Walking around the Windward Mall Food Court, we came across Hot Dog on a Stick. I've never seen this restaurant before so we gave it a whirl. Their menu is simple. They sell homemade lemonades, hot dogs on a stick (obviously), fried zucchini, fries, cheese sticks, etc. Their cornbread batter is excellent. It's slightly sweet, gives the turkey dog a slightly crisp outer layer and is fluffy within. Each hot dog is dipped upon ordering, so nothing is sitting under a headlamp here. Their lemonade had a tart kick to it, which was very refreshing. Freshly squeezed indeed. Employees were friendly and quick.

Yes, I drive all the way to Windward mall just to get some hotdog on a stick and their famous lemonade. I wish there was another hot dog on a stick closer to me but then that is why its so good. Service is like 5 star restaurant. Always friendly, professional and efficient. And usually, it's busy and there's a line. So bring your friend patience with you. I do feel bad that the store is located closer to restroom so there's even more foot traffic when you're in line. But they probably got a discount on their lease for being close to the restroom. Who knows? As for taste, I love it! The hotdog is never too greasy even though it just came out of oil pool. I also love their crispy french fries and their fresh squeezed lemonade. Sometimes you can catch them squeezing out the lemon juice with their pogo sticks.

Haven't been to windward mall in a long time, and thought maybe I'd get a corn dog because it's one of those comfort foods that you can eat on the go. Stopped by and saw so many tables full, and thought great thing I was getting a corn dog since you don't need a table to eat it. As I got to the front, no one was working the front and thought maybe their getting stuff from the back? Waited about 2-4 mins until someone came out. Then I was just irritated. 3 girls working and not even a look out front or a sorry we'll be with you shortly. They were just talking a storm and not paying attention towards the customers waiting. Sure I know it's a busy Sunday, but if there's customers in front waiting why not let one person stay up front take orders, and at least have the up coming orders ready? I've seen business like this, and for sure wouldn't want to come back. Also one of the menu screens were on a blank desktop screen so not sure what's going on there too.... Overall very disappointed in a business that has so much potential

Everytime I'm craving a good corndog and some lemonade... THIS IS THE SPOT. It is a far drive for me (Hawaii standards, of course!), but it is worth the drive. I hop on to H3 and in 25 minutes I'm at Windward Mall. Sometimes the lines get real long, but the corndogs are worth the wait. They've got a combo deal now: any corndog or cheese stick, a regular drink, and French fries: all for $6.99. Hey, that's a pretty good deal! Their food is always consistent and so are their drinks. I usually head this way once a month and always make a stop at Hot Dog on a Stick. It's a nice change of scenery from all the other malls on the island. Enjoy!

I'm giving this place 4 stars for the fact that I'm addicted to their frozen lemonade with cherry and lime syrup. Most people don't know that you can ask for more than one flavor syrup but they allow it. This mixture is the best frozen lemonade ever. I wish they had a Hot Dog on a Stick in town so I don't have to go to Windward Mall for this. Everything else no the menu is so-so for me. I don't like zucchini period. It doesn't matter how you make it. The fried fish is ok. It's really crunchy but very oily. I don't really care for corn dogs but get them most of the time anyway since it's what they're known for. The girls working behind the counter are always nice. They're always cheerful and smiling.

What more can I say about the food here that hasn't already been? Nothing. I won't reiterate what the other reviewers already mentioned and just stick to my opinion. IMO, this place has the best hotdog on a stick and lemonade. Something about the hotdog on a stick just makes you crave it from time to time. I like that it's not salty and ketchup is optional. Their lemonade has equal parts sweetness and tartness which equals perfection! These two items are a must and go well like PB&J. If you haven't tried this place, you've been missing out and I highly suggest you take a drive over to satisfy your hunger!

Since I wasn't happy with my earlier selection, I dumped it and grabbed an all beef corn dog and funnel sticks. I haven't been to a Hot Dog on a Stick in over six years and this was worth it. They too were busy, but got my order up fast. I should've gone here in the first place. Much better than I expected. This was the first time I tries the funnel sticks and they were good too. A bit of chewiness with a crunch. Yum.

Hot dog on a stick, I love the worker's uniform. Customer service was quick and the food was great. I especially love their cheese stick, it warms my mouth when first bitten, it satisfies my tummy. This is always my first stop to get something to eat, it's a must to visit!
(5)Fides D.
Love the place too bad nothing close to town.... Love the lemon juice the zucchini and of course the hot dog
(4)Lauren P.
This was my first time visiting Oahu's only hotdog on a stick. The food was on point for hitting the craving spot. I absolutely die over cheese & dogs deep fried in corn goodness! The zucchini & fish was tasty but not what I was CRAVING... Service has room for improvement. Both employees avoided acknowledging us. I work in the industry so I understand that a person gets busy with 'chores' but I recommend at least saying 'hey there, I'll be right with you' while finishing up what you're doing. TIP: coming back? Ask for a stamp card.
(4)Kim S.
Confession...corn dogs are a guilty pleasure. Luckily not often & good thing they aren't in town. So these aren't artisan sausages dipped in hand ground corn batter but they are yummy & good for a fix. Plus they are freshly made while you wait. The lemonade is good too, not too sweet if you don't add the flavored syrup. If you're nice, they may let you taste the lemonade flavors before buying. My friends love the fried zucchini & fried cheese.
(4)Nathan J.
I go here quite a bit because it is close to home and one of only a few options at the somewhat limited Windward Mall Food Court. I must say that the corn dogs are decent and the french fries are also fairly decent. What sets this place apart is that the girls who work here are all so conscientious, helpful and friendly. That being said, the five star rating is for the deal of the century which happens to be the souvenir cup refill deal. If you buy a souvenir cup, every time you bring it back you get a refill of lemonade or frozen lemonade for only $2. Their lemonade, btw, is one of the best on the island (even better than that junk they sell at the night markets, that droves of people stand in line for).

My favorite reason to visit Windward Mall is to completely ruin my healthy protein and veggies filled diet with Hot Dog On A Stick! If I could create the Universe all over again there are a few things I would change: 1) I would make it so that the healthiest thing you could eat on planet Earth would be a deep fried corn dog!!! Along with cotton candy, fried chicken and Rocky Road ice cream. All calorie free and actually makes you better looking! 2) I would make men and women equal so we'd both take turns having the babies. But I'd still give us the same body parts because I've had way too many men tell me "Oh it can't be that hard to have a baby." Well buddy, not it's your turn to squeeze a watermelon out of your body parts. Have fun guys! 3) I'd get rid of boobs. Yes, I said it. They really create a lot of stress and inequality in the world and I think if we were all flat chested life would be so much more comfortable for everyone. Think about it. No bras, no weird staring at chests, no unnecessary plastic surgery. But if I could change the world in this way, would I enjoy corn dogs as much as I do now? Because then it wouldn't be a guilty pleasure... Ugh, it must be so hard to make these kind of decisions when you're the creator of the Universe! It's been awhile since my last Hot Dog On A Stick review and at first I had a small panic attack because they were no longer on the second floor of the mall. I exhaled a sigh of relief when I saw that they had relocated to the newly renovated food court on the bottom floor. We made a b-line for my friends dressed in their colorful blue, red and yellow costumes and ordered up a set of corn dogs along with regular lemonade. I asked the girl at the counter whether or not I should order the "lite" version and she told me that it doesn't taste nearly as good and is made with splenda. I just thought that a "lite" would be made with less sugar so I was glad she told me why it was "lite." I don't drink diet soda so why start drinking diet lemonade! Our order took about five minutes to come out of the fryer and we ate them in the car with packets of yellow mustard. Yup, they're still my favorite food on a stick and I am a happy camper! I was personally very pleased with my experience at Hot Dog On A Stick and found the girls working the counter to be friendly and helpful. Keep up the good work and I look forward to my next trip to the Windward side for a corn dog and a lemonade!

I have not ate here since I was a kid, & every time I passed this place I'd see a rather long line, & it would make me want to try their food.. So today I finally ate here. I ordered the zucchini & fish with a lemonade lite. It was horrible! On a scale of 1-10 I'd give this a 2! Reason? It was SO oily that I literally could only eat a few bites & had to stop eating completely! Now I'm not an idiot: I KNOW these things are deep fried! But this was just... Blahh! Even draining my zucchini & fish on napkins it was STILL to oily! I eventually finished majority of my food, but it was due to being hungry, not wanting to waste the $7.50 I spent on my meal, & the fact that there was nothing else to eat at my house; But I did remove most of the batter & used napkins to drain the food! I read some of the reviews & seen 5 stars, and I wanted to relive some childhood memories, but my expectations greatly exceeded the actual product quality. I had such a sore stomach after about 20-30 minutes of eating those few BITES of the food it was THAT bad! I was very dissapointed. I guess if your going to eat here & you're unsure what to order: The common sense thing to do is order what their most popular for!

Wandering around Windward Mall leads one to try hotdog on a stick for the very first time. I want hotdog on a stick everyday!! It's made to order, but it's definitely worth the wait. It's a little pricey, and even I can eat more than one if I wanted to, so it's definitely a snack and not a meal. The lemonade was good, but after a while it was getting a little too sweet for me, and I had the small size. I wouldn't mind going here for a pit stop in between shopping from one store to another.
(5)Eduardo S.
Only one left on the island, freshly made lemonade regular, sugar free, cherry, and lime. Perfect place to get your guilty greasy pleasures corn dogs, cheese dog, batter dipped fried zuccini and fish. Funnel cake sticks so bad for you but so tasty.
(4)Megan T.
As we stood in line, I noticed the girl who was ringing customers up and touching money was also dipping hotdogs in batter, touching fries, and mixing lemonade...isn't that a health hazard? It was just very unsanitary and made me uncomfortable. I mean, there were two other workers with her and they seemed to have a handle on things. But I've been dying to try this place out for the longest time so I pushed my germaphobe feelings to the side. Lemonade?! Yummy?! No. I think we just came at the wrong time because ours was really sour as if there weren't any sugar in it. I appreciate how they make everything to order and their corn dogs were good! The batter around the hot dog was pretty amazing and I don't remember the last time i had a good corndog. Cheese on a stick! Must try! It really does taste like a really cheesy grilled cheese sandwich. The French fries were warm and perfectly salted, so I recommend those too.

Hot Dog on a Stick is awesome! It's one of the few things that have been at windward mall since I was a kid. Each time I go there I only ever see girls working...is that weird? Do they hire guys? Is it cause guys love meant, cheese and anything deep fried? So having a guy work there would be bad for business? The batter they use to coat the hot dog is so good! It's fluffy yet crunchy....how is that even possible!? They even have cheese dogs. Basically a brick of cheese coated with their law defying batter and then deep fried...awesome. I tried the 2 cheese dogs they had to offer. I have to say the American cheese is better. Their lemonade is so delicious. If I could tell the world how lemonade should taste every time someone makes it, I would say the way hot dog on a stick makes it. It has the best lemonade. The lemonade I make at home is nothing compared those people. I love Hot Dog on a Stick..............corn dogs.
(4)Shena Z.
Deliciousness hot dogs. Fav lemonade yet. Must go && visit. Everything is made fresh there. Next time I come back I must try their zucchini sticks !
(4)Kawena E.
We love hot dog on a stick! It's one of the only reasons we go for dinner, at Windward Mall, some nights. We had a really nice cashier who helped us, Keaka. She was polite and pleasant. She made our most recent visit very enjoyable.

I can't resist Hot Dog on a Stick. All that deep fried goodness just calls to me more than any other concession downstairs at the Windward Mall food court. Okay, maybe Cinnabons is second best, but that's dessert! yelp.com/biz_photos/hot-… As much as I like the Hot Dogs my favorite is the zucchini. And to make myself feel better I get the zucchini and fish combo. A veg and a protein...a balanced meal;) And it's usually very oily. Yes, I know I'm just fooling myself. But zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables no matter how it's prepared. The fried fish and/or zucchini comes with two dips. One is tarter sauce and the other is a lighter sauce which I prefer. They've gone "green" with biodegradable containers....cardboard. Which I like better just because sometimes the zucchini/fish is so hot after coming out of the deep fryer that it used to burn through the styrofoam and melt it. Yikes. You can also order rice or french fries. And don't forget the fried cheese on a stick. Great with mustard or ketchup. yelp.com/biz_photos/hot-… The people at the counter are always friendly......hell, I wouldn't be if I had to spend my day frying over hot oil. The place is always clean. I often see them wiping and cleaning. Plus they wear those cute outfits! Don't forget the lemonade or lime or cherry ade. I love the limeade. Very refreshing. 31 Yelps Challenge: #8/31

Salty fries, crappy customer service! The girl who took my order looks like she hated her job.
(1)Micah G.
My favorite spot in windward mall!!! The lemonade is on point and the fried zucchini with fries is the bomb. The employees are always nice and friendly , the last time we went we was greeted with aloha by Keaka who turned me on to the lime-lemonade flavor which is now my new favorite. So if you are at windward mall you gotta stop by and grab some on the go grinds and that lime-lemonade !

I turned into a little child when I first saw this place. I had never been to Hot Dog on a Stick until my boyfriend took me to Windward Mall. Who would've guessed such joy can come from eating at Hot Dog on a Stick? I first tried this out for the novelty of it and immediately fell in love. Since then, we never leave the mall without stopping by. They have a fairly simple menu. I've had and were not disappointed... - Hot dog in a stick. Of course, duh. - Cheese on a stick. American or Pepper Jack. We prefered the American. It kinda tasted like an extra cheesy grilled cheese. - Zucchini Sticks. OMG, yum. Definitely oily. But such a good deal! Haven't tried yet... - Fish sticks. Have yet to try it, but I love the batter so I definitely will get around to trying it. - Funnel Sticks. Looks good. Haven't tried it. Want to try it. - Fries. Very ordinary compared to the rest of the menu. Probably won't try it. Drinks: LEMONADE! Delicious, but pricey. The large was almost the same price as the zucchini sticks. Yikes. Ultimately, what counts most in fried food is the batter and these people know how to make awesome batter! It's crispy, yet light. So appease the kid in you and give this place a visit ...or two
(4)Chanel M.
I had a hot dog on a stick, cheese on a stick, and a lemonade. Sooo delicious! I never ate her before. Good experience for the first time. But the customer service isn't the best. A little bit sassy. But the food is just good. I would recommend this place to people. They have the best lemonade. I would say.
(4)Rita L.
fry me up a corn dog and cheese on a stick! This place never fails. i always have to eat here when i'm at windward mall. the kids meal is a deal-i buy it for my daughter, she loves the fries and i eat the cheese on a stick. the lemonade is fresh but sometimes sour. i love the cute outfits the workers wear...i hope this place never closes!
(4)Chaz T.
Forget this place. Terrible service. The people working here obviously hate their job... The girl working the register completely forgot about my order and let it burn in the fryer.. ive been sitting in front of the shop for about 20min and still nothing. I saw her look at my burnt hot dog and smile then place a new one in! I only came here for the convenience of a corn dog. Easy to make and fast, but that didnt happen. Great corn dog and lemonade to bad im never comming back.

ONLY ONE ON THE AINA This is the only one on the island, and if there food wasn't so delicious I probably wouldn't come back. In college I would randomly stop by this place to get a hotdog on a stick or even the cheese one; both always satisfies my cravings. I always stop by this place when I go to windward mall, which is like twice a year. Being at the mall recently, I realized the moved to a different part of the mall. It must have been a long time since I have been here. I also noticed they added a Portuguese Sausage on a stick to the menu. I made my own sample pack to share with my little sister. I got a cherry lemonade, fries, one everything on a stick and funnel cake sticks. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hot-… ). Everything was delicious. It was my little sister's first time and she enjoyed it all. My favorite is the Cheese on a stick. The hotdog is ok and the Portuguese sausage one didn't make my taste buds tingle. I did love the funnel cake fries. They were amazing! I am not sure why I never ate funnel cakes before. The only problem I had with this place was the rude workers. They aren't so smiley and seemed overwhelmed with the short line. The one girl at the counter dropped some of my funnel cake fries and just threw them away without replacing them. Also, they packed everything in my to-go bag very messy. My fries were mixing with the funnel cake fries and there were no napkins. I had to ask for napkins and the worker didn't seem excited about. Luckily I love the food so I would return, but hopefully they get better workers soon.

i cant give this place enough stars i travel from aiea to eat here and today i had the most nicest service today i wasnt able to get her name but if i could i would tell the manager that she was amazing
(5)Achlene P.
I am just a fan of their lemonade!!!!! A must have every time I go to Windward Mall.
(5)P K.
I love hot dog on a stick. Food is good, fast and cheap. Only location on the island. Dasia W was a terribly unwelcoming cashier tonight. Nearly walked away from the counter because I was barely greeted, in fact she was scowling at me. I ordered, received no acknowledgement, waited awkwardly for a few minutes until Kamana came to help me. a suggestion to management: find some kids like Kamana who are actually pleasant and want to work.
(1)Mary D.
I was a little saddened when I got to try the dogs here. It's pricey and not filling. They offer a few different types of fried fare but I wanted their signature hot dog on a stick. Both my daughter and I weren't impressed. The best part was watching them make it. Very nice set up and it was interesting to see their system. The lemonade was the BEST part of the meal. Refreshing and tart! I don't think i'll eat here again unless I have a coupon that'll help me get a better deal.
(2)Mary Q.
At first I thought to myself why should I review a "hot dog on a stick"?? Well, it's not just a Hot dog on a stick.but more... As I walk around the Windward Mall Court, wondering what non-healthy food to consume, it might as well make it taste good, and everyone knows everything fried MUST taste good good right?! ( I didn't say must be good for you ! LOL) Building up a thirst, I ordered there lemonade...WOW! So yummy, and if you're worried about calories, they have a low-cal Pink lemonade one that's tasty as well, and to make more room for the other calories you are about to consume. *WINK* It always makes me smile to see the nostalgic red, blue and yellow outfits that the employees wear, and they are always so cheery. Watching a white gooey covered hot dog being dipped into hot oil, and coming out crunchy brown and glistening. you can't go wrong with the classic Corndog, and their Cheesedog is a caloric stick of yumminess too. Most people may not realize but they make a Fried fish N Chips plate, that's not too shabby, and is my favorite. They serve it with a tasty tarter sauce a wedge of lemon. They also have fried zucchini which could be good except the cut of the pieces are too big, which makes it a bit oily because they have too fry them longer. Their french fries are shoestring, and always served fresh and crunchy. No, it's not a 5 star sit down restaurant, but is it your all-around classic greasy "Hot dog and lemonade stand "joint, and you can't go wrong with that can you! Just make sure you have a membership to the gym if you make this your favorite spot!

1.13.13 I LOVE HOT DOG ON A STICK!! My relationship with HDOAS has been going strong for quite a while now... Whenever I go to the Windward side of the island stopping here is a must! Corn dogs are another fav of mine so of course I would give this place 5 stars (plus food quality is great & staff has always been friendly on my visits). Also I got to give the employees props for wearing those loud uniforms! Each hot dog on a stick is made to order so they're always fresh & the workers know just how much batter to put on! ($2.50 per dog). I believe they also have cheese on a stick, which I will def have to try in the future! They also sell fries and zucchini sticks (not really sure if they still offer this) and the oil they cook it in always seems fresh. Everything is ala carte except for the kiddie meal (which might be a better deal: regular size hot dog on a stick, handful of fries & a mini lemonade). I usually go with 2 dogs or a dog & fries...yes I can eat! ;) The lemonade is also to die for--made fresh with their own recipe and served chilled--YUM! They also offer frozen lemonade. I usually go with the large which is about $3, the best bang for your buck :) Either way check it out if you haven't yet--otherwise you're missing out! Yelp 365 Challenge: #013/365

Anything fried is a winner in my book. Although the hot dogs on a stick is good here, what I really come here for is the fried zucchini and cheese on a sticks!!! Mmm. Some days I literally will make the drive out here just because I want a cheese on a stick. On my last visit I discovered that they have Pepperjack cheese on a stick! I dont' know if it's a relatively knew thing, or if that's how long I haven't been there, but DAMN. Spicy, Cheesy, Oozy, Crunchy, Battered deliciousness! The fried zucchini is also amazingly good. I don't understand why more people dont offer fried zucchini. It's reaaaaaaally good. And I like the fact that I can make myself pretend that it's healthy for me by saying "well, it IS a vegetable" as I dip it in dressing is awesome. haha. The new food court is also very nice, lots of seating, and a great place to enjoy your meal. Of course, if you're anything like me, you'll probably just munch on your cheestick as you window shop :)
(4)Iris J.
I like the zucchini, not so much anything else!!! The lemonade w/cherry and lihing mui powder was an extra touch of goodness. .. very refreshing option but the small size is more than enough!!!
(4)Kalei D.
our favorite place for ono hot dogs and cheese dogs, my daughter loves hot dog on a stick!!! mama loves it too minus the bill you rack up when buying food for a cheese dog monster but i i have to say the lemonade makes up for it all=) 4 stars because they need to find a better frying oil or clean the frying oil more often as they're zucchini plates is amazing minus the tummy ache you get from it being waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too oily 2 pieces in=(

Grabbing 3 $5 for $10 groupons yesterday, thanks to Michael S in the deals and steals tread, I headed out to the Windward side for dinner tonight. When I first got there I was a little scared as the two girls there were unsure if they could accept it. Eventually one of the girls was able to find the memo in the back. I am always impressed with the service here, I never got bad service yet. The girl that helped me was so apologetic and patient even though I asked to use two coupons for our dinner. They had to do two separate transactions and they were even was happy to help me calculate my items so I could get the most out of my $10 Groupon (even tho a line was growing behind me and were probably getting major stink looks from the other customers). I know if I were to ask this at another fast food joint, I would have got the eye roll and sassy face, but I didnt feel a hint of frustration with these employees. I really dont have to talk about the food as it is consistently excellent.
(5)Shay F.
I love eating the zucchini sticks. So yummy...but of course it's fried so it isn't so good for you. ...but isn't that how it goes? LoL. ...I didn't care so much for the fish. Next time I go, I'll just get the zucchini. Yelp 365 Challenge #86/365
(3)Scott D.
The management must be doing something right, the two workers who are regularly there have both worked for the company more than ten years each, and one was part of the opening crew. They seem to enjoy their jobs as well. As others have pointed out the fresh lemonade it very good and although one Hot Dog on a Stick is not very filling, it is tastier than the frozen kind. They apply the batter to the hot dog right after you order it so everything is very fresh.
(4)Steven U.
My bro and I felt like corn dogs so we drove out to Kaneohe. As we got up to the counter, the lady in front of us was picking up her order. It was a to go container filled with large sticks of fried zucchini. As we watched her leave, I asked the girl behind the counter......'is that one order'? The girl nods.......and I say...'I'll take one of those'. One order is about 1 1/2 zucchinis which is really large. We both had corn dogs and lemonade and shared the zucchini......and we were both stuffed when we finished. It was nice and crisp and super hot....the girl explained that it was fried to order. She wasn't lying....you watch her pull out the zucchini, batter it, and deep fry it right in front of you. If you are a fan of zucchini, I would definitely recommend trying it.....along with a hot dog and lemonade. 4 stars p.s. the corn dog batter and the zucchini batter is different.....the zucchini is in a lighter, non corn batter.]
(4)Rona L.
This is the first time ever that there was absolutely NO line at this place and it was a Saturday around dinner time. That was a pleasant surprise. The service was quick and staff were very friendly. We got the usual...well the menu isn't that big... Anyway, we got a hot dog and lemonade and eveb.tried the funnel cake.... Food was good as usual...
(4)Melissa L.
I must be missing something here..I mean, i rarely get to visit Windward Mall and i remember eating here less than a handful of times when I lived on the Windward side but its really nothing special, unless im paying to see chicks in a cute uniform and a slightly amusing hat. Spent $9 on a hotdog, fries and lemonade, food gone in a couple of bites. I do suppose it is one of the better places to eat in the food court. Girls we super nice and they do work hard to get the orders in and out.
(4)Kanani W.
I love this place. I may be wrong but I think it's the only place that doesn't have food under a lamp. You order, they fry & serve it. Their lemonade is awesome as well. It gets kind of busy around lunch time but I think it's worth the wait since you can watch them make lemonade & fry the hot dogs, cheese sticks, french fries, etc.
(5)Eric M.
Add me to the list of people who like this place just because I like Hot Dog on a Stick in general. Unfortunately, unlike the Vegas locations, there's no veggie dog here. With no HDOS, I'd have to look for a carnival to get a corn dog or wait for the Okinawan Festival to get an anda-dog.
(4)Jacob N.
Disclaimer: This place is not for the health nut! It may only be because I don't have readily available access to Hot Dog on a Stick, but I love it!! Whenever I'm at Windward mall, and in need of a bite, I'll stop here. The lemonade and pepper-jack cheese on a stick are the two big draws for me. The fried zucchini is good stuff, but it's so oily. More so than the hot dog and cheese on sticks. The Portuguese sausage on a stick was just ok. It was more like a slightly spicy red hot dog than a Portuguese sausage. For a food court fast food place I'm surprised how friendly the service has been whenever I visited. Just imagine if Hot Dog on a Stick opened up a food truck!!

I've never really liked corn dogs because we would always get them for school lunch and they were always soggy. So even when I get to eat a real corn dog, I am brought back to the days of high school and I'm eating the corn dog simply because there was nothing else to eat. But I do loooove their zucchini! I know, I know, it's really bad for you but it's a vegetable so it's all good! It is a really big plate and I felt sad to throw a few pieces away but it is a really greasy snack and I can only eat so much. My boyfriend got their portuguese sausage on a stick and was sorely disappointed. It was actually a redondo's red hot dog instead. I don't see how they can call it a portuguese sausage seeing that it's a completely different thing! But the best part is their lemonade. I can drink gallons and gallons of that stuff. No one can make a lemonade like they can. It must be the hat. I wanted to buy the largest size with the souvenir cup but I decided that was a bit much and just got a large. I got their watermelon lemonade which was their feature flavor and although I couldn't taste the watermelon at all, it was a nice flavor. My mouth is watering just thinking about their ice cold refreshing lemonade. Unfortunately, I'm stuck in Kalihi, nowhere near a Hot Dog on a Stick. Eh, all you people out in Windward...pick up one for me!

The service here was among the worst I've ever experienced at any food court. The girls were texting, yelling at each other, and playing around. While they were goofing off the line grew longer and longer. I ordered one thing and waited almost 20 minutes for it. When I asked about my order the girl said they gave it to someone else because they thought I wasn't there. I didn't even hear them call out my order and I wasn't far from them. So they gave me a little tray of funnel sticks that had been out of the fryer for a while and were soggy. No apologies or anything. I usually love coming here but the employees lack good leadership and they are not professional at all.

What's bad about a healthy hot dog lovingly dipped in corn meal and fried? Absolutely nothing!! Add a freshly squeezed lemonade and you've got bliss! Too bad they're not everywhere!
(5)Kevin C.
I'm so glad I don't like on the Windward side. Or I would come here soooooo much! Hot dog on a stick may not sound appealing, but it's no ordinary hot dog on a stick. It's battered and deep fried right in front of you. DELICIOUS HEART ATTACK ON A STICK! The fried zucchini is soooo good too! Amazing! I was a skeptic, but now imma believer!

Y365C R2 #004/365 O N L Y L O C A T I O N O N T H E I S L A N D If it wasn't for the battered cheese on a stick or the cherry/lime lemonade that brought awesome childhood memories & my first job ever in CA. Hot dog on a stick will always have a special place in my tummy wummy, although Muscle Beach (the incredibly better side of Hot Dog on a Stick-also they have a nicer color combination uniform lol) Why 2 stars...I will tell you why, this location has had great reviews, I get it, but this is the only one on the island (and there is a high high chance that majority don't have another experience to compare to or know what to expect)... oh, but I do. First off, employees need to be a little more HDOSish really, I don't know if protocol is the same for employment for HI employees, but geez. Are you auditioning them or do you qualify under just management criteria & not what the company stands for. To employees: its your job ladies & gents, especially rocking your bold uniform, it stands out when your not happy to service a customer. My experience today was alright/blah maybe it was the manager helping me, she seemed happy & but only so since its part of her sole. Almost fake, & the other employee looked at me like, "ugh its almost closing, your really ordering something." As for the quality of food, your better off buying McDonald's fries, I know their fries are good when cooked right, it makes a huge difference. Hot Dogs, Cheese Dogs, should be dipped correctly to get a nice thick batter, when the batter is thicker it evens out with that mouthwatering bite straight to cheese or the dawg. Now Lemonade, what compliments the dawgs, the FRESH refreshing lemonade... The lemonade needs to be changed every 2 HOURS normally/usually you run & sell out by that time, so normally you don't need to keep track. BUT in rare circumstances you need to waste whats left or maybe sample them out. And stomp up some new freshness. Taste the lemonade people before you serve it to your customers. I may sound crazy & I feel that everyone who ordered from this location & gave 5 stars hasn't tasted the real true goodness of what HDOS has to offer.

I usually don't eat corn dogs, but they have the best corn dogs everrrrrr!!! It's a must try and we're lucky enough to have this on Oahu! Both hot dog and Portuguese hot dog on a stick are a must try!!! They're located at Windward Mall and it's an enclosed mall with lots of parking available. It's a nice get away from the city side of Oahu and a beautiful drive on the H3 to get there.
(5)C-Dubs W.
It's a fresh corn dog on a stick. Certainly not a specialty or awesomeness.... but if you need a fresh corn dog, served by young ladies, this is the place to go.
(3)Claudia M.
This is my second review for this place. As you can see i gave them 5 stars today. Love this place. The kids enjoy the hot dog on the stick and the fries. I like the pepper jack cheese. The lines get long during lunch but the service is fast. The counter help are so organized and pleasant. Wish they were on the isle discount program...so we could save some $$$.
(5)Kuuipopualani F.
WOW!! What can I say.. Cheez, I will gladly drive all the way from Waipahu just to eat here.. Hmm... Let me see they make fresh lemonade right in front of you, the girls are standing and use this long thing to pound the fresh lemons so they can get the juice and put it in the fountain cooler right in front of you. Me, I'm NOT really a corn dog type of person. I never did like that frozen stuff. As for my husband he is... What can I say.. Well, he got the Corn Dog and I got the Fried Zuchinni.. When we first ate it, I was actually cringing.. But the first bite we took and I WAS SOLD FOR LIFE.. I FRICKEN loved it, nice and hot and yet it was soooo YUMMYY... Then I ordered their cheese stick.. Wow! That blew me away too, The cheese was pulled in your mouth and it was like eating bubble gum and I love bubble gum. Now back to their lemonade, we had the regular lemonade and the cherry. Yet we were racing who can drink who's first and that rarely happens to us. We've been going here for a couple of years now. Now we are liking their Mango Lemonade and their portugese sausage on a stick.. Man you can't get any better than this for those light days of snacking around the island.
(5)Jessica G.
I don't come here for the hot dogs. I come here for the zucchini! The perfect snack after shopping in the mall or going to the farmer's market. It's always fresh and hot and not too greasy. They are one of the places in the food court that always has a line. Those kids working behind the counter are working their butts off, and the food is always good. The frozen lemonade is always a treat too.
(4)Erin Y.
why? WHY? You guys NEED to have a smaller zucchini option. Like maybe a half order. I'm trying to be healthy here, people! (haha, no I'm not) OK OK, no one that I would ever go with to HDOAS would ever eat the fried zucchini with me. BF frowns upon it. Kids make "ewww gross" faces. No one dares come near my huge styrofoam box for fear of it being shoved onto their plate when I am full. Their corndogs are not good. Fries not good. Funnel cake sticks are pathetic.Anything else? Not good. Lemonade. Good. Cherry lemonade is even better. For this you get an extra star. The three of us (bf, daughter and I) ate here for $32. $32!!!! We should have gone anywhere else in this silly food court. We would have paid less and our pores wouldn't be oozing with cooking oil. Blech.

it doesn't matter that you can buy a box of 12 pre-made, microwaveable corn dogs at the grocery store, the "hot dog on a stick" is to the corn dog what a Mercedes-Benz is to a KIA (no offense intended, my mom owns a KIA). Even in a recession, $2.75 for a hotdog on a stick or cheese on a stick is WORTH IT! Minimum wagers need to work about 15-20 minutes to afford the freshly dipped and fried treat. I'm sure the caloric values can hold someone over for at least half the day. The lemonade is made daily and if you're lucky enough to watch the colorfully uniformed workers jackhammer mix the lemonade in buckets then I'm sure you'll be inclined to buy a large lemonade (comes in original, lime, cherry, or sugar free - $2.75 regular and $3.25 large). I love this place. I've loved this place for more than half my life. That's not the point of yelp, you just need to check this place out if you haven't yet, and for those who have tried it I'm sure you can agree every damn fried thing you eat from here makes your tummy happy!
(5)Chad Y.
There is something magical about a coated hot dog that is deep fried. Oh, let's just add some catchup and consume it with an ice cold lemonade. Doesn't that just sound heavenly? Well if you are in the mood for a corn dog and an ice cold fruity beverage, be sure to head on over to the Windward side of the island and stop by Hot Dog on a Stick. This magical concoction is simply divine and rather affordable! Service is usually very quick, considering they are making the food to order. Be sure to also check their hot dogs, cheese, fries, and all their other yummy goodness! Oh the cute little, funky hats and the yellow, red, and blue striped shirts are always entertaining as well!
(4)Cara G.
I wish there were more than one of these on the island! I love this chain and it is frequently included in my mall trips when I am back in California. Everything is fried, so don't come anywhere near here if you are on a diet. Everything is crispy, golden and delicious! Give each menu item a try, but be prepared to feel greasy and heavy afterwards. The people who work there are always very friendly and work very fast. I love Hot Dog on A Stick!
(5)Lillian H.
Whyyyy do they not have a location in town? Despite my attempting to be healthy, I just HAD to try this out. I go to Windward Mall once, maybe twice a year. I saw a lady carrying around a "hot dog on a stick" cup and I knew that I had to try it. I had been disappointed the day before at the Korean Festival--I had wanted to try the bacon wrapped hot dog but they ran out! And since I AM only at Windward Mall twice a year max, I had to try both their regular corn dog AND a cheese dog. Mmmm! How yummy they were! Please know that I did share these with my boyfriend (just so you know I'm not a TOTAL fatty). I love corn dogs! The only corn dogs I've had in the past few years are the ones that you buy frozen at Costco--not so good. I also loved my pepperjack cheese corn dog (I forgot what they call it). I tried the lemonade as well...VERY GOOD! Not sure when I'll be back to the Kaneohe area, but I am looking forward to trying the Portuguese corn dog! I am a little glad that they don't have locations in town or around where I live. This stuff is definitely NOT healthy.
(5)Nicole R.
Why did I give this place 5 stars... I did it because it's the ONLY Hot Dog on a Stick on the ENTIRE island!! So, recently I went to Windward mall with my family to show for some family bonding, then when we got there my brother and I were like "Let's go to Hot Dog on a Stick!" So little did we know, they moved to that really beautiful food court downstairs, when we got to their old location the both of us were upset... then as we 'sadly' dragged ourselves to the food court to find something that will satisfy our hunger we found Hot Dog on Stick's NEW location. I haven't been to Windward Mall in years! So, I was excited to see what they did with the mall, but even MORE excited to find that Hot Dog On A Stick upgraded itself and expanded their menu. Really, I can't go to windward mall without going to Hot Dog On A Stick, if you do you're committing a crime.
(5)Kristen C.
127/365 Considering that this is the only hot dog on a stick on the island, 5 stars for that! Hot dog on the stick has the best corn dog and I love that its freshly fried to order so that it comes to you piping hot and crispy mmm. Their fresh squeezed lemonades are also very good too, not too sweet yet not too tart; the perfect balance. The only "gripe" is that I wish they were located closer to me, or at least somewhere in town, maybe pearlridge or alamoana or even closer in the constant developing kapolei commons ;)!
(5)Carla K.
My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick and cheap weekend lunch on the road, I find that it tastes great regardless of whether you're in a hurry or relaxing in the food court! Hot Dog on a Stick is soooooo not a typical corn dog "shack." The Hot Dogs on a Stick were cooked (to perfection) right in front of us so they were nice and hot when we were ready to eat. We also ordered the zucchini sticks which were delicious and had a limeade to drink - so refreshing on a hot day! The serving size of the zucchini sticks is 6 pieces and it was enough to top off a meal. I was so full from a hot dog and half an order of the zucchini; because it's a hot dog, it's easy to think a single order isn't enough but it sure was. I think what makes the place so great are the staff members. The staff there was super friendly and even cracked jokes with customers while we waited for our food so the time that passes by waiting for an order goes by a little faster.
(5)Jade N.
I finally have you! Yum! I was craving for a corn dog especially the night before when I was at the movies and they served corn dog...although they ran out. Toney told me about this place and took me the next day! got my corn dog on. one regular corndog, one pepper jack corndog, with a lemonade. oh boy that was a appetite and thirst quencher. the best part is they make it right in front of you. it's not those pop it in the microwave and eat ordeal. i need to make a trip there again. sometime this week :)...toney!
(5)Ryan K.
I've been coming to this chain restaurant for 30+ years! No not at the Hawaii locations but as a kid in L.A.. For my parents it was the easiest food to feed a kid, "here you go son, food on a stick!" Since the beginning of my eating experiences there, they've changed a little. They now use healthier turkey dogs, have zucchini, and fish and chips; but what has remained the same is their lemonade. They do have new flavors like lime and cherry that are not that appealing to me. I'm just old school!
(4)Liz T.
Don't confuse a corn dog with a hot dog on a stick with a--one's frozen and reheated while the other's made to order according to Wikipedia. The cornbread batter here was a bit too thin and crisp for me--I like it more cakey and soft. I think it would've tasted better on the beach instead of in drab, lackluster Windward Mall. If you eat vegetarian but love fat (is this possible?), you'll be happy to know there are also french fries, cheese on a stick, and fried zucchini. I wasn't about to waste my daily discretionary calories on that stuff, though. Anyway, what's up with the ridiculous hats the employees have to wear?
(2)Dean H.
Lemonade and corn dogs. The End. Curtains are closing. Nothing to see here folks. The wizard is not behind the curtain...... Just kidding. It was a our THIRD stop on our EAT THE ISLAND 4 tour and it did not disappoint. People wanted something refreshing to drink and deep fried goodness. You know what, they got it. That lemonade is hands down the best I have drank in my long long long life. Come on now, I know you have tried it. This is how I rate my lemonade. Did it make my face do the "whatthewhat" sour? CHECK Did you see actual lemons in the mix? CHECK Did you see the colorful uniformed gal make the danged thing by hand? CHECK Well, there you go, that is a WINNER lemonade. Ok, how can you mess up a corn dog? Easy, have you tasted a good one? Well, you will if you go here. Nuff said about that.... Right in the middle of the food court (not upstairs by the cookie corner), right by the bathrooms, lots of space to sit, and somewhat happy staff help. She was SURE busy in a relatively empty food court. GIT YOUR LEMON DOGS! 038/365 sourrific yelp challenge...get it!
(5)Janine R.
Everyone I know loves this place! What's not to love? It's a hot dog or cheese... Stuck on a stick.... Dipped in batter... And fried! With french fries and a refreshing lemonade to finish off the meal! But my new favorite here is the funnel cake sticks! These are so addicting i can eat em like french fries! Only problem is a meal like that will cost you a lot and leave you starving and needing more! Just for my 11 year old son we can spend about $11 and he still wants more! The genius of it all is that it's so darn good that we keep going back for more no matter how much it costs... We just can't seem to stop ourselves! What can I say I'm a sucker for those cheese sticks and funnel sticks!
(3)Phung C.
Hands down the best lemonade on the island.......no, it not from concentrate or "flavored". it's freshly "squeezed" with the right amount of water and real sugar (Splenda if you're into that). This is why I find myself driving over 20 miles just to get my hands on one of these babies. I was going to take off one star just because they do not have any other locations on the island but of course, that did not seem fair. After all it IS the best lemonade. Oh, their food is good too. But then again, what's not to like about fried food done right. Good batter plus good hotdog/cheese or fresh zucchini equals yumminess. oooh....now I gotto make that drive out to Windward Mall and get me some.
(5)Lofa L.
Is it wrong that for the past two visits I didn't order anything except zucchini? No lemonade, no cheese, no hot dogs. I still enjoyed it!
(5)Ashley O.
Can I just say... I LOVE THIS PLACE. A trip to Windward Mall just ain't complete until I have me some Hot Dog on a Stick and lemonade! I have NEVER been unhappy after I eat at this place. I love cheese. Cheese makes me happy. Cheese makes everything right in my world. After I eat my yummy cheese on a stick, I get a little sad, though... sad that the cheese is gone. I find myself wanting and wishing I had more cheese. Sigh. The menu here is simple and you CANNOT GO WRONG. Anything you order will ROCK. Yes, you heard me correctly. It will absolutely ROCK. The deep fried zukes are good. The corn dogs are good. The fries are good. The lemonade is good. And don't forget, the cheese is... oh my goodness, I want some.
(5)Stefanie M.
Okay, so you need to like corndogs in the first place to appreciate this place, but if you do this place is just amazing! Hot Dog on A Stick is one of those places that only has a handful of menu items, but they do all of them consisitently great. Their menu is simple--corn dogs, cheese sticks, french fries, fried zucchini & fish, and fresh lemonade. All items are made to order so dogs and fries come piping hot. My favorite is the cheese on a stick. There is something about the gooey american cheese coated in fried batter dipped in ketchup that is just heavenly! Corn dogs are great too. They are always perfectly fried, never over or under done in all my visits (and thats a lot). Every other place I order corn dogs from always comes with a soggy crust, but here it is always perfectly crisped. Lemonade is also very fresh. I mean, you see the workers jumping up and down in the back making it (which is entertaining as well). You can also add different flavors such as cherry and lime. Original or cherry is the way to go. Over the years the prices have gone up--two corn dogs, fries and a lemonade will be about $10 but I think it's still worth it. For a while it was $1 Corn dog tuesdays which was routine for me, but i dont think they offer that anymore :( Unfortunate but I still go anyways! If you happen to find yourself cruising around Windward Mall and don't mind the fried goodness I'd definitely recommend Hot Dog on A Stick.
(4)Alex A.
Hot Dog on a Stick is one of the best reasons to go to Windward Mall. Anytime we happen to be in Kaneohe, Hot Dog on a Stick is always a top flight option for us when it comes time to feed our tummy. The Windward Mall location is the only one on the island, giving it that special sense of importance--and they recently relocated the eatery into the brand spanking new food court. Anyway, the food here is awesome. If you love corn dogs, this is the best corn dog you can find...screw those frozen corn dogs you buy from Costco, pal. And you cannot forget the cheese on a stick! I highly recommend Pepper Jack if you're into food that bites you back a bit. Basically they take a block of cheese on a stick, cover it in the same batter they use for the hot dogs and deep fry that baby into a perfect melding of cheesy delight. The fun part is, you only have a certain window to truly eat it. You can't jump in too quckly or you'll sear your taste buds off, but if you wait too long the gooey delight begins to harden and you have something akin to a string cheese explosion glued onto the fried battered shell (still good, but not the fried cheesy nirvana that happens when you eat it at the perfect moment). Now, that's just SOME of the food. We didn't get the zucchini this time but its also a favorite. What really takes this place over the top is the fresh lemonade. Some of the best lemonade you'll find anywhere! They have fancy pants flavors for your kids, but us grown folk love the original recipe. Perfect way to treat yourself to lunch on a hot summer day.
(5)Jay C.
WHO DOESN'T LOVE HOT DOG ON A STICK???? um, my friends and i go OUT of our way for this stuff! it's a "special trip" from town to Windward Mall, but certainly worth it! we made the long 20 minute drive out to kaneohe and found two locations within the mall! we sampled the new food court locale. the corndogs, deep fried zucchini, deep fried fish and fresh squeezed lemonade ROCK! they make the food on demand and it is served HOT and fresh...(except for the lemonade which is served ice-cold and fresh). somehow the employees are professional, friendly and courteous despite having to multi-task the fryer and cash register. SERIOUSLY, if i had to fry corn dogs non-stop, i don't think i could smile and be pleasant. especially NOT on dollar dog tuesdays when hoards of people show up and order dozens to go! anyhoo, perhaps Mariposa could take some notes...
(5)Betty S.
Hot Dog on a Stick reminds me of my younger years. The corn dogs and cheese on a stick are always cooked perfectly and the frozen lemonade- delicious! You should also try the frozen lemonade mixed with tea.
(5)Ikaika T.
This is one of maybe 3 or 4 other Windward Mall venues that has withstood the test of time, and for very good reason, the food here is simple. The formula: take something, batter it, fry it. My favorite has always been cheese on a stick. When I was a little kid my dad used to take me to tilt, give me $5, which was worth 25 tokens, and then we'd go eat at Hot Dog on a Stick. If you're thirsty from all the fatty/salty goodness I suggest washing it all down with an incredibly acidic lemonade, it consists of water and lemons - like how it's supposed to be. In the 15 or so years I've been coming here I've never seen a male employee. *conspiracy!*
(5)michael E.
Been around since windward mall opened, but has new location in the food court. Mall directory signs have not been updated, so be warned. I like that they make it fresh, and it's always a hit with kids. Kids love corn dogs, and I like lemonade.
(4)Anela B.
Cherry Lime Lemonade!!!! Awesome. I always get one when I'm in the area. Also love the cheese sticks and zucchini
(5)Christopher C.
Visit: 1/28/10 - Dinner. Ate the hotdog on a stick, Fish and large lemonade. Hotdog on a stick was okay. I think the funnel cake flavor is mixing with the hotdogs. Fish was not so good today. Not sure why. Lemonade was good. Price is okay. Service was terrible. The girls running this place are slow and their friends keep coming and bother them while they work. I will come back, but I would be wary.
(3)Mayumi L.
My alma mater!! I worked here in the early years of the new millennium! I have extremely fond memories of crushing lemons, making batter, frying food, and wearing our signature hats! The food=great, served with aloha. The girls are amazingly nice: ask for Chrissy, Sharelle, Janelle, Tiffany, or any of the new gang. It is an employee owned company, and the items are priced just right. Kid Friendly!
(5)George T.
The best corn dogs and lemonade out there. I rest my case!
(5)Jesus R.
I don't eat at Hotdog on a Stick much in the Bay Area. So when I heard that the place to go for good deep fried fish and zucchini in Oahu is Hotdog on a Stick, I was a little skeptical. They don't offer fish or zucchini at the locations in the Bay Area, so I thought I would give it a try. And thank the lord that I did because it was great! The thing that makes it good is the batter. It's light and not too greasy. The fish was good, but the zucchini was really good. It was so good that my wife, who does NOT eat vegetables ate almost all of them. If something is that good that my wife will even eat it and love it, then that alone deserves high marks. The workers were also very helpful, and the service was fast. They even had Portuguese sausage on a stick, which seemed like a good idea. And I hear the funnel cake sticks are really good here as well. The only thing I don't really care for are the slightly high prices. But when you have good product, I guess it's justified. Maybe I'm spoiled by the fact that I can get a really good-sized and tasty hotdog and soda at Costco for $1.50.
(4)Rise D.
OMG... I love Hot Dog on a Stick! If you are ever on the windward side or at Windward Mall, you NEED to go to Hot Dog on a Stick. Not only is it the best store in Windward Mall, it's also the only one on Oahu. I love the hot dog, cheese stick, and cherry lemonade. It's so good. It's pricey at $2.50 for a hot dog or cheese on a stick, but so yummy. I wouldn't mind working there. I love the uniforms! Customer service is stellar there too. One time someone stole our order, but the employees replaced it and also threw in a coupon for free fries on our next visit. Five stars for Hot Dog on a Stick!!
(5)Kim B.
When I was pregnant I would crave cheese sticks and cherry lemonade. It just so happened that 2 employees of Hot Dog on a Stick were also pregnant at the same time (coincidetally we all gave birth around the same time) and one of the girls turned me on to dipping my cheese stick into rnach dressing and follwoing that up with some french fries. Ummmmmmmm...seventh heaven! The prices are a bit pricey, but very much worth every penny!
(5)June O.
If your a sucker for fried foods this is a good place. Fried zucchinis and lemonade is a must...
(4)Jaynie K.
Super good lemonade! I always have to order one when I go to Windward Mall. And if you're able to catch them in the process of actually making the lemonade, you'll quietly giggle, like I do. It's so fun! If you're feeling like a snack, don't miss out on a freshly fried piping hot corn dog! You may end up burning your mouth if you're impatient (like I am), so be careful! I'm very intrigued by the cheese on a stick. Will try next time.
(4)Jennie S.
I like hot dogs, and I like sticks. But when you put both together, it turns into love, and I LOVE Hot Dog on a Stick. Not only are the hotdogs on a stick good, their lemonade (all 3 flavors) is AWESOME to the power of 10, and their cheese on a stick is... indescribable. Okay, I gotta end it here before I keep on writing about how much I love this place. 5 STARS, WOOHOOO! :D
(5)Kenny C.
There is nothing really extra special about this place. It's simple food you could probably find in the frozen foods isle in your supermarket. But it has a magical draw to it. Even though its a little expensive we keep on going there to eat. You can see everything cooked in front your eyes and it tastes good.
(4)Tiani B.
so GOOD!!! easy to order, not a long wait....did expect to spend $11 but it was worth it
(5)chuck m.
I've been coming here for years. I think since the mall has opened up back in the 80's. I like the hot dogs because they cook it when you order but the zucchini is really good. Zucchini, ranch and a little lemon. Yummy in my tummy. Oh yeah, get a large cherry lemonade to wash all the grease down.
(4)APRIL R.
chhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeee hooo! Go Paiike !!! =)
(5)Danielle O.
Being the only "Hot Dog on a Stick" on the island, you have got to make this place a "Must Visit" no matter where you are on oahu. Ive lived out on the windward side for most of my life and have been a regular at this place since childhood. My Top Picks?? The Fried Zucchini, Funnel Cakes, and FROZEN CHERRY LEMONADE!! The fried zucchini also comes in a combo with batter-fried fish and is really a meal for two! The funnel cakes are relatively new, but with powdered sugar and a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top, its one item on the menu that is sure to make a delightful and permanent fit. For my All Time--Must Have--Frozen Cherry Lemonade--all I can say is "Aaagghh!" Refreshing, sweet, and just enough tang to it. Plus, the large size is LARGE and does not disappoint! Decent prices, generally good service (just got to watch for those few employees who have their own convos while trying to ring your order up!-) FYI---They have a $1.00 special for all hot dogs on a stick every Tuesday!
(5)Brandi C.
My guilty pleasure, hot dog on a stick dipped in mustard and a large lemonade. Puts me in a happy place while walking around the mall; I don't even notice that my feet are killing me in my 4 inch heels. It's that good.
(4)Mallory M.
HOT DOG TUESDAYS! :) Hot dog on a stick for one dollar?? I'm in!!! Service is awesome no matter how busy they are! Their always so cheerful and happy! Yesterday they had free hotdog on a stick from 5-8pm for their valued customers. SweeeT! But one of the reasons to drive to Kaneohe! :)
(5)Guy H.
With only 1 location on the island I have to make a pilgrimage to Windward Mall in order to satisfy the corn dog and cheese on a stick craving. In addition to the 2 staples the fried zuccini is also excellent and it's always nice to wash it all down with a lemonade in any of the available flavors.
(4)Jeraldine O.
I usually like eating here when I come to the Kaneohe area and on Sunday I was kind of disappointed :(. The fries that I ordered were stale and the hotdog was alright I don't know if it was just Sunday but I wasn't too happy with the things I ordered and the money I spent for it one hotdog cost $2.75 + tax... Wth so expensive.
(3)Cy C.
Love the hats. Looking for a dog on a stick well here we go. I've done many fundraisers where I make waffle or corn dogs. Trust me people its very cheap to make these dogs. When I did this fundraisers I was shocked to hear they don't cook the hotdogs. My suggestion to waffle or corndogs makers grill your dogs. Maybe I should open a hotdog stand. Well I am happy to report Hot Dog on a stick uses turkey dogs which I like. Lemondes are refreshing. I know how much it costs to make a corn or waffle dog so bring down the prices. If anything just check out the cute uniforms. Make it your pick try a dog at HOT DOG ON A STICK,

So, I like mostly everything from here. Granted their menu consists of like a handful of things, but it's not bad. It has gotten a bit more expensive over the years though. I'm still a more Weinerschitzel corn dog kind of guy if we're talking about fast food hot dogs. HDOAS' different lemonades are what really set if off for me though. I remember, even as a kid, that I always found that working at HDOAS was a bit weird. They always had these young girls (and I mean always) in that technicolor dreamcoat of a tank-top with the short shorts and a weird doofusy looking chapeau (yeah, dropping some French on you). On top of all that they were always bouncing up and down pounding away making their lemonade in a plastic looking trash can. Thump, thump. Thump, thump. The beat was always the same too. Anyway, I shrugged it off cause I was all into that lemonade and corn dog. This was until, my good friend started working at one of the locations back home. Dude had to wear a technicolor dreamcoat t-shirt and a visor. The shorts? Yeah, he had to wear those John Stockton bright red beaters as well. I think he got paid well to do that (or I hope he did) he was a district manager after all, but I shrugged that off too cause bro-ham hooked it up. The moral to this story? If your friend hooks you up with food you like, you learn to ignore the beaters.

I love Hot Dog on a Stick! Especially their cherry lemonade! The only reason we go to Windward Mall is to go there. I wish they had one in Pearlridge or Ala Moana!

Hot dog, cheese dog, lemonade, cheery lemonade, lime lemonade, fried zucchini. What's your choice, everything is great, and fast. You just have to wait in anticipation, then when you get your food, wait some more, cause it's fresh out of the frier. Im glad I grew up with this place, n'd can't remember the day I figured that one out!

All the workers are friendly, and it is a great deal for the food, especially on tuesdays when the hot dogs are $1.

When I have a craving I want Hot Dog on a Stick. OK. Maybe a little PMS is involved too, but it seems like I cannot get enough. Ever!!! Cherry lemonade. The biggest size is a must. Sweet, yet tart balance of cherry lemony aid and ice cold too! If you get the regular size you will finish it in a couple of minutes. Bigger is better for sure! Next is the Fish and Zucchini. Cannot leave without this. Crunchy, HOT, fried yumminess. I always dive in knowing that it just came out of the fryer, then if too earnestly desirous I get to remember how much I love their fried foods til my burnt tastebuds return. Be careful or ouch! Thank goodness for the lemonade! The batter is perfectly crunchy while the fish and zucchini is firm, not mushy. More than enough ranch and tartar sauce for your entire meal. The serving is large and worth it! Gotta get the hot dog and the american cheese on a stick too! The batter is perfect with these. Don't forget the ketchup and mustard! A bite of this, then a bite of that, then a swig of lemonade! Can it get much better!?! The workers are very nice. In good shape too due to all that lemon juicing. Always polite and cheerful. The food is made per order. Comes to you very hot and very cold! Every craving satisfied in one visit! Oh geez, got myself wanting more again! Gotta get some soon or I'll go cuckoo. Don't need the pms to lead me there today! See ya'll there!!!

i make the drive out to windward mall just for their lemonade. they have original, cherry, lime, and sugar free. it's made fresh daily and i love the cherry flavored one the most. best lemonade ever. EVER! i don't care for their other stuff since its basically overpriced corn dogs and fried cheese but damn their lemonade rocks my socks!

All about the lemonade and the classic hotdog on a stick. Hooray for specialization.

We drive out to Windward Mall just to go to this place. Yup I have also frequented Las Vegas since I have family there and Hot Dog on a Stick is everywhere. When I am craving a corn dog, cherry lemonade, AND even the zucchini sticks with ranch, I head on over to Kaneohe side just for the tasty grease! It is also fairly entertaining when the workers squeeze the lemons to make the lemonade. :)

this is one of the reasons why i love going to windward mall. it's a mainland thing, and i think that's why i like it so much. it's more like a corn dog...it's not a complaint. corn dogs are awesome!

If you like corn dogs, you'll LOVE Hot Dog on a Stick. Seriously, what's not to love about a hot dog that's dipped in batter and deep fried right before your eyes? If, like me, you don't eat beef, you'll also be happy to know that their hot dogs are made from turkey. And if you're not in the mood for meat, try the Cheese on a Stick--it tastes like a grilled cheese sandwich, only better!
