Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Village Inn
My co-worker and I were just driving back home from Iowa and passed through Davenport for lunch. We randomly just picked Village Inn for lunch today and we just adored the charm and service at this restaurant. Our server, Dave started off with a funny story about his pedicure that was really a manicure that cost $36. He was funny, nice, and is a very competent server that remembered our orders and special requests (compared to my traumatic experience with service at Frontier restaurant and bar in Chicago). He also gave us free pie because it is "free pie Wednesday" and pointed out the bill shows a price for the pie for free pie inventory purposes, but it would be backed out upon check out. Food was fresh and prepared well for the price and generous in portions. If Village Inn was located in Chicago, I would definitely be a repeat customer!

Food u quite good. Kudos to the kitchen staff. Some difficulty getting seated. Service is a bit poor with some staff having a pretty bad attitude for being early in the shift

They have always had great food and plenty of seating for the whole group. The V. I. B deal is great and I love the fact that I get breakfast when ever I want. Allot of time at this location the service is not what it should be, the food makes up for that.

Horrible. Table in front of us was dirty with syrup all over it. Waitress said she could wipe it up real quick, I said no that's okay we'll take the next one. Don't know why she couldn't have wiped it up a long time ago but anyway, eggs were cold & runny when I asked for them to be firm in the middle. They redid them, but still they were kind of runny but at least this time hot anyway. My milk was luke warm, waitress didn't ask if we needed anything & the bill took forever to receive. My son had two free pie coupons from his school, but they said they could only take one, even though we both purchased 2 meals. Sometime if you're in there & seated next to the windows, take a look at the blinds, they're filthy. Some of the windows were also dirty, floor had food & napkins on it, I don't know how any customer could not see this. I'm sure if the health department was there they would see it, but anyway we won't be back that's for sure.

I really can't compare this to any other Village Inn, because this is the only one I've ever gone to on a regular basis. The food is good, and the pie is good. It's a nice place to have a meal, either breakfast or lunch (and I'd say dinner too, but honestly I've never ended up there at dinner, so I'll have to just assume that is the case). The really winning point of this restaurant is its staff. The owner of the place (Kelly, I think?) is *usually* present and helping to seat people. She really goes above and beyond to make sure that she is accomodating people's needs. I had a couple of experiences which were less-than-stellar, and she wasn't there at the time. But when I mentioned the issues to her the next time, she took care of the issues immediately. Seriously, if you ever have a rude person wait on you, you can be well-assured that the ownership would not have acted the same way. She is there most days. My coworkers and I have a really short time span in which we are allowed to take for lunch... Kelly takes our orders over the phone, and she has them ready for us when we arrive. We get in and out in less time than anyone else due to this! This is the type of service you can expect from them... they really take care of us. I've also noticed that there is always the occasional bridge group who comes to eat and play cards. The waitstaff really seemed to be helpful, even helping them clean up and set up quickly after they ate. So, while I'm not generally the type to review a chain-coffee-shop, I figured this particular branch deserved a nice review. While I wouldn't say it's "five stars" in the way a non-chain-restaurant can be, it earns every single star through its real attention to the customers... and the PIE!! (Wednesdays are "free pie" day...)

Nice and friendly, the IHOP sister. The only thing I can add to the other reviews is I have had good service here consistently.
