too long. Having said that.... the "shoe" was still tasteless.

Went there for dinner on a Friday night. It was busy, but the waitstaff did a great job of taking care of our party of eight. The Involtini appetizers were outstanding! I had the Fish Tacos with the sweet Thai chili sauce. Very tasty! Others had pizza which was done just right...crisp crust...not greasy at all. And the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese is a must have. The beer selection is fantastic as well. We had a great experience. You should give it a try!

We were Springfield to take in the Lincoln sites. At our bed and breakfast, the owner told us about this place. We checked yelp, and were concerned but decided to go anyway. We were not disappointed. In fact it was great. Service was fantastic. My wife and I split a balsamic chicken pizza. Our son had a hamburger. Perfection. The restaurant also has a big beer selection. The only hitch was the salad. We shared the caprice. It had too much lettuce and not enough tomatoes or mozzarella. We finished off with two desserts: lava cake and salted caramel cake. Again very good. Family friendly and very reasonable prices.
