Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing rolls and great food presentation. The bf and I sat in the dining room but it sounded like the hibachi chefs were really enjoying entertaining their guests. I can't believe this place isn't busier on a Saturday night. I give a very enthusiastic five stars.

A nice surprise from what seems like a hole in the wall. Sushi was on spot and their Squid Salad left me craving more! Service was nice and accommodating. Needs a bit of a face lift!

Went on a Friday night to eat hibachi. Staff greeted us but hostess was busy talking to someone she knew and seemed put off that she had to seat us. After a long wait the first waiter came out and took drink order, 10 min later another waiter comes out with drinks and no idea where they went. The hibachi chef was ok but not as good as ones I have had at Osaka. His show was about as basic as it could be. Food was well cooked all though the entrees came off at different times with almost 10 min between when my salmon was cooked and my girl friends chicken was done. The salmon was ok but tasted like it was a frozen portion from Sams Club. The chicken was overcooked and rubbery. The shrimp was good. Over all the food was very underwhelming. We waited yet again for the bill even though the place was dead. The sushi might be good but we wont be back.

Sushi-OK. The udon noodles with chicken and veggies were good. The fried calamari was awful, rubbery, and tasted like microwaved frozen food. However, my 5 yr old daughter actually ate two thinking they were cheese sticks because they were that rubbery.

Hands down the best sushi place in the QCA! The fish is always fresh and tastes wonderful! The firefighter roll is my absolute favorite. My boyfriend and I always get two special rolls and two regular rolls to share and it fills us up. This is the kind of food that just makes you happy! Ichiban is a way better choice, if you want great sushi, than any other sushi place in the area, guaranteed. Go check it out! My absolute favorite roll is the "Firefighter" (I LOVE raw tuna) but if you are looking for something smaller the "Alaskan roll" is equally fresh and delicious!

I stopped eating sushi in the Quad Cities because Red Ginger and Osaka were so far below the quality I was used to, living downtown Chicago for many years. I read good reviews for Ichiban and tried it last night. I would definitely go back. I was very happy with all of the rolls that we ordered and would consider Ichiban the best sushi that I've had in the QC.

I have tried every sushi restaurant in the Quad Cities, this is hands down THE BEST!!! I come about once a week, usually on Wednesday's because you get a free roll after you order 2, since I go with my girlfriend we normally split 3 rolls. I Love spicy, have tried their fiesta roll, which is good & spicy! Since I visit so frequently I have been coming up with rolls that are not on the menu (All Very Good & Spicy) Scott Roll, Scott Roll 2, & of course Scott Roll 3. They are all amazing!!! I urge any sushi lover to visit and try all three of the rolls I have come up with, as long as you like spicy food, but if you order off the menu, you wont be disappointed either!

Try the Queen roll, it is delicious! The staff is very friendly and courteous. The restaurant is in a great central location.

Delicious sushi!!! Didn't get a chance to try the hibachi. My girlfriend and I had four specialty rolls, and they were beautifully presented and tasted fresh and fantastic. The gentleman who took care of us was very accommodating and gave us plenty of extra goodies. Definitely check this place out

The food was extremely good, and the entertainment was even better! Our chefs were extremely funny and made it such a good time for us!

First let me say I have had sushi all across the United states and Ichiban ranks right up there with the best! Their pieces of fish were times two the size of most sushi place and priced competitively. The food in general was very good and the appearance makes you want to eat it! The service is awesome down to them taking your coat and hanging it up and making you feel at home and part of their family. With the last couple restaurants in this location having a bad name has created a problem for their business and I hope this will change with the great reviews that they will get if you try this place. I highly recommend this sushi restaraunt! Enjoy!

Seriously the best sushi and hibachi grill around. Very professional and clean. Great service

I was excited to try this place based on the reviews but ended up very disappointed. I went for lunch and the wait staff was friendly but seemed clueless about the menu. We asked what all comes in the lunch bento box and our server had no idea, she brought a few other staff members over and we started to piece it together but still didn't know what to expect. The dressing on the salad is awful, I was expecting it to be a ginger dressing like many other sushi restaurants offer but it had an unpleasantly sweet orange flavor to it and seemed like it was just mayonnaise thinned out with some orange flavored agent. The salad was swimming in it, too which compounded the problem. The miso soup, however, was tasty. I ordered the lunch bento with the hand rolled sushi. When I ordered, I tried to specify the spicy salmon (that and spicy tuna was listed on the menu) and was told there are two pieces of the hand rolled sushi so you get one of each, which was fine. But when my order came, I had one hand roll of spicy salmon and the other was a California hand roll (in addition to the four pieces of California roll that come with the bento box). I would not have ordered it if I had known half my entree was going to be an imitation Krab stick in rice and sea weed. Maybe dinner is better, but I was not impressed and will not be returning.

Great value. I had the bento box and my coworker did the 3 sushi rolls. Each came with miso soup and salad. The soup is excellent and quite similar to most Japanese restaurants you will find which is good since I love miso soup. The salad was a pleasant surprise as it had a creamy ginger dressing that isn't like may other restaurants and has a welcomed muted ginger taste. The chicken was well done and had cheese cooked into the center. All in all, I would definitely recommend this for travelers or locals alike.

This is the best sushi I have had in the quad cities. I usually don't feel full after eating sushi, but compared to other sushi restaruants in the QC where the rolls seem small, the rolls are a great value. Lots of different flavors. Staff is very friendly, it looked like they only had one person making the rolls, but we ordered three and had time to enjoy them all. If you like sushi and haven't tried this place yet, you definently should!

I am so sorry I didn't try this place before all the other mediocre sushi places in the area! Sushi is incredible. Presentation is perfect. Ambience is clean and quiet. Haven't tried the hibachi side but as far as sushi goes, GO HERE. Every roll was worth the money, not to mention this was big city sushi at Quad City prices. Nice lunch date with the hubs. :)

SO happy to have "Tim" and "Henry" back (not their given names). The food is awesome, and prices are the best in town. The servers can be a little hard to talk to because they're Chinese, but it's not impossible. They seem to LOVE babies, because they were on us like stink on flies and it got a little annoying when they didn't walk away while we were trying to talk. They meant well and they were very nice so I can't fault them really. They'd have 5 stars if they did two things. #1 have a professional painter come in and fix what they did themselves and #2 trained the wait staff to leave the customers alone a little more. The Sushi is IMO the best in town and some of the best I've had and I've been to the orient and other large US cities. Chris in Bettendorf

Great food and great staff! This place makes you feel like you have been old friends as soon as you enter the door. To the food, there is a large selection of excellent Rolls and chef specials.

If you are looking for delicious fresh, authentic, Japanese cuisine at a fair price- look no further. Ichiban is one of my favorite lunch spots in the QCA, and my wife and I usually have dinner here once a week as well. I am a sushi fanatic. While one can get their full of good sushi at a buffet elsewhere, I prefer the top quality, fresh and delicious sushi offered at Ichiban. From the simplest of rolls to the most complex speciality rolls, each bite is everything that you want it to be. Sushi doesn't have to break the bank, either. Ichiban has generous lunch specials every day that leave you satisfied and keeps me coming back every week. If sushi isn't your thing, the hibachi grill always smells amazing, and even "safe eaters" who don't like to go out of their comfort zone can always have grilled steak, chicken, or fish. If authentic Japanese noodles are your pleasure, then you're in luck! From simple broths to savory seafood soups, Ichiban has you covered. The management of this establishment is genuinely concerned with your dining experience, and is very accommodating. Ichiban is my go-to sushi restaurant in the Quad Cities, and I hope that you will give them a try. If you found this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up and let me know!
