Party last night wiped out all the good beers, so Bob had to have a Miller Legend, which he found an okay beer of about 6.9% alcohol and lightly hopped, but tending toward a red, more like a blush to a pilsner. My chicken strip and fries were the usual, Bob was Mr. Healthy with a salad topped with Blue Cheese vinaigrette and a few extra shrimp added. Nice bowl of vegetable soup complimented it. Chocolate cake dessert was an Oh, my God! Experience, suitable for four or six people, but with very moist cake and a milk chocolate cold icing. The restaurant was wide open and light, with a mellow jazz playing in the background and a laid back style. Staff was pleasant and chatty and friendly. Bathrooms were across a hall in back and okay.

The only negative thing I can say about this place is that their service is incredibly hit or miss. I have been many times where I got in and out in a timely fashion. However, other times I have waited 20 minutes to have my drink order taken. That being said, the food here is excellent. The burgers and sandwiches give their neighbor, The Rookery, a real run for their money. They also have a number of delicious pasta dishes. Also, try their homemade cakes if you aren't too full by the end of your meal. Absolutely delicious.

The atmosphere is nice - a very classic, 1940s atmosphere, aided by the music. The paper tablecloths give a cheapness to the otherwise classy place, however. The service is usually good, but the friendliness of servers is slightly inconsistent. I have never had an unfriendly server, but I have had some that were a little distant. Their brunch is delicious; though slightly pricey, everything is consistently good. Their lunch is okay. The fried green beans are delicious, but they took their best and most creative sandwich off the menu - the Bobie. There are better places for lunch, so I really only recommend it for brunch.

My visit was a one-two punch of bad service & bad food. My wife's meal was good. I ordered a recommended chicken/pasta entree. When it arrived the chicken was the toughest I've ever encountered in a restaurant. It had no flavor and seemed as if it was boiled (perhaps frozen to begin with) - it wasn't grilled or fried, not sure how it was cooked. The pasta was marginal - not bad but not memorable either. My waitress replaced it with a burger which I waited for longer than my original entree. There was no urgency to make it right, no apology or visit from the manager. I requested additional napkins (my long awaited burger was messy, but decent tasting). The napkins never arrived. I asked a waitress from another table for napkins & she said, "just a minute." She never brought them. My glass of water say empty two times before she made it back to refill. I'll never return to this restaurant.

Mediocre burger that seemed to be frozen, Merlot that tastes like vinegar, and slow service. Perhaps their brunch is better

Service is horrifically slow, and we just ordered sandwiches. There are employees everywhere , but that doesn't seem to improve efficiency.

Used to love this place but in the last couple of months had two exceptionally bad experiences, both on the weekend. In the first instance a friend and I were seated and then waited for 15 minutes for anyone, anyone at all to take our order or even acknowledge us. Servers walked around us a number of times but no one ever approached or even met our eye. So we left and ate at the Rookery instead (highly recommended). We tried again a couple of weeks later and did get someone to take our order but after waiting for over 30 minutes we asked another server to check on our ticket. Apparently it had been sitting in the kitchen and no one bothered to bring it out. The salad we had waited 30 minutes on was limp and yellow and the manager had a REALLY bad attitude when we called it to her attention. Will never eat here again. Really, whoever the owner is needs to get a handle on their customer service before their rude and sullen employees drive away their remaining business.

The food was good but the service was absolutely the worst I've received. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food brought out was incorrect and cold. After we asked to speak with management our waitress said "Not going to happen".
(1)Jennifer W.
I placed our order with our waiter who seemed very aloof. Actually, come to think about it I don't think he ever even asked us what we wanted to drink or order. He just stood there with notepad in hand waiting. We placed our order and my salad came out pretty quickly but an hour later and still no food! I mean a pizza and grilled cheese doesn't take very long to make. At first I just assumed they were so busy. Then I noticed other people who came in after us getting their food. Our waiter would not approach our table. Another waiter finally came to ask if we had ordered. I was like, we ordered an hour ago. He went to the kitchen to learn that our order was never put in. Needless to say I was not sticking around any longer.

Terrible quality for the pasta dishes, which are not cheap. I ordered the checca, the highlight of which was supposed to be capellini and tomatoes. The pasta was cooked into a state of mush, and the tomatoes were CANNED!! I did not pay well over $10 to eat mushy pasta smothered in Hunt's CANNED STEWED TOMATOES. Truly disgusting. My husband's fettuccine Alfredo was not much better. This time, though, the pasta was slightly undercooked. The sauce sort of tasted like gravy and probably came from a can, as well. I was expecting more from an independent restaurant, but probably could have gotten a better meal at the Olive Garden. The only redeeming aspect of the meal was the dessert. Note, however, that they are short on deserts toward the end of the evening. They were out of both the banana pudding and the carrot cake, so we settled for the chocolate cake, which was divine. So one extra star for yummy cake and really good, friendly service. Perhaps we'll come back here for dessert, but never again for a meal.

Place is pretty empty, good for me, i can sit where i please. Loved the food and my waitress Clara was really sweet.
(4)Will R.
Food was mediocre, service sub par due to getting both our orders wrong and the waitress giving us a side of attitude even after the fact we waited awhile. I've been here several times over the last year and the service just keeps getting worse which ruins the experience and will make it my last. The food I ordered was okay but didn't justify the price.
(2)Shari P.
Definitely seek out this cafe! The Martina & May, The Bobby, and the tuna melt were perfect! Not to mention the homemade chips and banana pudding!!! Amazing food all around and great service!
(5)Vats A.
Went for Sunday brunch here and it was busy as anticipated. The meal was very filling and we ended up with more food than we could handle. Ordered the side of biscuits, PanSan with Chicken Sausage, and Napolean French Toast with Strawberries+Pecans+Bananas. The downfall to the experience was the service. It took a while just to get straws for our drinks; not a problem. The clincher was when the bill came and we were charged $3.95 'breakfast meat' for substituting Chicken sausage for the PanSan. The meat was one 3" sausage cut in half and the menu specifically said it cost $1.95 to substitute the item, which was steep for one piece but I love chicken so I was willing to pay $1.95 for it. When we told our waitress about the $3.95 instead of $1.95 she was hesitant to believe us and left with a partial attitude to "check with the manager, even though it might not get changed." Lo and behold the menu states $1.95 and she had to have known her mistake. The waitress then proceeded to walk by our table 3 times without acknowledging her mistake or even giving us our check so we could pay and leave!!! Had to go up to the bar and ask her to give us the corrected check. Overall, would get food from here but only if it is take out...
(3)William S.
Food was not so good...staff was friendly but had to wait at hostess stand for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. Restrooms are not in restaurant and are filthy. Bloody Mary was good. Probably won't go back.
(3)Carole L.
Very yummy sandwiches that were very light but filling!! The turkey California special was wonderful!! Good homemade potato chips!! The Mary club was also very yummy with the rosemary focaccia bread and herbed mayo!! Very good service!!!
(4)Michelle S.
We love getting breakfast/brunch here! Crab cake egg benedict and French Toast Napoleon are THE MUST! One time they over cooked the eggs but they were more than happy to re do them. They also have a good veggie burger.
(4)Beth H.
Prices and service are reasonable, but not exceptional. I typically stop in for breakfast/brunch or lunch with friends. If you have a choice, I'd opt for breakfast. I recommend the French toast and southern eggs benedict. My little brothers love getting a slice of cake here, because the pieces are humongous.
(3)Kent P.
I see all these good reviews and don't understand. I've been here 3 times and never have had a good experience. Food is kind of nasty and service is soooo slow. Go to the Rookery across the street for some real good food.
(2)Eric U.
Great cafe. Went for breakfast we ordered typical items like pancakes, eggs, biscuit/ gravy. Everything was good and the prices were reasonable. The building looks like a reclaimed department store from the 50's which gives the place a throwback feel. Kid friendly.
(4)Stephanie M.
First let me say--I love having lunch at Market City Cafe. This weekend, I went for my first breakfast experience at MCC. I ordered the Crab Cake Egg Benedict and that's when my MCC love came to a screeching halt. They used imitation crab meat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The appearance of the crab cake was my first clue that I was in trouble with this dish. It did not look like a homemade crab cake. It looked like a frozen patty that might be served at one of the chain drive-thru fish restaurants. I didn't want to give up on the dish just by appearance alone, so I dove in. The insides of the crab cake were mushy. There was no lump meat and no clear pieces of ingredients that you usually see (red bell pepper, green onion, CRAB MEAT). Instead, when I looked into the cake, I saw the dreaded red-colored flesh of imitation crab meat. My heart sunk. I couldn't believe that one of my favorite downtown restaurants would serve this "crab cake". It was disappointing to say the least. The other three people had sausage, gravy, and biscuits, and regular breakfast fare and they were pleased with their choices. Market City--take that dish off the menu OR, even better, make a real crab cake and serve it with pride. I know you aren't proud of what is currently being served.

Hostess has the personality of a stone and acted like I was a bother to serve. Then I sat TEN minutes without being further acknowledged. Walked out. The food here is usually at least OK, but the last few times the service has stunk.
(1)C C.
Their chicken salad (tastes like there is some curry powder in it) and homemade chips are great. Their spin on banana pudding is ridiculously good - an absolute must try if you're in town. Make sure to order it first before they run out. The only negative is the SERVICE - it can be slow at times, hard to get refills, and it took forever to get our food when I was with a larger group. If they could just fix the service this place would be 5 stars!
(3)Michael J.
Great lunch food. Get there before 12 Service is good Price is fair. Breakfast is average. Fruit is never fresh

Unfortunately, I have to report that Telegraph readers have it wrong. This place should not be considered "Best of the Best" so don't be fooled by the showiness of this award. If the Sunday afternoon hostess were more pleasant I'd potentially have a different first impression. If the server who was meant to wait on us didn't fight with said hostess over being too busy to take our table I'd potentially cut my negative first impression some slack. The food didn't help nor hinder my final thoughts -- I wanted to try this cafe for a while because it looks cute and quaint and French but beauty on the inside is what counts and this place is all makeup and no heart.
(1)Miss M.
bland veggie burger, idiot waiter, and no kidding I had to stand in line 10 minutes to pay because they use an iPad to take plastic and the line is directly in front of where food comes out of the kitchen, which means I'm getting bumped and annoyed. lame...

If you're looking for a good breakfast/brunch place, go here! I was visiting Macon just before Christmas with my boyfriend (born and raised in Macon) and we decided to go here for brunch on Sunday. We both thought it was fantastic! He had never been before, but decided this was where he would take anyone looking for a good breakfast while in town. Food: I had a hard time choosing from their pretty diverse menu, but the waiter recommended the French Toast so I asked for that, with a side of eggs (not really on the menu, but he was accommodating). I LOVED it. My boyfriend got the Corned Beef Hash and he loved that too. Service: So great, our waiter was attentive and had the laid-back southern temperament you would expect at a Georgia restaurant. He also continuously refilled our coffee cups without us asking, which I enjoyed. Ambiance: It was clean, the space felt open and the tables were spaced well, and the decorations were normal. I saw some other customers with espresso drinks in funny mugs (Mickey Mouse, holiday, etc) and I thought that was unexpected but I liked it. The only thing that's missing is a website with a menu! We almost went to The Rookery for bunch because their online menu looked so good, but I'm really glad we chose Market City Cafe.
(5)Scott B.
For the most part the food was good. Chicken veg soup was way salty. We sent it back. Staff was unwelcoming, bizarre and very unprofessional. They all acted like it was there first day on the job. Bathrooms were nasty.
(2)Kenneth R.
The best thing about lunch was when the taste left my mouth. House chips and Tina melt left a lot to be desired.

A friend of mine was getting married in Macon and I hosted a men's breakfast for him the morning of the wedding at this place (I found it courtesy of Yelp). The cafe sits on a corner of downtown Macon, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, the restaurant is very spacious and open. Their menu is very diverse and the food is pretty good, especially for the price. Some of their selections are down-right exceptional - don't miss their homemade potato chips with ranch dressing for dipping. Finally, their service is very good. The waitress who waited on us was kept busy looking after 11 hungry guys - she was helpful and attentive. I look forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Macon.
(4)Danny D.
Fantastic place, unexpected in downtown Macon. I don't understand why it didn't get more 5 star reviews! We were in Macon visiting my dad in the hospital and found it on yelp with avg of 4 stars, so we gave it a shot. We were very pleasantly surprised, especially since my wife is a vegetarian and is used to not finding much to rave about in middle Georgia. She had the pasta with red and alfredo sauce and it was delicious. I had the Amazing B.T. Burke (?) BLT sandwich with peanut butter!! Don't knock it til you try it, it's incredible! My boys had the Bibb Burger and both of them said it was the best burger they've ever had (next to In-N-Out of course!). It was a great lunch and from what I heard about their breakfast, we're definitely going back before we leave!
(5)Jessica T.
In my opinion, this place has amazing cake, great sweet potato fries, and the best blue cheese dressing (it's not cream based but some sort of vinaigrette). That being said... I have never had more trouble getting something left off my salad than I have here... and that's EVERY SINGLE TIME. Don't get me wrong, I still eat here, partially because there aren't many options in Macon, but I have to emotionally prepare for it. When you walk in there is, basically, a salad bar to your right. The customers can watch the chefs pick up the ingredients and place them into a salad bowl. There is, I kid you not, just a bunch of bowls of ingredients that they mix together and/or stack, to create their salads. Now, knowing that... the first time I asked for them to leave off the chicken and bacon and substitute it with eggs and/or almonds, the waitress told me that they do not alter their menu and got the manager. Really? The manager came over and asked me what my problem was. I told her I was a vegetarian. She had ME apologizing for settling for just NO CHICKEN OR BACON. Is one less step hurting someone? One less reach into the bowl? The next few times I went in, I got trouble, but at least I got my salad. The last time I was there was when my mother was in town. When our waitress walked by I told her I was ready to order. She looked at me and said, "excuse me?" Then when I started to tell her that I wanted the salad without the chicken and to just put on eggs and almonds instead (and I even told her I knew they were going to charge me extra for the almond slivers and that I have gotten it a few times before) she turned around, walked away, and told another waitress she just couldn't deal with people like them (referring to us). And if it weren't for the fact that my mother was starving, I would have gotten up right there. I want to like this place, I do. They always have giant cakes and chocolate bars on display and cool music playing. But what if I was of a religion that didn't believe in eating pork? There are such religions. And I have been a vegetarian for, like TEN YEARS. So in a way, I'm pretty devoted to it. Their food is decent, but if they can't get a handle on the lazy service and the bad attitudes of the people who work there (with a few delightful exceptions, of course) I will be forced to boycott this place. Because regularly being nasty to someone for not wanting chicken on their salad is just a weird thing to do. Don't you think? Good luck Market City. I hope you get better. : )
(2)Joanne E.
Stopped in here for a late afternoon meal on our way to Athens from Florida. The chicken vegetable soup they have everyday was a healthy choice and didn't seem over salted. I wish they had a better soup spoon to eat it with though - we were in a hurry and I didn't have time to eat it with the spoon they gave me so I actually lifted up the bowl to finish it. Rude on my part, but that tells you how good it was. My husband had the soup and salad greens with roasted chicken added. Portion wasn't that large. And the general ambiance seemed a little barren. Would we go back? Only if we were hungry and happened to be driving right past. In other words, we wouldn't go out of our way to return.
(3)Amy F.
Reliably friendly service and excellent food! The desserts are simply amazing, with serving sizes that are unbelievable. Try them for a casual dinner and sit in the corner window with friends!
(4)Majeedah A.
I went here last Friday with a few girlfriends to have a drink. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine & cocktail . We grabbed a seat by the window which was great to watch people walking by. The waiters were also very friendly, there were 3 different waiters that came over and made sure we were okay but they weren't overbearing. I think this is a great place to go to grab a bite b/f heading out to the bars or just for an early girls hang out. The atmosphere was very relaxed and not too loud we were able to relax and chat. I will definitely come back.
(5)catlyn p.
Amazing Chineese Chicken Salad...great chickenb salad sandwiches!!! Love the place.
(4)Elliott D.
Always a good stop for lunch in downtown macon
(4)Kathy H.
Not bad at all for Macon. My mom was in hospital here, this was one of the few downtown places open for lunch on Sunday, so we gave it a try. Good bloody mary, well made & easy to drink. Most dishes from scratch, crab benedict was lovely. Breakfast potatoes, which are usually trashed by most establishments, were actually GOOD here - nice & crispy, not overdried, not mealy, and not greasy! Would definitely revisit.
(3)Robyn S.
We stopped here on the way from Indiana to Florida, wanting a place to stop that would get us away from the highway and treat us to some local fare. We had our 3 girls with us (ages 7 and twins who are 5) and the staff made them all feel right at home. There is a fountain inside and a server gave my girls pennies to throw in twice. They did not have a kids menu per se, so we ordered spaghetti and pizza and divided it up among them, and it worked out great. The kids loved it. I'd go back!
(4)Tonia D.
While driving through Macon on our way home, some friends and I turned to Yelp for a dinner recommendation. We found Market City and man was it a great find! I went for the soup and salad. The "chicken gumbo" was delicious, but I wouldn't call it a gumbo; it had carrots and green beans, and there was no rice. The salad was oh so fresh, making it heaven. One friend had the cobb salad and said it was delicious. The other had the Asian chicken salad and kept raving about it. We all opted for dessert. So, we split a peanut butter chocolate cream cake. HOLY COW! It was easily 1/4 of the whole cake! It was also fabulous. The great food combined with the awesomely affordable price and a great waitstaff makes it a fantastic gem of Macon!
(5)Christopher S.
"Certainly, darling!" , is what the waitress said. That alone made me a fan. Great service, good food, big portions, excellent prices. Right in downtown, plenty of parking. Started out quiet but really picks up around lunch. Could use a little redecorating but definitely a great place to eat! ps...Was looking for a cafe but this is a full blown restaurant. Glad I gave it a try though:)
(4)Julie C.
the french toast here is the DEVIL. was seriously contemplating going back tomorrow for more. thank goodness i think they're closed on sunday, because i'm already busting out of all of my clothes. picture three huge slices of challah bread with chantilly cream, pecans and strawberries. yummo! the bread is golden brown and not too eggy, which is my main turn off with french toast. btw...they have another dish, the country benedict, that is also satanically wrong and totally delish. biscuits, patty sausage, eggs and country gravy. they advertise it with scrambled eggs, but with eggs over medium....omg. so wrong. this is totally random, but they serve fantabulous pickled okra with their bloody mary's. ask your server for a couple!
(4)Cheri L.
I have gone a couple of times for brunch and will go again. I have dined once inside and once on the patio. The service is very friendly and the food is good. I do have a small gripe that they apparently did not know to do poached eggs "medium" as they came quite runny. Otherwise, the food, drinks and coffee are delicious.
(3)Candy L.
Beautiful corner view of historic downtown Macon. A perfect place to go for a great salad, soup, sandwich, or dessert. The service was ok, but I didn't mind because of the Saturday brunch crowd. The chicken salad sandwich and Market City Cobb Salad were both pleasing to the palate, but the banana pudding and carrot cake were icing on the cake!
(4)Billie C.
Stopped by here with my mom to treat here to lunch. I had been wanting to eat here for a while because it seemed like a place that did not fit into the usual sort for Macon. They have lots of display cases that showcase some of their tasty treats. I ordered a tuna melt panini i believe. It was quite tasty and came with a side of thick cut potato chips. My mom got a chicken salad sandwich which she liked very much. Her sandwich came on a croissant and with a side of thick cut potato chips as well. Mom's sandwich was a little messy but i guess that is sorta what you get with a chicken salad sandwich. The portions were plenty for lunch or even dinner. Overall this place did not disappoint and I am sure to return again some time. If you are in Macon make sure to stop by here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
(4)Will W.
The French Toast, grilled cheese and breakfast sandwich are all good choices.
(3)Allie D.
Solid dining choice. Tasty and cheap breakfast menu. Never tried the pasta, but their sandwiches and burgers hit the spot- try one with onion rings. $10 lunch is a little pricey to me, but one can only eat so much fast food or frozen dinners!
(3)L G.
Awful! Do not get the prime rib unless you want tasteless poorly cooked food you will have to return. 6 of us were there and 3 people complained. Go somewhere else.
(2)Elizabeth S.
Mary Burke sandwich is my favorite... Banana pudding is amazing but you have to call and reserve some when they open around 11... Good luck getting any at dinner!
(4)M C.
I really like their food here...good service...and how about that huge piece of cake...lol no seriously.. BUT their iced coffee was gross as heck. The waitress warned me...but i needed caffeine..
(3)Denim W.
This place is great for lunch in downtown Macon. You can't beat the price for the quality and portions of food. Got the banana pudding last time and I have to agree that it is FANTASTIC!
(5)Rob V.
Breakfast here is great. Try the country benidect. Open face biscuit 2 sausage patties, sausage gravy and 2 scrambled eggs. Not lowfat but yummy. Nice outside seating. Great prices
(4)Bradley A.
This place delivered well with what it tried to do. The server Carla was an excellent host. The background music and ambience was really cool. And the food exceeded both our expectations. Will definitely make this a regular stop on our Atlanta-Savannah trips. Now having made a second stop I'm throughly convinced this place is a keeper. Love their extend hours but glad they are not 24 hours and offer a nice balance of quality food and quality of life for the owners and employees that make this place such a hit. Enjoy your time off guys!
(5)Travis B.
everything is closed in macon on a sunday, so we went the following saturday morning. beautiful inside. wait staff a bit rattled as we had to ask three times for more coffee (which is great coffee by the way). my pancakes were big, light, fluffy and delicious. the grits were smooth and creamy. her french toast was even more tasty with a light, sweet crunch. not waffle house prices, but very doable for the middle class budget.
(4)Tee M.
I was very pleased with this restaurant. The banana pudding was the bomb!!! (in a good way) The sandwich I had was delicious!
(4)Keila H.
Eh, I was disappointed. With all of the yelp reviews and signage touting this place as the place to eat, I was underwhelmed. The service was polite, but slow and the food wasn't that great. My burger was so-so, and my friend's order of fried green beans came a little...light on the plate. So few of them that she sent her order back. With all of the other food experiences I've had in Macon, I can't say I'd go back here.
(2)Stephen C.
Horrible customer service. Absolutely dreadful. Waitress was surly, unknowledgeable, inattentive, and prone to mistakes. I'm very surprised this establishment is able to remain a going concern given the premium it charges on its lackluster food (on the whole, items seem to be priced approximately 17-22% in excess of those item's true value--a sign that management, in addition to being unwilling or unable to properly recruit, train, and discipline a decent wait staff, does not know how to engage in proper purchasing/budgeting--fundamentally that management is not doing its job) combined with its record of consistently poor service. As a former waiter, I am not some spoiled person who expects everything his own way: when you're not new and you only have two tables, there's really no excuse to give horrible service. As I said, the food was lackluster. It was about the quality I would expect to get off a decent food truck in a larger city, but definitely nothing special. And as I said before, the pricing is horrible. As a further sign that management is totally and completely incompetence, I was compelled to use a wireless-connected Ipad with a credit card skimmer to pay for my meal--which is fine, I guess--SO LONG AS IT IS HOOKED TO A SECURE NETWORK!!! However, management at this establishment did not feel as if my customer data and personal information were worth using the most rudimentary safeguards to protect. And in the end, that decided me against ever returning to this establishment. I've been there five times over the years and each time I've walked away completely dissatisfied with its level of service--on par with many of the finest fast food restaurants located in bad sections of town.

My friend and I were traveling from Atlanta to Savannah and were looking for a drink and dessert. It was clean and we were seated immediately, and that's about all I can say good. The waitress was less than excited to wait on us. My friend ordered a vodka lemonade and was given top shelf liquor without being asked, and was charged accordingly. Their espresso machine was broken, so I ordered an Arnie Palmer. Clearly powdered lemonade. The coconut cake was dry and not coconutty, except for the sprinkles. I'm a fat girl, so I'm not normally picky, but this was very disappointing.
(2)Kim H.
Excellent service, the french today really is extreme. The cream they serve with it is so good.
(4)Tara B.
The food was fair, restaurant was clean. Would certainly go back if in the medical center area again.
(3)Ray E.
Busy place-best for brunch, I have never had a bad meal there. Have ordered the same dish a few times and comes out dif every-time. Great selection on the menus and staff is fast and friendly
(4)Carmella T.
I was charged $1.75 for less than a quarter of an avocado, and told "avocados are expensive" when I asked about the portion. Additionally, service is very very SLOW. I would not recommend going here.
(2)David N.
Some of the food was very good, some fair. Service was poor. We went for Sunday brunch at around 12:30. Had to wait for a table. Then had to wait for service. I emptied my coffee cup two times and waited for refills. Her breakfast of Belgian waffles with strawberries and bananas was very good. My Monterey omelet was a little dry and small. The side order of potatoes was dry and unexciting. Overall, we weren't impressed with the place.
(3)Lauren E.
OK im on the fence here... the food is good, not too happy with the Bibb Burger (Ive had better at McDonalds) but the Desserts... (Mainly the Banana Pudding) OMG! Absolutely Amazingly Wonderful (and I dont even like banana pudding) The portions they give you on the cakes are HUGE! Call ahead to reserve your banana pudding b/c they sell out before noon usually! Other than that, They really need to work on there entree menu, scale of 1 to 10 the entrees are a 6.
(4)Rebecca E.
Absolutely wonderful place for lunch in downtown Macon. While working last summer this was my favorite place to go with co-workers and have a great meal and take a break. They have freshly made potato chips that are served warm out of the oven (or fryer??) and they are delicious. My favorite thing to eat there is the grilled cheese sandwich. They make it with two kinds of cheese and it is SPECTACULAR! Their lasagna is also delicious.
(5)Lori P.
Great food and service. Would recommend. Charming downtown
(4)Luke H.
Clean, spacious and reminiscent of French Cafes in London. It has a well appointed bar, deli, and patisserie. Very nice place, with reasonably cheap prices. Good for a power lunch, or an afternoon tea. They are only open until 5pm, except on First Fridays when they stay open later.

The service here has definitely gotten better over the last year. I knew I'd have to wait quite awhile for my food in the past and only came when I knew I had 2 hours for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't wait long and the service was much better during my last 2 visits. I could see a change in staff. Maybe they started reading their reviews and took heart.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around downtown. I knew it had opened, but had not been in yet. I was pleasantly surprised by both the options and the prices. I enjoyed a classic Greek salad that was big enough to fill me up and regrettably not leave room for desert. Every desert that passed our table looked amazing. My friend ordered the meatloaf sandwich with homemade super crispy chips. The meatloaf was different than the typical loaf in that it was seasoned with an unidentified herb that gave it a really unique taste. Generous portions, good atmosphere and great prices. The service could be improved upon, but was much better than I had heard from friends.

BEST TUNA MELT EVER. Across the whole country. It is crunchy and melty and perfect. Doesn't get soggy, or anything. Also, their onion rings are fantastic, not too greasy, and their fried green beans are amazing.

Oh my goodness, I LOVE this cafe. The waiters are friendly, and the menu is rich. ALL the food is always plentiful, so you definitely get your money's worth. And don't even get me started on the desserts...OMG. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but one MUST try any of their desserts when he or she goes. The only cons about this joint are that they do not (for now) accept credit or debit cards, and that they are not open on Mondays. Other than those, this is the place to eat in Macon.

Busy place-best for brunch, I have never had a bad meal there. Have ordered the same dish a few times and comes out dif every-time. Great selection on the menus and staff is fast and friendly

I was charged $1.75 for less than a quarter of an avocado, and told "avocados are expensive" when I asked about the portion. Additionally, service is very very SLOW. I would not recommend going here.
(2)Will R.
(5)Beth H.

(4)Graham D.
(4)Anastasia B.

(2)T R.

(1)Linda L.

(4)Vats A.

Great food and service. Would recommend. Charming downtown

(4)Scott B.
(4)Eric U.
Great cafe. Went for breakfast we ordered typical items like pancakes, eggs, biscuit/ gravy. Everything was good and the prices were reasonable. The building looks like a reclaimed department store from the 50's which gives the place a throwback feel. Kid friendly.

Amazing Chineese Chicken Salad...great chickenb salad sandwiches!!! Love the place.

(3)Stephen C.

(4)Christine C.
(4)Allie D.
Solid dining choice. Tasty and cheap breakfast menu. Never tried the pasta, but their sandwiches and burgers hit the spot- try one with onion rings. $10 lunch is a little pricey to me, but one can only eat so much fast food or frozen dinners!
(3)Michael J.
Great lunch food. Get there before 12 Service is good Price is fair. Breakfast is average. Fruit is never fresh
(4)S C.

The food didn't help nor hinder my final thoughts -- I wanted to try this cafe for a while because it looks cute and quaint and French but beauty on the inside is what counts and this place is all makeup and no heart.

bland veggie burger, idiot waiter, and no kidding I had to stand in line 10 minutes to pay because they use an iPad to take plastic and the line is directly in front of where food comes out of the kitchen, which means I'm getting bumped and annoyed. lame...

Mary Burke sandwich is my favorite... Banana pudding is amazing but you have to call and reserve some when they open around 11... Good luck getting any at dinner!

I really like their food here...good service...and how about that huge piece of cake...lol no seriously.. BUT their iced coffee was gross as heck. The waitress warned me...but i needed caffeine..
