Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I would never recommend this restaurant. The service is good, the young male waiter was nice, but the decor was terrible. It feels like a very bare room. The food does not help either. The wonton soup given at the being was tastless and I found a little piece of plastic in my wonton! Not joking, unfortunately :( Next, the pork fried rice again had no taste, and felt like it came from a freezer. The lo mein also felt like it was some frozen meal noodles and they were covered in some nasty soy sauce inconsistently placed on top. My only positive on the food was the honey garlic chicken wasn't too bad. It was like satisfactory take-out. My other positive is that the dinner entree comes with free ice cream! Yummmm... Too bad I just had one of the worst Chinese food experiences that I can remember.

Service was good, lots of Food for the money, and the General Tso's Chicken was fresh and very tasty !! Would definitely come back...

This place is horrible!! We have been ordering delivery from here for a long time and it was usually pretty good. However, last nite we decided to dine in for the first and LAST time. The place had an odor inside and I thought it was kind of strange that no customers were there at 7pm. We sat down and ordered soup which was a tad salty but ok. Then, he brings us the moo goo pan dish and it was so bland. I mean no taste at all, not even salt!! The pork fried rice was also bland and not one piece of pork. Not joking!!! Even the hot tea was horrible and the best part of the meal was what they didn't cook "the fortune cookie". Just terrible and left feeling so dissatisfied that we will never be back here! I don't know how they stay open with no clientele, bad food, and bad reviews.

Most disgusting Chinese food I've ever had the displeasure of eating. Everything I ordered was terrible. The lo-mein was drenched in sauce, the fried rice was cold, and the wonton soup had plastic in it. Also, the decorations are outdated & uninviting. I would not recommend coming here.

Give them a try. We think it is pretty good chinese food. We always order take-out or delivery , so I can't comment on the wait staff service. The delivery service is great, always prompt and the food is piping hot. We usually order the House Special Fried Rice and LoMein with one or two meat dishes. The dishes that call for white meat chicken are made with real chicken breast. The veggies are fresh and crisp. The fried items, like wontons and rangoon are freshly fried.

This used to be our favorite Chinese Restaurant. Ate there today and was totally disappointed. Immediately noticed it was under new management by all the obvious changes; decor tacky [a string of gold tinsel was scotched taped to the wall, a meager dish of broken noodles was served, soup bowls & plates were noticeably smaller, and so were the portions and worst of all the taste of the food was off from the Tea, to the soup and entrees. They only good thing was the Ice Cream included in the before. 7pm dinner. The silverware was so cheap I could barely pick up my food. I could overlook some things if only they kept the Chef!!! How terrible to ruin a neighborhood favorite.

Takes me back to NYC, particularly to an old-style Chinese restaurant favored by my grandparents and parents. If you want a nostalgic Chinese restaurant, this is the palce. Also, I have found that the servers were particularly polite.

This is "old style" Chinese - BUT very tasty. The decor is faded and the clientele is early Bird Tamarac for sure : often accompanied by their "attendants". However, the food is actually very good I only do take out or delivery so that is what I will write about. One bad thing : when you get a "combo" it does NOT include soup - just an egg roll and a "chicken strip" or something - not great I do usually add the egg drop soup which is absolutely delicious - very rich and the best I have had really. Bottom Line....the food itself is actually very good. I like the Moo Goo Gai Pan (yeah old school) Fresh well cooked white meat chicken, large mushrooms, excellent sauce. I also like the Shrimp with Lobster sauce - large tasty shrimps, firm and cooked expertly. The beef dishes are also good - most of the other local Chinese offer beef that tastes like "steak -um" anymore haha. No I would not want to eat in here - faded pink decor from the 80's...but apparently many do - they line up for Early Birds haha. I am not fromm New York but those who are say this is "like home". Bottom line : for good "old fashioned" Chinese food that actually tastes good you might consider Pagoda for take out or delivery Make sure you speak to the "daughter" whose English is good.

Worse Chinese Resturant I've ever been too. Too expensive for what they serve. 15$ for 2 appetizer sized meals. There's nothing New York about this Chinese food other than the hustle!!! At least cut the boneless ribs n add a little sauce.

I thought I'd give them a try with something real simple/basic: Pork Fried Rice, it was beyond bland, with just 2 or 3 little bits of pork, total disappointment.

Stopped here while visiting the parents. It was truly awful. No taste, no seasoning, greasy - and they said this was the best in the area!

My family's been ordering Chinese food from Pagoda since I was a kid, so I know this place very well. The food was always of good quality and the staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered delivery more than dined in, but the restaurant is nice and clean and one of the few Chinese places that's more than just a takeout joint. You'll see a big senior crowd here on any given night, here for their big outing early bird dinner. Kind of cute. Now, it seems like every time we get food from here, the portion sizes have been cut and the prices have risen. Don't get me wrong - I fully understand that times are tough and food prices have gone up everywhere so something has to give. I don't mind paying a higher price to keep the meal like it used to be, in fact, I expect it. But, if you're going to raise prices from $1-2 more AND cut back on what you're serving, then that's too much for a loyal customer to take. The chicken for the sweet and sour or honey garlic chicken now comes in a container that's half the size of what it used to be. The pork foo young entree used to be 3 pieces, now it's just 2 skimpily sized ones. Even the egg rolls have shrunk in size and are now mainly filler. For the price and portions, it's just not worth it anymore. Sorry Pagoda, I'm broadening my horizons and taking my business to other Chinese places for better value.

This place is great! The dining room is quiet and the seating is ample. All of the servers are kind and efficient. The food is delicious and there are always leftovers. The prices are always reasonable and the portions are generous.

Wow... Service at this place is horrible. Food is decent bit there are so many other local Chinese places that have better service that I would skip out on this one all together. We went on a Sunday night when it was a bit busy but they couldn't handle it. We waited an hour to get refills on water... Yes an hour. Then they accidentally threw out our leftover food instead of boxing it up. And the last straw was when we told them we had to leave and wanted to place our dessert order and the manager told me that I had to be patient. I was patient after an hour and fifteen minutes but that's it. Truste me if u r looking for Chinese food in the tamarac area, there are better places than this. Would never go back!
