This is the heaviest chinese food i ever had and i am saying it both according to amount of food and price of food. As a fan of chinese food and was unable to eat one full fried rice at a go and spicy mix was too hot to handle. Taste was okay and egg rolls tasted good. Place looks big and neat. Heavy gluten and having so much amount of food at a time is not so good for your health.

Been going to this place for years. Great hot tea! amazinggg hot & sour soup (how I can usually tell if my meal to follow will be good)! Egg rolls are huge & yummy. My aunt got the Mongolian Beef...really, really good! I got Beef with Vegetables and it was good. Everything tasted fresh right down to the "crispies" - which were not greasy like other places. Sooo good! Another hidden gem.

My husband and I tried this place for lunch while visiting the area. Just happened to be the first Chinese place that came up on yelp. Boy am I glad it was. Though the decor is lacking the tastiness is not. First we were pleased with the hot tea and the "crispies" followed by the delicious soup. My husbands hot and sour was flavorful and my won ton soup had a rich broth. For our meal we ordered General tsu and Mongolian chicken (our safe dishes) and we were both extremely pleased. My husband especially enjoyed the fried rice as it was seasoned well. We ate for under $18 and very pleased and full. We're already thinking of reasons to return to the area.

I mean this place is great. My coworker brought me here for lunch and I was blown away at the price, portion, and how tasty it was. Their tea is fantastic too! If you order a fried rice entree you get to choose either chicken wing or egg roll.

I come here for lunch probably once every two weeks. For two reasons, 1) Literally three minutes away from my company 2) They have incredible hot & sour soup. Literally the best I've ever had. They also have a pretty decent lunch menu for under $10. I'm never that excited about any of their lunch dishes besides the soup because I'm about 80% sure that they literally use the same exact sauce on everything. Not that there's many options in Americanized Chinese food but literally. The chicken and broccoli, the sesame chicken, the general tso's chicken. All in the exact same sauce with different vegetables, seeds or nuts mixed in. The Crab Rangoons ( called crab Angles) are amazing here. I also have a slightly problematic addition to fried things with hot cream cheese in the center, so take it with a grain of salt.

Our place to go for a Mapo tofu and a general chicken. We order the plate as extra crispy on general chicken and extra spicy on mapo tofu. We always end up coming here for those two dishes as they reign supereme over other places. Granted their service could definitely improve, its not as bad comprised to the other places I've been to. The lunch combo price is a blast! We are very likely to recommend this venue to our friends.

Great service!!! We ordered 15 boxes to-go for my brother's birthday, and the order was spot on! They got everything perfect, and the food was very fresh and delicious! They even included 2 large boxes to carry everything, and threw in a few extra egg rolls and wings (and oranges!!!). This is some of the best Chinese you can get for the money in the area. We will definitely be returning!

Eh...not impressed. I didnt expect magic. I just wanted some comforting Americanized Chinese. I got the cashew chicken and my hubby got kung pao chicken. Both dishes appeared exactly the same and in the same sauce. The kung pao had peanuts and my dish had cashews. However, the sauce and veggies were exactly the same in a mediocre brown sauce. The interior is dated. The service was ok.

Not sure how the Italian pasta firmness concept of 'aldente' applies to Chinese noodles, but based the Ho Fun (stir fried rice noodles) dish, I'd say, not much. The noodles were spiced well, but the were soft and mushy. The beef had that squishy mystery meat "poached" quality. The egg roll was burned but inexplicably soggy in the middle. The tea was pale and weak. The people, however, were friendly.

Best Chinese food in town!! I have been going here since I was a kid and even though I now live in Lawrenceville/lilburn area I will drive to get take out from here at least twice a month. The food is fresh ingredients with large portions and it's worth every penny. Don't ever change. Try the pork lo mein, egg rolls, shrimp with vegetables, wonton soup, hot and sour soup, beef with broccoli and soooo much more!!!

For $8 you get entree, rice, egg roll, and soup. May not look too fancy from the outside but they keep the inside very clean and the food is amazing. The people here are also really nice and fast.

Pretty good across the board, more like 3.5 stars though. I went for lunch and played it safe with the mandarin chicken. The egg roll was a bit oily but had good flavor, I think it may have been homemade. The fried rice and egg drop soup were pretty standard. I love that they serve hot tea with your meal, its a simple touch but they get bonus points for it. Overall I'd come back and recommend this place.

I absolutely love the food. I typically eat have lunch here. I enjoy the tea and fried noodles that are served with every meal. I recently ordered the Sesame Chicken and the Chicken and Mushroom both with steamed white rice. Food is served hot and fast. There are many regulars. Staff is not as friendly as they could be when entering but the food makes up for this. The lunch combo comes with a entre, soup, fried chicken wing or egg roll (has pork in it) and your choice of steamed white rice or fried rice. Hot tea and water is standard with the meal. The meal is enough for two servings. I always end up going home with half of my meal. This is a hidden gem!

Great food and always freshly made. The best we have found in Atlanta. We moved to Cumming but still drive down to Emerald China. Haven't found a dish we didn't like.

First time using pick-up service. Food was distrusting. Egg rolls soaked in grease. Pupu platter over fried and tasteless. Ribs included, old and greasy. Best item was the steamed gummy rice. Beef on the stick greasy and hard on the tips. Broccoli & chicken was decent. Customers Please check how old reviews are, cooks may have changed or business changed hands.

Just found this restaurant on a recent jaunt. It's not in my neck of the woods, but I will make a point to visit when I can. Had the lunch, and the portion was very generous. Love Almond (not fried) chicken and theirs is made with white meat (a plus that I usually have to request and pay for). The wonton soup and egg roll were tasty as well. I am picky about my Chinese, and I really enjoyed the food here. My kids had the chicken fried rice and gave a 2 thumbs up.

This is a hidden gem. I am a regular here and they are prompt and the ingredients are fresh. true Chinese service. Don't expect 4 star service, it is a local family restaurant! Best Chinese ever!

Best Chinese place around! Very friendly staff. Very quick when picking up orders. Have never been told more than 10-15 minutes at any time. Have only eaten inside a few times, as we mostly order pick up, but the service was great. The crab angels are our favorite! Can't go wrong with anything really and their prices are reasonable. Only downside is that they don't deliver.

Service: I was greeted by an unfriendly host. Server was as friendly as an angry spouse. I sat down and before looking through the menu, there was sticky stuff on the menu...ewww! Food: I ordered Szechuan Fish. The fish was fried in some batter, but was rubbery, kinda like what you would get if you froze a McDonald's chicken nugget then defrosted in a microwave followed by a trip to the Wok. This thin resemblance of a fish was served on a mountain of vegetables, mostly celery dripping in oil. Value: And all this for $14.00 And they don't take Amex. Decor: Tacky.

My wife and I have been in this restaurant for lunch several times. The prices are fair. We enjoy the 'shrimp in lobster sauce'. We had tried their beefs serving in various styles, in several occasions. Their beefs are very good. Soft and juicy. We have fire chicken wings as a side, for free. Not bad. The owners are Vietnamese grown up Chinese, speaking fluent Cantonese but so-so Mandarin. We speak both dialects. We consider them friendly. I don't know why some other reviewers comment on their serving manner. Considering a $7 ~ $8 lunch in the busy intersection of Peachtree Industrial Blvd and Pleasant Hill, this is a good place. Talking about closed-by Chinese restaurant, there are not now many. Oh! There is another Chinese restaurant a few blocks away called Chinese Kitchen II (3585 Peachtree Industrial Blvd, #104, Duluth GA 30096 678-294-9847). Chinese Kitchen is obviously not as good as Emerald, definitely.

I've been to Emerald China a few times for lunch, since it's close to my office. The service is fast, and while the servers may not be the most smiley bunch, they certainly aren't rude. I tend to make a few alterations to my lunch and they always get it right. For the price, I think you get a decent amount of food. The dishes aren't great culinary creations, but if you're looking for a solid, American-Chinese place that is quick and efficient over a lunch break, Emerald China is a great choice.

This is one of my go-to American-Chinese restaurants. I go here for lunch sometimes, and although not everyone has a fake smile and an outgoing greeting the house vegetable deluxe is fantastic. The hot and sour soup is also very, very good. The egg rolls leave something to be desired. In a city with so many mediocre Chinese take-out restaurants, this place stands out.

This is my default take-out place. Everything is of a consistent quality you can count on. If you call in your order it will be ready by the time you get there - when they say "ready in 10 minutes" they are not exaggerating. I always get their hot and sour soup which has has chunks of chicken in it, tastes very fresh and its just sour enough not to pucker your right up. This is by far their best dish. If you are a chili head like me you'll want to get a little one ounce container of that chili oil to mix in with the soup because its not quite hot enough for my three mile chicken wing sauce loving tongue. My toddler loves the egg drop soup here, she will finish a service all by herself. Main dishes that stand out are the house special fried rice, the pork ribs, salted squid, plum pork, general chungs chicken, and mongolian beef (a bit on the sweet side but still great). None of their dishes are spicy and they always forget to include chili oil so be sure to ask for it when you check out. They should also give you oranges, tea bags, cookies and generous portions of fresh rice. The lo mein are good, but not great, try some of the other varieties of noodles. Don't bother with the crab angles, they're pretty ordinary, but try the crispy egg rolls, and the pot stickers are tasty.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
