Did a Facebook poll with friends to find the best steak place in the QC, and Tappa's was the top choice. I took my parents there for their anniversary and from the minute we walked in the staff was very friendly and bought my parents a drink to celebrate. The steaks are giant, so be prepared for leftovers! Three steak dinners and about 4 drinks (beer & wine) each bill came to $120.

Local family owned steakhouse restaurant celebrating 33 years in business. Funky, divey atmosphere with great steaks and service. Reasonable prices. Many regulars were known by the owners and staff. Felt like a family place. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Hash brown side was tasty. We'll be back and will recommend Tappa's to our friends.

Best little steakhouse in davenport. Prices are very reasonable. Service quick. Staff very friendly

We just love Tappa's. Very layed back atmosphere. Best steaks in town. Also have to mention the hash browns that are fabulous. I also love that I am supporting a local business. They also make great Manhattans!!! Always make you feel welcome and make you want to come back.

My wife and I love Tappas! It is a family Business and they treat you like family. Great steaks and food. Very basic. Good drinks. The atmosphere is unique, loud, fun and rustic. It is not the place to go for a romantic dinner for two. It is the place to go to to have fun, party and enjoy great food and service. Reminds me of a corner bar in Chicago.

OK! Went there last Friday for our date night! Thought we give it a try! It is a family restaurant and it feels that way! Sat at the bar and had a nice dinner that included exchanging stories with the one of the owners. The place is a little old and well used but don't let that talk you out of going there! I ordered the 10 oz filet and it was cooked EXACTLY the way I like it. The hash browns were interesting, but good as well! I will be going back!

The meat is good. The food is good. Don't expect much by the way of veggies. Honestly though.. the "specials" will still run you $20+ per head. And really.. the place has checkered tablecloths and wall menus that look like you must have come in hoping for take-out. Good food. The prices FAR exceed the fact that you are in a "not so special" part of town where the prices suggest you are in a much better part of town than you are when you come here. Honestly it's in the low-rent district compared to most other locales. However, it's a family-run business, and that part is good, and the people there are nice. My feeling is that it either needs to be a better part of town or a lower price per plate. I liked the food but it's way over the top for price considering the locale.

Met a friend for dinner here last night ; it was a disappointment. No atmosphere...unless lack of same carries some cachet. Waitress was consistently rude, though there were only two other people in the restaurant when we first ordered. Eighteen dollars for a 4" x5" piece of halibut ???...nicely done, but only included one side....got a good sweet potato. No sign of a vegetable....Next time I'll buy a pound of halibut and a half dozen sweet potatoes and stay home. My usual 20% tip turned into a 10% tip , which was too high considering the surly service. Will not return.

Talk about off the beaten path! This place is a hard to find, out of the way, hole in the wall, but man can they do steak. I really don't know if its worth straying from the steak menu, but there really is no need. Seriously, these people know how to cook a perfect piece of beef. I chuckled a bit to myself at people complaining at the price. Coming in from Chicago, I found prices to be a STEAL! I also loved that they had smaller size options. Lord knows I cannot finishing 12 oz of anything. I had a 4 oz filet mignon with a sweet potato side. 4 oz was the right size (although they had other options) and the sweet potato came with a little thing of melted butter (which also went on my steak!). Once again, the steak was perfectly cooked and I felt the prices were amazing. This place is seriously divey, but don't be deterred. The steak is worth it.

Checked out Tappa's steakhouse in Davenport for something different. As recommended here on Yelp, I got the filet with onions & mushrooms added, the hash browns and a sweet potato. The steak was great but the star was the mushrooms and onions on top of it. Make sure you add those on - they are awesome! Think small town dive tavern for the atmosphere but if you don't let that bother you, the food is pretty tasty!

Saw a commercial for Tappa's and wanted to give it a try as my family loves steak. Our first trip there ended being a disappointment because it was closed on a Sunday?? OK, we tried again. The place is in a very sketchy part of town and smaller than it looked on the commercial. It's a bar with a dinning room right in the bar. I didn't mind that, as we were there for the steak. The steaks were pricey. My 4-5 oz fillet was $13.95 and came with only a baked potato and some toast. If you want a salad or a vegetable you have to pay extra. My fillet was very thin and small. Nothing like a fillet anywhere else. My baked potato was a day old. I asked for a fresh one and got it, but not till I was done with the steak. The porterhouse was about $23.95 and again, came with only a potato side. The sweet potato was big, sweet and yummy. Our waitress was nice and helpful. Truthfully, I had to go home and get something else as I was still hungry. I would suggest they include a veggie with the meal at least! Won't be back unless they do.

Get out your GPS to find Tappas off the beaten path in Davenport. My husband wanted steak and didn't want to dress up and Tappas was perfect on all levels there. The steaks were grilled with a smokey taste. I had the famous hash browns that were delicious. Don't overlook the cucumber salad. It is the right combination of sweet and tart. The only thing that didn't fit my taste were the grilled onions. I am used to onions being grilled apart from the steak but these had a smokey rather than onion flavor. My husband the real steak expert gave it a high rating although he said they could have trimmed a little more of the fat off. The waitresses could not have been nicer and we enjoyed our meal at Tappas.

The steaks are good and this place is definitely deserving of being called a steakhouse though the prices are high and the ambiance and service are not as up to par as one would expect for the prices.

Super great steaks. This is a very small town, back woods type of hole-in-the-wall joint. Don't expect the frills or the pricetag of one of the Texas Roadhouse or Bass Street type of places. You can't go wrong with the food here though. The only thing to note is that you won't get any sort of salad up front. Some folks have a problem with that, not me.

Best steakhouse in the QC! Atmosphere is low key, service is friendly and the food is spot on every time.

Went here with some friends. I would call it a good blue-collar steak house. Everyone else I was with ordered steaks which were good. I went with fried halibut, which was OK. One of their specialities is hash browns and these are real homemade hashbrowns cooked with onions and green peppers. They are very good, although a bit heavy/greasy as good hash browns are. Two of us got apple pie for dessert. The crust and topping were made with butter so it was very rich, but there wasn't any cinnamon or spice in it at all so it was very bland. I wouldn't get the pie again. Another person got the chocolate pie which I believe was average. Service was fast and friendly. There's not much on the menu in the way of salads and vegetables. This is meat and potatoes and if you like good steak and hash browns, this is definitely a place to go. I'm not a big steak fan myself so probably wouldn't go again.
