Rating: 5/5 Date visited: 6/22/2013, and once before sometime in 2013 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 4/5 I was just looking to see what they had...I was treated so kindly by the girls that worked there that I had to buy. I love being treated that way. Keep up the good work girls and I'll be back! Food: Healthy and tastes great! Service: Super friendly and not pushy. Atmosphere: Just right and intimate. Price: Well worth what you get...Great breads and excellent service. Parking: Enough...I've always managed to get front row.

The amazing scent just lingers in the air drawing any customer to this small family friendly bread shop. It's kind of like those cartoons when the scent from grandmas oven travels out the window and those around just float towards her house to take part of the goodies. Although we don't visit this place that often, when we do, I can guarantee the bread is perfect and products are exactly what we expected. Guaranteed quality! Fresh hot bread! Can't beat it! They have all types from cinnamon chip to hot cross buns, biscotti, cake mix, granola, etc! I love that when you walk in they ask if you want a sample, but the sample is not an ordinary sample, it's a whole slice of bread! Waahooo! After buying 5 loaves today- for family, my tummy is happy, kids are happy with samples and I'm on my way! The bread cost a bit more than your regular supermarket bread but that's to be expected since for one, it's hot and fresh and two, there's all different and unique types! Great quality, great service-- every time!!

GHBC is my newest obsession. At one point I was getting a sandwich here at least once a week. It's that darn good! I believe there are two kinds of eateries...there are those that try to make ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. Unfortunately most of these places end up being mediocre to terrible (diners are the exception) because they're just trying to do too much and end up not doing anything particularly well. Then there are places that do just a few dishes but make them extraordinarily well. Great Harvest falls into the second group. They have only 5 or 6 types of sandwiches. Each is amazing in it's own special way. And each one is made with such love and care that you half expect to see a note in the bag from mom reminding you of how much she loves you. First of all, each visit starts with a sample of FRESH bread. And, holy crap, its the best bread you've ever had and you can make a mini-meal off of the sample they give you. I'm in love with the cinnamon bread but just about everything is divine. Pair this were a few different types of butters (cinnamon, garlic, sweet butter) and you've got some food from the gods right there! My favorite sandwich is the kickin' chipotle - freshly cut roast beef, with fresh veggies, on fresh bread. The sauce they use has enough kick to make it extra yummy but not so much to mask the meaty/bready awesomeness of the sandwich. If that doesn't satisfy your hunger they also have freshly made cookies and lemon bars that are also out of this world.

Good squall bread, and fresh veggies (lettuce, tomato, red onions) but the sandwiches are like Subway, processed roast beef, cheese, and sauce. OK in a pinch.

Though the parking lot is small and busy, it's worth braving the hassle to experience the warm, fresh-baked breads from Great Harvest. I remember specifically making a trip out here to get my favorite loaves so I could make sandwiches for the week. The staff is always warm and friendly, and more often than not, there are samples of some of the different breads/scones featured for the day. Great Harvest features a monthly bread schedule, and certain loaves and pastries are featured on specific days. Be sure to check the online menu if you're looking for something in particular. Also, they offer to cut the bread for you if you buy a loaf ... but I always opted to cut the loaf myself, since I prefer bigger slices and you get thin slices if the bread comes pre-cut. Without further ado, here's my recs for you if you're visiting Great Harvest: "Chocolate Peanut Butter Bread": This is, hands down, my favorite bread from Great Harvest. I don't currently see it on the December menu, but I remember that this loaf used to be available on Saturdays (and at least one other day of the week). It features generous morsels of chocolate chips throughout the bread. While I can't remember if the bread itself sported a light peanut butter flavor or if there were peanut butter chips within the bread as well, one thing's certain -- this was a GREAT peanut butter-chocolate combo and you got the best of both worlds in every bite! I remember making a Nutella sandwich with this bread once and it was seriously a slice of heaven. I would specifically come to Great Harvest on days when this bread was available! "Cinnamon Chip": I love how this light bread contains lots and lots of cinnamon chips. The bread itself is moist and fluffy, and the cinnamon chips provide a subtle sweetness. You get a taste of these morsels in every bite. If I want a sweeter bread--and my favorite "Chocolate Peanut Butter" loaf isn't being featured for the day--this is my go-to. "Cheddar Garlic": When it comes to savory breads, I think this "Cheddar Garlic" is my favorite because there's lots of cheddar cheese coated throughout the entire loaf. I remember that, with every slice of the bread that I cut, each piece had big or small chunks of cheddar. The savory garlic taste is present as well, and this sandwich is absolutely amazing when you use it to make grilled cheese (you get the ultimate cheesy sandwich when using this bread, because the Cheddar already included in the loaf melts down as well!). "Squall": This is the basic no-fuss, no-frills bread I get when I want a staple for making sandwiches. I've always liked the darker squall bread, and I usually cut the slices thick to make thicker sandwiches. The bread is soft and chewy and it's consistently made well. "Cinnamon Chip Cream Cheese Scone": From time to time, I opt for the bakery's pastries and sweets, and this delightful scone was pretty similar to the "Cinnamon Chip" loaf. The scone was flaky and light and sported a generous serving of cinnamon chips as well. The cream cheese wasn't heavy or overpowering as well, and I would get this sweet pick-me-up again. "Chocolate Chip Cookie": This is one of my favorite chocolate chip cookies because it's large in size--you definitely get what you pay for--and the cookie itself is moist, soft and chewy. Though the cookie is larger and thinner--sort of like a pancake--it's not hard and crispy, which I definitely appreciated! It's always nice to get one of these when they're warm, fresh from the oven. "Spinach Parmesan": I have yet to try this bread, but because I love spinach and Parmesan--salad, pizza, you name it--I'm sure I'll like this savory bread! I bet it's also great for grilled cheese sandwich-making! The name itself reminds me of my favorite "White Pizza" (made with spinach, Parmesan and white sauce) at CPK. "Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Scone": This is another scone that I have yet to try, but I'm hoping that it's filled with lots and lots of chocolate chips. Since I enjoyed the "Cinnamon Chip Cream Cheese Scone," I'm positive that I'll like this chocolaty version as well.

Their bread is so good! Light, fluffy and soft. Try the cinnamon bread with cinnamon butter! $4-8 a loaf. Butter spreads about $4 The cookies are good but a little too sweet for me. Most pastries were $2-5. Friendly, fast customer service.
(5)Jazlyn B.
The cinnamon chocolate chip bread with the cinnamon butter are to die for! I came in on valentines day and the bread was colored pink. I thought that was a cute touch. Our sampling turned into buying in a heart beat!

Yelp 100 Challenge #58/100 I should have known better that if I walk into the Great Harvest Bread Co. I wouldn't come out of there empty handed. That smell of fresh baked bread is hard to resist. This Great Harvest Bread Co. is located in a tiny mini mall with DLS, Petland, Animal Doctor, and a Convenience store. When we walked in we were greeted by Jodi who asked if we wanted to try some bread. I really tried to resist that little voice in my head that said, "Yes you do, yes you do." In the end that little voice won and I had the Lo Carb bread. I know what you're thinking, "How can bread be lo carb?" I don't know either but it was good. There were 3 more selections and my son tried the herb parmesan and he loved it. Unfortunately for me my good intentions of lo carb bread was ruined by me putting on some ono cinnamon butter and herb butter. In the end we walked out with some pumpkin spice bread and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They also expanded the eating area and now there is a couple of tables to eat your sandwich or dessert selection. They just got that done a few weeks ago so it's new. Overall I love Great Harvest because of the smell of bread and you get to try some awesome samples. Jodi was really nice and when we left the other employee said bye as well. Another great 5 star experience at Great Harvest Bread company!

Sweet little bread shop in a mall on the mauka exit off of the highway in Kahala. Nice selection of organic healthy breads. It's kind of hard to distinguish the entrance from the diagnostic laboratory and blood collection place next-door, my suggestion would be 1) have the blood people give out a coupon for dollar off a loaf of bread after they had to fast for a day prior to giving blood. 2) to have the dine in area have OpenWindows screened so that you can enjoy some fresh air while having a bread and jam and coffee or a couple tables outside to bring some attention and life to the front of the shop which would make it better. The staff is nice and offer a sample when you walk in the door and the one girl looks like ZiYi the hot actress from movie Crouching Tiger so they got that going for them
(5)Kristen N.
Woozy from having blood drawn, I walk into this lovely place smelling of fresh bread, with smiling faces asking if I would like to sample any of the breads. I must be in heaven. The angel cuts me a slice and as I take a bite, my suspicion is confirmed. Heavenly, just heavenly. I love that Rosemary Garlic bread, but I could literally eat the whole half loaf in one sitting so I got the 5 Fiber, which has 5g of Fiber in every slice! And their power bars are amazing. So are their baked goods and their sandwiches. Can I just live here? I wanted to try the sweet breads, but fear of eating the entire loaf stopped me. Maybe I'll get brave on my next trip to heaven.

Awesome bakery! lemon bars are wonderful I recommend the sandwiches, very yummy the parking is okay, sundays are really busy bc of the pet store staff is friendly they have free samples clean place they run out of the good stuff, so you should go early. they also have butter/spreads for the breads,

I've been coming to this part of Kahala for a while now and I never knew this place was so good. First thing I walk in the door, stand In the doorway, look around a bit and the next thing is I'm being lured up to the counter by a friendly worker with a big handful of sample rosemary garlic bread and a select of 3 complimentary bread spreads which I had more of, you guessed it.. More Garlic!! So Delicious! Me and my girl got our own sandwich to spilt. I got their popular Chicken salad sandwich the rosemary garlic bread & my girl got the turkey sandwich with RGB. Yum yum & yummy!!!! Soo soft, so moist, fluffy and flavorful. They really know how to make bread that's for sure. I'm aware that bread can be undercooked and it is something people should look out for to save the body from food poisoning. I've had it and it's not fun. Though when I was here one of the workers asked her coworker to check the temperature of the loaves before handing it to the customer. Good looking out girl! I will be back to try other goodies!

I'd like to put out a warning here. I have in the past had good service from this location but recently when purchasing pastries I had a experience of food poisoning and that was very troubling. I had a friend come over to examine one of the pastries I had purchased, she is a professional cook. She examined it and discovered that the center of the pastry was not fully cooked and still had raw dough in there. This is how I got sick. So I just want to warn you, if you go to this location make sure that you inquire whether the pastries were fully and thoroughly cooked. If we all ask that maybe they'll not make this mistake again though I do not plan to return to this location.

My review is actually for the bread I got at the Blaisdell Center Farmer's Market. I bought a Spinach/Parmesan Loaf. It tasted good by itself but tonight I had some with Garlic Oil & Balsamic Vinegar. Awesome! I had a taste of the Cinnamon Chip Bread and it was just ok. Maybe if it were heated with butter? I don't know. If you like Spinach Dip, be sure to get the Spinach Parmesan Loaf if you see it!

Dave v is the DUMBEST person on the planet apparently. Clearly he hasn't had to work in an actual food industry, because if you did you would see that 1. The ad said HALF loafs and the LOW carb is half loaf. And two you can't sell a loaf of bread that has already been sold In half loafs. You sir should know better. GREAT HARVEST YOU RULE, you're bread is great your scones are great and your service is great. Don't change a thing!!
(5)Kanani C.
Delicious bread and sandwiches. The chicken salad sandwich in particular is delicious. Also their whipped butters are delicious, there is a cinnamon whipped butter that's outstanding with warm, toasted bread. They also sell jams and jellies.

Atkins diet, you can sit in the corner with all the other fads and trends that have died a slow and horrible death. Carbs, we're friends for life. Pasta, rice, bread... come to Papa! I come here for the bread, I don't need to get fancy with scones and pastries and other foofoo delectables that take up much needed belly space. No sir. My order has become a loaf of the Honey Whole Wheat bread and a half loaf of the AMAZING Cinnamon Chip loaf. The half loaf becomes a quarter loaf on the drive back home, c'est la vie to those that wanted some. It's like a cinnabon squeezed into a perfect dome of happiness and the ultimate guilty pleasure of mine. The Whole Wheat loaf is to pretend I'm being healthy and wholesome but really it is to not embarrass me since I would probably just order a dozen Cinnamon Chip loafs. BTW, if you haven't had the Cinnamon Chip loaf do it now. Only if you value happiness and not your waistline.
(5)Melina P.
A little pricey but worth it. All the breads are delicious (fresh & so soft!) I tried the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies for the first time recently also & YUM! I hate "crunchy" cookies so I was pleasantly surprised when I got home, ready to soak one of these in a big glass of milk & it crumbled in my hand! Could do with a little more peanut butter flavor but I will definitely be back for more!
(4)Zachary J.
As soon as you walk in you a greeted with smiling faces and the aroma of fresh baked goods! No better smell. They need an air freshener with that smell. I had the chipotle sandwich and it was great. Just the right amount of kick. For dessert a cookie and that was just as good. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience and I can't wait to go back.
(5)Nica N.
Great customer service. Always super friendly staff. Upon opening the door, somebody always if you want a sample.
(5)Dianne H.
I love this place. I make sure to pick up a loaf whenever I go near Kahala. Their Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies are heaven! I've also had other pieces of heaven such as: - Blueberry Cream Cheese Bread - Mini Cranberry Cream Cheese Bread - Cinnamon Bread - Strawberry Shortcake Loaf - Pumpkin Chip Loaf All very awesome!

Woah baby! When it comes to bakeries, Great Harvest is the best of the best! Their breads and sweets change on the reg, so be sure to check their website to see what kinds of deliciousness is in store for you each day. OR you could be spontaneous and let them surprise you! You'll never be disappointed! (Unless you go later in the day and they're sold out of what you want.) Their breads are always baked fresh in the morning and their sweets are prepared the night before, so everything is always guaranteed fresh & ready to eat! Their breads vary from savory (ex: three cheese garlic...MY FAV!) to healthy (ex: honey whole wheat) to sweet (white chocolate cherry). The cinnamon chip bread makes the BEST french toast on the face of this earth and the pizza bread makes an awesome BBQ addition. Their cookies, muffins, and cinnamon rolls are to DIE for, and some of their sweets are made with whole wheat and are guilt free! (well, relatively...) ;) This location also makes amaaaazing sandwiches! Yum yum yum!

FALSE ADVERTISING!!! Breads: 5/5 Cookies and Pastries: 3/5 Customer Service: 0/5 Overall: 1/5 - I gave it two stars so more people would read the review (since i routinely knock out the ones and fives to see what the true sentiment is on an establishment) The monthly ad for Great Harvest implies that you can buy a loaf of bread and if you mention the ad - you get a half loaf free. I went in and bought my regular loaf of fantastic, still warm, extremely tasty Kauai Crunch bread and asked for my half loaf of Kauai Crunch - only to be told that it's not a 1/2 loaf of any bread only one of their pre made 1/2 loafs. I asked the woman behind the counter if she could honor the ad and just cut a loaf in half - needless to say, she said no (otherwise I would not be posting this diatribe). I mentioned the ad again and she told me that if I did not want to have one of the pre made 1/2 loafs, I didn't have to participate in the offer. I then told her that her attitude was pissy, took my loaf, went home and have sat down at my computer to figure out what happened to customer service. Let me see how this could have been worked into a good solution for both of us: 1. the woman would have told me about the other loafs available 2. I repeat the ad offer, expressing my desire for a 1/2 loaf of the Crunch 3. She realizes she is dealing with an adamant (albeit a nut job) customer 4. She cuts a loaf in half and uses the remainder as a sample to hand out to customers In a market today with many people looking for jobs, it amazes me that companies still hire people unable to work outside the box and satisfy customers. If employers would stress customer satisfaction above all else, they would guarantee repeat patronage and not bad yelp reviews.
(2)Vanessa C.
Incredibly nice people. Good food. The cheddar garlic bread is my favorite. Freshly baked bread is just so awesome. Parking has never been a problem (maybe I've been lucky). Highly recommended. Oh, did I say they have samples? ;)
(5)Kermit F.
Breads are just OK for me, but maybe I'm just not much of a bread person, because the desserts I've tried so far are awesome - blueberry cream cheese scones and lemon bars. They are a bit pricey - I ended up paying over $15 for 2 scones and 3 lemon bars, but then again, they are so huge that it's almost ridiculous for one person to eat the whole thing.
(4)D M.
This week staff mmmm maybe didn't have as good customer service which was shocking especially to explain to the new customer about the email 3 Stamps buy 1 bread.
(3)Steven L.
Absolutely love this place. Gaelic cheddar cheese bread or the pizza loaf are kick ass!!! Wifey likes cinnamon butter on cinnamon loaf. Great job guys!!! Sorry I never wrote sooner. But you guys rock
(5)Yuko A.
I used to go to Great Harvest Bread in college alllllll the time. I'm not going to lie, sometimes we would go just to get a free slice of bread. I know, my broke ass couldn't even buy a loaf of bread...Well, I could but I would rather have spend it on going out to eat or booze... Anyway, I had only been to this location once before but I don't think I bought anything. I just wanted to see if they had my favorite cinnamon swirl and almond babka loafs...Unfortunately they didn't at the time so I didn't really come back until yesterday. I was at Lanikai Juice and remembered that Great Harvest was right around the corner so we decided to walk over and check it out. They only had a cheese bread, a healthy non-carb Kauai bread, a honey wheat, and a cinnamon chip bread available. I like healthy whole grain breads but I was feeling a sweet tooth coming on and decided to splurge on the cinnamon chip. (Its like $8 for a loaf) I tried a slice of the cinnamon chip and decided this was it. It wasn't even warm yet but it was doughy and I have a weakness to doughy bread. I knew that when toasted and buttered that crispy, slightly toasted outside and the doughy inside slathered with butter would be unbeatable....And it was..I just enjoyed a slice this morning with a big glass of milk. Yum! YELP 365: 227/365

I often dream of running through fields of grain and of the frontier spirit portrayed in the Little House books. Usually when that happens, a hankering for good whole wheat bread arises and I end up at Great Harvest Bread Co. They offer great breads and good service so that you can get your carbs and be on your way! As you approach the Kahala store, the smell of fresh bread wafting from their chimneys almost overwhelms you. Well, it could be bread, or perhaps a scone, or maybe a roll. In either case, whether you crave something sweet or something savory, you will be sure to find something. Whether it is the cream cheese scones or perhaps their BLT sandwich, it aims to please. Check out one of their samples while you are there and you probably will get hooked! Service is generally efficient and the staff are pretty quick to get your order completed and get you on your way. The store itself is fairly basic and there are only about 2 or 3 tables if you plan on getting a sandwich and eating there. You probably are better off just picking it up and heading to a nearby park. Prices are a little on the higher side with a 6 pack of rolls costing about $4.75 and loaves generally in the $5 to $6 range. Parking is usually available unless you go on Sunday's when Petland is having their puppy swap meet, but I don't think they are open on Sunday's come to think of it. Leaving the lot is another story, especially with the traffic along the highway. Definitely one of the better places on the island to grab some complex carbohydrates! Is it worth the trek if you aren't in the area? Heck yes!
(4)Kelly G.
I like stopping in to grab a cinnamon chip loaf every once in awhile ... very yummy toasted !!! Also enjoy their sandwiches and muffins - not a fan of the cream cheese type scones or crumbly cookies BUT do like their rotating schedule of breads, soups, bars, etc. They are running a promotion right now that you print their on line coloring page - bring it in with your child after he has colored it & redeem for a free cookie ( one per child per month ). If you are a Ambrosia or Hot Cross Bun fan they are still making them till the end of April. note: you can use their customer stamp card for both sandwiches & or bread purchases.... & they do not start making sandwiches till 10 am
(4)Lin K.
If I could put no stars I would. I ordered the last two scones and was paying for it. Another customer comes in after me and orders scones also, while I'm waiting for my change. The other customer gets my scones that I just paid for and my cashier says sorry she just took the last two scones. WTH!! I was in here first and paid for it and you're telling me sorry cause the other cashier gave it to the customer after me. This place needs to teach their employees about customer service!! This is the first response that I received from their manager... "I am very sorry about your experience in our bakery and thank you for letting us know about the situation you've experienced. We try to help every customer as best as possible. It truly is part of our mission statement. Sometimes we do make mistakes and that's how we learn and improve. We would be more than happy to treat you to the two scones you did not receive today. Just let whoever is working know your name and we will have it written down so they know not to charge you. For future reference, we ALWAYS advise our customers to place orders even if it is just for one scone. That way, they will never be disappointed when they come to visit our bakery. We normally sell out of scones very early so a phone call the day before or that morning will assure you your scones when you come in, especially if you're driving from a distance. Then I received this one... "I spoke with the girls who were working and ____, the girl helping you, told me that right after you ordered the scones and cookie she went back to grab them but was stopped by you to ring you up first. Our normal practice is to do as she did and grab the product first to ensure someone right behind doesn't have the opportunity to order what you've just ordered. I told them that although it was not a normal situation, you definitely should have gotten the scones because you 'ordered' them first. We would only hope that the customer behind understands. We will definitely work on handling situations like this at our next employee meeting. Although we have procedures in place to prevent situations like the one today, they still arise and like you said, they should be handled properly. My issues with this place was not because I drove a long distance to come to this establishment or that there was a chance that there wouldn't be any scones. It was how these two employees handled the situation afterwards. Now I'm even more upset because the manager or whoever Tyler is, is trying to blame me for this situation happening.

Good bread, good scones and muffins, and quick sandwiches. This great harvest had great service and friendly staff. Parking can be tight, but the food is great!
(4)Trish P.
some of the best, friendly, and fast service i've ever had!! taken over by new management in about September or October of 2012, this Great Harvest is a smaller operation than some of the other ones, but what they lack in size, they make up for in RIDICULOUSLY AWESOME SERVICE and of course, tasty tasty breads and treats :D delicious breads like pizza, honey wheat, cheddar garlic, and more... i swear, if i didn't eat so much rice, i'd probably live off of just bread. their fruit bar is also delicious. it has various berries, mango, nuts, and a crumbly crust that is delicious.... kind of like apple crumble topping. they also have a bunch of soup mixes that i kind of want to try.... maybe next time b/c i'm def coming back to this one!
(5)Gemma R.
Chocolate chip pumpkin bread should be a staple in this store moving forward. I just ate it, I loved it and I want another loaf to myself. The loaf was so moist and had the right amount of chocolate and pumpkin flavoring. I'm drooling as I write this. I'm gonna go eat another slice right now.
(5)Anisha D.
So this place is just awesome in general. I went to the one in Alaska first and had no idea they had one on the island let alone like three? It's close to the kahala mall and has it's own little corner and parking. When you first walk in they offer you a generous size sample of a selection of breads. I had the pumpkin chocolate bar and it was DELICIOUS. Super moist and buttery. Then I bought a half loaf of cinnamon chip. Perfect bread. Doesn't need butter or anything. Awesome little place and they use honest ingredients like whole wheat and no additives. Definitely recommended!
(5)Kimi F.
We drove all the way from the Leeward Coast to get some ono-lish bread. Tried the sample of apple scrapple and was hooked. Not looking at the price, the young lady rang me up and said, "that will be $9.16." Wow, really? Are you charging me for the sample of bread you gave me prior to my purchase too? Dang, I try to be frugal, but when you drive over 25 miles to get here, there's no going back. There is no where on this good earth that I would fork over that kind of money for bread. Plus, waste my time and gas, yet when it comes to Great Harvest, I have a sickness, so just call me a "sucker." I really wish someone would open one up on the Leeward side, maybe next to Kiawe Grill? Decent parking and good visibility....Negotioate the lease, if I was the landlord, I'd rather have a place occupied than not.....No tenant, no income? Is there any takers out there??? If not, I'll just have to burn some gas and money to get some addictive carb loading bread, but with the cost of fuel, it's going to be a tad bit harder to do. Irregardless of the economy, I will always be a fan of Great harvest!
(5)Jonathan P.
So after living in Kahala for most of my life I just recently stumbled upon Great Harvest Bread Co. Since I was running late and had no idea what I wanted, I asked the cashier what she usually likes to eat. She recommended the mango cream cheese scone. I'm so glad I listed to her because it was amazing! My scone was HOT so it probably just came out of the oven. Getting a fresh hot scone just made my day! Parking sucks so I would just park in a stall you're not suppose to park in...run in and run out and drive off. If you're going to munch on something there, then I would recommend going early or parking at Kahala mall or somewhere in the neighborhood.

GREAT HARVEST IS MARVELOUS!!! Hallelujah for me finding an awesome scone bakery!! and near my work! I first tried this place when the owner would bring us free goodies at my work =) There scones are so moist, fresh and full of flavor! The blueberry cream cheese and cranberry cream cheese are my faves! those scone are huge so you can always share with someone or save it for later! They have the best pumpkin and cream cheese bars, it's so good and I don't even like pumpkin! He doesn't over charge on his products and there always friendly faces and his products are always fresh and hand made! So go and see my friend Justin who's the owner of this place!

It was a sorrowful day when Great Harvest Bread Co. closed in Waimalu. That was our favorite place to grab a pastry or their tasty sandwiches! Sad. Now whenever we are in the area of this place, we always get our fix of their amazing breads. Just like how I love the smell of rubber tires and gasoline, when I walk into Great Harvest Bread Co. its an orgasmic experience with the smell of baking bread. We love picking up their pastries (even though it feels like each pastry is probably the caloric and fat equivalent to a happy meal). I really like their cream cheese scones. The husband wanted to blueberry one and I got the cinnamon one. There's something about cream cheese. Perhaps it feels like you are biting into butter and butter is so awesome. Their sandwich breads rock so we bought a loaf. Anyway, their sandwiches are also so good and I am a firm believer that one of the main reasons sandwiches are good is their bread. I love their BLT. Crispy freakin' bacon and lots of it! We also love their Cali Cobb for that turkey, avocado, and bacon combo that I am so dearly obsessed with. They always offer samples and you can probably get filled up just sampling things there. The workers are friendly and are really quick. Only thing about this location is that the parking lot is a little tight and if crowded you'll probably be waiting a little while for a stall. So worth it as I am in love with their breads and pastries.

Yay! I'm a fan, again. It had been a long time since I had been at Great Harvest and I had forgotten how good the bread is. As soon as I walked in I was offered a sample by the friendly staff and I chose the peanut butter chocolate chip bread. I was sold. It has the perfect balance of the two flavors. I ended up purchasing a half loaf along with a couple strawberry cream cheese scones and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. The muffin was okay, but the scone was soo very good with large pieces of strawberry and chunks of cream cheese. Lovely. Since then I have been to the other two Great Harvest locations (downtown and Kailua) and I have found that the scones are the best at the Kahala location as one location does not have enough cream cheese and the other location does not have enough fruit. Finally, this location also has the best service. Friendly, helpful, and gracious.

Great Harvest Kahala is my go-to place for an afternoon snack after a long day at school! -Low Fat Muffins: Dense, moist, and just the right amount of sweetness. Also, I like that it's not overflowing with fruit because the muffin batter is my favorite part! -Assorted Cream Cheese Scones: They are super crumbly and sweet. -Whole Wheat Cinnamon Chip Bread: Dense and just like a cinnamon roll! It's my favorite bread from here. -Turkey and Cheese Sandwich (on Whole Wheat): Yesterday was the first day I tried this and it was yummy! They tell you every ingredient and seal it with a panini press. The bread and fresh ingredients make it worth every penny. All of these products are HUGE, so they are multiple snacks for me- which also makes them reasonably priced, each less than $5 (besides the bread). I personally like eating them cold :) Overall, Great Harvest Bread Co is a clean and friendly place that gives us options of good and good-for-you foods.

Wow! This place is simply awesome. I have never had a bad experience with any of their products. This is the first time I personally visited this store and their customer service is incredible. I walked out of there with 3 bags and $45 worth of bread. Although it was a tad on the pricey side $45 bought me 2 huge loaves of their super de duperty fabulous whole wheat cinnamon bread, a faboo loaf of their Assiago olive bread, a loaf of their yumm-o coconut quick bread AND two large sandwiches on their oh so divine squaw bread. Product? unbeatable. Simply the best bread I have ever had. The sandwiches were generous in portion and filling. I love food. I love eating. A half of the good ol turkey and roast beef sandwich filled me up. I brought the olive loaf to work. Eaten up in literally 3 hours. Customer Service? Genuine and with a smile. The girl who was working, I wish I had gotten her name, was a sweetie. She put up with my indecisiveness and did not roll her eyes, let out a sigh, or show the least bit of frustration with me at all. I think I was more frustrated with me than she was. She kept offering me bread which was a bonus. Price? It's a little high but you get what you pay for and I do not regret spending one dime there! Super duper yumm-o!

The sandwich I bought from here saved my life!!! It was New Year's Eve and my friends and I went on the Wiliwili Nui hike (OMG, I HATED IT). My friend mentioned it would take roughly three hours to complete so I definitely needed some food. I got their toasted turkey cobb sandwich without cheese or spread. While I was waiting, they gave me a sample slice of their cinnamon bread. It was delicious! During the hike, I didn't get a chance to sit down and enjoy my sandwich; my friends are moutaineers and I'm a city girl. Ready to pass out at the end, I reached in my bag and pulled out my lifesaver. I was worried my sandwich would be dry without cheese or spread but it was moist from the avocado. It was good but I'm sure it would've been much better fresh. Thanks Great Harvest Bread! Definitely wanna come back to check out their breads and scones.

I haven't been to the bakery yet, but the boss buys these and brings them to work and I just can't stop eating them. The Orange Creamsicle bread is super addicting, start eating it and all of a sudden it's all gone! The Chocolate bread is also awesome, not to sweet and not to bland, just perfectly moist. I wish I had some right now, but I just ate the last of it....

I love this bread! If you like homemade style bread you'll like this. They always give free samples. Try it and you'll keep going back.

I love the Three Cheese Garlic Bread. It's moist and so flavorful! Also tried their chocolate cream cheese scones. There's no chunks of cream cheese in there (appears blended in) but it tasted yummy!

I like the "3 Cheese Garlic" and "Cinnamon Chip" bread. The scones are also very tasty. It's soft and kinda chewy. They are open from 6:30am until 6:00pm from Monday through Saturday.

Great Harvest's blend of 'onoliciousness with a healthy twist is ALL that! As a fan of the bakery chain on the mainland, I was delighted to find GH stores in Hawai'i, too. They have 'm'm good bread, rolls (available by special order), cookies, scones, sandwiches, and more. My personal favorites are their raspberry scones and whole wheat cinnamon chip bread. This is one of the few places that lets you sample the goods prior to purchase, too, and they don't skimp on the serving size. You get a big hunk of bread that you can spread with fresh butter if you want. It's good for a snack all by itself! The prices here are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, I guess. The product is definitely fresh (baked daily), and delish. If you're a regular (or want to become one), be sure to get their rewards card...every 12 loaves or sandwiches, you get one free. The staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful, too. The Great Harvest Kahala location is on the mauka side of Kalaniana'ole Hwy, across from Kahala Mall. It's right next to Petland, in the same strip mall as Umeke Market. Hours are Mon-Sat 6:30am-6pm. Yelp 365 Challenge #079/365

craving their cinnamon chip loaf! tried it at a farmers' market. so good. this is the real hawaiian bread... none of those filler nasty ingredients. thank you!

Service is friendly. Breads are excellent. Like the Dakota with all the grains. Cinnamon chip bread is great with the cinnamon butter. Like that every time I walk in I am offered a sample of bread. The sandwiches are great. Makes me feel healthy.

YUM YUM YUM! I would definitely recommend eating here if you're in Kahala, and you're creating some bread! They make their bread daily. The sandwiches are deliiicious. The workers were very nice as well. They give you a punch card too! (:

Although I've only tried a few of their breads so far, all got the thumbs up. While the honey wheat is a solid choice for sandwiches, the cinnamon chip (c.c.) was outrageous for toast. Slather (please note I did not say spread; slather) a hot slice of c.c. with butter and you are starting your a.m. right! The apricot almond is also a good choice for breakfast but didn't quite match the quality of the c.c. I'll try to check out the scones soon to see how they measure up to Diamond Head Market. The c.c. and apricot almond both seem a bit pricey but the honey wheat seems more reasonable. The parking lot is a bit tucked away. If you are coming from town and pass Kahala Mall on your right, turn left on Kilauea St and than look for the long driveway right next to the Makana store. If you prefer your breads and treats fresh, here's a link for their current baking schedule. greatharvestkahala.com/b…

yum yum yum! I've only tried their muffins and cookies which both are delish and HUGE! wow, they can seriously be spread out into 5 small snack pieces to keep you energized and full throughout the day and the best part is it's healthier than eating candy or chocolate. I never actually been to their store, but we always receive these as gifts from other companies we do business with at work. My favorites are the blueberry or banana muffins and I love the chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies, so soft and chewy!

I fell in love with this place instantly. They carry a fresh selection of whole wheat breads that are baked fresh everyday. The bread is different depending on the day of the week, but they always have a sample ready. My favorite is the Low Carb Kauai Crunch. Great Harvest is a perfect place to grab a healthy lunch. Their sandwiches are delicious and all the ingredients are fresh. Try the California Club, it's moist and loaded with avacado and bacon. The price is a little much for a daily ritual but every chance I get I partake.

I work next to the great harvest in kahala. If you don't know about their sandwiches.. you are missing out! I'm not a big fan of the bread, but the cookies, scones, lemon bars, and pumpkin spice bars are to die for. At the kahala location, the sandwich bar is open until 4 I believe. My absolute favorite is the grilled cheese! Other good sandwiches to try would have to be the turkey bacon ranch, classic cold cut roast beef, and BLT!

Amazing bread and amazing combinations. The prices are a bit high and it's a bit out of the way (considering I love baking myself and find it enjoyable+easy) but if you are baking-illiterate or just lazy and want a treat then I'd recommend it. They do give free samples and I believe have a frequent buyer card or similar which could dampen it if you became a regular. Their hours can be weird so you may want to call ahead. Price keeps it to 3 stars in my book.

Their bread it amazing. I have a lot of dietary restrictions right now, so being able to purchase this loaf of preservative and oil free loaf of bread to supplement my diet was a god send! The women in the store were able to tell me every ingredient that went into the bread. They even advertise the times that their bread will be oven fresh! We got there just as the honey whole wheat was cooling and it had just gotten to the temperature it needed to be in order to be sliced in store. YUM! I miss their bread already! That being said, this review is just for the bread (cause I had a sandwich there too and the meat kinda sucks). However I loved the Honey Whole Wheat Bread so much that I'm willing to overlook the crappy sandwich (really, your turkey and veggies should be much fresher and higher quality - it puts your bread to shame and seriously, who puts lemon in their avocado?). But again - their bread ROCKS!

Excellent Breads and Sandwiches!!

Tuesdays=Mango Cream Cheese scones! That's the best part of the week! Soft, buttery, and chock full of chunks of cream cheese and mango. They also have Blueberry Cream Cheese scones which are out of this world!
(5)Lynne T.
I love the huge slices they give you as samples! It's like you don't even have to get the bread! (but i do anyways just cuz it's so yummy) My favorite breads are the 3 cheese garlic and cinnamon chip. The pizza bread is pretty good, but I'm not a fan of pepperoni/sausage/and meat types of things (except chicken), so I don't really like it, tons of my friends do, however. The white chocolate chip breads are also really yummy, but they're a little too sweet and after eating the entire loaf in less than a day...well it makes you sorta sick just thinking about it.
(4)Kristen C.
This place has the bomb bread! The Cranberry or Blueberry white chocolate bread is delish and so is the cinnamon chip. However, these breads are WAY too pricey. Its $9+ for these loaves alone so if they sold half loaves then i would give them another star. Their other baked good such as the blueberry cream cheese scones, pumpkin bars, and even cookies are really good. I also like that they give free samples of sliced bread so thats nice =) and another gripe is that the parking lot sucks! its so tight just to get out, especially when the big delivery trucks are there since its only one way in and one way out that some people may have to wait to get out.
(4)Maria G.
Parking sucks, but awesome bread & other treats. Try the pumpkin spice bars, cream cheese scones & the cinnamon chip bread! (makes great french toast....). Awesome service, always very helpful people behind the counter. They serve sandwiches now, as well, made with their fresh baked bread.

Delicious scones & their breads are fabulous. Way too addicting.

Great selection of moist, fresh, dense, fragrant, and hearty breads. A must-try is the Dakota bread. Love that they always generously let you sample thick slices of their breads, along with their great-tasting butter and jams.
