Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great food and salsas. I love their burritos and quesadillas. Also they are open 24/7 !!

So I don't like to eat here too often but today it was convenient. First time ordering their super nachos. It was greasy and the cheese wasn't melted. Tons of sour cream and guacamole but that masked the strong flavor of the meat. Not impressed

Good: It is open very late and is pretty affordable . Not so good: well, it's fast food style. Sloppy without soul. Usually a last resort for me although, I have many friends that enjoy their food.

Quality keeps going down each time we go and this is the last visit for us! After being long time patrons. The quality of the Carne asada has been degrading and this last time was horrid. Strong tasting meat and ridiculous amounts of gristle it was nasty. They didn't even bother to cut most of the meat in our burrito. Pico was also old and gross, Discolored. Disappointed. I was unaware I ordered gristle tacos and a gristle burrito.

I came here on my lunch break and had to repeat myself more than five times just to get my order and they still did not get it right so i pulled up to the window because the lady would not answer back to me while trying to order my food. I waited more than 3 minutes for someone to come to the window and when someone did she was very disrespectful to me as a paying customer. I will not be coming back here again.

California style ghetto Mexican food. If your first time there, order the rolled tacos with guac, quesadilla, or carne asada burrito. Mexican food in Boise is not very good, this place is the best by far!!! I grew up in South Cal, this is close as your gonna get in Boise.

Our favorite Mexican eatery in the area. This location is the nicest of the three. I cannot verify that everything is "fresh" and it is certainly not organic (but this is Boise, after all...), but you get a lot of good food for your money. Go for lunch. They always have great lunch specials.

I don't know why I go to this place - I forgot how bad it is. The quality is horrible. The meat (especially) has no seasonings. I should know not to stop here because there is never any customers in the drive-thru or outside. I'm not sure how they stay in biz, other than it is open 24-7. So, if you are either drunk or desperate - eat at Los Betos. There are several locations around Boise.

Cheap.FANTASTIC. YUMMY. The lime meandered into the sour cream, which meandered into the guac, which became friends with the pico degallo which was explosive with the flavor of tomatoes, cilantro, and reaching... back to the lime. All of the important part of Mexican food. Gigantic portions. You get a LOT for your $. Beans + cheese = proper.Always. One of Boises finest secrets.

This place is a dream come true for a transplanted Los Angelino looking for the closest to authentic Can food as you could get. Came here and ordered the carne asada burrito and rolled tacos with guac and cheese. Everything was tasty and prepared well. Carne Asada meat was full of flavor and the rolled tacos were fried just right! I was throughly impressed. Look for anybody wanting to get great no frills, belly bomb your stomach Can food....this is the place. Also, any Can place that has their own salsa bar that includes spicy carrots and sliced radishes is the Real Deal....none of that Baja Fresh salsa bar crap. I would eat here 4 times a week if I could.

Looking for a quick, cheap burrito? Look no further! This place has great food at great prices. Once in a while they over potato and guac their stuff but no real complaints. The breakfast burritos are delicious as well. Try it all if you can!

Friendly staff and authentic, delicious, and affordable food. Staff can be difficult to understand, but the Carne asada is to-die-for. Real cheap for a massive burrito and drink. 100% recommend this place!

Skip the Orchard and Fairview location and go to this one. The other is not nearly as nice. The Los Betos on State Street is awesome. And, like the other location, this one is open 24 hours, which is great, since I am a night owl. The food is always EXCELLENT, the staff always helpful, and the place is always clean. I go there once or twice a month, and would be there every week if I had more cash. The food is not expensive, I just have very little money. The only thing I found strange was that some burritos are not automatically served with rice, beans, and pico de gallo inside. I'm from California, and every taqueria I'd ever been to there served their burritos that way and you just picked what kind of meat you wanted.. the only exception being the vegetarian burritos. At Los Betos, it is different. Some burritos have the rice and beans inside, some don't. My favorite is carne asada, and I make sure to ask for rice and beans inside the burrito, or else I get a burrito with just the asada meat and guacomole. At the Orchard location, I've several times had difficulty explaining how I want my burrito, due to the language barrier. However, I have never had this problem at the State St. location. Almost always when I go there, the same woman is working at the front counter. Her English is perfect and she is always friendly. The other people I have occasionally encountered when I have gone in have also been easy to communicate with. Yeah.. go to this place.. I sure will again .. soon!

One of the joys in life is finding excellent food at a reasonable price. The chains of Los Betos Mexican Restaurants in the Treasure Valley is just that. Consistently excellent and authentic Mexican food. Fantastic lunch specials. Friendly staff and excellent service. The food is better than just about all of the larger Mexican restaurants. I take all visiting friends and relatives there and they are blown away by the quality and value. Eat there as often as you can! A real treasure of great Mexican food right down the street.

Los Betos blows all other mexican food restaurants out of the water! The price is amazing, and I'm usually one to gripe about food prices. Walking in, it seems like a naked Taco Bell on the inside. They have a TV which usually plays mexican music videos, and a self-serve salsa bar. The staff is always super nice. My favorite is the California burrito - carne asada steak, pico salsa, potatoes and a GANG of cheese. I swear, the burritos are the size of a small child. I've played around with different menu choices and I haven't found an item I didn't enjoy (or pay too much for.) You really get your bang for your buck at Los Betos!! I go here regularly. If you're looking for wimpy, foo-foo, lite, non-fat, tasteless mexican food, this is not the place.

Don't understand the good reviews - this place sucks. Rolled tacos were fried to the consistency of doggie chew toys, and had almost no filling. Guacamole was watery and tasteless. Son's shredded beef burritos dry and tasteless. Not worth what little I paid.

Being from San Diego Los Betos is the best Mexican food in Idaho. All of the food is delicious! My only suggestion would be that the salsa and carrots were consistent with their flavor. Sometimes they are bland without salt or lime flavor and sometimes they are the best I ever had. Packed with flavor to compliment to meal.

The breakfast burritos deserve 5 stars. They are cheap, greasy good, and huge. The lunch and dinner menus are pretty straight forward. For the price, they are decent and always in large portions.

Defiantly a "Once in a while" kind of place but oh so good!!! Gets the job done after a late night of partying or having fun with friends. Its 24 hours, and its actually some of the best greasy Mexican food around! Not figure friendly but tasty!!!!

I love Los Betos! If you're looking for a quick eat and don't want Taco Hell..then Los Betos is the place! They are open 24 hrs/day and are always friendly. It's great after a long night on the town..a definite hangover deterrent! Check them out.. I recommend the Chimichanga!

I was blown away by this place. I thought it might have just been a fast food style drive thru, but I was totally wrong. This food is fantastic and affordable. You might have to wait a few for them to cook everything, but the quality of the food is just amazing. I got the burrito special for $4.99. Tons of refried beans and rice and MASSIVE burritos with some great options like chile verde, rancheras steak, grilled chicken, and more. I was truly amazed by the sheer weight of the bag of food I received for such a low cost. They run a great business and I will be back many times.

On a recent short visit I had a hankering for Mexican food. Living in Los Angeles I have a huge selection of places to choose from but Boise is a different matter. Boise is chain restaurant heaven, not my idea of ediable food. I happened across Los Betos and thought it would be worth a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Prices were LOW and the food was tasty. I had a large cheese quesadilla for a mere $2.99 plus large guacamole and chips for $3.29. Everything tasted freshly made and true homestyle. Would eat here again if I happen this way again.
