I should have read the "Not Recommended" reviews first. Gotta say a positive was staff was really friendly -and i got service chop chop at high noon lunch rush. Roast pork special wasnt, bout chipped a tooth on piece of pork but the mashed and gravy were pretty good and greens I liked. Could have sanded a floor and scoured the tub with the cornbread. Worst thing though- I sat at counter and had misfortune of noticing view into kitchen every time door swung open. disgusting dirty with meat sitting out on table etc.. I like sausage even knowing how its made but had i seen this view before ordering I would have walked out.

It is so hard to find a decent place for breakfast in this area. This is superb! Biscuits are excellent eggs cooked right, the ham has a wonderful smoked flavor & the home fries are light and tasty. We will come back!!!

Homestyle country cooking as advertised. The fried chicken is cooked to order and it was delicious! Sides are also homemade and thus was evident in the mashed potatoes and gravy. Had green beans as a second side and they were good too. Solid meal all around. Nice service and very friendly. It is good food in a small town and not expensive but delicious. If you are expecting a gourmet dinner from an elegant New York bistro, you're not only in the wrong place but you're expectations are unrealistic. Go here and enjoy the food and warmth!

Best little restaurant in town. Good food and friendly folk. Try the peanut butter pie, it is the best. If you like home cookin', this is the place. You think you are at Grandma's. Everything we have eaten was good. You may want to share a meal because you get plenty.

Yuk. That said, we do have a restricted diet: no meat, nothing fried. Which left the tuna plate. Bad. Bad fries, canned peaches. Should have packed a rice cake

Best little restaurant in Northern Florida! Clean, friendly and very reasonable! We always stop here for a great choice of country cooking and hospitality! Well worth the stop when traveling on 301 in Stark, Florida!

This place will make you wait for a table until all the locals have been seated, no matter how much earlier than them you got here. They do not want new customers or visitors or tourists and there are several GOOD restaurants in Starke that want your business. Go somewhere else, advise everyone you know to stay away.

A real greasy spoon and I mean that as a positive. Filled with locals and waitresses with "attitude". Liver and onions outstanding as was the deep fried pork chop. The menu as some local favorites chicken livers and chicken gizzards. The prices are a fantastic value. Maybe not the fanciest or cleanest but the food quality and value makes it a repeat stop.

I stopped here today because I did not want to eat at one of the chain restaurants. I don't like "down home southern style" cooking like grits or gizzards. I opted for a burger, which was very good, and it came with fries and they were VERY good. And the coffee I ordered was fresh. Service came with a smile, and was prompt. I would eat here again. They had all you can eat fried chicken today and it looked good, too bad I had already had fried chicken 2 days in a row!

My wife and I dined here again recently. I had gizzards and she has chicken livers....absolutely some of the best in the area....great food once again along with great service! We look forward to dining at your establishment, each and every time....

Stopped in off 301 starving , and had the best breakfast ! Not the best decor, but great food and service.

Country comes to town here. We decided to try someplace other than IHOP for breakfast. It was okay but I got the impression that all the locals and old timers get preferential treatment here. When Henry, Emma, Sam and Tom entered the place, a great big hello greeted them, first name and all. Stands to reason they take care of their regulars, but not at the expense of newbies. Too bad the Southern hospitality doesn't extend to everyone. Maybe they thought we were from the city. LOL! As for the food; two eggs over easy, hash browns and a biscuit. The LDC asked for a veggie omelet. Ehhhh!, it was so so. I was expecting something country, it was standard city fare. We like IHOP better.
