This place is located inside the Ching Young Village shopping complex. I thought it was a French bistro when I saw the name. It turns out to be a bit of everything. When I asked the serving staff why does this place has a French name, no one seems to have a clue.... It is a bar, and it serves American fare as well as having a sushi counter at the back of the place. It has large window opened where you can sit next to and watch life goes by outside. The food is so so, nothing really special. It is not bad but it is not remarkable. We had sushi and burger. The burger was described as Kobe burger - well like I told the waitress, if it is a Kobe burger it will be at least 50 bucks more than what it is charged, may be it is Kobe descendants who lives in Kauai that was slaughtered for this burger. If it is an ordinary burger, then it is pricey, it is $17 before tax. Bearing in mind that even Bobby Frey's burger in DC is less than $8 or $9. Yep! Everyone say everything has to be imported in Hawaii. However, there are cowboy in Hawaii and cattle ranch in Kuaui! The sushi is ok too. When you are on holiday, you are in a trial and error mode really sometimes. It was quiet when we want in at about 7 pm. May be the bar scene is better later at night.

Over the top ! Very unexpected for little Hanalei , beautiful 2nd story location and view of Bali Hai . Estrella was a delight , brought us everything we asked for and more . Quite simply the best seafood pasta I have had , probably the top #3 worldwide . New England Clam Chowder probably 150 clams inside the soup so well seasoned simply awesome , the Ahi Poke was over the top served on a bed of Ogo . I would recommend this place to anyone not wanting to spend a fortune and like good service . I want to go back already. , service was par for excellent !!! One word... TERRIBLE Ribs and fish : ribs were smothered with plain ketchup and sugar and fish was overcooked and soggy and no flavor. Gave me heartburn (first time in my life) seafood brochette : tasted like it was frozen and very overcooked. Overall extremely disappointing and overpriced for $60!!!!! A tourist trap

Nice bistro-gastropub! Amazing view over the town and surrounding mountains. Good selection of food at reasonable prices for the islands, great service from our waitress. Ribs were the standout item for our party as we ordered them in several combinations (ribs and ribs, ribs and chicken, ribs and fish). I had the mahi mahi fish tacos which were very dense and flavorful. The only lackluster bit was the crab cakes which seemed to be more breadcrumb cake than crab, and they were taken off with no argument and a hearty apology when we complained. Overall, would definitely go here again!
