Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Great Mexican restaurant on Mercer's campus. We enjoy coming back all the time. Chips and salsa are some of the best around.

Great food..not the usual canned Mexican fare. We had one El Oso Loco Nachos and it was more than two hungry adults could eat. The guacamole was fresh made! My husband isnt crazy about Mexican but he deemed it "delightful"! Clean and fresh modern college type environment with good alcohol selection (we didnt drink however so cannot say how the alcoholic drinks rate). Our visit was around 5pm on a weekday...small place so probably can get rather crowded at peak times. Two teas and the nachos came to $18.92. We will return!

It's a good place if you live on Mercer University campus because its close and they have a good bar selection. But the food is just okay, there is much better Mexican food in Macon. If your just going to drink, hang with friends, and watch sports then this is a good place to go. But for really good food, search elsewhere.

Just ate here for lunch. The food is meh, the service is meh, but the prices were pretty good. For six dollars I ordered a taco, the guacamole salad, rice, beans, and unlimited chips and salsa. The value was pretty good. But the server was oddly grumpy and we had to ask for basic things like silverware. Other people had issues with the quantity of their food (the burritos resembled snack wraps) and the conditions of plates and silverware (old and visibly broken or bent). The server was quick with the checks, which I appreciate for a work lunch, but other people in our group were put off by it as we were still eating. Overall, this place is a good deal for a fast lunch, but don't expect anything spectacular.

I have eaten here several times with family and friends. Great location, food and service at a great price. The bartenders and servers are all friendly and offer quick and efficient service. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town for the mere fact that the atmosphere, service and food have been consistently on point. I've tried several items on the menu and everything was exceptional. My absolute favorite dish is the Spicy Chicken Burrito; I can't recommend it highly enough!

Macon doesn't have great Mexican food, but Margarita's at Mercer Village is as good as you are going to get in this town. Super friendly servers & great service. Definitely order the Corridor Dip ... it's super delish. It's a cheese dip with Shrimp, Chicken & Steak. What's not to love.

Good food, clean surroundings and spicy chicken soup!

The service was good, I just don't like their burritos. I like stewed chicken in my burrito but theirs is grilled with a sauce I don't like. The toppings came in a tortilla bowl for some reason so I had to dump it out on my burritos myself. They use no kind of sauce and the burritos were kind of dry. The lettuce they gave me was in huge chunks instead of shredded. The manager told me that is because they shred the lettuce by hand. I say it's because they didn't shred it at all, they just pulled off huge chunks and gave it to me. I just don't care for their food. I prefer El Jalisciense in Warner Robins or El Bronco in Warner Robins.

Went with some coworkers for lunch. 5 big hungry guys, and we all ended up ordering the same thing (House Special). Yummy. But the portion control from plate to plate seemed a little off. You'd think 5 identical entrees would be the same size, right? Nope. Not even close. If they'd gotten that right (it sucks being the guy who gets the smallest plate) it would have been perfect. Service was a little slow but it was the lunch rush. Couple of the guys had unsweet tea accidentally poured into their glasses and were none too pleased, but they fixed it pretty quick, and comped those teas.

This is the BEST Margarita's EVER! They have wonderful service and the food is always good. I would not recommend going to any other's in Macon!

Great service by the manager. He gave me food as the kitchen was closing. Much appreciated.

I try my best to come here once a week, this location has to be my favorite out of all the margaritas. The service is great, the staff is very friendly and the food is the best Mexican around. Have not had a bad experience! I would highly recommend this one if you are in the area!

The food was delish! We tried fish, steak, & chicken tacos & all were very satisfied. The frozen margarita out the machine was actually good. It's worth getting off the interstate to get good mex here!

I dropped by and tried this place a couple of weeks ago. It's so new it seems freakishly clean, but the decor is cool and modern and the service was fine. I ordered their Taco salad, and they were happy to substitute spinach for lettuce at no extra charge, which was great of them. The salad was typical Mexican--tasty and simple, nothing stood out, but nothing was wrong either. With a couple more experiences, this place could easily go up to a 4 star, but for now, it's a solid, cheap place for decent Mexican that doesn't seem too ambitious.

The ingredients are fresh, the staff is friendly and the fare is a little different compared to other local Mexican restaurants. Its offerings are a cut above. Try the fish tacos. They're the best in town. Explore the menu and go beyond the usual combination platters. You won't be disappointed.

Very greasy meat and nothing tasted very quality. Bleh.
