We've been to The Table about a dozen times over the last few years, and it just keeps getting better. It's one of the few places in the area where you can have BOTH waterfront dining AND delicious food that goes beyond a blackened grouper sandwich. The views of the Phillippi Creek are excellent - glass windows all around and outside dining that offers glimpses of a variety of birds and fish. Though we've had a few poor experiences with service in the past, that has not been the case recently. Our servers have been attentive, professional and helpful. There are several craft cocktails to choose from. Linse likes the Hendrick - a cucumber and rosemary martini. The wine menu is decent and features a variety of global whites and reds in addition to some good California wines. The food is the star of the show, as it should be. While we normally don't like to order the same thing twice, we've had the Napa Grilled Octopus tapa each of our last three visits. Not only is it the tastiest octopus I've ever had (and I've had plenty in both Europe and North America), but it is in my humble opinion hands down the tastiest tapa in all of Sarasota. We've had few entrees that we didn't like, including a variety of seafood dishes. Happily, The Table features some local seafood, including a Florida lobster and a regular special local catch - from hog snapper to wahoo.

The Table completes the seafood offering on Philippi Creek. With its associated casual place, the Philippi Creek Oyster Bar, you have your choice between casual downscale (think steamed shellfish pots and paper towels) and The Table, which is an upscale fish place with some outstanding dishes. We had the lemon sea bass and the paella (and no, the rice wasn't at all like rice-a-roni). Both were good. For a lazy afternoon with a pitcher or two of beer and fried shrimp, try The Creek. For a real seafood dinner (including a bouillabaise that looked genuine on another table) go to The Table. At about $150 for two it's not cheap, but it's well worth it and not that much more than other good Sarasota restaurants.

The only star I'm giving is for the service, which was divine, and everyone who ordered strict seafood plates seemed to enjoy their meals. I thought this was a huge bust from the get-go. The decor is lacking and the setup is both unsightly and uncomfortable -- hard to match! The bar entrance is seriously tacky, although the happy hour seemed to have good specials, so maybe that's catering to their audience. The outside area appeared to be nicer so if you're going make sure you are prepared to sit outside. Appetizers: we got the bacon jam flatbread (awful bread, not great toppings, made for a truly lackluster dish) and the grilled octopus, which was decent. My meal was the paella and if I had checked yelp beforehand I would have NEVER ordered it. Gosh. The rice seemed like a box of rice-a-roni. The shrimp and mussels were decent, but I couldn't get past the terrible rice. My fiance got a meat dish and it was pretty awful too. Seems like this place has a menu that makes a lot of dishes sound great, but they can't cook anything but seafood so they should seriously scale back the menu to what they can actually cook. The naked catch was excellent and the lobster carbonara was apparently very good as well. The cherry on top of this was how expensive everything was. It certainly wasn't worth the price.

Great ambiance, simple and clean. Personable staff, amazing cuisine. Steak tartar, seafood trio, octopus-excellent presentation and execution. The only disappointment with a restaurant of this caliper, the wine experience. I received a thick rimmed, heavy wine glass with a room temperature red. A great red wine should have a slight chill, not on the verge of being warm. A sexy thin rimmed glass paired with properly chilled wine would have absolutely wowed me here and rounded my experience.

The exterior is very unassuming and I would have driven right by if I wasn't with locals who knew the restaurant. The interior is plain but clean and has a pleasant view of the water. Our server Brendan was GREAT!!! He was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to have as our server. The food was FANTASTIC!!!! I had the Havana Mixed Grill and it was delicious. The little rolls that they have for the table are very tasty and unique. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would definitely return.

I love this restaurant. By far, they have the best Chilean sea bass in Sarasota. Their craft drinks are superb and innovative. They infuse their own vodkas on site. Hello Bacon Bloody Mary! I highly recommend ordering off their full menu. Their dishes are fresh, flavorful and plentiful. Their sides are delicious as well. You won't stop talking about the Yucca rolls they serve when you sit down, and will want a second helping. Ask for it!

Happy hour is great. Ordered spinach fondue.. Was good but charged $1.50 for extra pita bread when they clearly didn't serve enough with the fondue....that's tacky and cost a star.. It's bread right?? Overall nice joint.

I've now been here nearly ten times. Whether alone, with friends, for an engagement party, etc. the table continually proves itself exceptional. The flavors and menu have always been wonderful and inspired but one thing I'm noticing on my most recent visit is the intentionality in professionalism an customer service. A really classy place for drinks, dinner, or Sunday brunch.

We had a terrific meal and lovely service. The Sangria & "Texan" were well made cocktails, our two small plates and entree were perfect portions to share. Grilled octopus, ahi tartar tacos & lobster carbonara split between 2 were just right. The gentleman that served us was training(I forget his name) and he seems like he'll be a lovely addition to their team. I will absolutely be back - can't wait to try out Happy Hour & dessert next time!

GREAT DATE NIGHT on a clear evening as the moon reflects off the creek. Food and service were excellent (thank you Brandon and the hostess!) All the positive reviews are true so I will just add that you have to try their Truffle Mashed Potatoes - seriously the BEST I've ever had! Also their dinner rolls are unique and worth every little calorie, the Caesar Salad is also unique and amazing, the special (tilapia with lots of yummy goodness was plate-licking-good! -but don't do that ;) I'm going back for more - hope you enjoy your visit too! I clicked on "casual", but you really could dress up a little too.

Ian was our waiter and was amazing, even though he's a Boston guy (wink wink). The spicy tuna app was fantastic and fresh, one of the best I've had. I had the brazed pork shank and dad had the seafood paella for dinner. Both were amazing! I couldn't stop eating. The pork was super tender and broke apart with a fork. For dessert I had the chocolate moose and dad had the key lime bar. Both were great! For the meal we had, the price we paid was like stealing. Compliments to the chef and the staff!! Very excellent!

Great food but very small portions. Table agreed very expensive for what you get. Example veal chop $48 for 16 oz cut. I'm sure it's great, but I do a great job with them as well. Service started good then slowed way down.

Absolutely outstanding. Fun, delicious appetizers, and the bowl of soup I had may be the best I've ever had in my life. (It had Chilean Sea Bass and Chorizo, and I could have eaten another entire bowl. Just amazing.) This is one of my favorite restaurants in Sarasota. A creative menu that is always changing -- and a new appetizer is a surprise hit. First, I do not like octopus. Chewy. Flavorless. Why bother? Well, I have a friend who happens to love octopus. So we went with her to The Table and she wanted to try the octopus, which was billed as cooking for seven hours. I'm thinking, ok. Chewy. Flavorless. Now overcooked. But I was floored. Tender. Flavorful. A definite do-over. If you're like me and don't like octopus, man up and try this.

Don't waste your time or money- food was nothing special and the service was awful. Food was nicely presented and creative, but that's about it, the flavor did not match. I ended up sending my dinner back, the quinoa was completely overcooked and mushy. I don't mind paying higher prices for good food, but the food here is not good and the prices are high. Go somewhere else!

Food was awesome in all dimensions. Presentation taste and service. Atmosphere: a little loud indoors but the deck is where we should have sit. I had the roasted octopus and Chilean Sea bass. They have a ceviche dish that I tasted from my mom and my honey had a hoggsnapper dish. I'm all about food quality who cares if it's hard to talk!!

Good service, good atmosphere. They are on the creek near 41 so you can sit by it or inside. The entrees are kinda pricey and that's why I gave it a 4 not 5. You can go for happy hour and get $5 well drinks and $2.50 beers and $5 appetizers so that would be my recommendation.

We had an outstanding meal here last night. Everything from the service, food and ambiance was top notch. We sat outside in the patio right and the ambiance was perfect with the tiki torches. We started out with the tuna tacos and the spinach fondue. The tacos were outstanding! The fondue was also super flavorful. We split a Caesar salad and the lobster carbonara and they split both of them on to separate plates for us and gave both of us eggs on the carbonara. Both were delish and the quality of the food was outstanding. We got two of their housemade drinks which were really good. Our server Shawn was great and made perfect recommendations. Overall we had a prefect dinner. We went to Shore Diner in st. Armand's the night before this, which is comparable in price and ambiance but this was by far a better meal and well worth the price!!!

Absolutely love The Table! The atmosphere is great even though it is in a 1950's old home on the creek. The waitstaff has always been excellent-very educated and attentive. But the food is to die for. I have had a few different dishes as has my wife and friends-all rave about it. One of my favorites is Sean Minor Pinot Noir which I cannot find anywhere in town... Cannot wait to go back and maybe sit outside on Phillippi Creek for a change. Enjoy! Oh, and the happy hour is pretty cool too with inexpensive apps and drink specials. Steer clear of the tap beer...every time we try their light draft beer, the beer tastes like caramel!

Our first experience at 'The Table' was fairly mixed. I adored the atmosphere (we sat outside by the creek) but was not overly impressed by my food. My husband enjoyed his meal, but was surprised to find a large piece of bone in his duck confit. Service was OK, but not particularly attentive. Mia culpa, I made the mistake of ordering a special without asking the price (as a side note, WHY put the customer in the awkward position of having to ask the price of a special?) and OUCH did I learn my lesson (I realize that veal is expensive, but $43 for a special? Really?). I have no problem paying top dollar for a superb meal. However at Tables we got the big bill but certainly didn't get the superb meal.

The only thing keeping this from 5 Stars is its wine list. The most innovative menu in Sarasota. We had a mix of "heavy" dishes, lamb, short ribs etc with the best Sea Bass I've had in Florida. Everything was excellent. I'm taking some friends there in a week and intend to inquire on corkage so I could pair the fabulous food with my own wines.

I would recommend this place for 50 and below not that seniors can't enjoy it too. But for me, it was a little too contemporary. It will be considered romantic for the young with creek outside. Hog fish with both head and tail was unusual for American restaurant. We enjoyed it. Apparently oysters were very good too. My entree of Havana grill, the pork came well done so that was unfortunate. My friend's wife ordered rack of lamb which she said was quite good. My favorite was Apple tatine. My wife didn't like special Key Lime Pie. We like it plain and simple not too sweet. Enjoyed a bottle of Chianti-Marchesi.

Dined here last week while visiting family. my first visit but my son and his wife have been several times. both the food and service were excellent.We started out on the deck but had to retreat inside for our entrees as the rain swept in. the servers handled that very nicely. While the deck is pretty casual, inside it is in the "fine dining" category. we had the flatbread (amazing), the excellent roasted peach salad, the fish special of the day and the Mardi Gras (shrimp and grits). everything was very good. The rolls are to die for. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Very creative menu. So much so that you might question if the kitchen can pull it all off. So far, the answer is "definitely, yes!" High points -the Barcelona mussels- cock full of chick peas, delicious chorizo and a broth that had me asking for a spoon to get every drop. The Wahoo ceviche hit every taste bud and the Bacon Jam flatbread was amazing, but didn't seem to be anything like the menu description. What is was, however, was gone within minutes of hitting the table. Highly recommend bringing a group and ordering a variety, while exploring a very creative and equally well-executed cocktail menu.

I went last night for dinner to celebrate with my Parents for their 49th Wedding Anniversary! Our table's view was beautiful, the service was excellent & very attentive, the decor is trendy & tasteful, and last but not least, all of our dishes were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! While in Sarasota for the First Watch Half Marathon, we rewarded our run with a brunch at The Table Creekside. I have heard wonderful things about their brunch and was very excited to finally check it out. The Table Creekside offers a brunch trio for $20 which allows you to get three small plates of their brunch options along with a bloody mary or mimosa. If you are like me and always have a hard time selecting one item from the brunch menu, than this is the perfect place for you sit back and have an amazing meal. Table Creekside also specializes in custom-infused cocktails which I was looking forward to after our run. Gabe and I started off with the Smoked Bacon Vodka bloody mary. As you know, I am a huge fan of everything bacon. This bloody mary was perfect and the bacon salt rim really stepped it up a notch. Since we were getting a brunch trio, I normally wouldn't have ordered a starter. Yet when I looked on the menu, I saw Steak & Eggs in the appetizer section. Steak and Eggs isn't something you would normally see on a starter menu and after reading the description, I promptly ordered it and we devoured it. Steak & Eggs, Kobe beef carpaccio, radish mignonette, crispy quail eggs. When it was time to pick our three dishes, I had a hard time selecting just three. I ended up ordering Short Rib Benedict (mushroom ragout, Nueske's potato hash and foie gras hollandaise), French Toast Panini (Washington apples, argentinian caramel, brie, candied bacon crisp) and Puebla Egg Crepe (organic chicken, smoked manchego, heirloom romesco). Of the three, I really enjoyed the Short Rib Benedict. The Egg crepe was very good and I loved the romesco. The French toast panini was too sweet for my taste but I was obsessed with the candied bacon. Gabe also ordered the Short Rib Benedict along with Shrimp and Grits (tasso gravy, Key West pink shrimp, creamy grits) and Mediterranean Lamb Frittata (goat cheese, spinach, angel hair, heirloom pepper sofrito). I will pledge under oath that the shrimp and grits at The Table Creekside were the best Shrimp and Grits I have ever had in my life - and my family is from South Carolina. The lamb frittata was good but did not stand up to the shrimp and grits. While we were eating, I had to try out another hand crafted cocktail which caught my eye - the TANTRA, a martini with house infused cucumber vodka, cucumber water, aloe vera juice. It was so refreshing and delicious. I could have honestly drank myself into a coma with this cocktail. I am a huge fan of cucumber in my cocktails and this one was above and beyond. The food and drinks surpassed my expectations at The Table Creekside. The ambiance both inside and outside of the restaurant was amazing. I wanted to sit there all day, enjoying the beautiful water view.

We were here for a Mother's Day brunch. We were not overly excited about the food, it was good. The experience was lacking due to poor service. Our waiter was not educated on the menu, we were unable to order drinks due to his lack of attention, and the entire operation of the restaurant seemed ver disorganized.

I only had one meal and therefore speak of a favorite of mine, Paella. In a word. disappointing. You can add a star it you aren't very familiar with Paella. Although attractively served in a soup bowl it was dry. The chorizo was chewy, the shell fish miniscule. The Shrimp was the star attraction.

From the outside, Table looks like it might be a typical, mediocre place that's taking advantage of a lovely setting on the water. But our night- time entrance made me think that J.Cousteau could retire in Sarasota and immediately become a discerning regular at Table. Whites and blues dominant throughout, with the long restaurant made to look like a well appointed yacht. Vertical walls of water, small mirrors shaped like port holes or rising air bubbles. The smooth terrazzo bar has round stones imbedded next to an undulating, opaque glass running down the center like a creek. Outside there are two decks. At night, modern rectangular firetables add to the atmosphere. The food's presentation is beautiful on huge, white serveware with wavey angles. I had the sea bass. It was served with poached fig and a ramekin of mashed potato, crowned with crusted onions. The only thing to rock the boat was the bok choy, left woodey and clear from a bad prep choice and found hiding under the fish filet. We had to try one of their signature martinis, of course: Vodka, invisible and swirling in pear nectar with pieces of cherry-infused lychees at the bottom of the glass. Sante!

I really wanted to like this restaurant. The ambiance is very nice, along with the view of the water. However, the food was not very good. The bread rolls they served tasted like they had been frozen. The shrimp appetizer was overly salted and tasted like old oil. The crab cake was ok, but was served lukewarm. The short rib was actually very good, I'd recommend that. The cheese cake desert, again tasted frozen and was served at lukewarm temperature. I felt like everything except for the entree left this weird after taste in my mouth. To boot, a very expensive bill followed.

It USED to be great. In the last year everything has gone down hill. My wife's filet first came out raw and then was overly salted. My seafood Bouillabaisse was a monstrosity of over cooked shrimp and fish in a broth that was so salty I couldn't eat it (and I normally like more salt than most people). Wait staff was was inexperienced but tried hard. We used to eat there 5-6 times a year, but now having been burned twice...that's it for us.

A little quirky, down low in a ditch off of highway 41. older building remodeled in a Miami sheik vain, light & modern. Can be a little tight through the bar around the corner to the tables. I have eaten here three times since it opened and found the menu selection good if not a tad pricey. The quality and service is on the mark, the staff has always been just attentive enough, not bothersome and always smiling. I consider is a lighter option to Ruth's Chris or Flemings (like those as well)

Even thhough I went in for brunch I think I found another great happy hour place. First things first, the brunch here was fantastic. Food was tasty and the presentation was unbeleivable. Menu items seemed to be a little pricey but since you are right on the water I kind of expected that. I actually ordered the trio special which seemed to be a great deal for what you got. With the trio you can order any three smaller portioned meals from a wide variety of items. I ordered the short rib, the salmon, and the scallop risotto. I thought the risotto was the best thing I tried, others raved about the short ribs. Also got a chance to try the french toast panini with apples. Great tasting but must have a sweet tooth as this dish is extremely sweet. Props to bartender too...bloddy marys were awesome. Before we left Ronaldo showed us the ahppy hour menu. HH is everyday from 4 to 6:30, a wide variety of $5 apps which seems worth it since the food here is very good. $5 martinis and $2.50 cigar city draughts. Cant wait to head back.

We had heard and read reviews saying that the Table had a creative menu -- hard to find in Sarasota. Its situated right on Phillipi Creek and has a sleek modern interior. The service was certainly attentive and the food good. The room was crowded and the ambience was sterile. From my view, it was overpriced. We wont likely be back. Im not opposed to spending that much money on a great meal, but the experience wasnt that special.

My wife and I ate here for the first time a few weeks ago and came away very impressed. We had a reservation for 6:15 but came at about 5 to take advantage of the happy hour. The happy hour specials were pretty solid, finger food type dishes. We really didn't have one we didn't devour. The drink specials were pretty good too. Our happy hour tab was about 30 bucks with three or four drinks and about four or five of the food selections. We were pretty stuffed from all that when our table was ready so we decided to share an entree. We had the veal chop special and I can honestly say it was one of the best pieces of veal I've ever had in my life. They also use organic ingredients and have a few gluten free options if you're into that. The atmosphere was okay. We were about the youngest couple in there by about 30 years but we still had a beautiful view of the water from our table on their deck. If you're looking for young, hip and trendy, this place may be a little disappointing. But if you're looking for a excellent meal with prompt, courteous service, this is definitely the place to go. We will be returning.

The food at this restaurant looks and tastes like the food you get at poorly catered weddings for 300+! The bok choy marmalade on the tuna rolls tastes as disgusting as it sounds, sugar and lettuce simply don't mix in this case. Please stop trying foams, what we had on the oyster shooters was way out of place for this menu and wasn't executed well. Also, this chef seems obsessed with little red dots of sauce on every plate. Please sir, if you want to add little red dots of puree all over the plates ala 1990, don't forget to add the chopped parsley around the edge too! At least that way I'd know you were joking instead of feeling like the but of your jokes. We could have laughed together. I really wanted to like this place as it does have a nice atmosphere but they just don't execute on any level.

The parking lot is spacious; it's not all paved from what I remember, so if you just washed your car, you may end up getting some of the shell and dirt hard pack stuff crusted on your wheel wells. There is valet, but with so much parking available and so little distance to walk, we didn't feel the need to pay for valet service. Once you enter the restaurant, you are immediately inside the bar, which is offset from the main dining room by a galley-like hallway. It's a little interesting because the space that every patron must walk through in order to get to the dining area is the same space people are standing around waiting for drinks from the bar. It's somewhat awkward, and on a crowded night at the bar, it would be frustrating to bring your party to and from the dining area and equally frustrating for the people enjoying the bar. Nonetheless, on the night we went, the bar was not too full, nor was the dining hall, which brings me to my second point. Service was oddly slow and sort of lagging behind the needs of the table. We had to politely ask for water, for refills, and our drinks were served separately only after I had to grab another server and remind them to bring my glass of wine. Not a huge issue, however, as all staff are cordial, but when the dining room was over half empty at 9:30PM, I felt like our server could have paid us a little more attention. Additionally, with the prices of dishes ranging from around $16 for a chicken dish to $34 for a steak (I believe), to market price for some of the seafood and lobster dishes, I felt the service should have been better. The inside is nice. It is a little trendier than some spots in Sarasota, somewhere between the dark ambiance at Selva and a relaxed seafood place on the water. I felt is was a nice pairing, although I have read some reviews that touted the atmosphere too loud. We enjoyed the atmosphere. It's conversation friendly, but not too loud. The crowd consisted of basically the Sarasota crowd on a Saturday night. There were date-age teens, families and elderly folks alike. The food, as we had anticipated and heard on several online publications, was fantastic! I can't say enough how fabulous my dish was. I had the Chef's Special, which consisted of a nice portion of Chilean Sea Bass, with a risotto side and a creamy sauce. There was also three or four little lobster pieces mixed in the risotto cream. Along side the sea bass was a large scallop, perfectly prepared with the same creamy risotto and lobster starch dish. Finally, there was some sort of potato/yucca/sweet potato starch wrapped in a Mexican style corn sheath. It was baked inside the potato thing, and there was an ample portion of chopped up beef. I didn't necessarily agree with the potato side item, as there was already a starch in the dish, but it was prepared very well. If you like that type of food, then the dish would have been perfect. The sea bass was the best I have ever had, by far. Each bite flaked off and melted in my mouth like butter - literally. The flavor was fantastic, and as a huge fan of sea bass all over Sarasota, this was by far the most fantastic I have had. The lobster and scallop were equally perfect. My date had a white fish ceviche; I cannot remember the specific fish. It was prepared well, tasted fresh and she and I both agreed it was very well done, having had ceviche at Selva and Ceviche recently. It was heavy on the cilantro in my opinion, but she, loving cilantro, stated that the ceviche was light, fresh, and seasoned perfectly. We had one martini and one glass of wine. Also, the pre dinner bread is amazing. Our bill was only $61, and I gave $15 for the tip because while the server was not reading our minds as to what we needed at the table, he was a very friendly and personable individual and overall enhanced the experience at Table Creekside. One thing to note is that by the time we arrived, the sun was down, so I cannot say for sure if the sunset can be viewed from Table Creekside. My inclination is to say that it does not have a good sunset view because the restaurant is on the east side of US 41. That may or may not be accurate, but our table faced the small canal portion of the creek, which to me was still very pleasant and Florida-like. Excellent food. Decent Service. Prices not too bad considering the quality of the food. As a venue, I would recommend it solely for eating. The bar area is nice, but it is small and not equipped to handle groups of friends looking to drink. Excellent Food!
