I really want to give this a 4.5. My first time there and really enjoyed the spanakopita and the seafood stew. The portion was small on the seafood stew but the flavor was excellent. Got a piece of baklava to go and O.M.G. THAT was delicious! So glad I didn't pass it up because I was too full from dinner. Their house made bread is excellent as well. Will go back to try the lamb shank when I return to Savannah, hopefully next month.

I must have drove past this restaurant a 100 times, thinking it was just a little hole in the wall, nothing special. But last night my husband and I finally decided to give this place a try. As soon as I walked in, we were instantly greeted and seated at a table with no wait. I was impressed with the restaurants appearance. It's a hidden little Gem right off Abercorn street. My Husband ordered the Lamb Shank, he said it was one of the best he's ever had. The meat just melted right off the bone. I had the Chicken- Mushroom Penne Pasta. It was so good! I liked our waiter, he was very informative about the menu and Specials and constantly checking on us. Besides the Food being awesome, the service here was exceptional! The ambience here makes it a perfect spot for a little date night with your other half.
I've been meaning to go here for some time. So today I did and really enjoyed it. My friend got the gyro platter and I got the gyro. Super fresh vegetables and great mouth watering meat. Peta was fluffy and hot out of the oven! Definitely a great Greek joint, if you're mid town and in the mood. Great service too!

Yes!!!! This place was amazing. Such a random location. Thankfully, a friend told me about this because I never would have trusted it otherwise. You must get the hummus! The stuffed grape leaves were just ok. They were cold, and I've typically have had them warm. So that was a bit odd to me. Even with that, this place was so good. We will definitely be coming back.

Troy was good. Their falafel and baba ganoush was the best I have ever had. It's a fun place to eat with a great atmosphere.

The baklava is to die for. Their hummus and babganoush is superb. Gyros you gotta try and their Z-sauce is great. Try the sampler plate. A little pricey place but it's great for romantic nights or family nights You definitely get what you pay for.

A hole in the wall type of place. I love Mediterranean food and eat it frequently. I decided to venture out into my new home town. I went in with decent expectations and man was I surprised, they surpassed any expectation that I could've ever had. I had grape leaves for an appetizer which were good. What really hit the spot was the falafel sandwich it was by far the BEST falafel I've ever had!!!!!! It was true love at first bite and will defiantly be going back for more. .

A neighbor said we had to try Troy, and I'm so glad we did. Everything we had was fresh and delicious. The falafel was well-seasoned, light and fluffy. I finally understand why people like falafel! The baba ganouj was silky, its flavors bright. The meats were moist and tasty - best gyro meat I've ever had, and the chicken and lamb kebabs were especially delicious. We shared the mixed meze appetizer and the mixed kebab dinner and a tiramisu and left stuffed. Our waiter was friendly and brought extra sauces for us to try. We will be back regularly since it's not far from the house or from Armstrong.

My wife and I are frequent diners at Troy. The wait staff is always attentive and the food consistently outstanding. They have the best calamari in Savannah and we are huge fans of the hummus. One of our favorites in Savannah.
Amazing little hidden spot. Unless you have been brought there you wouldn't know form the outside how excellent this place is. Start with the chicken soup it's literally the very best soup I have ever had. Next I had the lamb shank and it was amazing. Service was beyond excellent. Over all it was priced well to low for the quality of this experience.

Last night I was in savannah and came across Troy Mediterranean. I hadn't eaten a lot of Mediterranean food and thought I'd give this place a try. From the outside it doesn't seem like much and it's easily missed or overlooked. If it weren't for yelp I would have never thought to check it out. - The service is very attentive, fast and polite. - I had an appetizer, salad, main course and dessert and every dish was amazing. - The decor could have been slightly better but the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Over all I would definitely recommend to a friend and plan on coming back.

Terrible experience ever with a restaurant. We called first, was told the restaurant was completely full and cannot guarantee seats without a reservation. But when we get there 10 min after the call, there were plenty of empty seats. We were then seated, told the waitress would be coming to help us shortly. After 30 minutes, still nobody came to ask if we need anything, not even offer us water....We decided to leave after wasting 30 minutes waiting. BTW: when we are leaving, the couple who came 20 minutes after us were offered water....

This place is great if you're looking for a change of pace . When you've had your fill of the usual then Troy is a place you must visit to get away from the usual food you're accustomed to. The place is delightful for a romantic date, a business meeting , or in my case a dinner with the wife & child . The food was great & the service was fanatic. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is the calamari appetizer wasn't so good ( I'm a calamari connoisseur ) but hi if everything they served was as good as their main courses they'd but every other restaurant out of business!!

Delicious! Found this place through Yelp while looking for an early-ish dinner, and we wanted to go somewhere new to us. We decided on Troy Mediterranean, and I am glad we did! It is much larger than I expected from the outside of the restaurant. We were warmly greeted and were seated immediately. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of menu items. I lived in southern Italy for a number of years, so I am picky about Mediterranean food. I had the Chicken Keftedes special and my husband had a mixed platter special. Everything was excellent, and service was fast and friendly. We split the tiramisu for dessert, it was heavenly! We'll be back for sure.
Portions are getting smaller (especially for take out) and prices are staying high...come on Troy, don't slip! Quality hasn't been as consistent either.

Pasticio was on special when I was visiting Savannah on a job interview! I am sold! I love pasticio and it can be very hard to find. (I am visiting from Lubbock). As soon as I had my first bite I was happy with the spices taking me back. What is it, cinnamon? Cumin? I don't know because I haven't ever attempted making my own, but I was very happy to have my slice! It was served with a salad that was all right, but could have done without the dressing (ranch-y). The salad had tomatoes and feta over romaine, which was all it really needed. The dressing wasn't the traditional Greek oil-and-herb base so it may not bee what you are expecting. I also got to try the falafel, and I have never had falafel so light! I tried to make it myself a few weeks ago and it was heavy and a disaster. But here, it was very lightly fried and excellent. Makes a great appetizer. I wanted to try the spanikopita as well but I had to hold back. But if I was here with friends I knew well, I would definitely try it!

The food has been better before, the hummas was quite bland today.. Im certainly not pleased at the fact that they do not have a changing table in the bathroom! I had to change my babys diaper in the car, in the RAIN. Thanx

Omg amaaaazing! Food is delicious! Trust the reviews this place is a little hole in the wall. With a better location it'd probably be impossible to get a table.

We ate there last night. While the food was excellent, the service was terrible. We had to wait over a half hour to get our entrees after finishing our salads. Our table was not cleared at all during this time despite seeing staff walking around. Our waitress was so slow bringing me a glass of wine that I was just about finished with my meal by the time she brought it. She was nice, but not sure what the problem is there. It cost them a star and the tip was 15% rather than our usual 20%.

Love love love this place. My brother had wanted Mediterranean one evening and we actually came on a Monday and left disappointed (They are closed on Mondays). But we have never left disappointed again! This is one of my husband and my go to dining places to bring family and friends. The food is delicious, fills the tummy and the sweet tea is sweet tea. Best hummus around according to my hubby and 5 year old niece. :) I am always recommending this restaurant to everyone and it will always be a place we hit when we come back to the area.

Christo remembered us even though it had been a long time since we had been here. (Another member of the wait staff did too). Friendly staff, delicious food, and even though busy, we did not wait a long time. Caprese salad was fresh and delicious. Kabob cooked to order, shepherd's salad crisp and light. Good wine list. Love this place.

Delicious Mediterranean food! The hummus is, in my opinion, the best that can be found in Savannah. Everything else I've had there is terrific, as well, and the price points are reasonable. Highly recommended!

The food isn't bad, per se, but I would not call it Mediterranean really: more like some Greek meze--and very common ones at that--and some Italian pastas plus lamb and seafood here and there. The mixed-seafood stew is good, yes, and the quality overall is ok, but the pastas remind me of what a decent hotel restaurant would serve and you could just as easily call the cuisine "European" or even "American" and then say the chef is Greek so he threw some meze in: some of the meze at that are more typical to Levantine cuisines than Greek, so it's hard to tell what the focus is here. If they want to include Levantine and Turkish dishes, they could, sure, but the menu seems all over the place yet the main dishes are very tried and true and not even Mediterranean for the most part. Quality and service? Ok. But not what I expected. Like most places on southside, it seems everything was toned down and Americanized tenfold as not to scare people who'd just moved to Savannah from Kansas or somewhere. I'd like to see more diversity and authenticity here.

Quite possibly the best Mediterranean in Savannah, and easily the best on the Southside. From the outside of the place, you wouldn't expect much; in fact, I'd driven past it several times before even noticing it. But the inside is very tastefully done, and the food is primo. I'm somewhat of a Medterranean food snob. Not on purpose, I swear. But once you've had hummus in Beirut, it's hard to rave about anything else. Fortunately, Troy delivers. The beef tenderloin kebab will change your life, if you like that sort of thing. Unfortunately they tend to run out of it, so I try not to get my hopes up. I've been there with groups a couple of times, and no one has ever been disappointed. Small but good wine list. Docked one star because it seems to me to be a little pricey for what it is. But what isn't these days?

(Basically) Yum! First off, pleasant looking restaurant in a south side strip center. Warmly greeted when we entered, and greeted again by our excellent waiter Jeff. They were out of the beer we ordered, so we ordered wine instead. My partner had the homemade cannelloni, stuffed with cheese and mushrooms over a bed of wilted spinach. To my palette, it had a bit too much cheese without enough savory flavors, but that would be a blasphemous complaint to others. I had the Chilean sea bass special. It was oven grilled with what looked like a coating of Japanese bread crumbs to give it crunch. Absolutely beautifully cooked. The red wine aoili on top was way too strong a flavor for such a delicate fish, luckily most was artfully presented on the side. My dish came with the same wilted spinach (which was yummy) as well as a potato gratin, which was good as well. My only complaint was the price versus location. $40 for two entrees (no apps) on the south side just seemed a little high, especially since both needed a little tweaking. If the cannelloni had been twelve and the fish eighteen, I would think it was great deal. Apparently Monday night is half price wine, and Tuesday is half price entree with another purchase, so there you go! In short, I would likely go again.

This place was good, but not outstanding last time I ate here a year or so ago. They have improved tremendously. We had take out, which we had never tried (always ate in before). We had Spanakopita, Baba Ganoush and Shrimp for appetizers, all was really good. For entrees we had the lamb shank, which was awesome.

Bottom line is this is the best Mediterranean food you can get in Savannah. Getting gyros to go for lunch is always a great option if you are looking for something simple. The restaurant seems a little on the expensive side but quality has a price!

Today we went to this place for the 2nd time because we absolutely loved our first visit and our waiter Esteban was GREAT! However after today's visit we will NEVER go back to this place again, EVER! Our waitress today was BEYOND RUDE!!! We sat down and she came to us with " what do you want to drink!?" No hello how are you, nothing. The whole time dealing with her was horrible. She brings our food, my husband's drink was empty and she just leaves our food and walks off. I had to get up to go get her and ask her to get my husband some water. So she brings warm water and NO ice. I had to get back up and ask her for ice. I couldn't sit down and enjoy my meal because I had to keep looking for her for service. She had a nasty attitude from the get go. We left her ZERO tip. When we are leaving I spoke to the owner and he admitted she was rude and he witnessed it. He said his wife runs the place and he will let her know. No offer of a discount or anything. We will never come back to this place again. Too bad you allow such rude employees at your establishment that is running your patrons off. I have a feeling this was all about race. My husband is black and I am white. The waitress was a black female. She wasn't rude to any other patrons, just us. She had a funky attitude as soon as we stepped foot in the door. Get over it!

Pros: -friendly and courteous service (greeted warmly at the door and seated fairly quickly) -great decor (minus the hanging Christmas lights on the walls but the longer I sit here the better it looks) -food was on point!! Fresh and flavorful (orders bubba ganoush, shepherds salad, feta chicken pasta, vegetarian canelloni and tiramisu.) -attentive server (server's name is Hristo.. Gold standard of servers! All servers should strive to be like Hristo!) -clean bathrooms Cons... None!

great service, fresh and delicious food! Try the meze platter, order the gyro sandwich platter off menu, and if you love coffee try the Turkish coffee: it comes with the grounds in it but let it sit for 30 seconds and you're good-- best coffee ever. You'll swear off espresso. Great attention to detail, fresh greens, good prices and quality service... there's nothing negative to say.

I have been eating at Troy since I moved to Savannah in 2006. Troy is still, hands-down, the most outstanding Mediterranean restaurant in the city, as well as my favorite overall restaurant for the past six or so years. I'm picky about Mediterranean food, having a Greek mother, and finding a great place like this really screws up the grading curve for everyone else. I remember the first meal I had was the shrimp and scallop fettuccine, which has since been renamed. It. Was. Mindblowing. It was as if somebody had lovingly assaulted my tastebuds with a brick of decliciosity (coining it now) wrapped up in a blanket of incredible. Don't even get me started on the steaks. Ruth's Chris ought to simply quit. Cattlemen's in Oklahoma City doesn't compare, and that's saying a lot to anyone who knows anything about steak. Let me tell you something about these appetizers. Dolmades are something that are easy to make, but easy to screw up. They don't screw them up. As a matter-of-fact, if you eat these dolmades, you'll be wondering why you haven't stopped in to eat there before. And the hummus? I learned how to make a great hummus years ago, but I can't do it as well as these guys. I could easily rant and rave about this place and every single item on their menu. I am pretty sure that I've had everything on it at least once, and it never gets old. Jop is an incredible chef, and consistent in a way that you do not often see in restaurants in Savannah. Olivia and Esteban are wonderful servers, and will make you feel at home. Stop in and have a dinner. You will not regret it.

I can't say enough good things about Troy! My parents are Greek and so when they came into town I made sure to take them there and we could not have been more pleased. The three of us split a Mix Meze (sampler with baba ghanoush, hummus, falafel, dolmades, tabouli & pita), a Greek salad and one order of Spinach Pie (Spanakopita). It was more food than we could finish and we all agreed it was some of the best Greek food we've ever had. I also called earlier in the week to request a special dessert that they no longer have on their menu (Galaktobureko) and they told me they would be glad to make it for us! It was excellent! All this combined with an exceptional, helpful wait staff made for a truly wonderful evening filled with authentic Mediterranean cuisine. We were all highly impressed! Hands down the best Mediterranean food in Savannah. 5 stars.

I was in Savannah on business for a week and Troy was so good my co-worker and I ate there twice. The hummus is homemade, and it was the best I ever had. Spanikopita is mouth-watering, without being too heavy. Falafel is wonderful. I love the food here.

Really 2 1/2 stars, but this not an option. Nothing wrong here, but nothing worth writing home about. Very suburban, watered-down Mediterranean food, more Italian than Greek. Not bad, but not authentic or super-good. For the price it should be authentic and super-good.

The restaurant was clean and classy, the service was excellent, and the food was fantastic! It was a much nicer establishment than what I had expected, and I was pleasantly surprised. The best place we've been to eat in a long time, and we will definitely be coming back again!

Palate Pleaser!! We found this place by accident and will definitely be back. We had a warm welcome and great service. The Mixed Meze was fresh and tasty; we couldn't pick a favorite on the sampler. The fried calamari was delicious and tender. My personal favorite was the mussel appetizer, big enough for a meal. I couldn't resist dipping the bread in the perfectly seasoned broth. The hummus and baba ganoush were silky smooth. The tiramisu dessert was a winner as well. I can't wait to visit again. We are definite food snobs and this is number one on our Mediterranean list.

We just enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner! Salads so fresh and lamb so tender! Moussaka to die for and impeccable service! They do need some background Med. music and the tirimisu was not very tasty-too dry....but, overall the perfect evening.

I stopped in on my first full day living in Savannah and was looking for homemade hummus. I ordered the baba ganoush instead and it was delish!! Almost as good as PIs in Beverly Hills (my gold standard for baba ganoush.) I had a couple glasses of wine and the marinated chicken salad. The service was great, came by my table just enough to be attentive but not overbearing. The food was served in a timely manner. There is no bar to sit at, but the booths were comfortable and private. Decor was pretty routine. Will def be heading to this place often!

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

I ordered take out from Troy over the weekend. It was my first experience with the restaurant and perhaps my hopes were too high. My boyfriend and I both ordered the lamb shish kebab and spilt an ores of mixed meza. The appetizer was good, the stuffed grape leave and falafel were very good. The lamb however was somewhat disappointing. It was tough. I wouldn't complain except that the bill was $50. I would like to go back and try a different entrée.

It has been a while since I have actually done a full review and I DO apologize. However I made sure that I took the time out of my work day to provide you all with a decent review. I have driven by this place for year and never stopped in, which was probably attributed to me never seeing cars in the parking lot. Come to find out they have their major rushes and then in between. I am sorry that I did not visit this place sooner and am currently still slapping myself for not doing so. This place is a hidden gem in this city. I can tell you that in one visit that I will most definitely be coming back over and over again. Alright enough with all of the jabber let's get down to business. The Review: 1. The Décor is nice.. The lights, the colors, the draped fabrics, the music, all of it set the mood for this place. It is not super fancy and it feels as though you might just be in a small coast side restaurant on the coast of Greece without the beautiful Greek coast to gaze at . 2. The Food: For the appetizers I ordered the Calamari ( I mean who doesn't want try to the calamari (Unless you have an allergy or something) and the hummus. Both came out fairly quick and I can tell you that I pretty much inhaled them both. The hummus is amazing and comes with a very generous portion of it too. The friend calamari served with a homemade tzatziki was excellent. It was not over fried and was not dripping in grease. And the tzatziki was pretty good, just not used to being as thin as it was nonetheless it was amazing. Entrees ordered were the Lamb Shank Dinner and the Crab Cake dinner. Personally I always order some sort of lamb shank or lamb meal at EVERY Mediterranean restaurant I visit. This is one thing that must be consistently perfect amongst them all!! NO IFS AND S OR BUTS! That and the gyro platters! Anyways the Lamb Shank is a very decent size, big enough to feed two people, is served over a bed of homemade mashed potatoes, yes you can tell, and with a side of season vegetables, which in my case was the zucchini & squash combo. No need to even get all in depth with this because I am just going to say that the Lamb was amazing, it fell right off the bone and melted in my mouth. The homemade mashed potatoes paired well with this surprisingly because of their places I have had lamb places it on polenta. The Crab cakes are some of the best crab cakes that I have ever tried. More crab than bread is how it should be everywhere but we all know that is not the case. I didn't eat to much of the crab cakes because I was to bust stuffing my face with my lamb however I would order them if in the mood to do so. Do yourself a favor and check this place out if in the area or heck even if you are not in the area and you want to kill some time. Unfortunately I was too full to try the baklava and will have to add that on at a later time. Heck I was still full the next morning when I got up lol.

This is my go to for greek deliciousness. Always great service and fantastic atmosphere for family gathering or date night. Always consistent with awesome service and authentic eats.

dinner was amazing! i had the kabobs, calamari, caprese salad and artisan salad too. all were all excellent. this spot seems very hospitable and quality focused. the server was on point as well. we were there this past saturday and was the perfect choice. living out on the southside can have its limitations when it comes to dining and im happy to know its so close to home. looking forward to coming back

We went for dinner on a Monday evening. The service was great, though there were few other customers in the restaurant. We had the spanakopita appetizer and it was hot and delicious. For our entrées, I ordered pastisio and Lora ordered Keftedes. The pastisio was not properly warmed. The Greek salad that came with it was very good. The Keftedes were fresh, hot, and scrumptious. The Keftedes were so good as to demand a four star rating, despite the uninspiring pastisio. We will definitely return when in Savannah again.

My entry to this restaurant was the gyro and side salad. Everything was fresh and the salad had a great lemon dressing. I plan to return.

I'm new to the area and have been looking for a restaurant that lives up to the reviews. This place definitely does! from the appetizers to the main entrées everything was delicious! Even the baba ghanoush! The hummus was sublime and the tabouli fresh and tart. My spouse had the chicken marsala which was flavorful plenty of veggies with good size portions of tender chicken. My daughter had the shrimp scampi which was decadent and flavorful. I had the chicken kebabs which were grilled to perfection in a lovely tandoori type seasoning. Delicious! We will definitely be back!

Portions are getting smaller (especially for take out) and prices are staying high...come on Troy, don't slip! Quality hasn't been as consistent either.
(4)Chris S.
The food was tasty enough. However, a little on the expensive side.

We found Troy's by accident, and we are so glad we did. They were very accommodating with my son's multiple food allergies, and the food and service were great. We will definitely come again!

Great date night restaurant. Simple not over the top menus and great friendly staff. Very easy to pass this place up but please don't. Like I said a great date night spot.

(5)Virginia R.

This place has Amazing food! Can't wait to go back. Got to tell all my friends and family members about it. And anyone looking for a great place to eat.

(5)Mike W.

Good food but have a gotten my order wrong twice now. Once was on a to go order so I was back at work before I realized it....:-/

always tasty. homemade hummus is great
(5)Sam P.

(4)Brian P.

None!
(5)Eric H.
great service, fresh and delicious food!

5 stars.
(5)C J.
Great service, tasty food. Started with Mixed meze. Great opener. House bread was warm and soft with garlicy butter. Veggie cannelloni and seafood stew were both exceptional. Definitely recommend.

Had another wonderful meal at Troy tonight. The food is consistently good and the service is always excellent.
(4)Alicia Y.
This place has delicious food, great wait staff, and reasonable prices, bottles of wine are half price on Tuesdays. This has been designated as our new date night restaurant!!!
(5)Terry H.
I was in Savannah on business for a week and Troy was so good my co-worker and I ate there twice. The hummus is homemade, and it was the best I ever had. Spanikopita is mouth-watering, without being too heavy. Falafel is wonderful. I love the food here.
(5)N M.
Really 2 1/2 stars, but this not an option. Nothing wrong here, but nothing worth writing home about. Very suburban, watered-down Mediterranean food, more Italian than Greek. Not bad, but not authentic or super-good. For the price it should be authentic and super-good.
(3)Jenny W.
The restaurant was clean and classy, the service was excellent, and the food was fantastic! It was a much nicer establishment than what I had expected, and I was pleasantly surprised. The best place we've been to eat in a long time, and we will definitely be coming back again!
(5)Deb F.
(5)Cecilia H.
We just enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner! Salads so fresh and lamb so tender! Moussaka to die for and impeccable service! They do need some background Med. music and the tirimisu was not very tasty-too dry....but, overall the perfect evening.
(4)Sara P.
