Sarasota needed a place like this..classy, clean and awesome staff..Restaurant downstairs with a cocktail lounge upstairs. I've never dined here but I'm sure the food is exceptional. The bar staff is friendly and attentive and the drink prices are good. One of our new regular hangouts for Friday nights.

We were early for a show and had some time to kill. Hey. Let's go up to the broadway bar for a beer and a crappy pizza. Some glad they closed. Sorry but this place was awesome. Hostess. Sever. Everyone took great care of our party even with three kids. Food and drinks all rocked. Thank you!

Any place that has class enough to feature Michael Royal, one of the best jazz pianists in the country, is okay by me. Atmosphere is easy, great food is pretty easy, and both are easy to come by, but not great jazz players. Call and find out what nights he's playing and go have your mind blown.

We ended up there after drag queen bingo due to the performers saying they were heading there after the show. It sounded like a great time so we headed over and what a waste of money! Over priced below mediocre food! My friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs with the catch of the meatballs being stuffed with provolone. Order came out and it had 1 meatball there was no cheese to be found any where on the plate! It tasted bland! Next was an order of escargot, it was my first and last experience. Long story short there are lots of other options and far better ones at that!

Good service good food and a great place before or after Sarasota Players. I have been there many times since the new owner changed the name to Starlight from Broadway Bar. It was a change for the better. Try the short ribs! They are quite good.

Great decor. Loved the pastrami sandwich and french dip. Clams had a fantastic sweet garlic butter sauce. Owners take a lot of pride to ensure you have a great experience.

After an initial visit to this replacement of the old Broadway, we returned with a group 9 or 10 months after opening, only to be disappointed. Our first annoyance was the valet parking. I am one of those who resents that service as an unnecessary additional expense for something I can do myself. The interior was too hot and had too much of a food smell to be appealing. My Caesar salad was strawberry and goat cheese salad, a special dish of the evening, was tiny and limp. My clams (replacement for the PEI mussels) were miniscule and a good third of the shells were empty! And the price for my wife and I was on the range of $80, which was outrageous, considering that I went away hungry. Another couple complained that their pot roast was way too salty. My wife did enjoy her roast beef; the decor has greatly been improved compared to the old place, and the piano player was terrific, but, all in all this place thinks too highly of itself and is not worth the price.

The vibe was cool and what I expected. I loved that. The food was "ok" and I would probably try a steak or Prime Rib next time. I bought the French Dip with fries before a concert at the Van Wezel. They must get busy before shows, they knew exactly how to hustle us in and out of there. That was awesome! The reason for the 3 stars was my drink - a classic Whiskey Sour served in a short water glass with a lime??? What??? Not a very tasty sour either and lacked the right glass and garnish. For such a classic looking place I thought a classic drink like a whiskey sour would have been perfect. Next time hopefully.

Cute bar! Love the style. I'll have to come back and try the Martinis. I had mojitos and they were good. I came here with group of friends for dinner. There menu is very limited. Everyone ordered the special, surf and turf, and really enjoyed it. I had the salad and the dressing was doused all over. :-(. I'm hoping to try this place again and have a better experience. On a plus, there was live jazz music. I believe it started at 7pm. There wasn't a lot of people in the restaurant, more in the bar than anything.

Nice venue in an unexpected location. Moderate prices, very full bar, lots of wines, beers on draft & bottles, lots of bourbon & scotch selections. Great onion soup, very nice Insalata Caprese, many eclectic options. Wings, sandwiches, & where else can you get parsnip pierogies! Try this, nice little place off Tamiami.

This is hands down the greatest "nightspot" in Sarasota. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Super service and ambiance. We have been back several times and enjoyed everything we ordered. I particularly appreciate the live music each night at a volume level we can tolerate and also let us dance!

Excellent Menu, not a bad item on it. Be sure to try the appetizers! Fantastic especially the deviled eggs with crispy prociutto. Service great and very good value for the money.

The Starlite Room is one of those rare places that you stumble across and wish it was in your town! We were in Sarasota visiting some friends, and were sick of the mediocre beach side restaurant scene. And we found the Starlite Room and we are glad we did! The atmosphere is amazing and the food was there to back it up. The prime rib was so good so so so GOOD! I also enjoyed their Starlite Old Fashioned. I cannot wait to visit again!

OMG! The pink squirrel drink is so cool! It has a cotton candy garnish! The first for me! Check it out!

Great new place downtown for dinner and or drinks! The atmosphere is reminiscent of old hollywood. The food and service were excellent. I had a ny strip, frittes and ceaser both were delicious and classic style. Great building 2 nd floor soon to be a swanky lounge. Recommend checking it out now before word gets out.

Must read whole review... There's a twist (food is awesome). I was a bit hasty to judge the Starlite Room room in the early days. They didn't quite have all the kinks worked out, and I was unable to place a to go order because their phone system was not properly setup yet. I was angry cause I was really craving a pastrami sandwich. Now... All I can say is that I'm sad I missed out on that amazing sandwich for the past few months. It is one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. The short ribs are also excellent, and I was very fond of the homemade key lime cheesecake. All around awesome experience. Definitely come here. I'd love to see this place around for a long time to come.

Very cool place in a supper club motif. Try the Starlite Old Fashioned. The prime rib and NY strip were very good. Service by Tyler was excellent.

What a pleasant surprise! I typically go for more upscale fare, but I also love to try new restaurants. So when we saw the new sign, we decided to check it out. On our first visit, Tyler, the new owner, was very welcoming and personable and - obviously really proud of his new venture - gave us a tour of both floors. (They were still working on turning the 2nd floor into a lounge.) The casual, warm atmosphere matches that of the staff, and the bar is a fun place to have dinner or drinks with friends. We've been back 3 more times since and have not been disappointed. The fish and chips rival any other in Sarasota. Their house-smoked salmon appetizer is a nice light meal - more than enough for an entree. Their jalapeño margaritas were amazing. Our servers were all friendly, cheerful and courteous, and never pushy. We really enjoy the staff - some of the nicest in Sarasota! Everyone here is doing a terrific job (especially considering they've only been open a few months!) and give a great value. Keep up the great work!!!

I REALLY wanted to like this place. It has a cool vibe and it clearly is a popular place for cocktails. In fact, the bar was packed, while the restaurant was virtually empty. That should have been a sign. Here are my ratings for the entire experience: (0-10) Bar atmosphere - 9 Quality of Drinks - 8 (had the French 75, which was pretty solid) Prince Edward Mussels - Priced well, looked like a nice portion, but were sold out when i tried to order them. Spinach and Artichoke Dip - 2 (totally forgettable and tasteless) Onion Straws - 3 (I was really looking forward to these, but they were not worth the wait) Mac and Cheese - 3 (Forgettable) Char Grilled New York Strip - 6 (my 6 year old ended up eating the whole steak) St. Louis Baby Back Ribs - 2 (I'm from St. Louis, you sir are no St. Louis Ribs. In fact you were essentially a plate of chewy fat with a few bones in them). Service - 5 (Average) I decided to pass on dessert because all of my other dishes were pretty "meh". I might be back for drinks, but I won't be back for dinner. There are just so many other places to try here in SRQ.

I LOVE this room! And if you're into vintage and (take the cute booth where you can sit next to each other), adorable decor than this is the place for you. Meatballs... Meh, okay. Lighting, YES! And apparently the fish dinner was phenomenal! #mcm mmmmm love this place!
