Great Burgers! And they just got in a brand new Game room! 2 pool tables, new darts, new touch tunes, place is turning around for the better.

It's not that Cal's is bad, it's just not really good either. It's basically average in about every category. First off, the place is really just blah. White walls with a few fat heads here and there, a couple of TVs although they only have cable so if you are looking to watch something more specific you probably aren't getting it. The bar is generic, with generic chairs. I mean literally this place just oozes "meh". Onto the menu, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, a handful of "dinners". It's really basic. Again, nothing that will disgust you, but you won't walk away from here saying to yourself "I need to come here more often". The beer taps really leave something to be desired. Three taps all full generic macro swill. This isn't a place to come to if you are looking for craft beer. Cal's is what it is. It's a small town bar/restaurant in a town that is quickly growing. Right now there isn't much competition in town so Cal's is doing OK. But further down the line if new eateries begin coming to town Cal's might be in trouble.

Cal's is consistently the place to go for a drink with friends or supper with the family. The menu makes everyone happy with everything from pizza to burgers, wraps, or steak, chicken, and Italian favorites. And the food is always awesome! Be sure to try the selection of homemade smoked meats!

The Norwalk area provides limited options for food so I will admit that we do not eat in town much. We do like supporting smaller town businesses so on a Thursday night, we decided to try it out. The place is a lot more spacious than I thought it would be. There was a huge bar that takes up a good amount of the restaurant yet, plenty of tables. I counted around 30 people there while we were which I thought was pretty good. The menu is not very large but offers enough. I went with the Calvetto and Caesar Salad while my husband, who was craving wings, went with the smoked wings and the beef ravioli. The food didn't take too long to come out and I thought my dish looked good. The wings, they looked ok but smelled good. We have a smoker at home and thus, probably why my husband was not a huge fan of the wings. He said they were fine but not much more. The ravioli was just basic. My Calvetto was good but nothing spectacular. The Caesar salad was good. We may come back again but only to give the smaller town business a chance.

Good selections and cold beer seams both hawkeye and cyclone friendly ; )

I'm giving two stars here because while the location is proximal and the staff is mostly friendly I don't really feel like they're on top of their game. I felt like I had to explain simple things, deal with unnecessary attitude and got charged for things that wouldn't fly in a downtown establishment.
