Liu Fu Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I have not been to Liu Fu for years. I decided to give it a try since it moved up north. It is nicely decorated with more space and contemporary decor. However, we had to wait for 15 minutes to place the order. And as it has been mentioned by many others: kitchen is super slowwwww. It had been 30 minutes before the waiter told us that it would be slower than normal. The food is OK, not close to the old place.

I'm only giving this place a one star because I can't give it 3/4 of a star. It took so long to get our food, over an hour on a not very busy saturday night. The food is mediocre at best; and the table is impossible to turn.

I haven't been to Liu Fu since they moved over from Chamblee, and got to taste about 15 dishes at once as I was with a huge group. The interior decoration is very nice, and it is very spacious, compared to the old location. The food, in my opinion, also is more yummy than when it was located in Chamblee! Not sure if they got a new chef, or what! I would say stop by for a taste if you are in the area. Enjoy!!

Well it's been now about 50 minutes and still my wife and I have not received our food. All they say is soon, soon. Finally received our food. No apology from the manager or anything but the bill. We are done here and going to find another place. The service is horrible.

The place is nicely decor, but the food is way too Americanized. Perhaps it suits the American crowd, but for people with authentic pallets, I advise to try other places.

I was in town for business and my compatriots and I dropped in for dinner one evening. The food was very good and the service was very friendly and made a couple of good recommendations. As other reviewers mentioned, the ambiance is great but the kitchen is pretty slow. We ordered four dishes and were nearly done with the first three before the final one arrived (we actually had to ask if they had forgotten it). Still, I'd definitely recommend it.

We wanted to come were when it first opened, but I heard mixed reviews from several people. Either they liked it or didn't. We decided to wait so it could work out its kinks. We arrived around 7:00 on a Friday night and the parking lot was full. I thought we would have to wait, but this place is huge, so there was plenty of seating. We ordered the 3 ingredient Mongolian, 5 spice shrimp, and jam pong (spicy seafood soup). Everything tasted really good. The Mongolian included shrimp, chicken, and beef. There was quite a bit of shrimp. I was surprised. Also, in the soup, there were at least 4 scallops and a good bit of shrimp. I probably would of liked the soup to be a little spicier, but it was still good. I'm glad they didn't put in mussels or clams, bc I don't like them. The service was very good and the food came out fast. The owner went around to several tables and served the food. My husband remembered him from China Inn and he remembered my husband, so they chatted for a bit. There is a Korean menu, but you have to ask for it. Thanks to Scoutmob for $10 off and also to Liu Fu for fixing the kinks. Def will be back to try the ja jang myun and other dishes.

I was just passing by that area and saw this restaurant, as it was lunch time I gave it a try, Ambiance is great, food was good, service just lacked . Ordered Mango Chicken, it was good, I haven't had it before so i have no clue if some other restaurant make any better

I loved china inn, and was so excited to find out they had reopened as liu fu. As others have mentioned, the place was packed. The hostess did tell us it might be slower than we were used to.. That should have been our sign to turn around! We ordered wonton soup and hot and sour soup, steamed potstickers and several entrees. The hot and sour soup came out fairly quickly.. After 45 minutes, nothing else had come out (not even the soup noodles!) and not even any wait staff!! We walked out and will not be back! Such a shame, because China Inn had been so good and consistent!

As mentioned before, this restaurant was located in Chamblee as China Inn, and I am very happy that it's come back in Johns Creek. I've already been there a few times and I know that it is still one of my favorite Chinese places. I decided to eat here with a couple of friends on an early Saturday night and when we first entered, the hostess was very welcoming. She warned us that there might be a bit of a wait, and I found this reasonable as it has recently opened and there are always a few adjustments that need to be made. Anyway, as I was escorted to my table, I looked around and couldn't help admire the elegant Chinese decorations and the clean look of the restaurant. My order arrived within reasonable timing, seeing as it was around 6:00, just beating the dinner rush. But as I continued to eat, the restaurant got more and more crowded and service became harder to get - again, reasonable. Now onto the food. I've already picked out a few favorites. First, is the spicy hot boiled fish. I've had many renditions of this dish and I have yet to find one that is as well prepared as the one served at Liu Fu. But warning: this dish is pretty spicy. The fish was tender and the spices are balanced nicely. Second, the walnut shrimp - a definite crowd pleaser as this dish was finished first. This was fried shrimp in a mayonnaise-like sauce served with roasted candied walnuts and steamed broccoli. And lastly, sweet bread rolls. I'm not sure if this is the exact english name but it should a close rendition to it. They are great with any dish and I highly suggest that you try them. Needless to say, I will definitely be back.

As a long-time regular at China Inn in Chamblee, I was happy to see the move to the much closer Johns Creek location. We made our first visit to the new location last week, and arrived on a weekend night to find the restaurant completely packed. I suspect that some of the initial reviews are a result of some start-up difficulties for this new location, as they are definately in need of some additional wait staff. I noticed that the owner was working in the kitchen all evening to help address the problem. The food was great and the level of quality and consistency from the old China Inn has been maintained. I would highly recommend exploring the Chinese menu, especially to try some Szechuan staples. You will need some help from your server or a Chinese friend however, since regrettably there are no translations for the Chinese menu. Be sure to try the Szechuan Hot Boiled Fish or Beef - my favorite dish with an addictive combination of numbing Szechuan peppercorns, garlic, chilis and vegetables. These can be found on the English menu as well. Another favorite is Liu Fu Xiao Chao, only on the Chinese menu. This dish is sauteed Chinese chives, with tofu, garlic, peanuts, and small dried anchovies - fantastic flavor and texture combination. If you are a fan of Szechuan cuisine, you now have four good choices in this immediate area - Liu Fu, Cafe Q, Lins, and Sichuan House. You can't go wrong with any of these, just get away from the unfortunate English/American menus!

This place definitely doesn't feel like your typical Chinese restaurant. It is beautiful inside and I loved the ambiance. The lighting is dimmed. They have lots of booths surrounding the windows, as well as a bar. China Inn used to be one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Now that they reopened as Liu Fu, the food doesn't disappoint. However, the kitchen was very s-l-o-w. Our food came out painfully slow even though we were one of the first ones to sit down at 5pm on a Saturday evening. I could only imagine those who came after us. There was a long line of people waiting when we left at around 6:30pm. Our waitress was super nice. She explained to us that the kitchen staff was still trying to adjust. Given that there aren't many Chinese restaurants in Johns Creek, I think this is a decent choice. It's a great one if you're looking to entertain or go on a date. I'd check back to see if their kitchen is up to speed. 3.5 stars.

This Liu Fu restaurant from the Southern Doraville about half year ago. At the previous location, the foods were above average. After it moved here on Medlock Bridge Road, my friend Yao told me not to try there. He said, "wait for a few months and see". My other friend Hsu told me not to go. Well, it is about 5 miles from my home. One day my wife and I passed by and we gave it a try. The environment is amazingly beautiful. However the foods were terrible. The huge "meat ball" supposed to be filled up with delicious soup inside. What we had were dried ones. The vega were so so. Later on, we found out that they had changed chefs, and the owner changes chef from time to time. Any way, I will not go back again, because the the costs are not cheap. We felt like we are only paying for its deluxe environment.

My husband and I were so excited to learn about the korean/chinese menu available at Liu Fu. Living in Cumming has made it difficult to drive down to our favorite Man Chun Hong. Unfortunately, Liu Fu was disappointing. The napkin delivered to me on a plate was dirty. Definitely looked recycled. But I had another one the silverware came in so I didn't say antything. The jja jang myun was extremely bland. They also got a ding for not offering to cut the noodles on delivery. The kan poong ki were halves of chicken wings and the small pieces with the bones made it challenging to eat. Also, the sauce was weak. Man Chun Hong definitely has better sauce. Finally, when it came time to pay, it took our server forever and a day to return to pick up the card. Actually, he/she never came back so we got up and went and found him only to find out they don't take Amex. That sealed the deal for us. We will head down to Man Chung Hong from here on out for our korean/chinese dining.

For dinner it's expensive, but if you get in before 3PM the lunch special goes from 6.99 to 7.99. Tables were a bit grimy but you can see the chefs cook your food through the windows. You have to try the Hot Szechuan Boiled Fish, it's stupendously yummy, but only downside is that it is pricy. For the same price, Buford has it.

OK place for Authentic Chinese food. A bit too pricy.

Nice and authentic Chinese dishes right here. If you are not from asian counties you probably won't know how much it is better than American Chinese restaurant such as PF Changs. But, it is the real Chinese dishes and you should try!

I'd been told by at least two friends that Liu Fu's parking lot is always crowded - so I figured it was probably Scoutmob ... however after seeing mostly Chinese customers (and figuring they probably don't know what Scoutmob is) and definitely after eating the food ourselves, it's crowded b/c the food is very good :) FYI - this restaurant is the former China Inn in Chamblee. The restaurant inside is very upscale (esp. compared to other Chinese restaurants), and service was very friendly and attentive. Half of the menu in English (aka "Americanized Chinese" food), and half in Chinese only (aka "authentic" food). Initially the server tried to convince us that all the popular "authentic" Chinese dishes were included in the "Liu Fu Specials" section of the menu but during the course of the meal -- we learned there were some hidden treasures in the Chinese menu. We had a party of 5, and ordered 4 dishes which was just the right amount of food. LIU FU XIAO CHAO - $13 Thanks to Brad S for pointing out this dish -- sauteed Chinese chives with tofu, garlic, peanuts, and dried anchovies. Group favorite dish -- and it's only in the Chinese menu. LOVED the flavors -- and if you need a veggie dish (although there are anchovies), this is the one to pick. Yum Yum Yum!! SZECHUAN HOT BOILED FISH - $18 (The rest of the dishes we ordered were in the English section.) Every time we eat Szechuan, we always get this one -- Liu Fu's version is very good ... the only complaint is the price (esp. compared to other restaurants), and wish there were more fish esp. considering the price. While the top layer had a lot of fish, everything below was mostly cabbage. Still, I'd order this again b/c it tasted that good. SPICY CRISPY CHICKEN - $12 Anything fried is a guilty pleasure -- this dish was good, too. Like the menu said, it had a Buffalo chicken flavor. Portion was very generous - we couldn't even finish this one. ASPARAGUS WITH KING MUSHROOMS - $12 Most disappointing dish of the evening -- pretty bland, and all the asparagus were just the "stalk" parts :( I guess you could say it complemented the other spicy and/or fried dishes ... but honestly I wouldn't order this again. We got this dish to fulfill our "veggie" requirement but the "chives" dish helped achieve that. TREASURE RICE CAKE - $4 Before dinner, we mentioned to our host that one of our friends was celebrating her birthday -- so they gave us this complimentary dessert which was sticky rice w/ red bean, dates, nuts, and served warm. Nice ending to a delicious meal! After dinner when the server learned we were Korean, we discovered Liu Fu also serves Chinese/Korean dishes like Jja Jang Myun, Jjahm Pong, Tang Soo Yuk, and others -- but ha, they're only on the Chinese menu. We told them they need to provide an English translation of the Chinese menu -- or even Korean translation :) We will definitely be back -- not only to get the Chives dish again, but also try their Jja Jang Myun :)

Food is okay in someways. It's kinda mixture of all kinds of chinese food. Decoration is beautiful. But service is extremely bad. That had horrible service attitude. Bed impression as a guest. Need to be improved.

Always very good. On Christmas day things were a little disorganized, but the food made up for it.

I've never walked into a restaurant and be told by the server that every single dish I wanted to order are sold out. I mean seriously, what's the probability of selling out 4 dishes on a weekend when you can expect the most customers? I didn't have a chance to taste the dishes myself, but the attitude of the server and the management really deserve this 1 star.

Food is 4 stars, service can be spotty so a 3 starts overall. Love their fried rice - tastes thai. Can't go wrong with hot boiled fish, mango shrimp, egg drop soup and salt and pepper calamari.

PF Chang's done right! This review is really only for one dish - the Dry Sauteed Beef. I'm eating leftovers for lunch as we speak. For $13, this was a steal. The portion was enough for a friend and I to share, plus I have enough for lunch and dinner today... what? Yeah. Once upon a time I used to like PF Chang's Sichuan Beef but when I went a few months ago, it tasted old, salty, and flavorless... the celery used was mushy and just all around disappointing. The Dry Sauteed Beef at Liu Fu's is actually VERY spicy, which wins extra points in my books. It's a little greasy when it first comes out, but when packing it to go, I just drained it a bit. Not sure how the rest of their menu is like, but this is a good start.

Food was decent. Customer service could use a lot of work. After I was brought my food, no one came by to ask if I needed anything or even checked on me. Prices are what I expected. Highly over priced. I left a tip to show them that a few bucks wasn't gonna break me! Lol. Work on common courtesy Lui Fu!

Been there twice and not disappointed either time. The portions are large and good. There are many options on both the lunch and dinner menus. They use multiple servers for each table and food arrived quickly. The servers were not constantly checking in us but were attentive enough to refill our drinks and allows us to eat but it was difficult to get a server's attention when we wanted our check. Otherwise a good experience and would recommend this place to friends.

The fried rice was bland. The waitress did not ebbed offer any condiments 2 different came to take same order but none showed up to ask if I needed anything..the hot tea in place of water was very nice.

My wife and I are suckers for good Chinese food and this is by far the best that we've ever had. The previous review about bad service is no longer the case. Everything I've gone we've had constant attention and never had a time when we felt neglected As far as the food goes I highly recommend the Spicy, Crispy chicken for those who like spicy food. It's addicting so you've been warned. They also have great general Tso chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Not to mention the crab Rangoon are also very, very good. Only down side is that they're closed every Monday

Extremely RUDE waitress. I'm talking about the old Chinese lady with cake-y, white makeup. She literally yells when she talks and talks back to customers. Food is usually great. Except the one time we found a baby cockroach in our spicy seafood soup. The owner/manager is helpful and polite. If only that one waitress wasn't there...

I go here at least once in a week. Food is great. There is some room for improvement in service though and they are working on it. The owner/manager of this place makes sure that his customers are satisfied with food and service.

Went on a Thursday at lunch and place was about 40% full, patrons looked like people who worked nearby. Food was very tasty- fried salted duck egg eggplant was so good. Chili fish and chili cooked beef was good too. Some tofu dish was very good as well. Good sized portions. Prices on cheap side, when you take into account the decor (nice enough to bring guests) and the portions. Decor is nice, dark wood and art makes place feel more like shanghai. Table and cutlery were clean. Our servers were good, very pleasant and helpful even if they didn't show up too often during the meal. They didnt care that we initially expected 7 ppl and took a huge table but ended up with only 4. Food was served quick. As long as we have tea/water filled we don't like too many random interruptions anyway!

Mixed review. Positives: We had a party of four and ordered two of the house specials, schezwan boiled fish and the shrimp with candied nuts, sorry I do not recall the specific menu titles. The food was tasty and the portions generous. The fish was labeled as spicy and may be to some but well within acceptable tolerance of the general public, in my opinion. The others in my party had the shrimp and were very pleased with the flavors in that dish as well. The restaraunt had a nice ambience. Bright spot on service (opposed to below), one of the servers provided a can of Cokeout of their own private lunch, which goes above and beyond, in my opinionm Detractors: At the time we dined there was an issue with fountain drinks, to the point soda pop was unavailable. This was disappointing as there was no real non alcoholic alternatives other than water ( see above for resolution). Beyond that service was a mixed bag, at times, especially at the outset, our party felt ignore. It was difficult to get our servers attention despite a fairly light crowd. There was also some confusion on our orders initially, but once we got rolling the meal and service settled into a decent cadence. This was our first time at this restaurant and we will return to give it another "go as the food won the day.

Always got mixed reviews so decide to try it. First time i went there the experience was okay but this time was worst. . I ordered Liu Fu Tofu ( Lunch Special) specifically said no Broccoli and was told it doesn't come with Broccoli. The food came with Broccoli before I could say anything she left rather ran away. They took my plate away and she was back in less than 5 mins. I knew it, all she did was remove my broccoli and bring it back. I was like whatever so started eating and guess what again broccoli. Two pieces or broccoli. I spoke to the manager and he was asking me if I was allergic to broccoli..seriously. If you or your kids have serious allergy to food items I would stay away from this place. Service: All service staff is grumpy Dont interact Don't care Have attitude Food : is not very impressive at all. The silk roll they give with food is mind blowing.ONLY GOOD THING there Ambience: Clean and nice

My colleague recommended this place and the dishes which he enjoyed. I tried the below. Szechuan Hot Boiled fish: was great and quantity matched the price, all together it served me for 3 meals. Spicy Crispy Chicken was really yumm, has a kick to it and the dry chilli tasted like south indian fried chilli. I would order this as an appetizer coz its dry and dosent go well with rice. Ambience/service were good and served great food even when we just entered during closing time.

Food was not very good and expensive Chinese for what it was. We knew we were in trouble when you walked in and there was one Chinese family eating there and the rest of the clientele were not Chinese. What went wrong. the tea was weak (mostly water), even after we requested a new pot. Ordered the half duck there was no breast meat no wing totally skimped on the duck. That was not a half duck at all. More lettuce on the plate than duck. They probably used the best parts of the duck in another dish somewhere else. Service was terrible - owner hostess boss lady completely ignored us and was sooo rude. She just dropped the menus on the table and skedaddled off while we were still talking to her. Also we thought we ordered something as an appetizer size but then when the bill came it was far more expensive than what was written on the menu. We didn't ask cuz we just wanted to get out of there but I think they charged us for the entree size which I didn't notice on the menu initially don't know if it was bait and switch pricing? What went right - calamari and the walnut shrimp were good. Got oranges at the end of the meal. I think you're paying for the upscale Decour and the location food is not that great and service is terrible Would rather have good authentic Chinese food at Green China Cafe - yes it lacks the elaborate decor of Pearl lian or this place but it's good and you aren't overpaying for Chinese food. Would not recommend this place and would not be going back.

It's difficult to pinpoint specific characteristics of Chinese food since the cuisine varies vastly depending on region. The north has a heavy use of black vinegar and flour. The south is a champion of rice dishes. Coastal cities love seafood. Inland provinces use land animals and a good amount of vegetation in their dishes. More humid areas such as Hunan and Sichuan see an emphasis on spices, and colder, drier areas such as Xinjiang use lamb and yak in their dishes. This place make me feel like visit all over China :) I went there with my friends and it was evening around 7.30, we where seated right away the waiter was nice the music was calm; definitely one of my top favorite restaurants, the decor here is incredible. The food doesn't disappoint, the Phoenix & dragon was my favorite.

Long time user but first time poster! Good: I went here based on a recommendation and must say that the food was delicious. Certainly some of the better Chinese restaurants that I've been to. We ordered the Velvet Fish and the Spicy Crispy Shrimp along with basil fried rice and the chicken hot and sour soup. I was not so thrilled with the look of the Velvet Fish, as it looked bland but the taste was on point! Mix in a little bit of hot sauce, and it was delicious. The Spicy Crispy Shrimp and the Hot and Sour soup were even better! Bad: The service was a bit sub-par. One of the managers came and joked with us while taking the order, but I felt that everything else was slow. Our dishes came out one-by-one, and the fried rice came out at the very end, which was not ideal since I like to mix in my other dishes with the friend rice. Overall, I would certainly come back and would recommend this place to others with the caveat that the service may be a bit slow.

[TL;DR] Decent Chinese fare. Pretty good jajangmyeon. Everything was decent here. The shrimp fried rice packed pretty good flavor. The pork potstickers were as good as any I've had. No real highlights with the Mongolian beef but no detractors either. Little sweet rolls they brought out were UHHHMAZING. Turned to sugar the instant it hit your tongue. Jajangmyeon was good. Plentiful too.Noodles were thick and sticky. The only real detractor about this place was the service. Off and on. Mostly off. The tea carafe got filled up with amazing efficacy. However, forgetting things like... oh I don't know? Silverware? My parents mentioned the taste of things aren't consistent either. I don't know that I'll be going back, but that's mostly because it's not near me, and I cannot live on jajangmyeon alone without a premature death. HOW TO READ MY REVIEWS: 1 Star - Not edible. 2 Stars - If I'm in the area, I'd pick something else. 3 Stars - I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars - I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars - I would go out of my way to dine here.

This is probably one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in Atlanta. Definitely a wow reaction when you come through the main door. They have cool light fixtures that hang from the ceiling in the main dining area. It's a nice modern space with dark wood and finishes. The service is usually pretty slow but it's probably because we order certain items they make from scratch. Our go to dishes are the jja jhang myun & jjahmbohg soup. This restaurant makes their own noodles for their dishes which is pretty cool in my book. All the dishes I've tried thus far are pretty good and of decent portion. We've gotten their dumplings (mandoo), tahnsooyook, and kkahmpoongkee. Also, they don't stay open late on weeknights.

Awesome food. We ordered schezwan hot boiled fish, pad thai and basil chicken. The basil chicken was the best .. if you happen to order basil chicken.. ask them to put in less chicken and more mushrooms and green pepper and make it a bit saucy. The pad thai was flavorful.. less saucy compared with the ones found in thai restaurants but flavorful, again I would ask for less chicken/shrimp and more noodles/bean sprouts. Schezwan fish was a lil too hot for us. But it was yumm. Next time, will ask them to go easy on the crushed chilly flakes that they put on top. Ambience was good and the service was friendly. Will definitely go back.

What makes a restaurant experience memorable? Food? service? Perhaps. Then What makes it unforgettable? Liu Fu is one of my two most favorite Szechwan restaurants(other is Lin's) in Atlanta OTP. I have been going here for few years now, introduced to me by my partner and his mother. So needless to say, it holds special place in my heart. I was told Liu fu has been in service for 30+ years now but they were originally on peachtree industrial blvd just right inside the perimeter. And moved to this current location in Johns Creek few years earlier. The interior is quite elegant with tall ceiling and beautiful chandeliers. And also big enough to host larger parties as well. And that makes this place perfect for celebrations with families or friends. In fact, over the years I have introduced this place to many of friends and every time they went back raving about the food. As for menu, they have menu in both Mandarin and English. My partner told me that both menu shares a lot of dishes in common but Mandarin menu has more traditional items. So it would indeed be beneficial to take someone who can read mandarin. But if you don't, I recommend trying items from 'Liu Fu Special' part of the menu, instead of ordering just General Tso's chicken. Seriously, why order these items you can get anywhere else when there are so many better items to order? Some of my favorites here are, 1) Szechwan Hot boiled fish 2) Pocket Tofu 3) Spicy crispy Chicken 4) Pork with chives 5) Snow pea leaves 6) Chinese broccoli 7) Szechwan Ma Po Tofu Szechwan hot boiled fish is their signature dish. It's basically Fish filets(usually Basa but any flaky fish will do - here they use flounder or Orange Roughy based on availability) and vegetables in hot red pepper broth.Probably the best szechwan hot boiled fish I have tasted at any restaurant. Also note that, this is not tongue numbing boiled fish you get at restaurants like Gu's Bistro. MUST TRY. Pocket Tofu is another dish we order every single time here. It's a dumplings made with minced chicken and tofu cooked with fresh veggies in a light garlic sauce. This is not spicy item but very tasty and flavorful. If you aren't into spicy food, I highly recommend this. MUST TRY. Spicy crispy chicken - fried chicken, stir fried with different peppers and celery. Just when they bring this item you can smell red hot pepper and tell this is one spicy dish, yet delicious. Pork & chives - we only tried this dish first time when we went here last time. And it immediately became our new favorite. Thin strips of pork stir fried with some sauce and again stir fried with chives. Simple but extremely delicious. And they will make this with just about anything, instead of pork - tofu, chicken or beef. Sauteed Snow pea leaves brings nice balance to all other dishes with it's simplicity - snow pea leaves simply sauteed with oil, garlic and salt. But snow pea leaves are not always in season and fortunately they will tell you that. At that time we usually order Chinese broccoli. Ma po tofu is a popular szechwan style dish(roughly translates to pockmarked grandma's beancurd - not so appetizing, is it?). It's usually cooked with tofu, bean paste, fermented black beans, szechwan peppercorns, chili flakes, chili oil, garlic, green onions, pork(sometime beef). Again, if you have a taste for spice this is another dish you may want to try. Make no mistake, this is not a toned down version so it will be spicy as it should be. In contrary to other reviews, service has been very good here and my experience with the head waitress has been very good too. She remembers our favorites from previous visits, suggests some new items and always very direct. Also, this place is better enjoyed with group of people than just two - it's a family styled restaurant, so the portion size is generally big. And you get to enjoy more dishes family style. And based on my past visits, we spend about $20 per person including tips. They also have lunch menu from 11 am to 3 pm. 5 stars.

Nice atmosphere and kind service. But the mussels I order were tough and very salty. One of my friends felt sick afterward. His spicy crispy chicken dish seemed too salty, as well. I know I won't return, which is too bad because the staff was so friendly!

Had a groupon so decided to stop by. After being seated we waited for around ten minutes without anyone checking on us. We never got water so we had to eat the food we ordered by itself. I have NEVER in my whole life had a meal at a restaurant without being offered water. It's odd she didn't notice. The waitress never came back around, not even once, until she came to give us the check and the dessert. Very disappointed with this restaurant.

Its very thoughtful of them to have a Korean menu, English menu, and a Chinese menu. But seriously people are not kidding about feeling sick after. The service from the waiters are good but that Chinese lady has got to go. Yes you! Saw you roll eyes on not only my table but several tables around me.

I had eaten in here before and had the pad Thai and thought it was good. So I took out from here last week... Really disappointed. The pad Thai really lacked flavor and the orange chicken I ordered for my daughter wasn't very orange. Pretty disappointing. Next time I'll go to Pearl Lian.

Bait and Switch Prices We've been going here for a while because it's close. But the last time we visited for lunch, I happened to check the bill and noticed that all the items were a few dollars more than what they were listed on our menu. When I asked our server, she said she went by the prices on their "Chinese" menu, and that we received dinner portions. Dinner portions? We were there around noon. I asked the manager and he said that's what they do on weekends, wasn't apologetic, and didn't adjust our check. Now, I wonder how many times they've jacked their prices on me in the past. I'd rather drive a little further to CafeQ than give them any more of my business. I give them 2 stars because their food is descent, but CHECK YOUR BILL!

90 min for first hot entree to arrive on a slow Monday night. We called in ahead to reserve a table of 12, and was welcomed over the phone. Just to have kids and family staring at 3 small plates of cold appetizers for an hour and half. This place is so under staffed and the owner would rather do cooking, waiting and bartending all by himself. Totally aweful experience for a family reunion. Never ever again.

Food was very good! Service was terrible. I've never described a waitstaff as condescending, but from the moment we were seated, that's pretty much what we got. The waitress was rude about my child, didn't have enough grasp of English to understand a simple question, didn't put the order in correctly, and removed my unfinished meal while I took my child to the restroom. Other workers made me feel in the way, including the one who was delivering food to my own table. The other patrons seemed to be totally self-absorbed as well. Standing in the middle of the aisle, making rude remarks, etc. We won't be back, but the food was good enough to consider take out!

Have been here before and the one thing that is consistent is the lack of service. We had to track down the server to have them take our order. Waited another ten minutes after that to get tea and water. We went in for a quick lunch but it took us well over an hour and a half. The food is just average.

Not very good. I am visiting the area and came in for lunch with family. The waitress was very impatient and rude, keep rushing us for the order. She just put plates , napkins and utensils on the center lazy Susan and we had to arrange the table ourselves. When we needed to refill water and service, we had to run to the front a few times to get her. The dishes are all dark and soy sauce soaked. It feels that they used the same sauce for every dish. I won't recommend it, if you want real Chinese food.

Nice, big location & great food! I find it hard to get some good eggplant dishes from a chinese place but this place did a great job with their szechuan eggplant! I went for dinner but I'd definitely return for lunch some other time.

My family and I went there for our first time, as soon as you walked through the door it right away smelt off. Then we were seated in a decent time (it was a Monday evening). Ordered our drinks (3 waters) took approx. 10 mins for and my glass had lipstick on it. We then ordered our food which took another 45 minutes and still hadn't received it. To then realize the table beside us had been there before us that had been waiting over an hour! So we then decided to leave. The wait staff was HORRIBLE, no one came to our table to apologize about the wait time, nothing! Needless to say I would not recommend this restaurant if you are going expecting to eat within the hour, and remember this was a Monday evening, I'm curious (but not) to see what it's like on a busy night).

So, this was the worst experience we've ever had at a restaurant! We waited 20 minutes to be seated with no one in front of us and plenty of tables open! The waitress was rushing us to order and then got the order wrong. We waited over an hour for the worst asian food we've ever tasted. When we asked for condiments, they said they were all out......what kind of establishment runs out of condiments. Then I look over at other tables who have exactly what I'm asking for. When it came time to pay we used a Groupon,.which upset the waitress. She actually calculated what we owed her including her tip.......yes I said TIP. Who tells you what their tip should be after horrendous service. We will never ever ever go back. Oh yeah did I mention the food tasted like garbage!

Worst service in town. I'll never come back again. Had to wait 15 minutes and waitress never even came so the 5 of us just walked out. Restaurant was very empty, about 10% capacity and now I know why. There are so many choices in the area (like across the street) and doubt that they'll still be in business much longer.

RUDE OWNER! I screwed up my lunch time because of him. I have never experienced such a rude words from restaurant owner. When I went there today at lunch waitress and waiter never came to get an order from us and when we asked question to the waitress, she was being rude and after all the wait she went to table who came after us to get an order. So i complaint to the owner and he said "what do you want me to do? You want me to bow down to you?" That was actual words he said to me. He even said since he came to get an order from us so quickly order and eat and go.what kind of restaurant onwer says such a things like that? I've been there with my family several times so he even knows us. Since they had a more customers came and their service became worse and rude.

I have mixed opinions about this restaurant. I'll start with food. Food is good. The Mapo Tofu is spot on. Spicy, fragrant and delicious over a bowl of steamed rice. Exactly what I came for. Then...there's the service. We had two waitresses which apparently shared one brain between the two. She brought the tea over...but no cups. Brought the dumplings...but no sauce. I look over and other diners are having similar experiences. Meanwhile, the mexican kid with the mohawk who's the busser is walking around texting.

Worst service ever!! Food was not good. Waitress looked all mad. Went there because of someone's birthday party. Waitress was no where to find and had go get up several times to ask for help. Found them in corner chatting with other waitress. When asked for cups for tea, waitress got very rude and got loud saying there was a cup on the table. All the people at the party were shocked that waitress can yell at customers. Went to the owner to complain, they just switched the waitress. No apologies, if you want to have a good atmosphere and good service, don't go here. There are plenty of others that are way better, RUDE UNFRIENDLY SERVICE AND STAFF.

There was a Scout Mob deal so we went there Friday on hearing they had a great hot boiled fish dish, a personal favorite. I've also been to China Inn and noticed some of the same waiters. A good sign because I have fond memories of going there for lunch at my previous job. Roll up around 8 and the place was busy but not every table was packed. We waited 10 minutes - no big deal. The inside was open, dimly lit, a nicely decorated for a Chinese restaurant in Atlanta. Decor I would give it a 3.5 stars, but I wasn't there for their interior design skills. For our meal, we ordered the appetizer with thinly sliced tofu and scallions in a hot chili oil. Had this dish at China Inn and wanted my girl to try it. When the dish arrives I immediately notice the knife work was not as skilled as the previous China Inn's experiences. Both the tofu and scallions were thick. The taste was not the same either. The oil wasn't hot and the flavor was flat and uninspiring. Not enough scallion to tofu ratio. Give this dish a 2.5. Next, we ordered their signature dish: Sichuan Hot Boil Fish. 15 to 20 minutes later... we get notified they RAN OUT OF FISH. All types of fish. This is unheard of at a Chinese restaurant. You can run out of beef and pork but not the fish!! We had to settle for the beef version. Life lesson: Don't settle. The beef was super tender because they use a common lower quality Chinese restaurant technique of soaking it in water and corn starch. While tender, the meat is flavorless. The chef's at Liu Fu mask it was a mild Sichuan bean sauce. With this dish, if the soup base is off, the entire dish is off. Sadly, that's what we got. It was neither hot nor numbing. There was no richness in spices as one would normally expect. Worst of all, the overuse of MSG gave me a headache and a lingering aftertaste. A firm 2 for this dish. We also ordered flash fried pork chops in a sweet and tangy sauce at the suggestion of our waiter. This was dish was better made than the rest, however, I'm not a fan of this dish in the first place. My father would love it. What's more to say about fried meat in a sweet sauce? Most of them taste the same and it didn't matter what meat was fried. I gave it 3. Life lession #2: Don't let the waiters pick. The service and wait staff was nice. I gave them a 3, which is a lot better than your usual Chinese service. Again, I got pick my restaurants because they look nice or their wait staff is nice. Overall, it was a huge disappointment. We tried to cancel our order and head down the street to another, better Sichuan restaurant. The price point vs value just wasn't there. $18 for the fish? I can get that for $14 at Cafe Q. And it's better and less MSG. I'm glad Scout Mob saved me $10 because it was definitely not a $40+ meal. Up and down 141 there are 3 authentic serving Sichuan restaurants. Do yourself a favor and go to the best one: Cafe Q.

Great food. Pretty good service. Been here multiple times. Be prepared to wait at least half an hour when it's busy. I went when it was packed once... bad idea. I recommend the honey glazed walnut shrimp and the hot boiled fish. The price is fair for what you get, you're also paying for the aesthetic. Dim lighting in some areas of the restaurant. I'd come back again

A colleague of mine took a group of us from work to this place, for lunch on a weekday, telling us this is authentic Sichuan style cuisine. Both times we went there we were seated immediately and attended with our drinks and green tea. The interior is similar to PF Changs level. Our waitress was very helpful, she helped us pick the right dishes for our table. We asked her for the sichuan menu and ordered the Sichuan hot boiled fish, Sichuan style green beans and Liu Fu Chicken. While our lunch was being cooked, we were served freshly made warm and slightly sweet bread rolls that tasted delicious with the fresh chili sauce that is also apparently made at the restaurant. The bread rolls with the chili sauce was amazing. Once our food arrived, the boiled fish came with a clear thick spicy sauce, the Li fu chicken was small crunchy pieces of chicken loaded with spice and the green beans were cooked perfect. All three dishes were served with rice. All 3 dishes for 4 people was more than enough quantity. The flavors were spot on, the spice level was also good. I did add a bunch of their in house chili sauce + soy sauce. Overall we enjoyed the taste and went back again, for lunch, after a few months and ordered pretty much the same entrees and enjoyed the taste all over again. Over all we enjoyed the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for good service and great food. I just had some awesome Sichuan at Cafe Q, where the food was just right on with flavors without any additional seasoning/chili sauce from my side which earned them a 5 star from me. So i'm rating Liu Fu at 4.

The service was incredibly slow. It's Chinese food, it shouldn't take 35 minutes to get rice and chicken. The chef was heavy handed with the salt, which is the lazy way to make food taste good. The food was ok, but not worth the slow service.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had, certainly in Johns Creek. Waited over 55 minutes for entrees (Soup came in about 10 minutes- it was only fair). Had much difficulty finding staff to inquire. No apologies, just excuses. Food finally arrive; one dish was hot, one ice-cold. (Took home to microwave). As we left, owner/staff member inquired if everything was satisfactory. As politely as possible I answered"no it was not", assuming he might ask about problem. He replied, "okay", nodded and walked away. Language problem or just plain WEIRD?!

I saw a Scout Mob for this restaurant and noticed that they had Szechuan Hot Boiled Fish and Szechuan Mapo Tofu, so immediately my interest was peaked. I enjoy Szechuan style cooking because of the spicy, yet addictive nature to it. Honestly, I went in with high expectations. Before I talk about the food, let me share a bit about the restaurant. The restaurant itself is very nice. The design and craftsmanship of the furniture and layout is conversation friendly and cool. Definitely an impressive spot to bring people you want to impress. Now on to the food. I ordered the Szechuan Hot Boiled Fish and the Mapo Tofu. I have to say, it was alright. The fish tasted a bit bland and it wasn't that spicy and the Mapo Tofu was decent. Also I wish that the rice was less sticky? I don't know if that's the right word to use, but I think the rice was over cooked so it seemed mushy and it wasn't really good for mixing up the sauces together with the rice. I gave the place 3 stars because it does taste good. Although my review is pretty negative, I did enjoy the meal and the service was great. I think if the restaurant tweaked some little things, it'd be a stellar restaurant. To my understanding, the restaurant is new. :D

I have visited Liu Fu a total of 5-6 times and here's what i have to say about my experience PROS: 1. The interior is spectacular, gorgeous tables, chairs, chandeliers. 2. Many of the entree's are quite good, many i have enjoyed from my childhood, i have enjoyed here. 3. Most staff are quite pleasing, attentive when needed, and not annoying CONS: 1. There tables to the right as you walk on a higher plat form, the couches against the wall are fine however the tables just to the left of them are too small to seat four people, it should seat 2 max. Also there is a light next to the table that is quite too big, the bulb it self might not be big but the glass lamp shades cover about 1/4 of the tables(should get those removed out for smaller shades). 2. Everytime i order something out of the ordinary the food goes down hill. For an appetizer i ordered ship dumplings, those came out 10mins after everyone finished their meal. The shrimp dumplings had no taste of shrimp, the shrimp and the skin of the dumpling crumbled inside my mouth, the taste was mediocre. 3. THIS SHOULD BE #1, the highest priced entree from what i have seen is the scallop's, it costs over $18 with tax, when these were served i was shocked, they inflated because they soaked up so much water, there was even water on the plate, i don't know what happened here but even i know that scallops should cooked/served ANYTHIng to do with water, the scallops were overcooked, very rubbery , and to make it worse had no taste very bland 4. Of the two times i went in the fish tank in the middle of the serving area was dirty, lost my appetite. 5. I once went in on a busy day and it looked like they were quite understaffed, waited to 4-5mins per request, i know for a fact this is not the servers problem , it is management, or whoever makes the schedule. 6. Inside it is beautiful but i personally wish it was brighter, seemed a little just a little too dim. ALargeCon: 1. I have seen the waiters/chefs smoke inside the restaurant during down time

Restaurant had a nice setting to it. It seemed pretty busy for a chinese restaurant on a Friday night. It prolly was because it was still fairly new. Place seems short-staffed. Wait was short but service was pretty bad due to them being short-staffed. Waiter forgot our white steam rice and it took 45 min for us to get our food. Food was pretty good. I recommend their Spicy Crispy Chicken or Shrimp. Since this is their signature dishes. Price was alittle pricey but it was like an independent PF Chang with alittle better authentic chinese food. There was several chinese people dining in so thats when you know the food is good. Usually you get all non-asian people dining in at chinese restaurants, and thats when you know its usually americanized chinese food. Hopefully their service is better next time.

I have eaten here two times already (today and a week ago). I must say that food here is excellent as well as the service. The atmosphere here is spacious and clean. The first time that I have eaten here, I have ordered the Happy Family. I came back here for the second time today and I ordered their Pad Thai. I loved them both. The food here is absolutely flavorful and delicious. Also, the prices are excellent. The wait staff are friendly, courteous, and prompt as well. The location is excellent as well. I will definitely come back here again.

No, it's not 4 stars, it's 3.5 stars, but very promising. We went to Liu Fu after a dear lady in our church asked if a group of us minded having her birthday lunch there after Sunday services. 22 of us showed up, occupied three round tables, and watched as the staff tried very hard to play catch up. This is the new location for the old China Gate that used to be in Chamblee Plaza. I ordered Baby Bok Choy with Mushrooms and Vegetable Fried Rice. Very nice presentation, and very tasty. I'll have to go back for some Mango Chicken and a few other dishes before I settle on a full 4.

As an ABC, living in atl for 15 years, i haven't found that many great chinese restaurants. especially since i'm from LA. i would have to say this is by far the best Chinese restaurant it gets. first of all, you know its a nicer restaurant as you pull into the parking lot. its not next to some kroger or nail shop. its a free standing building. It has an asian feel as soon as you walk into the place. What i like best is i can have a variety of chinese foods. you can either order authentic chinese food, or the american style, and i enjoy both. the lunch there was great. taste great. clean, filling, and quick. Dinner on weekends are busy. the wait isn't too long. maybe 10-15 mins. i found if u get their a little earlier or later, might be quicker. The price is good. It won't break your bank. Well worth the food and service. Its also a great place to take a date. Wont be too expensive and its fancy enough for any dates, meetings or party. If anything, you gotta try this place at least once. I promise you won't go to any other chinese restaurant afterwards.

Ok, so waitress (guess who?) service was indeed mediocre at best during my virgin meal at this nicely decorated establishment. And, 3/6 of the dishes we wanted to order were out of stock ... Huh? I think it's because they were more Chinese items and this place definitely caters more to mom-Chinese customers. We had to think of new items to order while the aforementioned waitress just stood there without even the slightest clue of offering any suggestions. Sigh. Two of the boss men made their rounds to the table while one actually saw that we were finished with our meal and began clearing the table...yup, that waitress never bothered to show up again until pay time. Needless to say, we had to flag down random waitstaff for refills, etc. Was it busy when we were there? No. It was just a lack of professional service. But, the food deserves 4 stars. Just deal with the service.

Have been here before and the one thing that is consistent is the lack of service. We had to track down the server to have them take our order. Waited another ten minutes after that to get tea and water. We went in for a quick lunch but it took us well over an hour and a half. The food is just average.

Service was great... Food was bland.. Expected more spice to the General Tso's chicken and there were no vegetables in it. Not sure if we will be back.

Food is okay in someways. It's kinda mixture of all kinds of chinese food. Decoration is beautiful. But service is extremely bad. That had horrible service attitude. Bed impression as a guest. Need to be improved.

Food is 4 stars, service can be spotty so a 3 starts overall. Love their fried rice - tastes thai. Can't go wrong with hot boiled fish, mango shrimp, egg drop soup and salt and pepper calamari.

5 stars.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions.
