This Chipotle is the worst one I've been too. I went in and ordered a steak burrito. They ran out of steak right when i was ordering. And what do they do? They take steak off of the grill that was not done cooking. The steak came off the grill medium rare. Blood was running from the steak and the center was still very cold. Talked to a worker about and she said "oh that's how it's cooked here at Chipotle" not knowing that I've ate Chipotle many times before at a different location and the steak is ALWAYS cooked medium well to well done. You can serve medium rare at some places of course usually at a special request since there is a small percentage of people who prefer to eat bloody steak. But you absolutely can not serve steak that is medium rare and STILL COLD. That is how people get sick from food born illnesses. After the fact of getting back to the table went back up and told them I would like it remade. When remade they made it HALF as much as the one before to be spiteful just because there were in the wrong serving bloody cold steak. The two workers up front. One with disgusting red dreads and another girl who gave me a name of J were very rude about it and have piss poor customer service like the remake was going to come out of there check which I'm sure it wasn't. I will not be returning to this location ever again and frankly this situation has almost messed up me liking Chipotle all together. I hope the worker, a manager, or owner of this location reads this and do something about. Very unacceptable!

Food is of course awesome. The bathroom however is not. It's a single stall in a crowded restaurant with no baby changing table.

Very disappointed in my experience. I asked for carnitas salad. When they got to the extras, I said no cheese (dairy allergy) and they loaded it with cheese. Of course, they made me a new one, but there was barely any carnitas left... In fact, they were telling other customers behind me to wait for more. They gave me two small chunks of meat and seemed really confused when I complained and asked for more.

Husband and I came here during the dinner hour on Sunday and line was out the door. We had a 20 min wait which was fine. However the cashier would just be standing there in between customers paying with her elbow resting on the cashier and her chin resting in her hand doing nothing. They also had papers posted that they were out of bowls and salads which was a bummer till I got to the front and they were letting people have bowls in these foil lids. My husband and I were happy about. We got our bowls and enjoyed :-)

Yum! This place always has a line extending to the front door. The food is great but messy! Cafeteria style setting but great tasting food and you can customize ANY order.

I hate mexican food, loathe it, because of the beans mashed into almost everything, but when I came to this place with a friend he recommended me. The food is HUGE especially the burritos, the size of my 16 inch lap top. I order the chopped steak with rice in a bowl..... It was sinfully so good, the steak was probably one of the 2nd best steak i had, it wasn't Fully cooked, little bit pink on the inside season to perfection... I give this place 5 stars because of the steak itself speaks volume. normally, I DO not give 5 stars.

I was in here mid afternoon opening day, and as a seasoned Chipotle vet I was really happy with the service. Obviously the place had some first day kinks to iron out, but my friend and I had placed an App order and it hadn't printed out properly, thus wasn't ready when we stopped in, but the managerial team made a mad dash to get it together as quickly as possible for us, and threw in some free extras. It's a little small in terms of all the Chipotles I've been to, but once the crowds calm down, I think it'll be a perfect size location. Any kinks in the system, I have full confidence that the great managers will iron them out, and I can't wait to stop in again and see how things are going. Welcome to Sav, Chipotle! Hope you make crazy $$$!

Nothing to complain about food wise. It's hard to find a place to sit with kids because a lot of the seating is high top tables. It's not a great dining experience but when you want Chipotle you get Chipotle.

You can't ever go wrong with Chipotle. The service was fast, plenty of seating, and bathrooms were clean. The location is very convenient to the Tanger Outlets

I'm not usually one to get excited about a Chipotle, but there is FINALLY one in Savannah. I know my Yelp friends will probably scream at me for eating here when there are so many great dining experiences in Savannah, but sometimes you just need a quick, cheap, non-greasy lunch and Chipotle is great for that. This one definitely has the strangest layout I've seen in a Chipotle. There are several large, rectangular tables and a bent "T" shaped table with stools bolted to the ground around it. It didn't matter to me because I was just grabbing lunch to go. Even though there was a line I got out pretty quickly. The food quality was consistent with what I'm used to getting from Chipotle. I for one am glad that they're here.

This gets 2 stars just because I'm having a good day after a long night. I don't know where to begin... I guess first things first - only having flour tortillas and no whole wheat sucks, the brown rice sucks, pinto and black beans have no flavour, their version of tofu is frighteningly shredded, the salsa verde is acidic, there's precut romaine, the guacamole costs 1.95, the ambience is modern industrial despite being "Mexican", the chips cost extra and are sitting pre-bagged on a shelf, yeah - this place sucks. they say "gourmet without attitude"... it's not gourmet at all and how does a burrito joint not have attitude? both burritos we ordered didn't even stay wrapped... and that takes us down to 1 star now that I've washed my hands. no real anything here... I feel disgusted just being inside here and even worse that I have been hard on barberito's lately - I'll never be back.

    (1)
  • James W.

Really? Ran out of rice and started it would be a short while and then thirty minutes later, finally rice. And worse, just give out chips as a thank you for waiting? I don't eat chips and that's not a thirty-forty minute reward. I don't normally like Mexican food.... I hate to smell like a taco. The wait here was long but the staff were very friendly for non stop work. They were very kind and even let me sample the meat options. The burrito bowl was great. I have gluten allergies so I appreciate their efforts to have gluten free options. The guacamole is made fresh, not out of can or bag and is worthy the extra charge of $1.95. Ask for lime wedges at counter. Great suggestion Steve V!

  • Scott G.

Let me start off by saying I love Chipotle and their entire chain. However, this location was not on the top of my list after I visited here. The food was good as always, but some of the staff aren't friendly. And when I asked for a mix of hot and sour cream, the first time I got 85% sour cream and 15% hot. I literally had to have the person remake it and then it still wasn't right, but it was closer, so I just went with it. Besides that, it's a good location. They always have a line. I don't think this is because of their slowness. I think it's simply because, until the one in Pooler opens here shortly, they are the only one in Savannah. Definitely a place to visit if you've never been to one, but just try and ignore the less than friendly folks. The rest of them are quite nice and the food is tasty!

  • Ashleigh H.

Ok, I went back to Chipotle the other day to see if they could redeem themselves in my eyes from my first experience there in Savannah. What I have found is that the quality was not as bad but it was still not up the quality of Chipotle that I would expect from my past experiences in other cities. I am still on the fence on whether or not I will continue to give them chances.

    (3)
  • J C.

Went late to avoid the rush but still waited in line 20-30 minutes when only had about 10 people in front of us. I've probably eaten at 50 locations around the country and have never seen a more disorganized (and uninterested) crew. A very different experience from what I am used to. Probably the dirtiest location I have experienced as well. Food is good, so will continue to eat at Chipotle, but not at the one in my home city. Plenty of demand, so hopefully will get additional locations.

    (2)
  • Elissa L.

I love chipotle. This location is not the best, but they are still fairly new, also. I think they deserve some slack. Food is awesome and you get to pick everything you want and don't want.

  • Ramon R.

It's Chipotle. What more could you ask for? Second stop at this location since it opened, they ran out of forks. No big deal. There was what seemed to be a manager roaming the halls to check on people. I just stood in line for an hour for this burrito, dude. Do not expect me to engage in conversation with you. Aside from that, I am looking forward to their liquor license to be approved. I'm intrigued by the margarita they are advertising.

  • Emily W.

I have been here twice. The first time was about a month after they opened. The food was up to the typical Chipotle standards, but the place was so loud you couldn't hear anything the employees were saying. The cashier seemed annoyed to help us pay for our food. We decided to give it another chance but it was worse the second time around. There was no cashier and the line piled up, while none of the other employees even acknowledged the problem. Everyone seemed miserable. Once the cashier finally showed up she was chatting with a male employee and started to ring us up. I wanted to order a side of chips but because she was chatting away she didn't hear me. I had to wait for a break in her conversation to make sure she understood me. My husband ordered a drink but apparently she didn't hear that. Once she rang us up he asked for a cup and she snapped back that he hadn't ordered one. We won't be coming back to this Chipotle again - we're heading over to Barbaritos.

Went here today on a much Warranted lunch (no pun intended). We've been waiting for this Chipotle to open for half a year. Today was the glorious day. It was packed but we waited diligently. We were rewarded with Savannah's best burritos! The Guac was soooo fresh. The store manager came up to us (group of about 14) and asked us how we were doing, despite his restaurant being packed. Aside from the Spite being flat, I have only great things to say. Suggestions... cut lime wedges at the self serve station? Well all I can say is, I'll be back... and again and again and again!

    (5)
  • Jeremy J.

The employees that roll the burritos need more training/practice. They split the burrito while rolling at least half of the times I've been here. And they don't seem to care at all about it. Some employees are very nice, but other reviewers have similar complaints about the staff.

This chipotle seems off from the other ones I've been to, in California (where I'm from). Chipotle is usually the only time I eat at a chain, because it's consistently good. Unfortunately, this one hasn't quite mastered the customer service aspect of the chain's reputation. For the food, the chips weren't fresh; I'm talking like at least 14 - 24 hours old. But they defffffinitely pile on the toppings.

    (3)
  • Mike B.

They lowered the level of the music, drastically improving the environment. I would however like to see at least three people on the line instead of five standing slack jaw.

It's a chain, but chains can vary location to location! This one seems to run out of things and are slow to replace! Grabbed a later (2ish) lunch and they were out of lettuce! And some items looked rushed, the grilled veggies hardly looked cooked. In general, chipotle is good so the good here is up to par! Service could be a little more friendly but then tend to rush you through line or no line!

After trying Chipotle elsewhere, I had hoped we would one day get one in Savannah, so I had try it out pretty quickly! It is still pretty busy because of the newness (the line was to the door at 11:45am), but they were pretty efficient at moving people through. I had a chicken burrito and it was quite yummy (and a generous amount of food). I like how they try to source meats that are antibiotic and hormone free. The indoor seating area was interesting and visual appealing. About half of the seating area is comprised of long bars with high stools, so that section is communal sort of like a German beer hall. Edit: they do apparently have high chairs, they just must have them out of sight someplace. The large amount of high/bar seating would still be off limits for anyone with a small child, however. They are evidently going to serve alcohol and even have a (pricey) margarita on the menu, but their license wasn't approved as of yet.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
