I've been coming here for years the food has always really good. Though this trip it seam to me they may be starting to penny pinch the food was still great. The only draw back to the restaurant experience that I have grown accustomed is pretty bad service. Though it was better than normal this visit and the waiter let us know he was new so excuse him if he made any mistakes so maybe the front of the house is getting their act together! Will see and the service has never stopped me from coming back so try it out!

Our family has made this Tex-Mex restaurant a regular stop on our trips to LBK. We have found the food to be consistently well prepared and tasty. Portion sizes are reasonable and the whole menu is very fairly priced. The staff is friendly and efficient .

This was the recurring theme of the evening. 2nd round was just as slow should have ordered when the first round showed up. Table next to us waited over 45 mins for food and got up to leave but the manager convinced them to stay. Even the manager seemed behind the eight ball. The food was okay. Nothing to make me come back. Find somewhere else to go.

We looked this place up while visiting Sarasota via sailboat. Our server Jillian was fantastic and had knowledge of the menu and made suggestions. We ate Steak Fajitas and had guacamole that was made table side! Well worth your time to go. For two of us with two margaritas and two sangria's it was only $50. Highly recommend!

Went tonight with my husband, son and in-laws. I had the vegitarian combo plate, Hubby had steak fajitas, FIL had shredded beef chimichanga, MIL had steak tacos. All of us LOVED our food. We ordered a carafe of sangria that was obviously fresh and delicious.Before our food we were served chips and very fresh tasting salsa. After ordering my MIL went to smoke a cigarette, our food got there before she finished! Talk about fast service. The only thing I kind of regret is canceling my order of guacamole salad. The table next to us go it and they brought out a cart full of ingredients to the table side and made it fresh right there. I used to live in Sarasota and vaguely remembered this place, and I am so glad I went back.

From the service to the food it was all horrible! Taco Bell has better food than this place. Even the manager had no clue. We waited almost 15 minutes just to put in our food order. We ordered white queso cheese it was was not cheese. This tasted like sour cream and cream cheese slop, gross! The meals came out quickly, I had soup, my daughter a chimichanga and my husband a steak quesadilla with a side of rice. My soup was bland and Luke warm, my daughter ordered steak in her chimi, she got hamburger, apparently they don't know how to substitute meat in a dish, my husband didn't get his rice until about 10 minutes after he was finished with his meal. The manager did remove the "cheese" from the bill, but any decent manager would have removed more than that due to the poor service and all the waiting and mistakes. Will NEVER go back!

So-so at best. I ate here a couple of years ago and, although it is a very beautiful interior, the food was just not good, so I never went back. Then, last night, I was with a group of friends and they all wanted to go there so I figured, what the heck, how bad could it be? Well, once again the food was just so-so, our waitress was sour and kind of pissed-off the whole time, and two of the people at the table got nachos that were so salty they had to send them back! So, once again, a truly mediocre meal, and, once again, I won't be going back... ever! You can do much better for Mexican food in Sarasota. My personal favorite in the area is Mi Pueblo, but YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) as they say!

What a Huge Disappointment! My wife and I moved to Sarasota last year and have been nothing but impressed with the variety and quality of restaurants in Sarasota. One of our favorites is Selva Grill, next door to Two Senoritas. She and I have often commented on how the location, decor and ambiance seemed inviting and that we should try Two Senoritas. So on Thursday, my wife made reservations for 8 of us which included some friends who had been there before. When we arrived at 7:00 PM, the manager and troll of a hostess claimed to have NO reservation and abruptly stated that they DO NOT take reservations but "preferred seating" and that they could "find us" a table. Ok, whatever lady, thanks for the warm welcome. So we headed to meet a friend of ours at the bar who arrived early. We were soon seated at a deep booth and those of us who did not get drinks at the bar ordered a round from the waitress. About 25 minutes later, as everyone finished their drinks from the bar, those of us who had ordered drinks from our table still did not have ours. We asked about our drinks and a frantic & frustrated waitress said she would check on them. After a bit of confusion at the bar, we got the glass of wine and the worst "Top Shelf" Margarita I have ever had in my life. It was watery, bitter and had been sitting a while as the salt had slid down the glass. When I asked the waitress to take it back, she looked at me like I was from Mars but then admitted that someone may have grabbed my Margarita and I may have been given the wrong one. She apologized and returned to the bar. There seemed to be a meeting at the bar with a woman manager and about 4-5 staff. There was hand ringing and head shaking and 15 minutes later, I got a very average Margarita. I sucked it up and we put in our food order about 40 minutes after arrival! Of course, everyone was ready for another round of drinks by then which we also ordered. So once things got under way, the "table-side Guacamole" was made for us. It was Ok, but they put the Guacamole on top of a bed of salad which just sticks to the guacamole and becomes a mess...oh, and by the way, they are not alowed to salt the Guacamole....house policy! LOL! We then got the other round of drinks that had been ordered 15 minutes before, but by now everyone was done with this experience. One of our friends commented that this restaurant used to be "on the ball" years ago and they used to enjoy coming here. Ih his words, "man, they have slipped!" During all of this time, the manager was walking around and was well aware of the issues we were having, and never came to our table to offer her apologies. Finally, we told the waitress to cancel our order and that we wanted to pay for the drinks and leave. She apologized and said that she had been there for years and things were getting worse not better and she was used to it...and that is from the server mind you! Our wives headed out to get us a table at Classico's a few doors down and they were accosted by the troll of a hostess outside and accused of trying to skip out on the bill while we fellas were standing at the table waiting on the bill! Freeking Incredible. As we walked out, the female Manager gave us a pathetic, 'Sorry Guys"! And I asked her to save it. So here's the take away folks, they pay big time rent for that location and they have made a significant investment in the build out. They have ecreated an atmosphere for success. But it seems that they are very complacent and very poorly managed. The staff is smug, frustrated, tense and/or untrained. Their bar space, which is very tight is not inviting and only had about 5 people at it on a Friday night! The bartenders just can't get drinks out quickly? Granted, the restaurant was hopping, but I noticed drinks were often empty and people were always looking around for staff and refills. That means money being left on the table. Obviously Two Senoritas is slipping and I would not waste your money there. With all the other great choices in Sarasota for a good night out, go somewhere where you are appreciated. They obviously do not care anymore! PS, as we walked past Selva Grill next door, Bob Newhart was having dinner outside...I love that guy!

Not great Mexican food, but it is okay. The queso was just runny cheese you would get at the ballpark. I did have the Taxco and it was good. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas with Patron (which came in a carafe) and they tasted just like the regular ones, we couldn't taste the tequila at all just the mix . Then we got a big surprise when the bill came and the carafe of margaritas cost $52. What a RIP OFF! We will not be coming back because of that.

Stopped in here when we were in sarasota for the day. THe ambience and the service were awesome. THe place was super clean and felt new. Frozen margaritas and margarita/sangria mix was good. THe food was great and we got a decent amount for or money. THe food didn't seem like authentic mexican, but more american mexican if that makes sense. This is they type of food usually people prefer. I would stop in again if I was in the area.

I have to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt because we came here on Cinco de Mayo, probably the busiest day of the year for them. We got there relatively early, around 5:30 pm, since we knew there would be a wait. The hostess told us it would be about 25-30 minutes which didn't seem bad since we could enjoy some of their margaritas in the interim. After about 40 minutes had gone by and we were still waiting to be sat, we checked with the hostess and she said we would be seated soon. Another 10 minutes passed and we were still waiting. When we checked again with the hostess, she looked at our name on the list and said we were next. But when, 15 more minutes went by, and we saw more and more people get sat before us, we knew that we had been skipped. Annoyed at this point, we again asked the hostess and explained what was going on and she finally sat our party. Once we were sat at our table, our experience was great! The service was wonderful, the food was delicious and the drinks were yummy! You must try the Coconut Margarita! The atmosphere is fun and loud and prices are reasonable, except they charge $1.00 for sides of sour cream and guacamole. I would come back here again if craving ever some Mexican food.

Ask for limes and squeeze those over the chips and add extra salt. Then sit back and pretend you're in Mexico City.

We just got back from Siesta beach and we were all in a great mood and hungry. We ordered drinks and it was a mixed result. My mojito was watered down with one leaf of mint, too little ice, and tasted like sprite. My wife enjoyed her piña colada served with honey and roasted coconut on the rim. I asked for a new mojito and it came back with more syrup, still watery but with two leaves of mint. Our server did not bother to ask if I wanted another drink. The food came out quickly but surprisingly it was all luke warm, despite the warm plates. I think they had these dishes sitting there on warm plates waiting for someone to order them. We all agreed the food was lacking in taste and was not prepared correctly (we are from southern California and know what Mexican should taste like). Our 'fajitas' came on the side of our plate not on a sizzling skillet and the veggies consisted of onions alone. No bell peppers or anything else. The burrito one of us ordered came with beef and nothing else on it, despite the name: super burrito. We may have complained but our server was not attentive enough to ask us about our food. She did not offer to bring water or ask if everything was okay. In fact she did not even bother to bring the bill. Not all was bad the jalapeño stuffer appetizer was great and hot (temp, not spicy). The decor is also great. Spend your money elsewhere and you won't leave disappointed and in a foul mood.

Back to visit the grandparents! Always a good time because it usually means going to great places for dinner! True enough this time as well! Went to Two Senoritas on Friday for some birthday grub for my grandfather. As busy as it was downtown as well as inside the restaurant, we were seated right away which was nice. I noticed on an easel chalkboard as we walked in that fajitas were on special for the night at $8.95! Score! So the grandmother got chicken, I got steak and the grandfather just got a cheese enchilda, go figure! Our food was out far faster than I expected: before we could even finish our first bowl of chips! Fat girls love when this happens, you know? Fajitas were bomb! There was a ridiculous amount of food and I ate nearly all of it! Woot! My steak was a lot better than her chicken so Im glad that I ordered it. Im a fan of red meat...I wont lie! My pop wasnt happy with his enchilada because it apparently wasnt melted all the way through. We told him to send it back but apparently it wasnt that bad. And of course, for dessert, we had sopapillas. You just cannot leave without those! Their fluffy, steaming hot, cinnamon sugar goodness dipped in whipped cream is just to die for. I'm sort of used to Americanized Mexican food served Northeast-style (meaning not in an authentic way), and usually in [ahem] a fast-food setting. Two Senoritas presents a great experience (although a little cheesy) in a really nice setting. The restaurant itself is a bit reminiscent of a DIsney World ride to me as it is decorated in a sort of an over-the-top authentic way that resembles a Mexican hacienda. Not that that's a bad thing, but I just found it funny since I'm not used to that sort of thing. The food itself is actually very good. I had the Carne Asada which was a flat steak served with rice & beans, guacamole, a couple of tacos and all the other side accompaniments one would expect. My friend had the Tacos al Pastor which looked very authentic and she said they were excellent. When you're seated, you're given a huge basket of fresh tortilla chips and hot salsa which is nice too. For dessert we had the fried ice cream, and I'd say that's the only thing I wouldn't recommend since the coating was a little hard/chewy for my expectation of fried ice cream. Even the margarita was great and the service was fast and friendly. There are a few Mexican places in Sarasota, but I'd recommend this one as one of the nicer ones and would definitely look forward to going back.

Two Señoritas is one of my favorite spots when visiting Sarasota by boat. We dock at Marina Jack, and it's just a short walk up main street. The atmosphere is a bit high scale, with nice decorations and furniture. The service has always been outstanding. And the food is delicious. On the authenticity scale I'd say it 6/10, which is to say above average. (Taco Bell being a 1/10). My wife is a fan of the fajitas (pretty much what she orders at every Mexican restaurant we go). Me, I am a big fan of their combo plates that combine an enchilada, a taco, a chalupa, or any one of 1000 combinations (they have pick three combinations). I found the cuisine one notch above Estela's, on par with Miguel's. Would I drive from Tampa to Sarasota just to eat here? Heck no! But if I'm in Sarasota I'm stopping here for my Mexican fix. I'm a fan!

Been here once a year for several years. Love the place. Best Mexican food I get all year. Seriously. The Chili Rellano is terrific. With raisins and cheese and sauces and ground beef filling. And it was huge. Order it without the rice etc. we shared several entees at our table and all were excellent. Drinks were great and price amazingly reasonable. I went on a slow night with a party of 8. I had heard good things about Two Senoritas, and since I love mexican food, was happy that it was chosen by my group for dinner that night. I had the fish tacos which were just OK. I'm not a big eater by any means, and usually enjoy smaller to mid sized meals that are well balanced with quality ingredients. There wasn't much fish in the fish tacos, mostly cabbage with just a tiny portion of fish. The fish that was present was small bits (kinda like what you would see coming from a can of tuna) not a fillet of any sorts. Any how, service was decent, bathrooms were dirty. No single person in my group was impressed with their meal. Everyone said it was just mediocre. I'll keep looking for better Mex when I'm here visiting.

I love it when guacamole comes thick and meaty, packed with pieces of avocado. Two Senioritas really delivered on that one, and even gave us a spare bowl by accident. Delicious. The queso dip was nothing to write home about, not terrible but not fantastic either. At least the queso was in a bowl bigger than my face? For my meal, I went with a plate that included two chicken enchiladas, a chicken taco, and refried beans with rice. I can't stand refried beans so I won't touch on that, but I can safely say that these were some of the better enchiladas I've had in a long time. It was nice that they didn't come in the typical red sauce, instead topped with a sour cream-based concoction that was tangy and cool at the same time. It blended well with the seasonings and cheese in the dish. Bueno! The chicken taco was good, though the enchilada was the stand out star of the show. Sounds like I didn't miss much by avoiding a drink here, so I'm glad I saved my money for the guac over the margarita!

Good queso, guacamole & loved the sopapilla. As for Mexican food, it was good...not TexMex though, more of a traditional Mexican style of preparation. They had excellent service, were quick to accomodate a friend who wasn't happy with her meal and it had a great atmostphere. I like Two Senoritas but will say I have had a few issues. One was something fell out of the air vent above us onto my food (but hey is that really their fault?) then they started to charge a takeout fee. I get that they have to use containers but I am walking over and picking up my own food and eating out of Styrofoam. First the charge was like $2.50 but this time only 50 cents so not sure how that works. Oh well, minor issue. I love their chips and salsa and I usually get the Taxco. Always have to have a crunchy taco. Never had an issue with the Margarita; I think they are fine. Also, I find the interior fine and don't think it's outdated; but then I don't like ultra modern for a Mexican Restaurants. Our servers have always been great and friendly.

I have worked at an authentic Mexican restaurant for more than five years in the past so my standards are really high for Mexican food. That said this place really rocks! I do have a few small complaints... - They had a sign on the door for waitresses help wanted, and they needed it. It looked like chaos as the few waitress tried to handle all the customer flow - The rice is a little bland. -Queso dip is also bland. Chips and salsa to start! The refried beans are great! The water quality is great! Salsa is nice and mildly spicy.The service was accommodating! The prices are quite reasonable. No matter what you get I recommend you grab the Fiesta Platter as an appetizer...so many tastes and they are all great!

I would rate this place between a 3 and a 4 but my omnivore friend loved it so I bumped it up! There are few veg dishes here, but my server was able to direct me to them. Best of all, they're open late on a Sunday night, when most of downtown is dead. The decor is really nice, and food is pretty decent. Rice & refried are not vegetarian but the fajita was downright delicious and made up for the reduced options. The margaritas were really good, though... which is why I can't tell you much about the place. I do remember that restrooms (multi-seaters) were clean but located a bit of a walk from where we were sitting. They probably weren't that far away, and that's the just margarita talking. Did I mention that I liked the margaritas a lot?

Last year my fiance and I went on a day trip in Sarasota. One night I wanted Mexican food, and he was craving seafood. So, we decided that a good compromise would be fish tacos for him at a traditional Mexican restaurant. So we poured over the reviews - there did not seem to be many outstanding Mexican restaurants in Sarasota - and decided on Two Senoritas in downtown Sarasota. The website looked nice, and especially the photos of the restaurant. So we made our way over around 7pm. The service was pretty good - our waiter could have been more enthused. I ordered a strawberry margarita along with the enchiladas chipotle entree. My boyfriend ordered the special: blackened grouper tacos, in order to satisfy his seafood craving. We ate chips with salsa while we waited for our meals. My plate came piping hot with a side of beans, rice, and two good-sized chicken-stuffed enchiladas topped with a creamy white chipotle sauce, which was excellent. I usually stray from meat at restaurants, so this was a big step for me, and I was not disappointed. My boyfriend's dish was satisfying, but he could have stood for more fish - the cooks very much skimped on the amount of fish served. Very disappointing, as far as that was concerned. Overall, the atmosphere was wonderful, but I felt the food to be somewhat unauthentic. I was also surprised that my mediocre margarita, both in size and taste, rang in at $7. Wasn't worth $7 to me! Total tab for two people - two entrees, one alcoholic beverage and one soda, $30.
Not very good...service was friendly but brought me the wrong meal twice (and I ordered something directly from the menu - no changes/substitutions). My cheese enchiladas were okay (the tortillas were a bit crunchy - stale?) and my boyfriend didn't care for his steak fajitas. The chips and salsa were pretty average, too. We would not go back.

It's nice to sit by the sidewalk yet still inside the restaurant especially on a nice day. they open it up to let the natural sunlight and people watching relax patrons while dining here the chips and salsa come free and like any decent mexican restaurant they are pretty good. no problems getting a refill either. i ordered the chicken and spinach quesadilla which comes with guacamole and sour cream. oh and i also order margherita (2) and those hit the spot. I do like it here. it's solid. the service is good, the food is good, the 'rita is good. solid 3 stars is my rating.

Lived here for 12 years and never have anything great here. It's ok for a margarita hop in and maybe an app but not much more. It's a tourist spot...there are uh better places to go to for Mexican food.

Haven't been here for several years but skipped lunch and went for an early dinner around 5:30. My wife ordered the shredded beef chimichanga which she seemed to enjoy; I ordered the carne asada which is listed as "chargrilled choice sirloin steak seasoned for the flavor of old Mexico." I can only guess that the steak in Old Mexico is the consistency of shoe leather. This was one tough piece of meat that demanded mastication and real teeth not dentures. To wash the meal down we had a couple of house Margaritas which were a bit too cloying for my taste. I don't see a return trip. The meal was quite reasonable coming in under 40 dollars for the two of us.

I've missed truly good Mexican food since moving to Florida from Chicago. So when my husband said that he wanted to take me here because he thought I'd love it, I couldn't wait. We brought my sister and brother-in-law with us to check the place out. I was thrilled. I love the laid back, casual atmosphere and the attentiveness of the entire staff. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The fresh guacamole made table side was a nice touch, and even my picky husband gave it a try....and loved it. It was tasty with just the right amount of bite. And the FLAN..... A flavor explosion in your mouth! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone, and guarantee that I'll be back.

In the past this place was great for lunch but tonight the worse service I have ever had. The bartender took forever to even acknowledge we were there then made a comment about Angie shirt which the pre Jc peter martin would have kicked ass all over the Resturant. Then the 10 minutes for a table ran into 30 minutes when I finally said something we were seated. The. 10 minutes later a waiter stopped by and took our order: The issue I have is that it is Friday night and how can you run a business and not properly staff the place there were at least 6 to 10 empty tables that needed to be bussed. Very disappointed so far. The food was great but the service is horrible if you can put up with terrible service and want great Mexican give this place a try. Ok now if you follow me you know that I am on target. We ordered sopopias over 15 minutes ago. We are talking fried dough with honey and sugar and it is still not here. Really what is going on tonight. I will never come back and suggest you avoid this place as well.

This restaurant is a cookie-cutter copy of so many other Mexican restaurants, with standard fajitas, adequate marguerites, refried beans, orange rice, and chips & salsa indistinguishable from their competition. The furnishings in the restaurant a middle-of-the road Mexican restaurant supply-house stuff ... this is the kind of Mexican food you expect in a mall. But that faint praise aside, we enjoyed our meal there. The staff was helpful, the food was exactly what you'd expect from looking into the restaurant from the doorway, and the prices were reasonable. If someone wanted to go there, I'd join them (and enjoy it), but I wouldn't go back by my own choice.

The frozen margaritas here are muy delicioso! This is some of the best Mexican food I've found in Florida since moving here. The carne asada was pretty good but the enchiladas were awesome! The fajitas are yummy and enough for 2 to split. It is true that you can ask for the hot salsa from the back. The servers are also very friendly. The prices are reasonable as well!

The place looks very nice and stylish. The service and food not as much. Standard chips and nothing to write home about salsa. I asked for salsa verde but they didn't have any. The beer XX could have been a lot colder but at least I was offered a chilled mug. I agree it is pricy probably due to location. The tortillas in the combo were insufficient and not wrapped.

Once again I have experienced another bad Mexican restaurant in Sarasota. Since moving here nearly 3 years ago, I have yet to find any good Mexican food in Sarasota. It's really sad since it's my favorite cuisine. The service at Two Senoritas is pretty bad. Our waitress barely spoke English, so we actually asked our Spanish speaking friend to talk to her in Spanish for us. She still screwed up the order, twice! My bloody mary had tomato pulp floating in it. The salsa tastes like spiced up ketchup. The queso was exactly like Campbell's Cheese Soup. We're pretty sure that's what it was. The fajita meat had a gray hue to it. I refused to eat it. It was scarey. The only good items that I tasted was a plain cheese enchilada and a beef taco. My wife and I had one adult beverage each and two entrees. Our bill was over $50. It is off season here, but at 7:30 on a Saturday night, the place was empty and Main Street was bustling. How this place stays in business is beyond me. I have come to the conclusion that Sarasota is the polar opposite of a foodie town.

I can understand the bad reviews of the service because I think they're understaffed but our waiter had a good attitude with a smile and tried his best to make sure we had a good time. To manage expectations here, pretend you are ordering food at a small airport somewhere in the Midwest: the service is friendly and the drinks are fine, but the food is unabashedly bad and overpriced. With the exception of the chips, the food here is lowest-common-denominator Tex-Mex, and all but the most desperate of people fleeing their relatives will be disappointed.

I've been here quite a few times and the food is always consistently great. On my most recent visit, I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. The fish were very well seasoned and the toppings were fresh. Their salsa is always delicious. Although we decided to order their queso for an appetizer and it wasn't anything special - just basic melted cheese. We were expecting something a little more flavorful with some spice to it. The restaurant itself is very well decorated. The atmosphere is nice and the service is usually okay, but during our most recent visit during lunch hours, the service was lacking. Our server wasn't very attentive and he accidentally messed up my drink order. Hopefully it was just an off day. I'm only deducting one star for this reason - otherwise the food is pretty good.

My boyfriend and I visited Sarasota for the first time and happened to be in the area and in the mood for a good margarita.... Well, that is not what we got. Although we only got their overpriced house margarita in a plastic cup, it should not have tasted like just sweet and sour mix. We couldn't even finish our drinks they were so disgusting. The chips and salsa were atrocious as well. The chips tasted old and the salsa was all tomato paste. It seemed like I was eating bland Italian food instead of Mexican. There were absolutely no spices what-so-ever. Due to the drink, I decided to just order a salad, literally terrified of what their actual entrees would taste like. The salad was actually pretty good. There were diverse vegetables and the dressing was healthy and flavorful (lite vinegarette I believe). My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos and was utterly underwhelmed. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because our servers were very attentive. This place is overpriced and delivers a substandard product. The restaurant is definitely a tourist trap and I will definitely forfeit convenience over quality when I visit the area again. Seriously, I do hope this place steps it up because who doesn't like a good cantina? Otherwise, any other place in the area would probably be better. Needless to say I will not be returning when I decide to visit Sarasota again.

This is the WORST restaurant I have been to in Sarasota. It took 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. When he arrived at the table it was as if we were doing him a disservice by being there. The Tortilla soup was awful. The nachos were luke warm at best. The fajitas were okay. No hot sauces anywhere. Nothing Mexican about the place except the decor, which was filthy. Lights were out. The table was sticky. The restroom was clean, I will give them that. I hardly ever give a bad review but it was that bad of an experience. Don't Go!

On vacation during Cinco de Mayo in Sarasota, FL. You would think the downtown Mexican restaurants would have their act together. We decided to chance it and not call ahead, walked in and was sat right away. Bonus points considering it was a holiday. It was downhill from there. I don't want to spend any more time about this place so I can quickly forget it, so I'll bullet the pros and cons. Con: Waiter forgot 3 drinks and had to remind him a couple times. Con: Margaritas were heavy on the sour mix and light on the tequila. Con: Tortilla soup was not good, tasted like Cambell's chicken noodle soup with tortilla strips on top. Queso was watery and no flavor. Salsa was watery but ok flavor. Guacamole was made at table and kept asking what we wanted in it and after tasting it, realized there was no salt or pepper and had to add our own. Nachos were warm at best and the cheese was overpowering. Friend described it as biting into a cheese sponge. Con: Brought out 1 wrong entree (the meat was wrong, she wanted chicken and they brought shrimp) my friend was polite and told the waiter that she wanted chicken but would eat the shrimp so he wouldn't have to take it back to the kitchen. Con: He brought the checks because we wanted to get the hell out of there as to not ruin our Cinco de Mayo. Remember the friend with the mixed up entree? He charged the extra $3 for the shrimp that my friend didn't want but she ate to save him time and work. That put me over the edge, I asked for the manager after he said he couldn't take the charge off without manager approval. Manager came over after about 10mins and asking the waiter AGAIN. She didn't introduce herself, just showed up and looked annoyed. I told her about our experience and she was indifferent. Her apology was far from genuine and told us to come back and she would take care of us. Well considering I didn't list any pros, we will not waste any more of our vacation on this disappointment. Stay clear! There has to be better places nearby!

I went with a group to this place for dinner and was unpleasantly dissatisfied with the food here. They had a decent selection, including some vegetarian options for me, but when my veggie quesadilla arrived WITHOUT CHEESE (queso means cheese in Spanish for crying out loud) I realized that I was in the wrong place for some good Mexican. Also, their price for a quesadilla was higher than most places I've been to before and those other places included cheese in their quesadillas. The chips and salsa were ok. A couple of other people in our group noted the less than delicious levels of their entrees as well. At least no one got food poisoning here, which is always a plus, but not the way you want to remember a dining experience. Try somewhere else when in this area is my advice.

Enjoyed a delicious meal here before a show at the Van Wezel Center. Upscale (collared shirt preferred) yet laid back atmosphere - we received multiple orders of house margaritas, a chimichanga, and enchiladas. Our water glasses were never less than half full and service was attentive and plentiful. Awesome place - will definitely be back!

After eating at Two Senoritas twice and really enjoying it, we decided to use it as our venue for our rehearsal dinner. I was skeptical at first from the reviews I read but they totally nailed it. We had a party of 25 people and they set us up in a private area near the back of the restaurant. They created custom menus for us complete with our names and rehearsal dinner date, guest seating cards, and were very flexible and accommodating to our budget. All the food was delicious with fresh ingredients (I highly recommend the chipotle shrimp, I think I'll forever have a craving for that dish!) and our service was great, couldn't have asked for a better place to host our rehearsal dinner!

Yikes! Worst part of our vacation so far! Hostess looked like a meth addict, and for some reason was confused through our meeting. I wanted to order a beer and the bar was under construction. I asked about margaritas and our waiter said they only had 1.99 margaritas. Bet those are just lovely. Took 10 minutes for a water and by that time my wife and I simply walked out. Yikes! Stay far away!

Expensive and rushed. Came here with my family of 4. Although we were not in a hurry, we were in and out in 48 minutes. As soon as we sat, waitress rushed us for drink orders. then, rushed us to order. Then, she asked me 4 different times if I was done with my food. I should mention that the restaurant was not even half-full so people were not waiting for our table. Guacamole portion (which was an upcharge) was very small. Grande margaritas were anything but grande. The glass was tiny. At $8.25 per drink, I wasn't amused. The waitress said that the price was because of the premium liquor. I didn't taste any liquor at all. I guess I should have asked the price before ordering but because we were rushed to order, I didn't. Food is ordinary at best. As an example, fajitas come with cheddar cheese, not Mexican cheese. My husband tipped well despite the bad service because he is nice but this restaurant really needs to learn how to serve Mexican food in a relaxed, welcoming manner.

Deserves 3.5 stars. I say that a lot...I guess I've been to lots of slightly above average restaurants. I think the people giving Two Senioritas only 1 or 2 stars aren't being fair. Is this the best Mexican restaurant ever? No, of course not, but its definitely above average. Came here on a Saturday night, kinda late, so the restaurant was pretty empty. Girlfriend and I really enjoyed their salsa - I don't know if its made in house or from a jar, but it was good (watch it be Tostitos brand or something and make everyone question my taste). Anyway, like any good Mexican restaurant, they offered unlimited chips and salsa, which was problematic because we wolfed it down. I don't recall exactly what my girlfriend got, but I got fajitas. Although I've lived in Sarasota for a total of 6 years, I had only been here for dinner once before (for margaritas one or two other times), but I didn't remember that dinner so I went with the ole' reliable fajita. Gotta say, some of the best fajitas I've had in a while. Not as good as some places, but I really enjoyed them. Spicy and tasty. We weren't drinking that night, so I can't comment on their margaritas. Service was quick and attentive - probably helped that it was late and there were only a few tables, but who cares, service was great. Value was reasonable - I think we spent like $28 on two entrees - so perhaps a bit pricier then you'd expect from Mexican, but I'm not sure about that since we don't go out for it too often and besides, this was downtown Sarasota where everything is overpriced. So like I said, I'm not entirely sure what the 1 and 2 star people are talking about. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed our meal, and will probably be back. Two Senioritas is worth you checking out.

There was definitely good and bad about this restaurant. I'm going to put aside my affinity for traditional Mexican food after I warn you that this is not it. Once I let go of that expectation, I did enjoy the food. We arrived unexpectedly with a party of 9. They were able to accommodate us quickly and politely by sitting us at two tables they'd moved together. The first half of us were there sooner, and promptly ordered a table side guacamole appetizer. The second half of the party arrived with the guac cart, and the waitress scurried off to get their beverages before starting our appetizer, leaving us to stare at the avocados and mixings, stomach growling, for a lot longer than it should have taken to retrieve a few waters. When the guacamole did get around, there was only enough for the first few people to get any real amount, the rest of us only had a bite. This was disappointing because she had recommended that dish for a group of our size. The margaritas and sangria were both very good, although there didn't seem to be any value to getting a carafe over individual glasses. $25 for a carafe of either one is high. On the other hand, we were served a glass of tequila when we asked for a shot, so at least we got our money's worth there! My entree was very good. I had an avocado stuffed with crab meat and shrimp, which was excellent. The tacos, enchiladas, and other more traditional Mexican dishes from the rest of the table looked okay, but nothing spectacular. Two of the lights above our heads kept turning on and off, one and then the other, and then both at the same time, leaving our half of the table in the dark. The waitress apologetically explained that the wiring in the building is quite strange, and there really wasn't anything she could do. The margaritas helped upgrade that peculiarity from annoying to amusing. All in all, it was ok. I'm not raving though, and would probably look for an alternative if I am ever back in the area.

As a die hard tex-mex fan living in Sarasota, I'll take good enchiladas where I can. 2 Senoritas has always been relatively good until they changed management (about a year ago) and poor reviews regarding food quality and service lead many of my friends & family to stop going. Today I decided my craving for enchiladas had to be seized so we went for lunch and I got the 3 pick your own combo platter to try out a few diff types o enchiladas: cheese, shredded beef and the chicken. The cheese enchilada was AWESOME: perfectly gooey, melted and smothered in chili ranchero sauce; the shredded beef had great flavor but was a little on the dry side- had they maybe sauced the meat up a bit before rolling it into the tortilla I think it would've been tastier; the chicken was all together too dry and stuffed so tightly into the tortilla that I had to use my knife just to cut a bite. Rice has carrots and peas (weird combo) and refried beans seemed to have come right out of the can. Sangria was tasty but nothing special (maybe from mix?). Service for lunch was quick and pleasant. Recommend the cheese enchiladas!

Gracias to Two Senoritas! I was in town for work and had about 30 minutes before a big exit meeting. We were working right off Main street and decidedly need someplace quick. As soon as we walked into the festively decorated Two Senoritas, I informed the host that we were in a hurry. He told us not to worry, that they could more than accommodate our request. They definitely did! I give Two Senoritas 4 stars for their impeccable service. And to follow, a solid 3.5 for their food: We were promptly provided chips and salsa, as well as a menu. I must say they have good lunch options. I chose to go with the taco dinner, which isn't on the lunch menu anyway. It's 3 tacos served with rice and beans. My co-worker ordered the lunch quesadilla. We both thought the quality of food was great, and it was brought out to us in less than 8 minutes (which was quoted by our waiter). We both thought from a service perspective, Two Senoritas really brought it to the table. They were aware of our needs and certainly catered. I definitely appreciate that anywhere I go. Would I go back just to have a leisurely dinner? Heck yes.

We're always so disappointed in the service or the gfood at local mexican places but we keep searching. THis place was not bad! The servers were friendly and spoke english so there were no miscommunication issues.They have a happy hour for domestic beers and basic maragaritas but I went with the Grande margarita which is made with higher quality ingredients and was delicious!! (contrary to previous poster it is made clear this is NOT on happy hour specials) Started with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is mild so order hot if you want spicy. Tried the guacamole which was good, freshly made, perfect amount of lime and cliantro. Hubby had the Tacos el pastor, ($10.75) marinated pork tacos with grilled pineapple, cilantro and a semi spicy green sauce, they were very good! I had the enchiladas chipotle ($10.25) described as being covered in a creamy zesty chipotle sauce. Well, it was creamy, not zesty, but good. I asked for some mole sauce on the side for my take home leftovers to see if it could help, it wasnt very good either. Very bland, definitely americanized. For the area it is in I think the food here was quite good. This is a tourist area so they need to please all palates. I understand that, but I wish they'd offer an option, Gringo or Authentic. I'd come back. The food was good, service good, margarita and tequila choice, very good!

I wish there were a 4 1/2 star button. This is the first time I went there and I will be back. Trish was our waitress who also made my VERY yummy Coconut Margarita - oh my gosh You HAVE to get this. It's better than a Pina Colada because you get all the flavor and none of the over sweetness. The glass is rimmed with honey and toasted coconut. Really one of the best drinks I have had. I ordered chicken enchilada and it was delicious. My husband ordered the shredded beef enchilada and said he liked mine better. The chips and salsa are really good. The chips are served warm. You will not go away hungry or disappointed. The atmosphere is really pretty. As I write this I am craving to go back.

This was our first time here. We were seated right away. The restaurant has a nice old world feel to it. The margaritas were great. For an adventure, try the coconut margarita. For the main course, I had shrimp tacos. With mango & pineapple, it had a unique sweetness to it, very good. My wife had carne asada. The meat was not marinaded. I thought the meat was a little tough. It did meet our standard. For dessert, we has sopapillas. This is a bread baked with cinnamon, then has honey drizzled on it, outstanding. Our server was Ciera. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and kept things moving right along.

Well, I read the reviews and went anyway. I was surprised to find that Dawn D's review ended up being spot on. I ordered a diet coke first. It tasted like no other diet coke I've ever tried. Really an odd flavor. I don't know whether to attribute that to the local water (which smells like sulpher) or what, but it was strange. The server said that she has heard that before and offered me something else. I ordered the chicken burrito. It came with a cheese sauce on top that really didn't taste like any kind of Mexican queso or white queso you've ever had. More like the nacho cheese that comes out of a pump at a gas station. The chicken inside was extremely dry, overdone, and tough. The worst part though, was that everything had a "fishy" taste to it -- just like Dawn described! I ate about a third of it and then gave up. Thankfully the server was kind enough to give us a discount so I wasn't stuck paying full price for it, but unfortunately I can not recommend this restaurant. This was our last night in Sarasota so it's disappointing to end the trip on such a sour note. Stay away from this one.

Absolutely Not. I am sorry, I dont give poor reviews, but people should know and so should these two senioritas. The service was poor, the waiter seemed confused, forgot items, and had unneccessary charges on our bill for extra condiments, and larger portions that we didnt order. The food was lousy, fish tacos were a joke. The food was flavorless, something a mexican joint should have no issues with since the culture of the food is strong spicy bold flavors. There are SOOOO many wonderful spots in Sarasota. Try many of the others. A waste of $60, for a light fare dinner.

Ate here during Chalk Festival and kept meaning to write a review. We ate here 4 years ago (ish) and didn't like it, but I didn't remember why. I was in the mood for Mexican food while downtown and decided to give it another try. BIG MISTAKE. Their doors were propped open and birds were flying in and out and landing on tables in the restaurant. I'm not a big bird fan and have to think this is questionable as far as restaurant sanitation policies go. Chips and salsa were delivered to the table after a lengthy wait, even though there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. I've had better chips from a bag from the grocery, but the salsa was fresh and flavorful. Everything I ate/drank except the mediocre chips/salsa tasted like fish. In a bad way. FISHY fish. I ordered fish tacos, based on the menus description of "made with fresh fish" (tilapia). I've had fish tacos from several places in Sarasota that boast "made with fresh fish" and they've always been excellent. Not these. They had a very strong fishy smell and taste that I associate with NOT FRESH fish. The meal was served with beans that were mediocre and Mexican fried rice that was dry, and...TASTED LIKE FISH. Even the water that they served tasted fishy, so I ordered iced tea. It tasted weirdly fishy as well. I ate 2 bites of my fish tacos and absolutely couldn't finish them. When the waitress finally returned, she asked if I wanted a box. When I told her that I didn't care for the dish and that it tasted like bad fish, she acted annoyed and like I was crazy/unreasonable. She whisked away my plate, and I hoped to not be charged or for a visit from a manager. No such luck. She simply rudely brought back my bill, I forked over $14 for food I didn't eat, and vowed to never return. There are so many excellent places to eat downtown! Try any of them EXCEPT this one.

Gross, gross, gross! Had the carne asada! What a joke! For almost $ 14.00 I had the worst steak I've ever had. It was tough, thin, overcooked and had that refrigerator taste. Margaritas are mediocre. Mi Pueblo is probably the closest to American Mexican cuisine. Guerrero's Bakery is not bad for some authentic dishes like posole and menudo.

You've got to be kidding me! Reading through the reviews of this place is frustrating. First of all, the fact that your food comes out in less than 8 minutes is NOT good. It is nothing to brag about. You got premade (hours and hours in advance) and microwaved, incredibly unfresh "food." Any kitchen with a real chef know that things should be made to order!!! If your plate is burning hot that's because it's been premade and siting under heat lamps all night. Service can be good or bad, it all depends. Drinks have never been very good for me, and you can trust me because I've tried this place several times. This is not authentic, nowhere near it. If you like Mi Pueblo you will like this place. If you like a more authentic Mexican experience you should go to Two AMIGOS. Its on 4th street or somewhere around there. The staff speaks very little English and I consider that a good thing. (Sorry they won't have decor from Pier 1.)

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I've been coming here for years the food has always really good. Though this trip it seam to me they may be starting to penny pinch the food was still great. The only draw back to the restaurant experience that I have grown accustomed is pretty bad service. Though it was better than normal this visit and the waiter let us know he was new so excuse him if he made any mistakes so maybe the front of the house is getting their act together! Will see and the service has never stopped me from coming back so try it out!

Our family has made this Tex-Mex restaurant a regular stop on our trips to LBK. We have found the food to be consistently well prepared and tasty. Portion sizes are reasonable and the whole menu is very fairly priced. The staff is friendly and efficient .

Slow slow slow....ordered drinks and waited about 10 minutes before we got our drinks. This was the recurring theme of the evening. 2nd round was just as slow should have ordered when the first round showed up. Table next to us waited over 45 mins for food and got up to leave but the manager convinced them to stay. Even the manager seemed behind the eight ball. The food was okay. Nothing to make me come back. Find somewhere else to go.

We looked this place up while visiting Sarasota via sailboat. Our server Jillian was fantastic and had knowledge of the menu and made suggestions. We ate Steak Fajitas and had guacamole that was made table side! Well worth your time to go. For two of us with two margaritas and two sangria's it was only $50. Highly recommend!

Went tonight with my husband, son and in-laws. I had the vegitarian combo plate, Hubby had steak fajitas, FIL had shredded beef chimichanga, MIL had steak tacos. All of us LOVED our food. We ordered a carafe of sangria that was obviously fresh and delicious.Before our food we were served chips and very fresh tasting salsa. After ordering my MIL went to smoke a cigarette, our food got there before she finished! Talk about fast service. The only thing I kind of regret is canceling my order of guacamole salad. The table next to us go it and they brought out a cart full of ingredients to the table side and made it fresh right there. I used to live in Sarasota and vaguely remembered this place, and I am so glad I went back.

Well, let's just say this was at best mediocre, Gucamole salad was two mini scooped of nearly tasteless avocado that was looking old. Service was very good, but was first served wrong entrees,wishing Rococos Tacos was here instead. Ordered the super burrito, which was ok.

Yummy Guacamole, decent salsa and chips. Quesadilla was just ok. Decor was fun. I could imagine Cinco de Mayo being a blast here. Prices were more than fair. Deserts looked tasty but I didn't try any. I'll be back to try some other items on the menu that looked enticing!

From the service to the food it was all horrible! Taco Bell has better food than this place. Even the manager had no clue. We waited almost 15 minutes just to put in our food order. We ordered white queso cheese it was was not cheese. This tasted like sour cream and cream cheese slop, gross! The meals came out quickly, I had soup, my daughter a chimichanga and my husband a steak quesadilla with a side of rice. My soup was bland and Luke warm, my daughter ordered steak in her chimi, she got hamburger, apparently they don't know how to substitute meat in a dish, my husband didn't get his rice until about 10 minutes after he was finished with his meal. The manager did remove the "cheese" from the bill, but any decent manager would have removed more than that due to the poor service and all the waiting and mistakes. Will NEVER go back!

So-so at best. I ate here a couple of years ago and, although it is a very beautiful interior, the food was just not good, so I never went back. Then, last night, I was with a group of friends and they all wanted to go there so I figured, what the heck, how bad could it be? Well, once again the food was just so-so, our waitress was sour and kind of pissed-off the whole time, and two of the people at the table got nachos that were so salty they had to send them back! So, once again, a truly mediocre meal, and, once again, I won't be going back... ever! You can do much better for Mexican food in Sarasota. My personal favorite in the area is Mi Pueblo, but YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary) as they say!

What a Huge Disappointment! My wife and I moved to Sarasota last year and have been nothing but impressed with the variety and quality of restaurants in Sarasota. One of our favorites is Selva Grill, next door to Two Senoritas. She and I have often commented on how the location, decor and ambiance seemed inviting and that we should try Two Senoritas. So on Thursday, my wife made reservations for 8 of us which included some friends who had been there before. When we arrived at 7:00 PM, the manager and troll of a hostess claimed to have NO reservation and abruptly stated that they DO NOT take reservations but "preferred seating" and that they could "find us" a table. Ok, whatever lady, thanks for the warm welcome. So we headed to meet a friend of ours at the bar who arrived early. We were soon seated at a deep booth and those of us who did not get drinks at the bar ordered a round from the waitress. About 25 minutes later, as everyone finished their drinks from the bar, those of us who had ordered drinks from our table still did not have ours. We asked about our drinks and a frantic & frustrated waitress said she would check on them. After a bit of confusion at the bar, we got the glass of wine and the worst "Top Shelf" Margarita I have ever had in my life. It was watery, bitter and had been sitting a while as the salt had slid down the glass. When I asked the waitress to take it back, she looked at me like I was from Mars but then admitted that someone may have grabbed my Margarita and I may have been given the wrong one. She apologized and returned to the bar. There seemed to be a meeting at the bar with a woman manager and about 4-5 staff. There was hand ringing and head shaking and 15 minutes later, I got a very average Margarita. I sucked it up and we put in our food order about 40 minutes after arrival! Of course, everyone was ready for another round of drinks by then which we also ordered. So once things got under way, the "table-side Guacamole" was made for us. It was Ok, but they put the Guacamole on top of a bed of salad which just sticks to the guacamole and becomes a mess...oh, and by the way, they are not alowed to salt the Guacamole....house policy! LOL! We then got the other round of drinks that had been ordered 15 minutes before, but by now everyone was done with this experience. One of our friends commented that this restaurant used to be "on the ball" years ago and they used to enjoy coming here. Ih his words, "man, they have slipped!" During all of this time, the manager was walking around and was well aware of the issues we were having, and never came to our table to offer her apologies. Finally, we told the waitress to cancel our order and that we wanted to pay for the drinks and leave. She apologized and said that she had been there for years and things were getting worse not better and she was used to it...and that is from the server mind you! Our wives headed out to get us a table at Classico's a few doors down and they were accosted by the troll of a hostess outside and accused of trying to skip out on the bill while we fellas were standing at the table waiting on the bill! Freeking Incredible. As we walked out, the female Manager gave us a pathetic, 'Sorry Guys"! And I asked her to save it. So here's the take away folks, they pay big time rent for that location and they have made a significant investment in the build out. They have ecreated an atmosphere for success. But it seems that they are very complacent and very poorly managed. The staff is smug, frustrated, tense and/or untrained. Their bar space, which is very tight is not inviting and only had about 5 people at it on a Friday night! The bartenders just can't get drinks out quickly? Granted, the restaurant was hopping, but I noticed drinks were often empty and people were always looking around for staff and refills. That means money being left on the table. Obviously Two Senoritas is slipping and I would not waste your money there. With all the other great choices in Sarasota for a good night out, go somewhere where you are appreciated. They obviously do not care anymore! PS, as we walked past Selva Grill next door, Bob Newhart was having dinner outside...I love that guy!

Not great Mexican food, but it is okay. The queso was just runny cheese you would get at the ballpark. I did have the Taxco and it was good. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas with Patron (which came in a carafe) and they tasted just like the regular ones, we couldn't taste the tequila at all just the mix . Then we got a big surprise when the bill came and the carafe of margaritas cost $52. What a RIP OFF! We will not be coming back because of that.

Stopped in here when we were in sarasota for the day. THe ambience and the service were awesome. THe place was super clean and felt new. Frozen margaritas and margarita/sangria mix was good. THe food was great and we got a decent amount for or money. THe food didn't seem like authentic mexican, but more american mexican if that makes sense. This is they type of food usually people prefer. I would stop in again if I was in the area.

I have to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt because we came here on Cinco de Mayo, probably the busiest day of the year for them. We got there relatively early, around 5:30 pm, since we knew there would be a wait. The hostess told us it would be about 25-30 minutes which didn't seem bad since we could enjoy some of their margaritas in the interim. After about 40 minutes had gone by and we were still waiting to be sat, we checked with the hostess and she said we would be seated soon. Another 10 minutes passed and we were still waiting. When we checked again with the hostess, she looked at our name on the list and said we were next. But when, 15 more minutes went by, and we saw more and more people get sat before us, we knew that we had been skipped. Annoyed at this point, we again asked the hostess and explained what was going on and she finally sat our party. Once we were sat at our table, our experience was great! The service was wonderful, the food was delicious and the drinks were yummy! You must try the Coconut Margarita! The atmosphere is fun and loud and prices are reasonable, except they charge $1.00 for sides of sour cream and guacamole. I would come back here again if craving ever some Mexican food.

My father was disappointed when at 6:58pm they wouldn't consider our drinks happy hour price. Oh well. I really can't recommend this restaurant. Go to Mi Pueblo instead.

I dig it, took it for granted when I lived here, but it has a very fun & cool vibe to it. Food is pretty good & reasonably priced. Staff is nice but a lil bush-league, deer-inthe-headlights kinda crew.... it's always like that tho, but it's good. The Misses LOVES this spot, when I bring her to Sarasota, she always wants to hit here for an app at the bar & a cocktail or 3 :-) It makes her happy, so this place is one of our places now here in downtown Sarasota, the very cool atmosphere & decorations to this place is amazing.

Chips and salsa are pretty delish. Also the house margarita is tasty and happy hour is a sweet deal. The food is standard Mexican fare. Stick with chips and dips and nachos and you'll be fine. Ask for limes and squeeze those over the chips and add extra salt. Then sit back and pretend you're in Mexico City.

We just got back from Siesta beach and we were all in a great mood and hungry. We ordered drinks and it was a mixed result. My mojito was watered down with one leaf of mint, too little ice, and tasted like sprite. My wife enjoyed her piña colada served with honey and roasted coconut on the rim. I asked for a new mojito and it came back with more syrup, still watery but with two leaves of mint. Our server did not bother to ask if I wanted another drink. The food came out quickly but surprisingly it was all luke warm, despite the warm plates. I think they had these dishes sitting there on warm plates waiting for someone to order them. We all agreed the food was lacking in taste and was not prepared correctly (we are from southern California and know what Mexican should taste like). Our 'fajitas' came on the side of our plate not on a sizzling skillet and the veggies consisted of onions alone. No bell peppers or anything else. The burrito one of us ordered came with beef and nothing else on it, despite the name: super burrito. We may have complained but our server was not attentive enough to ask us about our food. She did not offer to bring water or ask if everything was okay. In fact she did not even bother to bring the bill. Not all was bad the jalapeño stuffer appetizer was great and hot (temp, not spicy). The decor is also great. Spend your money elsewhere and you won't leave disappointed and in a foul mood.

Back to visit the grandparents! Always a good time because it usually means going to great places for dinner! True enough this time as well! Went to Two Senoritas on Friday for some birthday grub for my grandfather. As busy as it was downtown as well as inside the restaurant, we were seated right away which was nice. I noticed on an easel chalkboard as we walked in that fajitas were on special for the night at $8.95! Score! So the grandmother got chicken, I got steak and the grandfather just got a cheese enchilda, go figure! Our food was out far faster than I expected: before we could even finish our first bowl of chips! Fat girls love when this happens, you know? Fajitas were bomb! There was a ridiculous amount of food and I ate nearly all of it! Woot! My steak was a lot better than her chicken so Im glad that I ordered it. Im a fan of red meat...I wont lie! My pop wasnt happy with his enchilada because it apparently wasnt melted all the way through. We told him to send it back but apparently it wasnt that bad. And of course, for dessert, we had sopapillas. You just cannot leave without those! Their fluffy, steaming hot, cinnamon sugar goodness dipped in whipped cream is just to die for. I'm sort of used to Americanized Mexican food served Northeast-style (meaning not in an authentic way), and usually in [ahem] a fast-food setting. Two Senoritas presents a great experience (although a little cheesy) in a really nice setting. The restaurant itself is a bit reminiscent of a DIsney World ride to me as it is decorated in a sort of an over-the-top authentic way that resembles a Mexican hacienda. Not that that's a bad thing, but I just found it funny since I'm not used to that sort of thing. The food itself is actually very good. I had the Carne Asada which was a flat steak served with rice & beans, guacamole, a couple of tacos and all the other side accompaniments one would expect. My friend had the Tacos al Pastor which looked very authentic and she said they were excellent. When you're seated, you're given a huge basket of fresh tortilla chips and hot salsa which is nice too. For dessert we had the fried ice cream, and I'd say that's the only thing I wouldn't recommend since the coating was a little hard/chewy for my expectation of fried ice cream. Even the margarita was great and the service was fast and friendly. There are a few Mexican places in Sarasota, but I'd recommend this one as one of the nicer ones and would definitely look forward to going back.

Two Señoritas is one of my favorite spots when visiting Sarasota by boat. We dock at Marina Jack, and it's just a short walk up main street. The atmosphere is a bit high scale, with nice decorations and furniture. The service has always been outstanding. And the food is delicious. On the authenticity scale I'd say it 6/10, which is to say above average. (Taco Bell being a 1/10). My wife is a fan of the fajitas (pretty much what she orders at every Mexican restaurant we go). Me, I am a big fan of their combo plates that combine an enchilada, a taco, a chalupa, or any one of 1000 combinations (they have pick three combinations). I found the cuisine one notch above Estela's, on par with Miguel's. Would I drive from Tampa to Sarasota just to eat here? Heck no! But if I'm in Sarasota I'm stopping here for my Mexican fix. I'm a fan!

Been here once a year for several years. Love the place. Best Mexican food I get all year. Seriously. The Chili Rellano is terrific. With raisins and cheese and sauces and ground beef filling. And it was huge. Order it without the rice etc. we shared several entees at our table and all were excellent. Drinks were great and price amazingly reasonable. Even the rest rooms were nice looking and clean. I would eat here once a week if I lived here. Hats off to the fast service as well, we made the circus just in time. Thanks.

Nice looking place. Go look at it and eat somewhere else. I usually rate a mexican restaurant by their salsa, this one was tomato and not much else, not spicy, not fresh, no cilantro, nothing. It tasted like it was from a jar and a cheap one at that. The rest of the food was the same. Like taco bell on plates. I went on a slow night with a party of 8. I had heard good things about Two Senoritas, and since I love mexican food, was happy that it was chosen by my group for dinner that night. I had the fish tacos which were just OK. I'm not a big eater by any means, and usually enjoy smaller to mid sized meals that are well balanced with quality ingredients. There wasn't much fish in the fish tacos, mostly cabbage with just a tiny portion of fish. The fish that was present was small bits (kinda like what you would see coming from a can of tuna) not a fillet of any sorts. Any how, service was decent, bathrooms were dirty. No single person in my group was impressed with their meal. Everyone said it was just mediocre. I'll keep looking for better Mex when I'm here visiting.

I ordered a mushroom quesadilla and received a steak quesadilla. When the correct order arrived it had a total of 3 slices of mushrooms, tons of onion and NO bell pepper as stated on the menu. I love it when guacamole comes thick and meaty, packed with pieces of avocado. Two Senioritas really delivered on that one, and even gave us a spare bowl by accident. Delicious. The queso dip was nothing to write home about, not terrible but not fantastic either. At least the queso was in a bowl bigger than my face? For my meal, I went with a plate that included two chicken enchiladas, a chicken taco, and refried beans with rice. I can't stand refried beans so I won't touch on that, but I can safely say that these were some of the better enchiladas I've had in a long time. It was nice that they didn't come in the typical red sauce, instead topped with a sour cream-based concoction that was tangy and cool at the same time. It blended well with the seasonings and cheese in the dish. Bueno! The chicken taco was good, though the enchilada was the stand out star of the show. Sounds like I didn't miss much by avoiding a drink here, so I'm glad I saved my money for the guac over the margarita!

Good queso, guacamole & loved the sopapilla. As for Mexican food, it was good...not TexMex though, more of a traditional Mexican style of preparation. They had excellent service, were quick to accomodate a friend who wasn't happy with her meal and it had a great atmostphere. Would definitely go back and if the weather was nice, would love a chance to enjoy the sidewalk seating.

I like Two Senoritas but will say I have had a few issues. One was something fell out of the air vent above us onto my food (but hey is that really their fault?) then they started to charge a takeout fee. I get that they have to use containers but I am walking over and picking up my own food and eating out of Styrofoam. First the charge was like $2.50 but this time only 50 cents so not sure how that works. Oh well, minor issue. I love their chips and salsa and I usually get the Taxco. Always have to have a crunchy taco. Never had an issue with the Margarita; I think they are fine. Also, I find the interior fine and don't think it's outdated; but then I don't like ultra modern for a Mexican Restaurants. Our servers have always been great and friendly.

I went there early late last summer. I did enjoy the complimentary chips & salsa with the happy- hour margarita. The bartender was friendly. The food was just okay. I had a taco with shredded beef. And I was charged $3.00 for guacamole. I won't go back anytime soon. It seems like a tourist trap to me.

The bartender acted rude to the point we said we will pay for them just to get more. The owner's photo was on the wall funny seamed to be a nice person. He needs to give the bartender classes on how to treat the public. Will not be back.....

Joe, our waiter, was the epitome of a great server. He came out with enthusiasm and a smile, let us know about the $1.99 margaritas on monday, and from there it only got better. I highly recommend this restaurant, very economical, and I highly recommend Joe and wish him well in Cali.

I have worked at an authentic Mexican restaurant for more than five years in the past so my standards are really high for Mexican food. That said this place really rocks! I do have a few small complaints... - They had a sign on the door for waitresses help wanted, and they needed it. It looked like chaos as the few waitress tried to handle all the customer flow - The rice is a little bland. -Queso dip is also bland. Chips and salsa to start! The refried beans are great! The water quality is great! Salsa is nice and mildly spicy.The service was accommodating! The prices are quite reasonable. No matter what you get I recommend you grab the Fiesta Platter as an appetizer...so many tastes and they are all great!

I would rate this place between a 3 and a 4 but my omnivore friend loved it so I bumped it up! There are few veg dishes here, but my server was able to direct me to them. Best of all, they're open late on a Sunday night, when most of downtown is dead. The decor is really nice, and food is pretty decent. Rice & refried are not vegetarian but the fajita was downright delicious and made up for the reduced options. The margaritas were really good, though... which is why I can't tell you much about the place. I do remember that restrooms (multi-seaters) were clean but located a bit of a walk from where we were sitting. They probably weren't that far away, and that's the just margarita talking. Did I mention that I liked the margaritas a lot?

Run-of-the-mill Mexican food. I had the lunch fajitas and they were average at best. The food is really bland.. At least the prices were cheap. Our server smiled once during the entire meal. I don't plan to return.

Last year my fiance and I went on a day trip in Sarasota. One night I wanted Mexican food, and he was craving seafood. So, we decided that a good compromise would be fish tacos for him at a traditional Mexican restaurant. So we poured over the reviews - there did not seem to be many outstanding Mexican restaurants in Sarasota - and decided on Two Senoritas in downtown Sarasota. The website looked nice, and especially the photos of the restaurant. So we made our way over around 7pm. The service was pretty good - our waiter could have been more enthused. I ordered a strawberry margarita along with the enchiladas chipotle entree. My boyfriend ordered the special: blackened grouper tacos, in order to satisfy his seafood craving. We ate chips with salsa while we waited for our meals. My plate came piping hot with a side of beans, rice, and two good-sized chicken-stuffed enchiladas topped with a creamy white chipotle sauce, which was excellent. I usually stray from meat at restaurants, so this was a big step for me, and I was not disappointed. My boyfriend's dish was satisfying, but he could have stood for more fish - the cooks very much skimped on the amount of fish served. Very disappointing, as far as that was concerned. Overall, the atmosphere was wonderful, but I felt the food to be somewhat unauthentic. I was also surprised that my mediocre margarita, both in size and taste, rang in at $7. Wasn't worth $7 to me! Total tab for two people - two entrees, one alcoholic beverage and one soda, $30.

The margaritas and the chips & salsa are the only memorable items on the menu at Two Senoritas for us, they are very tasty! We have tried over a half dozen times and still nothing seems to be rocking our world, it's just very bland! The décor is very nice & it's great for people watching if you can sit up front by the windows. The service is usually average. It's been awhile since we have been there, maybe things have changed and we can give it another try.

It's nice to sit by the sidewalk yet still inside the restaurant especially on a nice day. they open it up to let the natural sunlight and people watching relax patrons while dining here the chips and salsa come free and like any decent mexican restaurant they are pretty good. no problems getting a refill either. i ordered the chicken and spinach quesadilla which comes with guacamole and sour cream. oh and i also order margherita (2) and those hit the spot. I do like it here. it's solid. the service is good, the food is good, the 'rita is good. solid 3 stars is my rating.

Haven't been here for several years but skipped lunch and went for an early dinner around 5:30. My wife ordered the shredded beef chimichanga which she seemed to enjoy; I ordered the carne asada which is listed as "chargrilled choice sirloin steak seasoned for the flavor of old Mexico." I can only guess that the steak in Old Mexico is the consistency of shoe leather. This was one tough piece of meat that demanded mastication and real teeth not dentures. To wash the meal down we had a couple of house Margaritas which were a bit too cloying for my taste. I don't see a return trip. The meal was quite reasonable coming in under 40 dollars for the two of us.

I've missed truly good Mexican food since moving to Florida from Chicago. So when my husband said that he wanted to take me here because he thought I'd love it, I couldn't wait. We brought my sister and brother-in-law with us to check the place out. I was thrilled. I love the laid back, casual atmosphere and the attentiveness of the entire staff. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The fresh guacamole made table side was a nice touch, and even my picky husband gave it a try....and loved it. It was tasty with just the right amount of bite. And the FLAN..... A flavor explosion in your mouth! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone, and guarantee that I'll be back.

In the past this place was great for lunch but tonight the worse service I have ever had. The bartender took forever to even acknowledge we were there then made a comment about Angie shirt which the pre Jc peter martin would have kicked ass all over the Resturant. Then the 10 minutes for a table ran into 30 minutes when I finally said something we were seated. The. 10 minutes later a waiter stopped by and took our order: The issue I have is that it is Friday night and how can you run a business and not properly staff the place there were at least 6 to 10 empty tables that needed to be bussed. Very disappointed so far. The food was great but the service is horrible if you can put up with terrible service and want great Mexican give this place a try. Ok now if you follow me you know that I am on target. We ordered sopopias over 15 minutes ago. We are talking fried dough with honey and sugar and it is still not here. Really what is going on tonight. I will never come back and suggest you avoid this place as well.

This restaurant is a cookie-cutter copy of so many other Mexican restaurants, with standard fajitas, adequate marguerites, refried beans, orange rice, and chips & salsa indistinguishable from their competition. The furnishings in the restaurant a middle-of-the road Mexican restaurant supply-house stuff ... this is the kind of Mexican food you expect in a mall. But that faint praise aside, we enjoyed our meal there. The staff was helpful, the food was exactly what you'd expect from looking into the restaurant from the doorway, and the prices were reasonable. If someone wanted to go there, I'd join them (and enjoy it), but I wouldn't go back by my own choice.

The frozen margaritas here are muy delicioso! This is some of the best Mexican food I've found in Florida since moving here. The carne asada was pretty good but the enchiladas were awesome! The fajitas are yummy and enough for 2 to split. It is true that you can ask for the hot salsa from the back. The servers are also very friendly. The prices are reasonable as well!

The beer XX could have been a lot colder but at least I was offered a chilled mug. I agree it is pricy probably due to location. The tortillas in the combo were insufficient and not wrapped.

Once again I have experienced another bad Mexican restaurant in Sarasota. Since moving here nearly 3 years ago, I have yet to find any good Mexican food in Sarasota. It's really sad since it's my favorite cuisine. The service at Two Senoritas is pretty bad. Our waitress barely spoke English, so we actually asked our Spanish speaking friend to talk to her in Spanish for us. She still screwed up the order, twice! My bloody mary had tomato pulp floating in it. The salsa tastes like spiced up ketchup. The queso was exactly like Campbell's Cheese Soup. We're pretty sure that's what it was. The fajita meat had a gray hue to it. I refused to eat it. It was scarey. The only good items that I tasted was a plain cheese enchilada and a beef taco. My wife and I had one adult beverage each and two entrees. Our bill was over $50. It is off season here, but at 7:30 on a Saturday night, the place was empty and Main Street was bustling. How this place stays in business is beyond me. I have come to the conclusion that Sarasota is the polar opposite of a foodie town.

To manage expectations here, pretend you are ordering food at a small airport somewhere in the Midwest: the service is friendly and the drinks are fine, but the food is unabashedly bad and overpriced. With the exception of the chips, the food here is lowest-common-denominator Tex-Mex, and all but the most desperate of people fleeing their relatives will be disappointed.

I've been here quite a few times and the food is always consistently great. On my most recent visit, I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. The fish were very well seasoned and the toppings were fresh. Their salsa is always delicious. Although we decided to order their queso for an appetizer and it wasn't anything special - just basic melted cheese. We were expecting something a little more flavorful with some spice to it. The restaurant itself is very well decorated. The atmosphere is nice and the service is usually okay, but during our most recent visit during lunch hours, the service was lacking. Our server wasn't very attentive and he accidentally messed up my drink order. Hopefully it was just an off day. I'm only deducting one star for this reason - otherwise the food is pretty good.

My boyfriend and I visited Sarasota for the first time and happened to be in the area and in the mood for a good margarita.... Well, that is not what we got. Although we only got their overpriced house margarita in a plastic cup, it should not have tasted like just sweet and sour mix. We couldn't even finish our drinks they were so disgusting. The chips and salsa were atrocious as well. The chips tasted old and the salsa was all tomato paste. It seemed like I was eating bland Italian food instead of Mexican. There were absolutely no spices what-so-ever. Due to the drink, I decided to just order a salad, literally terrified of what their actual entrees would taste like. The salad was actually pretty good. There were diverse vegetables and the dressing was healthy and flavorful (lite vinegarette I believe). My boyfriend ordered the fish tacos and was utterly underwhelmed. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because our servers were very attentive. This place is overpriced and delivers a substandard product. The restaurant is definitely a tourist trap and I will definitely forfeit convenience over quality when I visit the area again. Seriously, I do hope this place steps it up because who doesn't like a good cantina? Otherwise, any other place in the area would probably be better. Needless to say I will not be returning when I decide to visit Sarasota again.

This is the WORST restaurant I have been to in Sarasota. It took 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. When he arrived at the table it was as if we were doing him a disservice by being there. The Tortilla soup was awful. The nachos were luke warm at best. The fajitas were okay. No hot sauces anywhere. Nothing Mexican about the place except the decor, which was filthy. Lights were out. The table was sticky. The restroom was clean, I will give them that. I hardly ever give a bad review but it was that bad of an experience. Don't Go!

On vacation during Cinco de Mayo in Sarasota, FL. You would think the downtown Mexican restaurants would have their act together. We decided to chance it and not call ahead, walked in and was sat right away. Bonus points considering it was a holiday. It was downhill from there. I don't want to spend any more time about this place so I can quickly forget it, so I'll bullet the pros and cons. Con: Waiter forgot 3 drinks and had to remind him a couple times. Con: Margaritas were heavy on the sour mix and light on the tequila. Con: Tortilla soup was not good, tasted like Cambell's chicken noodle soup with tortilla strips on top. Queso was watery and no flavor. Salsa was watery but ok flavor. Guacamole was made at table and kept asking what we wanted in it and after tasting it, realized there was no salt or pepper and had to add our own. Nachos were warm at best and the cheese was overpowering. Friend described it as biting into a cheese sponge. Con: Brought out 1 wrong entree (the meat was wrong, she wanted chicken and they brought shrimp) my friend was polite and told the waiter that she wanted chicken but would eat the shrimp so he wouldn't have to take it back to the kitchen. Con: He brought the checks because we wanted to get the hell out of there as to not ruin our Cinco de Mayo. Remember the friend with the mixed up entree? He charged the extra $3 for the shrimp that my friend didn't want but she ate to save him time and work. That put me over the edge, I asked for the manager after he said he couldn't take the charge off without manager approval. Manager came over after about 10mins and asking the waiter AGAIN. She didn't introduce herself, just showed up and looked annoyed. I told her about our experience and she was indifferent. Her apology was far from genuine and told us to come back and she would take care of us. Well considering I didn't list any pros, we will not waste any more of our vacation on this disappointment. Stay clear! There has to be better places nearby!

I went with a group to this place for dinner and was unpleasantly dissatisfied with the food here. They had a decent selection, including some vegetarian options for me, but when my veggie quesadilla arrived WITHOUT CHEESE (queso means cheese in Spanish for crying out loud) I realized that I was in the wrong place for some good Mexican. Also, their price for a quesadilla was higher than most places I've been to before and those other places included cheese in their quesadillas. The chips and salsa were ok. A couple of other people in our group noted the less than delicious levels of their entrees as well. At least no one got food poisoning here, which is always a plus, but not the way you want to remember a dining experience. Try somewhere else when in this area is my advice.

Upscale (collared shirt preferred) yet laid back atmosphere - we received multiple orders of house margaritas, a chimichanga, and enchiladas. After eating at Two Senoritas twice and really enjoying it, we decided to use it as our venue for our rehearsal dinner. I was skeptical at first from the reviews I read but they totally nailed it. We had a party of 25 people and they set us up in a private area near the back of the restaurant. They created custom menus for us complete with our names and rehearsal dinner date, guest seating cards, and were very flexible and accommodating to our budget. All the food was delicious with fresh ingredients (I highly recommend the chipotle shrimp, I think I'll forever have a craving for that dish!) and our service was great, couldn't have asked for a better place to host our rehearsal dinner!

Expensive and rushed. Came here with my family of 4. Although we were not in a hurry, we were in and out in 48 minutes. As soon as we sat, waitress rushed us for drink orders. then, rushed us to order. Then, she asked me 4 different times if I was done with my food. I should mention that the restaurant was not even half-full so people were not waiting for our table. Guacamole portion (which was an upcharge) was very small. Grande margaritas were anything but grande. The glass was tiny. At $8.25 per drink, I wasn't amused. The waitress said that the price was because of the premium liquor. I didn't taste any liquor at all. I guess I should have asked the price before ordering but because we were rushed to order, I didn't. Food is ordinary at best. As an example, fajitas come with cheddar cheese, not Mexican cheese. My husband tipped well despite the bad service because he is nice but this restaurant really needs to learn how to serve Mexican food in a relaxed, welcoming manner.

Deserves 3.5 stars. I say that a lot...I guess I've been to lots of slightly above average restaurants. I think the people giving Two Senioritas only 1 or 2 stars aren't being fair. Is this the best Mexican restaurant ever? No, of course not, but its definitely above average. Came here on a Saturday night, kinda late, so the restaurant was pretty empty. Girlfriend and I really enjoyed their salsa - I don't know if its made in house or from a jar, but it was good (watch it be Tostitos brand or something and make everyone question my taste). Anyway, like any good Mexican restaurant, they offered unlimited chips and salsa, which was problematic because we wolfed it down. I don't recall exactly what my girlfriend got, but I got fajitas. Although I've lived in Sarasota for a total of 6 years, I had only been here for dinner once before (for margaritas one or two other times), but I didn't remember that dinner so I went with the ole' reliable fajita. Gotta say, some of the best fajitas I've had in a while. Not as good as some places, but I really enjoyed them. Spicy and tasty. We weren't drinking that night, so I can't comment on their margaritas. Service was quick and attentive - probably helped that it was late and there were only a few tables, but who cares, service was great. Value was reasonable - I think we spent like $28 on two entrees - so perhaps a bit pricier then you'd expect from Mexican, but I'm not sure about that since we don't go out for it too often and besides, this was downtown Sarasota where everything is overpriced. So like I said, I'm not entirely sure what the 1 and 2 star people are talking about. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed our meal, and will probably be back. Two Senioritas is worth you checking out.

There was definitely good and bad about this restaurant. I'm going to put aside my affinity for traditional Mexican food after I warn you that this is not it. Once I let go of that expectation, I did enjoy the food. We arrived unexpectedly with a party of 9. They were able to accommodate us quickly and politely by sitting us at two tables they'd moved together. The first half of us were there sooner, and promptly ordered a table side guacamole appetizer. The second half of the party arrived with the guac cart, and the waitress scurried off to get their beverages before starting our appetizer, leaving us to stare at the avocados and mixings, stomach growling, for a lot longer than it should have taken to retrieve a few waters. When the guacamole did get around, there was only enough for the first few people to get any real amount, the rest of us only had a bite. This was disappointing because she had recommended that dish for a group of our size. The margaritas and sangria were both very good, although there didn't seem to be any value to getting a carafe over individual glasses. $25 for a carafe of either one is high. On the other hand, we were served a glass of tequila when we asked for a shot, so at least we got our money's worth there! My entree was very good. I had an avocado stuffed with crab meat and shrimp, which was excellent. The tacos, enchiladas, and other more traditional Mexican dishes from the rest of the table looked okay, but nothing spectacular. Two of the lights above our heads kept turning on and off, one and then the other, and then both at the same time, leaving our half of the table in the dark. The waitress apologetically explained that the wiring in the building is quite strange, and there really wasn't anything she could do. The margaritas helped upgrade that peculiarity from annoying to amusing. All in all, it was ok. I'm not raving though, and would probably look for an alternative if I am ever back in the area.

As a die hard tex-mex fan living in Sarasota, I'll take good enchiladas where I can. 2 Senoritas has always been relatively good until they changed management (about a year ago) and poor reviews regarding food quality and service lead many of my friends & family to stop going. Today I decided my craving for enchiladas had to be seized so we went for lunch and I got the 3 pick your own combo platter to try out a few diff types o enchiladas: cheese, shredded beef and the chicken. The cheese enchilada was AWESOME: perfectly gooey, melted and smothered in chili ranchero sauce; the shredded beef had great flavor but was a little on the dry side- had they maybe sauced the meat up a bit before rolling it into the tortilla I think it would've been tastier; the chicken was all together too dry and stuffed so tightly into the tortilla that I had to use my knife just to cut a bite. Rice has carrots and peas (weird combo) and refried beans seemed to have come right out of the can. Sangria was tasty but nothing special (maybe from mix?). Service for lunch was quick and pleasant. Recommend the cheese enchiladas!

Gracias to Two Senoritas! I was in town for work and had about 30 minutes before a big exit meeting. We were working right off Main street and decidedly need someplace quick. As soon as we walked into the festively decorated Two Senoritas, I informed the host that we were in a hurry. He told us not to worry, that they could more than accommodate our request. They definitely did! I give Two Senoritas 4 stars for their impeccable service. And to follow, a solid 3.5 for their food: We were promptly provided chips and salsa, as well as a menu. I must say they have good lunch options. I chose to go with the taco dinner, which isn't on the lunch menu anyway. It's 3 tacos served with rice and beans. My co-worker ordered the lunch quesadilla. We both thought the quality of food was great, and it was brought out to us in less than 8 minutes (which was quoted by our waiter). We both thought from a service perspective, Two Senoritas really brought it to the table. They were aware of our needs and certainly catered. I definitely appreciate that anywhere I go. Would I go back just to have a leisurely dinner? Heck yes.

We're always so disappointed in the service or the gfood at local mexican places but we keep searching. THis place was not bad! The servers were friendly and spoke english so there were no miscommunication issues.They have a happy hour for domestic beers and basic maragaritas but I went with the Grande margarita which is made with higher quality ingredients and was delicious!! (contrary to previous poster it is made clear this is NOT on happy hour specials) Started with the complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is mild so order hot if you want spicy. Tried the guacamole which was good, freshly made, perfect amount of lime and cliantro. Hubby had the Tacos el pastor, ($10.75) marinated pork tacos with grilled pineapple, cilantro and a semi spicy green sauce, they were very good! I had the enchiladas chipotle ($10.25) described as being covered in a creamy zesty chipotle sauce. Well, it was creamy, not zesty, but good. I asked for some mole sauce on the side for my take home leftovers to see if it could help, it wasnt very good either. Very bland, definitely americanized. For the area it is in I think the food here was quite good. This is a tourist area so they need to please all palates. I understand that, but I wish they'd offer an option, Gringo or Authentic. I'd come back. The food was good, service good, margarita and tequila choice, very good!

I wish there were a 4 1/2 star button. This is the first time I went there and I will be back. Trish was our waitress who also made my VERY yummy Coconut Margarita - oh my gosh You HAVE to get this. It's better than a Pina Colada because you get all the flavor and none of the over sweetness. The glass is rimmed with honey and toasted coconut. Really one of the best drinks I have had. I ordered chicken enchilada and it was delicious. My husband ordered the shredded beef enchilada and said he liked mine better. The chips and salsa are really good. The chips are served warm. You will not go away hungry or disappointed. The atmosphere is really pretty. As I write this I am craving to go back.

This was our first time here. We were seated right away. The restaurant has a nice old world feel to it. The margaritas were great. For an adventure, try the coconut margarita. For the main course, I had shrimp tacos. With mango & pineapple, it had a unique sweetness to it, very good. My wife had carne asada. The meat was not marinaded. I thought the meat was a little tough. It did meet our standard. For dessert, we has sopapillas. This is a bread baked with cinnamon, then has honey drizzled on it, outstanding. Our server was Ciera. She was very helpful, knowledgeable and kept things moving right along.

Well, I read the reviews and went anyway. I was surprised to find that Dawn D's review ended up being spot on. I ordered a diet coke first. It tasted like no other diet coke I've ever tried. Really an odd flavor. I don't know whether to attribute that to the local water (which smells like sulpher) or what, but it was strange. The server said that she has heard that before and offered me something else. I ordered the chicken burrito. It came with a cheese sauce on top that really didn't taste like any kind of Mexican queso or white queso you've ever had. More like the nacho cheese that comes out of a pump at a gas station. The chicken inside was extremely dry, overdone, and tough. The worst part though, was that everything had a "fishy" taste to it -- just like Dawn described! I ate about a third of it and then gave up. Thankfully the server was kind enough to give us a discount so I wasn't stuck paying full price for it, but unfortunately I can not recommend this restaurant. This was our last night in Sarasota so it's disappointing to end the trip on such a sour note. Stay away from this one.

Absolutely Not. I am sorry, I dont give poor reviews, but people should know and so should these two senioritas. The service was poor, the waiter seemed confused, forgot items, and had unneccessary charges on our bill for extra condiments, and larger portions that we didnt order. The food was lousy, fish tacos were a joke. The food was flavorless, something a mexican joint should have no issues with since the culture of the food is strong spicy bold flavors. There are SOOOO many wonderful spots in Sarasota. Try many of the others. A waste of $60, for a light fare dinner.

Ate here during Chalk Festival and kept meaning to write a review. We ate here 4 years ago (ish) and didn't like it, but I didn't remember why. I was in the mood for Mexican food while downtown and decided to give it another try. BIG MISTAKE. Their doors were propped open and birds were flying in and out and landing on tables in the restaurant. I'm not a big bird fan and have to think this is questionable as far as restaurant sanitation policies go. Chips and salsa were delivered to the table after a lengthy wait, even though there were only 2 other couples in the restaurant. I've had better chips from a bag from the grocery, but the salsa was fresh and flavorful. Everything I ate/drank except the mediocre chips/salsa tasted like fish. In a bad way. FISHY fish. I ordered fish tacos, based on the menus description of "made with fresh fish" (tilapia). I've had fish tacos from several places in Sarasota that boast "made with fresh fish" and they've always been excellent. Not these. They had a very strong fishy smell and taste that I associate with NOT FRESH fish. The meal was served with beans that were mediocre and Mexican fried rice that was dry, and...TASTED LIKE FISH. Even the water that they served tasted fishy, so I ordered iced tea. It tasted weirdly fishy as well. I ate 2 bites of my fish tacos and absolutely couldn't finish them. When the waitress finally returned, she asked if I wanted a box. When I told her that I didn't care for the dish and that it tasted like bad fish, she acted annoyed and like I was crazy/unreasonable. She whisked away my plate, and I hoped to not be charged or for a visit from a manager. No such luck. She simply rudely brought back my bill, I forked over $14 for food I didn't eat, and vowed to never return. There are so many excellent places to eat downtown! Try any of them EXCEPT this one.

Gross, gross, gross! Had the carne asada! What a joke! For almost $ 14.00 I had the worst steak I've ever had. It was tough, thin, overcooked and had that refrigerator taste. Margaritas are mediocre. Mi Pueblo is probably the closest to American Mexican cuisine. Guerrero's Bakery is not bad for some authentic dishes like posole and menudo.

Worst Mexican food in town. Sangrias are nothing but sour mix. Unless you want heartburn and an expensive tab, skip this place

You've got to be kidding me! Reading through the reviews of this place is frustrating. First of all, the fact that your food comes out in less than 8 minutes is NOT good. It is nothing to brag about. You got premade (hours and hours in advance) and microwaved, incredibly unfresh "food." Any kitchen with a real chef know that things should be made to order!!! If your plate is burning hot that's because it's been premade and siting under heat lamps all night. Service can be good or bad, it all depends. Drinks have never been very good for me, and you can trust me because I've tried this place several times. This is not authentic, nowhere near it. If you like Mi Pueblo you will like this place. If you like a more authentic Mexican experience you should go to Two AMIGOS. Its on 4th street or somewhere around there. The staff speaks very little English and I consider that a good thing. (Sorry they won't have decor from Pier 1.)
