Saturday night dinner with some friends. All of our food was delicious, despite the unimaginative menu that has ONE vegetarian item (black bean burger). Three stars explains the bad service. It was not busy; there was plenty of seating. However, we had to wait too long for EVERYTHING - water, appetizer, ordering, paying our bill, etc. Our server also had a bit of an attitude, as if she was inconvenienced by our presence.

Came to Woodfire grille for dinner 4 tables were filled with people including the bar. I ordered nachos they arrived cold Then we ordered a chicken sandwich that took 40 minutes to receive. Ridiculous. There is no reason for this. It was not in the very least busy. I asked for a manager and none never even came and apologized.

Stopped for a late lunch on a Wednesday and was super pleased with the food. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. My daughter ordered the Mac & cheese with bits of bacon and it was insane!

This place is totally mismanaged. Beware a 'food wait' if you sit at the bar. Here I am credit card in hand, sitting an an empty bar, ready to spend and the bartender is not allowed to put in a food order for 30 minutes. They claim a staffing issue. You're a restaurant, sort yourself out so I can spend my money. I left rather than sit here for an unheard of 'food wait'. Very disappointing.

This place has Shepard's Pie on the menu!?! Swoon. I'm traveling and this place is close to my hotel and Yelpers said it was good... So here I sit (yes, I'm writing this review as I sit here drinking my delicious IPA). This place is pretty great and the atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for. I almost feel at home :-) They could use more beers on tap, but they do have an extensive list of bottled beers. And wine. Lots and lots o vino. Basically everything on the menu looked amazing and I can't imagine even the pickiest of eaters not finding something they would be happy with. If I'm ever back in Iowa.... I will visit again. Well done guys!

The food was good any the atmosphere was nice. Our waitress was fantastic! It's a little bit on the pricey side for what you get, but I can't really complain. I will say that while the food is good, it's nothing special. That being said, I'm sure I'll be back.

I've been to this restaurant several times. Good atmosphere and decent service. I also feel like for the type of restaurant it is the servings sizes are decent and generously priced. The meatloaf is especially tasty. We did get bbq brisket nachos that were a little disappointing. The chips were puffy and could have done with more cheese. The brisket however, was in fact delicious.

We had taken a hiatus from eating out, and upon our return, there were some wonderful surprises at Woodfire. For starters, the Balsamic Bruschetta is as good bruschetta gets in the Q.C., and the grilled Ahi was delicious for a heart-healthy entree. Very excited to see the newly remodeled Woodfire soon.

I travel a lot for work and this is a staple when I'm in the quad cites. They have a great beer list, not just for the cities but anywhere. The staff is friendly and the remodel really opens up the bar area. When it's nice out they have a great outdoor patio as well. I usually stick with the seafood which is fantastic. The steaks are good as well. Since I try to stay on the healthier side when eating for work I haven't tried the comfort food. It looks awesome and I've heard it tastes as good as it looks. Definitely recommend if you are in the davenport area.

I joined a group of friends on a business trip at Woodfire Grill. One of my friends ordered the onion straws...wow...big order and "super" tasty. I ordered the Ribeye steak and was pleasantly pleased at the quality of the beef, the tenderness and the size for the price. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The dining are was pretty spread out so there was no issue with crowding. I selected $$$ below but based on the size of the steak, a couple could easily split a meal and get away at $$ with each having a glass of wine or beer. Definitely a place to return to.

It's a nice place. Kind of upscale, but not so upscale overall... I got some sirloin.. it was tasty but it was also a tad grissly. My (older) kids like the pasta there. There's a kids' menu too... The meatloaf kids meal was HUGE for a kids' meal, and it was presented just like the adult one, just a touch smaller. Tasty, and an amazing deal considering what we usually get from kids' menus. Plenty of possibilities for bar drinks or wine selection. Service was good overall... Prices aren't too excessive, but it's definitely not a cheap dinner. I don't think you NEED to dress up, or that you NEED a reservation, but you really couldn't go wrong if you did dress nicer and make a reservation as well.

Great pulled pork egg rolls and bruschetta. The bar area is now twice as big. Can't wait for the Live at Five concerts here this summer. Something like 50 drafts and 300 wines here now!!

The waitstaff was wonderful. The place is under remodel but still accessible. I was disappointed with the lack of vegetarian options other than salad. I wish they had a more modern and diverse menu like they used to.

Hmm. Well not all that other yelp reviewers indicate. Menu ok, both entrees were overdone. Servicer was eager to please, but the restaurant is just ok. Wine list thin, and don't waste your dollars on their 'reserve' wines. The bottle we had was past it's prime. If you are here on a Sunday evening it is probably an ok place to dine. Just stick with the simple dishes on the menu.

They have a very good vegetarian appetizer option (the trio) and if you like hummus or guac you'd better try it! Two items on the menu have their homemade soy and black bean meat substitute which is good! My husband got the veggie burger and I got the vegetarian burrito and they both were awesome. Service was good. Our server accidentally spilled a dish I wanted to take home and gladly got us new batches to take with us. Very kind!

Solid Experience First Time Out! Tried this place out on a Wensday and arrived soon after it opened. I was immediately greeted by the decor, which tried to combine a bar waiting area for cocktails with a warm hearth motif. The dining room was mostly empty, but that was to be expected for the time of the morning, and it began to quickly fill halfway through our meal. We ordered the Pepper Jack Potato Soup and found it excellent with the right amount of spice, with cut potatoes that were not over done. We decided to try the wood fire pizzas they had, and ordered a half BBQ chicken and Spinach Chicken Alfredo pizza. It came out in an appropriate amount of time, hot and looked appetizing. I found the Spinach pizza to be the best, with well balanced flavor and good sized chicken pieces. The BBQ was good as well, but my fiancé preferred that side. As for the service, it was prompt, attentive, and polite. In addition the menu was well laid out and looked new. Our waiter made sure to check on our table frequently and seemed actually interested in whether we were satisfied. The prices were reasonable and our lunch for two cost about 24 bucks. Not bad. I will wait until I eat here again to decide if five stars is warranted. But be assured I will be going back soon.

Rude beyond RUDE We walked in there for the first time and was UNPROFESSIONALLY greeted by the staff. We asked to sit in the bar area which had more people than the dining room. The place was almost empty at the peak hours. She threw the menus down on the table and left us standing without knowing that was the table for our group. She got mad that we didn't go to the empty dining area. Her attitude was very bad to work at any places especially in the restaurant. So we decided to leave before she can spit on our food. The manager came to talk to us but the damage was already there. Never go there again ever!!!!!

The food truck cheeseburger burrito is amazing! Actual scotch at the bar, and great bartender. Combine dinner with a show at the Redstone Room and you're set for the night.

I had a solid dinner at Woodfire on a happenin' Friday night. The patio area was packed with people trying to listen to the band that was playing but I was more than happy to sit inside. I picked Woodfire because its menu clearly lists vegetarian options. Always a plus when you don't have to ask a million questions about what you're eating. Although I ended up having to ask a million questions anyway...I ordered a vegetarian burrito off the menu and asked my waitress if I could make it vegan. After explaining that "vegan" meant no dairy (yes, I know...veganism isn't big in Iowa but I was in town for work), my waitress said she thought that the burrito could be made vegan by omitting the cheese in the burrito but she promised she'd check with the kitchen to see if that was the case. While waiting to hear back from our waitress, my party noshed on the vegetarian trio appetizer - hummus, pico de gallo, and guacamole. It came with a few crostini and pieces of pita. My favorite was the hummus but the pico was good, too. There were three of us sharing the app and we ran out of crostini/pita and had to ask for more. (had we known that we'd be charged an extra $3, we wouldn't have asked - might have been nice for the waitress to tell us) Our waitress came back at one point and assured me that the burrito could be made vegan and told me that the chef wanted me to know that there'd be a Boca burger in the filling so I wouldn't freak out and think they'd given me meat. That was a nice touch. But...my burrito arrived moments later...with a huge dollop of sour cream. Vegan FAIL. I did my best to immediately scrape it off because I was starving and didn't want to have to wait for more food. But my enchilada sauce ended up being full of sour cream and I wasn't able to use any of it. That made my burrito a little dry. But it was still very filling and flavorful. I'd definitely go back to Woodfire the next time I'm in town because they're nice enough to offer multiple vegetarian options. I'll just be sure to quadruple check when it comes to whether or not an item can be made vegan.

Visiting the area and this restaurant was recommended by the hotel. The food was very good. Had the French Onion soup and Chicken Marsala. Reasonable priced for the portion. One to visit again next time in the area. While the service was okay noticed the waitress appeared very stoic. Smile and relax. The only thing that kept me from indicating 5 stars.

The service was great, the cajun chicken tortellini was fantastic, I'd recommend the strawberry mojito for a cocktail, and the creme brulé was a nice ending to an enjoyable meal.

Ok I ordered a chicken burrito no peppers or onion it came with it on it any ways and I didn't say anything but the bar tender noticed and he offered to give me free desert without me saying anything at all! Supper amazing!!!

The margarita and artichoke dip were wonderful but things went downhill from there. I had the salmon salad and the fish was completely raw in the center. They told me it was suppose to be that way but it wasn't described as such on the menu. My son's sirloin burrito was drenched in cumin, as if that is the only seasoning that makes a food taste south of the border. The meal ended with a brownie that was so hard we could barely cut it with a knife. Such a bummer.

This is my favorite "nice" place to eat in the QC. Great menu, wonderful wine, and martini list! My favorite dish is the adult Mac and cheese! Second fav would be the meatloaf. Atmosphere is pleasant, service is always good, and we've never had trouble getting a good table.

I was a party of 6 and only one person had a good meal. We used to love this place but am not sure if we will return. The steaks were tough and we're flavorless. I had the noodles and the beef was so bad in the dish I thought I might get sick because it tasted old. Very disappointed!

The food at Woodfire Grill is usually very good, however, I am frequently frustrated with the service. In general, it seems like the servers need some training on how to serve patrons who are at a business lunch. They are slow to greet the table, slow to take orders, interrupt conversation to check on the meal, and awkwardly refer to gender in a business lunch where gender shouldn't be in attention. Yes, I am a female, but I am hosting this lunch so please don't say, "ladies first" when taking orders, especially when I've indicated "my guests" may go ahead and order. Overall, the ambiance is nice, the food is good, it's one of the few places quiet enough to have a business conversation downtown. As I said, the food is good, I highly recommend the salmon salad.

Not good at all. Brisket was so fatty couldn't eat it. No bbq sauce either. Flavor was smoke and that's all. Party of four and no one enjoyed their meal. Staff was friendly enough. Won't go back.

Places like Woodfire Grill are a gem to the Quad Cities. The atmosphere of this establishment is something you would find in a larger city like Chicago. Our server Brett was outstanding, he really knew the menu (drinks and food). We had the Pretzel Fondue for our appetizer and that was really delicious. For dinner I had the woodfire pizza, 1/2 Buffalo Chicken 1/2 MARGHERITA. Each was delicious. My mother had their Country Fried Pork Tenderloin and that was really delicious but I enjoyed my pizza more. I must say, if you don't mind paying a little more, this place is a great won't do you wrong! My only complaint is the Red Stone Room is above the restaurant so if a band is warming up for their later performance, you can hear EVERYTHING in the restaurant.

Stopped in for dinner while visiting relatives. The menu is great, the service was great, but it was a little pricey. That will not stop me from visiting again next time we are in town. The overall experience was good enough for us to come back

NEVER AGAIN!!! I went to this place because of the amazing reviews. The menu is completely overpriced. I returned my salmon salad for several reasons: 1) requested no onions...onions everywhere 2) there was supposed to bleu cheese...one crumble 3) the salmon was the smallest overcooked and disgusting flavored sauce On top of all of this, no one ever apologized. So I watched my coworkers eat, but at least they didn't have to pay for a $20 salad.

It was a gorgeous July night, 5:30pm when we walked I yo the grill. There were two people already dining inside. We asked to be seated outside and the manager said the patio was closed! Needless to say, we walked out. NO customer service.

Really nice atmosphere. The service was excellent. I had the saturday night special for 26.99 which was the seafood bucket. This included about a dozen crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, and sausage. The only reason i have 4 stars is because i went there to try a pizza, and yes I was there a little bit later in the night which was around 9:45 but they told me that the staff wasn't pleased with the remaining dough so they weren't comfortable serving any more pizza on the night. Now, with that being said I appreciate them just being honest with me. I know some places would of just served it anyway. I quickly forgot about the pizza though after seeing and eating the seafood bucket. Great drink menu as well, especially their signature cocktails. The dreamsicle is a must try!

Went here on a Friday night for a friend's Bachelorette Party/Dinner and was surprised by the variety of the menu. I chose the Ahi Tuna Salad and it was seared perfectly. I tried a small piece of the Buffalo Chicken pizza and the crust was great, flavor was awesome too - a bit spicy which I like but fair warning for others. The ambience is nice and was only a bit loud since a local music festival was in town with a venue right outside the restaurant. We made a reservation since we had a larger group but there were plenty of tables to spare around us. The waitress did a great job and with a table of 10+ there were no issues with our food orders.

We've eaten here a few times but haven't gone back in a while bc I'm gluten intolerant & can have only like 2 things on the menu / tho my husband has enjoyed good food. Also they are not at all helpful for GF people- not even a GF salad dressing available. Not all staff is very friendly.

Started with fried pickles. SO YUMMY! tempura/beer batter, dill slices with chipotle ranch dipping sauce was a perfect starter. The pizza is made with incredibly fresh ingredients. We ordered the Chicken, Spinach and Garlic with white sauce, easy to share at 18"! Our waitress, Kelsey was great and super friendly!

A week later, I am craving more lobster ravioli - absolutely delicious! This was my second visit - the first time, I had the cajun chicken tortellini, which I found a tad too spicy, but I'm a wimp. The bread they serve to each table was also delicious, bar drinks and wine were tasty and reasonably priced. Two of my companions had a chicken dish (tortellini and jambalaya) - they both said the chicken wasn't seasoned at all and was rather plain, one mentioned gristle in her chicken. But, I enjoyed my entree, although a bit pricey for about 6 raviolis. I was super surprised there were a lot of open tables on a Saturday night (usually a bad sign) but I'm told 7:30 is a really late time to eat in the Quad Cities....go figure. I would definitely come back again. *Edited - they ruined the lobster ravioli! Last time I went (Sep'12) the served it in so much sauce it was like a soup with soggy spinach leaves in it.. A couple of the raviolis had no lobster in them. Bummer!

Not a great experience. Food is priced above quality, staff were lethargic, perhaps weighed down by the tray stands they carry around with them everywhere. Not a place to grab lunch in an hour, nor a place to go if you expect quality food or service for the high price.

I was downtown today for the Arts festival at the Figge and while that was disappointing - our lunch at Woodfire was not. I had been there previously (about a year ago) and while not awful, it didn't leave a lasting impression. I was on the company expense account so I didn't mind the higher prices. I believe I got the Salmon which was 19 bucks. I remember taking it back to my hotel room and it was just average at best. Not awful (see Rudy's Taco's review!) but not great. Well today changed my mind. My party was the first of the day and the server was great, very friendly and attentive. I have come to the conclusion that the sandwiches are the best bet on the menu. For 9 bucks I got the colossal club and it was ENORMOUS. Seriously it was the largest sammy I've ever had. The sweet potato fries (for an extra upcharge) were also delicious. In fact I took the entire sandwich home with me and it didn't even fit into the to go box it was that big. I had to do some surgery on it to get the lid to close. All in all - stick with the sandwiches - they are a good value. I don't think I'd order an entree there again unless someone else was paying for it.

My family had lunch here last Saturday. We had 10 adults and a baby. The restaurant was DEAD in the afternoon when we arrived. There was another party of about 7 and a couple and that was it. The restaurant itself is very nice. Had a calm, welcoming vibe. The layout is spacious and I can see how large parties would work great here. The food took about 45 minutes! It looked like they were understaffed but come on... it's a Saturday! After the couple that was dining left, there were just 2 tables. The server did his best but the kitchen took way to long to get the food out. I had the Iowa pork chop and it was overcooked and dry. Some of the other dishes though, were really good. Highlights were: ribeye chicken pot pie fried chicken (my favorite, perfectly seasoned and fried) Portions were huge and prices were a little on the high end for the type of food

Wonderful atmosphere , & affordable. Connected to the redstone room. Love the architecture and downtown feel. You can't go wrong here. They also have an outdoor patio.

Cajun tortellini taste like a bland cream sauce drenched in cajun you really just taste cajun no meat or cheese tortellini, I've had much better. The jambalaya over rice was probably the most disappointing it was kind of a bowl of mush. The chicken and spinach pizza with white sauce was okay but sill lacked flavor. You should know that when someone's menu is so extensive they really have no specialty and just make subpar everything. Price is way too expensive for quality and location. Service was nothing to write home about. I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

My three experiences at Woodfire have been pretty good, miserable, and blah, respectively. My first trip was at lunch and the chicken Caesar salad was pretty good. My second trip featured a cheddar bison burger that was ordered medium, cooked well, and topped with food-service grade American cheese while being served on a stale bun. My last experience was the meatloaf which had little flavor outside of the chunks of onion, although the mashed potatoes that came with it where pretty good. There are better values for your money in Davenport like Trattoria Tiramisu, Thunder Bay Grille, Bix Bistro, and *gasp* Granite City.

  • Cliff C.

Nice atmosphere, background music too loud. Steak barely rare when medium ordered, grisly. Most entrees way overpriced and this was on my business expense tab. Overall definitely NOT on my revisit list!!...nor on the list of my four colleagues...all agreed a poor value. Servers friendly, though not at all attentive enough. Not up to average.....add pricing and it's a poor choice.

Everything looks good on the menu but prices are on the high end. I was looking for a good steakhouse in the area, but realized this wasn't quite the main item on the menu. The thin crusted pizza was great and almost big enough to share. Sangria wasn so great. Let's hope the new polished menu (as of 10/2011) will drive more crowd in.

My fiancée and I ate at Woodfire this evening for our 5 year anniversary and it was eehh. We started with the truffle parmesan fries, the serving size was ginormous but the taste was very average and I definitely would not order those again. They tasted like someone literally fried some thick cut fries, threw some parmesan on them and some shredded cheese, pretty standard and something I can make at home for less. For dinner my fiancée ordered the jerk chicken which he said was pretty standard and he can make similar chicken at home, however the mashed potatoes were pretty good. I ordered the chicken marsala which was very delicious along with the mashed potatoes. The restaurant was pretty quiet, but then again it was Thursday around dinner time, I am sure on the weekend's it is busier. Our server did her job efficiently and was friendly, no complaints there. Overall, I do not think I would want to come here again. The food was very average.

I have consistantly liked woodfire, at first. Then over the last year or so things seemed to not be quite right - food quality down, service slower than usual. But we still supported them. Until the last straw. We ordered burgers but the waiter didn't ask us how we wanted them cooked. Didn't think much of it at the time. Then they came out with mine as medium and the other as medium rare. I sent mine back light heartedly still thinking not much about it and no big deal. About this time we realized the other burger was medium rare and we sent that one back as well also light-heartedly. (we take them medium-well) However it was at this time that while they were back there we overheard the kitchen staff badtalk us saying we "shouldn't order medium if we don't want medium". (in a rather angry way) We didn't order them in any way bc we weren't asked. And even after that we still werent asked. The one that was medium was brought up to medium well but the med-rare was only brought to medium which was still inedible. The waiter never apologized or asked how we took it even after we requested them be cooked further. Thank goodness we don't eat them well bc they still wouldve been undercooked. The Waiter took one off our check but still no apology and the words of the kitchen rung in our ears.

Icy roads kept us in the neighborhood tonight, and I can't believe we waited this longg to visit the Woodfire! Despite two large groups on top of their usual Saturday evening crowd, service was excellent. Nice atmosphere and great food were the icing on the cake. I started my evening with the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna. SO good!! The vinegary cole slaw that it was served atop was pretty tasty as well. I expected the whiskey srirachi sauce wasn't as spicey as I anticipated but still a perfect accompaniment. I followed that with the Black & Blue Burger made with Maytag Bleu cheese. Excellent!! My friend had the French Dip with a side salad, which she enjoyed. Hope to stop back one more time before we leave town. It's totally worth it!

While I have a special place in my heart for Davenport, I'm not the biggest fan of the much too prevalent chain restaurants crowding the city. That's why I like Woodfire Grill so much - it offers something a bit different that the typical Chilis/TGI Fridays menu. My family and I dined there last night, and had an excellent experience. The wine selection was decent, and very well priced, while the food selection offered a wide variety to appeal to anyone's palate. I had the whiskey glazed salmon and my only complaint was the side of vegetables were cold. My fam loved their meals too (btw - huge portions, so be forewarned), and the service was attentive even though it got pretty crowded as the evening went on. BTW - the spinach and artichoke dip is a must try. Pretty damn awesome. Word is that this place has an excellent outdoor seating area in the summer, so might be something to check out in the coming months. Next door you can find live music too, so that's always a plus for some post-dinner enjoyment.

This place is the best bet for delicious food in Davenport. I have only lived in Iowa for a month and have already been to Woodfire Grill twice. In an area stuffed full of chain restaurants, this place is a welcome addition to the dining scene. The food is delicious and well-priced. The decor is very tasteful and the atmosphere is fun and more upscale. It makes me feel like I'm back in Chicago, which is a feeling I do not get at the Olive Garden. The only complaint is sometimes there are bands playing at Mojo's, which is great, but loud when someone opens the door to the Woodfire. I hope this place stays open. I really hope the Quad Citians can tear themselves away from the chains on Kimberly and 53rd and take their business to Woodfire. It's a welcome addition to the area!

BF and I came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Beautiful interior; the decor, wall color choices and lighting were wonderful! Had no issues with background music/other distractions. We started with an order of the onion rings with chipolte aoili and they were super good! The best onion rings ever and the sauce was delicious. BF enjoyed their unique beer list and I ordered a caramel apple martini. My drink was good but probably not something I would order again. Other specialty martinis looked enticing though. I had a hard time choosing an entree because a lot of the choices sounded like they would be very yummy. I ended up ordering the roasted cashew and chicken salad. This was also something I would not order again. With all of the fruit and a super sweet sugary dressing, it was just too sweet for my taste. A spicy citrus dressing would have been nice to balance all of the sweet flavors in the salad. BF ordered the hickory chicken with sugar whiskey glaze and really liked it. The really big issue we had was the service. It was very friendly, but slow. We were there for nearly an hour and a half, needed drink refills that ended up coming at the end of the meal, and our appetizer plates, bread plates and empty bread basket sat on our table the entire meal. There seemed to be no waiter's assistants to pre-bus or refill waters or any of those basic things. Also a lot of the servers were rather frantic in their demeanor. The kitchen is at the opposite end of some of the tables, which was a jaunt for them, but servers literally jogging through the restaurant is distracting to say the least. We did look at the dessert menu, but were worried it would take too long and we had to be on time to a show so we decided to just skip dessert and get the check. Overall, the atmosphere and food choices were great! The service was friendly but very slow. I would come back here again though if we were back in the area and didn't have to worry about any time issues.

Great salads and nice environment. Service was friendly without being over the top. The shrimp appetizer had great flavor and a zippy little sauce. Wish the music hadn't been top forty and loud. It could have been romantic without the Black Eyed Peas. But that might be a truism. I'm not so up on my truisms.

A great staple restaurant in Davenport's downtown - I am a huge fan of the meatloaf. This is a great business/take the parents lunch spot and good for unwinding with a tasty adult beverage after a long workday. The bar is so comfortable, with plenty of seating for eating. I also recommend the salads - the salmon, fajita & strawberry chicken are well flavored and definitely filling. Can't wait for warm weather & the open outside seating. Please, restauranteurs, open more spots like this downtown! We need them! Also, I listed Woodfire as "dressy" because casual in Davenport means elderly ladies in kitten sweatshirts. It's nice to make an effort & it's perfectly appropriate to do so at Woodfire.

Woodfire was the one "nicer" restaurant I went to during the week and I definitely did not regret it. I had the halibut which was on special over wild rice with some veggies. The fish was cooked well and excellently seasoned. The dish overall had very good flavor too. The coworker I was with got the meatloaf which he said was also excellent. They have a very wide selection of beers as well. So if you're looking for a good dinner in the quad-cities area, definitely consider woodfire.

WAY overpriced for the quality you get. Considering the name I was expecting a nice wood coal taste to the meat. Steak was cooked properly, but had very little flavor and was drowned in sauce, onions, and mushrooms. There was no "woodfire" taste at all. Horseradish potatoes were cold. The bruschetta appetizer is a joke. It's basically diced tasteless tomatoes on crackers for $9. Service was inattentive. I've had much better meals in Davenport for a lot less money. You definitely don't get nearly what you pay for.

The decor is very nice and the service is good, but the food is completely over-priced. My wife and I tried the crab garlic bread, the fish & chips and the baja tacos. The fish & chips were okay, but the fries were cooked only once so they were soft instead of crispy. Still edible though. $18 for something a little worse than a long john silvers meal is too much. The crab garlic bread was okay, but they used canned crab, or worse- if they didn't use canned they made the good stuff taste like it was canned. Also they served it with marinara instead of something like an alfredo and the flavors just didn't go together. Imagine someone tossing a piece of boiled fish on top of your spaghetti- it's like that. The baja tacos were just gross and had a weird flavor. My wife ended up just eating half of my dinner instead. The rice with hers was inedible and tasted like rust. For $65 you think the quality would be way up there, but it just wasn't. We've had okay meals here before, but this experience probably cross this restaurant off our list.

The food has always been good! The only reason why I gave it four stars is because the last time I was there the service was really slow.

Good variety on menu. Warm bread while you wait. We split the Samurai Burger which was really good! We added sweet potato fries which were really good. Great dessert menu as well! Our only complaint would be that we were seated near the kitchen and it was quite loud. But the staff was great and the food was awesome. That's the reason we were there! Also, great value for food!

Located near the Mississippi River in a renovated area of downtown Davenport, this is an upscale place with a modern decor, separate bar area, dining room, and patio during summer. If you are a meat fan, do not miss the BBQ pork shank. Not a usual cut and it was mouth-watering Midwestern porcine goodness. Goes great with a class if zinfandel. Good place for a date or special family dinner out. Service was personal and friendly without being intrusive. Definitely worth a trip.

My husband and I had a split decision on Woodfire Grill. He loved the onion rings; I thought they hadn't been cooked long enough given how thick the breading was. The chipotle sauce with them was pretty flavorless, though we're from Texas so perhaps expect more heat than Midwesterners. His shephard pie was OK. I had a flatbread pizza in which the flatbread wasn't fully cooked through so it was chewy rather than crispy. In my book, that's just wrong. I pointed this out to the waitress so maybe this will be corrected. For the prices, I felt things were just a little bit off. Nice location and decor; great billboards through Davenport.

Saturday night dinner with some friends. All of our food was delicious, despite the unimaginative menu that has ONE vegetarian item (black bean burger). Three stars explains the bad service. Came to Woodfire grille for dinner 4 tables were filled with people including the bar. I ordered nachos they arrived cold Then we ordered a chicken sandwich that took 40 minutes to receive. This place is totally mismanaged. Beware a 'food wait' if you sit at the bar.

Great pulled pork egg rolls and bruschetta. The bar area is now twice as big. Can't wait for the Live at Five concerts here this summer. Something like 50 drafts and 300 wines here now!!

This is my favorite "nice" place to eat in the QC. Great menu, wonderful wine, and martini list! My favorite dish is the adult Mac and cheese! Second fav would be the meatloaf. Atmosphere is pleasant, service is always good, and we've never had trouble getting a good table.

Very kind!

  • Patrick S.

The food is good but not spectacular. A great variety of food and wine. The service is slow and non-attentive, which makes for a long meal time.

Ate here this past Tuesday evening (was in Davenport on business). Had the jambalaya and it was excellent. Environment was nice and our server was very professional.

Woodfire is a nice place to go eat for a trendy atmosphere. The pizza is always good, but my favorite is the spinach with bacon salad dressing. Very few places like this around the Quad Cities. It's hard to go wrong here.

A delicious menu and the wait staff was very courteous. We have eaten here a few times and the food has been very nice both times.

Tonight was my first visit to this restaurant. The service was attentive and the food good. I would eat here again if in the area.
